Starting point is 00:02:40 Welcome back to Almost Famous Ben and Ashley with you today. We're catching up with someone who's had a few moments in Bachelor Nation, but has really made a splash over on Bravo. Since she transferred over, Ashley, you can relate with that. You sure can. I can't wait to ask her the day. differences, even though she wasn't nearly as entrenched as I was on Bachelor Nation. You guys know Sally Carson, mostly from Southern Charm, but she was on Clayton's season for the first episode. She didn't even make it to the limo night. She kind of ran away. There was some... I totally
Starting point is 00:03:14 forgotten about that. It's almost like cold feet for Bachelor, but she was also supposed to get married right before The Bachelor. We'll talk to her about that, how she likes being over at Bravo and the fact that She has a new podcast with La LaKent called Sex Unlocked. I didn't know sex was locked. All right. Sally is on the line. Hey, Sally. I am dying to ask you about the transition from Bachelor Nation to Bravo.
Starting point is 00:03:43 I said that your experience over at the Bachelor's side was not nearly as extensive as mine. But what do you see the differences in a difference in fandom, production? production for sure I had a terrible time on The Bachelor You had terrible time on Bachelor Yes I am always praising Bachelor production
Starting point is 00:04:06 Really? Yeah What made it a terrible time? I mean my terrible time was like They just wouldn't let me Do anything Like I was like I want to leave And they were like you can't
Starting point is 00:04:17 You have to break up with their great friend first I was like I don't even know who the Bachelor is right now Tell us a little bit about that So you guys signed up for Click Satan season, not knowing who the bachelor was going to be. And you were in that hotel, not knowing who? Yeah. We didn't know. And then we find out, like, last minute. And I was like, fine with it. Like, I think highly of Clayton. But I mean, I just, we didn't know until we got there. And then they were like, you have to break up with their boyfriend. I was like, my boyfriend. Why were you like with a boyfriend and in a hotel waiting to meet the bachelor?
Starting point is 00:04:49 No, like they were calling Clayton my boyfriend. Oh, you have to go, even though you had never met him. Even though I had never met him. They were like, if you want to leave, you have to go say body Clay. They just wanted it for camera. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Even though you had, I get that. But you also were there and you had recently broken off an engagement and the day that the Bachelor was supposed to start filming was the day that you were supposed to get married? Married. Yes. So that was emotional. That was very emotional for me. So like I kept thinking about, okay, right now I'm supposed to be walking down the aisle, but I'm like sitting in a hotel room waiting to meet another guy that potentially could be my fiance. I was like, what the fuck am I doing here?
Starting point is 00:05:31 Wait, I guess like why were you there? Yeah, what the fuck were you doing there? It was like a fuck you moment, honestly. Like, it was like this guy just cheated on me so bad 20 days before my wedding. Like, I have this opportunity. Kim, I'm going to go do this to him. He just did this to me. And it just was not the right head headspace to be in.
Starting point is 00:05:51 How in the world did you get on the show within? 20 days of somebody cheating on you? I honestly have no idea. They called me and they were like, we heard your story. We want you. They rushed the process and then flew me there. It was like super quick and intense. So why did you have a problem going up to Clayton and just being like, hey, I was signed up for this. I signed up for this. It seemed too good to be true given my awful scenario, but I don't think I'm ready. Like why did you feel like that was pressure that you just didn't like. I don't know. I mean, when I first, like, my plan was to get there and, like, go tell him like, hey, I made a mistake. I shouldn't have come. Like, and then I met him. And then
Starting point is 00:06:32 I actually genuinely got confused because he was so nice. Like, we talked. You only see like a clip from our hotel conversation, but we talked for like two hours. And we were like vibing. And then I was like, dang, this guy's really nice. Like, and I'm dealing with an asshole at home. Should I stay? I don't know. I just was like in my head. And then I was like, no, I got to go. I feel like you should have stayed. I can't imagine what it would be like to be The Bachelor. You're so nervous.
Starting point is 00:07:03 And before it even starts, somebody's like, yeah, I'm out. Found out it was you. That would be so brutal because you're already in your own head like, hey, nobody's going to want to stay for this. Nobody wants to actually like, once they hear it's me or whatever. And then your worst nightmare comes true. And this girl shows up and she's like, yeah, by the way. I got to go.
Starting point is 00:07:28 I got to go. Nothing against you. Just not that into it. It's not you. It's somebody else. But wait, Sally, you have a tendency of doing this with Bachelor. So then fast forward, how many months, I guess, nine months. I was on this season of Paradise that you were supposed to be on.
Starting point is 00:07:48 I arrived. And then they were like, oh, my gosh, there was so much drama. because I was there with Jared, like, doing like a second honeymoon type situation. And they were like, yeah, this girl's Sally, like, she's been a pain in our butts because, like, she wants to come on and then she comes, then she leaves. And then she says she goes home and then she says she wants to come back and then she comes back and then she wants to put on the beach. Yeah, I'm a pain in everyone's ass, I feel. Like, I just really am a chaotic person. But I was excited to go to paradise.
Starting point is 00:08:18 And then? I got there and it was just like, We had like, so I think I had a very not good producer that was doing me. Like I met some great production people at The Bachelor that I loved. And mine, I think, ended up getting fired because she was just like not, like, there was a lot of negative things about her. Okay. And she lied to me and all this stuff. She took my bag at the airport.
Starting point is 00:08:46 She checked it under her name. She knew what she was doing. So my bag actually did go. but it wasn't the bag that they were going through on the show. But so then when I got there, I was like, my bag's been here, which wasn't a lie. So then it made it look like it was my bag even more. But I mean, I wanted to stay. Even after I blew up on the beach, I wanted to stay.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And they told me I had to leave. So I think that they wanted me to just come down, blow up, and leave. Initially, they probably didn't. But once you were being chaotic, they were like, well, let's just lead into the chaos. Because I wanted to stay for Justin. Like I liked Justin. Is there a chance that you could rekindle with Justin in real life? You guys are both.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I mean, we've definitely like ran into each other recently, but like not, no, there's not going to be like a future for us. We like ran into each other in the Hamptons. Was sex unlocked? I don't know. Maybe. I have a lot of questions. Sallie that I need to figure out because we are here to talk about obviously like you and getting to know you better, but you do have a podcast with Lala Kent called Sex Unlocked. That was why I referenced it. We're going to get to that. I do have a lot of questions there about the title, the content, maybe even more about you and Justin that I didn't really plan on talking about. But Sally, I do want to help make sense of the transition over. over to Bravo. So we've talked about your time on Bachelor Nation. You were like a ghost.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Your name was turning around. People were making narratives about you. Like, hey, you're going to show up. You weren't going to show up, et cetera. But then now you're, you have shown up to Southern Charm. Like you are a part of Southern Charm. This is a friend group I think you've had for a while, right? Like, this show is comfortable to you. Yes, very comfortable to me. I didn't, I only knew a couple of the cast members before actually getting on the show. Yeah, and that's what you and I relate to, too, because we both went into groups that we didn't really have a lot of people that we knew. Yes. I mean, how was your experience?
Starting point is 00:11:01 I mean, a crazy time. Crazy crazy time. Yeah. It's fun. But, yeah, I mean, Madison LaCroix on my show, we knew each other through mutual friends. And I just remember getting a DM from her like three years ago. And it was like, don't kill me. I was like, what did you do?
Starting point is 00:11:22 And she was like, I pitched you for my friend of for a second charm. Oh, perfect. Because she knew that I was like done with reality TV. And then she did that. And I was like, whatever, I'm just going to interview. And then I got it. So that's how I got into it. Were you hesitant?
Starting point is 00:11:36 I mean, obviously with The Bachelor background, you probably had some preconceived ideas of what this show is going to be. Yeah. You know the fan backlash at large extent. and small extends for not, you know, for just within the Bachelor world. And so I'm assuming when you sign up for Southern Charm, there was a little bit of hesitancy to say, hey, I'm going to go do this. Yeah, I mean, not much because honestly, I was like, look, I get to live my own life.
Starting point is 00:12:08 I get to be in my own home. I get to have my phone. I get to have my friends, my family. I'm not like losing contact with any of my real life. Yeah. So I think that's what sold it for me because the Bachelors, bachelor just like had so much anxiety because I couldn't talk to anyone in my my real circle yeah and it happens fast I will say that and that is I think something we can share with the bachelor that does happen
Starting point is 00:12:33 fast you literally fly into the airport and as soon as you walk through like you the two baggage claim everything's gone from your life within seconds and it's kind of shocking I think when you don't expect it or you don't realize how little you're going to have contact with the outside of world. But Southern Charm, you're saying, is different. Like, you can live your life and it's just functioning as normal-ish with cameras. Normal-ish, yeah. I mean, like, I have a problem where, I mean, I forget cameras are there, which is
Starting point is 00:13:04 an issue for me because I'm just, I truly feel like I am living my authentic self in life on camera, which is chaotic. This is so funny to me because I feel the opposite. Really? I felt 100%. myself on Bachelor in front of those Bachelor cameras. And I also didn't give a crap that they were there. And then on Housewives, I'm so, I'm just, I feel them.
Starting point is 00:13:35 And I feel more. You feel the cameras. Yeah. But it also might be my place in life because now, like, they have me, like, married with kids versus like that I was just caring about me. And now I have a family to protect. Yeah. Oh, well, that's true. See, I don't have that. I mean, I have my parents and my sisters, which they're not totally happy with me having like a sex podcast and crazy on TV, but it is what it is. Do you talk about sex a lot? No, not on the show really, but I mean, everyone just calls me thirsty and then I'm like male-centered and stuff, but I'm working on it.

Hi, this is Kylie Breakman. Angel Geratana. Jeremy Colhane. Patrick McDonald. And we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists Podcast.
Starting point is 00:14:41 The Improvised Character Comedy Podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is faux journal. I don't know. Have you guys heard of faux journaling? Yeah. It's reading. It's called reading.
Starting point is 00:14:56 So you're, so we don't. So we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No! I've been dying too. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30. No way. You have to come to the last bookstore, though. Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. a panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. It's right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists on the IHeard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. By age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls. We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all this end up. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the,
Starting point is 00:16:26 kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as, I can be myself and I can still be accepted, and then there's fitting in. Spitting in says, I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapist Kear Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips, you have on the dressy up across your legs. That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home.
Starting point is 00:16:57 We have to get off our device. But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I'm Mimi Brown. And every day on Front Page Podcast, I help you make sense of the stories shaping our world. Each day, I break down the biggest headlines, provide important context, and explain how these stories could impact your life, your family, and your community. My goal is to deliver clear, trustworthy information in a format that fits your schedule. I spoke with Gary Mayer, Eddie Melton, about what's happening on the ground, whether race is playing a role and what help is available for fans. who simply can't afford the added cost. Joining us now is Tennessee State Representative Justin J. Pearson.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it. Absolutely. Whether it's a major national story or an issue impacting your community, join me on Front Page. Listen to Front Page from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome to Decoding Women's Health. I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, Chair of Women's Health and Gynecolle.
Starting point is 00:18:25 at the Adria Health Institute in New York City. On this show, I'll be talking to top researchers and top clinicians, asking them your burning questions and bringing that information about women's health and midlife directly to you. A hundred percent of women go through menopause. It can be such a struggle for our quality of life, but even if it's natural, why should we suffer through it? The types of symptoms that people talk about is forgetting everything.
Starting point is 00:18:52 I never used to forget things. They're concerned that, one, they're concerned that, one, they're not. have dementia and the other one is do I have ADHD? There is unprecedented promise with regard to cannabis and cannabinoids to sleep better, to have less pain, to have better mood, and also to have better day-to-day life. Listen to Decoding Women's Health with Dr. Elizabeth Pointer on the IHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you're listening now. Can we dig into this? This is our podcast and maybe one day we can go on Sex Unlocked and
Starting point is 00:19:30 you can ask us questions. Be super uncomfortable. Yeah. Your family, I mean, you've mentioned how hard it was for you to leave your family to be on the bachelor. Yes. To be away from them. Go on Southern Charm. I'll be honest.
Starting point is 00:19:46 I don't know the storylines of Southern Charm. But you're saying that people call you thirsty or male sinners is what you're saying people might say about you. But you also then follow up with saying you're working on it. I would like to know what you mean by you're working on it. Like, why is this something that you. feel as a problem. Okay, so I actually think reality TV is good in a sense of like watching it back and realizing some stuff about yourself that you maybe didn't see clearly until you took a step
Starting point is 00:20:16 back and you're like actually watching yourself and your actions on television. And people were calling me, you know, male centered or like that I had to get validation in myself and self like through attention from men. Yeah. And honestly, like now looking at it, I do see that and I feel that. And I'm like, I do feel best when I'm getting attention from a guy. And I don't like that. You know, I want to feel my best when I'm with my family and my friends and like not getting male attention.
Starting point is 00:20:47 And so I have recently, and I put myself into therapy actually halfway through this season, which people will get to see, hopefully. And so, I mean, I'm just trying to work on like my self-referial. respect and how I view myself without a man in the picture, if that makes sense. Is there a man of the picture right now? Yeah. That's all we need to know. Okay. The pause and the look is all we need to know.
Starting point is 00:21:15 There's always a man in the picture, and that's what I'm trying to work on. Like, even if, like, I have a man, and then the man gets out of my life, there's always someone on the back burner, and then I'm thinking about it. I can reach out to, and it's like, I just need to be alone. You know, with myself. The interesting thing with what you're talking about, and I think this will transition us into sex unlocked and why you feel like this was a show you should host is, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:41 obviously you're working on yourself, but what happens, Sally, if a man comes into your life, that is a good man, you know, like one that you're like, hey, I don't want to mess this up, or I don't want to, I want to feel great about myself, while at the same time dating somebody who is a good man that maybe there is a future with. How do you balance that?
Starting point is 00:22:05 I'm trying to right now. And it's just not, like, I am someone that will sabotage a good thing pretty immediately just because it's happened to me so much in the past that I'm already fearful that, like, this good guy is not going to stick around for me because I've had good guys leave me. I've had good guys cheat on, or I guess they weren't good guys because they cheated on me. But, like, I thought that they were good guys. And so I find myself sabotaging relationships that could potentially lead to, like,
Starting point is 00:22:37 might be my husband because I'm scared that they're going to let go first. Hmm. Or I'm going to get hurt first. Have you been following the Taylor Frankie Paul drama with Bachelor? Yes. I only asked because she has man issues, too. No. I seriously was watching this the other day with my roommate.
Starting point is 00:22:55 And I was like, oh, my God. I'm, like, viewing it. I'm like, oh my God, she needs therapy, and I'm looking at her, like, and I'm relating to her so much. And I hate that. Like, she will be, you know, I'm in love with this guy. I'm in love with this guy. I'm in love with this guy. And I'm like, ah, am I watching myself on TV right now?
Starting point is 00:23:14 And then it's making me, you know, freak out a little bit. What advice would you have? I mean, I think that's one of the things that so many fans have had a hard time with because they knew a lot of this about Taylor, Frankie Paul. This wasn't a shock to them that, you know, this. was kind of, it went into the Bachelor world. But now as we sit with the things that have happened and the show not airing, I think a lot of fans are just saying,
Starting point is 00:23:39 we want Taylor, Frankie Paul, to get better, whatever that means. And so if you're sitting there saying, hey, you're doing the work, you can relate with her. What advice would you have for her at this season of life? I mean, I honestly am still working on it. So like, but I mean, I don't know if she's in therapy or not, but it really is helping.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I feel like it's helping, but I also think that you need to put in the work. And I haven't, like, I'm still doing things that I shouldn't be doing. And I know that and I'm aware and I feel like she's the same. Like I do have someone similar in my life, like a decode to her. I have someone similar, an ex that is very toxic and abusive and like, and I find myself wanting to reach out when something fails with another guy. I want to text him or I want to reach out to him. And it's just a cycle that people don't talk about enough because it really is.
Starting point is 00:24:37 And I talk about it in therapy every day. Like she is like if I can watch your brain chemicals, she's like, you are addicted to this. Like you, like it is hard to get out of just like it is hard of some like for someone to get out of doing drugs. Well, that's really interesting. My sister had a similar history with men. She just was like kind of like addicted to the attention from guys. And she always had to have like a roster where it was like she was seeing one. But then like she'd have to have backups so that if it didn't work out with that one,
Starting point is 00:25:09 that she had like somebody in the lineup and that like she was still kind of like keeping them on a string. Yeah. And it was because a lot of it has to do with like she has like an ADD wired brain where like you just tend to. need an addiction. And then she, like, moved on to, like, men being her drug. Yeah. I mean, and that's just, it's, I mean, it's sad. When I look at it, I'm like, why am I even doing this?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Like, and I'll tell my therapy, I'm like, my ex-boyfriend, like, my ex, that's the toxic one. Like, he will move on or, like, he'll have a girl. And then that's what brings me back in. And I'm, like, and then I'll blow his phone up. And I'm, like, reading. And I'm honest with my thing. therapist. I'm like, look at my phone. Why did I act like that? I will say, I think I've done a lot of therapy in my life. The awareness of it is the start. And so I think you should celebrate the fact
Starting point is 00:26:03 that you're even aware of it at this point, that, hey, like, I'm doing things that probably aren't going to benefit me long term or aren't healthy or behaviors that need to stop. Like, once you start becoming aware, then you can start working on it. It's when you're denying it or you're not seeing it, that that's when things can get really bad. Yeah. I want to take this conversation into sex unlocked. Obviously, the title of it is, is wild. I don't know what it means.
Starting point is 00:26:31 I joked with Ashley before you got on. I said, I didn't know sex was locked. But Lala Kent is your co-host. She is a big part of our family here at IHeart and our network. Tell us about the title. Tell us about the podcast. And then let's dig in a little bit to, all the other details around it.
Starting point is 00:26:55 You know, I think that the title is sex unlocked because I do feel like a lot of people are shy speaking on sex or they don't talk about it or a lot or they just like don't want to, which I can understand not wanting to talk about sex. Like it is a very personal thing. But I also feel like, you know, there's not many outlets that you can go to to hear other women in their experiences and like I feel a lot of women can benefit from like me and la la's experiences. They're like stories that we have to tell. And some of them are kind of crazy and raunchy and then some of them are like helpful. You know? So I mean, it's just a fun girly pop podcast that like you can
Starting point is 00:27:41 listen to and like a lot of people are in my DMs like we have to go on an hour walk to listen to this because I have to be away from my family. But people are loving it. There's no shortcut for saving time, but saving money is simple. Just combine your car and home insurance with Bel Air Direct and save. Get a quote at bellairdirect.com. Hi, this is Kylie Breakman. Starting point is 00:28:49 bookstore.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. By age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all this end up.
Starting point is 00:29:55 We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then there's fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapist Keer Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have more shorts. You can't do flips.
Starting point is 00:30:26 You have on the dressy. You have to cross your legs. That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home. You have to get off her device. But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:31:56 Welcome to Decoding Women's Health. I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Adriah Health Institute in New York City.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I never used to forget things. They're concerned that, one, they have dementia. And the other one is, do I have ADHD? There is unprecedented promise with regard to cannabis and cannabinoids, to sleep better, to have less pain, to have better mood, and also to have better day-to-day life. Listen to Decoding Women's Health with Dr. Elizabeth Pointer on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you're listening now.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Speaking of family, how are your parents dealing with this? They don't listen. My dad, I mean, my dad is, my dad's like, where could I find this? And I'm like, dad, no. No, I'm not even telling you. My mom's like, why are you doing this? Don't she, like, she's worried about my future kids and my, like, my future husband and stuff. And I'm like, I don't even have a boyfriend, mom.
Starting point is 00:33:26 I think that's, you know, I'm not worried. I'm not worried about that. And I'm also not saying anything on there that I regret, you know, like I'm in control of my words. And I'm just like, I like to be a very open person. But there is probably some things that, I mean, like, I've had a couple guys be like, Sally. I can't talk to you anymore because, and I have nicknames for them. But like one of them I brought up and he was like, I can't do this if our stuff is. public like that.
Starting point is 00:34:02 So it's kind of like Carrie Bradshaw. So what are you going to do about dating and having this podcast? Well, I mean, the guy that I'm like talking to right now loves it. Like there's some people that don't care. They're like, you're being yourself. Like, it's fine. So I think it just comes down to like finding the right guy that's okay with all of my extracurricular activities.
Starting point is 00:34:24 The, there's something Ashley knows this and the fans that almost famous know this. I originally went to college become like a sex therapist or teaching about sex in churches. That was kind of my idea is I want to talk with people within the kind of church base about sex in a way that wasn't. Because I was kind of grew up in that like in the era of the purity rings and purity culture. And I was like, hey, I don't think this is actually approaching the things that will be helpful for healthy sex life. whenever, you know, that happens. So I was, you know, this isn't a topic I shy away from, but I do think there are parts of sex that would be very,
Starting point is 00:35:08 that could be very weird to talk about. I mean, our producer and this is crazy. You have to have that on the podcast. Yeah. Yeah. You do need a man. Yeah. I mean, goodness, I'm married for many years now.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Yeah, but like to do your teaching. Yeah. Yeah. We're just like pumping out kids. So goodness, we're into each other. It's pretty great. But you had some things that you talked about. I mean, our producer just sent us a message that on the last show,
Starting point is 00:35:34 you talked about what the kids these days are calling it fisting. Is that true? My eyes. I think Lala brought that up on the podcast, but I have never had anyone try to do that to me. I don't even know, like my friends. I'm like, don't bring your fist anywhere near me or like, what? I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:35:56 This is where I'm going with this. So, like, these are, that's when we're talking when you say some things are raunchy. Like, that will make everybody that's listening going, what, huh? Yeah. So you're going everywhere. Like, you're talking about everything. This is not one that your dad should ever listen to. In fact, I wish he never knew it was even existing.
Starting point is 00:36:19 I have a daughter and I'd be like, this would be the hardest listen of my life. Yeah. Yeah. I would never, I could never. And it's not like I'm in there being like, yeah, like, you know, I mean, we're talking about it like real life and I'm like, Lala, that's crazy to me. That's like a baby's head. And Lala thinks it's crazy too.
Starting point is 00:36:41 So we do talk about, and then there's stuff that we talk about that we like, you know? And then there's just crazy stuff that, you know, I have friends and they'll come home and tell me a story and then we'll talk about that. So it leads us down so many paths. Yeah, my, my, like, what I see is healthy and right is not important here. But I think I'm always a proponent. So, you know, obviously we could discuss what is like healthy, right, what's good and bad, what hurts and helps. We could do all that all day and like, I'm not convincing you of anything and you're not convincing me.
Starting point is 00:37:13 We're just going to like go back and forth. But I, I, what I see in this and where I think this could go where like your mom, if she does listen, could like get behind is you are providing a space to have conversations that people are having privately or even within themselves to help people feel less alone. Is that what you hope to do through this? I mean, yeah. I mean, in some episodes for sure, because I mean, there's people, I mean, and I'm not married so I can't relate, but, you know, there's people in my life right now that are struggling in their sex lives because, and, you know, there's some people that haven't had sex, after a year of having a child and they find their husband watching porn or something like that
Starting point is 00:37:58 and they feel like it's them and you know and like I don't know I want it to be a safe place also for people to come to like that and like hear ways of like I'm sure Lala has advice she has two kids but just things like that too I think it could be helpful for women and we get a lot of DMs asking us questions too and we love to answer those How did you guys get paired together? Obviously the Bravo connection, but besides that. They asked me. I think Lala picked me and she asked if I would be interested in, I said yes.
Starting point is 00:38:32 But she knew that I was kind of, I mean, everyone, if you watch Southern Charm, you just know that I'm just very open. I just say whatever comes to my mind. Can we talk about Clayton for a second? So, yeah, tell us, what comes to your mind when you see his cameos? His dances? Yeah. I'm like, God.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Honestly, they're so entertaining. to me, my friend group, my college friend group, my girls will send it in like our Instagram DMs every day. Yeah. Check out this dance. I think this guy is going to make, he said he made $100,000 last year on it. I think he's going to make, I mean, at least $300,000 this year on it. It's insane. It's really entertaining and absolutely bizarre, but like, go for it. So entertaining. It is so entertaining. I'm like, what are you doing? He's got to be on next season of the dancing with the stars. Like, we're really missing out. Oh my God. Could you imagine? Yeah. I'm so sad that Whitney's husband went home last night. Oh, he did? Yeah. That is so sad. I know. I love him. He's so cute.
Starting point is 00:39:37 He's such a nice guy. Think about someone that's open because, like, he had a porn addiction. And I loved that they were open about it. And it was like a really tough time for their marriage. And now, like, They've just, I think it helped a lot of people. Everyone loves them. Sally, this is, this is obviously a big deal. The Sex Unlocked is within our podcast network here. Yes. So you're joining the family, whatever, the family that is, you know, spread out across the country and, you know, gets together every once in a while.
Starting point is 00:40:10 But you are under the same podcast network as us now. if you look five years into the future or maybe just your next steps, Sally, what do you hope happens with the podcast but also with yourself personally? Honestly, like I hope, I mean, I just wanted to follow our lives and also continue to give advice to people because, you know, once I get into a relationship, which I have been seeing this guy, it's not just about, you know, me going out, sleeping with new guys. experiencing things. It's also about like, you know, keeping your sex life alive when you're in a relationship and when you're not, you know, I don't know. I think that hopefully in the next five
Starting point is 00:40:53 years I'm married and then it can go down that path. But, you know, who knows? I thought I'd be married now with three kids. Could you be married to Clayton? Like, could you date him now? No. And why is that? You said that he charmed you that first night. But now I just, no, I can't. I cringe too much when I watch his face, which I feel bad about. But they're entertaining.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I'm loving them, but I'm cringing at the same time. Did you follow his story, the paternity drama? No. Oh, you didn't follow the crazy journey about like him being accused of getting a girl pregnant without having sex? Actually, I do think I thought, like I didn't follow it intensely, but I feel like I know about it. Yeah. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:39 It's a big deal right now. We have another. podcast. People are insane. Hit podcast out there. People are insane. And Sally, no, I would never, I would never rekindle things with him. I don't think. I think the only guy from Bachelor Nation that I would even be interested in is Justin. Can we go back to that for a second? Yeah. It sounds like there's hope there. I mean, no, no, no. I don't know. Did you guys ever kiss? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. We like hung out for a while.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Oh, okay. After Bachelor in Paradise. And then... He met Susie? We were talking every day. And then he started talking to Susie and I started talking to my best guy friend in Charleston. And so we stopped talking.
Starting point is 00:42:25 And we dated. He dated Susie. I dated Andrew. And then those ended. And then we got, we rekindled a little bit. Okay. Well, let's get Justin on Southern Charm now. Just do a whole bunch of crossovers. No, I was telling him that.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Sally, this is, obviously life is busy for you right now with Southern Charm, the dating world, and now this new podcast, Sex Unlocked with Lala Kent. We appreciate you coming on, and I will say, out of everything, your openness and honesty is appreciated, and people can learn a lot from that. but we also here at the Almost Famous Podcast, are excited to see you continue to teach, learn, and grow. I don't want anybody in this world, especially somebody as cool as you, to ever feel like you need validation from anybody else. And I can't wait for the day that, like, it hits.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Like, hey, I just got to be in the moment, be where my feet are. and grow within. We're going to get there. We're going to get there. I have full confidence in it. It might just be like you saying it. Like, just do it. Just do it.
Starting point is 00:43:43 You're doing great. Hey, you can go out and listen to Sex Unlocked right now. I just pulled it up. A couple episodes are out there. The journey is just beginning. Again, it's Sex Unlocked with Lala Kent and Sally Carson. Thanks for joining us today. Thanks, Sally.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Thanks, guys. Well, that was Sally Carson. That was fun. she's she's a character she's our runaway bride of the bachelor franchise yeah i mean i mean it like when you have somebody uh you know i i don't want to be somebody ashley who uh when somebody's telling you hey i'm hurting or i'm not doing great or i recognize this behavior like you don't want to be somebody's like ah screw it just keep doing it like that's not healthy that's not good you want to make sure like they have the support to grow and whatever they want to grow but at the same time uh i
Starting point is 00:44:31 I always appreciate somebody who is willing to go against the fray to, you know, talk about things that other people aren't talking about. And especially as somebody's kind of learning through it themselves, I think, like, picking us along for that ride is always beneficial because, you know, so many people are trying to do it alone or they feel alone within it. So Sally is, Sally and Lala are obviously doing something that, yes, is wild. titles of these podcasts that I just looked up for Sex and Locked are shocking. But they're doing it. And you can go listen to it if you're curious about it right now. I'm a little curious now. Yeah, you're going to listen to it.
