If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your... free iHeartRadio app search emergency internetcom and listen now I just normally do straight stand-up but this is a bit different what do you get when a true crime producer
Starting point is 00:00:39 walks into a comedy club answer a new podcast called Wisecrack where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story does anyone know what show they've come to see it's a story it's about the scariest night of my life
Starting point is 00:00:54 this is Wisecrack available now listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. On the new podcast, America's Crime Lab, every case has a story to tell, and the DNA holds the truth. He never thought he was going to get caught, and I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, gotcha. This technology's already solving so many cases. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHeart Radio. Hey, everyone, it's the Almost Famous Podcast. Ben and I are doing a billion episodes this week.
Starting point is 00:02:18 We're going to be together for most of them, but we wanted to get together now via Zoom to record our recap for Bachelor in Paradise. Like, guys, I think we're doing nine episodes this week. Well, we're recording nine. No, we're doing 18. You're doing nine. I'm doing that. We're going to be breaking up for this. I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What? So, guys, we are going to have a big I-heart weekend in L.A. It's three days. And I was told that we were doing six episodes live from the Bachelor Mansion, which you guys are going to have to pull me away from having Dawson do all these little reels and skits of him pretending to be the best. baby bachelor in the front of the mansion because like my time needs to really be dedicated to
Starting point is 00:03:01 those moments please tell me you're dressing him up yeah he's gonna wear a tie there a little i don't have like a full suit but i have like a little vest and dress pants and stuff how what would i have to do to convince you to go get him a suit like a real suit yeah like a baby suit if i have time i'll absolutely do it but i don't have i just feel like it would be a game changer like it's a it's a showstopper Like he's going to be cute no matter what, but like put him in a suit, the world frees out. You're right. It is definitely different than him just wearing a vest. Okay. This might be the only time in his life, Ashley, that he gets to go to the Bachelor Mansion. I know. Okay. Okay, fine. I'm going to figure out a way to get him in a suit.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I want to explain what is going on. So this week, Ashley and myself are going to Los Angeles. It will, in my opinion, probably be not only the most content, but maybe one of the biggest weeks for the Almost Famous podcast ever. We're going to be at the Bachelor Mansion. We're going to be interviewing some incredible people past, you know, contestants, current contestants that are on the Golden Bachelor. And then also some celebrities will be there. We're going to be pumping through all these interviews. We're very excited for this. This is a huge week for Almost Famous, which means, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:20 for all of the listeners out there, it's going to be a really big couple weeks for some really fun interviews with some people that we've all wanted to get to know better, haven't heard from maybe in a while. I'm ecstatic about this, and we get to do it from The Bachelor Manxen to just, again, look for the content.
Starting point is 00:04:38 I feel like Ashley, since we're renting it out, like you and I are, I feel like we have total access now just to explore and, like, give a tour of this place that maybe people haven't got to see before. Oh, yeah. Like Instagram. Yeah, on Instagram for sure. We'll show everybody the ins and outs because people, you know, they're surprised. They hear that we share like three bathrooms and three bedrooms and all that. We're going to show them just how big it is. And I'm even going to probably have Dawson. He's going to go to sleep in one of the bedrooms because like the time change is just going to be really rough. But he must go to the Bachelor Mansion. And I am not letting him stay at the hotel. I love it. It's going to be so much. fun so again if you're listening stay tuned we're doing this not only because it's a great
Starting point is 00:05:25 really fun thing for the two of us to do i haven't been back to the mansion myself uh since i was the bachelor uh all of the talks that i've done with people have been uh i believe not at the mansion and so i haven't been back to the mansion okay ben this is a big deal for you because i have been back two to three times so the owner of the the bachelor mansion which guys normal family we've mentioned it before they live in the mansion when they're not filming there so probably they lived there probably about nine months out of the year he and i are friendly and he has let my friends and i come over for like just like a pool hang and tour and then like had my mom come over for a little tour once And then I went over from Becca Tilly, who had a party there.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Okay, well, anyway, we'll talk about all of this when we're actually there. Right now, we do want to dive into this week's Bachelor in Paradise recap. It was a short episode, but it was a constructive episode. But I want to know why it was so short. It was short. Do you know the reasoning? Was there something I've missed? My guess, I think it was shortened because the finale of Golden Bachelor is probably a little longer than it's normal.
Starting point is 00:06:40 That makes sense. I didn't put two and two together. That makes a ton of sense. So the episode was shorter. Not necessarily, I don't think it needs to be longer. I'm kind of glad it wasn't. It kind of got to the-
Starting point is 00:06:52 It was perfect. Yeah, like what I'm saying, it's like, it started at the Rose Ceremony Cocktail Party, and that's where it ended. And I just kind of like it when, you know, the clean. And we got a lot of accomplished in this episode, like Blake and Jess breaking up. and then Mercedes and Tyler also ending things.
Starting point is 00:07:15 There's also that ongoing theme, Ben, where it was like, wait a second, you missed a huge part here. The editing is a problem right now. There's so many huge things missing. Can you read my mind? I was going to say, can you give me any, okay, I'll just let you know what I think was a huge missing piece.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Rachel was like obsessed with the idea of Tanner last week or two weeks ago. And then this episode, she's like, no, Jordan's definitely getting my rose. And I'm like, wait a second. Pretty sure we left off with you saying that Tanner was the one that you were going to take seriously because he basically swooned her by saying how much he wants a relationship and how like he gave her the rose the week before. because he really wanted to actually pursue something. It wasn't a friendship rose.
Starting point is 00:08:09 So he clarified that. And then all of a sudden in this episode, Tanner was like, yeah, like, I gave her the rose because I thought there was something there. But over the past day or so, I've realized there isn't something there. So that's when he goes and pursues Jess. I'm like, wait a second.
Starting point is 00:08:27 What happened? I need to see why you guys didn't have something in the past couple days. And then, ah! Rachel says, I'm going to give Jordan my rose, and then Jordan suddenly goes, um, you know, I just don't know if there's like me and Rachel really cute together. Everybody keeps saying we're cute together, and it's nice to reconnect, but I don't know if there's anything romantic there. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:08:52 what do you mean? There's something romantic there. You guys were all over each other during like the sexy tantric yoga date. You guys definitely had some steamy something, something between you. and now you're telling me that you don't feel the romance? I was weirded out. Yeah, you know, obviously here there's a few things that we need to be clear on.
Starting point is 00:09:15 One is we're very protective of Rachel. We like Rachel a lot. Rachel, you know, should be with some incredible human and she wants to be with some incredible human. So we are very protective of her. However, I agree with you on everything you said. I think for me watching this episode
Starting point is 00:09:33 and maybe watching the whole season would be I think I'd be right or at least in my beliefs be right in saying this the show I think ran into a big problem actually now that and I think we're seeing it I think they brought a lot of really cool people to the beach and I think the relationships were really weak and I think instead of focusing
Starting point is 00:09:55 on all the weak parts of these relationships they tried their hardest to show any relationship happening because I don't think there was a lot. I think we're seeing every romantic moment between every couple this season. And it's the only way for me that this lack of storytelling makes sense because it feels like maybe Rachel and Jordan weren't as strong
Starting point is 00:10:16 as we thought. And they only showed us the best of the best. Exactly. And so they didn't have enough to fill the really good moments, like the quiet moments, the silent moments, because I think they ran into, wait, there's no chemistry amongst anybody here. You know, we have like three couples,
Starting point is 00:10:32 that are working out and everybody else just seems to be jumping around and wanting to jump around because this was and it's been this way the whole season for us and i think it has been a frustration overall paradise is still fun for what it is it still has its you know you know funny moments it still has its cornyness but i think all season for us the storytelling has been a frustration because we don't understand why things are happening the way they're happening the jordan scenario is the perfect example for me and i think it's one that we should sit on for a second because rachel and jordan talked on a bed and they both were very they're cute they're cute oh i'm you know jordan says look at the way you're smiling like this makes me happy too and then somewhere in the course of this
Starting point is 00:11:18 evening and this is where either he is a jerk or he's a liar there's like really no only two ways here because at least how they showed it um i don't know if he is in real life i don't know the guy but at least how they showed it because all of a sudden he's saying these nice words to rachel and then in a group setting amongst many people he's all of a sudden kind of like bashing their relationship so either he's a jerk and he's just doing this without thinking like saying i'll tell rachel one thing and everybody else another or he's lying uh to rachel to her face and probably makes him a jerk also i guess but i think i don't think he probably isn't realize I think the editing makes it seem that way.
Starting point is 00:12:02 And as a result, it's really confusing. It's super confusing. She said to him, there's no one else I'd rather give my rose to. And then, like, he just goes ahead and pursues Mercedes. And I, it was weird because they also got us attached to that story. Very much so during their date. We wanted Rachel and Jordan to reconnect because, like, It was the, what happened if, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:34 like the one that got away from her season. And then that's how it ends. It ends with Rachel just going home because she didn't even have the opportunity to give Tyler the Rose. The other side of this that could be, is this season of Paradise tried to do too much within the time frame they had?
Starting point is 00:12:53 I mean, they tried to get too much going on. They tried to bring in too much drama. They had to have too many storylines to follow. I mean, if they just would have, slowed their role a little bit, they still would have had a couple couples hopping. They would have still had a few couples that are really strong, but at least we'd be able to understand what's making these couples work and what's not. I have no idea why Kylie and even work right now. I have no idea. I know they get along because they've been together for a couple
Starting point is 00:13:19 weeks, but I have no idea what's happening in their relationship because we don't see it. And Ben, you know how you normally say like, yeah, but we'll feel it later on in the last few episodes. Yeah. Next week is the last episode. I think it's a big mess. I do. I think we've gone.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Now, again, I'm not saying I won't watch Paradise again. I love Paradise for what it is. And it's the craziness and it's the dramas and it's the beach and it's, you know, funny experiences and all that. I love Paradise for that. And I'll watch it every season because of that. But this season has had a big miss when it comes to completely. storylines making sense so that the end next week like there's only maybe two couples
Starting point is 00:14:08 that I think should be you know spending the evening together and I expect them to there's no like fringe couples there's no couples that we really want to see work but they just can't get there because they can't communicate properly like we don't have any of that we don't even know who's dating each other right now everybody's dating somebody else at this point Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom.
Starting point is 00:14:41 If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Starting point is 00:15:31 The diva of the people. I'm just like text your ex. My theory is that if you need to figure out that the stove is hot, go and touch it. Go and figure it out for yourself. Okay. That's us. That's us. My name is Curley.
Starting point is 00:15:46 And I'm Maya. In each episode, we'll talk about love, friendship, heartbreaks, men, and of course, our favorite secrets. Listen to the Super Secret Bestie Club as a part of the Michael Thura podcast network available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hola, it's HoneyGerman, and my podcast, Grasas Come Again, is back.
Starting point is 00:16:09 This season, we're going even deeper into the world of music and entertainment with raw and honest conversations with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities. You didn't have to audition? No, I didn't audition. I haven't audition in, like, over 25 years. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:16:22 That's a real G-talk right there. Oh, yeah. We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians, content creators, and culture shifters sharing their real stories of failure and success. You were destined to be a start.
Starting point is 00:16:37 We talk all about what's viral and trending with a little bit of chisement, a lot of laughs, and those amazing vivas you've come to expect. And of course, we'll explore deeper topics
Starting point is 00:16:47 dealing with identity, struggles, and all the issues affecting our Latin community. You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching? I won't say whitewash
Starting point is 00:16:56 because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me. But the whole pretending and cold, you know, it takes a toll on you. Listen to the new season of Grasas Has Come Again as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it. They had no idea who it was. Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
Starting point is 00:17:22 These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change. Every case. That is a cold case that has DNA. Right now, in a backlog, will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen.
Starting point is 00:17:48 I was just like, ah, gotcha. On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors. And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes. on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. There's somebody getting married next week, too.
Starting point is 00:18:18 I don't think it's happening. It really could be Eliza and Aaron. I think it might be. Like, I feel like they were like, okay, let's just really. encourage somebody here to get married because we need some big splash commitment at the end i think eliza is way to uh cautious no i just yeah i i think she's too uh like experienced in this to do that i think she has too many years of not being manipulated and convinced of something that she probably shouldn't be doing not saying they shouldn't at some later point get married that's very
Starting point is 00:18:58 possible and would be awesome. However, I don't think she would get convinced to do it right away on a beach. I just don't see it happening. Now, so I don't believe there's a wedding happening. I think it's all fake. I think it's been played up and I think we'll never see it and whatever.
Starting point is 00:19:16 I'm fine. Honestly, if one of these couples right now got married on the beach, I'd be confused. You'd be like, this is not good for you. This is very bad. It could just be an engagement too. Who knows? You're right. They could probably kind of fake that. Well, they can, we all know they could fake a lot of footage. They can see a lot of footage in previews that we don't see in the actual episodes. One of the really fun things here, Ashley, on this episode to me, somebody that we've really enjoyed when they came on the podcast, somebody that we know is a really special human, obviously very beloved on the beach.
Starting point is 00:19:54 it is it's a very matured conversation for Blake and Jess they both communicate well and I think they're both sad and that it didn't work out I think they were a cute couple for what it was.
Starting point is 00:20:07 It very much was a couple I was rooting for here you know alongside of Eliza and Aaron and Kylie Navan even though I don't feel like we've seen any of them and then you have Peter and I still don't know her name
Starting point is 00:20:18 even though I've wanted to. Sam. Yeah. Could you imagine if they get engaged and like they never ever built anything around them i think i'd be shocked that they made our television screen honestly i'd be happy for them because it'd be the first two minutes of television that we've seen of them since they started dating but yeah uh i really also enjoyed um the the vultures coming after jess
Starting point is 00:20:41 once she was single because you and i both know oh my gosh yes she's stunning she's stunning and she's super sweet and like everybody loves her and she's super easy to get along with and like she's just a catch right we've said it when she was like one of our top choices for being a catch when it comes to paradise and but she's been with blake since the beginning and as soon as her and blake in yeah i mean those dudes lined up like literally like i've and i get it i believe that they were like actually genuinely not just trying to get a rose they're like finally she's give me my shot i've waited a long time i've dated a lot of people to wait for her to break up yeah totally okay well let's go to the breakup for a second
Starting point is 00:21:22 You're right. It was nice. It was nice. It was a nice breakup. I felt like, you know how I felt. I feel like what Blake said, said it all. Like he felt further. He had less time with Katie, but like he knew in those little moments that it was love. And then he just wasn't feeling that with Jess. And then Jess goes and kind of like really blames herself for it. She blames herself for not being able to get there with him. And I'm just like, you guys, it's not a big deal. It's okay. nothing to feel like she she felt like she was doing something wrong and I was like it's there's nothing wrong to just not like somebody enough no there's not uh but again I think it was a missed storyline maybe I'll just blame it and that'll be my tagline this uh this episode but I felt like he knew that she couldn't get there and so like yeah he was communicating this wasn't like a shock to him be like he wasn't like sad and be like I know oh wow you can't get there It's like they obviously had these conversations over and over again where she was like and I want to see that. I want to see the rawness of her being like, like I really think you're amazing and I want to get there with you.
Starting point is 00:22:34 But I just haven't yet. And him responding with probably a, hey, let's give it time. Let's take it slow. Let's see if we can make it work. At some point then, you know, they both decided, hey, it's not getting there. And like we can't force it and we don't want to force it. And it's time for me to go. But we don't see.
Starting point is 00:22:50 I mean, maybe maybe a. Well, we saw a few weeks ago. Yeah, we saw a few weeks ago when she decided to take a break from it all. But that's not enough for me. There had to be other conversations that existed. And I want to see the maturity in those conversations. I want to see how they handled that. I want to learn from the way they did that, you know, just for my own perspective,
Starting point is 00:23:08 how do you handle a situation that's so uncomfortable, yet you do it with like that grace and kind of dignity where you say, hey, but let's keep trying. Like, but all of a sudden, they're breaking up. And we're going, wait, I thought you guys had healed this. wound. I thought you guys were better. I don't know. I don't think that you had like great optimism with them. I thought that this was very much
Starting point is 00:23:29 doomed from pretty much the start, but especially after their little week of division. But you know what? I think he loves Katie. I think he just loves Katie, right? Yeah. I do. I really think that they can rekindle things. He said that
Starting point is 00:23:45 he hadn't like given love a try for like two years. He seemed way more ruined by Katie than I would have assumed it gives me some like respect for him though because I kind of back in the day I think I judged him incorrectly when I said he's just going on Katie season to go on another season of The Bachelorette you know yeah yeah and now I see it I'm like no I think he just really liked her which is so much better than what I thought and I was wrong and I typically am so that's fine yeah no no I totally agree okay so you know what's a moment of chemistry that I was
Starting point is 00:24:21 shocked by and I kind of loved, but apparently it's just friendship chemistry was Kylie begging Blake to stay. I thought they're going to make out. Do you not feel something? Okay, good. I was like, wait, wait, wait, this is Kylie. Like, she's with somebody because I was rooting for the two of them in that moment. I was like, wait a second. Is this girl single? Like, I don't remind myself. Is she single? Because there was something there. She kept saying, I can't do this without you. I'm like, wait, you're with Avin. Like, what do you mean? And I was like, Okay. So wait, wait a second. Wait a second. Are you going to like, is this our twist? Is this going to be amazing? Because I feel more between you and Blake in this moment than I have felt between you and Ava in the entire season. Well, we saw more of her and Blake than we've seen of her. That's probably why. Yeah. So like, what was up with that? I know, right? They must just be really good friends. But again, we don't see that friendship. You know, other seasons, we have incredible friendships coming off the beach that were like so excited to follow.
Starting point is 00:25:21 along with. They remind you of the Susie Evans and Justin Glace types of friendships. We're like girls and guys. That was like me and Nick on. Yeah. So yeah. So like it's very similar. And then we don't see any of that. But obviously, Blake and Kylie had something. So why would they even put that in there if we didn't see their friendship? Because it would have been amazing if that was like the ending to the friendship. Because now I want to see more of the friendship. I don't know. It's a confirmed. Fusing piece of this year. Just another comment about, like, what I wish we could have seen more.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Just to fill in those little gaps of, like, what happened, like, why didn't Tanner and Rachel continue on? Like, all you really need in this kind of show is, like, a scene or two of them, like, at the bar, not being able to carry on a very thrilling conversation and then, like, put a little awkward music behind it. And then that's, that's it. It could take, like, 30 seconds, but it would give us some sort of. of understanding. Yeah, but it's not there this year. I hope, you know, there's been a big switch
Starting point is 00:26:28 in like leadership. I hope this was kind of their first go around at it. And they get, they just learn and get a little better for next season. Because I don't want paradise to go away. I'll be really sad if they just can't figure it out. But this season did. I mean, I think most people would say, hey, still paradise. It's still a bunch of good looking people on the beach, making out, figuring it out, doing crazy dates. Like, it's still paradise. But I think most people that I've talked to have said it just feels like we're missing a lot of the story and I and I agree I do I think we've missed so much of the story that now we're just kind of like watching it for the drama but we're so far along in the season you and I
Starting point is 00:27:05 both know that drama doesn't sell or people don't get into it this late in the season now they're ready to see who's going to end up together if yeah if any of these couples at this point end up engaged any of them I will be surprised because I I don't know how strong any of them are. Yeah. That's my feelings. I don't know. I can be wrong.
Starting point is 00:27:27 But I'd be surprised. No, you're right. And because of that, there's not going to be like a whole bunch of support from Bachelor nation. They're not going to be like, oh my God. I love like that.
Starting point is 00:27:38 I love that Bachelor in Paradise couple. Like I can't like I'm so. Like if they break up, like I'm so sad about it. It's like no one's going to be like really sad about it, which is sad to say. But, okay, hopefully everybody gets married and happy and anything.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Anyway, got to talk about. the Tyler and Mercedes thing because again that was weird now we've seen more hints to this there's something missing here because we've seen people say like oh Tyler isn't into Mercedes and like the secret notes or whatever and the roast and then she confronts him about it today and then it was like a little bit it was just weird because he was like I gave you that rose because I wanted to see if there was a spark and then he's like but there's no spark and then she was like well what they kind of agree that there was no spark lead me through this moment ben well i mean it's it's a
Starting point is 00:28:32 question again that i would have for you is what exactly was going on because i think what i expected in that conversation was to get clarity on why the note was written that tyler wasn't that into mercedes uh we didn't really get that clarity i didn't at least leave that conversation be like, yeah, he wasn't that into her. I left it being like, I think Mercedes is over it. Uh, she's ending this thing. I don't think she wants to fight for it anymore. Yeah, she ended it because there was all that like, there's, everybody was like he's not into you. So of course she's going to want to end it. Did we ever find out if it was true? It was totally true. He just said, okay, so Mercedes is like there's no depth. I don't feel like
Starting point is 00:29:13 you're trying to pursue me. I don't feel wanted. And then she said, I heard that long distance is off the table for you. And I think that you're just here to have a little thing. Are you here for a little thing? And then Tyler just like kind of gets emotional and he's like, I've been trying to find the spark, but I've just not found it with her. So. And now,
Starting point is 00:29:35 and now she's saying that she feels used, which I can't help but agree with her a little bit because. But it's confusing. It is. I mean, because we don't know, like, has he always not been into her? Because at some point he had to have been, right? Obviously, he did.
Starting point is 00:29:50 On their date, he definitely liked her, I guess. What happened since the date? Like, they just, they couldn't keep that date magic alive. Well, maybe. But, I mean, somebody here wrote a note that said he's not at an interr. So somebody has known for a few weeks now that Tyler wasn't into Mercedes. Yeah, you're right. It has been a few weeks.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Why we don't know why he wasn't into her. But my question is, if he was just there for a good time, then why did he settle down so quickly with Mercedes. Why Mercedes? Is there... That's a good point. I mean, is there other women that he was interested in? Obviously, he made out with Jess. But like that's...
Starting point is 00:30:27 So like, what was... I mean, maybe Mercedes is saying, Tyler, you just wanted to hang out on the beach with your buddies. You wanted to be here for another season. You found me. You knew we had something good enough to at least make it through the last couple weeks. And now you're out and I feel used for it. And I would understand that.
Starting point is 00:30:45 But again, we're making a lot of assumptions. along the way here. Assumptions that we don't have clarity on. We don't know really if that just wasn't a good relationship, which is totally okay. Or if he did kind of play a, you know, play her for a bit until the very end and said, I'm out. See you later. That was a good time. Yeah, just to see if somebody else popped by and then like just to get as much screen time as you can. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I don't love the way he handled it. I just feel like. I don't know. I just feel like I like the way, I just feel like he knew for quite some time. There was no spark and like she felt a little let on.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I was definitely as a viewer rooting for them to end it right there. Like I didn't want either of them to continue on with this relationship because no, I don't feel like the spark was there. And any time you're dating somebody for as long as they have and you walk up to them on the beach and it feels a little awkward, like you're like, wait, you're missing something here. Usually if you're really into somebody and you walk up to them the beach, like it's very comfortable and friendly and this one felt very distant and weird like they hadn't talked in two days uh and so now they were finally ending what they had before they didn't because
Starting point is 00:31:58 she made that comment about him like touching her leg and she's like he just never it's just never a thing he just never really like makes it a point to be like oh hey like i see you and i i like you yeah Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD...
Starting point is 00:32:33 Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Hi, I'm Janica Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcover podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection. Am I ready to enter this new part of my life?
Starting point is 00:32:57 Like, am I ready to be in a relationship? Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time? I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is. Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did. Join me for conversations about healing and growth. Life is freaking hard. And growth doesn't happen in comfort. It happens in motion, even when you're hurting.
Starting point is 00:33:21 All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen. Honestly, these are going to come out so freaking amazing. Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcomfort Podcast as part of the My Culture Podcast Network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Honey German. And my podcast, Grasas Come Again, is back. This season, we're going even deeper
Starting point is 00:33:48 into the world of music and entertainment with raw and honest conversations with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities. You didn't have to audition? No, I didn't audition. I haven't audition in, like, over 25 years. Oh, wow. That's a real G-talk right there.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Oh, yeah. We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians, content creators, and culture shifters sharing their real stories of failure and. And success. You were destined to be a start. We talk all about what's viral and trending with a little bit of chisement, a lot of laughs, and those amazing vibras you've come to expect.
Starting point is 00:34:23 And of course, we'll explore deeper topics dealing with identity, struggles, and all the issues affecting our Latin community. You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching? I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me. Yeah. But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you. Listen to the new season of Grasasas Come Again as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
Starting point is 00:34:54 or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York state number, and we own you. Shock incarceration. also known as boot camps are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you.
Starting point is 00:35:37 And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right. Well, so we've gone through these breakups, this confusion. Rachel obviously goes home because kind of the guy she's into is obviously maybe not into her and then has been chosen by somebody else. and she just feels like, hey, this is no longer her place to be, which is unfortunate, but Rachel's going to be fine.
Starting point is 00:36:13 She's a great girl. We thank the world of her. She's, she had a good run on the beach. Her and Kat had survived a lot longer, it felt like, than we ever expected the two of them too, because it felt like every week they were on the chopping block and that they found their way to the next week, in the next week, the next week. So we do have a few couples, though, Ashley, that we do got to celebrate. Eliz and Aaron feel strong.
Starting point is 00:36:35 They've gone through some stuff. that happens in a new relationship. Kylie and Avin, I think they're strong. Again, we just don't see anything of them. So it's impossible for us to say. But what's fun, a fun tidbit we get from the scenes for the next episode. He's like, why are you putting so much pressure on me to get engaged? Oh, ooh, what a question.
Starting point is 00:36:58 What a question in the week of engagement. I know. So, you know, she's been into him since he even, before he even showed up to the beach. So she's obviously very ready, hopefully, for this next step. And he's just kind of more hesitant. We do have Peter and Sam, who you mentioned, again, I literally at one point, Ashley, during this Rose ceremony, stopped my recording.
Starting point is 00:37:23 You press pause, yeah. So just try to figure out who she was. I know, clearly, I have not seen anything of her on our television screens. Why bring somebody from Bachelor Canada If you're not going to include them And like we're not even going to know them Like if it's going to be a huge character Then okay
Starting point is 00:37:43 Yeah If not then like just add another regular American version An American version contestant That we all have a general idea who it is Yeah And then the other So the good couples Before I mentioned my favorite part of the show to you
Starting point is 00:38:01 Okay we'll continue on with Michael and Olivia very cute I actually think those two might be the strongest couple like just based on their chemistry and how yes I like them don't tell me I just love Olivia I just think she's hilarious and I'm glad here's my question for you as a woman this might be inappropriate but I was watching all these women on the beach and they all look beautiful they have these like skin tight dresses on right and all these dudes are sweating through their linen shirts how does the women not have butt sweat coming off those dresses when it's like hugging their hips so tightly like how do none of them like show like some butt cheeks sweat well some of the materials probably don't let it bleed through um it certainly happens i can tell you that much i am a droopy girl like I my body gets really sweaty down there in paradise um so but I but I guess some girls just like have the lovely feminine the body that just doesn't really admit too much I don't know so it depends
Starting point is 00:39:14 on the person and our backs during the row ceremonies when it gets like so hot and you just feel like the drip because you're just standing in one spot I'd be so wet and so at least our backs are are turned but yeah I was watching these dates, and I was like, I would be so nervous if I was a woman here. Because, yes, you look beautiful, but you sit down on a couch for two seconds and you stand up and, like, you have the outline. And that's just not something I would want personally on TV. There's a lot of things I wouldn't mind if people showed of mine on TV. But just to see me, like, really sweaty and, like, my dress on a cocktail night showing through would make me nervous. So if I was the woman, I would be wearing, like, big old t-shirts.
Starting point is 00:39:58 that are, like, super, like, baggy. I'm not sure. That's a great question. I don't know how we've gotten away with it. Good, good point. Somebody is. Somebody's getting away with it and good for them. So, uh, other couples that we have, uh, John Henry and Cat, John Henry's into kissing
Starting point is 00:40:15 cat, never a shock to us. Definitely using tongue, I'm sure, as she requires. I wonder if you still have the hole in his tongue. When you get your tongue pierce, does it heal up? Doesn't? Is the ring not in there? there. Oh, I don't know. I think the ring is in there. Interesting. Yeah, and I'm sure it closes up. Yeah. It must. You hope so. It's not. Yeah. You use a little tongue and all
Starting point is 00:40:39 a sudden. You got floss your tongue. Ew. Goodness gracious. Um, Jordan Taylor, Tanner and Braidner are all single. Obviously, most of them have gone after Jess. Uh, not all of them successfully did it. Okay. Yeah. But when Jess chooses Tanner, I think, the rose ceremony. Taylor thinks that she called his name. And then he starts walking forward. Oh, that was the worst part ever. That's what happened to Jillian on my season.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Jillian ended up getting a rose from Crystal's that week, but it was not the intended one. Oh, I love that. Oh, my God. That is so heart-wrenching. Yeah, here's the deal. If it happened to anybody other than Taylor. It would be sadder.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Well, yeah, because, Like, he knew he wasn't getting a rose. Like, I don't know why the guy thought she was. I don't know why he thought it was actually him. She did talk to him solo. Yeah, but why that guy was on the beach is still confusing. You know, what, like. Another, like, too random.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Just like, why did you give me the most random? Like, you know, and then he thinks he's the one getting called. And yes, I'm sure in his hearts of hearts, he was very excited for that split second. Until he had to back up, which was, to me, hilarious. I love it. It was always a fear of mine when I was The Bachelor. If I would not enunciate somebody's word, like, or name properly, then they would get confused and come down. You'd be like, sorry, not you, somebody else. That would have been horrible. And it happened to Jess, which makes me happy, too, because she obviously is very sweet and kind, and she probably
Starting point is 00:42:24 felt so bad. That was my favorite part of episode. So, okay. To sum this up You're so evil I know I'm evil What else do you watch Paradise for Not to laugh at people Eliza and Aaron are together Kat and John Hinner are together
Starting point is 00:42:38 Kylie and Avin are together Olivia and Michael are together Sam and Peter are together Jess gives her rose to Tanner A little bit of a shocker A little bit of a surprise Mercedes then gives her rose to Jordan Obviously Rachel goes home
Starting point is 00:42:52 Along with Braden and Taylor And who else went home this week? just Brayden and Taylor Braden and Taylor yeah yeah that's it so we're on the next week final week of the season
Starting point is 00:43:06 well and Rachel I guess and then Tyler you know it's it's been a wild year we'll hopefully get some good love connections coming out of this it's going to be great for our podcast you know why
Starting point is 00:43:18 because all of these love connections we're not going to see a lot of them nobody's going to understand them and then we're going to bring them on the podcast interview them and get the whole story of their relationship. Yes, Ben. Yeah, so people finally understand why they like it.
Starting point is 00:43:35 We'll fill in where other people haven't. And I am so excited for it. Again, we have a huge week here at the Almost Famous Podcast. Massive week. As I mentioned before, I think it's the biggest content week we've ever done. A lot of cool things happening in a really cool location with great people. So Ashley and I are strapping up our boots. We're heading out to L.A.
Starting point is 00:43:55 It's going to be a blast. stay tuned for all of those episodes to air over the next few weeks. We're doing this, one, because we like to. Two, because, well, we like you all who are listening. Go out and leave us a review. Hopefully it's a five-star. If it's not a five-star, don't leave a review. And comment just how excited you are for the next couple weeks.
Starting point is 00:44:16 I hope it was a great holiday season for everybody. We'll be back for many more weeks. I can't even say we'll be back next week or next time because there's going to be a lot of next times here coming up on the Amist Fian. podcast.
