We'll talk science without the jargon and get your real answers to the stuff you,
Starting point is 00:01:57 actually wonder about. So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. What up, y'all? It's your boy, Kevin on stage. I want to tell you about my new podcast called Not My Best Moment, where I talk to artists, athletes, entertainers, creators, friends, people I admire who had massive success about their massive failures. What did they mess up on? What is their heartbreak? And what did they learn from it? I got judged horribly. The judges were like, You're trash. I don't know how you got on the show.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Check out Not My Best Moment with me, Kept on stage, on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcast. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio. Hey, guys, it's the Almost Famous Podcast. It's just me today. But I have two of, two other hosts, actually, two other very prominent hosts in this world. The Bachelor Happy Hour podcast host, Joe and Serena. Hello, all. Hello.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Thanks. I miss you guys. I truly miss you guys. I would love to see you soon sometime. We miss you. We were hoping you were going to be here. Yeah, we thought you would be. You know,
Starting point is 00:03:12 when you're a mom, it's just like it's a lot. Sometimes it's nice. They get me over there on the other coast for Jonas Brothers. You were just here for the Jonas Brothers. Did you watch the Jonas Brothers Christmas movie? Did you love it?
Starting point is 00:03:28 We started it and then Joe was like, oh, this is a musical. I don't know. Let's watch something else. But I'm definitely circling back. My sister's watched it like three times already. Really? Oh, you know, it's really every third day in her house.
Starting point is 00:03:39 She just like it's such a great, happy, easy watch. She throw it on in the background. It's like so Christmassy. Okay. They're coming up with Camp Rock 3. Did you see? Yes. I hope that Camp Rock 3 kind of follows the methodology that this movie has
Starting point is 00:03:52 because it's so of our. age. Like, it was made for 30-somethings who've been fans of the Jonas Brothers. It's so funny. It's really well scripted. It's, I think it's genuinely enjoyable to anybody who's not a fan, but if you're a fan, like everything is hilarious. Yeah. I feel like it's Rotten Tomato Score was decent. It was. It's in the 90s. Yeah. Oh, was it in the 90s? Yeah. Jared, you know, big movie critic, and he was like, that was an enjoyable watch. So, you know, you should have, I think you probably turned it off during Best Night, which is a fantastic song. But it's the beginning of like everything is very tongue-in-cheek and very self-aware.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I just don't love musicals. Yeah, no, it's a 92% tomato meter. Yeah. It's supposed to be a funny musical. Like, oh, my gosh, they're bursting out in song now. It's so ridiculous. It's like self-aware that's ridiculous. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I'm going to watch it. So, yeah, let's circle back. All right. Thanks, do it for me. So, Joe, you just ran the New York City Marathon. Our nanny just ran too. And she was kind of excited that there's so many Bachelor Nation runners. Where did you place amongst everyone?
Starting point is 00:05:11 I placed pretty well. I did a three, sorry, I lost my voice this weekend. So you hear the raspiness. And I apologize to your listeners. I placed, I did a 3.49. my goal was like 335 which I was pacing out for and then like around mile 17 I just I just slowed down because I got I just my body just kind of gave out but his last marathon he ran a 359 so he was trying to shave off like 30 minutes I shaved off 10 I shaved off 10 which is incredibly impressive yeah Joe was this your second marathon then second marathon yeah yeah why how I just don't understand. It's mind-boggling to me.
Starting point is 00:05:59 How, what's the fear level like? I'm just scared for everyone else running. You know what? It's not, I don't, it's, it's, I don't have any fear going into it. And honestly, when people ask me, I'm like, I get more nervous. I go, like, I don't have to speak, you know, I don't have to, like, step on stage and do something. That's more nerve-wracking than just, like, running. it gets just really
Starting point is 00:06:24 what you worry about and it happens it happened to me both times is stomach cramps because you can't run through stomach cramps it's really hard so I just I just focused on my breath and my breath work
Starting point is 00:06:37 and then usually I run I do end up running through it but if those get really bad you're done and then you're like you don't want to be the person mile five mile six and you have to start walking because then it's going to take five hours
Starting point is 00:06:51 six hours to finish, and that's horrible. Oof. Did you run into anyone from Bachelor? Yeah, I mean, I run with release, which is Zach Clark's charity foundation. And then in the, in the tent, I mean, I saw Matt James and Tasha were both there. And Tyler, I saw him and his girlfriend. How was the interaction between you and Tasia? Because I know that you guys have a history. Oh, we're cool. Yeah, we're cool. Yeah, we're cool. Yeah, we're cool. Yeah, we're cool. Yeah. Okay, so you basically saw everyone. What is your treat afterward? How do you reward yourself? I, like, the first year was much more rewarding. I remember. I was like, I wanted, I want to get shake shack and I did. This year. I don't even remember what we ordered. I ordered. I ordered pizza. It was great, but I was in so much pain because I had.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I ran with like ankle compression sleeves and I never ran with those before and they cut off in the middle of my foot so I ended up getting two massive blisters and they broke open and I just when I finished the race both socks were full of blood and yeah yeah so it took
Starting point is 00:08:09 honestly my recovery this time was about a week I got infections I had to go to the doctor it was a little rough so why do you do it is the charity component because that is a good answer.
Starting point is 00:08:23 But I would just rather donate the money online. That's fair. That's fair. I am somebody that loves working towards a goal. I enjoy running. It's therapy to me. I don't know if I'll ever do another marathon because I don't want to lose the enjoyment of it because I do enjoy running.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I do enjoy running slow and long. And yeah, I think it's, it's, it's, working towards a goal. I enjoy that. Yeah. Serena, how are you when he's training? And then what, what do you do on the day of with the marathon? Do you, like, go to different points? Yeah. Zach's foundation release has like a watch spot at the 18th mile. So I went there and watched him run by there. And then I book it to the finish line. The first year, I failed. I got to the 18th mile we saw him he saw me it was great and then we were like oh like we have tons of time we'll walk to the finish line and then we were running to the finish line and then there was like a 30 minute wait
Starting point is 00:09:29 to get to the finish line and we missed him and it was devastating but this year we had the schedule on lock so we hit him up at the 18th mile he ran right past me didn't see me I'm like screaming his name I was looking for her too because I gave her I gave her I yeah yeah yeah I totally missed well because you know what you guys said eight my 18 and you were at mile 17. I think I said we were right before mile 18. Yeah, but I missed them. There's a huge flag that says release.
Starting point is 00:09:56 He's not even looking around. He's just dead pan forward. But we got to the finish line, which was great and exciting. And you saw me there. I mean, I am a little, you know, I'm running a marathon. I know. I felt really stressed because I was like, I have his snacks. And if he wants them and he starts looking for me,
Starting point is 00:10:18 later, he's going to think that, like, I didn't go or I missed it. Like, I was like, I have one job and I want him to know, like, I completed this. I was here for you. Yes. But you said you didn't end up needing them. So it's, it all worked out. It's fine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:32 And I got to see you, which was cool. Aw, so sweet. Well, guys, you have been living in New York for a while now. Do you still love it? We do. Yeah, we do. We do. It's a problem.
Starting point is 00:10:43 It's a problem because we just keep renewing our lease. We want to want to leave. We want to want to go. somewhere else and get a bigger apartment and not pay crazy money and rent and like you wake up in New York and they charge you $100 just to be there, it feels like. But we do love it so much. I feel like even just like in the suburbs it's just $100 to leave the house. Yeah, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:03 But like we love not having a car and we love the food scene and all the things. So every year around this time we do the like, should we leave? Should we resign? And yeah, I think we'll probably resign. This is such a great time of year in New York too, like the holiday season. Like it's just so nice. Yeah, I just can't believe that Joe, after spending his entire life in Chicago, thinks that New York's better.
Starting point is 00:11:27 It's, well, Chicago is a funny city. Chicago, I mean, I love Chicago. I'm from Chicago. But, like, in growing up in Chicago, the mentality is this is the greatest city in the world. And that's what everyone will tell you. And so many people don't even leave Chicago. And they're like, well, how do you know? People in Chicago.
Starting point is 00:11:43 That's Rhode Island. Yeah. They are like, when you go to Chicago, people from Chicago are like, this is. is the best city in the world, like, without a doubt. They feel so passionately about their city. Yeah, but I do, I believe that New York is the best. It is my favorite. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Well, when you guys decide to have kids, I'm sure that that is when the whole, are we going to renew our lease thing, might change. Yeah. Well, yeah, we can't, we're right now in the debate of, like, could we even fit a dog in this apartment if we wanted to, which I genuinely don't think we could. A little one we could.
Starting point is 00:12:16 But then it's like the crate and the dog bed and the food. We don't have any room right now for anything extra. Yeah. So it's like, how are we supposed to fit another human being? Not a chance. A dog's not a human being. No, I'm just, she was saying like when you eventually try to have kids, that's going to be the instigator. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:32 But we can't have a kid in a 650 square foot apartment. We just can't. No. I mean, you could, but it's not going to be fun. Being a parent is basically a juggling act. Dinner, hockey practice. homework, a last-minute science project, and someone's always, always shouting for you from another room. So yeah, I'll take any shortcuts that actually works, and that's why I'm all in

Starting point is 00:13:47 found yourself with more questions than answers? And what is this? How is that not a story we all know? What's this? Where is that? Why is it wet? Boy, do we have a show for you? From smartless media, campside media, and big money players
Starting point is 00:14:03 comes crimeless. Join me, Josh Dean, investigative journalists. And me, Roy Scoval, comedian, as we celebrate the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals. We'll look into some of the silliest ways folks have in the laws. Honestly, it feels
Starting point is 00:14:19 more like a high-level prank than a crime. Who catfish is a city? And meets some memorable anti-heroes. There are thousands of angry, horny monkeys. Clap if you think, she's a witch. And it freaks you out. He has x-ray vision. How could I not follow him?
Starting point is 00:14:36 Honestly, I got to follow me. He can see right through me. Listen to Crimless on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Dad had the strong belief that the devil was attacking us. Two brothers, one devout household, two radically different paths.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Gabe Ortiz became one of the highest-ranking law enforcement officers in Texas. 32 years, total law enforcement experience. But his brother Larry, he stayed behind and built an entirely different legacy. He was the head of this gang, and nobody was going to tell him what to do. You're going to push that line for the cause. Took us under his wing and showed us the game, as they called. it. When Larry is murdered, Gabe is forced to confront the past he tried to leave behind and uncover secrets he never saw coming. My dad had a whole other life that we never knew about. Like my mom
Starting point is 00:15:30 started screaming my dad's name and I just heard one gunshot. The Brothers Ortiz is a gripping true story about faith, family, and how two lives can drift so far apart and collide in the most devastating way. Listen to the Brothers Ortiz on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Stefan Curry, and this is Gentleman's Cut. I think what makes Gentleman's Cut different is me being a part of developing the profile of this beautiful finished product.

Starting point is 00:16:22 Hey there, Dr. Jesse Mills here. I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health. And I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mailroom. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years. I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Well, that's true. Every week we're breaking down the unique world of men's health from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility and things that happen in the bedroom. You mean sleep? Yeah, something like that, Jordan. We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about.
Starting point is 00:17:03 It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. we want you to live better. So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. Do you guys have separate areas that you can retreat to?
Starting point is 00:17:31 No. Well, we have the living room slash kitchen area, which is like you walk in to our main area. And then we have like a little mini hallway that goes into our bedroom where you can shut the door there. So it's all like a full open studio. Somebody watches TV in the one room and the other one or the other thing. Like if we both have a call at the same time, like, he has a desk in the kitchen area.
Starting point is 00:17:48 He can like take it there and then I take out like my vanity in the bedroom. Or the outdoors. Okay. Got it. The outdoors. What do you mean? Like on the streets. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Like if you get it, you go for a walk. Oh, yeah. If you're like, I need some solo time, you can take a walk. Yeah. It's the best place to take a walk, I would say. Yes. I would prefer a city walk. I think that's more soulful to me than taking a walk like out in grassy areas.
Starting point is 00:18:11 The good thing in New York is there's always people walking. Like you're never, it never feels weird. or you're out there by yourself. Like, there's always people walking around. Whereas I do feel like coming to, like, L.A. or even in some areas of Chicago, you're walking around and it's just dead because everyone's in their cars.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Yeah. So you guys obviously talk about Bachelor for a living in some capacity. What do you think about Taylor-Fringy Paul being The Bachelor at? I love it. I love it, too. I mean, I think it's, honestly, I think it's the best.
Starting point is 00:18:41 So we're all on the same page. Do you love it too? We all want the, we all want it to go forward. This is probably the best way to do so. Well, I think it's good for the franchise. We love Mormon wives. Do you watch Mormon wives? I've watched pretty much most of the first season, so I have to catch up.
Starting point is 00:18:57 And I will, of course, by the time her series starts. Well, they're almost done filming. So I'm curious to hear a little bit how it went. They're going through Thanksgiving. Do you think they took that week off? Or do you think that she did Thanksgiving with families? No, that would be good. That would be good.
Starting point is 00:19:15 I don't know. Yeah, they did film through Thanksgiving. I don't know. Maybe they did like a... I'm sure they took that day off. You think? Yeah. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Yeah, they probably took a couple days off there. Yeah. So anything about... What do you have thoughts of that's like topical in Bachelor Nation? I feel like Alex and Andrew are definitely on their way to marriage. And then we have Dale and Kat who just broke up and we think that that's not. No surprise. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Have either of them put out a statement? No. It was just like confirmed by a source that they've broken up, right? Sort of. Yeah. Well, that's the interesting thing about Bachelor in Paradise now. There's, I don't think, there's not as much emphasis on the couple because of the game element. I don't feel like you have to be like almost put even put out an announcement where prior it did feel like the only thing at the end was like, like, like,
Starting point is 00:20:14 like what you won was the relationship. And I feel like now, because of the money element, you win a little more. So I don't know. Like, basically, it didn't seem weird to me that Catendale didn't put anything out. Where I think prior years... It totally would have been weird prior years.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But I agree. Yeah, I don't think anyone was like, what happened? Like, where's the statement? Ah, like, whereas in the past, it would be like so much speculation, all the things happening. I think people just kind of like,
Starting point is 00:20:42 we're like, yeah, okay. And like accepted it. But they also haven't, I mean, I follow both of them. They don't haven't really been posting a lot together. So it's not like... They didn't post anything with each other until since September. They haven't. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:53 So I feel like it's different when like a couple's posting up a storm. And then all of a sudden the next day, it's like the rings off and the statements up. And then everyone's kind of jarred. Well, normally we see them have to like have a conclusion moment where people get engaged or break up. Yeah. And since they didn't force that this year, if you're just breaking up as boyfriend and girlfriend, and it's just not that as big of a deal. I do feel like those like,
Starting point is 00:21:18 the structure of where it's like either break up or go to fantasy suites and then either break up or get engaged makes the stakes of the relationship feel so much more intense because you're like shown a commitment to each other twice on the show of like now we're doing this.
Starting point is 00:21:35 And I feel like not having that. It really, yeah, like when I think back to the season of Paradise, I really think way more about the game element than I do about the relationships. Yeah. Yeah. I'm curious. to see if they keep doing that.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I feel like it'll be like a cherry-picking situation. They'll keep some stuff. They'll let go of other stuff. Because it was a lot of newness this season. Yeah, I was talking to Joan and Kathy and season, and we were saying that actually it kind of worked out because Alex's life totally changed without the student loans.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Yeah, I mean, that's true. Or, you know, maybe they don't do the game element and the season's way bigger and she makes a lot of money doing brand deals. Doing other things. It goes off her loans that way. Good critical thinking. I have Grant coming on, I think, after you guys.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Oh, yeah. What do we ask Grant about? Ooh, well, we just had Giuliana on the podcast. Yeah, we just had her on, yeah. Exactly. She was telling you guys that they pretty much broke up right after the final rows, or at least it was a big fight, and then he had spent time planning the statement. I would ask him, I guess he had some options.
Starting point is 00:22:44 that he presented to her of like, hey, these are the ways we could roll out our breakup. I would ask him what his options are and I would rank them from best to worst. Okay. I would also ask him what happened to his music career. You know, his passion for music seems to have gone MIA and when's the next EP getting released. Well, we also have, you know, the dating show that he's like going to give advice on. Oh, really? What is that?
Starting point is 00:23:13 Wait, what? He teased that he had a show coming where he was going to be like the dater, like the guy that was the dating coach. The dating coach? Is this like a real show or is this like a series that he's going to do? I think it's something that he was going to put together.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Okay, he was going to put together like an Instagram series or something coaching people. Yeah. So then just last question about Juliana. Did Juliana tell you anything about their breakup, that it should definitely be addressed with him? I mean, the main thing was that big fight.
Starting point is 00:23:50 And then him saying, like, you know, I've kind of think we should announce it. And she wasn't really there yet. I think you would also ask, like, how did those next couple months go? Like, you obviously had this big fight. You were ready to roll out a breakup statement. And then, you know, we chatted with them. They were still together, like, a few months later. So, like, what happened?
Starting point is 00:24:12 Why didn't, why did it last so much longer after you were, like, ready to drop it on Instagram? Thank you. Thank you for the ideas. You're welcome. I hope it goes great. We're wishing them both the best. Thanks. Well, thanks, guys.
Starting point is 00:24:27 It's always so wonderful to see you. Have a great time at Jingle Ball. Thanks. We'll miss you. All right, bye.
