Starting point is 00:00:42 Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story. Does anyone know what show they've come to see? It's a story. It's about the scariest night of my life. This is Wisecrack, available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. On the new podcast, America's Crime Lab, every case has a story to tell. And the DNA holds the truth. He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha. This technology is already solving so many cases. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

We just welcomed one of my favorite people, an incomparable soccer icon, Megan Rapino, to the show. And we had a blast. Take a listen. Sue and I were, like, riding the lime bikes the other day. And we're like, we! People ride bikes because it's fun.
Starting point is 00:01:56 We got more incredible guests like Megan. in store, plus news of the day and more. So make sure you listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Brought to you by Novartis, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports Network. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHart Radio. This is the Almost Famous Podcast. We have the, what do you consider yourself?
Starting point is 00:02:22 Are you the hosting? Cont respondents last night? Gold Carpet Correspondence. The two of you I have no clue how you did actually I have not seen it I was going to say you did great and I was like I'm glad to you
Starting point is 00:02:37 If you believed the internet Which they said we did great No really Kathy absolutely crushed it Oh we crushed it together No seriously you're so funny I still think it would have been better If they dug me a hole and put you on a step ladder I think so too
Starting point is 00:02:50 More humor here she is she's already started When did the two of you find out this was going to be your role I think like a few weeks ago It was kind of like a brief short notice And we're like, okay, we're going All right then It was like, where are you
Starting point is 00:03:08 I'm going to be on January 4th And can you come and help us out? Sure, what do you need? Amazing Literally. And you didn't know it was coming. Like there was no warning. No.
Starting point is 00:03:20 And like I think they Let's see that again in you. No. They had asked me and then they didn't tell me that Kathy was going to be with me initially. So then I was like, okay, like, is it by myself?
Starting point is 00:03:31 Yeah. And then they're like, no, it's going to be with a golden lady. And I was like, I'm trying to think, like, who is it? Yeah. It was literally only you that I can think of because I was like, I've seen you guys this season. Just because my mouth arrives before I get in charity. I was saying, your mouth is there.
Starting point is 00:03:45 It's there. It's talking to Kathy about this last night. I don't think I've ever had the experience. How do you mentally prepare for? live television like being on TV you've gotten used to yeah both of you have all you know drista it's not a big deal but live TV I feel like mentally I'd be kind of it'd be a different ballgame well and also so I've done a little bit of correspondent stuff like back in the day good morning America and extra and whatever a bunch of other stuff and I think live red carpet stuff is
Starting point is 00:04:21 actually really difficult like the stuff that when we're getting interviewed right you're talking about your life. I mean, hello. You're an expert on everyone is an expert in their own life, right? So you're interviewing other people. So I feel like for me, the experience was harder. The cameras didn't matter to me because I was used to that stuff, right? But it's like talking to other people and trying to get their personalities to come
Starting point is 00:04:50 alive, right? Instead of just answering questions about your life, right? Do you feel, did you have fun with it? Did you enjoy it? I did and I like to like go off of that I think for me that was like probably harder. Like I can talk, I can speak, but like to like know you only have short amount of time and you know you're trying to like get a feel for someone's person. Like you know who you're probably going to interview but even then in that moment you don't
Starting point is 00:05:13 know what to expect or what you're going to get. Right. Kathy, I will say she ups. That's why I said you crushed it because like you're so good at like just being like witty and like quick and I was like, you know, trying to still get a feel. And so that was something I was like stepping into. but it is hard. It's like you don't really, you can't really prepare for it.
Starting point is 00:05:29 And following a script. You know, you have the prompter in front of you and you can, you know what your lines are going to be essentially, but sometimes your mind doesn't connect to your mouth. I mean, my mind,
Starting point is 00:05:40 truly when I said last night, I wasn't sure what was going to come out of my mouth. I mean, that is the truth for me. Always. But I didn't, for me, I didn't think about live TV. I just thought I'm talking to my friends
Starting point is 00:05:53 that I've met. Yeah. And if you're, for me, if you're yourself and you make the other person feel comfortable, it's going to go well. Yeah. True story. What a place to be on live television, not knowing what's coming to your mouth. I know. I don't know what's coming on that mouth half of the time.
Starting point is 00:06:10 So I'm with you. I want to phrase this question for you, Kathy, because after last night, I do believe the Internet said you did a great job. I think they are thrilled with the two of you and think it was really fun. but there is this side of it where the comments are like how like why would kathy agree to do this job at teresa's wedding after you guys kind of were known for the the battle during the show right where the words were said can you just give our listeners a perspective on where that relationship stands today and why you said yes to doing this at her wedding so teresa and i truly are very good friends i mean i we sent them a wedding gift we you know i talked
Starting point is 00:06:52 with Teresa on the phone. I talk with Gary. They are lovely people. It was such a minute part of the whole, of the whole experience. And coming here and seeing them be so happy, I jumped at the chance. I love to celebrate love, their love, my love that's coming. So it was just such an opportunity. And of course, Bachelor franchise and meeting all these wonderful people, honestly, it's just been a gift for me. It's a gift. Oh, I love that. That's awesome. So there was never like, there was, you know, there was such a, like you said, in my new issue, there was never this like, I can't do that because we can't stand each other. You guys have been friends. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:07:33 We love each other and we talk on the phone and we, you know, I was with her when she went for her wedding dress shopping. It's just, you know, sometimes in the moment something happens and it's just, it's just that. It's a moment. Yeah. And seeing their faces and getting hug, giving her a hug and getting a hug. It was just great. to resume that friendship.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Well, thanks for the explanation. Because, you know, I think, I think that's how it felt last night. You know, if you were there, you felt the celebration for everybody. There was never like, you know, we just had Leslie in here. You know, if anybody would feel weird about being here, it would be her. And she's like, no, I want to be here to see my friends. Yeah. But also, you know, to celebrate them.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Yeah, totally. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly. and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, I'm Jenna Lopez. Starting point is 00:11:01 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone say hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a... comedy club. I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality
Starting point is 00:11:22 nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear. The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club. A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:12:09 So, Charity, how are things with your very tall man? Tall, good-looking smart. I told her I at the wedding. He is the sweetest guy ever. I love him. How are things? Things are actually great. Obviously, like, we just wrapped up dancing with the stars.
Starting point is 00:12:28 But when I say, like, that in itself was its own journey. But, like, obviously, our relationship still being, like, semi-fresh in the public eye, like, he is just truly the best person. He's so supportive. I could have not done any of that without him, truly. And just for us to kind of still be in a place where we're. just he's a nurturer that's who he is at his core and you know we're still building our relationship every single day that's never going to stop but we're in just such a great place like after this we're going to new york um that's where we'll be at and just like getting settled for
Starting point is 00:13:03 the first time having our own place and are you getting a place together like you're choosing one not one place that one of you have lived before so it's all new and it's just us like moving in for the like it's ours together so it's just like a really happy chapter in our lives and you know I'm just now being able to like also start wedding planning so it's just all exciting like we're doing so good and he is great so so happy for you guys all see that in him too I turned around last night I said charity this is stupid like he's tall looking and super smart like nobody should have all three of those things I know like I feel like I found somebody like that but I used to be here we go again left out again I used to be the tall guy here then
Starting point is 00:13:46 true you have he walks in less than I'm now like not even the tall guy you are not even close i would love to see you kind of thing i want to do here as we close up with the two of you yeah um trista this has worked for you yeah very much so your two kids were here charity you're just getting started uh in your relationship yeah trista is there any like if if charity were to ask you the question how do i make this now work yeah like what now right after dance went to start that's and i ask for every time i see you know i know the two of you are doing well But, like, I've been in a bachelor relationship. There's difficulties around every corner unexpectedly.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Yeah. So Trista, if you were to give her those, like, one piece of advice to make this thing work and push it to a healthy place from here and out, what would you say? So I will say, so I did Dancing with the Stars 2, but it was a really long time ago. And we had, I was the first season. They called and they were like, we want you to be on a ballroom show. I'm like, well, what are you talking about? Ballroom dancing?
Starting point is 00:14:43 Is that a thing? And now it's a really big thing in America. um but like i had a partner who wanted me to be very like connected and sensual and whatever and i'm like i just got married like three years ago two years ago my life this please it was so uncomfortable and but we had already had like a couple years off the show right and so when i heard that you were doing it i was like just no no why are you doing it i don't want it to ruin your relationship yeah And I have to say that I think that you've done an amazing job. I know, we talked last night about how grueling it is physically, like having to be there every freaking day.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Like, you are going. Non-stop. Non-stop. So that's really hard to maintain a relationship. And you guys looked so happy last night, like, so happy. And I'm just, I think that you've already started the good stuff. So you are planning on getting a place. together in New York. And I think that's a huge step forward. And so that would have been like my
Starting point is 00:15:50 piece of advice is try to like focus on each other. Yeah. Obviously. That's kind of like in any relationship, right? If you want the relationship to flourish, you have to give it attention and put an effort. Right. But I think also just in general, like you always hear the piece of pieces of advice like, you know, communication and trust and honesty. And yes, of course, all of those. things you need to have part as part of your relationship but also i feel like what i've learned over the years is forgiveness and not what you're thinking like necessarily like big like you know um infidelity and stuff like that it's more like the everyday if if i say something to hurt ryan's feelings if he says something or does something or whatever that like just make me put me in a bad mood i'm
Starting point is 00:16:40 having a bad day he's not being especially supportive because he doesn't feel good or whatever is happening like the tiny little forgiveness is throughout the day throughout the week throughout your your life together as a couple i think it's really so important to remember to always come back yeah to each other and what you found no that's so beautiful and i think that's like also something i don't think i hear that often it's like always the other things but like that's like a really good one Because I think when that isn't in place, it can obviously not lead or not, can help eliminate, like, things growing into bigger things. So I really appreciate you telling me that. And thank you.
Starting point is 00:17:21 Well, you got a big chapter in front of you, Charity. I do. You've had a busy year. You've had a lot going on. Last night was a success for Kathy and Charity. You crushed it, I think. According to the Internet. I can I just say that what I just heard was you can't have a good relationship if you're not the Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Florette and you're not on Dancing with the Stars. I'm squirred. No. That's not true. There's still a chance for you. They have an ex-Golden and Dance with the Stars has another season. Texas Two Step is about one. Be careful.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Dancing with the Stars might just be that close. And it's a whole new ride. Hey, anyways, congrats in the success for the two of you. I hope you have a great day in these next cool chapters for you. Thank you. kicking off something new and something different than what was before. Thank you, guys. Thank you. Thank you.
