This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. Starting point is 00:01:12 I know how overwhelming it can feel if flying makes you anxious. Right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. On the new podcast, America's Crime Lab, every case has a story to tell.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And the DNA holds the truth. He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha. Starting point is 00:02:08 This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHeart Radio. We're back. It's another week of the Almost Famous Podcast, and yes, we will be breaking down episode two of The Bachelor. It's a crazy season. But first, we have headlines. It's a big week for headlines. A lot going on in Bachelor Nation.
Starting point is 00:02:27 and some things that we've been wondering about, excited about for a while. And, well, they've been proven true. But let's start with this one. Yes. The Bachelor, Joey's biggest red flag revealed as he begins dating 32 women. Well, misleading headline
Starting point is 00:02:46 because Joey said that he's not really a big red flags guy because he believes that there's so many different people in this world. However, he will say that a turn off for him is someone who's self-obsessed. He said that he can try to understand, that if he can try to understand if someone only seems to be thinking about themselves, but when it comes to the point,
Starting point is 00:03:09 when it just seems like they're not even going to put anyone above themselves at any moment, that's when it gets tough. He thinks that everyone should be a little more selfish, but if you're a little bit too self-centered, that is, I guess, he says, his red flag. Yeah, good for him. Makes sense. Watch out for that. Bachelor nation, Susie Evans and Justin Glace reveal their dating. And here's how their journey began. That's what the headline says. Not a shock to us, Ashley, but definitely something we were on the edge of our seats and waiting for it to finally be announced. Oh, we are so excited. Are you, I mean, no, because I really thought they were just friends. We had them on the podcast. Well, I interviewed them November 30th. And I thought it was a really, you weren't part of the interview.
Starting point is 00:04:00 You were downstairs at the Bachelor Mansion doing another interview, but I grilled them. But remember then afterwards we talked about and we said there's no way they're just friends. Oh, because they went to Art Basil together in Miami and then they went to the Ravens game. She went to Baltimore with him over. I think she was there on New Year's Eve. So I thought that was a huge, like what? Now this is just getting out of hand. You guys are traveling across the country together.
Starting point is 00:04:26 There is no way to people that are both single, both attractive at their age, hang out as much as they do and don't like have some type of interest. I just don't see it. I've never seen it in my life. It might exist. Please tell me if it does. I just have never seen it. But Ashley, this headline goes into their like kind of journey on how they met. I think it's very interesting. Can you tell everybody about it? Well, I can tell everyone that when we had Justin and Andrew come last. I think it was last December to Audrey's. Justin told Jared and I that he was thinking about doing like an apartment situation where I think it would have been Andrew or another guy from The Bachelor. And then there would have been a third roommate. And that third roommate they were thinking of it being Susie. And Jared and I were like, okay, but does somebody have anything romantic with Susie? And he was like, well, I mean, there's definitely like a flirtation with her. and I. And I was like, oh, but then watching, and I was like, well, you can't live together then
Starting point is 00:05:32 you can't like start out like three's company. But then watching their friendship evolve over the past year and them not living together. I was like, oh, well, you know, maybe it started out flirting and then they realized that they were just friends until it got to be, you know, to the point where it was just like so in our face like, what? And then I did the interview and I was like, you guys remind me so much of Jared and I when we were at that point. relationship so much. And I thought in my interview, I was like, Susie is definitely, like, she's 100% down to cross this line. And I thought he had the one that has more reservations, but I think he's just the better actor right now. They're both fantastic actors during that
Starting point is 00:06:16 interview. And they did say, they, like, we're sorry. We just, we went into the interview with us and then with Joe and Serena. And they're like, we just like had a pact. We're like, we're going to speak. from the place that we were in about two months prior. So this is how it all happened. They did meet in November 22. And then they admit they always had like a flirty rapport. And throughout that time, Justin dated people. Susie said she dated people. And the narrative of us being friends was truly true until October 23, about a month before interview. And they were out with friends. and at the end of the night like all the friends had left this bar
Starting point is 00:06:59 and then it was just the two of them and they went for like late night stacks at 7-11 and they were just like having fun like messing around being flirtatious as usual Justin said and then he was the one who said like hmm
Starting point is 00:07:14 oh oh okay so Susie said stop playing around and then that's when he said oh wow this tone seems a little bit different and in the back of his head He was like, I mean, if she's serious, I'm serious. So at first, they didn't want to cross those boundaries, but then they got a car. They got to his place, and they both told each other how they felt about each other.
Starting point is 00:07:39 She said it was a really, he said it was a really nice conversation. And they just kind of went for it. They said, hey, listen, I don't know where you stand on our friendship or relationship, but I respect you so much and I appreciate a relationship. But I would be lying if I said that I hadn't thought there was. potential for more than a friendship. And then they ended the night with a kiss on the couch. Do you think Neil Lane's called them yet?
Starting point is 00:08:03 The next couple to get engaged at a bachelor wedding. No, not yet. It will happen. This is super exciting. They're both very likable, lovable people. Now together, finally, we have it secured in our minds that there's no longer these speculations or assumptions they have told the world that they are together. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Oh, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. He's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Have you ever wished for a change but weren't sure how to make it? Maybe you felt stuck in a job, a place, or even a relationship. I'm Emily Tish Sussman, and on she pivots, I dive into the inspiring pivots of women who have taken big leaps in their lives and careers. I'm Gretchen Whitmer, Jody Sweetie. Monica Patton. Elaine Welterah. I'm Jessica Voss. And that's when I was like, I got to go.
Starting point is 00:09:45 I don't know how, but that kicked off the pivot of how to make the transition. Learn how to get comfortable pivoting because your life is going to be full of them. Every episode gets real about the why behind these changes and gives you the inspiration and maybe the push to make your next pivot. Listen to these women and more on She Pivots now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The U.S. Open is here. And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history. The predictions will we see a first time? winner and the pressure.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know. Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event. I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not. Tennis is full of compelling stories of late. Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids?
Starting point is 00:10:50 or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself. How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form? To hear this and more, listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain, an I-Heart Women's Sports Production, in partnership with Deep Blue Sports and Entertainment, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. I don't write songs. God write songs.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I take dictation. I didn't even know you've been a pastor for over 10 years. I think culture is in any space. that you live in that develops you. On a recent episode of Culture Raises Us podcast, I sat down with Warren Campbell, Grammy-winning producer, pastor, and music executive to talk about the beats, the business,
Starting point is 00:11:31 and the legacy behind some of the biggest names in gospel, R&B, and hip-hop. This is like watching Michael Jackson talk about thoroughly before it happened. Was there a particular moment where you realize just how instrumental music culture was to shaping all of our global ecosystem?
Starting point is 00:11:47 I was eight years old, and the Motown-25 special. came on. And all the great Motown artists, Marvin, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Diana Ross. From Mary Mary to Jennifer Hudson, we get into the soul of the music and the purpose that drives it. Listen to Culture raises us on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Big news in Bachelor Nation, Amanda Stanton gives birth to baby number three. Yep. We are so happy for her. I know. knew it when she's very active on social media. And so when I saw that she had posted something and then
Starting point is 00:12:26 there was like a 10 hour gap, I was like she's totally having baby. And then like a day or two later she posted the picture. So cute. She and Michael and the baby, the baby Rosie, was born on the 24th of January, at 1.40 in room 42, she said. And it was cute because she was born a day before Charlie's 10th birthday. So it was a little early birthday present for her. BIP's Bachelor in Paradise, that is. Kylie Russell breaks down the timeline. This was kind of shocking to me.
Starting point is 00:13:00 This was juicy. Of her and Avan Jones's split, his cheating, and more. So on Nick's podcast, the Vial Files, she said, she went through the whole timeline. She said that they did have problems in their relationship. Everyone does. But when it comes to ever thinking that he would cheat on, me she said she absolutely did not think that was that was going to happen she really felt like
Starting point is 00:13:23 he thoroughly loved her um and then what happened was just as we kind of assumed it happened um they posted that they were together on instagram the day after the finale aired and she said that she just like sort of had a feeling that she didn't want to go through her DMs um she just wanted to enjoy that like blissful release of the news to the fans. And then she eventually goes in the DMs and there she saw it. She saw a girl said that like I know that he cheated on you. I think it was it in July? Something like that. So really early on after getting off Paradise. And then she ended up having photo proof. And she ended up then questioning even where he was at that that time. And she found out that he actually was in the same place that this girl that he cheated with
Starting point is 00:14:22 lived, which was LA. And as soon as she brought it up and she was like, did you cheat on me like on this weekend like with this girl? Because I have a DM and I have, I have proof. He didn't try to backtrack at all as, you know, if you do have if you do have photo evidence, it is quite hard to backtrack And when I mean photo evidence, the girl had her hand in the picture with Avin, just to make sure that it wasn't just a picture of Avin's sleeping, that the girl was with him in bed. Goodness gracious. And yeah. So he didn't, he didn't try to back out. And that's, you know, that was that. What was he thinking? Do we know yet? I don't know. It's just like, it's crazy. He definitely wasn't thinking with his head.
Starting point is 00:15:11 No. The one in his... Yeah, but... Yeah, the brain. Yeah. I just... Like, was Paradise just a joke for him, you think? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I don't know. So weird. It's crazy. It's also crazy that he just, like, never came across, especially on the season that he came from, you know, with Rachel. That, like, he'd be, like, that kind of guy. But you don't really know somebody, I guess, from TV. You don't.
Starting point is 00:15:41 goodness this is still wild uh well final headline of today jason tardick says of course he'd consider those wrong quotations being the bachelor after kately bristow split he said this on his own podcast sure somebody brought it up to him i don't think he's just going to be like hey guys i'm going to go on a monologue about how i would like to be the bachelor um he says i think i'm probably too old I think, you know, 35 is kind of old for a bachelor. However, of course, he would consider it if offered, I don't think they're coming to my door. Let's just say that. Well, that's interesting because, you know, he has a point.
Starting point is 00:16:25 There hasn't been a bachelor around 35 for a very long time. How old was Ari? Okay, so I guess it was Ari and Nick. Yeah. So what was Nick when he was on? He must have been like 37. Yeah. And then Ari was probably also about 37.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Yeah. Yeah. And so it's been a while, but it's definitely not unheard of. And Jason has such a fandom behind him that I would not be surprised if they called him in for talks. I do think that Joey's ratings, which have been honestly groundbreaking, the show hasn't spiked like this since Peter's season. Peter's season was the only like season in the past 10 years where. the ratings went up and then of course
Starting point is 00:17:09 they fell quite dramatically after Peter's season but that was the last time so anyway with ratings going so well and Joey being like just such a likable character from a recent season
Starting point is 00:17:23 I wonder how that's going to play into their their pick for the next season. I think Jason's perspective is probably right. Would he say no to it right away? No, why would he?
Starting point is 00:17:35 Is he expecting a fun? phone call probably not but i'm guessing his name gets thrown out there i don't know how that works yeah that's what i'm saying like talks sure being the actual one probably not yeah who knows i think they really learned their lesson though go for the hot guy that everyone likes do you know what i mean i saw some some memes out there i won't i won't even really go into because i don't want to offend the past couple of bachelors but they were funny and it was just like you know just pick the guy that everybody's rooting to be the bachelor and it's going to work out for you yeah joey's definitely one of those guys he's doing great well speaking of joey we are going to break down
Starting point is 00:18:20 episode two of the bachelor it is a uh going to be a really interesting breakdown i have some questions for ashley that i think might put her in the corner a little bit going to force her to answer some things maybe she doesn't want to answer things but It's going to be a great episode breakdown. We can't wait to do it. But this has been the headlines of this week in Bachelor Nation. So until next week, where we have more headlines, I've been Ben. I've been Ashley. See you soon. Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcasts on IHartRadio or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
