Starting point is 00:01:54 Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Everyone thinks they'd never join a cult. New episodes every Wednesday on Exhibition. right listen wherever you get your podcasts this is the ben and ashley i almost famous podcast with i heart radio we're sitting here right now with the almost famous podcast at winty vineyards and here's the deal today we play golf and i have three of the best golfers in the group with me right now now there are only a few of us that played the day um we're going to start with justin justin justin we played the course at
Starting point is 00:02:59 winty vineyards. And I want to hear from you. What was your experience? Well, you know, Ben, was quickly humbled. We had fun doing it, but we were challenged. We were pushed to our limits. We had some good shots. We had some bad shots. We had some alcoholic shots. And we did what we could. We left it out there. Yo, that was fire. Low key, though, alcoholic shots? That was a great bar. He was crushing it. He thought about it for about two hours. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was really good.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Okay, sorry. You guys look defeated. You do. You look tired. You look tired. You look like today really took it out of you. Now, if I was to ask any of you to, if you're a like a golfer who golfs regularly, who here would say they do? The crickets?
Starting point is 00:03:55 Do you hear that shit? It's your little of the crickets outside. I hear it. That was wild. So nobody does. This is an incredible course designed by Greg Norman in the middle of the valley. Love it.
Starting point is 00:04:09 And the vineyards, like the course wraps through these vineyards in this beautiful way. It's an incredible architecture. But it's not easy. I will say, 10 was the hardest course I've ever seen in my life. Or the hardest part. It was just like going right,
Starting point is 00:04:23 going left. It's super narrow. Super narrow. super narrow fairways man not a lot of I'm not gonna lie to you we went to that course
Starting point is 00:04:29 we hit like twice and we were like it's probably one we should skip yeah no yeah we did do that we did do that like yeah
Starting point is 00:04:37 you know what you know it's after nine 10 he's out here whooping our ass already let's just regroup so if you were to guess
Starting point is 00:04:45 your scores in the day because I know that some of you did skip kind of give up a little bit at times yeah Andrew will start with you
Starting point is 00:04:53 what do you guess you shot today and I don't want you to try to be impressive. There's no reason to impress anybody here. I don't think any of us would be that way regarding golf, but, you know, I think, I think we, like he said,
Starting point is 00:05:04 we had some really good shots that kind of surprised us all. And then we also had some, you know, we were very friendly with Mulligans. Yeah. So, like, you know, we, like if you didn't have a good first shot, tee off, then it was,
Starting point is 00:05:17 yeah, take another one. We did that a lot. And I felt like, you know, if I really tried, I'd be really good at golf. Yeah. And I left with confidence. I'm not going to lie to you. I left with a lot of confidence.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I don't play a lot, but I felt like a lot of didn't leave me. I picked up right where I needed to. So I probably shot around like a 110-ish area. Yeah. 110? 110? Hell is that mean?
Starting point is 00:05:44 Like 110 times that you hit the ball today. Oh, got you. Yeah. What did you shoot? I couldn't put. Yeah. Shot an 80. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:54 With no molligans. Did I say 1-10? I think I said about... 82. I said about a 75. I'm pumped that you guys came out and played. Golf is something I love, and it's fun to just get anybody to come out and play. So would you say today was a good, like, do you have a good time together on the golf course?
Starting point is 00:06:14 I think that was the... Yeah, you said you shot an 80, too? Yeah. Yeah. If I would play all rounds, humbly, I would have probably shot... If we were being honest, it's probably around 200. But, uh, I mean, I was, you know what? At the end of the day, I'm not going to lie to you.
Starting point is 00:06:33 There was. So I do want to, I do. You know, you know, and I, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, let's quiet. Let's quiet down for a second. Let's quiet down. Let's quiet down for a second. The, uh, no, I will say, I will say, I will say, no, okay. It wasn't even the whole.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Oh, so that's, that's an overall consensus from the T-Bod. He couldn't get it off to him. Whipping my ass. Whipping my ass. Anyway, so there is this, the whole... They missed like seven shots in the row.
Starting point is 00:07:00 No, it did, I was going back and forth, back and forth. He's a wrecked shot. Um, but, uh,
Starting point is 00:07:08 six more times in a row. Yeah. I will say on 18, um, oh yeah. He striped it. Yeah. I did have a shot that I was like,
Starting point is 00:07:19 you know what? I could do something here. Yeah. And we're going to come back. Like, you now want to go back out and play, don't you? I had the best shot of my life. Yeah. No, seriously.
Starting point is 00:07:28 It was piped. And I was like, I got it. I was like, I'm born to do this. I was born to do this. This is my first time golfing in a couple of years now. But I think that after that shot, I was like, I'm going to start golfing. That's what happens is they, there's always a shot. I was like, that's it.
Starting point is 00:07:49 That's it. No, no, no. I said, that's it. That's it. I don't even need to do anything. I don't need to do anything. I have it in me. Am I good from here?
Starting point is 00:07:57 Yeah, I have it in me. It's like, give me, Greg. That's how golf works. The golf experience for you, Greg, you don't play a lot. I don't play a lot. But today, the views from being out there, do you get why people love this sport?
Starting point is 00:08:16 Incredible. I mean, we saw horses out there. I mean, there was turkey vultures. Turkey vultures. A million. Hawks out there. Falcons, you were talking to them. And incredible creatures and incredible views.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And, I mean, you know, you're there with your buddies. We have some good tunes playing, good laughs. And I was like, I don't care what I'm shooting. And we're having a good time. Yeah. Everybody felt that way. No, literally. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Good time. Would you come back to this place again if invited to play golf? Oh, my God. Absolutely. Absolutely. I know the lay of the land. Yeah, now we know. 110, like 75 pretty soon.
Starting point is 00:08:56 That's right. That's right. This, of course, is in trouble if we come back. Oh, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. In trouble. Today was an awesome day here at the course at Winty Vineyards. It was awesome having you guys. I'm thankful you came.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I'm also thankful you did it together because it is fun. Golf is something I love. And it's just, there's a lot of laughs. And it's the best win you're doing it like you did the day. You hit a good show. I picked that thing up. Don't even play anymore. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:09:24 I'll come back next time. And also, we'll say it was a very positive group. Yeah. You know, we're always competitive, but it wasn't like a competitive where, like, everyone was just rooting for it. It was nice. It was a great shot, even though it wasn't, like, a great shot. But it was, like, good enough for us. It was like, we appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Good contact. We were celebrating. Yeah, it was all I saw what you were doing there. You know, you really did this And it was good It was good It was nice Are you guys tired?
Starting point is 00:09:56 Greg, you're gonna be really sore tomorrow I'm gonna tell you that You think so? You took 200 swings today Like, dude, your body's worth Yeah, you're gonna be exhausted That's sick Yeah, sick
Starting point is 00:10:06 Sick Oh, the left T Oh wait, wait now All right, bro All right, come on, come on Not here Imagine that you're on an airplane
Starting point is 00:10:22 And all of a sudden you hear this Attention passengers The pilot is having an emergency And we need someone Anyone to land this plane Think you could do it It turns out that nearly 50% of men Think that they could land the plane
Starting point is 00:10:39 With the help of air traffic control And they're saying like Okay pull this Do this, pull that, turn this. It's just... I can do it in my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah.

Everyone say hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin. So like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up. this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:14:17 On 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes understate.
Starting point is 00:14:40 available now listen to wisecrack on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts we got the boys here talking about the course at winty vineyards to close up here question we'll go around the circle or the half circle Andrew will start with you what is the most memorable moment of today for you um i would say today at the course like on the golf course on the golf course um honestly like you like you said i feel like we took our first shot not gonna lie to you
Starting point is 00:15:24 um off the tea i was nervous shit i was super nervous i don't know why i was i had butterflies like it felt a game day yeah i was in there i was just like oh my god i i don't know why i'm so nervous everyone's getting their first shots off and that's when it's just like really gets you're like, you're doing this, you're playing this. Well, that first T2 is so elevated. It's a nerve-wracking shot because you feel like you can break a lot of things. And obviously, you haven't seen these guys golf. And you don't want to be like a sucker.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah. You don't be the one that's terrible out there. So you just kind of want to be able to hang with the group. So that was like nerve-wracking. But at the same time, it was like satisfying just like to see us just kind of like have fun with it and enjoy the first T-off. Greg? Um, I mean, it got to be my shot that I took.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I mean, it could be any ordinary shot for anybody else, but for me, that was like I, I'm a golfer. Yeah. So, uh, I'm coming back. I'm going to start practicing and I already, I already hit up a trainer. And I'm going to, I'm training in New York next week. So I am going to come back stronger next year. In the golf world, that is not uncommon to say it's the most frustrating sport in the world. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:36 And on the 18th hole, you always seem to have something that happens that makes you go. I got to come back and do that. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah. Maybe I still do, guys. Yeah, exactly. I'm still coming back. Justin, what about you?
Starting point is 00:16:48 Man, I don't know if I'd say it's one single moment, but I think kind of to piggyback on what Andrew said, I think just the group and the company that we had in our foursome, like it was just so encouraging and just like a high-spirit, high, like, yeah, high-spirited group. And, you know, a lot of times when you play golf, even with some of the buddies that I play with, it's like, you know, kind of, I don't know, like, you feel like you're holding people up where they'll kind of like, you know, joke going on you or something like that. It's, you know, whatever. But I feel like everyone when they were just like so encouraging and just like helpful
Starting point is 00:17:22 and just, you know, we're all on the same team type of thing. It was just like a good group camaraderie. Yeah. Like if we played teams, you ought to have been in trouble. That's right. Yeah, our team chemistry was crazy. Like, if we play like for this ball, then we play for the best hit after that. If it was scramble, you ought to be in trouble.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Yeah. That's what we're going to do next year then. We're going to set you guys up as a scramble team. I think that would be super beneficial. Yeah. Deal. Take the largest, the longest drive. Couple that with your short game.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Yeah. That'd be awesome. Absolutely. We got the scramble team built in. 2025. Hey, that's been the almost famous podcast at the course at Winty Vineyard. It's an incredible place. I think we can all attest.
Starting point is 00:18:01 It's a beautiful course. Highly recommend coming. I think you'd have a great experience. I mean, we did. they were not joking when they said we saw all different types of wildlife birds horses horses um horses there's cattle to you like cattle yeah it means is an awesome experience um you know kind of weaving in and out through the vineyard yeah no they are interesting creatures out there and it's it's interesting how they try to communicate in the wild with you that you wouldn't even
Starting point is 00:18:29 honestly they wouldn't even understand um carry um carry up um carry up um carry I thought you're going to say it's really cool to be at the green and see great growing. He's like, hey, it's a fast green. Yeah, but they're talking to you. They did fly away. Yeah, you guys were having a better day than me. We'll be back with Almost Famous Podcasts.
