Bachelor, Bob, breaking down the latest episode of Paradise with me. Hey, Bob. Thank you so much for doing this while Ben is away in Italy, getting some much-deserved rest of this family. Yes. Thank you, Ashley. I. It's exciting to see you.
Starting point is 00:03:11 So nice to see you too. So this episode, I rate it very highly. Maybe my favorite episode of Paradise this season. What are you about you? I, you know, I was, uh, it was like drinking through a fire hose because there was so much going on in this episode, which I was kind of like of the mindset where I was like, oh my God, how much more can they squeeze into this thing? And it was kind of crazy. So yeah, for me, I won't say it was one of my favorites, but I will say it was definitely, there was a lot going on. And so in that regard, I found it pretty interesting. I think I was really starting to root for couples. And when I say couples, I really mean one. Who is your, before I reveal my
Starting point is 00:03:56 favorite who's your favorite couple right now who do you feel is the most genuine and long term well god it's tough because my favorite couple was still uh keith and kathy which i know is not going to be i just i love that they have like just taken on the role of being like counselor to everyone which i kind of thought might happen um but you know i found myself today for whatever reason finding the whole um spencer and uh and uh is it spencer and jess yeah that that yeah i found them to be a lot more interesting today but i actually started rooting for andrew and alex more today exactly that was me i was like okay wait they're a serious couple and i care about their well-being yeah they're the ones that i'm rooting to go all the way there's um a friendship foundation there for
Starting point is 00:04:47 sure. I think that they are going in the right direction upward. And I think Jess and Spencer, perhaps they're putting a little like storyline of doubt. And maybe it's not that big of a deal. But I just try to put myself in my, in the position that I was in. If Jared during Bachelor in Paradise was ever like, I'm ready to move in in three months, I would have been like, yeah. Yeah. See, that's the thing that what's so crazy is like, first of all, I don't know. I've been with Canyon for 13 years. And we have been, we're married and we have kids and we live together, of course. And I don't think I've ever said those things to her. Like, I don't think I ever said, okay, my plan is we're going to have kids in about, you know, three years. But that's kind of long for me. Then I definitely want to have us living together immediately upon, you know, leaving this island. I'm just like, like, what dude does this? You know, it's kind of a lot. Not a lot of guys, but I know that if I liked somebody enough, and there's so many different personalities, so I'm speaking for myself and not for her. She seemed freaked out by it, and if I was totally in love with someone, I would, I would be kind of all in on his plan. He does want to move fast, and he also, there was also the part where he's like, I am in love with her, and she,
Starting point is 00:06:15 It says that she's not ready to say that yet. Well, what's crazy, though, was like, I swear to God, two weeks ago, she was the one who was like, this is our last ever first date. And, you know, like, I remember, like, when they got the date. And she's like, this is, this was our first date. And it's going to be the last ever first date, either one of us ever have. Like, she started this. So then for him to be now, like, reacting to that and responding to that.
Starting point is 00:06:37 And for her to act like, she's scared to death of it is almost kind of like, what the hell, lady? This is what you said you wanted. And now he's giving it to you and you're freaking out. you know yeah yeah but yeah so with alex and and i was going to say the reason why i liked what was going on there so much was it was like they were both too timid to tell each other they were falling in love and then she's like oh my god i'm gonna be the first one to do this oh my god and he goes hold on hold on i'm falling in love with you like he what i really liked about that
Starting point is 00:07:08 was he was like protecting her you know and like you don't have to say it first i'll say it you know which i thought was really sweet it was so cute Maybe I also find them to be like the most relatable. They're both a little bit like, I wouldn't say awkward. Maybe sometimes she's awkward, but in a very endearing, not like, ooh, cringy awkward, but like an adorable endearing awkward. I just feel like there's just like a lot of genuine goodness in between them. And I don't even consider Dale and Kat to like be like an actual option here. and I guess neither do I think Jeremy and Bailey
Starting point is 00:07:46 because both of them we've seen on camera have struggles before and like their struggles that I'm not like I don't think they were overcome I think they were truly brushed aside with Dale and Kat he said some crazy stuff about her she did not trust him they both made each other worried
Starting point is 00:08:07 like they both had traits that they so worried about and somehow like it was sweeped away It was swept away. And same with Jeremy and Bailey. Like, we just know that he was all after Susie. Susie. And, like, she forgave him for that. And I don't know that the audience ever really trusted that he is as in on Bailey as he says he is.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting. There's definitely a lot of, like, I almost feel like that. You know how, like, the formulaic version of the batch. I mean, I'm going back a long ways, like back when I was The Bachelor, they would always make you think, and it was editing, it was, it was, but they would always make you think the runner-up was the one who was going to be the woman that got the ring, right? And so you were almost disappointed when you would watch the show and you'd see the other person get the ring. You're like, oh, well, I thought it was going to be Debbie, you know? And it's almost like they're doing that with Dale and Kat to us right now. Like, they're pushing them so hard on us that I'm like, something's going to blow up on this. Like, the wheels are coming off this at some point. I I just don't know when. And, you know, it's kind of like waiting for this all to happen. But the only reason I'm, I'm just a skeptic.
Starting point is 00:09:19 So it's like when I watch the show, I'm always thinking that they're manipulating me somehow, some way. We've also seen them in like relationships in the past that have blown up in a sort of toxic way. Yeah. You know, where it was just like, oh, it wasn't we really with kindness, would like to separate, blah, blah, blah. Like, it was just like, we respect our privacy at this time. Yeah. There was none of that.
Starting point is 00:09:42 they're two really big egos too i love cat like i think she's the greatest reality star but i also just like know that the two of them together are just too big and together they're going to have too big of problems this is just my two cents but based on what i watched on tv all right so let's get into the specifics about this episode first challenge loved it one of my one of my one of the like group update, challenges, whatever, that, like, truly can tell you about someone. Oh, yeah. They have to go glamping. They have to set up a campsite.
Starting point is 00:10:22 So they have to, like, supposedly set up their home. And this is going to, this is great. Yeah, that working together and trying to put something together physically is a great test of compatibility. Well, and it's hot as hell. They're sweating. There's bugs everywhere. There's cow crap.
Starting point is 00:10:42 horse crap all over the place. It's like, you know, anything that they can do to make it uncomfortable they're doing. And these people have to figure out, you know, everything's broken, right? Chairs are broken, you know, so they're seeing, is this guy going to be a gentleman in this moment or is he going to be like, you know, I'll take the not broken chair? Yeah. It's like, yeah. It's interesting to watch.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It's funny because then they have, you know, unbeknownst to them, they have a relationship expert watching the whole thing unfold and, you know, taking notes on how the whole thing kind of plays out, which I thought was pretty interesting because, you know, they obviously forgot they were on a reality show, which, by the way, I have been loving all the little Chiron things where they're like, you know, buffering when someone. I think they even said to someone, you know, like, I think it was, it might have been Alex who was like, you know, I can't believe they had a relationship counselor there. And they were watching us the whole time. We didn't know it. And all of a sudden, her thing under her name says forgot she was on a reality show. Exactly. But also, I love that
Starting point is 00:11:42 they're breaking the fourth wall and, like, referring to the show a lot that I like, it's tongue and cheek and. Yep, I liked it too. That was interesting, though. But you're right. It was kind of crazy because it's a barn burner hot out there. Cat, I honestly think this date was specifically designed to make cat lose her mind. Like, they were probably like, you know, we kind of need the old cat back.
Starting point is 00:12:03 She's been too chill on this season. We got to get her back to her meltdown moments. Let's throw some bugs in the mix. I swear that's how it feels to me. Bugs. They're not that bad, cat. but apparently bad phobia. Dale does keep it together, respect.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Alex and Andrew, the kiss conversation was funny. It was funny. And I didn't think, I understand what the relationship specialist, expert is saying about, like, their chemistry. But sometimes, I don't know, what do you think? Do they need to be, like, burning hot chemistry at that point? No. Or can't be, like, flirty, fun banter. I think that's what's more fun.
Starting point is 00:12:43 Yeah, I know. Like what I think that lady saw in them that she, you know, she thought other stuff was more, I don't know, more important for relationship development. So I'm wondering where they found this lady. But I feel like, honestly, what they have going is way more natural. I mean, they've only been there two weeks, right? And neither of them have been there the whole time, I don't think. I don't know if they did it were or not a can't remember the first couple. even like a couple days later.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Yeah. So it's like, you know, what? We're maybe at 14 days max at this point, you know? And it's like, so the fact that they're still finding things out about each other, they're not that comfortable in every circumstance, they're sort of, you know, but here they are in this super, what I thought was really endearing was they're in this super awkward sweat bug-fueled, you know, horse poop thing. And they're actually sitting there kissing and being,
Starting point is 00:13:39 affectionate with each other and they're playing like a game about it which i thought was kind of cute you know it's almost like they're playing spin the bottle with each other and there's only two people there and it was i thought that was kind of sweet you know and i think that's kind of why i really started like i doubled down after that relationship counts i was like oh f this lady man like that's my people like what are you doing i got like angry i was like okay okay i guess i see what you're talking about but also i don't think it's a big deal because like i said i mean i'm obviously speaking from a place where I start out as friends and I
Starting point is 00:14:10 were related to the moment and like you can tell it's like flirty banter. I thought she was going to say you guys are open about physical chemistry and you're communicating about that and that's a good thing. Yeah. I gotta be honest you and I are on the same page right now because
Starting point is 00:14:25 I actually thought she was going to praise them a little bit for maybe rip on him a little bit because you know when she's she was right you know Alex is saying well here's what I would like and he's like No, no. If it's my last kiss on earth, I'm going for us. And I thought that was actually pretty funny. But I get it. Like, you know, you got to be respectful of your partner's wishes and and stuff like that. But at the same time, I don't know. I found it to be... I did interpret the way she
Starting point is 00:14:50 did. Yeah, I didn't either. I didn't either. I didn't either. I didn't either. You know what, though? I have this thing. Like, I always... This is going to be horrible. And some people are going to not like me saying this. But I always think, you know, isn't it weird that like every relationship expert has like a completely jacked up home life. You know what I mean? Like every single one of them to be like, you know, every single time. Like if you go in and if you do a little deep dive, the matchmakers are all single, you know, but they know what's best for everyone.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And then all these people that sit back and the armchair quarterback and just just shred people and you're like, what are you got going on at home? You know, are you happily married? Exactly. And she describes how Dale has superhero syndrome, which I think that Jared has. a lot of the time where it's like I know I do all the good things and be like perfect but not like for himself not for his own ego like he truly wants to provide for his family and then when it's not like received the way it's supposed to be it's we get pissed we get a little bothered
Starting point is 00:15:55 and we almost get frustrated like I'm telling you I suffer from this too so when she said that I was like why why am I all of a sudden a subject on the show like why should talking about me. But I like I go through with Canyon like I literally will be the one who like I will go like I will go two and a half miles out of my way to make sure that everything else is done perfectly even though she's perfectly capable. She could do it. I need to be the one that gets it done and I want it to be done a certain way and I want everyone to think it's the greatest thing on earth. And then when they don't think it's the greatest thing on earth or when they make suggestions about how else it could have been done, I'd be like, well, I just did this without even being asked. And you're like,
Starting point is 00:16:34 This is all acts of service people. If you're an acts of service for love language person, this is usually how like your interpretation is. Whereas like, Jared, say I wake up and he took hated in the morning because he woke up early and then he did the dishes and he did, you know, he straightened up and all that. I'm so appreciate it. Like I appreciate it. I'm like, oh my gosh, thank you. It's so nice. But to me, it doesn't speak love.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Like that's not romantic love because that's not my love language. So it's, you know, it's all a balance. And the doctor giving them the challenge prize to me seemed stagy. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. Maybe that was because they, I mean, maybe because she was just melting down so badly. Well, yeah. And what's actually, you know what, you're right. Let me not jump to stagey.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I think it was probably because it was the most extreme situation that was like happening. and he did deal with it with a lot of patience. That's what she said. She made it seem like maybe as a couple they're not the strongest, but in that situation, they excelled given their traits. I think that's true. I think that's probably why.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Yeah. They haven't had a date on the show. Oh, since the both. Yeah, they did on the first one. So they've kind of been, you know, 16 days ago. I mean, just sort of grinding away, you know, this whole experience. They haven't really gone anywhere, done anything.
Starting point is 00:18:02 I don't know. It's interesting. It'll be interesting to see what happens. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
Starting point is 00:18:27 He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now hold up, isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him?
Starting point is 00:18:46 Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel. Writer Strong. And Will Ferdell from PodMeets World. And we're bringing you Viva Las Content. That's right.
Starting point is 00:19:10 We are back in Las Vegas, the city of sin, and giving the people what they want. A full week of Y2K content. Wait, we're back in Vegas? Tell me, Y. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Boy band, please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross, joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order Criminal Justice System is back. In Season 2, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight.
Starting point is 00:20:50 That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the on-purpose podcast, and today I'm joined by one of the greatest athletes of all time, Novak Djokovic. The world's number one, mild tennis player. He's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career. Novak Djokovic!
Starting point is 00:21:22 You've been through so many injuries, losses. Oh, he's going himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose? I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic? It's a consistent practice. It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing.
Starting point is 00:21:43 It requires more responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle. When you reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement. I'm 38 this year. How far can I go? How long can I push my own limits? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Have you ever wished for a change but weren't sure how to make it? Maybe you felt stuck in a job, a place, or even a relationship.

I'm Gretchen Whitmer, Jody Sweeten. Monica Patton. Elaine Welter-A. I'm Jessica Voss. And that's when I was like, I got to go. I don't know how, but that kicked off. the pivot of how to make the transition.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Learn how to get comfortable pivoting because your life is going to be full of them. Every episode gets real about the why behind these changes and gives you the inspiration and maybe the push to make your next pivot. Listen to these women and more on She Pivots, now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Okay, I have to put you on to these leggings that I've been obsessed with lately. They're from this brand called Tona, and get this, the designer behind them also created Lulu Lemon, so they know what they're doing. These leggings are next level. Think buttery soft, super flattering, and very comfortable. But they're also very supportive in the right places. So I started wearing them when the kids and I go out to play, and now I'm basically living in them 24-7. And here's what makes them even better with every. every payer you buy. It helps fund a mental health counseling session for a teen in need. Isn't that so awesome? Tona is on a mission to end teen suicide and self-harm, which we think is so important and so incredible of them. So we partnered with Tona to give you 20% off your order and free shipping. So head to Tonaactive.com. That is T-O-N-A-A-A-A-Cive.com and use code iHeart for 20% sent off in free shipping.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Jeremy and Bailey, let's talk about them. He says in an interview that during the camping put together that he can tell that Bailey loves him. He could see the look in her eyes. And then he says that he could see himself getting there. Yeah. There's just something about
Starting point is 00:24:18 the dude that I don't trust. And I, like, cringe at the moment that he'll come on this podcast. And I'm like, hey, really hard on you. Don't know. I just don't know if we're like compatible as people like we're not vibing yeah we're not vibing yeah I know it's crazy it is interesting because I feel like um I I'm at this point where in in I get made fun of by my wife for this a lot that that I'm like literally rooting for everyone like I want everyone to be who I hope
Starting point is 00:24:51 they're going to be right and and so now I'm sort of like almost making excuses for everything everyone has done or said in the past like i mean i've even said like you know well you know i know know that dale and claire had a had a horrible blow up but you know we're seeing a different side of dale and maybe maybe this is who he is now i mean you know he did say tonight that he knows what his love language is like i'm just making excuses for everyone you know oh that's so sweet bob that's really awesome it's horrible it's a horrible it's great it's embarrassing that i'm like i can get bamboozled so quickly by people but i'm hopeful that maybe this guy is you know, maybe it was just an errant comment about Susie and maybe he really didn't.
Starting point is 00:25:31 I don't know. I don't know what to think. I'm like losing it. What do you think about him right now? Like, where's your head at with them? There's not been a lot of evolution there. It's just, I guess, vibes. And it could just be the fact that I am so rooting for Andrew and Alex now that like everybody
Starting point is 00:25:47 else might get out of the way. But also, Jess and Spencer, like, you got to root for them. we see that Dale and Kat get this beach date where basically they're just like it's all worth it like this is solidified what I needed he did say a big thing here though he said you feel like home to which I was like wow that's big I was impressed I was impressed
Starting point is 00:26:14 I don't know you know you've heard like I mean we all you know hear um you know the rumors that there's something going on that's something you know there's something coming up around the corner. I mean, I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but if you watch the previews for the next episode, for the finale, it looks like it gets pretty ugly. And I feel like, I don't know, I just feel like if you're someone who's playing this game, because you didn't know there was 500 grand at the end of the, at the end of this thing when I started, if you're, you're not someone who's going that hard on these moments that you know are going to come back to haunt you,
Starting point is 00:26:47 right? And I feel like Dale and Kat are seriously into each other right now, like watching them on that beach date. Like, they were, I'm sorry, man. I got to say it. Like, I felt like, wow, maybe they are a real couple. And here I've been doubting it, you know? I don't know. But you're right.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Like, I'm so rooting for Andrew and Alex, too, that I feel like, you know, part of me doesn't have room for anybody else. I'm just like, you know, no, I'm good. You guys don't need to move up. Just stay there on the beach. You're fine. Yeah. Plus, Wells.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Oh, my God. Wells is, like, really delivered over the past few weeks. He's been so great on this show. exactly what we need him to say. They go, who won the date? Andrew, you know, who won the date? They go, no, no. Everybody just starts laughing.
Starting point is 00:27:31 So he's clearly made it known that he is not a fan of that couple right now. Exactly. Oh my gosh. It's so funny. Like, also, can we talk about the dates being really silly? Like, basically they just got drinks out of like this parrot pineapple. And there was really nothing there that they couldn't have just done back at the resort. It was basically the same as sitting in a cabana.
Starting point is 00:27:51 If you know, the budget's been cut, you know, incredibly by, over the last two episodes. They're not allowed to go peruse and Costa Rica. We're not even going to take you on a boat ride. You guys are going to sit on this beach and just chill out. And here, here's a pair of pineapple. Enjoy yourself. Yeah, there's not, they definitely have cut back on the swankiness of the last couple date parties. Yeah, so funny. Okay. Now we have the conversation as far as like going in order of the episode. We have the conversation between Justice Spencer, which we kind of already broke down. There is an age gap. there where she's pretty young she wants to be having kids by her 30 i'm not sure what age she is now but he says that would be a little late for him but she did say what the thing was is she said
Starting point is 00:28:34 at the very latest 30 so like it's up for yeah it well okay it's up for discussion it's up for discussion then i mean honestly once you're in a relationship your timelines change considerably when you're both in the same place right so it's like right now they don't even live together so i get it like you're talking about having kids and be like, dude, we live in, I mean, I'm assuming they live in different cities. I don't even know. They do. It's Texas and California. Yeah. So, oh my God, they're on opposite ends of the world. It feels like, you know, from that perspective. So it's like, at the end of the day, it's like, yeah, I mean, I get it. You know, if he's 32 and she's probably what, like 24, maybe, 25. She's like 25, yeah. So she's thinking seven years,
Starting point is 00:29:13 that's going to make him 40. Bro, that's a baby to me. I mean, I didn't have my, he's 32. Oh, he's 32. Oh, okay. Yeah. So seven years, you know, so that would make him 39. Shah. I didn't have my first kid that was 48, bro. Get over it.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Bob, only like, like, I'm watching you right now speak. And there's no way in the world that you register as like older dad. You look and sound and present all over normal age dad. You're so sweet, Ashley. That's why you've always been my favorite. Well, I will tell you. you, I, after this past weekend where I went out three nights in a row, which I haven't done in quite some time, I felt all of the old dad vibes. Like, I was like, where's my walker?
Starting point is 00:30:00 Then tonight I come home and my wife's like, oh, yeah, we're going to have a play date with so-and-so, so-and-so, because they didn't get to see them all weekend, which I totally understood, but then all of a sudden the home is invaded by a herd of people, and I'm like, dude. Like, I love them. They're my favorite family, my favorite couple of hanging out with, but I was like so shocked because I didn't know. And I was like, I kind of thought I wasn't going to do anything tonight. But now I'm back at it again. You know, I might as well have a high noon.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Let's go. You know, you're like I'm a hundred. No, no, no, no. You've definitely, I feel like you have a lot more stamina than I do. Well, thanks. Okay, so let's talk about the cocktail party where basically people need to figure out who's going to go home. It's pretty obvious that it'll be between Jonathan and Leah or Keith and Kathy. and at this point, the stakes don't feel high
Starting point is 00:30:52 because it's going to be one of them now and one of them later. Right, right. Yeah, exactly. It ends up being Jonathan and Leia and that's because Dale gets the last say because they were the winner and there was a tie in the vote. And he was like, he was after my girl. So he's saying by now, like they obviously never really got along. And then he also was talking about
Starting point is 00:31:19 if you don't vote off who you really think is, you know, the weakest link, you never know what's going to, like, actually end up happening. Like, how are they going to play with the game later on? Yeah. Well, and I thought that was interesting because, you know, you never know what these challenges are going to be either. So, I mean, at the end of the day, you know, Kathy and Keith might not be the weakest link, right? So they're thinking, but I also think part of it was, you know, the people that voted for Keith and Kathy were voting. because Keith, I mean, it was very sweet. And Keith got emotional talking about it being homesick and wanting to see his girls and they're getting ready to go camping anyway or something like that. And at the end of the day, I mean, I would probably think, man, this dude needs to go home. I get it, you know. But then all of a sudden he changed his mind. And he was like, I think I'm willing to stick around for another week.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Somebody was probably like, don't we. Some of the production was like, hey, it's not really weak. It's another day. If you could get through one more night, it'd probably be. Trust me, bro. We can have you on a plane tomorrow afternoon. Just get through tonight. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:32:25 I'm sure that's probably part of it too. But yeah, it's not like it's unfolding in real time. I mean, you know, it's the eighth rose ceremony and it's only day 19. So if anybody's doing the math at home, that's not eight weeks, right? That's about, you know, a day and a half per rose. A lot can happen in a short amount of time there. Yeah. That being said, they go home.
Starting point is 00:32:48 and the next day they have another challenge the sharp they called sharp opinions and it's about stabbing daggers and one's back Jesse ends up asking questions like
Starting point is 00:33:01 who's still talking to an ex who is most likely to get on the nerves of their significant other because their child like antics it was an interesting it was interesting
Starting point is 00:33:16 it wasn't as backstabby as I would have thought It wasn't like they were really talking shit behind their back. Right. I think it would be kind of a, I mean, now it's down to what, eight people. Yeah, it was anonymous. That's why it wasn't so harsh to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:31 But then all of a sudden, I would be like, God, dude, that kind of hurts to think. So I don't know if there's, first of all, I'm pretty good with math, right? So if I'm seeing six daggers in my back from one thing, I'm like, okay, pretty sure everybody here except my dude or my chick. didn't throw a knife of my back on that one because it looked like I mean on a couple of those like even Andrew
Starting point is 00:33:53 on the first one the childlike behavior one I thought I don't know I must have missed where that was coming from but that was pretty much like him right
Starting point is 00:34:02 they said Alex and Andrew got the most on that one and then the next was trust issues that was Cat and Dale yeah then I took notes this is how interesting this was to me
Starting point is 00:34:12 the biggest oh what was this the biggest codependent Jess and Spencer that's probably pretty true Justin's definitely a definitely name on her too. Oh, for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:27 My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?
Starting point is 00:35:12 To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart Radio app, podcast or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Danielle Fischel. Rider Strong. And Wilfredel from PodMeets World. And we're bringing you Viva Las Content. That's right. We are back in Las Vegas, the city of sin, and giving the people what they want.
Starting point is 00:35:33 A full week of Y2K content. Wait, we're back in Vegas? Tell me, Y. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band. Boy band,
Starting point is 00:35:52 please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur. Ashley Simpson-Ross joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas
Starting point is 00:36:08 residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the I-Heart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you your podcasts. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport.
Starting point is 00:36:27 The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal, glad. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene.
Starting point is 00:36:52 In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order Criminal Justice System is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the on-purpose podcast,
Starting point is 00:37:27 and today I'm joined by one of the greatest athletes of all-time Novak Djokovic. The world's number one, mild tennis player. He's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career. Novak Djokovic! You've been through so many injuries, losses. I always heard himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose?
Starting point is 00:37:49 I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic? It's a consistent practice. It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle. When you reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement. I'm 38 this year.
Starting point is 00:38:12 How far can I go? How long can I push my own limits? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Have you ever wished for a change but weren't sure how to make it? Maybe you felt stuck in a job, a place, or even a relationship.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I'm Emily Tish Sussman, and on she pivots, I dive into the inspiring pivots of women who have taken big leaps in their lives and careers. I'm Gretchen Whitmer, Jody Sweetie. Monica Patton. Elaine Welterah. I'm Jessica Voss. And that's when I was like, I got to go.
Starting point is 00:38:45 I don't know how, but that kicked off the pivot of how to make the transition. Learn how to get comfortable pivoting because your life is going to be full of them. Every episode gets real about the why behind these changes and gives you the inspiration and maybe the push to make your next pivot. Listen to these women and more on She Pivots, now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Talking to an ex, and this one went to Jeremy. So this was seemed weird because we have heard there's rumors around the internet and such that Kat had snuck an iPad in and she was texting an ex. Yeah. They either didn't flash to the right back when saying this, when like airing this, or it's just a rumor.
Starting point is 00:39:42 So we'll see because if she was truly texting somebody in an iPad, I think that would have come out here. Well, if it hasn't come out, it looks like the Paradise Parliament or whatever is coming back in the next episode. It's coming out if there's anything going on because that dude's pissed. I know. That's Sean, dude. He's like fired up, man. Yeah. What I thought was weird was that Kathy and Keith actually didn't win this challenge.
Starting point is 00:40:12 I thought they would have the least daggers because, like, all the questions didn't seem to be directed towards them. Right. They also seemed to be directed towards younger people. Although when they went to the Who Doesn't deserve to be here, it looked like, it looked like Keith might have gotten every one of them. I guess when it comes down to it, they got that. And then Andrew and Alex ended up winning, but they did get that childish dagger. Yeah. So they end up winning, which, you know, you and I both read the sigh of relief.
Starting point is 00:40:42 I didn't think they were actually going to be in danger, but it's nice going into the rose ceremony knowing that they're going to be safe, but we don't get to see the rose ceremony here. We do see them kind of pairing up, though, talking alliances, because they're going to be eliminating two couples, and it's going to be the last rose ceremony. So we're going to get down to three serious couples, which means that one of the series, we know that Kathy and Keith. they're leaving, Kathy and Keith, are really being so, so sweet because Keith is saying, hey, I'm eliminating us. You know, we will not be going forward for the money,
Starting point is 00:41:22 which is really, really so sweet. He also knows there's no chance of them winning here, but he said, and it was the most endearing thing, I've watched all episodes, all seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, and this show is about love, and that's what I want to root for, not money. Then we see, like, you know, everybody talking alliances and whatnot,
Starting point is 00:41:41 But what I want to talk about as we wrap up this episode is what Jesse says in the teaser. He says, you guys have all, like, known that there's money involved at the end of this. But you do have to choose between love and money. Yeah. You know, it's so interesting to figure out what the hell this show is at this point. Because, you know, I even said at the beginning, a couple weeks ago when they first started talking about the money, I was like, oh, I wonder if there's going to be like a for love or money spin on this thing. And I brought up the Bachelor Pad, how the one dude chose, you know, to keep it instead of share it. And he was a villain, but he, you know, he made money.
Starting point is 00:42:20 And it's interesting because now here comes that twist, right, where it's really going to be a circumstance where, you know, let's be honest, man. If, if Jeremy, let's say hypothetically, it's Jeremy and Bailey at the end. And Jeremy's like, I know that Bailey is into me and loving me, but I'm not there yet. I mean, does he choose money? Does she choose love? Like, and then what happens? Jeremy is choosing money in this situation. Oh, my God, no doubt, right? And then he's Colin Suzy. Dale might even be choosing money. Cat might be choosing money. Yeah. I don't, I do think that, and I think that Alex and Andrew, and I don't mean to like just pump them up so much. But I think they're going to be the ones that would have the most ethical
Starting point is 00:43:04 dilemma if it comes down to them being the champions and having to choose between one or the other. Now, it's all about appearances in my opinion here because it's a different world than it was I even think during Bachelor Pab I think just because of exposure and reality
Starting point is 00:43:20 TV and like us kind of all of us, not just you and I who have been involved with it, kind of see beyond the curtain a little bit more now. Right. Yeah. Even the casual viewer who's really into the love element of Bachelor is going to be like, guys, you take the money and then you meet off camera
Starting point is 00:43:39 and you can get married. No one says you can't stay together, you know? Nobody says you can't be together. I wonder if Jesse's going to say there's like a thing where if we catch you being together within a year of this show, you can't do that. You can't enforce that. No, you can't. I mean, I would think at the end of the day, if it came down to somebody, you know, for love,
Starting point is 00:44:04 or for money and and and I mean first of all if they both say so here's here's here's the thing which I know we'll find out we'll find out next week but what if they both say for love and they're the winning couple does that mean no one gets that money my guess is this it's going to be kind of like beauty in the beast yeah if you fall in love you will get something in if you like make them fall in love when there's I don't know how to describe this. You know how Beauty and the Beast works. He got her to fall in love with him as a beast. And then she got her treat, which was, he was a very handsome prince.
Starting point is 00:44:45 So I'm thinking that maybe if they end up saying we choose love, that's the ticket to actually getting the money. To get the money. Oh, my God, that'd be amazing, wouldn't it? Yeah. That would be amazing. Because I would like that more personally because it's like, to me, the money element, somebody walking off of this show with 500 grand.
Starting point is 00:45:04 and breaking someone else's heart. You and I know that this show has never been this generous. 500 grand. That is hundreds, hundreds, 400,000 at least more than they've ever paid their lead. Right, right, yeah. That is a ton of money. You know, they don't fly us first class or anything like that. Like, what?
Starting point is 00:45:29 They have this money sitting around. This got to be some twist. And they got to be planning on. splitting it halvesies at the end somehow some way for that couple i don't know it'll be interesting to see what happens for sure but i mean man some some of the best relationships have come out of the bachelor in paradise and i feel like this could be another one you never know and let me just blow up their spot a little bit more Alex and Andrew there's something about looking at the two of them together that i'm like you guys look like you're supposed to be together yeah they really
Starting point is 00:46:03 Just knowing them from separate shows, I feel like they were meant to meet here. I love that. I think that they really could be the next great Bachelor love story. And I'm sorry for ignoring the Jess and Spencer of it all. I feel like Jess and Spencer, there's an inkling inside me that just says they could be like the Carly and Kirk of this season. Yes. So it's like the entire season, everybody thinks they're going to end up together. And I think that they will end up together, but I don't think that they're serious enough.
Starting point is 00:46:33 to be in an end an engagement do you think that anybody will end here in engagement cat is already on us saying is she will not yeah well yeah cat there's no way cat yeah she's been there done that um and you know one wants to be like you know ross from friends where you get like you know engaged or married 64 times but i do think that i when i look at it i'm i'm with you on this because i don't i don't get the vibe from anybody else except Andrew and Alex that they're that they're hitting their stride at the right time. Yes. Like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:47:08 Like I think, I think Jess and, um, uh, God, I can't want my like, Jared Spencer. Yeah. I keep forgetting his name too for some reason. Yeah. And he's like insanely into her. And it's like, you know, but it's like they peaked too early, I feel. I feel like cat and Dale, cat and Dale are just like, you know, the king and queen of the prom.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Yeah, I'm still, I'm still scared about that. Yeah. For sure. They're like hot in high school and it makes. oh yeah and then you've got the other ones which i know we keep like totally just ignoring them but they're there's they're not there either right jeremy jeremy's just something's off something's off there bailey seems so sweet she's too good yeah yeah she and she's being i feel i hope i hope i'm wrong but it feels like she's being played a little bit and but i don't think jeremy i
Starting point is 00:47:56 honestly don't i don't know why but i don't think jeremy is doing it maliciously i think he's in the moment he wanted to redeem himself because that Susie thing might have just been a thing. Here I go again, making excuses for everyone. But I feel like, I feel like underneath it all, he's not in this situation to hurt her. Like, you can tell he cares about her. I think at this point, it's not even appropriate for them to leave, you know, because they still like each other. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:21 And we're still not even done eliminating the people that don't like each other, aka Kathy and Keith. Right. And now, now, of course, with the two eliminations, yes, we are down to the, this is, this would start to be the appropriate time for them to leave if he is not like getting to be in the love point i do like the way that this seems like there won't be any sort of pressure to be get engaged right i think i've named this stat before but i think half of all married bachelor in paradise couples did not get engaged in paradise yeah yeah i think if not more wow of of the people who are married from paradise didn't get engaged there yeah yeah so it's good take that stress off the table well and it's like you know
Starting point is 00:49:03 Neil Lane gets a lot of camera time. He's good. Neil Lane's good. We don't need to be throwing out, unless they're getting $500,000 worth of Neil Lane rings, you know, and that's what the whole prize is. There is some catch to this, right?
Starting point is 00:49:16 It's going to be the biggest Neil Lane ring we've ever seen in our lives. It's just like one giant, it's like a hat with a giant diamond on. I don't know. It's going to be interesting because I feel like, to me, I mean, the money part of it, I get it. it was introduced to kind of, you know, bring that whole, a new twist to the show and all that
Starting point is 00:49:38 kind of stuff. But part of me is hopeful that there is some type of love that comes from the show because that's always been kind of the magic of it, you know, is that whole fairy tale ending that everybody loves, you know, and I wouldn't mind seeing that. I believe that the twist, the final episode, it's all going to come together and prove that the show really is about love. over money yeah that would be pretty sweet it looks like it gets pretty it looks like it gets pretty dicey next week i mean that the previews obviously they're bringing back you know it's
Starting point is 00:50:11 kind of like survivor right they're bringing i mean they are combining so many shows under this new format they're they're bringing back the whole cast they're gonna be like you know you're the tribe spoken we're getting that element coming up with the parliament uh paradise parliament um but we're also getting you know basically there's going to be there's going to be some people thrown under the bus because it looks like hysterics ensue. I mean, it looks like, you know, obviously, we know that Keith and Kathy are going home. And then who's the couple that you think of the four would be on the choppy block? Like, which one do you think would be the next one to go home?
Starting point is 00:50:44 I do. I think it'll be Bailey and Jeremy because of all the things we've said, but also because of the parliament. And I think the parliament's going to bring up a lot about the suit. stuff. I also think that they're going to get at Cat. It seems like Alicia. I'm sorry that I cannot ever say her name. Alicia. Alicia. Like Alicia Silverstone. She seems like to have a vendetta against Kat and she's coming in hot.
Starting point is 00:51:16 And so does Sean. Yeah. Yeah, they're fired up. I mean, they have definitely been, they've probably spent some time with the producers on their three days since they've been off the ranch. And they probably have just been getting so fired up about how to settle the score when they come back in there. So it's going to be, you know, it's definitely going to be some fireworks for sure. And it's funny tonight, you know, so my brother-in-law and a few of my buddies that I was with this weekend, they are avid, avid Bachelor and Paradise fans. And they literally all dudes, like their wives don't even watch the show.
Starting point is 00:51:49 And they're like, they're like texting me all night, we don't want any spoilers. Don't tell us anything. You know, we know you've seen the show. I'm like, actually, I haven't. We're watching it later tonight. They're like, oh, my God. Well, we're not going to tell you anything then, because we don't want to influence your podcast.
Starting point is 00:52:05 I'm just like, you guys are fools. But anyway, they're so into the show. And they're like, I mean, after the, you know, they show the previews for next week or whatever. I'm just getting blown up. Oh, my God, this is happening. This is going to be a reckoning. Things are going down next week, guys.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Yeah, are you getting this? Because we're recording this at 10.30 p.m. Eastern. Like your text should be rolling in about now. Oh, they're rolling. They're rolling. Yeah, I'm watching it blow up my phone right now as we speak. I'm just like, oh, my God. All right.
Starting point is 00:52:36 So fun, so funny. Bachelor Bob, I'll never not call you Bachelor Bob. Thank you so much for joining us. This was really fun. I love your insight. And until next time, I've been Ashley. I've been Bob. Bye.
