Hey, guys.
We have an incredible interview with Latia coming up.
We are so excited to have her talk a little bit about Taylor Friggy Paul, her role on the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
She's pretty close to that community.
But we also wanted to let you know that we did record this interview before the breaking news that Taylor Frengey Paul is stepping away from the secret lives of Mormon wives.
We hope you enjoy this interview of us catching up with Latia.
She gives us some good tea.
This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast with IHartRadio.
Welcome back to Almost Famous. It's Ben and Ashley, and we are so excited because today we get to talk to one of our favorites. In fact, I don't know about you, Ash, but she'd probably fall in my top five. She made a season happen that was really not even a season.
Ben, top five is a really powerful ranking. Yeah. Of the past few years, you're a big player.
Think about it this way. That season, if we're honest, was...
Yeah, it was fine. It aired, would be the credit I would give it. It made television.
And that is important these days.
Which is more, yeah, which is more than they can say for some.
She left Bachelor Nation a few years ago, but she's still popping up on our screens over on the secret lives of Morven Wise.
We're going to talk about that. And her cousin recently made a huge splash.
We got to talk to her right here. You can go back and listen to that episode on Let's Marry Harry.
There's a lot to talk about.
Come on now.
It's Latia Gar.
Come on.
Hi, guys.
Oh, Latia.
Thanks for coming back.
I will never be able to hear the expression,
come on now without hearing you.
And I'm happy about that.
Oh, that is so nice.
I feel the same and I don't know if I'm happy about it.
I think I could take a few years off of hearing it.
But it was a good moment.
I like it.
There's, Ashley, there's a few lines that stand out to me.
I won't even say it again through this whole episode, Latia, because you're sick of it.
But Becca Kufrin had one, too, that really lasted for a while, didn't.
What was that?
It was, oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
Do the thing.
Let's do the damn thing.
The damn thing.
The damn thing.
That's what she said.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was a good one.
Latia, you really did.
And I wasn't blowing smoke.
Your season did air.
Grant was the lead of your season.
We're going to talk about Grant.
today because you have interacted with him, or at least distantly on social media.
Grant has been on the show before.
He will be at the, I believe he's invited to the Bachelor Nation crews.
So I'm going to get to meet him in person there.
But first off, I want to talk.
You were just recently on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
That's been making the headlines recently.
What's your take on everything kind of surrounding that show right now?
Oh, so we're going to just start with the easy questions.
Yeah, we're just going to dive in easy.
You think those are easy?
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
No, no, I think it's so sad what's happening over there.
It seems like they are trying to write the ship, some of them.
And I'm supportive of the children.
Yeah.
Which feels like a polarizing thing to say.
But that's how I feel.
I hope that everyone gets healthy soon.
and a minimum for the kids.
I don't know.
Yeah, it's crazy over there.
And I'm telling you, like, more stuff happens off of that show than on it.
So I, if you think that the show is crazy, real life is crazier.
So you think that they're editing out stuff because it just would be too bad.
Yeah.
But I don't know.
I'm not there specifically.
Like, I can't speak to exactly what happened.
I just, it has.
been that way the whole time.
Really?
Yeah.
It's interesting.
My opinion.
It's interesting for me because I'm not like a reality television person.
And so I'm kind of catching up behind all the time.
But you were obviously on The Bachelor.
He made a huge splash on that show.
And then I think it was during the Bachelor.
I could be wrong about this.
But somebody like mentioned, oh yeah, and you're also friends with or you're associated
with the women on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
And immediately following that, the two worlds collided, like head first into each other.
And you, in a lot of ways, not stuck in the middle because there wasn't like controversy
surrounding you, but you were like your two worlds like hit.
And now all of a sudden you're involved in two of the most talked about shows on television.
Was that weird for you?
Did you see it coming? Did it happen out of nowhere?
I mean, I think it's probably pretty similar to your experience being the bachelor, Ben.
Like everything feels really big when it's happening to you, right?
Like when it's in my backyard and everyone lives 15 minutes from my house,
everything feels big.
But when like CNN and like all of the,
and it's every time I open my phone,
there's like a million opinions about this stuff that is so local to me.
It is so wild.
Yeah, it's insane.
I don't think that I saw it coming, but it's like I grew up in this religion.
I grew up in this place.
So I'm just like floored every time anyone is interested in it because it all seems so normal to me, the lifestyle at least.
Obviously everything that has transpired in the past 18 months is like not normal in any way, shape, or form.
No matter what religion you're in.
But I think that it has been interesting.
It has not been boring.
As far as life experience, I think it's been pretty cool for me.
because I don't have my life being blown apart or, you know, pick to pieces.
But it's definitely challenging for the people who do it.
And I think for one season of The Bachelor, you can do it.
And it's so fun.
But to do it over and over and over again, season, over season, over season.
And it's their real life is, I'm so happy that I just had to do my one season.
How close are you to the girls, like actually proximity, like location-wise?
I'm the closest with Miranda.
Miranda is one of my best friends.
We talk on the phone probably for a few hours every day
and see each other.
Oh, wow.
It depends a week.
So I'm closest with Miranda.
And now, do you think that since there are so many departures from the show,
you would ever be asked to be more,
I know that you've been in the background as some scenes.
You've never really had, like, a real speaking scene.
Do you think that they would try to integrate you as, like, a friend of?
No, I don't think so.
as in like, no, they wouldn't or no, I'm making it clear I wouldn't do it.
Oh, I don't, I don't think they would.
I think they pretty are firmly are like basing everything around moms, like being a mom
or being divorced.
And I'm oh for two on those.
So I, yeah, I'll take my clean, my clean, uninteresting boring life a little bit.
Yeah, same here.
Yeah.
I'm not, and I'm not willing to change that to be on the show is the other part of it,
which I think there are plenty of other people that.
are absolutely willing and wanting to do those things.
So I'll let them do it.
There's an interesting, before we kind of dive in,
because there's a lot to talk to you about.
And it is, I'm curious because so much of it,
you haven't actually pursued.
It is the randomness of two worlds colliding.
And then the controversy surrounding so many people within these two worlds.
Obviously, we'll get into the Taylor-Frank-Paul stuff
and how that season never even aired.
in the last season to ever air on television is a season that you're a part of,
and it probably feels like a lifetime ago for you.
But I don't know how to phrase this without maybe it coming off a little bit weird,
but the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Show is how people now in the world are viewing Mormonism.
That is a tradition that you have been a part of and that you are a part of.
You made a comment, and I really wasn't even going to bring it up,
but you made a comment like, you're used to this.
This is the world you grow up in.
But I'm wondering, is this what you see on the secret lives of Mormon wives?
I have people close to me that are a part of the Mormon religion who this isn't not their life.
This is not how day-to-day operates.
Can you speak a little bit to that and what we're watching and what's reality and what's true
and where this whole thing falls in the midst of a faith that you practice and hold
on to. Yeah. I think that the dynamics in as far as having like getting married very young,
having a lot of children very young, staying where you're, you know, you're blooming where
you're planted, kind of just everybody staying in Utah. Those are things that are normal to me.
And the issues that come with getting married very, very early from being like raised in a very
religious, conservative area and also like in, you know, each individual family, I think the issues
that come up that I see people talk about a lot online as far as our religion, just mainly how young
everybody is, how many kids everybody has, and why marriage is struggle, because nobody knows
who they are, actually. They don't have an identity outside of a religion or their marriage.
Those are common things. I think, you know, obviously domestic violence,
cheating, lying, like, just like the fighting is not normal.
Like I would say those are the antithesis of what our religion kind of stands for
and encourages and promotes.
I think that our religion is really, really based around family and around building
communities.
So I think those words are mentioned a lot on the show.
I don't think that I see those themes show up necessarily, but I don't think that those
things make very good TV.
So I don't, I'm trying to.
boil down the answer to your question. I think the problems that people are facing on that show
are very common for my religion. I think that the execution of those things is what's missing
on the show, but it's also what makes it interesting and real. And I, yeah, I also don't think
that getting married young is exclusive to being Mormon or having kids young is exclusive to,
you know, our religion either. So it's obviously very prevalent in a big part of our culture,
but there are other amazing things.
And also I'm 33 and I'm not married.
And that's also a very common thing.
Like in our religion, it's just, you know.
Has it affected the church though?
I mean, it doesn't, no, it doesn't affect day to day.
Like for the average member of the church,
I think when they bring it up outside of Utah,
it's kind of a hot button of like,
oh, do you know any people from the show?
But in terms of like what we teach and like,
how anything is like approached or spoken about in like church meetings,
not at all. It's exactly the same.
When they initially picked Taylor to be Bachelorette and coming off the heels of like so
closely to your season, what were your thoughts, especially since you, you knew her a bit
personally? I mean, I was excited for Taylor. I think, you know, Ben knows this. Ashley,
you know this. You've been in it for a long time. It's like,
such an incredible opportunity, not, I think, just to find love, but it's like of self-discovery.
And like being on a TV show, especially being the lead, you find out so many things about
yourself that you would never find out. And you find them out so much.
You know, and I would, I have learned so much about myself from that. So I was excited for Taylor
in that way. And she, you know, already was really good TV and really interesting.
I think she's a good person. So it's excited for her. But yeah, it's disappointing. But,
it got wasted.
I think she wasted it as a bummer.
You mentioned that she's a good person.
And I think that right now is not a narrative that makes the headlines.
Like you said, you always have to look a little deeper than the headlines.
And we only get the spark notes of controversy and of the things that are coming up in court hearings.
Can you speak a little bit to what you know about her, kind of how she is as a person, maybe how she's doing.
now because recently the headlines were announced that, you know, she failed drug test.
I don't even know if that's been proven, but it's allegedly that she failed a drug test,
which means her time with her kids are going to be shortened.
And so I think that we just, and we've talked about it here, Latia, where it feels like Taylor
just isn't in the place to be a lead of a show like this with the pressures that it is.
And now that she did it, everything is compounding on her.
And I'm a fan.
I don't know her.
her in passing, but I am worried about her because I felt like I was at a pretty stable place
when I was the lead of the show, and it crushed me at times to where, like, I was sitting in my
bed being like, I don't know how to take the next step in life, not let alone being a dad,
having the kids and having consistent negative things said.
Yeah, I think, so I don't know too, I don't know Taylor's super well.
and I don't know enough about her right now to comment on her state of being,
I'm looking at the same stuff that you're looking at.
As far as her being a good person,
I think that just because your actions don't necessarily match all the time
doesn't mean that it's not true because, you know, like everybody is imperfect.
And so I would love to just extend the grace to her that she's a good person doing the best she can.
and I would not wish the scrutiny that she goes through on anyone.
And I think it's pretty obvious that she's not doing, you know, well.
And she's struggling.
I think she's pretty vocal about that.
But I think that it's exactly what you said.
It's compounding pressure over and over and over again.
And coupled with like saying yes, like accepting responsibility and making commitments.
I think that's the part that is such a bummer about it to me is because you,
know the crew and everybody that works on Bachelor and what everybody puts on hold to make the show
happen. And so I think it's just, and it's the same thing with secret lives. It's just, you know,
people put everything on hold to make it come together. And if it all falls apart from one person,
I think that's partly like for secret lives due to poor planning. Like I just think there, you know,
are many people that could lead the show. And we're focusing on one person who's not doing well and
isn't capable of doing it right now.
And then obviously that's the format for Bachelor.
So yeah, my advice would be to pick someone who's ready to be elite.
But that's a tough thing to test for, you know.
Did you kind of know going into her Bachelorette season that it was going to be a
slop show and she probably wasn't going to end up with who she picked?
Just based on her status going into it.
Yeah, I think based on her recent pattern of behavior,
it didn't seem like she was ready to settle down and be married to one person that
wasn't Dakota.
I mean, I don't, I don't think that's like a hot take either.
No, no, I know.
But I'm just saying knowing personally, like, if we were to go back to last September
when she left her filming.
Yeah, the whole stuff of secret lives is about her and Dakota.
So I think any story of her finding love with someone else was a bit of a stretch.
And putting faith in something that they hadn't seen anything, like they didn't
seen any evidence that she could move on from Dakota.
So it was interesting that they picked a show they've been millions of dollars in two to like get her get her off of that.
But I mean, she's entertaining TV.
That's the thing is at the end of the day, is it about her finding love or is it about like creating an interesting season of The Bachelor?
And I think it's probably a very interesting season, even if she didn't end up with the guy.
Honestly, I don't want to sound like a snot, but like I actually feel like she offended the franchise.
because and I like sound like about my like high horse there being like I'm married and have children for the franchise so like I can say this but that's not what I mean I just mean like she going into it could have had the greatest of intentions even though everything was a little sloppy the fact that she got home and then cheated on the guy willy nilly with not one but possibly two guys and then said I'll just have my lawyer break up with him like just a little bit of
offend it. I hate to be the guy she was engaged to watching that scene for sure. Yeah,
that it doesn't feel good at all. Well, and it's, I mean, even from my own experience,
and let's, I don't, we'll get into your season and grant here in a second. I have a lot of
curiosity surrounding that. But, you know, obviously that relationship for me didn't work.
But it was like very hard that it didn't work at the time. Like, it was very real to me. And
It was.
Didn't you want it to work?
Like you wanted it.
You're like this great for a multitude of reasons because everyone's relying on it,
the fan base, whatever, but also you have real feelings for that person.
You've grown close to them and it's such a special,
unique experience like how great would this be?
And I think every relationship anyone ever has,
they're like, wouldn't that be great if I didn't have to date ever again?
And it's just you and you.
But yeah, no, that was not present.
I'm actually surprised too with how.
like pop culture moves today,
that there hasn't been more of an uproar
that, hey, show that is about love,
you chose somebody that you knew
was not willing to go through this process
looking for love.
Like you not only crossed the fourth wall there,
you put somebody up that was not ready.
Yeah, it's not just Taylor's fault there.
No, the show said yes to it.
And it was because she makes good TV.
And it was because...
Taylor gave them exactly more of what she does on the other show that they love.
So I don't...
And these people make TV for a living.
So not... I'm not coming for anyone specific, but the room was on the wall.
I don't think anyone's shocked that it crashed and burns.
It's just unfortunate that it was...
Such a burn.
Yeah. And it's sad.
I mean, it is.
Like you said, yeah, I mean, I think it's been our sentiment.
You know, we want Taylor.
to be well, just as a human from what we know, but goodness, there's kids involved.
And when there's kids involved, I think it's just all of a sudden becomes elevated.
And then you know the lives are being affected and passed around and changed because of the
behaviors of adults.
Speaking of behaviors of adults and speaking of people ready to find love,
Grant was the lead of your season.
So true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Recently, you and Grant have had an interaction on social media.
We had Julian on the show months ago when she kind of announced her new boyfriend.
It was interesting.
She made it seem like they were married, but they definitely weren't.
No.
No, at the time, her boyfriend, we were like, you're definitely married.
And she kind of like hinted at maybe we are, but they're not.
She felt for Grant, which I think, goodness, if I had a serious relationship with somebody
and somebody interviewed them afterwards
and they're like, I just, I want Ben to be okay
because I feel for him like he's missing the mark here in life.
I would listen to that and feel so small and so bad.
What's your sentiment towards Grant now?
I think would be the best way to summarize all that I just said
was when you think about Grant Ellis and your time on the show
and how he's out there talking to people,
what's your feelings towards the man?
Oh, I'm rooting for him.
Goodness gracious.
No, I'm, I'm being facetious just because of what you just said.
But I think that he's learning.
He's doing his best.
And I think that he's a good guy.
And, you know, he doesn't always deliver everything that he wants to say in the way that
would work best for him or for anyone else.
I think he just is figuring it out, just like we all are.
I definitely just like, you know, put my head in my hands a little bit sometimes when I see
stuff. But it's like, I mean, yeah, will you ask me the question again? Sorry, I'm like,
so I actually have so many thoughts about it. I'm like, what exactly was the question? Because I'm like,
said Juliana, and then I'm like, I can comment on her thing. I can comment on Grant's thing.
I just think he's a good guy. Bless his heart. And like, it's all good. Like, it's all, and it's all. And
that is going to make him feel small too, but that's honestly how I feel. Like, it's not, and I don't
mean it in any kind of like passive aggressive patronizing way. I like that's, I mean, authentically
how I feel. He says things that piss me off still online. He says things about my family,
says things about me, but I just, I don't think that he means anything by it. I think a lot of time
he just kind of wants to generate a little bit of buzz and attention or it's just generally
his feelings and he doesn't care to filter him.
But I...
But isn't the pursuit of garnering attention and saying things that are out there or just
like you put your heads in the hand?
Isn't that behavior that you say, hey, I would like you to stop it?
Oh, I have.
I do.
Yeah.
Like, I think his first message to me was just basically like mending fences.
And that was like a few months ago.
He talked about it on a different podcast.
Someone sent me a time.
clip. I think it was on Rachel and Charities
podcast. And they just
and he just reached out to me and
said, hey, sorry for how everything went down
and, you know, hope you're doing well.
Sorry about everything I said about Mormons and your
family. And I just said,
no worries. Like,
he had said something that was offensive
a few days before he wrote that message.
It's like, it's stuff like this that keeps happening
is that is what makes me mad.
But if you can, you know,
stay in line. We're all good.
Love horror movies.
but also working on yourself.

We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.

And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Does the Pope dress up?
He winks on Halloween.
He gets right up next to the microphone.
I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.
You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.

Hey, this is Robert Lamb.
And this is Joe McCormick, and we're the hosts of the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
This week on the show, it's Star Trek.
So we're going to be talking about the Borg all week long.
Are you ready to get some probes put in your flesh?
That's right.
Tune in. Resistance is futile.
We're going to talk science, the culture of the Borg, various interpretations,
and we're going to talk about Star Trek First Contact on Weird House Cinema on Friday.
Listen to stuff to blow your mind on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Okay, well, we got to get into the Harry part.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So your cousin, Amber, ends up winning Harry Joce's season of Mary Harry.
What's funny?
What's funny about that is that they, so two of the Bachelor producers had reached out to go on Harry's show.
They wanted you to go on Harry's show because Bachelor production.
was heavily involved in creating this show.
Some of the producers.
Some of the producers,
like some of the crew that were on Bachelor
were on Let's Marry Harry.
And so some of the,
during the casting process,
one of them had reached out and had been like,
he's serious.
Harry's serious about getting married.
Like, you're the girl.
You're the serious girl.
You're the serious about marriage girl.
I didn't buy it,
but I was,
was like my cousin is in the casting process.
And I think she actually like personality wise would actually like be a good fit.
Okay.
Then she made it on.
And, um, and then they got married.
I know, isn't that so nuts?
What are the odds?
So did they get married?
Just tell us cousin to cousin.
I was at the wedding.
I have the, like I have a video of their vows on, on my phone.
So like to me, it was it was real.
But it wasn't civil.
Like it was like a, a ceremony, but it wasn't like, like,
Apparently they didn't file it.
Like you can take the license and then something like that.
But I, yeah, I don't know.
I guess it wasn't real because they didn't ever file it.
But it wasn't anything from, it seemed real from where I was sitting.
But did she sign a piece of paper?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Supposedly, when I talked to her, she was saying that the show told her,
hey, if we file it, it becomes public.
And that is true.
So like maybe that was there out the whole time.
If we file the paperwork, it becomes public.
And so people would know who he chooses and we want to file it after the show airs.
But in her mind, she was married to Harris.
She didn't have possession of that certificate.
So in her mind, she had signed it and taken it away.
And the show is called, let's marry Harry.
So she's like, I mean, you told me that I was married.
You put me in a wedding dress.
And I said, bow.
Like, you know.
Where have we gotten to guys as a world where,
we're now making a joke of the sacred vows of marriage and commitment to marriage to where we're like,
yeah, that wasn't actually real.
We just threw you in a dress.
Had you shared these things.
And then it's not actually a marriage.
It feels very quick baity to me because I think the show would have been just as interesting
if it wasn't ending in a marriage.
Yeah, they didn't need to do that.
The marriage is a little bit of a reach.
I don't think like people are going to watch girls fight over.
a man, whether they're getting married at the end or not.
Yeah.
So then after this finale and she was all upset and just days later talks to Ben and is obviously
upset, then Grant goes online somewhere and says that your cousin ended up pulling similar
moves as you after your finale?
Tell us about it.
Well, he said I was like coaching.
He's like, oh, I could tell that you coached her because I was having flashbacks.
I was like, okay.
Like, yeah, I don't know.
Like I'm like, it's just like him making it about himself and commenting on it.
And it's okay.
Like, yeah, you both got embarrassed by girls that you were mean to.
Like, it's true.
That is something that you can connect on.
I think it's like silly.
We didn't coach.
We had, Amber and I are very different people.
And we have very different.
with different men.
So I was very, I encouraged her to definitely say everything that she wanted to say
and get it all out there.
But I wasn't coaching her.
And also, I'm like, you guys saw her.
You think that girl could be coached?
That's what I mean.
Like, in those moments, you-
No shot.
No, those moments are authentic.
Yeah.
So then you also wrote back to him saying something like,
Yeah, la la la la, la, la, la, don't delete this the way you usually do.
Does he like to delete things on Instagram when he gets schooled?
He'll like leave a comment and then delete it.
He did it on, he does it on Chase's video sometimes where he'll like leave a comment and then delete it and then leave a different one.
And so I was just teasing him because I knew he was going to have second thoughts.
Stand on it, bud.
Say it with your chest.
You know, being going through this process myself and I had, I think I would already.
you had the best cast of women of all time.
I just, I think they're awesome people.
I had a great group.
But they're, I mean, I really wanted them to be like,
hey, at least I'm glad I came.
Like, he's not my guy.
He's a little weird, but like,
I'm least like gave it a good shot and he, you know,
it didn't work out.
You get a pretty good picture of what women after the show,
you could,
like you wouldn't want to mess with.
Like not that I mess with any of them.
I was very, like, excited about all the women I had.
There was nobody was like, hey, they, they are this or they or that.
Like, none of that.
There's no hard feelings, right?
Like, Jojo, incredible person had no hard feelings.
And she was, like, you know, sad for two months and then got married.
You would definitely be somebody I would never mess with Latia.
Like, I would 100% be like, hey, yeah, she, like, yelled at me at the final thing.
And that got a little messy.
I'm not saying a word about that girl.
Like she will crush me if I like.
So why is he?
Like how does he like that takes some.
You're smart, man.
You're smart.
That takes some guts, it feels like for him.
Yeah.
I mean.
Stupidity.
One of the two, maybe a good mix of both.
Who knows?
I think that like it's also though at the end of the day.
Like I'm very honest and direct,
but it's not much deeper than that.
Like I'll tell you.
exactly what I think you need to hear in whatever moment.
But after that, it's like, I'm not holding grudges.
I'm not doing big vendettas.
And he, I think, knows that.
So when he steps out of line, I'm happy to just invite him back.
Where, you know, we can all be friends again.
But, you know, he will step back out.
And then he just gets reminded, I guess.
I don't know.
Well, you mentioned before your podcast, well, Chase, you mentioned Chase.
Chase and he was your co-host on your podcast. What's up with the podcast? We haven't seen anything come out.
No, I know. The lovely lawyers at ABC and Warner Brothers let us know that they were not excited
about our podcast and invited us to stop making episodes. Invited us to stop. This is why we don't
mess with Latia. She's going to be amazing like that. And just to let the audience know if they
didn't know your podcast
with Chase. He's also from
House Mormon Wives. Sorry, I always
like to call it Mormon House Wives.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
And it was
going to be recapping those episodes, right?
I mean, it was just like a
pop culture podcast. Yeah.
We had like a little bit of advice, a little bit of pop culture
discussion. You still under contract
with ABC though? And Warner?
I'm not under contract anymore.
So technically we could
Maybe we don't.
Ashley, Latia, apologize for doing this like you're not here.
I'm sitting here going how in the world was she not our bachelorette?
I know.
You would have been unbelievable.
Like was that ever even a thought, Latia?
Oh yeah, I went to L.A.
I met with that.
Like, I mean, along with, you know, a dozen of the other finest candidates that they could muster up.
But you know what the brutal truth of it is.
It's that his season didn't do well enough.
So you weren't big enough.
Yeah.
Well, I think, like, the past, like,
other seasons didn't do well enough.
I mean, really besides Joey's, you know.
Yeah, Joey's season was a diamond in the rough
over the past few years, yeah.
You've heard the chaos.
Now you can see it.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my God, Lexi.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youan.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio,
the old one, which means we have wildly different references,
occasionally different opinions,
and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
I'm not going to get anyone fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes,
good taste is my business,
and I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this,
there would be so much more peace in the world.
We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older,
a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating
you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight to fight, but there's only so much
fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.

Yeah, it's reading.
It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.
A panel of New Yorker cartoonists.
Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
That's crazy.
I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.

Would be my first question for you if you're going to be the bachelor's. Do you want to find love?
Of course I do. I love love.
And then my next question for you would be, and I'm asking this genuinely, is are you single?
I'm so single. It's crazy. Why? Like, I don't get that. Like, how, how have you gotten off of all these dating shows? You've put out to the world, hey, I want to meet somebody. She's only been on one dating show. Then you've, I guess one show, yes. But you put out to the world now, hey, I want to meet somebody. I'm open to it. And nobody has came through into your life.
I asked my, it keeps me up at Nipen. I don't know. I wish I knew. Maybe I need to be less available. Maybe I need to say I'm not looking for love and then it will magically materialize. I don't know. I don't know. On Mormon wives, they make it seem like there's a pretty small dating pool in Utah. Is, does it feel small? Yes, 100%. I don't really date a ton in Utah. I think I, I mostly date people out of state. Yeah. Are people asking you out on dates?
they do sometimes and it's awesome i love it when they do that yeah yeah but you're like you're
not taking them up on it or do you want to go in oh yeah i'm going on dates i just think it just
takes a lot you know to be special and be in a relationship like it takes a lot if i can do it you can do it
um same that's what i think that's what i think it's that hard if ben can do it i can do it no let's see it
You are just a, you're a diamond.
Like, I don't want to keep saying diamond of the rough,
but like you would have been a wonderful lead in every single way.
You check all the boxes.
And, oh my gosh, it's your problem is that there's not enough guys that match your quality.
Oh, that's a good reason.
I'm sticking with that.
Okay.
That's my reason.
I think that's when you go to bed tonight, Latia,
and you lay your head in your pillow.
you remember those words
that Ashley just shared and spoke over you
is that there's just not enough guys
that match your quality.
But there are those guys.
There are.
Maybe I need to adjust my quality then, huh?
No, you just have to find the few out there.
Somehow, you know what?
You know, oh, oh, oh, question.
So, do you see how dominant that trailer,
that tease for Chris Harrison's new show is?
Yes.
And the fact, it looks so, like,
I was so proud of them for putting together.
He's cute. He's cute.
And, you know, he's Christian.
It's more about like old school marriage values or trying to bring it back to like what
the master may have been 20 something years ago.
What if you were the lead of that?
Okay, 10 years ago and same 11 years ago.
So back to what it was 11 years ago.
What do you think if they were to ever ask you to be?
the lead of that show because you are, you know, you have, you're a woman of faith.
Is it a faith-based dating show?
It's not 100%, but yes.
Okay.
I mean, I'm definitely open for sure.
I think I love Chris Harrison.
I think that he brought something special and awesome to Bachelor that it has been missing,
not to say anything wrong against Jesse because I also love to see.
Definitely nothing wrong with Jesse.
No, not at all.
and it's probably a multitude of things.
Like, not the only change that's been made in 11 years.
I would, I'm excited to watch it and to, like, I'll have a better answer, but of course, 100%.
Yeah, I'm looking for love.
I'm looking for something fun and new opportunities, 100%.
Well, I think what I would envision is the conversation that you and Grant had, I remember, at your hometown, that like on the surface spoke into
your family and your faith traditions and how you guys operate would be a consistent thing
throughout what Chris's new show is doing. And so those conversations would not just end after an
hour. They would exist an entirety through the whole thing. And then at the end, you guys could say,
yes, I'm into this or I'm not and that's okay. But you at least no. And it's not like a,
all of a sudden you're getting slapped across the face with, hey, and this is how my family lives.
take it or not you have two hours to decide um and i think that's important especially in dating it kind of
feels like what dating is a hundred percent i think too one thing that i'm would be excited about about this
show is that because the faith part is kind of addressed in the beginning that that's part of what
everyone's doing it wouldn't be this huge anomaly like it was like i feel like my entire arc was like
she's great but oh she's Mormon everybody like be careful because she's great
Like, so I think that getting that kind of like novelty out of the way and just being like,
I love God.
Crazy.
I know.
But if we can also move past that, I'm a person with a lot of other things that are interesting
and unique about me.
So I think that would be something fun.
And I don't only date Mormon guys.
That's the other thing that I always keep seeing.
So I would be interested and excited to meet guys from different places and different backgrounds
with different beliefs.
guys not to you know make fun but do we think that ABC may have invited the vow to stop promoting that teaser
yes I 100% think they've invited the vow to stop and I don't think Fox is going to respond I'm like no I and if I'm
like way to kick us when we're down literally like he's been waiting for this he's like at their lowest
moment comes out with an awesome show yeah somehow Chris Harris
has the perfect timing yet again to say, hey, we're just going to film this show, have it in the back
pocket, and then right when The Bachelor has not aired for a year.
It's like, what's that?
Everybody misses Old Bachelor and we don't have a season.
I know.
Hi, guys.
It was a little bit of a carmic.
Hello.
Goodness gracious.
It's hilarious.
And he knows what he's doing.
He does.
He's good at it.
A, Latia, as we close up.
up here. We really did mean it. And I know that grant season did what it did. And I know
let's marry Harry did what it did. And I know the headlines of Secret Lives of Mormon wives do what they
do. But for you personally, for people that just want to engage in your life and celebrate you
and support you, how can they best do that right now? What is going on in your world that you would
want to tell everybody out there listening? This is what's going on. This is who I am. And this is where
you can help me out.
Well, I'm Latia.
I'm a Pisces.
You can.
Yeah, same.
Yeah, I'm still just figuring it all out.
But I'm definitely open to love.
Ask me on a date if you're normal and cool and fun.
That's dangerous.
Click my links, you know?
Click the links.
That is how you support us.
That's how you support me.
All right, Lucia, you're,
joy. You're a brilliant gem. And we love having you here. Thank you for giving us so much today.
Like, you are kind of involved in a lot of things that we talk about here.
No, I feel like I'm involved in everything and I gave nothing. So I'm sorry, but I also, it's fun to
talk to you guys. I always love chatting. Thanks for so much for having me on.
Yeah, we're going to have to find more ways to get you back here.
you are we should recap the vow we should recap the vow okay that'd be terrific because we'd
recap the vow with the person that's going to lead the second season of the vow as the first
female lead of it and we would have her right here with us Ashley lettia don't tease us we
would actually love to have you be our third one yeah let's do it's book it on the counter
hey lettia you are great we wish you the best keep being you
and we look forward to more updates and more headlines that you are somehow associated with after doing nothing to be associated with them.
