Hey, everybody. Welcome to a very special edition of the Almost Famous OGs podcast. Guys, it's got to feel pretty good to be OGs now. I was going to say, is that where we are? You've done your time. We have. I'll tell you what I've done my time. I think if we're If we're going from our last San Fran trip to this San Fran trip together, then you guys are officially OGs, right?
Starting point is 00:03:02 That's true. We were saying that two years ago, we had no baby. We just started kind of dating. We pretty much yet just started dating. We did. Yeah. And now we have a baby. Was that when you guys had just started dating when we all met?
Starting point is 00:03:11 We were, what, six months in? Yeah. Yeah. What month was that? February? No, I guess we were actually like a whole year. Do you guys? I think we were a whole year.
Starting point is 00:03:18 No, we were a year in. We were a year in. Wow. I was going to say, actually, we were a minute in. Yeah. You guys, I thought, we're such a fun couple. Canyon was there. Of course, we're with Blake Horstman
Starting point is 00:03:29 and Gina Nina, Gibelli. Did I say it correctly, don't I? Jebeli. Yeah, that's okay. Get the first thing right now. It's pretty good. Well, I just call her, you know, she's just G to me.
Starting point is 00:03:38 So, but when you guys were there, I mean, I remember I just loved, I loved meeting you guys because I hadn't met you before either, Blake. No. So we knew each other, I guess, kind of, you know, I don't know what you would call that, peripherally or whatever,
Starting point is 00:03:49 but I just loved hanging out with you guys and Canyon fell in love with you and you were so welcoming and sweet. She had never been to any of the events, before you were saying that remember you saying that yeah so she really loved it and then just to make fast friends like that was pretty awesome we had a great time i mean things that happened at the spa stay at the spa that's right although i will tell you the the pictures you know that was some pretty good you guys were having a good time but the guys had a great time too we went and golf that really
Starting point is 00:04:15 cool course that day and yeah yeah sugarman's brother who like had all the hookups out there yeah that's right i had a lot of fusions i remember that was my first time having a transfusion actually So delicious, right? But yeah, you're right. So two years ago, so much has changed. I mean, you guys, we had a second baby, which was right before then. And you guys now have had your first, baby heath. Baby Heath.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Double H, man. I like it. I want to go triple H. I wanted a middle name have age. That would have been sweet. He was Howard Horstman. What would you have gone with? Heatha Jorge.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Yeah, Jorge. That would be nice. That would be nice. Some might say that's a J. Yeah. It's true. You know what? I took Spanish in high school.
Starting point is 00:04:57 I know. I was making it easier for all you guys. No, I like you. Thank you. You cut on bombs. HGH, yeah. So, yeah, I mean, what have you guys been up to? I mean, I follow you both on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I feel like that's the only way I keep in touch with anyone anymore. And I know all the posts with your family is so beautiful. And I know you're still doing a lot of the DJing. Yeah. And G's been out there supporting you, which I think is so nice too. And you've got to always have a ton of stuff going on. So what are you guys working on right now? You go first.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Okay. Obviously, yeah, keeping, you know, baby alive. Like, that's our number one priority. We'll get to that. I have a story about that. No, yeah, obviously, you know, it's been amazing having a family. And then, as you know, balancing family and career and everything can be challenging at time.
Starting point is 00:05:40 So we're just kind of navigating that being at our, you know, our first and everything. But so far it's been great we have. We are blessed and lucky enough to have an alpair that lives with us. Yep. It is a... Where is she from? Columbia. Columbia.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Oh, excellent. So she's a family member. Yeah. Oh, very nice. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I've had three. It worked out perfect.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Really? Oh, wow. And all three of them have been shipped back. Yeah. Deported, yes. Oh, no. I swear, true story. Holy cow.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I hope that doesn't happen. I can tell you. I will marry her. I can tell you a couple. I'll marry her. No, no, you know what? So the, the, the thing I would say is when you find a good one, like, it's such an invaluable part of your family.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Yeah. Especially when you're in the entertainment industry and you've got some things, you got things you have to do, right? I mean, you got to keep up appearances or the appearances don't keep coming. right so baby needs diapers you know we gotta keep that money you'll get it yeah oh I totally get it I'm always you know I mean at the end of the day it's like you know but when you find someone who really vibes with your kid yeah it's like that's such a priceless thing to find yeah yeah we we lost we lost a couple that's crazy oh no we're doing everything like yeah we started a business for her she's got her own LLC like we're trying to be okay are you guys buy the book
Starting point is 00:06:49 are you like yeah we were buy the book like in every way so it's a very affordable thing when you do it by the book. Like when they have it all laid out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We had one that stole from us which I don't think she intended to steal from us. I really don't. I think it was just an accident. We gave her a credit card and you know, keys of the kingdom right out of the gates and
Starting point is 00:07:12 she kind of, you know, went on a couple spending sprees. Then number two came along and she was older in the program. And so she was very much like, I will not do that. And And, you know, yeah, it was, I'm like, hold on, a little militant. Yeah. And then the third one, I'll tell you off, off the pod, which she did. Because it's, that's the real fun one.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Yeah, that's the one. I grew up with a couple of those. Did you really? Yeah. Oh, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I was like, okay, what am I supposed to do now? Uh-huh. Back to South Africa. You go. Yeah. It was terrible. I mean, it was like, oh, my God. But I will say, you know, now in retrospect, I realize how lucky we were because even though these little things, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:53 weren't things to keep. them around it was like they were still really sweet and nice people and I really liked them and it's just we couldn't you know no she is literally my best friend like we all have such a great time and this is how our French you know our relationship has like been able to thrive and flourish through this like super transformative time yeah because we have her um we don't want to kill each other and it gives you guys time to spend time together because that's the hardest part about parenting time with like she helps with even more than with heath she helps with with like cooking cleaning and doing laundry which gives us more time with the baby you know
Starting point is 00:08:30 yeah yeah we didn't have that either all right i'm gonna we're gonna revisit this i want to find out who you guys use for the service she's mine yeah we uh can we fire does she have a sister yeah we so it's interesting right because you guys are at that stage too where it's like as diapers it's breastfeeding it's everything you know that you're you're doing and and that's That's time consuming too. Yeah. No, I mean, my whole, my body has just been this machine for like over a year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:01 And I pride myself to be like this like very, you know, tough person. Like I have like a super high pain tolerance and like I'm, you know, mentally tough and all that. But this was very trying. Sure. And Blake has seen those sides come out and he's just like, whoa. Whoa. And I'm like, I know. you're very lucky to have me but you need to you know go like go through this with me every once in a while yeah um but no i mean it's it's been lovely um overall like i just feel like i want to have like a whole basketball team i was gonna say yeah you know it's interesting i'm sure you guys the second you know the second everyone's holding heat they're like when's the next one right you like you don't even get a brain i literally just got him out and they're like so when you're having the girl and i'm like can we enjoy him for two seconds yeah can we keep him for five minutes just to ourselves yeah so yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:09:51 Any plans on the horizon for that? Or is it more of like a, we'll take it as it comes type of situation? So I definitely want to have another baby before I'm 35. Yeah. I'm 31. I would like to have one next year. See, and this is the wrong. Everyone's like, you need to marry it.
Starting point is 00:10:11 She's like, I want more babies. Yeah. He's like, so do you want to like, you know, get married? And I'm like, can we just keep having babies? Literally what she's like. Hey, man, but it ain't broke. Don't fix it. No, no.
Starting point is 00:10:20 At the end of the day, you guys got something going right? Amen. So you want the kids to be close in age? I do. Yeah. I do. And I like the relationship that he has with his sister. I think it's super sweet.
Starting point is 00:10:33 He's the oldest and then his sister's younger. Yeah. So I think that's good. And I also just want my body to just like take the shit now. Right. You know? Yeah, get it done. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Just get it done. And then, you know, I'll take care of everything later. Yeah. So ours are five and a half. he always tells us the half part five and a half and three so they're like two and yeah yeah so they're like two and half and I mean we know that they're going to be best friends someday right it's not today it took me in my sister a minute they beat the hell out of each other like 24 so I would wrestle with my sister so I'm gonna tell you guys this horrible story this is this is bad parenting 101 so canyon and I um you know the boys are they're rough
Starting point is 00:11:15 housing I mean all the time right they're just they're all boy you know and so I come home one day, and I see her taking Grayson, who's our five-and-a-half-year-old, into the house on a timeout. And so I just got home. I pick up Blake. Blake's crying. Grayson just hit him or something. So I said to Canyon, I go, well, I'm just going to go upstairs and check on Grayson and just
Starting point is 00:11:34 talk to him. So I have Blake in my hands. We go upstairs, and our house is a very tall house. So it's, and I say that only to give you a visual image of how it's going here. So I go up the steps, and we have at least like two, like spiral stairs. carcases on either side of her house, right? So I walk up one of them, I get to the top, and Canyon goes, tell Grayson, he's never coming off timeout if he doesn't stop yelling out the front window.
Starting point is 00:12:00 And I'm like, what is he yelling? And she's like, he's telling all the neighbors he shouldn't be on time out. And I'm like, I go, no, he's not. He's not yelling out the window. She goes, I think I know. I can hear him. And I'm like, baby, he's not yelling. I opened the door.
Starting point is 00:12:12 The reason why he wasn't yelling, he had fallen out the window. Our second story window and landed on a rose book. Oh my God. So I'm like Canyon, he's not yelling out the window because he's out the window. I don't know what I did with Blake, our youngest. I think I just threw him somewhere. I'm down the steps on like two things. I go into the bushes.
Starting point is 00:12:32 I like lift him, like deadlift him like this. See you're like a superhero chair. And then I'm like, I went back to like lifeguard training. Like back on the day. I'm like, is his neck okay? And it's roses with their thorns? It rose thorns everywhere. He's bleeding everywhere.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Oh, baby. I throw him in the car. I drive like 5,000 miles on. I get him to the hospital super fast. Get him and nothing's wrong with them. Yeah, of course. Of course. But it's like, now here comes child protective services.
Starting point is 00:12:56 They're like, go, we need to talk to you, sir. You know, I'm like, that was the worst parenting moment of all time. And we, and both of us are still, like, feeling so much guilt. Yeah. Yeah. Just fell out. Yeah, what was he doing? So he was leaning on the wind, on his screen and saying to the neighbors, like, hey, I'm on timeout.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I shouldn't be, my little brother should be on timeout. And the screen just gave way. And, but here's, like, what's amazing about kids. He's going to remember that. forever well he yeah he talks about all the time yeah and then the other day he goes up remember that one time fell through the window dad i said i said no i go well like if he were here right now he'd be like guys i fell out of a window and he's a lot like me for so it's like you know there's no secrets right so he literally he tells me a day he goes dad um so my dad had just
Starting point is 00:13:37 passed away a few years ago he's like i thought papa gee catch me in the air and lay me in the rose oh my god for a five year old to say that a little cry you're like where did this come from so then i'm like oh my god my dad must have really done this Like, you know, then you start thinking, like, I'm telling you. And no one said anything to him like that. No one, yeah. Like there was no, you know, suggestion or anything like that. It was like, it was totally his own head, you know.
Starting point is 00:14:00 So I'm like, damn. Well, have you, like, just stood there and looked at the window to, like, the bush and be like, yeah, he must have. Honestly, there's no way. There is, first of all, it gets worse. It could have been worse. Because then when I go back and, like, look at the situation, there was, like, a steak, like a long wooden steak that was.
Starting point is 00:14:19 was out like on the back side of the rose bushes like in the ground to hold like cords and right right and uh and my mind starts going crazy i'm like well what if we would have fallen on that you know but he didn't right and how do they get that kind of trajectory out of the window it's like hey i would listen to i believe it i believe in that stuff and i think i want to believe in that stuff too you know but yeah it was like the worst parenting moment because up until that point i think we thought we were doing a pretty good job and now we know we're just garbage we are hot garbage parents so if you guys ever want to if anything goes sideways i'm just gonna call you bob tell me that story again i'll be like yeah here's why you guys are great moms and dads for anyone out
Starting point is 00:14:58 there yeah it was but it was so scary and like and you don't realize how lucky you are to have these little you know kids in your life until these moments i think about it every single day i literally look at him and he'll look at me and he's four months yeah and he'll coo and a little tear will escape his eye and he's telling me he loves me Of course he is And I'm just like
Starting point is 00:15:19 You are an angel I can't do anything Like to like I have to protect you With my entire life And it's your you know Your whole heart is outside of your body And you know you want to do everything To protect them
Starting point is 00:15:30 But then you're scared of How scary the world is And all the things that you've done And you're like Yeah and you're just like Yeah Sometimes I think about that I'm like how did my parents do it man
Starting point is 00:15:41 Because like I'm so scared All the time for him And like as he gets older you got to start to like let go a little bit but it's well and it's all relative to you right like it was probably a show back then oh 100% it was just not exactly we're just dealing with a different yeah exactly yeah I will say this so um when uh when we found out we were pregnant with a second I was like oh my god I don't what the hell I'm gonna do I don't have enough love for another thing yeah I just don't have it in my body I was worried about and then you know then along
Starting point is 00:16:08 comes Blake and I'm like oh my god I got enough love for 18 more of these things let's have a lunch. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, it was one of those moments where, like, you do kind of wonder, like, how am I going to do this? I never thought about that, actually. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast. or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York state number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps,
Starting point is 00:18:06 are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aimed to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Listen to shock incarceration on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello Ed. From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin, so like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:19:13 The 2nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Your entire identity has been fabricated.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Your beloved brother goes missing without a trace. You discover the depths of your mother's illness the way it has echoed and reverberated throughout your life, impacting your very legacy. Hi, I'm Danny Shapiro. And these are just a few of the profound and powerful stories I'll be mining on our 12th season of Family Secrets. Starting point is 00:20:20 I can't wait to share 10 powerful new episodes with you, stories of tangled up identities, concealed truths, and the way in which family secrets almost always need to be told. I hope you'll join me and my extraordinary guests for this new season of Family Secrets. Listen to Family Secrets Season 12 on the IHeart Radio. app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So you won't think about it. I will tell you, like, I swear, I've told a couple of my buddies this who are pregnant with their second kids. I'm like, I'm like, you're going to be, you're going to have this, like, fear of God
Starting point is 00:21:00 moment on the, like, the day you go into labor. And at least I did. And I'm, like, a pretty loving guy. I know you are. It's like, you know, and I was like, I know I've got it in me. but what if I mean I love Grayson so much am I going to be able to be a good dad to both kids? I don't know you know and I think obviously I get that though it's a good problem to have where you're just like I just love my baby so much like I want to be able to love this one that
Starting point is 00:21:24 much too like that's a good thing because if you have that like it's just natural I mean I think for dads is so different oh yeah because like you don't really feel that they're real until like you see them well we're on the sidelines for so much of it. It's very much of it. You know, because you're nourishing that baby. It's all you. And so I really didn't even feel like I was, you know, I didn't even know what it was going to mean to be a dad until Grayson started talking.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Like not really talking like sentences, but just like saying words. I was like, oh, okay, he does know who I am. You know, like, dad, I'm like, oh, thank God. He's going to call me, you know, mommy or something. So that's all good. Yeah. For me, I feel like I had an instant connection with him, but I feel like he didn't have one with me.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Sure. And I think it's finally starting to happen over the last, like, couple weeks. I can see it in his face. Like, he lights up now when he sees me, which is really cool. Because I have there for a while. I was like, I love you, but does he love me? Like, I don't know, you know. But now I can, like, start to feel like he lights up when he sees me, which is really cool.
Starting point is 00:22:25 So I will say, like, he's always known that you're his dad, always. But I don't know what happened. Like, the past, like, we. Yeah, it's literally been like the last week. No kidding. Yeah. He's just, like, going for dad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:36 It's pretty cool. It feels good, doesn't it? And I'm like, we did. We had like a huge canoe. The other day, we played peekaboo the other day for like 30 minutes. And since then, it's like, I'm his favorite person. And now I'm like, oh, my God. Just taking that time.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Yes, exactly. It was so cool. It was such a cool moment. I'm jealous. I love your guys love story because you guys are like the prime example of, I mean, you end up in this kind of weird community of people, right, who do these shows and you end up doing these events and you kind of come across each other. And I love how your guy's story has been turning out, right?
Starting point is 00:23:09 like you met from different different franchises all that kind of stuff but you guys actually did end up on a show together at one point right that's not and that's what you actually met yeah that's where we met MTV show to all shows and also a shore show a Jersey short show of all shows so literally a hodgepodge of like here's a big house off the Canary Islands and like go compete for money and like make out and have a good time and I was like I'm making out with everybody I'm not I'm not leaving with you know I had a dating show after so I like I was contract I couldn't And then he walks down to the beach And I'm just like, why do you look so familiar?
Starting point is 00:23:44 He's like, I'm from The Bachelorette. And like a big Blake smile. Sure. And I'm just like, oh, not the Bachelor guy. I wasn't counting on him. I told myself I would never. And yeah. Here we are.
Starting point is 00:23:59 No, but he is. It was definitely a moment of like when you know, you know. Yeah. Because we were just like stuck like glue. Well, that's the thing. When I met you guys, it was like I thought you'd been together forever. You know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:10 And I love that when I see that in people. And that is something that's pretty evident when you see it. Yeah. I mean, when I found out you guys were pregnant, I was so excited. Oh, really? Oh, my God. Yeah. I was so fired up.
Starting point is 00:24:21 So now what's next on the horizon for you guys, obviously besides kids and, you know, holding off a marriage so you get the basketball team. What do you, I know, I mean, I know you're doing a lot of Vegas. I saw you in Vegas not too long ago. Yeah. Yeah. I've got a few shows. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I mean, I mean, I'm in Nashville this weekend. And then New York, the next. in Dallas and Baltimore and Nebraska. And so I'm all over the place. So the DJ, you know, the DJ thing's going good. Making music. Making music. Got three songs out now.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Got two more coming hopefully by the end of the year. So in that front, it's been fun. It's been good. It's been fun, like I said, balancing everything. And I can't wait. G's come to now two of my shows. Yeah. Yeah, two of my shows,
Starting point is 00:25:00 which is fun to get her back out there after. Yeah. It's really fun to get her back out there. We went to one in Florida and Del Rey with her and her cousin. Mom had a real good time. That's awesome. Well, your body wasn't used to having beverages at that point. Yeah, exactly, exactly.
Starting point is 00:25:13 And I can't wait until Heath, which I think he might come to, I mean, I'll hope I'll announce it by them, but whatever. I think he'll come to my Nebraska set. I do. That'd be awesome. I'm going to, so I went to college out there. Yeah. And I'm playing the Nebraska Colorado football game.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Oh, that's a big one. Yes. That's a big one. The tailgate. And so I think he's, he's going to come. And I'm hoping he can just like, there's like a VIP area and he can just kind of watch. Yeah, we'll have the earmuffs. Yeah, we just kind of watch from way, way up high.
Starting point is 00:25:37 But that'll be his first set with me. That's a good one. That's one of those big tailgates. That's like the Michigan-Michita. Yes, exactly. Yep, yep. And then for you, like, I remember right, I felt like I was right after, but I'm sure it wasn't. But I felt like you were, like, doing some glam and stuff that you were filming on your Instagram for something you were working on.
Starting point is 00:25:53 What was that? What was that was? I don't remember. She was just, she was doing something. She was just, she's in a T-Mobile commercial, which is really cool. International. Yeah, international TV. So I literally just, so I, I, I, he.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Heath was a month old. I was one month postpartum and then flew out to L.A., did a T-Mobile commercial, super fun. That has to be it. Because you were like, you were showing like the glam behind the scenes stuff. Really? Yeah. And I was like, oh my God, she just gave birth.
Starting point is 00:26:21 She looks amazing. Yeah, that's 100% of it. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's so fun. And that came, you know, like super last minute. And I was just like, let's go. Because, you know, again, if you don't go, you don't call. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Yeah. And I felt good enough. Again, like, I just, I feel like I was made to be a mom. So I was like, let's do it. But, and I did it in English and Spanish. So that was fun. I'm working on a jewelry line. Just keep, you know, I never took a day off.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I literally gave birth and I was just like, let's just keep going. That's it. And it did take a toll for a little bit. But I got like this fire when I found out that I was pregnant that I was like, I just need to keep working and I need to work harder. Well, all of a sudden it's not just for you. It's a crazy feeling. It's a very crazy feeling.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Now it's like you start planning 401Ks and 529Bs and all sorts of stuff. There are letters and numbers all over the place. Yeah. All of us. It's like, you're going to be good. It's true, though. I feel like I've started to work so much harder and just like think about the future so much more now that I'm a dad.
Starting point is 00:27:18 It's crazy. I love you guys. I love that we're all here together again. I just wish you to see you. Canyon, we wish you were here. Yeah. But I love that you guys are here and that we're all here together. And I love that you guys are together.
