this is the Ben and Ashley I almost
famous podcast with IHartRadio.
Hey guys, welcome to the almost famous podcast.
I have one of my very favorite guests and one of my very favorite Bachelor alum here, Hannah
Brown.
You guys know I fan girl over her.
She is the Bachelorette extraordinaire who is now one of the cast members in a way on Bachelor
in Paradise.
She also has an upcoming wedding this summer, an upcoming book.
The girl doesn't slow down.
Ben is not with us today, so we are going to just have some grill chat, me and Hannah Brown.
Welcome, Hannah Brown.
Thanks so much for having me.
You're welcome.
You're like, I got to get this through.
I got to get done with this.
I have way too much to be doing probably a press tour right now.
Yeah?
We're in it, but it's so great.
I'm so glad to be here.
I always love coming on the show.
So I can already predict how this probably went.
Last minute, Bachelor in Paradise production was like, you know who we really need to get on
the show to spice it up, Hannah Brown? And then you were probably like, I can't wait to just slow down
before my wedding. Also, I have a book launch, so I'm not really slowing down. And then they ask you
and you can't turn it down, of course, and you've probably just been a chicken with your head cut off.
That is a very good guess. How do I know Bachelor production so much? Well, they've all changed
out. I'd love to know for you, like, how was it being a part of the show when you didn't
really know any producers? It was very different. So I got a call from a producer that I knew on
the show, but wasn't somebody that I was really close with on my season. I can predict there's
like one remaining. Yeah. And I was like, but this is, but like we chat and I was like,
she called me like I love her but kind of like a okay I had no idea because I've been just
kind of separated from it I hadn't been like really into all the news of everything and come to
you know find out that it's you know a whole new production with new executive producers and all
new producers there so you know I got to talk to the new executive producer and he's great and
awesome and
I would say that
it was very interesting
going in and like you don't know
anybody in a way I guess it is kind of
it was good too
I mean there was like pros and cons to it
I think it definitely felt like the first day
of school in a way for me
because I'm like... New teachers
yeah new school it's like going from
middle school to high school
yeah but it was still
so great and but I think it allowed it to
be like more of like a clean slate um but it did like for a second i'm like how do i operate with
these people i don't really know but it ended up being wonderful and i'm so glad that it was a part of it
but um definitely like took a little second for me to get used to instead of like just going back
into it which was probably good because maybe i didn't like fully lean into all my like old hanaway
and was able to kind of stay as i am now which i want to show up as like
like a new version of myself.
So yeah, pros and cons for sure.
Tell us everything about the resort.
You've been to both.
You've been to the old one in Playa Escondita.
And now you've been to this new one in Costa Rica.
This one seems to be like more resorty for the cast.
They have air conditioning and there's two people per room.
It's not like a camping situation.
Tell us all about it.
I feel like people who have been on Bachelor in Paradise before.
would be so jealous because it's like they looked beautiful the whole time because they could go into
their air-conditioned room and like actually get ready and um the resort was like so beautiful and like
definitely an upgrade for the cast just like overall like living conditions i i mean i kept hearing
them be like this is amazing so yeah they're really pumped about it and it's just giving it like a
fresh new look um look i love mexico so i like impartial sometimes to just i just i can sometimes
just be loyal to the past but at the same time it was really cool to be a part of this new and
exciting like change and i think people are really going to like it wells has always been the
bartender there and now you're the champagne girl
the bubbly girl and I think it's because like you are like the most bubbly personality from
the franchise that they're like oh let's we have to get her to run the bubbly bar so how did
you guys kind of navigate both of you working in the same industry yeah well I never like
I've never made a proper drink before so there's no kind of like competing in that way like
he Wells does his job and does his job well but that was not
trying to be funny but you're not probably the first one that's on that yeah he he's great and
you know has been with the show for so long and so has so much experience and i'm just coming in like
bright eye bushy tail like i don't really know what is this he doing but i can figure out how to
i mean i can figure out how to pop some bottles of champagne and just like get the girls together
and so um kind of how it's definitely two separate
areas and it's it's more just especially what wells does too as we know like it's it's it's starting
more conversation getting people thinking in a different way and so i think wells does such a great
job at that and i'm just like that female perspective um doing you know something similar but
the different too because we just are two totally different personalities and have different
on things and even if when we did have the same you know inside coming from like a more feminine
energy versus masculine energy I think was helpful for the different cast members at certain times
were you on at different times was one a night bartender one like a morning afternoon one
um one specializing in roast ceremonies so I I would um work
in the beverage industry only on rose ceremony nights.
Okay, that makes sense.
So it was more just like rose ceremonies are a little bit like just, I feel like it
just like elevates it starting with, you know, a glass of champagne and being able to just
like get the conversation going.
And then of course, Wells is doing his thing too.
But yeah, we were there were sometimes that we had the same type of schedule and then
other times different.
Did you get to kind of be on vacation?
a little bit, or at least work from your hotel room when it wasn't Rose Ceremony Day?
So I am not just working roast ceremonies. I would do my, the best way to describe my job is
Paradise Relations. I kind of just did whatever he'd be done. Are you the like, what is like
concierge? Like on White Lotus. Like that was me. Like, just doing random stuff the whole time.
And I feel like, you know, as you know, this how Bachelor,
works like people are just kind of making it up as we go yeah yeah and so i feel like my
job even for me came more clear just as the weeks went on um but i was coming in fresh like
everything was new and so just trying to figure out dynamics of you know how best i could be
utilize like it took a little bit to kind of figure that out for everyone but that there were
were some breaks um for sure but just the way the show works and it's kind of different than I feel
like I have been in the past because we were all at the same resort like you know it was like a
hot set in a way and so you kind of were I was ready at any time kind of being the concierge
paradise relations so there was still like this like little edge of like
like, okay, I don't need to like golf and explore because I could be needed at some point.
So I wouldn't say it was a vacation by name.
But I did get a good tan and there were definitely days where I got to lay out by the pool or go on beachwalk.
So that was great.
But where we are is pretty rural, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it wasn't like there was much you really could do.
Uh-huh.
Okay.
So I know obviously you can't tell us.
about couples, but let's do our best.
So is there going to be any flirtation between the Goldens and the Youngens?
I think that there could definitely be a possibility.
Once you see the cast, I mean, the Goldens are amazing, and they're just like up for anything.
And that was so fun.
I know a lot of people have been, like, concerned about, like, are we mixing Golden?
and you know the typical cast and they bring so much fun and they're just up for whatever so
that's kind of all I can say but look it's a bunch of single men and women who are out on
the prowl so there's a lot of sorting going on at all times Hannah is like just a smiley
person when she talks so I can't say that her smile is super telling here but it's a pretty
big smile.
Heard that the
goldens are bigger partiers
than the young ins
and this is something
that doesn't surprise me.
Oh, they are.
They are
so fun.
I want to hang out
with the goldins all the time.
The cast
is so great.
And I think
it's really cool
to have that energy
because just now
with social media
and like I think it used to be even different from like when you and I were on the show like
people care so much about how they're going to be portrayed and like their image and just
about the cameras and the Golden's couldn't care less and it's awesome because having been
there I feel like they they just have so much wisdom to be like life you are taking this so
seriously and this is such an amazing opportunity that we have it they're so great
and want to like take the opportunity to like just really be something that they'll cherish and grow from and find love and and I think that was really needed to have that energy with some of the younger typical cast because I get it like it is so hard to be you know especially trying to date and navigate love for like the public eye and like you know you don't have as much control
control over it because it is a TV show, but the Golden's like just really were such a
added bonus for just like the fun, but also I think for the younger contestants to just
be like, y'all are, y'all are not doing something right because they're having way more fun
than you are. And like, I feel like that really helped. Okay. So my theory on that is that the
young ones are looking for, well, first off, you're just not going to be as comfortable
in your skin at that age and you probably are when you're in your 60s. But in addition to that,
they are looking for somebody to like have kids with, like do life with. And then the older ones
are looking for somebody just kind of like have fun with and like their last, not last chapter.
I mean, they're in their 60s, most of them. But you know what I mean. Yeah, maybe there's not as much
pressure. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. I hadn't really thought of it that way, but you're right. I think
they're there and they're like, I never would have thought I would have had this opportunity
for like this second chance at love at this season in my life.
And so, yeah, the pressure is not as much there.
They're like, this is like such a gift instead of like,
this is serious business here?
Yeah, I'm like, oh my gosh, I've taken off, you know,
a lot of people have to like take time off their jobs.
And, you know, but don't know how the show's going to end up for them.
And it's like going to, if they get to find love, they're great.
But what happens after and they don't?
And is that going to set them behind?
Is it going to, what all it's going to tell?
So you're totally right.
I hadn't thought about that.
But I think just to help with the pressure having the golden's there, like just reminding
them like this is so fun.
And it's such a cool opportunity to be able to like the one thing you're doing for, you know,
a month is hanging out.
and really hopefully there with people who are also really intentionally trying to date.
Yeah.
It's so cool.
I think it's such a cool experience and fun to be able to be a part of.
Who has more romance?
Is it the Goldens or the Youngens?
Are there more on one side than the other?
Or is it kind of equally divided?
And then, of course, tell us how it is divided in the house or is it not at all?
Yeah.
I mean, they're there together.
I would say like just as we said like the the goldens don't have as much pressure so I wouldn't say that they they're having so much fun and then there's romance because it's Bachelor in Paradise and there's romance and fun and so I would say that even though the show is new and different there's different dynamics at being Costa Rica like I'm involved there's goldens there's still a lot of romance that people are
going to see and a lot of fun. So hopefully that answered your question with what I can say.
Okay. Okay. And then I know you're not going to be able to answer this, but with your hand of brown
smile, are there proposals? Why do I feel like there's a less pressure of proposal this time
around? I don't know whether it was the year break, but for some reason, I feel like that's not
necessarily the goal right now. I mean, I think that's the hope, you know, like,
That's the hope is that there are relationships that at the end feel strong and confident
about taking that next step.
But what I will say about this time just overall is with just this whole new batch of people
with a different perspective, I do think people will see a difference of, it really is just
kind of watching these people do life and it's it's kind of it's it's not like as much
pressure just in general it's like we we we want to help in any way possible to facilitate
people falling in love but we're not going to there's no like forcing people to do anything
they don't want to do so um yeah it really it's it's cool to see like you know
if you just let people be themselves, like it's going to be entertaining and you're going to see
different dynamics. You're still going to have the drama and the, you know, questioning these
big life choices that you have in such a short amount of time on the show. Like typically, you're never
even like thinking about, you know, getting engaged in a month. And of course, everybody's going in
with that on their, you know, at least on their mind. And it's just them having to navigate how
do I have to like where my relationship is.
So, yeah, maybe people won't feel as much like everybody has internal pressure on themselves,
but that's what you're going to see.
It's like the internal pressure and questions in between these couples.
Okay.
The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys.
Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed.
There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal.
Apparently the explosion actually impelled metal, glass.
The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene.
In its wake, a new kind of.
enemy emerged. And it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order criminal justice system is back.
In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to
predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice
System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him
because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?

Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course.
We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage,
and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band.
Boy band, please.
Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us,
gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross,
joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic

Oh, I've showed himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose?
I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Jokovic? It's a consistent practice.
It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more responsive. It requires more
responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle.
When you reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement.

It was an unimaginable crime.
It's four consecutive live terms for Brian Kohlberger who killed the four University of
Idaho students.
The defense are on a sinking ship.
It was clear at that point.
He was out of options.
Nearly 30 months of silence until...
Bombshell development, Brian Kobiger,
appearing set to accept a plea deal,
just five weeks before his quadruple murder trial was set to start.
No trial, no testimony.
He has pleaded guilty to five criminal counts,
one of burglary and then four counts of murder.
In this final season,
we returned to Moscow with interviews from those still searching for answers.
Why did the prosecution take this? They were holding all the cars.
How on earth could you make a deal? What message does that send?
Listen to season three of the Idaho Massacre on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Did you make good friends with any of the girls on a lot?
the guys? You know, I did not know, really anyone. They should have had Heather there
with you. I know, I know, right? Yeah, that would have been fun. That would be a nice girl dynamic.
Yeah. I, like I said, the whole thing felt like being, you know, at a new school for the first time.
Everyone is so lovely and there's so many people that I felt like I was more like a big sister to people, like,
just coming in and being like, what's going on?
How are you feeling?
Because, like, typically, it's, everyone's kind of in their own drama.
And so even though I think it's so awesome, how even just like being a contestant on The Bachelor,
like you make friendships there.
You're kind of going through the same things you can talk about it.
But sometimes it could be hard because it's like, okay, I know you're going through it,
but I need somebody to talk to me through my.
So I was the one that was like able to.
understand what was going on but like I don't have a relationship that I'm trying to like
navigate here in this paradise world so I definitely feel like I am such a fan of so many of
the men and women that are people are going to get to see you know go through their journey of
love but I was more kind of that that role if that makes sense not like because because the show
And like my, what I hope is that it's not always just about, I'm trying to facilitate them
finding love and being a champion for that and rooting for them. But we can be besties after,
you know? Okay. Yeah. It's like you can't fraternize with the cast, basically.
Kind of. Yeah. All right. So last question about Paradise, Dale Moss, and people are kind of
surprised to see him there how is he what's he like um i think dale is lovely and it would be really
cool for people to see him on the beach okay okay you're just talking about how you you know didn't
have to navigate your own relationship there were you so thankful you're like i am so grateful
that I'm watching this people try to find love
instead of being the one trying to find it
and just thanking God for Adam at home.
Yeah, I mean, it's really tough out there.
Yeah.
It's just tough out there.
And, but then there was also, like,
it was really sweet to watch people fall in love, too.
Like, that feeling and seeing that, like,
giddiness of people.
Yeah.
I feel like I'm in a very healthy relationship,
but there's nothing like when you're first, like,
I was just telling my friend this yesterday because she feels like everybody is like kind of
going further in life personally than she is and she's feeling like left behind romantically
and like family-wise like kids, you know. And I said, well, at least you get to experience that
like finding your person in the honeymoon stage of the first time. And we're all done with that.
Yeah. No, it's so sweet and so cool to.
see. And so I did love that, like, being able to, like, see people, like, be so giddy and nervous
and then, like, have these, like, really awesome dates and fall in love. Like, that was sweet to
watch. And I was like, oh, that's the best feeling. And just so thankful that, like, I'm in the
season of life that I'm at now. Like, it gave me both of, like, you know, looking at that and being
like, this is so cool to see people get to have these beautiful moments.
And in a very, like, strange way.
Like, you know, it's kind of weird that you're, you're, like, falling in love with, like,
cameras watching you everywhere.
But that makes it so cool and exciting for me because I'm like, wow, you're really going for it.
And a lot of people that would be really hard.
And, like, y'all are, like,
pushing yourself. So I love that.
But yeah, then it made me really thankful to be where I'm at now because
it was like just being back on the show just felt like a truly like this like redemptive
thing. Like I didn't know what I know now.
And I've talked about this before. I'm not like a, oh, there's just one person for
you. I don't, that's not like what I fully like believe in. And I do think like,
If I would have known what I know now, I think I probably would have just done the whole experience differently.
And I want to be able to, like, help steer people into, like, really taking advantage of the thing.
I had to learn so much.
I've had to do so much work.
It would have been hard for it to be different at any time versus now.
But, like, I loved being.
able to be there and be like, wow, like, these people are going for this and can actually
like get the best out of experience and not just be like entertaining. Like I was great at
being entertaining, but it's being able to fully like fall in love. Like that was going to be
really hard for me without looking back knowing what I know now. And now that I know more like what
love is, um, it just felt really cool to be back in and the place. It just full circle is cool.
Yeah. So you and Adam have had some cute little Instagram reels where he rates your dresses. It's been so fun, so entertaining. What kind of dress, have you given him any hints as to what kind of dress you're going to be wearing? And has his feedback. I need to know if his feedback played a role. I think he's going to love my dress. Okay. I'm going to love my dress from his feedback of things. So I feel very confident. But his feedback has been so fun. Like I.
I thought that that was just, I was worried.
I was like, is he going to be like, want something so different than what I ended up choosing?
But from the videos and how he rated them, I think he's going to really love my dress.
Is there one dress, two dresses?
Of course, I'm doing two dresses.
I didn't want to do it too either.
Hannah, when I was always going to be like, no, I want to find a dress that I love so much that I don't want to take it off.
And that is not how it goes, apparently.
because I found one that I wanted to, that I was like, I, nope, I apparently have two styles that I feel just as confident.
So for me, I, like, I still love, I, there's still one that I love the most.
Yeah, same, same, yeah.
But I was talking and people are like, it can get really annoying, especially with the type of dress that I have.
like it's going to start to not feel comfortable.
And so I wanted to have something that I felt like I could be really comfortable in.
That's also just like equally as beautiful.
And it's still like very me.
But yeah, even like my welcome party dress is like basically another wedding dress too.
Like it's ridiculous.
It's ridiculous, but it's okay.
No, it's the best.
Yeah.
You need to fully embrace every look.
Yeah. It's a great time. And I will say that if I wore my real wedding dress, the one that I walked down the aisle, I wore it to the reception for a bit. And then I said, when we really started dancing and we really did the cake cutting, I wanted to change that. Because I did want to wear that dress for the first dance and all, like a lot of the ceremonial stuff. Let me tell you, it was so huge. I had quite a hard time.
navigating the room. So as soon as I put the other one on, which was still a ball gown and still
poofy, it was a huge relief. And you don't really even understand the weight that comes with the
big, big ball gown. Yes. Well, do you from pageants? Have ever done pagants? I've never done a
I've never. You never did a big ball gown. I never did a big ball gown. No, but I feel like I
can navigate a dress okay. But yeah, I would say there's a little bit more volume to my dress. So I'm like a
little nervous about like yeah how to navigate that because I want to do I want to do our first
dance in my that I call it that's my dress but I'm yeah yeah you just I was going to do it
because I want to do it yeah because that's my dress yeah exactly the the fun dress it's the party
dress yeah you were so kind to come to my baby sprinkle last year where we talked about you
deciding whether or not you were going to do destination wedding, a smaller wedding you wanted to
keep it pretty intimate. You eventually chose France. Yes. So tell us what you can while still
keeping something surprising when all the good stuff hits Instagram. Yeah, I mean, I feel like a
crazy person for doing a destination wedding. I'm like, what, this was so dumb. It's going to be so
pretty but like just but also i didn't know how crazy the season of life was going to be yeah like i did
but didn't you did not know that they were going to ask you on paradise six weeks before
you had your wedding no i had no idea and just what that kind of like compounded on it and i knew
that even like the press of the book was going to be a lot but i i think it's going to be great once we
get there. It is going to be great. I promise you have a wedding planner, right? Yeah. Yeah. But I still
like trust them. Think about me. I'm just like, if I think people think that I could be like so
fun and just like, oh, I am I am the opposite of a go with the flow person. I'm the absolute
opposite. I want to be go with the flow person. So I don't have the capacity to handle all these
things. So I feel like I'm a type A, stuck in a type B experience right now.
Why are we the same person? And I'm just stressed out because I can't do it, but I want it
done the certain way. And so I'm just a tight little ball. I'm like, somebody just needs to like,
I just need like somebody to like pop my bubble so I can just be floaty, but I'm not at all.
so it has been a challenge once we get there it's going to be great i understand why people just
go elope or go to the courthouse that's all yeah okay as somebody who's obsessed with their
wedding and this is people might judge me for this jared and i constantly say that our wedding was
still better than the day that our kids are born no why tell me why it was legit just like a
masterpiece it was executed exactly the way all your wildest dreams like of your wedding and
beyond it was so well done thanks to our wedding planner troy williams and his whole team like he
had a team of seven people in addition to him okay yeah it was a romantic epic it was just exactly
what we wanted and um and it was the day that i remember more vividly than any other day probably
And when we say it's better than like our kid's birthday, I go, like, doesn't.
I enjoy you today way more than I enjoyed you as a one day old, you know?
So I think it makes sense.
And also it's just birthday is a big deal.
But it's a stress or a hectic day.
But you learn to love your child.
It like doubles every single day.
But anyway, you are going to be so happy.
You did it the way you did it.
I know you will be.
I would, yeah, I would be bummed if I really did just go to the courthouse probably.
like right now in the miss i'm like this will be so much easier yeah you probably just feel like
a little out of control too since it's out of the country so you feel like you can't like go there
and put your hands on it yeah like i think i'm going to be just as surprised as like when you're
like it went exactly the way i wanted to go i'm like i don't fully even know how it's going to
go i'm just having to try to trust that it's going to be great we have wedding planners that are
amazing and so that's just hard for me the last month or two is harder too because you thought that
picking out the big things months ago was going to be the real planning part but now you realize
like there's these all these little nuances yeah and that's what you worry about going according to
plan now most people tell you you can't expect everything to go according to plan and if you do
that's when you'll be disappointed so don't do that for some reason ours just really went
however our pictures went like way over so we had to rent out the space for an extra hour
to which i was like dad dad we have to we have to add another hour oh yeah i mean i would have
paid for the extra hour but also hi dad yeah good for you you know that's also a difference like
you know we're taking on it more financially so it's yeah you know that that brings another
a little pressure to everything too, but it's going to be amazing.
It's going to be amazing.
I can't wait to be there.
But I'm so excited about like, I have to remind myself, like, these are all things that I've
wanted to do, like being back on TV and like this type of way and having like my second
book come out.
Yeah.
Like, our novel come out.
Like, I'm just trying to remind myself to like be in this moment.
and it's like all the things that I've dreamed of happening,
just happening back to back to back.
So I'm super grateful and excited to be on the road
and doing this book tour soon and meeting everybody.
I mean, we're kind of even making it like my
almost like bachelor's trip with all my girls
because it really is like right before the wedding.
And just embracing like all the beauty that like life has given me.
I have to like sometimes gratitude can be hard for me.
I hate to say that, but, like, I can just get so, like, in the midst of life and can be critical, but I'm trying to remind myself, like, this is all the things that I've wanted to do. So just, like, try to be in it.
Yeah.
And when I do that, I feel so much better.
Yeah, I totally feel you on that. Sometimes you don't realize you're living your dreams.
Yeah. Yeah.
It's, and, like, you have to, like, take a second and be, like, this 10 years ago.
go I would have never imagined I would have I would have been here like this would my 20 year old
cell would be like oh my gosh you did it like this is crazy I could have never even drip
that up I'm like me either but here we are I'm so happy for you

He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't.

against school policy that sounds totally inappropriate well according to this person this is her
boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age it's even more likely that they're cheating
he insists there's nothing between them i mean do you believe him well he's certainly trying to get
this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet so do we find out if this person's

Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the on-purpose podcast,

The world's number one male tennis player.
He's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career.
Novak Djokovic!
You've been through so many injuries, losses.
I always heard himself what has Novak Djokovic done?
What goes through your mind when you're going?
lose. I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic? It's a consistent
practice. It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more
responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle. When you
reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement. I'm 38 this year. How far can I go?
How long can I push my own limits?

It was an unimaginable crime.

You and Adam are not living together right now.
You talked about this a couple months ago.
For mostly religious reasons, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I would love to know how that conversation went.
And then we're going to dive into the book.
Yeah.
But this is so interesting to a lot of people out there.
I remember I used you as clickbait.
I'm sorry for the podcast.
I was like, click here to find out why we are living together.
And there was like 10,000 clicks.
It's definitely like a different situation because we had lived together before.
But we just, our faith has been really a big part of like our relationship.
and how we've grown together as a couple and, you know, there were so many things that we
were trusting and, like, um, in our faith and like our beliefs in. And there's this one thing that
we were like, oh, like, you know, we've been together. Doesn't really matter. And we just felt
convicted to just like, okay, we're going to like fully trust God in this and in this part of
our relationship. And, um, we could do it. And it's been like, it's been like, it's an,
every way it's tough but um we're we believe that we'll just have like blessings in our marriage for it
and not like it's not to make anybody feel bad for not i mean we lived together for years like it was
just like what we felt for our relationship and just where we were and in our spirit was the best
for us and so yeah we did it and it's been great is there any part of you that's like oh and now we
have to live together again and i'm not looking forward to that completely
opponent of you.
No,
Adam is a great partner to live with.
Like,
he's like on it.
Like,
I've been like,
I'm losing so much.
Like,
but we see each other like every,
every day.
So it's not,
um,
you know,
it's,
it's more just making sure the things that we say that we value and align like
actually match the way that we live out our,
our life.
And,
um,
we kind of went to the extremes with that.
But,
you know,
I'm always trying to shake things
I love it
I think it's great
I love it I love the traditional
component to it
I told Jared that we would not live together
until we were engaged
and that is what we did
I love that
yeah
and I wouldn't have done
even that necessarily
I could have waited until we were married
but just because he didn't have a home
in L.A.
He was living with Nick by all
and Nick was like
I'm moving to another house
house. And I was like, I'm not making you live in Venice. So come on over. I got a ring on my finger
now. Yeah, totally. No, it makes so much sense. So yeah, it's been, it's been great. But also, especially
like when I am been so busy, it does suck at some points because you're just like, just want your
person with you, even if it's just to like, for the little moments and things.
you know we're getting close so it's it's been good and we feel like you know we were
called to do that for a reason and we're excited you are living in the house that you guys
bought yeah okay so he will get out of the other place soon did you sell did you get rid of the
other rental yes we were just renting that place he's he's in like this amazing like short-term
rental almost like hotel that he's been staying
yet um which has been nice because like he's he's he's going to be kind of sad because it has like
every amenity it's in like this perfect location i'm going to be sad it has like a beautiful
heated pool like sauna coal plunge pick a ball court look at that little thing like it's amazing
in the room like he has like a maid that comes and like cleanses his room up every you know week
you know so he's been loving that oh wow okay well hannah the reason that you're here really
is to talk about your new book yes you had your first novel come out mistakes we never made
it came out last year and then you kind of tease to us that there would be a follow-up of sorts not
a direct sequel right and that is coming out in a few weeks this one's called the four
engagement rings of Sybil Rain. Yes. So can you tease to us what this book is about? And do you have to read the last book? You do not have to read the last book to read this one first. It's like in the same universe. So the characters, you know, have some overlap, but totally safe to start with the four engagement reams of Civil Rain and then, you know, reading the states we never made or just read one. But.
But this book, the fun part of it, like the light, the part that makes it like this fun
beach read gives very much like forgetting Sarah Marshall vibes.
Love that.
And a year ago was a runaway bride and was like needing a much needed vacay.
And so she decides to use her ticket vouchers that she has that would have been her honeymoon
to finally go and have some time to relax.
And unfortunately, she runs into not one, but two of her ex-fiancees on the beach and has to just...
She has two ex-fiances.
Oh, yeah, we got four in game her means, girls.
Oh, that's right.
She's got more than me, yes.
She has to, like, figure out how to navigate that.
But really what the book is about is dealing with your past.
and being able to kind of like learn to love yourself first
so that you can actually receive the love that you actually deserve.
And I would say like this book ended up being a lot more personal
than I thought it was going to be because it's definitely been a journey.
A lot of people ask like, oh, like is this based on your life?
I'm like, no, thank God this has not been my life.
But a lot of the thoughts and feelings that Sybil's had, especially when it comes to commitment and being with a man that's, you know, so great for her, but feeling like she can't fully, like, her past defines her in certain ways.
Like, I've really struggled with that.
And especially in this relationship that I'm in now, there were years and seasons where, gosh, just my mistakes and beliefs about myself and beliefs about love had really.
hindered me from being able to see what was in front of me and fully receive it.
And so Sybil definitely has that part of me that when people ask how much of the book
is you, I'm like, there's a part of that that is definitely like things that I've struggled
with and have overcome.
And it's been really cool to like overcome them and get to like have Sybil had that
same happily ever after experience too.
So that's what the real book is about,
but it has all the fun, you know, parts of the beech read
that makes you just want to, like, read it in one setting preferably,
you know, with a nice, you know, cocktail in hand with some pull service.
But I'm really excited for people to read it.
I think they're really going to love it.
And I feel like it was, you know, a labor of love.
things that after the first book, people were like, we want to have, we need to know about Sybil,
so they'll have a lot of their questions answered if you did read the first book. And if you
didn't, like, you're going to have this fresh new book and character to grow to love.
So obviously you relate to the main character. Now I have to ask, with the four ex-fiances,
did you kind of model them after four X's in your life? Not really. I've been asked this once before.
no i feel like one of the characters is definitely um i think some of like the goodness of him
comes from my fiance adam like just that character there are there are parts of him that i
definitely how he can like hold sibyl in certain ways is definitely how i feel like
Adam can navigate life with me and I will say that there are other characters that
yeah I mean I like they're not like fully based off one person but yeah there could be
people that people could maybe be like oh it's kind of based off this guy that who knew me a
little but not not anything that I'm like this character I just like may have changed their
name and they have all the same little quirks and personalities and would do the same
things know but definitely had some inspiration from some people in my past yeah when hannah brown
writes a book people want to know like it's a taylor swift song yes is this about peter tyler jett
or current fealte not colton we eliminate colton from this yeah yeah um all right so when does
it come out and people can buy it anywhere books are sold i'm assuming yeah y'all pre-order now please
you can pre-order wherever books are sold but it comes out june 24th so uh i will be also going on
a book tour this time yet again um right before the wedding so you guys can check that out i'll
have like more information on my instagram um of like where all the stops are but but comes out june 24th
you can get it wherever.
I'm so excited for you guys to read it and then to be able to see everybody out on the road again.
Yeah.
And finally, when you were writing this book, how did you, like, how was it different than the first
process of writing a novel?
Which one did you prefer more?
The first one felt like easier in a weird way.
Like, it just, I don't know, it just was a little bit of an easier process.
I definitely still had pressure on myself.
Don't know me wrong.
I don't know how to not, like, put extreme amounts of pressure and stress on myself.
But the second one, I just really was shocked and so proud of how everybody loved the first one that I really wanted to make sure this one was, you know, even better in some way.
And I think because I related to Sybil even more, she's like the messier parts of me that are like entertaining for people to watch.
But when it comes to like your own life, like kind of like, kind of like.
she'd have to like navigate those types of thoughts and feelings and she's a little bit more
nuanced of a of a character and I think people are going to love her but she's messy and
she like makes the wrong decision sometimes with relationships and you're like come on girl
so it was very important for me to get her right to where it's like gosh you understand why
she does the things that she does.
Like, you have, like, compassion for her and you're rooting for her.
So it was a little bit more of a challenging task than the first one was.
Uh-huh.
But I do think it, with the help of my co-author, Emily, like, Whereby, we really, I think, stretched
as far as the writing and even, like, just in different details, I feel like the book is set in
Hawaii. So even just like really making setting more of like a character in itself and that it kind
of just helps like get people really in the world in a in a more lush way. I just feel like there
was just a lot more pressure but also like this this want to even just be better than the first
book. And I feel like people who have read it have really noticed that too, which has been
such a compliment and like we really all the hard work.
in the moments that were stressful was all worth it.
And as I love to compare you to Taylor Swift,
do you feel that now as a New York Times bestselling author,
USA Today bestselling author,
do you feel like every book needs to top itself?
Does it get stressful if it doesn't?
Yeah.
So knowing this season this was going to be in,
I had to have that like conversation on myself and my team of like,
why am I doing this and in a past it was just I just want to be able to say I've done the thing
and I really want to continue being an author and um I also want to enjoy this season and so I can
have to try to learn to not put so much pressure on myself it's like it has to be I want to know
that my work is actually better than the other one but as far as like does it have to to always
top like in other people's eyes or from the world I have to let that go but as far as what I know
the quality of my work like yeah I do want it to always be better than yeah the last like that is
important to me but as far as like there's so much that goes into these like lists and things that
are not just as it's actually way more complicated than people think like I had I had to let that
go and like just be proud of the work that I'm doing and try to be in this season of
life where I am getting married at this season and doing everything I can to get this book
in people's hands because I am really proud of it.
And I think if people love the first one, they're going to love this one even more.
And if you're intrigued, read this book because I'm like, I think it's even better than the
first one.
So, yeah, I'm trying to find that balance of like truly just being proud of myself for knowing
that I'm getting better.
and that being enough.
And you're going to be on Paradise soon after this book launches.
So that will get your name out there again.
And it could even numbers-wise.
But you're right.
What's important is that you feel like it's a better piece of work,
piece of art.
And we're really happy for you.
You're just killing it.
Like everything, Hannah Brown rocks it.
I was so excited to see you going on Paradise.
You do make me want to watch it more.
and I feel like that's what production.
How am I feeling about going, just like watching Paradise?
Like with it new like, no, not about me.
Oh, yeah, like, no, yeah, yeah, like watching it with a new production crew.
Yeah.
Like, it's like melancholy.
Yeah.
It's so weird because I've always felt like I'm rooting for the people behind the scenes
because they were the ones that like set me up with this life that I have now.
So I love them so much.
So I do feel like I'll be a little bit detached for it.
but I also really want the show to do well
because I want the whole franchise to continue.
Totally.
And if it doesn't do well, then, you know,
that would be so sad to have this.
Yeah, and I don't think it'll ever, like, go away forever,
but if it does go away for a little while, you know, still.
So it would be bizarre.
I think people are going to be really excited
and there's going to be a lot of newness
and just all the things that Bachelor in Paradise is,
but just with like some fresh eyes.
And so I don't know, give it a shot.
Oh, you know I'm giving it a shot.
I could never have Paradise on and not watch it, plus I have the show.
But I love Paradise.
I hope it's successful in every way from being entertaining and fun and lighthearted.
Because that's the best part of it is how comedic it is and self-aware.
And then I hope that we get some good couples out of it too, some long-lasting couples.
Yes.
And then I would love for you to come after the wedding to tell us.
that it was the best day of your life, and then to also tell us about how you have two
uteruses, which I think you told me about back in person. Also, this isn't news. I've known
about her two uteruses. I know it. I saw pictures. No. But that's like a whole other conversation
because I love talking about women's health. And you had been diagnosed with PCOS beforehand.
And now that you guys are married and probably going to start trying to have kids, that would be a
perfect podcast to put that all together already you are the best thank you so much for
spending so much time with us my gosh of course no I'm always always love getting to catch up
and um yeah excited to talk soon again all right see yeah bye thank you all right guys that's been
