This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Hey guys, welcome to the Almost a Miss podcast.
Today I'm joined by Ben Higgins in my dad's office.
He's in D.C. for work.
And I am here at doctor's appointment, you know, I'm here once a month.
and we're so excited because today Ben gets to like he gets to come over to my childhood home
hang out we're going to go to dinner after this but first we have to of course go over
headlines this is a really fun place to visit I've seen this this office on video many times
I've never been it is a beautiful spot out here yeah I'm here for project hope I haven't talked
about project hope a lot but if you don't know about project hope check it out it's one of the
leading health care and disaster relief organizations in the country right now.
And I've gotten to be on the board now for going on three and a half years.
And so I'm out here for board meetings, stopped over to have dinner with this incredible
family and also talk Bachelor headlines.
And here they are.
Gary Turner appears on the Kardashians.
Find out what happened when he met the famous family.
Okay, actually, before we start here, I saw some clips this week.
Yeah.
these are absolutely wild i'm talking about the clips of chris jenner talking about gary it um
i don't feel like it's a good look for him but break down this and then i'll tell you why i feel
that way okay that's very interesting so i i knew like that this was such um it's such cross
promotion for hulu because abc disney hulu they're all tied together and for the past couple
seasons of the Kardashians, they have been, they've been always dropping the Bachelor name.
They're always like, oh, this episode, are you going to be the Bachelorette or Rob Mills that or,
you know, blah, blah, blah.
Time out.
Is it?
Because Chris has always been a fan, as you know, because she was on your after show.
My question is, who needs who more?
The Bachelor needs the Kardashians or the Kardashians need the Bachelor?
You know, I don't know Hulu ratings.
I wonder who does.
It's probably pretty mutually beneficial.
And it's probably a lot of the same crossover audience.
Well, anyway, I knew for the beginning of this season
that this is going to be this silly kind of bit
where Gary comes,
this is, I'm truly, truly jealous about this.
Gary went over to Chris's house
or was Kendall's house or one of their houses
to have a watch party with them.
Like, Gary, that is big.
For him?
I think so.
Yeah, huge.
Did you imagine?
Like, you don't even care about the Kardashians, but you like going over to one of their houses.
I hosted a show with Chris.
You hosted a show with her.
An after show on my scene with Chris.
Yeah.
But that's like her coming to the studio is different than you walking into a Kardashian home.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
Okay.
Well, so.
So what happens?
Yeah.
Okay.
So the big teaser on this season of the Kardashians, I actually haven't watched this past
episode.
I've watched one and two is that he comes over for the watch party and Kendall sees on
her, his phone, Teresa's name or a picture of her come up. I think it was her name and his
contacts. And she even says, she's like, what, I saw it. I'm not supposed to see this. And so
Chris and Kendall, he admitted to them, but they had to keep it secret for, of course, the entirety.
Okay. So do you love the Kardashians as much as you used to? That's such an interesting question
because my sister, my best friend and I were talking about that exact question two days ago.
I do, but they are feeling like they're over them.
Here's my point to when I started this whole conversation with Gary, about Gary was there's a clip where Chris Jenner is talking about how Gary was eyeing her.
Like there's a clip that was shown where she says, Gary, stop looking at me that way.
I'm married, Gary.
But she's not married, but she has been with him.
For 10 years.
Yeah, she's been a long time.
So I don't think it's a good look for Gary because that's kind of been the thing.
Oh my gosh.
I really wish I had watched this episode before chatting about this.
Yeah.
Anyways.
So there's a lot to this.
There's the fact that she saw Teresa.
There's the flurtyness.
And then there's this.
So Chris and Kendall asked him hard questions.
They go, okay, Gary, what happened in the fantasy suites?
And he got very candid saying that I'm happy with the overreter.
Because if you spend five weeks getting to know women, yet everything you say and do is recorded, you're dying to get that overnight where you can ask them questions without an audience.
And then Chris and Kendall also asked Gary to share what he learned about himself while filming the show.
And he said, I get emotional so easily.
Every row ceremony was difficult, awful.
I was lost.
So, yeah.
And then they were like, you're just so smart.
You're such an emotionally intelligent guy.
And he's like, I'm not that smart.
I'm just old.
And then they had dinner.
It was like crazy.
Well, okay, before we move on in the next story,
I was always told there was something that happened in the fantasy suites that changed
Gary's mind.
That was always kind of the behind the scene story that was being told to me.
I don't know what that was.
And they never really showed it.
But something happened in the fantasy suites for Gary that changed his mind.
And Ben is not.
I'm not going to start rumors now.
I'll start all the rumors.
I never got better press.
Are you kidding me?
The listens on this podcast went way up.
I'll start any rumor needed.
But referring to that rumor that he heard that Gary and Teresa's problems started when she landed in Indiana.
You didn't even know the name of my home state.
I was just like Indiana, Iowa, Ohio.
No, I'll just, when I start a rumor, I'll just preface it with this is a rumor.
And then I'll tell it.
All right.
Anyways, this is not a rumor.
Caitlin Bristow and Zach Clark recently spotted at wedding together.
This according to us weekly.
So there's that.
Are they still?
Okay.
Well, actually, okay, so I'm obviously not going to like text Caitlin and be like,
well, I could.
Just be like, so like, how's it going with that rumored guy that you've been seeing?
Yeah, but then you couldn't share it here.
I would never share it here, right?
But now we have a little confirmation that we could talk about publicly that we can share here.
They've been spotted at a wedding.
It was not this past weekend, last weekend.
And they haven't really been seen out and about since, like, there is the New Year's Eve party.
And there was them also over the winter at a New York City restaurant that some girls,
they like snap photos of and put it on TikTok.
but that's that's all we really have here um here's my here's my take on this to then transition in
at this point we have to assume that zat clark and kately bristow are hanging out like i don't know
this personally i've not been confirmed this personally i will say that i don't know this
personally she's never told me that but they have yet to hard launch soft i mean soft launch each other
well didn't kately say in our podcast she was like i'm never going to launch anyone unless like i know
about to get married to them like tomorrow.
Yeah, fair enough. Good quote.
But we can assume here and say here, I will put my name behind it and Caitlin Bristow can text
me again.
Caitlin Bristow and Zach Clark are having some type of either relationship or friendship or
situation ship.
They've been together too many times in the last few months for them not to be considered
something.
Oh, of course.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?
To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
My name is Ed.
Everyone say hello, Ed.
from a very rural background myself
my dad is a farmer
and my mom is a cousin
so like it's not like
what do you get when a true crime producer
walks into a comedy club
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke
but that really was my reality nine years ago
I just normally do straight stand-up
but this is a bit different
on stage stood a comedian
with a story that no one expected to hear
22nd of July 2015
a 23 year old man
had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer
walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack,
where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app,

What would you do?
if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal
boot camp designed to be hell on earth. Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice
he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration,
also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic
military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison line.
emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.

Hello, puzzlers.
Let's start with a quick puzzle.
The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
Jeopardy-truthers who say that you were given all the answers believe in,
I guess they would be
Kenspiracy theorists.
That's right.
Are there Jeopardy Truthers?
Are there people who say that it was rigged?
Yeah, ever since I was first on, people are like.
They gave you the answers, right?
And then there's the other ones which are like.
They gave you the answers, and you still blew it.
Don't miss Jeopardy legend Ken Jennings
on our special game show week of the Puzzler podcast.

Lace Morris opens up about co-parenting.
Her quote is, it's not fun and reveals if she's ready to date again.
Now, Ashley, we interviewed Lace.
If you haven't listened to that episode, I do think it's important to listen to
because I do think we get some nuggets in that interview with her that lead to this conversation today.
Oh, yeah, totally.
So she did a Q&A on Instagram, which is basically a short form of the interview we did with her.
But she just confirms that it hasn't been great, you know, not having a child with somebody that she's no longer with.
She said that she's doing very well physically and mentally now.
although, of course, as a new mom, some days are rough.
She said that she is not thinking about dating because Liam, her son, wouldn't want her to.
And she also...
Because he knows.
Yeah.
But, yeah, she just, she's just like ready to move on, I think, from the fact that, like, obviously she's got more of a clean cut from the dad.
However, the dad is in his life.
it's not like he has abandoned the family.
He's in the baby's life minimally,
like you might see him like once a week.
She's obviously the primary, primary caregiver.
Feels important at this point.
Feels like something that's obvious.
Bachelor Nation's Rachel Lindsay regrets not getting pre-up agreement
before marrying season 13 winner, Brian ab solo.
Amid messy divorce.
Now, Ashley, again, I'll have a little nugget here.
Okay.
I follow them both.
Brian silent for years.
Yeah.
He is all over Instagram now.
Oh, really?
His post amount has gone way up.
I think I follow him.
Well, now I got a check.
That's, are you?
He is out there doing his thing.
Let me see this.
Brian.
I think he has.
Oh, I don't follow him.
That's why.
He has Dr. Abbs.
He got his.
Yeah, Dr. Abbs teamed on there, you know, trademark that, that name.
Okay, okay.
So interesting.
All right.
So Natasha Parker has a new podcast and she had Rachel on.
And when talking about the ongoing divorce, which she was pretty open about,
Rachel says that a lot of people are like, you're a lawyer.
Do you have a pre-up?
And she's like, I don't.
And then she goes on to explain the thought.
process for her inaction and says that the reason that she didn't that she didn't is because
the place I'm in now financially is totally different than when we got married. We were more
leveled then. We weren't in California. That's actually a really good point. She didn't really,
she didn't really know the career opportunities that were like going to come at her very soon
after the wedding. Well, I mean, I think one of the big things too is, I mean, that's probably when,
why you get a pre-up, but with my, with my wife and I, we would never have gotten a pre-nup.
It would have been a really hard conversation, I think.
I think there's avenues to do it that makes sense.
But for Jess and I, like, we started this thing out and we're like, divorce is never an option.
But I know that in some relationships, like, even when it's not an option, it comes about.
So as she said, she goes, I didn't want it to be a bigger issue.
So we didn't have one because she was like, at the time, it wasn't an issue.
so she didn't want to, like, project an issue.
But then again, says hindsight is 2020.
In the case that I knew it was going to come, of course, we would have done it.
I just don't think we can shame her for not getting a pre-up.
Because, like, how would you have that conversation?
Like, I don't think we can be like, oh, you should have gotten one.
How do you not have one?
It's like, no.
Like, that, you never expect this to be the case.
And how in the world do you ever bring it up?
And then why do you even think about it?
If you're like, I, and this could be, and I would love to get so much hate for this.
But if you're entering into a marriage and one of the first thoughts in your mind is, unless you're like a billionaire.
I know, unless you're like a Justin Bieber.
Exactly.
Those cases like 100%.
I get it.
I get you, you have to protect yourself.
Yeah.
But if you're like, we need to get a pre-up, I feel like you are projecting.
I totally agree.
I don't know how you do.
You're already like entering it in.
Like, it's not an equal partnership.
If somebody could hate on me a little bit and tell me how they do it and why they do it outside of a family trust or a large sum of money, please let me know.
Because I've always been confused on how in the world you'd go about this thought process.
And like, I don't have to worry about it.
I still sit here today.
I'm like, that's not a thing that's going to go on in my life.
However, I do know for some people it is an unexpected change of course and a pre-nup would have been really nice.
I know.
You know, you talk to divorce lawyers.
they will always be like, no, no, it's the most wonderful thing.
But it's just, it's very...
You've talked to a lot of divorce lawyers?
No, I'm thinking about this one time that I had, I had this.
I didn't even know the woman that was on the podcast with us.
It was the, I don't get a podcast.
And did, was the, the topic may have just been pre-ups.
And our producer was like, yeah, I'll get you a really great, like, female lawyer for this.
Lo and behold, didn't know.
It was Kim Kardashian's, like, lawyer, and she used her for her divorce with Kanye.
Like, she's that big of a deal.
And she's, like, literally could put pre-nup on, like, her license plate.
She loves them so much.
Oh, goodness.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, that's enough of that.
Hey, but Natasha Parker, shout out to her starting a new podcast.
Great friend of this show and really cool part of Bachelor Nation.
I got to hang out with her at the Nick and Natalie wedding.
and it was.
Yeah, she's so great.
And we really have to check in on her eye.
Yeah, that's a good point.
She got shot in the eye with an air blower.
Well, she must be fine.
Yeah, she's obviously fine.
All right.
Big headline here.
This is a big headline.
And now, man, we have to get this person on the podcast.
Rachel Nance and John Henry Spurlock spark dating rumors.
And Bachelor Nation reacts in a loud way.
this made me seeing these pictures it made me like oh this is why paradise needed to happen because now this is happening off camera so rachel as you know from joey season and john henry who was just on our podcast talking about his breakup with cat we were they were both spotted together and on what appears to be a date night looked like it was just the two of them rachel took to into tic-tock to share a video with john henry as they enjoyed
what they this what may have been a romantic dinner on the water in her home state of
Hawaii in the video rachel lip sinks over a voiceover you know like a tic-tock
voiceover and says how much do i owe you to which john responds it's okay it's on the house
and rachel ends with really and she captioned the video my wallet was not harmed in the
making of this video so they're definitely alluding to it being a date because he like picked up
a tab soon the video so creative these days soon the i know right soon the video went viral raking in
millions and millions of views fans really excited daisy's commenting yo with hearts so is this a hard
fans are like is this a hard launch we are so here for this we don't know but we do know something
we do know that i do think that we can say now yeah he was going to go and work in hawai i think
it's been in I think oh okay he announced it yeah he announced yeah he's working in hawaii and so
this makes sense she lives there he's well she lived in maine remember but her family's from hawaii like
that's her home base you know she's like a nurse that she's you try i don't think she's a traveling
nurse but she had moved her work and she was living in maine which i was like rachel that seems
random you should move back to hawaii that's you cannot get farther from each i know within the continent of
So I'm thinking, you know, she was home or whatever and maybe, you know,
Hawaii is like got so many islands.
Like I think that they probably had to take some effort to see each other.
I'm going to say it here, John Henry and Rachel Nance, you're on watch.
We're looking for a good solid, hard launch.
That's not so freaking mysterious.
But I'll say here, I'm on team Rachel and John Henry.
Oh, yeah.
I like the two of them.
You can see it.
Yeah.
But now we need to get Rachel on the podcast.
It's about time.
I don't think she's really done too much of a circuit, a press tour.
Okay.
Almost famous producers.
Get Rachel on the show.
Hey, that's all the headlines we have for you today.
We're excited about what's coming up within Bachelor Nation.
Obviously, we have a really exciting season with Jen season coming out.
We're seeing more and more kind of teasers to it.
If you haven't listened to our episode kind of breaking down the men in the most, like,
respectful, caring,
considerate, knowledgeable ways.
You should go back and listen to that.
It's really worth it.
You should listen to that.
And then obviously,
we'll have more Almost Famous Podcasts
coming out with almost good advice,
the headlines,
and then some more interviews.
Hopefully, Rachel, coming out soon.
So until next time, I've been Ben.
I've been Ashley.
See ya.
