Isn't that against school policy?
That seems inappropriate.
Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHeart Radio.
Hey, everyone. Welcome to The Almost Famous Podcast. We're recapping Men Tell All. We're not going to
complain about it, okay? We're also...
Wonderful episode. It was wonderful. I was going to say. There was, there was, there was
So much that we can talk about that had nothing to do with the actual tell all part because there were two moments that were like in the first 20 minutes in which we resume back in Hawaii.
I would like to say two things because the tell all part, you know, isn't, I don't think I'm with you.
It's not the most important part of this episode.
But there are two topics that I would love to get your opinion on.
Oh, sure.
What did you think about the gin and the men's reaction to Sam M?
And then at the same time, I'd be actually curious to hear like what your take was on Sam
in leaving this episode.
Sam N.
Okay.
Is this because we talked about how Sam N seemed, I said he seemed self-aware on his Instagram?
Yes.
Well, I think my biggest takeaway from the Sam M thing during the tell-all was just like,
I think it's still weird that the guys are holding it against him so much that he's never
been a relationship or never been in love.
Like, he's 25.
I don't think that's that weird these days.
Yeah, it is odd.
He's like, it is odd.
It's not like, I'm sure most people have had those feelings by that age.
And I don't think that there's just, like, I don't think it's a red flag at 25.
If you were telling me that the guy was 35 and was feeling like this, I would be like,
oh, okay, it's weird.
But do you think they're doing it because his lack of relationship and it felt like his,
like kind of lack of ability to navigate this process, they're blaming it on his
immaturity.
They're saying, hey, you were doing this thing all weird and like, we can't, I mean,
I would like somebody to be like, we can't blame me for it, man.
You don't have a lot of experience.
Right.
I think that would have been the better way of saying it, just saying like, you don't have
a lot of experience.
You're a little immature about it.
But to like make it seem like he was weird for having.
not been in those situations. I was just like, you guys.
Small piece of this, though, obviously the Sam M moments were a little bit more controversial
or talked about. I mean, watching this, I couldn't, I, the funniest thing that I've seen
about Sam M over the, since the airing was this Instagram meme where he was looking at himself
on like the projector that they have and the way he was looking at himself as if he was in awe. And it
was like Sam M really just in love with Sam M and there was the perfect way of describing everything and
Jen's reaction towards Sam like the way she stood up for herself when she got to the stage was perfect
and she was and she was she said that I want this to be you know I'm not trying to really bring you down
I just want this to be a learning lesson for you and I'm glad that he just said I accept that I was
surprised and I really wonder if there was more that didn't make the cut and I think she went after him
so hard not just because watching it back he you know prioritized himself it was always me me me
but it was really probably so bothersome that he got his entire like family and like friend group
to didn't help him out insinuate that there was like more to the story and that she actually
sucked yeah that did not help his cause i do think that like hurt his cause all right final part
of the tell-all that was interesting noah was there noah's brother this this this
was my moment's memorable part of the tell-all.
Okay, tell us, tell us why.
Because the book that they gave him
was a fake book.
Fake, completely fake.
Yeah, like the producers created this book
and then they continued with the storyline
that it was real on the tell-all.
It's kind of odd, right?
It's super odd because that information is out there.
And then they had his brother, Noah,
who we know well,
try to talk about the book situation
because he had a book situation in which
Bennett back on Tasha's season
gave him a book
about what was that
being emotionally intelligent
and they're like
oh isn't it funny that you guys both had book moments
it's like well you guys
you're telling us that you really
don't think that you were trying to mimic a situation
that you had years ago
yes we all know that this was a production thing
yeah and it goes back to what we talked about last year
I think they expect the viewers
to be like really dumb.
Yeah.
And it also helps.
And I don't know why they do it
because there's other ways
they could have gone about this
that would have made it interesting
and something to talk about.
But it almost feels one,
like they don't expect the viewers
to kind of understand this.
And it continues to lose trust with the viewers
because this is a very easy moment
where the viewers go,
this is being very produced.
Ben, good point.
And there was another moment
in the bloopers where I was thinking,
holy crap,
only, they're being very obvious
that sometimes we're being told to say certain things.
See, normally I tell you,
and I feel like we're very trustworthy
when we say,
I hope that you guys believe us
when we say that the show really isn't scripted
because that's like the number one question that we get.
Is it scripted?
And we're like, no.
And in comparison to other reality TV programs
that Ben and I have been part of
since this experience, we always say that this is like the most authentic, well, at least scripted.
But then in the bloopers, they have Jen narrating something.
And she keeps stumbling over the right way of saying it.
And I'm like, this makes it seem like she does have a script she's reading off of.
But I just want you guys to know.
Maybe things have changed too.
We have to admit that maybe we aren't in the know anymore on how things are operated behind the scenes.
yeah the lead is going to like narrate situations the way they want them to and sometimes they'll sit you down and be like we have a lot of pickups to do we have a lot of narration not so much so we have two sort of interviews when we go into the interview room some of them are in the moment interviews which are usually the most emotional like they're actually interviews about how we're feeling and then sometimes like on rose ceremony days we go into the interview room and it's kind of us narrating the week so when you saw jens
stumble a couple times that was her trying to narrate the week properly it wasn't really a script
yeah i don't know why they're kind of doing this though it's it's gonna lose trust with the viewers
and i think it's slowly but surely gonna continue now we've kind of gone through it i mean is
there anything else that you really stood out to you during the men tell all part that you
think's chat worthy i don't think so i'm just glad that noah did make fun of his brother
because like Noah was like
oh you know we kind of went about thing
it was a little different um I can't
really stand behind
he said it in the nicest possible way
but I can't really stand behind like my brother's behavior
that guy is yo like they couldn't be
more different he makes me feel super weird Aaron
and then he's like I've been divorced
so I know these things like I'm experienced
relationships and la la I'm like
okay you're divorced for a reason I feel
yeah I don't think a divorce would be that like
the marker for me i know how to do relationships i mean it's not hey but i don't think that's what i'd be
using as as the as the nugget of hey look at me i know how to go through this now
we do get into the juicy part of this episode we did i i think we do have to mention that grant
ellis was there um but he wasn't yeah he was like obviously not going to be taught like
arguing with the guys up there that was they were never going to put him in the midst of that
No, he's way above and beyond this now.
Still excited for that season, but we still have Jen's season to talk about.
Still excited about that season, but we're really, really confused by the pick of a grant.
You are.
Wait?
Yeah.
What?
Who did you think Jonathan?
That was my two things.
I started the podcast saying that there was two shocking things that happened the first
couple, 20 minutes.
So you think it was Jonathan?
Why in the world?
Why in the world was it not Jonathan?
I even got a message because I said on Instagram story.
I was like, you guys, this is so weird
why it's not Jonathan.
We know Jonathan.
We, like, all love Jonathan.
He's super endearing.
He got that far.
He got emotionally intelligent.
He got to the top three,
which is like the sweet spot for Bachelor.
And they didn't pick him.
And then I got a DM.
One of many DMs, most,
oh, I got so many DMs about like agreeing with me.
People think it's very weird that he wasn't chosen.
I got one that was like,
I heard that there's probably.
problematic things about the top three.
I'm like, okay, well, that was the case.
Then they wouldn't have announced him
as being part of Bachelor in Paradise.
So scratch that as the reasoning.
Okay.
It's interesting.
I do think Jonathan would have made a lot of sins.
But at the same time, they're still kind of hiding Grant.
So we don't know Grant yet.
Like, we're not even getting moments, like,
even during this where, like, we get to know him so much better.
Yeah.
we see the little clip in the beginning of the episode where he talks to his mom but like that was that's been out there we've floated that clip around we've seen it for a few weeks jonathan and the way that he left and he explained himself um he just had like the bachelor departure and it just feels super weird it just feels like another miss for us unless they want to use him because they need to repromote paradise as you keep insinuating
that it wasn't going to happen.
We have two people going to paradise,
him and Hakeem being officially members of that cast.
And so maybe they just feel like they need a superstar on that beach.
And that's theirs.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly,
and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Oh, wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast.
We'll find out soon.
This person writes,
My boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out?
if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land.
the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Pull that.
Turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, no such thing.
We get to the bottom of questions like these.
Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence.

A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it. They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA. Right now in a backlog will be identified in our
lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools,
they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going

Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors, and you'll meet the team behind the scenes
at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable.
Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Let's start at the beginning.
Devin has big moments during this episode.
Devin obviously has the cliffhanger coming off of last episode.
We think, and we fully believe he's going home.
But if I do remember, right, I did say I feel like Devin stays because that last clip at the end and the white suit were
You can only see her looking at somebody's shoulder had to be Devin based on his height.
We didn't know how it was going to get there.
We thought he still left and maybe he came back.
Ashley, what did you think of what, like, really happened?
Well, I texted you and I said, Ben, do you know spoilers or something?
And you know I don't this season.
I know nothing.
And he says he does not.
I know nothing.
And I'm like, how did you think that that was, how did you called it being, you called Devin being at that altar?
Because he's the tallest one.
I know.
But I don't know.
Like I said, we could have worked some way around that.
It could have been a producer.
Who knows?
They don't show a lot of the body.
Yeah.
But Ben was right.
Devin is somehow at the finale.
He's in the top two.
I'm glad he's in the top two.
One of my favorite moments of Bachelor of recent Bachelor history now is Jen saying,
like, I love you, you freaking idiot.
Like, how cute is that?
That was such a cute way of dropping the I love you in a relationship, like the way that they have.
I mean, I know there's some explanation going on, but why do you think this wasn't said before?
I want to think she was trying to sort of keep her I love you secret.
Okay.
But then again, I say that and she kind of told Marcus that she loved him.
I think she reserves the I love you for like the moment of like, I need to prove my feelings to this person.
Are we like 16 of 16 seasons since I was The Bachelor where somebody has told two people they love them?
Oh, Ben, everybody has said that I'm in love with the final two people since you did it.
It's just you really just set a precedent.
You've made everybody feel comfortable in loving two people at the same time.
Yeah, I ruined the show.
So Devin obviously is told he, you know, that she loves him.
His reaction is beautiful.
It's kind of shocking to me though
Like it is shocking that that was the reaction she had
I didn't expect it or see it coming
Neither did I
And even when he was telling her
I don't know whether there's the music
And it was throwing me off or what
But they got me
They got me
I was like she's gonna
She's gotta tell it she'll let him gently down now
And then there it was the
I love you freaking idiot
And it was the cutest thing
And then now it makes me sad
That we still think that she ends up alone
and she doesn't end up with Devin because, man, I'm rooting for them.
It is shocking.
That's what I was going to say.
It's shocking that we still have this theory that she ends up alone.
I might be changing that theory because, I mean, I don't know how this goes wrong in one week now.
Yeah.
Well, I'm going to say that what the thing that seems most plausible for what goes wrong is that she ends up thinking that she ends up wanting it to be Marcus in the end.
And then Marcus is like, no.
and then she says okay well then i can't just fall back on fall back on devon and then devon
tries to propose and that's when she says i'm going to stop you or it could be just very typical
it could be super typical uh devon's the first one up there she doesn't want him to get down on
one knee because that's just a moment that we all hope a person only does once in their life
and doesn't waste it on a TV moment.
You wish that for some people.
Yeah.
So then she stops them and then who knows,
then Marcus comes down the aisle
and then they live happily ever after.
Could go down like that too.
And we would have actually been thrown off
by all the good teasers.
It's been a while since you and I've been drastically thrown off
and I'm ready for it if it needs to happen that way.
The Marcus Jen situation,
you feel strongly about it still?
The fact that he doesn't love her enough.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't think he's going to get there.
And I still think it's very weird that it was like, I'm trying.
I'm trying.
I'm trying.
I think it's a little late to keep trying.
Like we said last week, we kind of gave, or yesterday, I guess, we gave our synopsis on what we think it feels like to fall in love with your forever partner.
And definitely what you want to feel.
Is it interesting to you now at all?
I mean, I know you've always been a Jonathan supporter since day one that knowing where Marcus was at.
that Jen said goodbye to Jonathan and not Marcus?
Yeah, good point, Ben.
I was thinking that.
And yes, Jonathan had me even from the mummy rap,
and you did not get it.
I didn't.
I still know.
You thought that he was going to get eliminated so early because of that?
I think he's a great dude.
I just thought the mummy rap was wild,
but I mean, he did it.
He's crushed it.
But yeah, I think.
He's stolen the hearts of a lot of people, and you included.
Yeah.
So I think she ran a big risk by taking on Marcus over Jonathan.
But what it proved to me was that Jonathan was never going to be it.
Because she's willing to take the risk with Marcus by letting Jonathan go.
Well, I think to close out this episode, I think you do have to give your guess on how this does play out.
Like, if you were...
Between my two theories.
Yeah.
Like, give us how you think this actually goes down during the finale.
Because they say it is different than any other Bachelor at ending,
I'm going to go with the theory that Marcus is going to leave.
Devin will be the second place choice,
and she knows that she can't accept a proposal from a second place,
and she does leave alone.
How does that...
How do you feel about that?
watching a full season and that's how it ends no like you said in our previous episode about
episode eight i feel like that is the fair and authentic thing to do except it makes me sad
because it doesn't make me sad as a viewer for like being like i invested my time in this
it's fine i invested my time as it because like every episode is entertaining and like i care about
these people you know it makes me sad because i care about these people at this point but like
I'm not sad about wasting time.
That's, like, absolutely ridiculous.
I'm sad because, I say I'm sad, but like, I don't know what's going to happen.
I would be sad because I just, I just, I've grown to really have feelings for Devin.
Really?
Yeah.
I really just find him to be a very rootable emotional character.
And I would also obviously feel sad for Jen, and that's so obvious because you get the role.
of Bachelorette and then it doesn't work out for you.
Yeah, I think the Jen's part messes with me the most.
I think Devin's going to be crushed.
We saw him during the last episode so conflicted when he didn't think Jen loved him.
Now he believes that Jen loves him.
I think he fully believes this is his wife.
And that's what's going to make it so much worse.
Yeah, it could have been better for him if she just would have said, yeah, you know what?
You should go home.
I think he gets over.
right now he is invested which makes a really wildlife show i think it's going to be really hard
for him to sit beside her to see her to have this conversation um and i feel bad for jinx i think
she did a great job this season i just don't think she connected with any of these guys at the
level that we've seen other seasons i don't know why we weren't there just wasn't there like the guy
could have just not been there but maybe we should just save this conversation for when we know
yeah we don't know because we don't know
but there is one more thing I do want to mention
I cannot believe they made
poor Hakeem our other
Bachelor in Paradise
star this man is going to be a
paradise star
his facial expressions
are amazing
and I just I don't know
how he's
he's been such a trooper with these spiders
I was thinking about like the things that I know
like the things that I would sacrifice in life
said like not touch a spider, not touch these spiders that he's had to hold.
Frantulas.
Yeah.
I'm just like, there's so many things that I'd be like, no, do this to me before that.
Do that.
Do that to brand me, okay?
Yeah.
Just don't let me touch that furry thing with a leg.
It's going to be a wild last episode, Ashley.
You've given your ideas on how this ends.
Ben, your last guess?
I do think she still leaves alone.
And I think, though, I have this wild theory.
I'm going to throw out there.
I think she leaves alone
and we go to the live show
and her and Devin have rekindled
the romance.
Oh, that could be cute.
That's my thought.
Okay.
Quote me on it.
We'll see.
All right.
Well, you are on record.
All right, guys.
Well, we'll see you next week
after Labor Day.
Don't forget, as Jesse said,
the episode airs on Tuesday nights
and we will have our recap on Wednesday.
Yeah.
Until next time,
been Ben. I've been Ashley. See ya. Love you. Bye.
