Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Everyone thinks they'd never join a cult. But it happens all the time to people just like you. And people just like us.
Starting point is 00:01:14 I'm Lola Blanc and I'm Megan Elizabeth. We're the hosts of Trust Me, a podcast about cults, manipulation, and the psychology of belief. Each week we talk to fellow survivors, former believers, and experts to understand why people get pulled in and how they get out. Trust me. New episodes every Wednesday on Exactly Right. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:37 I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story. Does anyone know what show they've come to see? It's a story. It's about the scariest night of my life. This is Wisecrack.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:50 It's I do Part 2, and I'm back on the pod, once again. And it is one of your favorite goldins, those that you don't recognize my voice. Susan Knowles. And today is going to be a really fun episode because I have one of my dearest Bachelor Nation friends here, Teresa Miss. Teresa in the house. Hi, Katie. Hi, Susan. It's so good to see. I know, I know. You can tell them how, I guess, a few weeks ago, maybe three weeks ago. Yeah, he went on June 21st, but you came to my house. And I felt like, wow, it felt like she lives here forever. You were so. good. I was all set up for you.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Jersey's like part of me too, but I kept saying, Teresa, I love North Jersey and all your friends and everything. This isn't North Jersey. It was Central Jersey. I'm saying, oh my God, so she considers this North Jersey. No, it's Central Jersey. I had such a good time. We did. We ate well. We drank well. We shopped well. And I even got her to go on the beach. However, she wore long sleeves and covers. But I don't want to get to him. No, honestly, I had so many things planned for you. I was going to take you to about nine different beach towns, and you saw these boutiques,
Starting point is 00:04:09 and you said, that's it. That's all I want to do. We saw four, didn't we? It was at least four beach towns. Okay, we saw four. Yeah. Yes, that's plenty. And I had such a good time.
Starting point is 00:04:21 You have a lovely home. Great friends. And I would come back so we could see the other five. Awesome. Okay, I'm ready. All right. So today on this podcast, I do part two, it's all about love and loss and finding love again. So today I thought it would be fun to dive into some topics that are a reality for us golden's.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And obviously, we got some things happening in the bachelor world that we've got to talk about too, don't you think? Yeah, I think so. I know. Okay. So we gave him a little background of where we've been. For you, you have lost a heart. husband you want to share just to update everybody yeah sure so i it's really hard to believe but it will be 11 years on veterans day this year that my husband passed away so now i it's i'm i was 61 when he
Starting point is 00:05:15 died i'm about to be 72 it's it's very very hard to believe when when my husband first passed away i don't know if it's the reaction of every woman but i really thought it was the end i said i will never have sex again. I will never fall in love again. I'll never be with a man again. And that was the way it was. I cried for like 14 months. And then finally one day I woke up and I said to my daughter, that's it. I just want to go out to dinner with a man and she put me on match. And the rest was history. So I've got a lot of, I had it down pat, how to get on match, how to do match. And sometimes we hate match. You know, I've done the same thing. And everybody knows that I was married and had three children, six great-grandchildren, and we're still friends, but we are
Starting point is 00:06:01 divorced. And I did find love just this year. It's just been five months. And it's his first time in the United States. So so many people online on social media have comments and beautiful ones, but you know, Teresa, some negativity out there. He just wants a green card and he's using you for your money. I wish I had all that money. No. No. No. It's about love. It's about love. It's the most important thing in the world. I mean, how wonderful for you that you found love. I'm really so thrilled and so happy for you, Susan. I want it for everybody. I want it for everybody. So what approach now, especially after the show, that we used to do back in the day when we were young, you met people out or somebody introduced you, right? Yeah. And then we tried the dating apps after we had our lives with kids and husbands and such.
Starting point is 00:06:59 And now, when we first got off the show, were you jumping back on? No, I wasn't at all. You know what I did? I jumped back into my life because I really do have a beautiful life. I mean, I've got a beautiful family. I have seven grandsons. I am more content now than I've ever been. I mean, the show taught me so much.
Starting point is 00:07:22 incredible, wonderful experience, but it kind of really did teach me to be happier with what I have. And it's not, I really want love. I really want to be in love. I think it's the most wonderful feeling in the world. I am open to it. I want to explore that. But it's not like I'm desperate to do that. Right. You're fine by yourself. Yes. I'm fine. Yeah. And you know what to say, you know, thank goodness you don't have to go on dating apps. But even if you go on a dating app, I'm 72. There is no man at the age of 72 who is coming in their search criteria. A 72-year-old woman, it just doesn't happen.
Starting point is 00:08:00 You got to go younger. Yes. It's the way of the world. So I'm probably okay with a 90-year-old. And, you know, it's funny the dating trend right now. I mean, think about it. Everybody splits the bill or they don't call. They only text.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Or how about this one? Being ghosting. Mm-hmm. Have you been? I was ghosted. No, I actually have not been ghosted. I haven't said that's not nice. That's so not nice to do that. It's a terrible thing.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I was like, what? Are you serious? You know what it is? It's just like the next day after a date, I guess they aren't brave enough to say, I don't think that we are a good fit. So you have to be able to say that and be an adult. Don't you think it's easy to do it by text? I mean, it's just the text. You don't even have to look at them.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Yeah, just a text. Just say it. Just say, I'm sorry. I had a wonderful time, but I just don't think we're the right person for each other. That's it. That's all you have to do. So ghosting is not nice. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:03 When I got stood up, I called it. Back in the day, it was being stood up, and I got ghosted. And I went to this place, and I sat at the bar. I had a glass of wine, and I'm never really early. And that's all I'm going to say. And, you know, there was this lovely couple sitting next to me, and I had a full glass of wine. I don't drink that fast. And I'm just sitting there, sitting there, and they're looking at me.
Starting point is 00:09:28 And I finally shared with them. Well, you had to hear them. The husband was like, if he does show up, I'm going to pull the chair when he goes to sit down. And the woman, I said to the woman, what do you think? One glass of wine and go, or do I order a second? And she goes, wow. I said, no, that wasn't really a question. I'm not ordering a second.
Starting point is 00:09:48 I mean, it hasn't happened to you, right? No, it hasn't. Well, thankfully, it hasn't. No, but what would happen? I will tell you that every time I would go out to a date, I had it down to a science. I knew how many times you should text each other, and then when it moves to a phone call and how many phone calls
Starting point is 00:10:10 until you finally decide to meet, and then there would be times when right away you would know that it wasn't work out. Within the first two minutes. Right. But I would go there with such a great attitude. Like, I'm going to have a great time. This person went out of their way to meet me. So let's just have fun. And I would always offer to split the bill. And then if it didn't work out, then you just tell them the next day. You know, it's funny. I do as well. Offer to split the bill. And many, many have said, oh, thank you very much. And I will. I know I'll never see them again. The first date I should hear not on your life. You know, thank you. It was very nice of you to offer, but it's a gentleman. But I also get that so many people are dating so much on dating apps that they can't afford to meet three people in a week. Oh, my gosh, you're right. That's true.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Most men would just say to me, no, my dad would never let me live it down. That's nice. So they would say that. And, you know, I've made friends. I've stayed friends with some of these people. So it's all good. Have you heard of silver divorce or a gray divorce by chance? No, I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I have no idea. It's when people 50 plus get divorced after a very long-term marriage. Why do you think people are divorcing so much later in life? And do you know anyone? I really do think it's because, and I didn't think of this before, maybe they wait until their children are gone and out of the house. maybe there were underlying problems the entire time. And then, you know, with women, it takes them a long time to leave and they build it up and
Starting point is 00:11:53 build it up and build it up. And then all of a sudden, and I heard this from so many men, they'd say to me, oh, my God, I was blindsided. I had no idea that my wife felt that way. And all of a sudden, she just, she left me. But with a woman, it takes a long time to get there. But when she gets there, it's the end. It's over.
Starting point is 00:12:11 There's no turning back. You hit the nail right on the head. I mean, I did it. I waited to my kids. We're out of high school. And they even said to me, mom, why did you wait so long? We weren't people that argued or fought or anything. We just kind of lived separately.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Yeah. Yeah. And to know anyone who's done this, I have to say yes. And in my experience, the people that I know, one of the partners were gay. Wow. Yeah, that happens. It was a healthy marriage. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And there was no bad points, but it was a man. It was actually two. And they came out later in life. And it's sad, but. And that is sad. Yeah. Yeah, they still said that they have to repress that the entire marriage. And that's that you just hit on another point that's really great, that people grow differently
Starting point is 00:13:01 and they grow and they have different goals in life and different passions. And so you start growing apart. And it's really hard to be married. It's hard to be married for a really long time. No one told me it was the hardest job you were ever going to have. Yeah, absolutely. Like, you can't, what happens is you start taking that person for granted. Instead, what you have to do is look at them with new eyes every day.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And like, this is why you chose this person. And re-event the exciting times. I mean, I'm sure things go stale. It was just raising kids and things like that. A lot happens then about not doing each. other, you know, any favors? Because you were so occupied with your raising your children, keeping your house, keeping your career. But today, now, I don't know how you feel, but it's the best time to date or fall in love because I don't have to worry about all that. You focus
Starting point is 00:13:58 on one another. Exactly. And I think that was a misconception that younger people had about us, that life was over. But we, all of us, on the show, and so many more women in this world, are so full of life and energy and desire and passion and we want to do things and we've got we feel like we really do feel like there's so much life left to live so we're a force to be reckoned with and these young people should feel so inspired by that and not fear getting old because of who we are exactly and we're a perfect example that there's life is full of possibilities and it's not over one of my favorite lines was this is my last chapter in life, and I hope it's the longest chapter. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Being said, I feel so much differently about who I am. Do you know what I mean? You have to love yourself, and a lot of the young people believe they love themselves, but they're not there. Yeah, and you know what, at this point, if you don't know who you are, you really know who you are and you know what's important in your life. So you do love yourself. And you feel that's why I was saying before that,
Starting point is 00:15:07 feel more at peace with myself. And he's exactly, right. And it's so great that you've found Frederico. Oh, yes, it is. Yes, it is. He met my children and my little granddaughter, four years old. We were all in the pool at one point. And she looks over and she goes, Mimi, you like him.
Starting point is 00:15:23 I said, that's Frederic. Yes, I know. She said, he loves Mimi. She said, he does. I said, and Mimi loves him. She said, you do? I said, yes. She goes, okay, and jumped right into his arms.
Starting point is 00:15:35 That was it. Oh, that's so nice. It was so cute. And my boys, they, you know, shook his hand. How you doing? They can't understand the accent. My sister's really dry, but. Oh, that's, how long is he staying?
Starting point is 00:15:50 That's really nice. He'll be here two weeks, but we have been on the go. On the go. Oh, good. Good. That's awesome. All right, we're going to do a little, I just want your point on this. Say a woman is listening to this podcast right now.
Starting point is 00:16:05 She lost her husband. husband of 25 years, but now it's been three years and she's ready to start dating again. What do we think should be the first place she should start? Well, she should tell everyone in her life that she's ready and she's looking for someone and be, you know, be specific. Just tell everybody, I'm looking for someone. Do you know anyone? So she should start with her circle of family and friends. When she does go to the supermarket, She should smile at somebody. Keep your eyes open.
Starting point is 00:16:38 She should be open and maybe even like mentally project that she's open and that she's open and that she's looking for someone because if you avert your eyes every time you see someone you're interested in, it will go nowhere. And I know that's the hardest thing to do because you don't even know if that person is married or if they're gay. No, you don't know. But you know, remember back when everybody said, you meet them at the grocery store, hang out in the fruit aisle.
Starting point is 00:17:04 guys, that never worked. However, this girl right here, when I was up in central Jersey, if you will, she goes to the shake store and it's like a healthy grocery store, not like a legmins or anything. It's small. But it is a good place to meet because you have to wait for your shake. And I remember us being there, shopping and they're buying snacks, right? Yeah, yeah. And there are people that we strike our conversations. You're right. And then also, if they haven't tried a dating website, then I would try a dating website. I would too. You just have to be really careful and selected, but it works.
Starting point is 00:17:42 It can work. It does. It absolutely does. That's how I met Frederique, obviously. I know. Or can you do a new hobby? Like when you do different new things that you haven't done before, you may meet somebody. And sometimes you don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Yeah, go to yacht clubs. I don't know. Go golf. Right? We went golfing. There's a lot of guys. Oh, gosh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I used to think that's hell. I took up golf. so I could go meet somebody on the golf course. They're mostly married. Oh, my God. Yeah, they were kind of more interested in their golf game than in looking at it. I know, I know. And we did good, though.
Starting point is 00:18:13 That was a lot of fun. You're really good. You're so good. I got even better, though, I got to tell you. Oh, see that. We've got to come out for round two. Yeah. Or you can come down.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Yeah. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. Do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him
Starting point is 00:19:06 because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. Starting point is 00:20:21 December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush. Parents hauling luggage. kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order criminal justice system is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it.
Starting point is 00:21:28 They had no idea who it was. Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable. These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA. Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was.
Starting point is 00:21:58 was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, got you. On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors, and you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases,

How do you feel about the older people getting scammed when they do try to go online?
Starting point is 00:23:34 Has anything like that ever happened to you? It hasn't happened to me, but I do work in an industry where we have seen it happen to our clients. So, and I, well, actually, it has been attempted on me. You know, what happens is, you know, the whole trick is that they say, hey, my brother saw your photo, but he doesn't have an account. So could you email me? And so, and that's the scam to get you off the website and then talk to you about how beautiful you are and then show you a picture of themselves, which is not really themselves. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Do you think, is that what they call catfishing? Is that catfish? I think so. I think so. I'm not really, it's, wow, it's really, it's very prevalent. So it's, it happens. There are so many of them out there and I've got it. I've been on long enough to see.
Starting point is 00:24:21 They'll use the word M instead of I am. It'll just be M, this, that, that, and it's like, big. And they ask you a billion questions. Your favorite this, your favorite that before long, they need money. Right. Yes, this, I'm sorry, if you want to hear this, this woman kept on wiring $25,000, $25,000, finally, it was $50,000. And we stopped and called her son. And she was all, she said, no, no, no, I'm getting my nails and I'm getting my hair done.
Starting point is 00:24:47 I'm going to meet him at the airport. But he can't leave unless I wire him this $45,000. And it's sad because some women are just that lonely. that they will fall for itself. And they believe. They believe. I looked up catfish is when they don't use their pictures, their real pictures.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Oh, right. Well, that's the same as scamming, you know. Yeah, same. People have to be really careful. Yeah, right. We have to warn everybody. I know. If they have broken English and bad grammar,
Starting point is 00:25:16 and it looks like a picture, photo from the internet, then I think beware. And they get three of them now, too, so it really looks legit. Like, look at them here, You're looking at them here. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:26 They look the same. It's funny, Theresa, I've always wanted to be a person that helps men do their profile and their pictures. Oh. You know, never take a selfie in your bathroom. Yeah. Never take a selfie with a big fat fish in your hand. Oh, wait. What are they doing in the kitchen with a pile of dishes behind them?
Starting point is 00:25:48 That's a good idea. You should do that. That's fair. We go along with your other business. Have you ever tried speed dating or have a matchmaker, any blind dates or set up date? Never, any of those? Actually, no. The speed dating is a really great idea.
Starting point is 00:26:05 It sounds fun, doesn't it? Yeah, it sounds really fun. I think what would be really good is if we went to like a pottery class and then you helped each other or you went to a cooking class. And it was really for, you know, to meet people. A singles cooking class. We can maybe do something with that, Teresa. Yeah, yeah, yeah, or traveling with singles or something. Well, that they have those groups, those meetup groups about traveling.
Starting point is 00:26:30 I did try one of those. I never met anybody. But you can see somebody when you travel. And, you know, a lot of our listeners say they live in really small towns. It's hard for them to meet new people. One thing, even if you live in a big city like Philadelphia or New York City, it is so hard to meet somebody. I've heard that so many times.
Starting point is 00:26:53 know myself being in the city. It is hard just as hard as small towns. Right. And I'll say that, I mean, the older you get, the smaller the pool of available people are. So true. So you're lucky. You went younger, which was a really great idea. It just happened. I didn't search for that, but it happened to be that, which is great. What do you think about a singles cruise? Would you ever sign up or suggest? Yeah. Jeez. I don't know. It's, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I would kind of feel like, well, if I didn't like anybody on this cruise and kind of trapped here. I would have to go with a girlfriend, though. Yeah, well, if I went with a girlfriend, that would be great.
Starting point is 00:27:34 That wouldn't have to be obligated to be with anything else. Exactly, exactly. And the other little events in your hometown, whether a comedian's coming into town or a show, you know what I mean? Just get out. Yeah, we've got so much music on the Jersey Shore, so many places to go. So you're right. Yeah, to go with a. friend but so many of my friends are with people so you know you took me to that little show that
Starting point is 00:28:00 was adorable it was a podcast show right they were so cute and we met one of the housewives yes we did that was awesome that was so good she had everything planned what if you come to my house it's not going to be as good i'm telling you it's okay i'm going to go in your pool and you're back in absolutely i finally got in it for the first time i've been traveling so much myself it's Oh, my God, good. You've got to get in there. And we've been asked both of us, Trisa, this question. And I believe I say the same answers, but if there was one piece of advice that you could give to your younger self when it comes to dating and relationships, what would it be? Okay. So in any relationship, I think the most important thing is to be open and honest and communicate with that person.
Starting point is 00:28:50 and if there are any issues with that person to never go to anyone else and complain to just leave it within the relationship because once you start going outside of that then everyone has their opinion and starts talking down about your person and you're saying no no I really love this person don't say anything bad about my person
Starting point is 00:29:10 ladies and gentlemen you just heard a great bit of advice that's awesome you're absolutely right thank you yeah I learned that a red flag is a red flag and I'm not going to make it green by any. Yeah, you're right. Just stop taking it. And I still try to practice it. Stop taking it so seriously and thinking of the next level and the next step.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Just be in the moment and be true to yourself and your partner, whoever it is. I really do think that it should be easy. It should not be difficult with somebody that you constantly have to compromise because you're thinking two different ways on a subject. or you don't have the same goals and passions and ideas about subjects or life. I think it just makes it too hard. So it's easier. Yes, I agree.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Now, you obviously know we have very different personalities, yet we like each other a whole bunch. What would you say that we've learned from each other? What is your favorite thing about me? And I'll tell you my favorite thing about you. My favorite thing about you is that you are so open and you're. yourself and yet you're such a good person and you don't you don't hold back and that you're yes your openness I remember when I was on the show remember when I said to you oh Susan I'm going to make you a star oh boy I didn't need to make you a star I said oh wow what you're doing right now
Starting point is 00:30:39 is really cool because you're going how happy I come great Susan do that I said I'm going that you're on the cover of People magazine. I didn't know I was going to be still. No, no, no. And I think you are one beautiful human being. You're fun. I didn't realize how fun you were. I mean, we, guys, we, I don't know if you caught our social media, but I have Frank Sinatra
Starting point is 00:31:08 in the house because this girl could sing. We had the top down at night with the stars out. We had the music blaring, riding around singing. Like, we didn't get that experience when we were on the show. No, I was way too self-conscious on the show. We were still worried about Zip It and us trying to play pickleball. So I'm going to zip it, so I zipped it. I couldn't be myself.
Starting point is 00:31:30 I mean, when I go see my grandsons, it's, hi, how are you? What are you doing? This is awesome. And then on the show, I'm like, okay, not saying the word. What do I say now? What do I know? Because it's weird when you just, you know. Yeah, so I applaud you for.
Starting point is 00:31:46 being able to be yourself because I was not able to do that. And honestly, to be perfectly honest with you, I won't use the word offends, but it was a curse rather than a blessing that I'm unapologetically, Susan, and very outspoken, and I say what I think, but I would never hurt anyone's feelings. But I'm pretty, some people would consider it obnoxious. No, no, you're a very kind hearty person. I'm a very good person. You take things to heart.
Starting point is 00:32:20 You're very sensitive and kind. So, yeah. No, you're great. All right. So have you watched Bachelor in Paradise. I have watched Bachelor in Paradise. Absolutely. Woo, baby.
Starting point is 00:32:35 So it was okay. You know, and then the Golden arrived, and I thought that was really exciting. Everybody looked so good. Did you feel for a moment like, oh, man, we should be there saying hi, everybody. Yeah, you kind of felt like that. I mean, it just felt like we should all be there. But I was, oh, I was so excited when they came on. And I just, and I felt the whole energy lift and
Starting point is 00:32:58 the whole, and even they, the young people really looked forward to it. I mean, they loved them. Yes. There was so much drama and stuff going on in their world. And then when they came in, it was like a breath of fresh air. Yeah. Like, thank God. Somebody came here, lighten up this mood. This is way there. And my beautiful April is still April. Yeah, April has some really great lying. She is good. And I think that April on this show is really coming out on her own.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Like, you know, comes out of Rochelle. More confident, yes. So good for her. I was just talking to her. I saw her kissing Jack. And that was like in the pool. But what do you think of April possibly flirting with a younger guy, Jonathan? Oh, yes. It's okay. Hey, if they are consenting parties, and that's fine. If he's going to go for it, then let him go for it. That's good. I think all the things are a little more. It's so funny. I don't know. She should do that. I mean, honestly, even if it's just flirting and it didn't go anywhere, I think there should be some of that. There should be like, hey, I mean, and Leslie said it too. Leslie said, hey, you know, Scher's got a younger guy. Why not me? Why not? We all do. I know.
Starting point is 00:34:13 You've got a younger guy, so why not? I don't know what the age difference is there, do you? I mean, I'm not talking like a 29-year-old or a 30-year-old. Yeah, I can't go below my son's age. My son is 48, so I can't go. Maybe as low as 55. That's what Fred's going to be in November, 55, so I'm seeing. Oh, exactly.
Starting point is 00:34:33 But you're younger than I am. Aren't you just 60, what are you, 68? 68, yes. Yeah, he's 72, so no, I'm way older. I was dying when Kathy with that game, and I was waiting for the person to own that secret. And mouths were dropped, and they're like, Kathy, I didn't think you had it in you. They were all things. Yeah, that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:34:58 I mean, but there were some wild ones on there about being a playmate to another couple and finding $500,000. What about the foot one on the all what? what is it when you put your feet online only fans only fans yeah hey why not let's do that we should both do it well you know if people are going to pay for that i didn't do it though she wanted to win that contest and because she got a VIP sweet date yeah and she chose teeth right what do you think what do you think i don't know it just seemed a lot more platonic it didn't like a romantic Friendship. Yeah, it seemed like a friendship.
Starting point is 00:35:43 I think so, too. I don't know. Yeah, I would have liked to have seen a little flirting, a little romance, a little kissing. That would have been nice because it was the VIP suite. I know. To do something, make out at least. That was what it was all about, like, you know, a little making out in the pool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Yeah, they did the champagne thing. Teresa, honestly, do you think on this show that we're going to see any kind of a love connection between the Golden's? That is a really good question. I hope so. I hope it gets better. I mean, I hope it gets better in that department. Yes, yes. There are connections because we are capable of really, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:23 having the same things that any age group does. So I really hope that they do. I'm rooting for somebody to get this connection. And we haven't seen everybody. We haven't seen all the different connections. No, not yet. Not everybody's even there yet. What about RJ and Natal?
Starting point is 00:36:40 Ash up. Or Jane and Natasha. Wow, that would be cool. Well, they were flirting a little bit. They were flirting. She was sitting on his lap on the boat, so that was good. I think everybody's trying to make a connection. Right. And what about the rivalry between Jack and Kim for April? And Kim is massaging April's back. Right now. Jack's eyeball.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Wait, wait, wait, that's my woman. Don't be touching my money. And April's just And then she goes and tells Jonathan you might, yeah, if you want to come to my room So now we've got a third guy So April's having a time for life So good for her I know there's more Golden's coming
Starting point is 00:37:21 And I look forward to this I really do They come in attractions if you will When Faith says I might be the hoe of the show I was like Oh yeah, that was fun Faith
Starting point is 00:37:34 You're doing another personality I can't we just see that. And it's not the faith that we know. I would never hear that coming out of her mouth. That's why I'm going to be so sorry when this show is over because I'm really looking forward to that. I want to see what faith does. Like how she can come in and what is really going to happen with her?
Starting point is 00:37:55 I know. Because she was really making out of them. Right. I'm true. My boyfriend's professor is way too frustrated. And now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
Starting point is 00:38:35 And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale,

Starting point is 00:43:09 All right. Let's move on to the next Golden Bachelor. And let's be nice. Mel Owens. Okay. All the comments that the people are making about his. comment about wanting women on his cast to be between 45 and 60 and if they're over 60 he's cutting them and he said no artificial hips and or wigs and he must have meant knees to and you know whatever else you know what honestly I think I'm hoping anyhow that he was teasing I mean not teasing he wants a younger but yeah no all I have to say is yes Yeah, we are so, like, saggy. And we're so, no cap, not coned whatsoever. Oh, you're a tone. You know, no, once we hit 60, we might as well be dead. Like, we're really not, we're not viable anymore.
Starting point is 00:44:08 So, Mel, you get you right on, because, you know what, I want a guy who's 452, so. So you're not, you're not angry with him. No, I'm angry with him. I mean, no. So, the whole idea of the Golden Bachelor is that. that we are older. We are 60. 60 should be the bottom age.
Starting point is 00:44:29 It should not be the top age. So in order to be golden. And so I think what's going to happen is that he'll see these women. He's going to see that they're gorgeous. I'm sure that they're all beautiful, accomplished women. And he'll change his mind. And I'll say, oh, I didn't even know that a woman could be this beautiful at this age. Oh, my goodness, you're gorgeous.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Oh, you are fit. You are in shape. So I was wrong. That's what's going on. You know what? I wish he didn't know the age of the woman. That's right. Until he dates them and does it.
Starting point is 00:45:02 I'm going to suggest that to ABC. I think it's a great suggestion. I agree with you. I mean, obviously the team knows how old they are. But maybe the guy shouldn't know because you don't want to judge somebody because of the age. I never act my age. Right. It would be really cool.
Starting point is 00:45:20 I love this idea where the whole audience knows how. how old each woman is, but he doesn't know. I think he's perfect. He's 65-year-old. And, you know, he's only 66. He's still younger than us. However, however, we would rock his world. Yo, Mel.
Starting point is 00:45:37 You think you got it all? Don't say that ever again. And I honest to God, don't think he meant it to be disrespectful to women by any means. He didn't even know that this podcast was going to be released anywhere. He just thought he was talking football
Starting point is 00:45:52 Yeah, yeah, talking shit is what they were doing. He lost his mind. He just lost his mind, and the whole thing is going to change, so we can't wait and see what he says. But that's the truth. Don't tell them how all these women are. Just tell us. I'm calling ABC as soon as we're done today.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Send him messages. I got a brilliant idea. It's true, because they won't let too young of a woman or too old of a woman. And the hip part, Mel, be careful. Some people have new knees Some people that happens in their 40s So don't judge He was a football player
Starting point is 00:46:29 He was an athlete So he's strong I get it It can happen at any time And who's wearing wigs nowadays I don't think anybody When I'm in a wig Can you imagine how bad I would be sweating
Starting point is 00:46:40 I sweat my own hair Not alone a wig And I got the guys for two days And I'd rather have a bald guy anyway That's fine I'll shame his head I like the ones with the really short size and they're absolutely two hairs.
Starting point is 00:46:53 I go, sweetie, just let me take care of this. Let me look at. Oh, and thank you for fixing my hair when you were at my house. Oh, yes. Did you do what I said? You went to your stylist. It looks great. I did this myself.
Starting point is 00:47:07 You did? You listened to me. Yeah, the brush. But it's not good. I actually, wait a minute, Susan, I cut my hair and this side is longer. Why do you think you could do? She's very talented. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:18 My grandfather was a barber. Oh, okay. I just go, I think I can do it. I think I can do it. All right, Teresa, I do have one question, and don't shoot me. Oh, oh, I got it. Remember when we were out? I think we had just got done dinner and maybe walked in to walk some of the calories off or the digest at least.
Starting point is 00:47:39 And that gentleman came up to us and he said, Teresa, you go back and forth, back and forth. And you're like, I dated you. Oh, yeah, right. We were on the poor book in Peer Village in Long Branch. Where were we? And we were in Pier Village in Long Branch. And we were going to a place to see if they had music. And he's walking towards us.
Starting point is 00:48:04 And I'm looking at him. I go, you look so familiar. And I went out with him twice and then never went out with him again. I go, didn't I date you? Yeah, Teresa. Isn't that a weird thing? He was really nice. Yeah, he was not.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Why did I turn him down? Yeah. Why? Why? I was insane. Okay. Don't look back. Let's look forward. Yes. He approached you again. I think if you reached out to him, say, hey, you want to get together and go listen to some music? He would definitely say yes. And maybe now that you're more open, then you give it another shot. And even just as friends, you never know. I don't have his phone number, but you never know. Oh, okay. We'll go hang on the boardwalk.
Starting point is 00:48:45 I've had men reach out to me again afterwards, like, and I really deleted their numbers, so I didn't know who they were. Oh, don't you hate that? Yeah, that's really like, I feel so bad to say, who is this? I'm so sorry. Oh, no. I've actually lied and said my phone was messed up. I'm so sorry. I should have thought of that one.
Starting point is 00:49:04 No, because they don't believe that either. Yeah, right. Oh, my God. Anything else? No new prospects? Have you been out? Have you? I go out, but no new prospects.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Well, you want to put the pedal to the mess. I'm in Atlantic City tonight with Frederick, come down, meet us for dinner. I'm leaving tomorrow to go visit Leslie. Oh, that's tomorrow. So we're going to watch the next episode of Paradise Together. Oh, good. Give her a hug and a kiss. A hug and a kiss for me.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Yes, I will, yes. Did Peggy come? The Peggy's coming the next week, so I'm flying back. I'll be back Wednesday. Then I have to clean my house really, really fast. And then Peggy comes. Her house is spot. And did you get to go to your sons yet in Charleston?
Starting point is 00:49:55 Oh, I just came back from my sons, and I have to tell you a story. I was bowing my eyes out in the airport because, you know, the one that you loved, Braxton, that was some affectionate with you. Yes, yes, yes. Just was, you know, hugging me, and he wouldn't let me go. And he said, I don't want you to leave. And you're not, when are you coming back? And I said, Braxton, I'll be back really soon. I'm in the airport, and these sad songs are coming on.
Starting point is 00:50:17 And all of a sudden, turn on your heart light. it says I'll come The song starts with I want to you know I will come back I'll come back and I text him I said I miss you already
Starting point is 00:50:28 and he said miss you more Oh my God You're crying My eyes The tears are streaming down my eyes And I'm saying Does anybody know who I am And now they can see
Starting point is 00:50:36 They're blowing my eyes And I said I'm going to send you this song And you listen to it And you think about me And I'll think about you It starts out with come back again I want you to stay next time Oh my God
Starting point is 00:50:48 I'm so sad I know. My four-year-old granddaughter sends me videos. Mimi, I want you come back. I want to come swimming. I want to eat dinner with you. You come back. How old is she? Four. Yeah, that's, oh. Yeah, you got to go back. You got to see them all the time. And you and I have to get together with our calendars again. It took us a month or so to figure that one out. So we'll pre-planned. The whole idea was supposed to be. We were doing it wild, Kathy, unless we were gone.
Starting point is 00:51:18 But then it was like four weeks later. No, now we know we love each other. You got to say her she shed, her she shed is beyond. Oh. I'm telling you, it's one of my favorite parts. Thank you. I love you. And no, I love you.
Starting point is 00:51:32 And thanks for giving such great advice for the people listening out there. Thank you, Susan. Thank you for coming today and chatting with me so that everybody can hear.
