Starting point is 00:01:34 Hey, everybody. It's Chuck and Josh from the Stuff You Should Know podcast, and it's that time of year again when we knuckle down to do our annual holiday episodes. We collected our best past classic holiday episodes and compiled them into a 12 days of Christmas toys playlist that the whole family can enjoy. That's right. Maybe you missed it the first time
Starting point is 00:01:51 we detailed the history of Beanie Babies, Monopoly, or Yo-Yo's, and a whole lot more. So listen to the... 12 days of Christmas toys playlist on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Have you ever listened to those true crime shows and found yourself with more questions than answers? Who catfishes a city?
Starting point is 00:02:10 Is it even safe to snort human remains? Is that the plot of Footloos? I'm comedian Rory Scoville, and I'm here to tell you, Josh Dean and I have a new podcast that celebrates the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals. It's called Crimeless, a true crime comedy podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio. Hey guys, welcome to The Almost Famous Podcast. I am so excited because I have a Bachelor Nice and Success Story with us and one that was recently married. Katie, Zach, welcome to the podcast. Hi, thanks for having us. Thank you for having us, Ashley.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Of course I'm not wearing my ring of all days. No way. So you're a girl that takes off your ring. I do never take it off. So you take it off to sleep and shower and stuff? Yes. Yeah. Why? I just, I can't sleep with it. It gets caught on my pillow because it's so big. Shout out to Neil Lane. Shout out to Neil Lane. Yeah. Well, actually, Zach re-proposed to me and he got me a new ring. So we still have the Neil Lane ring. But now I have two beautiful engagement rings. Lucky girl. I am. What can I say? That is quite nice. So Zach, do you take off your ring?
Starting point is 00:03:33 I do. My ring's a little loose. But I've got like one of those like, what do you call it? Rubber rings to work out. Yeah. And I don't want it. It feels like tight when you sleep. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:45 But I have heard of people that are like very much so. Like you either 100% wear it and they never take it off. And then the other side are like loosey-goosey, whatever. Yeah. Exactly. Jared and I are very much, we keep it on at all times. He kind of wants the rubber one for the gym. And I'm like, babe, you will lose your ring.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I know you will. But it'll get scuffed up so much more. Like if he's lifting heavy weights. I know. And I know Jared's lifting heavy. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I think the scuff is kind of sexy, you know, on the ring. It's like, I wear this ring so much that like it's just, and we've been married for so long it has dense. It's endured everything. Yeah. That's cute, though. I'm so glad that you guys had your big wedding celebration over the – it's been not even a month yet, right?
Starting point is 00:04:34 Like three weeks. Three weeks ago it was. Yeah. Yeah. And it was perfect. Yeah. Truly bad. So tell me about the decision to do the small, intimate wedding about six-ish months ago
Starting point is 00:04:45 and then to do the party wedding and have them separate like this. I think – so I'm just going to give you some background. So Zach and I were originally, we were going to get married in a courthouse, and we just wanted it to be us. We wanted it intimate. We didn't need the big lavish wedding. I think some girls, I always say this. I feel like some girls, like, they dream of the big wedding, their dress, all that. But like, for me, I feel like buying a house, building a home, decorating it, that's like my Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Yeah. So I wasn't, I didn't really see a big wedding in the future for me. But anyways, it was still, like, so beautiful. We just wanted to focus on our love. We had, well, when ABC got involved, we're like, okay, maybe we should step up our game a little bit. So we ended up finding a chapel in Austin, and it was so beautiful. Like, it all worked out the way that it needed to be. It was stunning.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Yeah, we knew eventually that we wanted to celebrate with everybody. But, like, I just got done planning the wedding ceremony. And then I was like, oh, my God. Like, I can't even, like, think of planning another thing right now. So I just needed some time to just, like, decompress it and then plan it. But I think it worked out. It was kind of like a two-part deconstructed wedding. And it was beautiful.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It was everything that we wanted. Yeah. Yeah. It was like blending the worlds together, Canada, California, Bachelor, my Austin friends. It just, it was the perfect timing. We needed it because we had, like, our wedding. And then we got to celebrate with everybody and just party our faces out. It was so cool.
Starting point is 00:06:21 it's also kind of nice because you have your wedding and then you're not done yet you still have more wedding to look forward to it's not just done in one day because that's the worst part about the wedding is when you wake up that morning you're like at the end of this day all that money and all of this like the the the beat the fact that like your friends and your family are all together in one room and you're never going to have that again yeah you guys you didn't have that twice but you did have something very family oriented and yeah full of love still to look forward to exactly yeah it was perfect that's awesome okay so of all the bachelor nation members there and and there were a number of them who was the biggest party animal that's a good question um just party animal honestly i think everybody was just having the time of their lives i don't know if there was like one person that just got, like, extra silly. I'll say one person that, like, everyone loved talking to and, like, meeting and stuff was Dotten.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Oh, yeah. Everyone loved hanging with Dotton, talking with Dotten. Because he's such, like, he's the kindest guy ever. So, but he's very intentional. He's, like, full of wisdom. Every time you talk to me, you're like, oh, my, I'm learning something when I talk to you. He doesn't even have to open his mouth to feel like, I saw him on Bachelor. And before he even spoke, I was like, that man is so wise.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Yeah. He's just got so much depth to him. It's not just like a surface level conversation. Like, he's just so sweet. And like you said, intentional with everything. Everything. I mean, my aunts and my parents were like, you know that, Don, guys. Probably one of the coolest guys I've met.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I'm like, yeah, same. So sweet. Yeah. That is so sweet. That's a good answer. I'd rather hear who's the most magnetic than who's the biggest party animal. But if you do think about who was wild, just let me know. because normally Ben, who's sadly not here today,
Starting point is 00:08:20 he is the biggest party animal at all of our bachelor weddings. I've seen him. Because he has the higgy dance, you know. Nobody will forget it once they see it. I got to look this up. Oh, he looks like the thing outside of car dealerships. Oh, stop. The balloon. That's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:08:37 The dancing airman. Oh, my God. Yeah. That's so funny. Speaking of Charity and Doughton, what Bachelor Nation couple do you think will be the next to get married? Charity and done. You think that'll be next?
Starting point is 00:08:49 I agree. A thousand percent. I think so. You think like next year? Yeah. 2026? Yeah. And I think Joey and Kelsey will be after them 2027.
Starting point is 00:08:58 I could see that. You guys, we're on a roll. Yeah, we brought marriage back. That's right. We brought marriage back. We brought marriage back. That's so funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Three in a row, too, is like crazy. So it's not even like, okay, we've brought marriage back. But like, three in a row is. crazy. Yes. So I don't foresee any breakups in that crew. And then we have Alex and Andrew and then Jess and Spencer of the two of them, which one gets married first? Alex and Andrew and Spence. Spence and Jess.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Yeah, Spence and Jess. We met them. They came down to Austin for ACL and they have so much chemistry. Oh yeah. Like they are two peas in a pod. That was the first time I've ever met both of them And immediately, I was like, these guys absolutely in love with these. You also really like Spence. I feel like Zach doesn't, like, it takes a little bit for you to, like, warm up to, like, new people.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Spence, you were just like, this guy is such a good guy. Great guy. You really, and Jess is amazing, too. So sweet, grounded, down on earth. She's funny. There's a little, like, southern accent comes out here and there. Yeah. No, they're great.
Starting point is 00:10:09 And I've met Andrew separately. And I haven't. He's funny, guy. He's so funny. I feel like. Tim, Justin, and Greg are just like, just like a funny group of guys. The TikTok trio. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:21 That trio is great. Yeah. They bring some good content. They've really made successes of themselves as a friend group. It's pretty awesome. Yeah. So you guys, do you find that anything has changed since you got married? I never personally found that it felt much different.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I feel like when you get that question a lot, it's like, oh, like, like, like. Does it feel any different? Being married? It's like, no, we just have rings on our hand and we continue to grow and foster a relationship and more and more in love with each other every day. And I know that's super cliche to say, but it's true. Like we're... I was going to say, the thing that changes is like, okay, we've finally got married.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It's what we've been waiting for. Now it's like, okay, what's next? Buying a house. Okay, what's next? Family. Like, that's the stuff that's like, okay, now things are moving along. But between us, no, it doesn't feel like a different light turned off or something. But I will say, when you see your husband, I don't know if you felt this, Ashley,
Starting point is 00:11:18 but when you see your husband for the first time with a wedding ring on, I'm like, oh, it's the hottest thing ever. It's the hottest thing ever. I did it. I did it. That's mine. I don't know. It's just so hot.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Like a man that's committed to a woman. That's hot. Yes. Even when I see guy friends go from, you know, dating my friend to being married to my friend and having the ring on it, I was like, wow, you just like elevated. yourself. I had no idea. Yeah, I find it the most attractive thing ever.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Absolutely. Kids were, I think that that is the point that you feel like your marriage has changed. I feel like that's truly, that is when it gets a little bit less like, hey, everything is so fun and light. Yeah. Huge responsibility, I imagine, right? Yeah. I know, but it's exciting.
Starting point is 00:12:10 We are so excited for that phase in our life. not to just like spill out a bunch of information but we're hoping to like start trying I would say like in yeah this summer yeah the summer every time I see a baby I text doc and I'm like all right that's it let's make a baby tonight baby
Starting point is 00:12:28 we start trying a year and a half after we were married I think it's good timing yeah I think just like really like just diving in and enjoying married life newlywoods we still haven't even gone on a honeymoon yet we're starting the green card process this month so I actually can't leave the country and we were planning to go to Italy for our honeymoon but things have changed and hopefully
Starting point is 00:12:51 that we will eventually do that but I think we're just going to take some like small trips throughout the U.S. and just kind of take a minute and just really enjoy this because everything's been like going so fast and it's just like we have not had a moment to just like celebrate our love which is crazy because he works full time and you know it's just been She's been busy, so. Yeah. And the house is being built and so all that. You guys, you are just like the perfect.
Starting point is 00:13:17 You are honestly a couple that you would see in the frames at home goods. I love that. Traditionally perfect. Just super generic. And on a path. And it's very sweet. You know, we love, I love it, I love it. Being a parent is basically a juggling act.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Hockey practice, homework, a last-minute science project, and someone's always, always shouting for you from another room. So yeah, I'll take any shortcuts that actually works, and that's why I'm all in on HelloFresh. Fresh ingredients, super easy recipes, and over 80 options every week so everyone eats. Dr. Jesse Mills here. I'm the director of the men's clinic at UCLA Health, and I want to tell you about my new podcast called The Mailroom. And I'm Jordan, the show's producer. And like a lot of guys, I haven't been to the doctor in many years.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I'll be asking the questions we probably should be asking, but aren't. Because guys usually don't go to the doctor unless a piece of their face is hanging off or they've broken a bone. Depends which bone. Well, that's true. Every week, we're breaking down the unique world of men's health, from testosterone and fitness to diets and fertility, and things that. that happened in the bedroom. You mean sleep?
Starting point is 00:15:43 Yeah, something like that, Jordan. We'll talk science without the jargon and get you real answers to the stuff you actually wonder about. It's going to be fun, whether you're 27, 97, or somewhere in between. Men's Health is about more than six packs and supplements. It's about energy, confidence, and connection. We don't just want you to live longer. We want you to live better.
Starting point is 00:16:04 So check out the mailroom on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your favorite shows. what up y'all it's your boy kev on stage i want to tell you about my new podcast called not my best moment where i talk to artists athletes entertainers creators friends people i admire who had massive success about their massive failures what did they mess up on what is their heartbreak and what did they learn from it i got judged horribly the judges were like you're trash i don't know how you got on the show boo somebody had tomatoes it's not i'm kidding but if they had tomatoes they would have thrown the tomatoes. Let's be honest. We've all had those moments we'd rather
Starting point is 00:16:44 forget. We bumped our head. We made a mistake. The deal fell through. We're embarrassed. We failed. But this podcast is about that and how we made it through. So when they sat me down, they were kind of like, we got into the small talk and they were just like, so what do you got? What? What? What ideas? And I was like, oh, no. What? Check out not my best moment with me, Kevin on stage on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcast, YouTube, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Hey, everybody, it's Chuck and Josh from the Stuff You Should Know podcast, and it's that time of year again when we knuckle down to do our annual holiday episodes.
Starting point is 00:17:18 We collected our best past classic holiday episodes and compiled them into a 12 days of Christmas toys playlist that the whole family can enjoy. That's right. Maybe you missed it the first time we detailed the history of Beanie Babies, Monopoly, or Yo-Yo's, and a whole lot more. So listen to the 12 Days of Christmas Toys playlist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. guests. Oh, what's up with the Austin Butler thing?
Starting point is 00:17:47 Because you guys are both with Austin Butler. Yeah. You're talking about him? And not just like a celebrity encounter. No, you know, I was trying to keep it quiet for a while. But Austin and I have, uh, we're kind of best friends. See, I'm not really even sure if he's joking. Like, you guys may have actually been friends.
Starting point is 00:18:06 No, no, no. So we, uh, we met him through. a like a premiere for his movie Caught Stealing the Darren I'm gonna butcher his last name Aronovsky Aronowski I think of it So we were
Starting point is 00:18:18 They were in some promotion in Austin And we just bet him We had an opportunity to do like a little cocktail Hang out with him thing And we're actually from the same City and we grew up probably A couple roads from each other So we knew all the same people, same places
Starting point is 00:18:35 And so we just kind of clicked And he interestingly enough was like really intrigued by The Bachelor. Yes, very intrigued by our story. We didn't even get to like ask him or anything like questions. He was just so locked into like, oh my God, you guys are from the show and it worked. And he goes, you guys, give me faith again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Like Austin Butler says. I was like, and I'm like, too to be friends. Maybe he said hope. You guys give me hope. Hope. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, baby boy, you are not going to have any troubles.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Yeah, he's going to be jealous out. He's like on dates with, you know, Emily Radikowski. and stuff. See, he's, he's doing good. He's fine. He's fine. But yeah, he's actually genuinely such a sweet guy. Like, you can tell, like, just like his aura is just like very sweet, grounded guy.
Starting point is 00:19:21 And obviously, just gorgeous. Yeah. I feel like Zach was crushed more than me. I mean, I wasn't sure who to ask about his attractive levels because I was like, is it wrong if I ask Katie? Is it funny if I, yeah. You can recognize beauty. Anyone can't.
Starting point is 00:19:34 That guy is a beautiful man. He is very good, like him. Yeah. Yeah. You're a better looking baby. Oh, okay, you don't have to lie. Did he have the Elvis voice? No.
Starting point is 00:19:45 A little bit. It's gone. No, I mean, I think it's just like a dark or a deep, sultry voice. Hey, I'm from Anaheim too, and that's how we talk. And I'm like, oh, my God, you're so cool. I love this so much. I feel like that. This is your first holiday season as a married couple.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Do you have any traditions? Do you have any plans you're excited about that you want to share? This Christmas is actually kind of chill. I actually have to work at the hospital on Christmas Day. So I'll be doing that. But we are going to come back to California and spend an early Christmas with his family in Anaheim. So that's going to be nice. We're going to just have like an early Christmas open up presents.
Starting point is 00:20:29 And yeah, I think we're actually going to bring our dog. It's going to be her first flight. So I'm super excited. This is the sweet part of marriage where, you just like your dog goes on planes with you and just you smother it with love and i just feel like my poor doggy like she just doesn't get what she used she used to live a totally different life she used to go coast to coast all the time yeah she was welcome everywhere and now it's like hey lois sorry i haven't touched you in like six hours love you bye oh lois stop that's your dog's
Starting point is 00:21:00 name, Lois? That's amazing. Lois Lane. I was going to say a family guy. Well, we live in Rhode Island. Family guy works too. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Jared has, he had a Clark before Lois, and Clark still lives with his parents. He's, like, right under my feet right now. Oh, nice. Yeah, we're just doing mellow Christmas and, uh, mellow of years. Yeah. Any tips on flying with the puppy?
Starting point is 00:21:26 We've never done it. Every airline is different. You know, the whole seat and front of you you have to like you know fully put to the case under the scene for me how how big is the dog 15 pounds okay so this is my advice to you even though lowest has always been like around the 20 pound maximum they freak out if she's really fluffy because they're like she can't fit in there i'm like no i swear to you this is four inches of hair so if you a fresh trim maybe okay good to know okay okay yeah good to know
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah, and, you know, if you need to stick her head out or whatnot, during takeoff, you know, just put her under a blanket, bring blankets. I'm going to bring a blanket and I'm going to hide her under there. It's going to look like I have a little baby. She's her under there for so many fights. She is. She's my baby. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Yes, enjoy your time with baby, the doggy being baby. It's so sweet. Thank you all for joining us. Yeah, thank you for us tonight. Enjoy the little mini trip and Merry Christmas. Thank you, Merry Christmas. Follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcasts on IHartRadio
