My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate.
Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast.
Today, we are breaking down episode five of Jen's season.
Ben, I watched three episodes, so like six hours in the past 48 hours.
hours. I did a little binge. Actually, we watched the, the episode that aired two weeks ago in the hospital.
This was the second time that I delivered on a Monday, and I watched the show in my hospital bed.
But I couldn't, like, fully grasp, you know, everything, because I just had delivered a baby eight hours, six hours earlier.
So I had to rewatch that episode, and then I watched, you know, the past two weeks as well.
So you were watching episodes in bed, like before or after,
delivery.
You know, like six hours after delivery, I watched the episode where they did the
stripties.
Interesting.
What did you think?
That episode was the one where Sam and Devin really went at it, or like Sam kind of
became a little bit of a villain for a moment.
And then I saw the trajectory of the villain thing didn't really go that far.
I think that they're done with, I think they're done with creating a villain right now.
I think we're just, we're just going to see where the love goes.
you know i think that was one of those things
was just like a blip kind of
except i don't think sam
in the audience's eyes has gotten
recovered
recovered yeah i don't think he's recovered yet
from that i don't know if he will recover
viewed as that okay you don't know if he will
that's really the big things leading up to this episode
is the sam story
uh obviously deving kind of being this
character that at first we thought was just annoying the house now
we don't know if he's on in the right or in the wrong
I think he's just good now.
You know how we said that we were like,
we were like not defending him.
We're like, you know, I'm not saying I like him.
I kind of like him now.
How do you feel?
I'm pretty neutral on Devin.
I don't really know yet.
I don't think he's the right one for her.
I'll stand up.
I'll stand beside that.
I don't think though he is, again, like you were saying, the villain.
I don't actually know if there is a villain this season.
As much as there's just some people that,
the audience might be like
I'd rather it not. I'd rather not watch them
or I'd rather them not be with Jen
but I don't think anybody's going to leave this show
being known as the villain.
Yeah, I think that this episode
really narrowed it down to the guys
that I actually all see
like having some sort of a chance.
Kind of. I will say that the exit
this week was shocking to me. We'll talk about that later.
Dylan?
Yeah, a little surprised.
I like, I would have liked Dylan to stick around.
I like Dylan.
He, uh, we didn't get to see enough of him.
But let's dive into the first scene before we get into the exits, uh, obviously leading
up to this episode, which is episode five.
We've kind of said it.
Uh, the big characters have been Sam and Devin and Marcus.
Uh, and also Jonathan.
They've all kind of been the ones that have been shown the most, uh, so far.
We do have two rose ceremonies this episode.
that's kind of a shock.
But the first scene is the cocktail party.
So we leave last week where Matthew shows up the very end to kind of tell Jen that he, you know, wants a second chance.
We don't really know where that relationship was, you know, three months ago or four months ago,
whatever they're saying the timeline was.
But we do know that he's into Jim.
However, the audience, the good old sleuthers out there have found that Matthew did a lot of
content around his appearance on the Bachelorette.
He did? Oh, yeah. Kind of recording that he was leaving, doing a lot of things on his content.
Now, was he doing it for his own purposes? I don't know. I do, though, wonder how in the world he
knew where Jen and the team was at and how in the world he ended up there and how Jesse knew he was
walking in at that moment. Oh, you brought up so many things that I want to talk about now. Last
the last episode when they said that he paid his way i was like i don't know if i believe that
and then this episode they really emphasized it and then i started and it was like oh i guess he really
did maybe he did but it was definitely told them yes this is not a shock to the show the show definitely
said come on over but we're not paying for it yeah but come on over we'll make sure that you
get to see Jen and honestly
Jen handled this as well as I think you could have
Ashley did you think Matthew should have been let back
on the show um I mean like I would have left that up to Jen
I think she made the best decision which is not letting him on
I think that the guy probably
this is what happened
they probably just had a reason that we they weren't going to be together
you know they dated dated a couple years
ago and then they like kind of rekindled something over the past few months and there's the
allure of him being with the bachelorette like every lead out there has people from their
past that are watching them be the lead on this show and be like holy crap i could have been
with the bachelor or the bachelorette and i missed out on that.
And then all of a sudden that person has extra glow around them.
And it's like, oh, I can't go on without them.
And then in addition, this guy between you saying that he was documenting on social media,
I think he just also liked a TV moment.
Yeah.
I mean, it feels good, right?
Your ex is now on television.
You have this kind of romanticized idea of what this could be probably.
And you say, I'm going to go do it.
And quite honestly, like, Matt did it well.
He walked in with confidence.
He handled it well.
I actually, like you said, it's Jen made the decision she made.
I would say this, outside of everything else we know about Matt, which isn't a lot,
I really appreciated him coming into the room and being like, hey, Jen is sending me home.
I came here to try to figure this out, but she really likes the guys in this room.
And so as a result, I'm going home.
I did not, though, love the response from the OG contestants on how they kind of spoke to him.
It felt like it was very us versus him, which is a little fair.
But when a guy does what he just did, I feel like there should have been a warmer welcome of like, hey, man, thanks for, thanks for telling us that.
Best of luck.
Thanks.
Bye.
It was a little bit of like this bully outsider mentality, which I don't like.
like Matt's an outsider you don't belong here but it does show and really for the first time
all season actually i was questioning this it does show that jinn is very happy with her group of guys
i didn't actually know she was or not until this moment yeah i thought she was definitely going to
allow the him back in especially based on how they made the preview look last week they did a great
job with that preview um let's just say also about matt i felt like
I feel like everybody has that person in their past, right?
That even if they don't become the lead,
there's distance between you guys.
Say you, like, you go to different schools,
and then you start thinking, like, oh, did I miss out on that chance?
And you totally romanticize it.
So, like, I understand him having to go through that
and seeing, like, if there was one last chance.
I'm wondering, though,
just because the previews again are making it seem like this
like she doesn't pick anyone
what if in her head Matt lingers
right I mean
I wouldn't be shocked
they came to my mind watching the previews that I
would not be surprised if we find out that Matt and Jen
are actually trying to make this thing work
because he was kind of this figure now
that she was curious about there's so much we don't know about
the relationship it felt very tongue and cheek
even while they were talking to each other about things said and unsaid.
Oh, that was the other thing.
We have to talk about that.
Did he ever say, I love you?
I don't know, did he?
Because she said that she's never heard I love you before when she was talking when, when, when, who said that?
Who said that to her this episode?
Was it Devin?
It might have been Devin.
It's good.
Oh, my God, somebody, somebody said, like, I'm falling in love with you.
and then she was like, oh, yeah, it was on the one-on-one with Devin.
And he said, like, I'm falling.
And she goes, oh, my gosh, I've never, like, heard somebody say that they're falling for me before.
But Matt goes and says that he had said that before.
It's interesting.
There just feels, it feels like this could have been messy.
Like, there could have been a lot brought up that was not brought up based on, you know, his quick appearance.
It just felt like they were kind of looking at each other.
And I could be just assuming things, which I typically am.
It almost looked like Jen was looking at Matt being like, please don't say too much.
And Matt was looking at Jim and being like, do you want me to really talk about our past?
Yes.
That's what I felt.
Ben, you just said it so well, especially what happened for the past couple months.
Because I'm pretty sure it was probably between the bachelor season and her becoming the bachelorette, that they like, she said, became.
friendly again but I think that they probably were and I don't even judge there's no like there's
nothing wrong with that so if anybody's out there like how in the world could she date between shows
it's like well it's been three months four months she's single why wouldn't she if she didn't
meet her future husband during that time then please go off and be the bachelorette and she obviously
doesn't feel like she met her future husband because the only guy that we know might have been in
that time period was matt who she sent home once he arrived yeah and they brought
the weddings because she was like you went to the weddings without me because obviously they were
intending for her to be the date for him at these weddings but then she became the bachelorette yeah there was
just a lot i just felt it in her eyes like hey matt please don't mess me over here like this is
gonna be this could get a lot messier than what i want and what you want and at the end of the day
you're not my guy and so you need to go home so he did and he spoke to the men the men handled it like
children, in my opinion. And then the rose ceremony happens. The rose ceremony is right off the
beginning of this episode. Not a big shock here. Honestly, this was kind of what I expected. If you would
have said, what's the odds on favorite to go home during this rose ceremony? I would have
100% picked Thomas to be that guy. Absolutely. Thomas was the only one on my list to go home from
this batch. He felt like the guy that was there. He was kind of causing some, he was stirring up the pot a little bit,
that's kind of ended. And now at this point, his connection with Jen is not there.
His role, kind of the stir the pot, is gone. So Thomas going home was not a shock to any of us.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly. And now I'm seriously suspicious.
Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast. So we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
It's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend,
really cheated with his professor or not.

The U.S. Open is here.
And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising
stars to legends chasing history, the predictions, well, we see a first-time
winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature
cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not.
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself?
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?
To hear this and more, listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain.

Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land.
the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this.
Do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.

wait what
oh that's the run right
I'm looking at this thing
listen to no such thing
on the I heart radio app
Apple podcasts or wherever you get your
podcasts
we still have an episode in front of us
full of dates
and one-on-ones
and so we start out
with the first one-on-one
of the week and it's Jonathan
and Jen
Jonathan is somebody that you've been
a fan of since the beginning
so cute
and now you like him too you get it
I get it I thought he was really
great I thought their date
felt like
it felt natural now
I think viewership could watch him
be like hey that was like forced fun
like the producers like you guys should throw berries at each other
whatever that was
Ben I was thinking the same thing
I was like I'm so
glad I'm not the bachelorette at this moment
because this would be the most awkward date ever
where they're like, okay, Ashley, just go run in the field with him.
Like, there's no actual activity here.
Just frolic.
Yeah, you guys just helicoptered into a place that you guys are supposed to, what?
I don't know, have fun.
And it's like, okay.
But outside of even the forced fun and probably some nudging,
I do feel like they actually enjoyed themselves
and that they made this forced fun,
actually fun and silly and enjoyable for them.
but I know exactly what was happening.
They're like, Jen, talk about how Jonathan brings out your goofy side.
And she's like, he does.
And then they're like, Jonathan, talk about how fun you, how much fun you have a gin.
And that's all they wanted.
They just wanted to show that the two of them have a lot of charisma together.
But the most important point out of all of this is if somebody is making you have forced fun,
if they are forcing you into some activity that feels super awkward and goofy, if you have a partner
that you can do it with
and actually make it enjoyable
or at least not make it awkward
that you're both like
all right, let's go for it.
I do feel like that shows a compatibility.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's a lot better than being with someone
you're like,
this is so terrible.
Like this person's a bump on the log.
They're not going to enjoy any of this.
Now they're going to make it awkward
or they're going to get mad
that we're supposed to be throwing things
at each other and playing and how and go seek.
No,
I think they both like owned it and did it
and they were good partners to each other
in the midst of that.
And it makes me like,
made me like him a lot. I do feel like he is at the top of my list when it comes to
connections with Jen. He's top four now. I think I can safely put him in my top four.
He's top two for me.
Top two. Oh, yeah. See, he's in my top two as in favorites, but I don't know that he's in the
top two in Jen's favorites. We'll talk about that later, but that's an interesting statement.
So what he did was they're sitting in the hot tub and he was like, obviously we're great
at like giggling together, but do we like have a deeper emotional connection?
And at that moment, I was like, oh, is he going to be eliminated in this episode on this one-on-one?
Because he can't get deeper, but it was absolutely the opposite at dinner when he talked about, he talked about his dad wasn't really in the picture and that his mom had him very young and he felt like he needed to be strong and stable for him.
in the sisters and not very vulnerable and emotional.
And they really found common ground there.
Just his openness, I think oftentimes when you watch this and somebody opens up,
and it is important to do on one-on-one date.
It's not something that should ever be shied away from,
especially if you're trying to date this person because you don't know how many opportunities
you get.
It just felt like, again, I'll go back to this compatibility, this comfort,
this ability for the two of them to actually have a conversation that is tough and both reciprocate
not only with empathy, relatability, but just in this way that you're like, this looks like a real
date to me. This is not, you know, this isn't a one-sided date. Jen is also participating in the
conversation. She's not just a listener here. She is actually, like the two of them really feel like,
and that's why I say he goes up to my top too, because it feels like the two of them, this date
really skyrocket him for that now granted he and i i will say there is something about getting the hot tub
in the middle of nowhere date i do think that gives him with some legitimacy i think that's a big deal
isn't there something there like bachelor data has that did you have a hot tub date with somebody on
your season yeah Lauren oh really look at that so there is something there no wonder why he's in
your top too yeah there's stats there's stats here okay and then there was the kissing
the rain, which was fake rain. Oh, that was rain. Yeah, there's a lot of rain this episode. I totally
forgot about that. What other rain? Well, yeah, because if you look at the ground, it was only
raining on them. And I think it was supposed to be their rom-com moment because they were talking
about, you know, wanting a love like you see in romance movies. Yeah. I mean, this whole date
felt very good to me. I really enjoyed it. I like Jonathan. I think he's very into gin. I think he's
does this make sense he's just the appropriate amount into jen he's not like overwhelmed and
like oh my gosh my world is falling down around me he's not a sam n he's not a sam in
no he's not freaking out he just feels like this could go a long ways there's some
longevity to this relationship he feels safe to me he feels safe is a good word now i don't know
if safe is the one at the end i think she'll have to decide does she want safe or does she want
a risk or maybe she doesn't want anybody um i'm just going to be confused on at this point
why jonathan would ever go home it feels like everything is kind of aligning for those two to really
work okay because i think she's going to find i think she might go with more of a passion
yeah well she loves the passion which we see in the final one-on-one but before we get to the final
one-on-one we do have a group date the group date uh card says this love is messy uh and it was and it is
is and devon sam marcus spencer jeremy dillon austin all go on this date i loved this group date i thought
it was the perfect group day best group date you know how i usually pick up my phone and scroll during
group dates when there's activities this was so fun take them to the farm have them shovel poop
having them shepherd the sheep was awesome great the guys seemed like they just really had a good time with
it, no complaints. Great. I mean, was Devin the greatest farmer? Again, I don't, no, definitely
not. But I don't think like anybody stood out as the best farmer. And that was just a, that was
definitely foreseen. I could see that Devin was, you know, he was being pulled aside.
You know, it's still that kind of narrative of Devin has a target on his back. Devin's taking
her, stealing all the time, all that stuff. I think that's overplayed, though. At this point,
I don't know why it still exists in episode five, because this is such a turning point,
usually each season, episode five, is where we start to get more serious with most relationships
or the like conversations about who's good and whose bad kind of ends, or at least if it still
continues, then next week's the two-on-one and one of those people end up going home. Devons, I don't
think we see much more of this, but Devon does win more time with Jen, which we don't really
see a lot of, if any at all. They just make out. They just kind of make out, which is cool, good.
They both wanted it. Um, especially after.
shoveling poop all day. But I love this group date because I think for contestants,
it took a lot of pressure off of them. It took a lot of pressure off of gin. And it's fun to go to
these new countries and do something that maybe you would never have done in the United States.
There's not like farms that you can just say call up and be like, hey, can I come over and
shovel your your poop and like, you know, shave your sheep for a bit? No, that's not a deal.
So it's cool that they get to do that there. They probably learn something. Dingleberries,
how to take off dingleberries. I think it's great. So what a great group date. What a great
idea from the show to do it was enjoyable to watch and it was also enjoyable to see how these guys
kind of reacted to it they all want to you know some of them were you know digging in literally
and others of them were like hey not my deal and i don't really get involved in this kind of stuff
so great group date really enjoyed it but it does lead us then into the night portion of the date
which devon is still a part of and all the other guys are a part of as well and so this is where
Austin decides to leave and I felt like this was an ego move so Austin to me has been I mean I like
him I think he's cute right and but he he's been feeling like he's under the radar and not getting a
one-on-one not getting attention having his relationship not compared to the other guys he says he
feels like he steps and steps below the other guys and when he goes up to her and says that he's
it feels to me like he wanted to dump her before she dumped him yeah right and there was no
reasoning besides that to me no I just felt like he had gotten in his own head and had said hey
I'm not the one and he probably isn't and so if he wanted to go on home go home and is on his
own accord great I don't think it's really how this is all supposed to play out but I don't
I also think if he was in the top choices for her she could have convinced him she didn't
try any convincing she more like went internal was like what am i doing wrong here why are these guys
not into me um it was like girl it's not it's not that guys aren't into you it's that like he just
he just felt his ego was bruised because he wasn't getting probably the attention that he does
back at home and he just didn't want to be he just didn't want to be sent home by you yeah so
he made the first move to to not be um but like also do you think that the producers knew that like
if a guy went home, especially without much reasoning,
that it was really going to F with her psyche,
which it did and her self-worth.
And so they're like, hey, let's like,
let's make her feel something here for a second.
Happened to me.
Yeah.
Happened to me during the Bachelor season.
One, I had, you know, two people go home early on, on their own.
And then in the Bahamas, all the girls got mad at me
because they felt like I was spending too much time giving attention
to a few of the girls that were definitely in the top.
They weren't wrong about their criticism of judgment.
But then they were all like, I'm going home.
Because if you're done with me or if I'm not even in consideration, I'm going home.
And it did, it mess with me bad.
I remember being like, I don't think I can save this.
Every one of these girls is going to go home.
And I'm going to be sitting here being like,
I'm the only bachelor at week six to lose all of them at once,
which wouldn't have been a shock to me.
I was just like, I thought the show was supposed to protect me from this.
But it messed with your psyche.
it humbles you, but it also makes you refocus a lot on, hey, maybe I am not giving attention to
some of these guys, and I do want them or need them to be here. It's good for everybody. And so I
need to start, you know, caring for them a little more. So yes, I think the show is like, this is
perfect. Go ahead, Austin, go home, tell you're going home, doesn't bother us at all. Let's shake
Jen up a bit, get her refocused.
and the reaction she gets from the guys is actually wonderful she goes in and she tells them how
she's feeling about how she's like worried about being worthless there's a lot in this episode
that you can just tell that like her dad leaving the family really just wrecked her to the core
and it really did have her choose the wrong guys when she started getting to the dating age and all that
but these guys like kind of go around in a circle and I feel like it was unprompted at least I like to think that it was unprompted sharing about how like they have felt similarly to her before yeah it was it was a great moment and I do think they all stepped up there is one thing about the group date that we haven't talked about that I want to talk about but what's the guy's name that was petting her head Jeremy how is he still there I thank you
you he's the only one when we look around the circle that I'm like yeah I don't get that one
it's like I mean this guy I'm sure he's a nice guy he's good looking whatever but like we
haven't seen any moments with him and Jen and fact every moment we have seen has been pretty
awkward I mean this literally I was watching this was like he's just petting her hair like
just smack in the back of her head that's and I like that Jim was like what are you doing
are you petting you but like I think that they kind of like like each other in the sense that
there is like that playfulness where she's like why are you petting me he's definitely the next to go
like he does not survive next week yeah that would be shocked if he did but maybe there is the
playfulness maybe there is the comfort i don't know what you call it but it was a weird moment and
i was shocked that dylan went home above him but that's you know something we're talking about
later that that's a good point then yeah kind of shocked
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?

The U.S. Open is here.
And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, their whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive.
For all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not?

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this.
Do this.
Pull that.
Turn this.
It's just.
I can do my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devon.
And on our new show, no sense.
such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert
on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they
lack expertise. And then as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the
run right. I'm looking at this thing. Listen to No Such Thing on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
we do have the grant and gin date this was a massive date for many reasons right grant came out of
the limo as one of the favorites he definitely stood out he had confidence uh he had the swagger he had
uh you and i didn't trust him because because the swagger and the looks but he's grown on me a lot
especially this episode he grew me a lot we saw him kind of bring his guard down uh and actually
talk you know him and we were saying grant and sam kind of had this same same thing going where it felt
like they spoke in movie lines for a bit but this episode we could see so much of grant where he
actually converses with her and you know shares his heart shares his feeling shares who he is and
i'm like this is a good dude for you jim like this is a guy that's up there now for me
uh and i wasn't convinced initially so walk us through this one-on-one and at the end i want to talk
about what you think this means moving forward well this
This is one-on-one, you know, what did they do?
What was an activity?
Why don't I remember in their activity?
Hold on.
Do you remember their activity?
Horseback riding.
Oh.
Okay.
So the two of them go horseback riding.
It's cute.
It's playful.
But it's the nighttime portion of the day where we, like, feel connected to him
because he starts talking about his dad.
Yeah.
And now his dad has been, he's been addicted to.
when we're not really 100% sure, but I know he has an alcohol problem.
And he's been in rehab over the past very recently.
And he just came out of rehab.
And it's the first time that he and his dad have, like, connected in a sober way.
And he just, again, there's the, that compatibility or that shared experience and the fact that, like, he hasn't had a full father figure the way that she hasn't had a father figure.
and we just we feel depth from him and I just feel like he is way more sincere than we thought
that he was yeah I think his story was one that so many people in the audience will probably
watch and be like I either understand or this helps make you make sense you're a wise person
you've been through a lot you obviously are somebody that wants to stand beside those who are
hurting. There was a lot there when he was speaking about his experience with his father that just
felt like for me personally, I said, I want to watch more of this guy. I want to learn more about
him. There's so much now to uncover. And I really appreciated this date. I think these two
one-on-ones this episode were absolutely incredible when it comes to connections moving forward.
And when I asked you the question, what do you think this means moving forward? What I was getting to
is because in my eyes,
and maybe it's just a recency bias that I have,
Jonathan and Grant are my top two for her.
Really?
Yeah.
I think they could be a smart top two for her,
but I don't think they'll be her top two.
That's why I was so curious when you said
that Jonathan now sneaks into the top four.
I was like, all right, he's either one or two.
Grant and him are going back and forth.
We're going to, again, we'll talk more about that
as the episode ends here and as we stop our recording because we go through our top fours.
But obviously somebody not in the top four is, well, the person that goes home from the Rose ceremony this episode.
We don't have a cocktail party.
You know, Jen already knows what she's going to do, which is kind of shocking considering how it plays out.
She ends up sending Dylan home, which for me was a shock.
I don't feel like we got to see enough of Dylan.
He seemed to be very well liked in the house.
He seemed to have a lot of friends in the house.
And he also, at least episode one, I think it was,
it felt like he was kind of a main character
and going to definitely make some waves here during this season.
I know.
The only other guy who didn't have a one-on-one in this group is Jeremy.
So I really thought I was going to be between him and Jeremy.
And I guess when it comes down to it, does it really matter?
They're both going to go home.
But it was just unfortunate, I think, that Dylan,
her didn't connect just because he just seemed like a good stand-up guy and they're both in the
medical field and who knows who knows why it wasn't there but it wasn't there and if we are
going to go into what we think is going to happen there's a little spoiler in the um since the
next episode and that is you see her with devon in front of a home and it's definitely not like
a mansion or anything like that it is it is an american home yeah so we can assume he makes it to
hometowns he makes it to hometowns and i guess that's not a huge spoiler that's like probably something
they could put in there because he's just been such a prominent character yeah yeah so i think that
we can both put devon in our top four because it's basically in front of her eyes yeah um and then
i'm going to put sam and then i'm going to put jonathan then my like hmm the person the
person who I think can be
who do I think can be in there
who's like my
up in the air dude
I guess we could put Grant in there
you've always liked Marcus
Marcus there we go thank you
Marcus Marcus is going to get in there over Grant for me
so it's Grant and Jonathan
Marcus
for me and then Devin
I think that's my top four
so you don't have Sam in there
no you think that she's going to get over sam in the next week yeah that would mean that sam
gets eliminated next week i think he gets eliminated next week why i just feel you're just saying this
for interest i think it's just coming it has to come at some point especially with all of the stuff
online that's been happening you know with his family kind of commenting on their relationship and
you know making the statement that jim's going to look like an idiot and all this stuff i've been in baby
world. Tell me what this is about. On Instagram, his family has been commenting on his pictures
in defense of him, especially when the weeks were going on where, you know, people weren't reacting
well to him. And they just said, just wait till how this plays out. But that makes me feel like
they met her. Yeah, it could. I don't know. It could. I just don't have, uh, I just can't put
them in my top four because I just don't think it plays out well. And those guys I still think have a
chance. I think they still have a chance to be there next week and the weekend.
after and the week after the four I mentioned, I think could be the hometown four. That's my
prediction right now. I have no idea, but it is my prediction right now. I do think Grant will be
there because of this really sweet moment we see with him and Marcus. And it just says a lot about
Marcus, I think. I mean, Grant definitely had his episode. This was a big episode for him,
but telling Marcus, like, I'm falling for her. Oh, yeah. And him trusting Marcus with that information.
That was really cute. Can we not, can we not really like?
share this with the group and he's like I won't do that man that is just like that reminded me
of my time on The Bachelor at with some of those guys like with a Jared where I could be like hey Jared
I know this is weird I know this whole thing doesn't make any sense it's all crazy but can I talk to you
because I haven't had anybody else to talk to I just need to talk to somebody I trust even if this is weird
and like those are the moments now I look back on I'm like those were some of my favorites because it
you know it was the best of guys that you choose to want to do that with and Jared was definitely one
of those for me. He remembers this time
with you in the sauna.
Sana. Yeah, we sent a sanna for three hours just talking
about stuff because we knew they could have mics in there.
Yes. Oh, thank you
for bringing that moment up between the two of them.
It was really sweet. And seeing
him cry over feeling
love, that
totally changed my opinion on him.
Yeah, I mean, that's why I'm saying.
He's a sweetie.
Those two are
those two are far and beyond in my
eyes. And it's interesting that they're not in yours.
Oh, Marcus is. And I would hate to see him leave next, either of them leave next week,
which I'm saying that it would. But we'll see. Okay. I have to say, can I give you my prediction?
Yes. Especially after you tell me about the family's comments. Yes.
I think it's going to go down to Sam and Devin. And I think that the family is referring to something that she does in the end.
which is like either don't propose to me or it's just she's going to pick no one and they're
going to be like look she screwed him over and i think that getting down between sam and and devon
who both have like some you know it wasn't so prevalent during this episode but have had tension
before and they're both alphas and it would just be really good tv it'll be a nick vile shambu
But that's what it is.
It's either Nick Vial and Sean Booth or it's Nick and Josh.
Oh, yeah, from previous season.
Interesting, it happened twice for Nick.
That's, I never thought about that way.
Roast's Germany happens.
Dylan does go home, as we mentioned.
We have the preview.
Ashley's mentioned it.
We do see Devin kind of standing in front of door.
It makes us assume he's there at least through hometowns.
There's a lot of tears.
There's a lot of cutting and pasting here.
We don't exactly know what happens.
but the one thing I think Ashley and I would stand firm on
is we still both believe she doesn't end up with anybody
at the end of this season.
Yeah, but now that they're teasing that so much,
do you think they're just trying to throw us off?
No, I think it's 100% what's going to happen.
I don't see it.
Why are they going to tease it so much?
Why wouldn't they just make it a real surprise?
Because I think they're almost thinking it's like reverse psychology.
Yeah. Like if we tease it, they'll never believe it,
kind of that thing.
Because for so many years they've teased things and it's never happened.
Remember we complained here, we're like, they're going to lose a trust of the viewers if they keep doing this.
I think they probably listen to the almost famous podcast.
They probably trust our opinions.
And they're like, now we're going to actually build in the trust of the viewership by actually doing what we said we're going to do.
Yeah.
And sometimes that is the best way to end a season dramatically is like when you watch a movie where like somebody, there's some murderer.
And then the murderer ends up being the one that was obvious the entire time.
That's the actual twist.
Yeah.
It's the actual twist.
I think it's how it plays out.
we have more exciting episodes coming your way.
We still have headlines coming out this week.
Obviously, this is episode five of the Bachelorette season where Jen is leading and leading
well.
She's actually crushing it.
She's a great bachelorette.
She's so gorgeous.
Very likable.
And I just, I hope no matter what she finds some happiness, I just don't know where or when
it's going to happen.
I don't think it happens from the show.
But Jen has been awesome.
And we look forward to next week, episode six, breaking it down with you right here.
