Every case that is a cold case that has DNA.
Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
On the new podcast, America's Crime Lab, every case has a story to tell.
And the DNA holds the truth.
He never thought he was going to get caught.
And I just looked at my computer screen.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHartRadio.
It's almost famous podcast.
We are so pumped to still be at the Bachelor Mansion.
Yes, we are celebrating everything good in the world.
We've got the golden bachelorette's here.
We've got some of Bachelor Nation's absolute best,
and Joe and Serena are definitely on that.
list. Joe and Serena, welcome to the almost famous podcast once again.
Thanks, Ben. Thanks for having us. Hi. Now, you guys are really good at this. This is intimidating
from me because you guys are also professional podcasters. You know what? Kalin and Dean said that
to us as well and I'm like, I feel like that's a very generous compliment for me. I have
you, you've been doing this for a while. I feel I'm still slightly new to this. Yeah. And I had to
like redo the beginning of our podcast multiple times because I kept screwing it up. But we blamed on the
fact that he's like back at the mansion and like he's nervous tonight because he got sent home last time.
He's here. Well, he's never been here. Yeah. It was my first time. He was here for five hours. Joe, how
actually long were you in the mansion? I want to say, so we get here at what time, what time?
7.30 p.m. And I was sent early limo. Do you know? I was an early limo. Okay. I was an early limo.
And I was sent home at probably, I want to say it was probably like 8 a.m. Now, I'm going to ask you some
questions mostly because I'm selfish and I've always wanted to know this. Please. So,
My biggest concern.
Okay, so when I went on The Bachelorette, my buddies came over.
Just don't go home night one.
Well, yeah, they're like, don't go home night one.
And they said this.
They literally said this to me.
They're like, there's a lot of studs there.
Like, we think you could be there for at least two weeks.
And I was like, well, what the hell does that mean?
Like, I think I can be there until the very end.
But they're like, there's a lot of like really cool dudes that come to that.
And so I showed up to L.A.
And I was like, all I need to do is make it past night one.
so that I don't have to tell my friends and family like, hey, this didn't work out.
Now, obviously, this worked out for you.
You've done incredible from it.
It's every fear that, like, I would have had you've, like, far accomplished.
You've given those night one people hope.
But you're also an anomaly.
Yeah.
So when you got back in the limo on night one, were you like?
I was devastated.
Yeah, devastated.
But also for me, it would go more to personal confidence.
Yeah, it was.
It was.
So my friend.
basically said, like, I think you're either going home night one or you're going to be there
till the end. And I kind of thought the same, but I was like, in my head, I was like, I'm not
going to go home night one. And as soon as I walked in, as soon as I had my first conversation,
I was like, there's nothing I could do. I can't save myself. I'm actually going to go home.
And yeah, I mean, it was, it was terrible. But when it happens, like the next day, I kind of
just laughed it off. I was like, there's literally nothing I could do except laugh about it.
And then the show doesn't air for like three months. So you prep and you're just like, okay,
like, and my cousin, she was a big fan of this show. She's like, they don't even show night one
people. Like, you're not, no one's even going to know. And everyone knew. And then everyone
knew and ended up working out. I got lucky. Yeah, he became the guy. I mean,
honestly, it's been a good look for you now. Serena, how long were you in the mansion?
So I've never been to the mansion. She's never been here either. This is my first time here,
which is actually very exciting.
Why is that?
So I was a COVID season.
So we filmed in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania?
Yeah.
Memicol,
which I think you guys filmed there too.
I came for a date.
I was in a date thing.
Were you on that date?
No, I wasn't on that date.
But wasn't there a season,
not to cut you off,
but wasn't there like,
wasn't like part of like,
oh, but you weren't on,
Jojo was on your season.
Okay, never remember.
Okay.
So we were the second.
Sorry.
We were the second.
We were the second.
We were the second.
We'll dig.
I remember Jojo more than you.
Cool.
That's great.
Thank you.
Just a little flashback moment.
No, so we were the second COVID seasons.
There was Tasia and Claire's season.
And then we had our season.
And, yeah, so I've never been here.
What does it feel like to be in the mansion for the first time then?
It's actually very cool.
I was excited to come here because I'm like in the minority of people in this franchise
that have never set foot in the mansion.
And we obviously watch the show and recap it now.
So yeah, it's cool.
It's like an iconic location.
Like, even if you aren't an active watcher of the Bachelor franchise, like, everyone knows
the Bachelor Mansion.
I was going to say, I wish they had, I wish they had heat, but I feel, I feel like they might
have got it going.
It's getting better in here.
It's getting warmer.
No, my glass was frosted when we first recorded in here.
It's getting better.
Well, California's 40 degrees a night.
I never expected this.
It's horrible.
And we're up in the hills.
Now, it is beautiful.
The house is gorgeous.
It is iconic.
There's no furniture in here.
I mean, it's absolutely empty because I think they literally.
just use it to film the show now.
Oh, really?
I don't know.
I was, I was, I mean, when I walked in, I was like,
there's no way they moved all this out for us.
I mean, I highly doubt the owners are like in need of,
like, I would be surprised if like Bachelors paid off that mortgage by now.
You know, they've been using it for so many years.
I think they're loving owning this house.
Yeah, this is the best investment that family's ever made is this property.
I'll take this investment any day of the week.
Yeah.
So it's your first time in the mansion.
You've been breaking down the show on your podcast, which is called.
Happy Hour. Bachelor Happy Hour. And you have been co-host now officially for how long?
We started in July, July, August, October. Almost six months. Six months we've been working together.
Is it fun to do together? It is. It's something that we had talked about prior and we both felt comfortable going into it. We had did some podcast together. I was part of ClickBate, which was the other Bachelor Nation podcast. And she was a guest and helped me co-host that a few times. And it just was kind of seamless. And it was something.
You know, like people like, oh, I don't want to work with my significant other.
But like we, it's easy for us.
And it's not like we're not on top of each other.
It's not every day.
You know, you film a podcast once a week, twice a week.
So it's easy.
Yeah.
The first time we ever co-hosted together was with Zach, Shellcross, the last Bachelor.
We did a live podcast in Atlanta.
And I was her first like podcast.
Like in front of a live audience?
Yeah.
In front of a live audience, we'd never co-hosted together.
I didn't have that much podcasting experience.
I mean, I did one season, and Joe had done a lot.
And I was like, they're going to send us out there live tonight together and just see how this goes.
And actually, it went great.
We had an amazing time.
I think it would have been different if I was, like, joining clickbait, which was, like, really Joe had been a part of for so long.
This felt fun because it was like, we were both joining Happy Hour.
It was, like, new to both of us.
and we're talking about something that, like, we have been a part of.
Serena, I'm truly, I'm a mess.
Serena is, she'll act like she doesn't, like, she's nervous.
She doesn't know how it's going to go.
She is a professional.
She's been a professional from the beginning.
She's extremely articulate.
And, like, honestly, I lean on her.
And she's always there.
So, yeah, you're really nice.
You're really good.
You're really good, too.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devon.

such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert

if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal
boot camp designed to be hell on earth. Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison
life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next
six months.
The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.

impacting your very legacy.
Hi, I'm Danny Shapiro.

we continue to be moved and inspired by our guests and their courageously told stories.
I can't wait to share 10 powerful new episodes with you,

The natural, like, qualities of being a podcaster.
And you two obviously show it.
I remember when Ashley and I had a kind of a crossover episode a couple months ago
with you two.
You were just getting started.
Yeah.
That was right at the beginning.
Right at the beginning.
That was like maybe like one of the second week.
I don't know.
You got a good co-host.
How much easier is it, though, to do this in person opposed to Zoom?
Zoom, it does.
It's just more fun in person.
Yeah, it almost feels weird.
Like, it feels like I'm having too much fun.
Like, it's almost feels like, it's too easy.
It's too easy.
We're like, I don't know how long these conversations are going.
Yeah.
We're on Zoom.
I have a very clear, like, I have a timer.
Yeah.
Timestamp.
Oh, I set a timer usually when we're on Zoom, but we were just recording with Dean
and Hale and we probably could have gone for an hour.
Sure.
Because you just start chatting.
Yeah.
Life helps, which I think is great.
And that's where we're here.
I mean, that's why we, you know, have the mansion.
That's what we all came to the mansion is to catch up with everybody to
celebrate with everybody. It's the holiday season. And to be at the mansion, I think, is a uniquely
cool experience for everybody because it does bring back a lot of memories for some. And then also
for like the two of you who haven't spent as much time here, it's just cool to see. Like,
it's cool to be at the mansion. I was just facetiming my aunt as I showed you because she's a
huge fan. I was like, I'm here. I want to show you this place while I'm here. And she was freaking out.
Like, oh, there's the rose ceremony room. There's the living room. What major memories does it bring back for
you. Because you spent a lot of time here. A lot of time here. You spent two seasons here. Yeah, mostly
Bachelorette memories. Like a lot of like fraternities type stuff. Like I walked outside and I was
telling Jess, this is like the yard that we worked out in. And this is the loop I did when I wanted to
run. Oh, it's her first time here. It's her first time here. It's my first time since I was the
bachelor. I'm going to walk into this building since I was the bachelor. And so for me,
but I guess you spend so much more time here as a contest. Oh, 100%. And like here's the two bathrooms we
used.
Yeah.
And like there's 20 of us, 25 of us at the beginning.
Like how wild would you,
that is that?
And this is the shower doesn't have warm water.
And you turn it on.
That was the perk of being at Nemocallin.
Nemocallin was beautiful.
Yeah.
You guys all had your own rooms.
Two people per room, double sinks, a shower, a massive bathtub.
It was like, the rooms were amazing.
Like, I was like, this is luxury and it's fine.
And then they were like, you guys are lucky.
Like, That's your mansion.
two bathrooms for everybody and you guys have double sinks for two people but it is like so what you
did miss is when they're not filming is like okay three hours still rose ceremony or three hours still
cocktail party and then you have like mad chaos in here of dudes trying to shower trying to get a nap
in imagine with girls I came and girls is wild it's three hours of like running around this place
crazy like group showers like somebody leave the shower running like it's wild but it's so fun when
you're like done with it you're like that was a like that was a bunch of 25 to 30 year olds just
being like crazy children yeah for as many weeks as we're here it's like camp it's like
adult camp but as bachelor and we pulled up and I said this and I really did mean I had this like
weird ability when I get nervous I just want to pee and so that's a real thing nervous bladder
I do it I have a too so every day like every day as I was the bachelor and we're in the
mansion we would stop in front of the gate and the I would the producer would be like
pause the gate and I would go and pee in the bushes outside the gate before we got back in
the car and pulled back in because I'd be nervous every day of my life that I was here
because you never really feel like you belong to be the bachelor and then you walk in through
these front doors you take a right and all the girls are usually sitting there and you're like
I'm back.
Like hey everyone.
I don't know why you're still here but like so happy that you're still here this morning.
Who was going to date?
Who was going to date?
I also just took a piss outside.
Yeah.
Don't go in that bush over there.
Actually, one of the producers has pictures every time I did.
So he was like 30 pictures of me in the bushes just like standing there
looking back at him.
That's actually hilarious.
But like mostly bachelor's stories.
Just really cool memories of like the dudes just being dudes in this house.
Some of the house is blocked off though.
So like the room we're sitting right now, never been in before.
Okay.
Oh, really?
Yeah, never been here.
Wow.
Didn't even know it existed.
So a few questions.
I know these are quick one-hitter podcast.
And so I want to get to some stuff that I find very interesting.
interesting. You guys are obviously married. You're living in New York City, just if in case
anybody to know that. Has there been anything that's felt different since the two of you
have gotten married? No. No. I think we've such a boring answer. We get that question a lot.
And I think that if you don't live together before you're married, then that would be the big
difference because I know there are people that you don't want to wait until marriage to live together.
We lived together. We got married at the courthouse, felt the same.
same felt got married at a wedding kind of felt the same i mean there is that like aspect of like
i don't know i will say like there is an added layer i think after our second wedding that feels
like it's there of like we are in this for like the long haul if we want to break up we got to get a
divorce yeah we got to get a divorce that's so much more work you know so you're really
committed to this person and when you get like when you get engaged on tv it's kind of like
so heightened and so intense that yeah not that it like lessened being
marriage, but it, I guess it made every, I've never in my life felt more elated and on like this
crazy emotional high than the 24 hours after our engagement. I can never, I will never replicate
that feeling ever. It's just not possible. It was so insane. It was the crazy thing I've ever done
my whole life was getting engaged after 19 days. Like nothing and we were so in love. We still are.
We're more in love. I would say now than we were them. But like, if we're going backwards,
we're doing it rough. But you know what I mean? Like it was the crazy.
I mean, you got engaged on TV.
Yeah, and I don't have that same experience.
No.
I have the next 24 hours.
Maybe that's a good thing.
Oh, goodness.
Okay.
What is happening?
Backwards.
It's going backwards.
I'm going backwards.
And I will say, like, getting married at the courthouse was also a really crazy feeling
because that was also quite spontaneous.
The wedding, there was so much buildup to.
Best day of my life.
But so much build up that, like, it doesn't feel like there's, like,
it doesn't feel like there's, like, a shift in our lives as much because there was so much
preparation going into it, if that makes sense?
Yeah.
Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency, and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.

Pull that, turn this.
It's just...
I can do it my ice close.

My name is Ed.
Everyone say, hello, Ed.
From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin, so, like, it's not, like...
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian.
with a story that no one expected to hear.
Well, 22nd of July 2015,
a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack,
where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Well, my wife and I were talking today because it's like it's really weird to be going back to the mansion.
We were like out to lunch and super chill.
And I was like, the last time I was going to the mansion, I was like panicking.
Like I was like pacing in my room, be like, what am I doing?
This is crazy.
I don't belong here.
I was like, it's so weird to be going back to this place that, like, the last time I was there is, like, not PTSD.
That sounds very traumatic, but just, like, I have really, like, traumatic memories from the ones that still, like, haunt me a little bit.
And she was asking me all these questions.
And I was telling her, I was like, you know, I'm almost envious that I couldn't have made a relationship work from this show.
Because of that high and because of the wildness, the weirdness of this whole thing, but the fact that it brings really great people together.
And we've seen great.
You get to share it with somebody as well.
get to share with somebody. Like I still, like, that's the one thing I regret is that my wife now
was not on the season of The Bachelor that I was, you know? But I don't have those, I mean,
I have the elated like, this was crazy. What did we do? But it like kind of didn't get like exciting.
It kind of went like, oh, what did we do? You know, but it is like, this is an amazing like show
when it works. Yeah. And you guys have worked. And so you got married. Things don't feel that much
different, but you are still, like, progressing in your relationship. Now, flashback kind of
change again. You had Wells officiate your wedding. I remember Wells and I hang out in golf all the time
and he was telling me he was doing your wedding. Yeah, I saw some good videos of you guys from Dean and
Kaelin's wedding. Oh, yeah. Wells and I have a good time together. But he was so, I mean,
Wells is great. I love him so much. But he, he was really serious about officiating your wedding.
I golfed with him maybe two weeks before
and he had already started taking notes
and I officiated some weddings
from my cousins and stuff
and he was asking me all these questions
and he had all these things in his head
so two questions there
why did you choose him and then like
are you happy you chose Wells?
Yeah so we
I was just like
I don't know it just came to me
I'm like you know what would be amazing
and this was like a year prior to our wedding
this is probably like
right before right after we got married
the courthouse. Because we were already planning our wedding when we got married at the courthouse.
Yeah, I would say this is kind of when we started here. Yes, because he had texted when we got married
at the courthouse, he said, I never have been fired so quickly. So I must have asked him, like,
days before. We must ask him days before. Yes. And we didn't tell him we were getting married at the
courthouse. He's like, wait. He's like, I'm so confused. Have I been punked? And I consider
Wals a good friend. And he's also like been a part, like, my show wasn't the bachelor,
Bachelor at my show was Bachelor in Paradise and he was he has been there and been there for me the
entire time yeah um like if we were in paradise and i wasn't with joe like i was at the bar at walt
so he was just such a like a big part of of my journey and then ours um and i honestly i didn't even
think he would say yes i was like he's probably like this is going to be a pain in the ass and i just
texted him i was just like hey wells you want to officiate what like are you serious um and honestly like
I don't think he could have done a better job and we I couldn't be happier like he was he was great and
like everyone at our wedding was like this was so much fun and he yeah he crushed it like literally
crushed it yeah no I like literally got emotional when he said yes because it was he has to charge
from now on yeah he's that good no he's so talented and he's so amazing and like he we are very relaxed
people like we were like yeah whatever you want to say like say it like we don't care like we are already
married we want this to be fun and romantic and he really was like no like he didn't roll off that like
nonchalant like attitude that we have he was like yeah sure whatever like you don't care i don't
he was like he took it so seriously and i got him i got him too with joe he loved that joe yeah
yeah because i said in the beginning of my vows i basis i was like um i remember walking down on the beach
in seeing your...
Have you not seen this?
I'll show you a video after.
The beginning of my vows, I go,
you know, I remember walking down on the beach,
you know,
in seeing your,
your beautiful smile,
your curly hair.
Brown eyes.
You're brown eyes.
And I have seen this.
And I said,
and I said,
Wells,
I'm so happy you're here.
It really got it.
And it didn't register at first
and that you see him in the video like,
oh.
Oh,
Oh, my gosh.
That was good.
That was good.
It was, we've said it, like, we've said a million times, like, asking Wells to marry us was
one of the best decisions we made, and we are so lucky and grateful.
He said, yes.
Like, it was awesome.
For sure.
We had him on the podcast, and he was talking about just the dynamics of your two families.
Oh, yeah.
He was explaining every character within your families.
And I...
Him and Sarah are such social butterflies.
They, like, made their way around the room.
They got to know so many people.
it was great.
That's what they've been to do
a thousand weddings
in the last two years.
They are wedding pros.
They're really good at it.
They are really good at wedding.
He met my parents.
He's like,
yeah, like,
this is exactly what I thought.
That was the wrong question.
Yeah.
It's Big Joe, right?
Big Joe.
Big Joe.
And then he was telling me
that your family is so beautiful.
He was like,
literally like,
this was when we're in Orlando
for a golf tournament
and he's like,
her family's so, like,
beautiful.
Then you have Big Joe
and all this.
And he was going through the list.
It sounded awesome.
Yeah.
So well's the efficient.
Two final questions for you.
Kind of what's next.
I mean, obviously you have the podcast going on.
Again,
when you're living in New York City,
kind of what's coming up in your lives
that you're excited about?
Or, you know,
if I answered that question right now,
I'd say, I'm just really content
and it's really awesome being content.
Yeah, I think we're just, we're chilling.
I mean, we got the podcast,
that's your happy hour.
I'm going to be on a new show coming out,
The Goat.
Yeah.
That's right.
Let's chat about that a little bit.
Yeah, that's, well, I mean,
I can't,
say much. I just know it's coming out. I tried to get him to say stuff on our podcast.
What can you say? What can you say? That I was on the show called to call and it's going to be
coming out next year at some time and watch it because I think it's going to be very entertaining.
Joe and I's lives are very intertwined because we live together in a very small apartment and we both
work from that apartment. So having him gone filming a show without me because last show we did
was together was very bizarre and I missed him a lot. Actually, it was very bizarre. Actually, it was very
very happy when he came home.
But I think that's good to miss each other a little bit sometimes.
Yeah, if you don't, it's a problem.
Yeah, that's true.
I've been on a month-long travel spree right now.
I've been home, so excited to get home.
So tired.
Getting home is the best feeling.
And my wife is like so excited for me to be home.
You know what it feels like to be somebody that you have another human and be like,
I just want you be home?
I'm like, goodness, I feel so good.
Yeah.
That's just like a warming.
Where have you been?
Just Indiana.
Yeah.
L.A.
L.
It's like a weird...
It's always busy in December in our world.
Everybody pushes everything at the end of the year.
Yeah.
And then it's like holiday parties,
holiday events,
finallies.
I look at my wife.
Like, she's out there somewhere right now.
I don't know what she's at.
But like, I'm like,
you're so pretty and you're so beautiful.
And you also want me to be home with you.
That's weird.
Like you want to be hanging out.
Like you get sad when I'm not around.
Yeah.
That feels really good.
That's a good thing.
And that's weird to her.
So I hope that.
