Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On The Look Back at It Podcasts. In 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me.
Starting point is 00:00:39 I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show. This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard,
Starting point is 00:01:27 but celebrated. So let's get to it. Listen to the Clifford show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway
Starting point is 00:01:42 with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor? It signals to the world that you're not to be played with. And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Kelly Callan Ben-Seron from I Do Part 2. We are on the hunt for finding love in our second chapter. We are here with Holly Sullum, who is an amazing TikTok creator on Manth Row. apology. She's teaching us everything about who men are and what they like. Holly, give us some insight and tell us some tips on some of the questions that we should be asking men on dates. Well, I mean, if you want to get straight to the heart of things, if you ask a man, why are you like this or like, why are men like this? And if they get offended, that's a really good time that he's a
Starting point is 00:03:11 weirdo. Like, it shouldn't be offensive. It's that defensive thing again. Like, why are you getting defensive over this, like, benign, silly question? I think being really, like, straightforward and blunt has, like, really served me really well because you really just get to, like, I ask things that you're not supposed to ask, uh, because it just is, it, it, it either, either people find you amusing and they'll play along and they'll answer directly or they'll get offensive or they'll get offended and then you'll realize like this is not not good this person's trying to hide something i mean i ask men on the street like are you rich i'll just ask anything let me see your bank account do you have an amics and so many guys think it's really funny
Starting point is 00:04:05 and that's what you want yeah it's supposed to be funny and playful. It must be like kind of like a double-edged sword because on the one, I mean, because you are beautiful and then you're asking these like provocative questions, they're kind of like, wait, what? And I'm sure that they're really like, they really must really, really like you. I mean, it's just that is like, that is crazy. They want to stay in chat, but then they're like, oh, why do I have?
Starting point is 00:04:34 Yeah, you're like, no, no, no. Filming's over. It was 30 seconds. Sorry. I only have one question. I got my clip. Bye. I got my clip.
Starting point is 00:04:43 You're fantastic. Viral. Thank you. I know. I'm like, oh, how did I end up in a position where I'm like chasing around men trying to get them to be mean to me on camera? Be mean. Yeah, be an asshole, please.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Oh, my God. Why do you think the guys want to date these younger? I'm stuck on the younger, though. I mean, because I date, I'm 57. actually I had a birthday, excuse me, I'm 58. Happy birthday. I just lied about my age. See? Malaya. Don't lie. I'm 58. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:05:17 But, you know, I mean, I never lie about my age. First of all I can't because maybe all you do is just Google me and you'll be like, I know how old you are. And I wouldn't want to anyway. But I had my assistant put me on Hinge and he put me as 10 years younger. And he's like, well, you look 10 years younger. And I'm like, but I'm not 10 years younger. And is that probably just to get path?
Starting point is 00:05:40 Because, you know, people set their age limits. And I think so many men think that a woman in her 40s or 50s is like gross and washed up. And then they meet you and they're like, oh, you're super hot. And then they're like, oh, my God, you're in your 50s. Like their mind explodes. Like they can't understand that like we're, we're hot. Like that's not, it's not what we're not these like. grandmas that they grew up watching on TV portrayed in the, you know, 70s.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I think it's mostly older men that think older women are gross. And it's younger men understand that that's not the case. You should date younger men. That's my advice to all women, especially just all women. Just date younger men. These old guys, like, we don't want them. No, no. I mean, I definitely, I don't mind older.
Starting point is 00:06:36 I just don't like grump or cheap. No, grump, no cheap. No, I mean, I think it's just like a total misconception. I think they're just don't. I think they're completely confused and they have no idea. And then there's also the fact that like if a man is insecure or if he feels, you know, somehow insufficient, a younger woman maybe will not notice as many of his. flaws. So is there a time of day that you do these interviews because I'm just wondering if you find
Starting point is 00:07:13 like that hotter guys are out like in the morning getting coffee or if they're like done with work and like I'm just wondering like is there a time of day? I mean we talked about the age. I just try to get specific here. I just want to know exactly what what's going on. I'm very good at following directions. I've tried to go to a lot of Man events. So I go to motorcycle rallies. I go to, you know, conventions. I go to like X games.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I go to F1. I go to like stuff where there are going to be a lot of dudes, monster truck rallies, like just, but that mostly is kids actually. So don't find men at monster truck rallies. Yeah, no. Unless you want a five-year-old. No.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Yeah, so just I go out like I try not to go out in the morning too much. I like later, a little later in the day. And like Saturdays are the best, of course, because just people are out. So then I have another question. I'm jumping all over the place. It's because like my like brain is like, you know, I'm supposed to be following questions and I'm just like so intrigued. So when you're like when you're at like, when you're.
Starting point is 00:08:36 out at bars with your friends, right? And you see a girl that's struggling, you know, that's struggling. I mean, you've seen this many, many times. What is it that she's doing? And why is she doing that if she sees that the guys aren't responding? What do you mean if she's struggling? Meaning like, you can see, you can see when a girl is looking for guys. You can see there's, you know, you can see when they're like actively pursuing men at bars.
Starting point is 00:09:03 and then they're just not getting the results. What do you think that they're doing? Do you think it's because they're like trying to be too sexual? Is there some kind of like, are you seeing any kind of trends with women that are not being well received? I think it's like maybe it's an energetic because like the energy of desperation is so repellent. So if you're really like, you know, desperate. to find somebody, it's just not going to happen. I think just being very like happy within yourself
Starting point is 00:09:40 and secure within yourself. If you're just like having a great time with your girlfriends and you're not like desperately seeking men, men will come to you. They will flock to you. It's an energetic of like, you know, attracting rather than like going out and seeking because something about that pushes away them then energetically. Yeah, they're like, no, no. What about, so just like you should like act like you don't care or just be like, I don't think it's even an act like you don't care thing. I think it's about like, you know, staying in your own world and like focusing on yourself.
Starting point is 00:10:20 I think it's like an inside job. I just think like the more you're focused on yourself and your own thing, yourself and your wealth and your health and you're like, yourself and your wealth and your help. Like living your best life. Yeah. Without worrying about what the men are doing, that's going to be the most attractive thing to men for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:44 And like just the most attractive thing, the most magnetic thing just in the world with everything. Yeah. Experience Harry Styles live in London, England at Wembley, Stadium. This is Harry Stiles. Iheart Radio wants to send you and a mate across the pond with flights from Virgin Atlantic,
Starting point is 00:11:12 hotel from TripCentral.ca, tickets, and $1,000 cash. Here we got it! Download the free IHart Radio app. Listen to IHart new music for 10 minutes. Enter to win. Every day is another chance to see Harry Styles. Very excited to see you at the show. Kiss all the time
Starting point is 00:11:28 disco occasionally available now. Another podcast from some SNL, late night comedy. Guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Jim Gaffigan to Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
Starting point is 00:11:44 This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an Acapella band with their between songs banter. The worst singer in the group. The worst? Yeah. Me. Is there anything to the idea that because you're from Harvard, you only got in
Starting point is 00:12:00 because your parents made a huge donation. The yard birds, right? That's the name. The Harvard Yardt Yard. They're open. Do you have a name suggestion? We're open.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Since you guys are middle-aged, one erection. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Humor me. I need some jokes to make me seem funny. A win is a win. A win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
Starting point is 00:12:36 You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw,

Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes,

Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan, so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes. Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away, such as the biology of tontons and wampas on the ice planet hot, or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule of two. Listen to Stuff to Blow Your Mind on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:14:07 You know, it's interesting because when I was down in Palm Beach, because I was filming and I was working at the same time, like, I was, you know, I was, I was a little busy, but, you know, I'm still out. And, you know, after we worked, I went, you know, I went with some of my friends, like bars and restaurants and stuff. And I met this one guy. And I just was like, I just wanted, you know, I was just from like, I was like, I've got to tell these people I'm only here for two months because you not want them to think that I'm. I'm like here. So I was like, listen, I'm just, you know, I'm only, I'm filming the show.
Starting point is 00:14:42 I'm only here for two months. And they were just like, you are an awful person. I can't believe that you're trying to like bait me and trying to like make me like you. I'm like, oh, no, no, no. I was just being blunt and clear that like I'm only here for two months. So if you want like that like summer love and vacation, fun vibe, I'm here for it, but then I have to go back to my New York life. I'm not moving here.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Yeah. They were like, these guys were so aggressive with me. What? And then they would be mad. They were mad. They were mad because I'm not going to be there. I'm like, I'm sorry that I'm not wildly available for you. Like genuinely angry?
Starting point is 00:15:28 Genuinely angry. Like, like text, like, I was like, whoa, whoa. Guys plural? Several guys got really like, they're like, you know, little, yeah, they got really upset. I mean, there's that male entitlement. Like, what? I'm like, I told you. Would you want me to not say anything?
Starting point is 00:15:50 That's so bonkers. I know. What? See, this is why I have a show that works. That's so crazy. Because men are crazy. I love it. I love that you, I love that you're so outgoing.
Starting point is 00:16:04 and that you're asking these people these questions. I love that you're putting it out there. I love that people are responding to you in such different ways. Yeah. Like, I love that. Yeah. I love that, you know, people are just so real with you. I mean, I was just like, I'm like listening.
Starting point is 00:16:18 I was like, are they prompted? What? So many people are like, please let this be satire. I'm like, no, it's all real. It's all real. This is you telling me why we should date. Oh my God. Well, Holly, you are so smart and so clever and so much fun. And I'm so happy to meet you. And congratulations on everything.
