or wherever you listen to your favorite shows this is the ben and ashley i almost famous podcast
with iHeart radio hey everyone it is a treat for me to be hosting this podcast which is the almost
Sanchez podcast meets the Jonas brothers the I mean no Jonas isn't here I did put an early
request in it was not met I said can we at least get Franklin and then uh I got no response
a mate she she doesn't care about my wishes it's all good look at just type it along okay um
so I am joined here on this podcast by Susan Kathy
Daisy, Mari,
Susie, Indiana,
and we're all going to the Jonas Concert tonight
in San Francisco.
It's a couple of your first.
It's going to be Susan and Kathy's first.
Daisy, you've been.
No.
Oh, hold the mic up to your mouth.
You've never been to a Jonas concert before?
No.
Why not?
Oh, wait, no, I have.
I actually have.
I guess it was memorable for you.
I was like a, I think I was a junior in college.
Okay.
So you're wearing, we all have hats.
Thank you, Amy, for making these personalized, amazing hats.
Mine, of course, says, I'm a Joe girl.
It says, I'm in my Joe era.
It's been 18 years.
And, well, Susan is really into Joe right now.
I showed her some thirst traps on Instagram that I've saved into Joe album, and she's really
on board.
Very sexy.
Wow.
All the lips, the eyes.
really every single future um so i have talked about how joe is my hall pass uh would he be your
hall pass with your boyfriend now okay great kathy's also been introduced to jonas brothers today
and kathy your thoughts yeah put your mic to your mouth i think their bodily parts are very well
packaged so she has she's like looking at the nether regions more than the face and um i mean listen
he's they're cute they have cute hair they have good hair salis great hair
hair and you know what it's just taught me if you
put a guy in really tight
pants doesn't matter if you can sing or dance just
she loves tight pants
okay well you're in for a tree tonight they've
always been known for their tight pants
did you want
oh these these ladies
the goldins love their bulges
it's been a topic of discussion
for the last like hour
I think
it's been the topic of discussion
find out how tall they are
the rumor has it
they're 5-7 but you know what
I told you before I'll make an
exception for age height all of it okay so um just letting you know Kevin has been married for like
15 years so he's out of the running Joe is single and he's 36 and that's that's that's
he's going for for me he can have an affair with my daughter who's also married okay
so keep in the family where do I get to go in this all right and then Mari's been to how many
have you been to you think um I think I've been to like 12 this will be my 12 okay
I'm pretty sure this is like my 38th.
Wow.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to go through and count one day.
It's pretty far gone now, the number.
Okay, Susie, do you know a number?
I actually don't know.
I should text my best girlfriends because they have the memory.
And I've got the memory of a goldfish.
So I want to say like around, like between seven and ten.
Okay.
At times I've seen them, maybe not always their concerts, but like they've appeared somewhere
where I've been.
Yeah. And Deanna? You guys are all better off than me. I've never had the luxury to see the brothers in person. It's going to be a magical night.
Listen, my options are just vast. I'm very excited. Deanna, can you name all three of them? I mean,
Joe, Kevin, and Nick. Oh, come on, Kathy.
Sorry.
Joe Kevin and Nick. Okay.
He's married to Priyong. Yep, exactly. So then I wanted to.
to ask you newbies to the fandom.
Do you know who the bonus, Jonas is?
Frankie.
Frankie, who now goes by Franklin.
Frank.
Franklin.
Good, good.
We're going to play some trivia.
So we'll go into trivia first.
And this is mainly targeted to Mari and Susie.
I'm so bad at everything.
Like, yeah, we might be the worst at this.
Okay.
They're actually kind of hard.
And I have to say, I didn't really come up with them on my own,
which is shocking.
what are the names of Kevin's daughters which I did I do know this good job I thought it was really crazy
when I even told Kevin this once I was like I can't believe that your daughter's name is Alina rose
because my daughter's name since like I'm never going to have a daughter now but in my head if I were to ever
had one in 2008 or something I came up with the name Arena Rose and that was going to be the name
and then when they announced the baby girl's name
was Alina Rose, I was like, this is
too weird, they're going to think I copied it.
But Jared would have never let me name
a daughter arena.
I think it's pretty because I wanted
it to be arena like going to a
concert at a Jonas concert arena
because that's where I feel high on life
and like most alive. I love that.
Do you guys know
what their name would be
or one of the names that they had in the running
if they weren't
going to be named
the Jonas Brothers.
That's it.
Sons of Jonas is one of them.
He's the real fan.
She's the real fan here.
Okay.
True or false,
Jonas Brothers have had a Christmas album.
True.
Oh, look at y'all.
The answer is actually,
Deanna's right.
It is false.
They have released a handful.
An E.P.
A handful of Christmas albums
but never an EP or an album.
Wow.
How?
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
What is Nick's nickname?
It's kind of more of an old, it's more of a...
Does he do a dance to it?
Is there like a...
No.
This is like...
This is kind of like early Jonas, not like modern...
Off the chain.
That's what I was thinking, yeah.
The chain is a good answer, but the real...
Oh, Mr. President.
Okay, that was...
Yeah, there is.
Are you having an affair?
Yeah.
Marie?
What's Jonas's
What's Joe's birthday?
August.
Oh,
oh, Susie knows it.
What?
Gosh.
Is it August 13th?
August.
Up?
Nope.
Yeah, up.
18th?
20, 8.
19th?
15th.
And every time I see August 15th on my calendar,
I go, what day is that?
Ah, yes.
Joe's birthday. That's why it sticks out to me.
I know because I'm a Leo and I'm like, a fellow Leo, two attention whores.
Oh, that's right. Wait, is it Kathy's son? I share a birthday?
My son's August 18. Yeah, that's me. Wow. Yeah. If you weren't gay, I'd set you up with them.
Oh, man, that'd be great. Maybe it still could be a lavender marriage.
Okay. If you need it, you know, down the line, you just need it.
so my last question for the hardcore fans of the group is who would you want which brother would
you want or trust the most to get you off of a deserted island nick 1,000% Nick is my answer to
Nick is getting me off the island actually more than anybody else I may ever know
he's figuring that shit out yeah yeah I don't know I'm leaning I'm leaning towards Kevin he feels
very responsible we may not even have ended up on the
island to begin with if I was like with Kevin you know what I mean that's definitely true
you would have prevented the disaster from happening we all know that Joe on the island
yeah we would just end up being like it would just be George the jungle and yeah we would be
living on the island forever this is true
Kathy Susan I'm trying to equate this to a band that maybe you guys would have been fans of
in the 80s?
Who did you?
Is that the
compare?
Would that be the equation?
70s, 60s.
No, the 80s.
It would definitely be the 80s.
REM.
So did you, who did you?
Was there a band that you guys followed
the way that we follow Jonas?
I was raising kids in the 80s.
Led Zeppelin was not the 80s.
In my 20s, I was raising kids.
Did you?
Wait, what about Donnie?
Donnie and the system?
he was that like a vibe oh my god my mom was obsessed with donnie osmond is that is that like donny osmond that's my mom
i was gonna say i feel like that's like that and they he's got like the curly hair yeah like cassidy
he kind of like has a similar vibe right i mean no how about the beetles yeah that's my mom but they're
like my mom's six my mom's 67 so yeah she's right in the same boat with you guys so no i mean
wasn't the beetles how about frank frank sanatra you guys are too young for the
that was your hot shot
Tom Jones
Creedence Clearwater
yeah okay
Chicago
Love Chicago
Oh my gosh
My mom loves Neil Young
Neil Young
My mom loves Neil Diamond
Like the
The world
No
My mom like that might be her
Paul pass
She like loves the
With the jazz singers
Like her favorite movie
I know
We're like
She's obsessed with having us
watch it, and we're like, Mom, it's just not that great.
But anyway, she loves it.

artists and activists. I mean, do you ever feel demoralized?
I might personally lose hope. This individual might lose the faith, but there's an institution
that doesn't lose faith. And that's what I believe in. To bring you depth and analysis from a
unique Latino perspective. There's not a single day that Paola and I don't call or text each other
sharing news and thoughts about what's happening in the country. This new podcast will be a way
to make that ongoing intergenerational conversation public.

In early 1988, federal agents raced to track down the gang
they suspect of importing millions of dollars worth of heroin
into New York from Asia.
We had 30 agents ready to go with shotguns and rifles and you name it.
But what they find is not what they expected.
Basically, your stay-at-home moms were picking up these large amounts of heroin.
They go, is this your daughter? I said yes.
They go, oh, you may not see her for like 25 years.
Caught between a federal investigation and the violent gang who recruited them,

Because that's like a different layer.

I just think the process and the journey is so delicious.
That's where all the good stuff is.
You just can't live and die by the end result.
It's scary putting yourself out there, especially when it's something you really care about
and something that you hope is your passion in life

Let's get delicious and put ourselves out there.

All right, so if you guys don't have a band that you would ever equate to your Jonas, I don't know how to relate to you.
Your heartthrob. Who's the heartthrob? I said Chicago.
Okay, Chicago.
Do you would have said that it's your heartthrob?
Like, who was your heartthrob?
Like, who was your hall pass?
What came to mind with Alan Alda?
For a match.
Yeah, that's...
Pondon John.
Wait, can I look at my turn?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a...
Look on your phone.
You mean, like, the reggae guy?
Yeah, huh, everybody.
You mean, like, you mean the reggae guy?
Bob Marley?
Bob Marley?
Yeah, Bob Marley.
Oh.
Hey, yeah.
Okay.
Very fun.
So I just have like, I think it's like kind of a millennial joke.
And I don't know, especially Marr, I mean, like you, Daisy, who would have been your, like, who did you fan girl over?
Justin Bieber.
Okay.
So you kind of go one to be the way.
Yeah.
But Jonas Brothers, so my older sister was obsessed with that.
Yeah.
Because you just kind of miss.
You're just a little too young for Jonas.
For a little bit.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then, Deanna.
I was just thinking I've never felt so old, I guess.
Mine would be new kids on the podcast.
well me too i branch all generations i'm i'm here for it all but so who is your new kid oh
oh i'd have to remember their names oh god donnie joey jonathan jonathan jordan and um and
oh my god danny would denny would raise raise your hand if you like bing crosbie
I think this is my favorite.
Interesting, interesting choice.
I mean, Jonathan's so sweet, the safe gate.
You do choose the K one.
Kevin's too safe.
Kevin, because Kevin Jonas is too safe for you.
Well, Kevin's the sweet one.
MC Hammer, it wasn't that 80s.
That was 80s, 90s.
That's right.
All right.
So where I was going with this conversation was like when you went to a
when you went to a Justin Bieber concert.
Yes.
Did you, like, how did you prepare yourself for the day,
your body, your look, like anything, because I have a joke, at least with my friends and the
internet, that, like, I would pretty much shave my body head to toe to make sure that I was
prepared for a Jonas concert.
Yeah, then Mario would do the exact just in case.
Yeah. Just in case the purity rings needed to come up, like, you know, they're going to
come off that day.
Okay. Mari and I had the same ritual. Don't worry up. I'm not shaving my whole body today
for them.
me um over justin beeper yeah well i was in fifth grade when i was
like you make sure you put on your training bra right no literally i had a sparkly
hat a little like tube top oh cute she's kind of risky in fifth grade that was a thing for him
yeah it was his like his purple concert yeah didn't he pull someone up like at every concert
Simon and Garfunkel.
I was in the seventh row and it was only 50 bucks.
Wow.
Times have changed.
Did you imagine those days?
Right?
Wow, that's awesome.
Concerts were $35.
Yeah, that's crazy.
The Almond brothers, like all that.
$35 now that's $235 for band seats.
Yeah.
1000%.
Okay.
Well, before we wrap this up as we're going to a concert tonight,
what was your favorite concert of all of your life, Susan?
Okay, or we can come back to you.
My first, like, fun concert that I remember is when Tim McGrath and Faith Hill
toured together.
Yeah.
And I just, like, love them.
I love them.
And they're still just as great today, but I will always remember that.
Like, we rented it.
We're from the south, so we do southern things.
We got a charter bus, and there's a bunch of rednecks on one bus.
And we, like, went, and Kenny Chesney came.
I was, like, living my best life.
I was, like, all of my dreams come true.
So his dad, tug was a good friend.
of my husband's and mine and they sent a limo for us and my daughter was in heaven and we were
backstage with them and met them talk about that was her dream love it that's awesome billy joel
oh billy joel that's a great answer i loved him yeah what year did you see billy joel i've actually
seen him a couple times yeah last time was probably 10 years ago it's kind of a bucket list thing got
to go see billy yeah daisy um oh thanks
Probably Khalid.
That one was really cool.
Okay.
Yeah.
It was very random.
Like, I bought my roommate in college really wanted to go,
and I found these tickets online for, like, a hundred bucks each.
And then we showed up, and it was like, we went, like, backstage.
They, like, brought us backstage.
It was for, like, a portable charger company or whatever.
And then they brought us, like, literally from row.
That's awesome.
And I was, like, well.
That's because they wanted you to be seen.
They were, like, yeah.
They were like, let's bring this pretty girl up here.
We'll take some video, make him look real cool.
And we were like under 21, and they were like giving us drinks.
He was like, this is awesome.
There's a good one.
Yeah.
That's fun.
Mine is going to be Jonas Brothers Happiness Begins Tour.
That is probably.
That was the first time I was able to see them.
And I flew to Salt Lake City for it because it was one of the only spots left that still had meet and greets left.
So I actually got to meet them for the first.
time also. That's fantastic. Fantastic. Susie. Good one. I was like really trying to think because I've
been to a lot of great concerts, but I will say I think it was like when I was in a freshman, I think,
in high school, maybe a little older. And we went to the Jonas Brothers and we were front row.
And somehow we were literally right in front of like where Kevin would kind of like stand where
the stage would extend a little bit. And there was nobody on either side of us in the entire front row.
and then the closest people were behind us
and like I remember taking a selfie
and he literally posed in the background
like he was so like nice
I mean nice but I was just like
it was the closest I had ever been to them
and I was like this is so crazy
and it was like I look back
I'm like that really was like so much fun
it like sparked the
probably like you know fandom and I was like
we're this close it was yeah
and I'll see this picture okay I'll send it around
I'll find it and send it around
oh my turn
okay well I it's really really too hard to pick one but I'm going to pick three okay um right now
these are the ones at the top of my head definitely back she boys at the sphere like that was like beyond
that was like just like an experience like I've never smiled like it was the dopamine
going through my brain was absolutely like I've never like I've never experienced like that
that was unbelievable then um when Jonas happiness begins that first week that they
announced their reunion. Amy gave me tickets to a private show that they did in LA. It was secret.
They didn't tell anybody where it was. And it was like a 200 person show. They took our phones at
the front and we had to like zip it up. So everybody was so in the moment. And it was their first time
like performing on a stage publicly for years. And I'll never forget how that felt. And then I would
also say last year when Justin Timberlake talked to me from the stage and we actually had a true
conversation from the stage yeah all right guys well this has been such a fun podcast and it's going to
be even more of a fun night is there anything anybody has to add tonight baby i hope you all
wait to see susan's reaction to joe and his pants susan's going to be saying now what are their names
again wait who is that wait what are they singing all right well
I know the song.
Fun, fun times.
I've been Ashley,
and I won't go down the whole row
unless you guys want to.
Susan.
Kathy.
Daisy.
Mari.
Susie.
Bye.
Bye.
