Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:00:50 But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh, my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Everyone thinks they'd never join a cult.
Starting point is 00:01:10 But it happens all the time to people just like you. And people just like us. I'm Lola Blanc and I'm Megan Elizabeth. We're the hosts of Trust Me, a podcast about cults, manipulation, and the psychology of belief. Each week we talk to fellow survivors, former believers, and experts to understand why people get pulled in and how they get out. Trust me.
Starting point is 00:01:30 New episodes every Wednesday on Exactly Right. Listen wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:02:00 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcasts with IHartRadio. It's the Bachelor Headlines episode of this week. Yes, we are pumping out the episodes. We are still staying busy. And we are excited about this episode. Ashley got some headlines to talk about some big deals. A few headlines not on the list that I want to mention right away, okay? First one, I was watching The Fall of the House of Usher.
Starting point is 00:02:33 It's on Netflix, new show. Yeah, I've seen it up there. Guess who's in it? So, a Bachelor alum? Yes. Is it a documentary series or scripted? No, it's scripted. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Along Gale, former producer of The Bachelor, is in this show. But he's in it? Like, as a star? Not a star. He is like a bar. Tinder at one of the parties. No, I just thought to him on the phone last week, and he didn't tell us about this.
Starting point is 00:03:02 That's so cool. So cool. So cool. So fun. Random. Molly's in it as well. His fiancee. She has a bigger role than he does.
Starting point is 00:03:13 But yeah, all of a sudden, Milan Gale pops on my screen, and I'm very confused, and it's very weird. And he's really good, as he is at most things. That's one thing, right? He's so good with everything he does. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:23 So if you watch that, look for Alon to make his appearance. The next one is. Hey, Ash, my, my truck got stolen this week. Oh, you're going to talk about this. I'm going to talk about it. Can we put, like, wanted signs around for your truck? It's gone. So, guys, his truck was stolen from the Denver airport parking lot.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Yeah. His keys were not in it. It was somehow, I remember this old episode of Full House where they had to hot wire a car because they didn't have the keys and they were trying to steal it as like a senior prank and put it up the top of the high school and is like that how you do it there's like some sort of connection and like people
Starting point is 00:04:02 you're telling me that somebody's in the parking lot with people possibly walking by them and they're hot wiring the bottom somewhere of the car and then they have to have a pick wait no because they have to start the car too I have no idea how they do it these days I'm sure there's new technology
Starting point is 00:04:20 and I'm sure they found out new ways but I was in and I did want to mention this. I was in Washington, D.C. with the International Justice Mission. We were advocating to increase the standards of reporting for tech companies when it comes to online human trafficking. Yeah. That's so important. Yeah. So we went to Congress, we went to the Hill. Unfortunately, they were doing a House vote that day for the Speaker of the House. So we got to meet with a lot of really great people, but they were very busy. But it was a really great day. International Justice Mission is doing great work.
Starting point is 00:04:55 came back late at night and you know that feeling where you're just like I've been gone so much so tired and I just want to get home and I'm excited to get home to Jess and I'm excited to get home to Whalen
Starting point is 00:05:05 and I just cannot wait to be in my own bed for a few days and I walked out of the parking lot and I was like my car is not here but Ben I have parked in the wrong spot of like say the mall or whatever and I've gone to like the wrong floor actually not like the mall
Starting point is 00:05:22 I'm not that dumb but like some parking lot somewhere and I'll be like oh gosh where's my car like you ever have you ever had the fake scare where you just are in the wrong spot so I definitely so like and then you're you're beep at the button and you're like you're just trying to hear for it and you can't find it so when did the like slight panic that you have in moments like that turn into the ultimate panic well every time I park I always take a picture of the sign yeah of the spot I was in and so I I always stand behind my car, and I take a picture of the sign. Oh, so it's always the right angle.
Starting point is 00:05:58 You knew where to go. Okay, I do that sometimes too, mostly at the airport. I was really standing in the parking spot that's empty now, being like, well, it's gone. Unfortunately, or fortunately, there wasn't a lot in my car. You know, I don't carry a lot in my car, but I had picked up my golf clubs because my brother-in-law is in town this week, and we're going to play a lot of golf. That's something we love to do together. So I'd picked up my golf clubs on the way to the airport because we were going to play the
Starting point is 00:06:24 he got here and my clubs were in the car and so those are now gone as well and I have a big tournament coming up and I don't know how I'm going to get myself some golf clubs. It's very weird. It's like the two things. My brother-in-law said it last night. He's like it's the two things that you've spent money on in my life is like golf clubs and my car and those two things are now gone and I'm very much at lost. But here's the here's this the thing about it. I'm not going to let it rattle me, it just really stinks. And so for anybody out there who has had something like this, a violation of their property, it just isn't a good feeling. And it's a very weird feeling. And I, it's just odd to think that, like, my possessions are the things that I've, like, had in my life.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Like, some things in the car, like, met something to me, especially my clubs. And they're now just gone. Um, like, never to probably be in my possession again. And if they are, they're never going to be the same to me. So just a weird season, weird time. I am just so freaking, sorry like stealing a car and then them not being able to find it i can't i can't imagine what that it feels like to you i really like that somebody needed that car more than i did well that's a really really kind way of thinking about it but you told me earlier that the um that there's like a car stealing problem at denver airport now yeah so if you are parking at denver national Airport, just be careful. A lot of, you know, you can read about it in all the news articles
Starting point is 00:07:55 and a lot of the journalists are covering it, that something's happening where a lot of the cars are being taken. I think it's a right now an average of like 30 cars a week right now from Denver National Airport. That is a huge freaking number. It's a big problem. And I'm hoping that they start to fix it because it's just not a fun idea where like now with all the anxieties of travel in itself, and I've talked about on here before, how I just don't love the travel as much anymore. And now I'm going to be like wanting to figure out if my car is still there. I am going to put, are you ever going to park there again? Are you always going to Uber now? Probably always Uber, but I might, I'm going to put a tracking device on my car from here and out. I know. And because
Starting point is 00:08:35 of you, I think I'm going to put tracking devices on our car. It would have, it would have saved the whole situation. Yeah, I would have at least known. So yeah, I'm going to put that on there. I'm going to get, you know, one of those like wheel locks. I'm going to take all precautionary measures. Like in order to get in my car from here and out, you're going to have to really work at it. And I don't think anybody's that interested in really working at it. But it's a weird week, Ashley. It's a weird time. I really loved those two things.
Starting point is 00:09:01 And, you know, now my wife with what we have multiple guests in town right now has to kind of shuttle me around. And, you know, she works not from home. So she's, it's difficult for her. But hey, could be worse. Could be bigger problems. just a very odd time, but we are here today to talk about Bachelor headlines, and I guess that could be one of them. I think so. I actually think that's probably the most dramatic. That's great. Thanks, Ash.
Starting point is 00:09:33 My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, My boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy?
Starting point is 00:09:59 That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his, professor or not. To hear the explosive
Starting point is 00:10:19 finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone,
Starting point is 00:10:35 anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this. This, pull that, turn this. It's just...
Starting point is 00:10:49 I can do it my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to No Such thing. on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Emanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips.
Starting point is 00:11:27 And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercoms the podcast. for you. Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search emergency intercom and listen now. Hey, sis, what if I
Starting point is 00:11:54 could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro? Tell you how to manage your money again. Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan, starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt and it
Starting point is 00:12:36 weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're a avoiding it, and in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment-free money advice, listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Well, here's the first headline of the day. Teresa speaks out on last week's Golden Bachelor drama with Kathy.
Starting point is 00:13:03 I felt absolutely terrible, she says. Okay, so what's funny is that normally we're used to current bachelor contestants sort of making comments about what's going on the show on their Instagrams and now with the Golden Bachelor I would assume that most of them
Starting point is 00:13:20 like don't have Instagrams well I don't know where she posted this but she did post somewhere a photo Teresa posted a photo with her family and she said this past episode was a bit hard for me to watch
Starting point is 00:13:36 never in a million years did I think I was going to find myself involved in drama that is not who I am and I just thought that I was able to be open and honest with a new friend about how I was feeling
Starting point is 00:13:49 as you saw I acknowledge that everyone felt a connection with Gary and I welcome that we were all on a journey to see who was the best fit for Gary she also went on to share how Gary confronted her
Starting point is 00:14:04 in that moment and how she's been thankful for all the kind messages from fans she said Gary said to me, if you in your heart don't believe that you are boastful, you don't believe that you were doing anything to hurt someone, then you should just let it go. You know, I think, I don't know how you felt about last week's drama, Ashley, but it is interesting to see drama on the Golden Bachelor. I don't think it is their bread and butter.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I don't think it's something, you know, we don't need to get down where this drama continues to build the season over season, and it becomes the most dramatic season ever. want it to be is the most loving season ever. This drama, obviously, was very tame compared to what we see usually on the Bachelor and Bachelor ad. So tame. I'm fine with it because it was so tame. What's your take?
Starting point is 00:14:51 Because so you and I weren't able to do the Golden Bachelor recap together, but I am just interested in it. What was your take on that? Do you think that Teresa was just being spacey and not realizing that maybe like talking about Gary and her feelings? um maybe the connection maybe isn't the most appropriate thing to do i think there's the i think there's the issue of one person being very sensitive and the other person being yes a little um uh non self aware yeah not self aware of what she's saying and how it's affecting the person
Starting point is 00:15:29 around her however um you know we saw this similar storyline with brayden you know i think it does and i remember even being on the show and having people come back from day and talk about them, you're like, I just don't want to hear it. So I do think it's an element that you have to be aware of kind of going on the show. But at this point, I feel like these women think and feel like they're all so close and so good of friends that they just talk about stuff pretty openly. And I think just probably there's a targa on Teresa's back because I think the women are starting to feel like she, she's kind of the one.
Starting point is 00:16:04 And so they're now more sensitive when she says it. It's probably similar to Sean Booth during, you know, Caitlin's season. It all felt like, yeah, Sean is definitely like top dog here. And every time he speaks about how great his time is with Caitlin, everybody else kind of goes, yeah, cool, man. Like, we don't have that or we haven't felt that yet. Or we don't really want to hear it. Just is a, I think it's a thing with the kind of the front runner on the season.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Well, now on to outside of the Golden Bachelor, Bachelor Nation is divided, interesting enough, as former contestant Claire Heelig goes on The Voice. So Claire was on Clayton's season. Clayton's season. Wow. That's so cool and crazy. Why are we divided here?
Starting point is 00:16:55 When Bachelor Nation got wind of her appearance, the overall reaction was mixed on Reddit. One fan wrote was watching and wondering why one of the performers looked so familiar. It turned out to be Claire, she was the girl who ranted about how much she hated clean night one. Okay, I remember this girl now.
Starting point is 00:17:15 And then another fan was like a truly honest contestant who wasn't a size two. And from the video posted a while back, her singing was quite good. Wonder if she was ever offered Bachelor in Paradise. Okay. This is like a silly, silly headline. Bastor Nation is not torn. Bachelor Nation doesn't really even remember Claire. Well, now that somebody reminded me, now I remember how honest she was, and I'm just not into it. I love, I like love it when people are that honest. And, but yeah, she's on the voice now. And she's doing really well so far. She did a rendition of Tennessee Orange. And it made Gwen Stefani turn around. And it's grant her a spot on Gwen's team. There's a really big deal. That's really, really cool.
Starting point is 00:18:03 It's a huge deal. So congratulations to Claire. We are cheering her on. and all of Bachelor Nation should. Well, Hannah-Anne Slews has posted some stunning engagement photos with fiancé Jake Funk. And she also shares a little bit about their wedding plans. Ashley, tell us. So they got engaged earlier this year in Cabo. And Hannah-Anne is definitely doing all of the journeymen traveling along with Jake.
Starting point is 00:18:32 So Jake was a charger when they first met. and was he charged no no no so Jake was an L.A. Ram when they first met here in L.A. And then she moved, I think he was also on the practice squad in New Orleans for a bit
Starting point is 00:18:48 and then he got traded or not traded but he just he got picked up by the cults and now just months later he's over at the Dolphins. So she's following him everywhere he goes and that's a hard life you know you can't feel
Starting point is 00:19:05 settle down. You can't feel like you have a home. A lot of football players in this situation will end up like renting or they'll end up being in like long term hotels because the season's only so long and you don't know where you're going to end up and getting a rental is honestly can just be a big waste of like money and contractual issues. So they did do this this very beautiful photo shoot with People magazine and in it, Jake said, I really wanted to get her to know her as a person. I'm trying to date you.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I'm not trying to date you because you're on TV. I want to date Hannah, the girl from Knoxville, Tennessee. And he says, this girl is everything I've ever wanted. Our future is not our past. And Hannah said that the wedding is going to be next year during the offseason. So I'm assuming that's 2024 in the off season. That's coming up.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And all the main things are already booked. They're really excited. It's going to be a destination wedding. in a place that's really special to them. We're super excited for Hannah and Jake. They do make a great couple, and I do know their life right now is a little crazy. So it's cool to see them doing all these amazing things,
Starting point is 00:20:16 even with his travel and kind of him moving around in an NFL, which is such a hard industry to be participating in. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him?
Starting point is 00:21:05 Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Yumanzoor. And I'm Drew Phillips. Starting point is 00:22:38 Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to no such thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Jenna Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcomfit podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life? Like, am I ready to be in a relationship?
Starting point is 00:23:00 Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself? my time. I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth. Life is freaking hard. And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happens in motion, even when you're hurting. All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Starting point is 00:23:37 on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Well, speaking of NFL, Bachelorette's Rachel Lindsay slams Taylor Swift fans as obnoxious at Travis Kelsey's
Starting point is 00:23:57 NFL games. She, I believe, said this Ashley, during her time on the views behind the table podcast. Yeah. So, I mean, you know, I'm a Taylor Swift fan. She's got to be my favorite artist of all time musically. And, you know, I'm a little fatigued of the whole Travis Kelsey thing. However, I say this and then I still gobble up every post that Us Weekly posts on Instagram. But it's over the top. I'm getting there. But every relationship Taylor has is like interesting to some degree. And this is particularly interesting because she's never gone
Starting point is 00:24:35 this route. She's always dated actors and musicians and a football player is, it's kind of fun. It's so different. But anyway, I do think it's real. I don't, why, why would it be fake? Is my question. Why would it be fake? Why would, neither of them need publicity. Taylor does not need any freaking publicity. Um, I think that it's crazy though, because it was on air and Andrews podcast that she first suggested that, like, Travis should date Taylor or something. And then he tried to give her a bracelet at the heiress tour, but never ended up meeting her at the Kansas City date with his number on it. And that's, that was cute. But like, I need to know how it went from him not being able to give a bracelet to her publicist being
Starting point is 00:25:23 like, have him, have him call her. You know? Like, what was Taylor thinking where she was like, oh, that guy? Yeah, let me go on a. date with him. Yeah. There's just a lot here that I would love to know, but I'm also, I'm fatigued by it as a football fan. Yeah. You know, my only comment to the whole thing is Taylor Swift fans, they can do Taylor Swift
Starting point is 00:25:48 things. Like, they love Taylor Swift. They go to her concerts. They're packing out every place around the world. Like, I get it. They love Taylor. That's cool. But there's a lot of big-named artists, including Beyonce and Jay-Z, who have been
Starting point is 00:26:01 participating in the NFL and ownership and going to games for many years yet those weren't on every ESPN show and those weren't they are not shown on every commercial break uh of the games that they attend like that's just not a thing but the NFL it's not like this is a new thing where celebrities big celebrities world changing celebrities have had a place in the NFL so I'm I'm not because Taylor Swift I think is maybe the biggest celebrity in the entire world. I think she's gone far and beyond. I know.
Starting point is 00:26:36 See, I am fatigued as well. And I am a Taylor fan who I want to go to the concert and I get so, so excited for every album. But listen, I don't want to dance in the theater. I don't want to dance in the theater to a screen. I want to take it in. And I, it's just like, I'm different, you know, we're all different breeds. But let's just get to Rachel Lindsay's comments.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Okay, fine. She said, she hates the way that people are. obsessing over this relationship. It sounds like she's ready to move on the inevitable breakup album that's going to come from this romance. She just, I mean, look, we've talked more than Rachel's talked about it, but she says it sounds like she's ready to move on to the inevitable breakup album that will eventually come from this podcast. She says, yeah, I hate it. I hate it. There's no other emotion that comes out of me than just hating it. It's a little obnoxious, the Taylor Swift fans.
Starting point is 00:27:35 I love that you're into the sport now, but I love that you're into the sport, but they're not. They're into the Taylor-Travice Kelsey of it. Too much information. The media is playing into it too much. She even went on to explain that she felt that the fan-driven frenzy was disrespectful to the sport of football. She goes, people are
Starting point is 00:28:01 coming to games wearing shirts as a Taylor Swiss boyfriend. And it's a little disrespectful to the sport and to the game. And even Travis Kelsey, I know I'm being negative. I just can't see the fun. She said that she did come across with one silver lining.
Starting point is 00:28:17 She said that this attention has been amazing for Travis's career as he has crossed over now into a whole new audience. It's great for his jersey sales. We know those have gone up like 500%. It's like the weirdest freaking thing ever. Good for Travis.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Good for Taylor. And I'll say one thing. I'm going to wrap it up on a positive note. The way that he holds her hand out on dates is very kind. He does look very protective and looks like a whole different kind of boyfriend that she's ever had. And it would be absolutely. No, come on.
Starting point is 00:28:49 It would be hilarious if they end up marrying. Like after all the guys that she has dated, if she ends up marrying the football player in Kansas City. I would laugh. And I would probably celebrate.
