Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Starting point is 00:02:39 and ashley i almost famous podcast with iheart radio holy cow new season of the bachelorette has started we are kicking it off we are making things happen we are breaking it all down today at the almost famous podcast we are back in season with gin season of the bachelorette ashley is still here I'm here. Not shockingly. I don't know. I'm shocked. Every day I'm like,
Starting point is 00:03:05 today's the day. No kidding. It's more like tomorrow is the day, is how I've been saying it. I'm just, I'm glad tomorrow's the day because I want to have you here, especially for this first episode.
Starting point is 00:03:16 It's tough to kick off a really exciting new season of The Bachelor. Without you, I don't know how I would do it. But let's dive into it now. It's season 21 of The Bachelor. Here's something crazy. Do you know that Jared and myself were on the 13th season of The Bachelorette,
Starting point is 00:03:36 and I was the 20th Bachelor? I'll never forget that you were the 20th Bachelor. They should have made a bigger deal out of that. I can't put in our Bachelor seasons. There have been than Bachelorette seasons. I can't believe they took that much of a break in the 2000s from the Bachelorette. Anyway, Ben, you know what jumped out as me as being the most, like, what's going on here moment? at least in the beginning of the episode.
Starting point is 00:04:01 What's that? Why weren't they at the Bachelor Mansion, right? It's good question. Until the end, then we found out why they weren't at the Bachelor Mansion. I still don't know why they're not. I mean, even if they're leaving after one date there, I don't know why they still wouldn't have gone to the mansion.
Starting point is 00:04:18 My guess is that Marshall, the owner of the Bachelor Mansion, probably didn't want to completely evacuate his home and have them make it look like the Bachelor Mansion inside. for just one night and I'm assuming that this house that they used which is also the house that they used for what's that show called listen to your heart I think that's probably just like a rental property like that's where they shoot things at so they didn't they could get it for one night it was beautiful uh it's you know the mansion is iconic and seeing people walk through those front
Starting point is 00:04:51 doors and taking a right you know always is exciting for me because I understand and I've seen and I've been there before, but I don't think this episode or this season is going to miss the mansion. It feels like... I was just scared that we had gotten rid of it forever. And I was like, wait a second. I'm never going to be able to, you know, go back there
Starting point is 00:05:10 and be like, this is the best of course. Yeah. It must always stay the same now going forward. Well, we do have an episode to speak about, to talk about, I hope everybody listening has watched. If they haven't, Um, here's some, just some ideas that have happened in the past, uh, on the almost famous podcast. We won't know all the names of these guys yet. So I just want to let you know that there's
Starting point is 00:05:35 going to be some descriptors to categorize who we're talking about. Uh, so you're going to have to kind of piece that together. Also, you know, Ashley and myself have never said that night one is our favorite episode. It's never been our favorite episode. And I think for me, Ashley, I haven't heard your thought yet. I would still hold that after the night one this season. It's not a marker of how good or bad the season's going to be. No, it never is very telling. It's just, it's just the same thing over again, but we did get introduced to some of these guys. Ashley, let's talk about some of our favorites and then some of the people that might concern us after a period of time. So who are some of your favorites? Okay, so favorites, I don't have a ton. I'm going to be honest. Don't have a ton. I understand.
Starting point is 00:06:24 her attraction to Sam, the general contractor, who looks to me exactly like Juan Pablo meets Sean Booth. He has definitely, there isn't a lure to him. Uh, he's sexy. I worry about him. I, and you even see in the scenes to the next, you know, the season, that he might be a little bit of a troublemaker. He might have a bit of an ego on him. But, I acknowledge that, you know, he as the first rose recipient, the first impression rose recipient, definitely has, I think, the most chemistry with her. She finds him most appealing right now. What I loved is that she didn't kiss anyone until after she met everyone.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Now, I mean, did she have one-on-one sessions with everyone? I guess we can't be certain. We don't have any guys complaining in the house that they didn't have a moment with her. So I'm going to go ahead and say that she probably had a little time with everyone. I think that this episode or like the time it took to film this episode perhaps was longer than any other first episode because it got, it got light, light outside so early. It got light outside by the time that she gave out her first impression rose. normally we see the sun rising in the background of the rose ceremony but here the roads was the first rose wasn't even given out and the sun was straight up out and it gave me the willies
Starting point is 00:08:07 because by the time she had that moment with sam the guys hadn't even lined up for the rose ceremony which in my head means there was at least two hours more until the rose ceremony. ceremony was done at that point. I like that this is what you're focused on now. Like, you know, most people are saying, yeah, that's crazy it gets light out. But now as you get older and I get older, the amount of time that each contestant has asked to stay awake is now a focus of all of our attentions. Like, how red are their eyes?
Starting point is 00:08:41 How bad is their breath? Are they hungry? Like, are their eyes just like just so dry? Yeah. It's, it's a rough road. out at you're making out. See, they were making out at like 6.30 a.m. Well, that's why these contestants go on to win all these other competition shows because
Starting point is 00:09:02 they've been through the grind. I'm sorry. Your question to me was who stood out? And here I am talking about the sun. Yeah, you didn't really answer the question at all. That's fine. Sam obviously stood out is what I'm saying. I didn't feel immense chemistry with a lot of other guys.
Starting point is 00:09:20 but I do have things to say about other guys. But Ben, please, your feedback. Bring this back around. I think Sam is definitely somebody we'd have to speak about. Now, was he my favorite? No. Do I think he got the first impression rose? Because he is now going to have a target on his back
Starting point is 00:09:39 and he's not going to respond well to it? Yes, I do. I really liked Marcus. I think Marcus came in very first person out of the limo. He was humble. He was kind. He has a great story. I do think he's one to watch.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Now, I don't know anything about these guys' character at this point. There's not one guy I could say, hey, after night one on this season, they made me concerned or they made me excited. I think everybody is kind of showing their best face. You give it time. You give it some pressure. Then we'll see who these guys really are. But I think Marcus really stood out to me.
Starting point is 00:10:10 I also think Noah's brother is one to look out for. I think he seems very sweet. I think he also has the advantage of having Noah, who has. probably told him about how this process works, who to look out for, who to stay away from. And the things to say and not to say, which is interesting because we do see a clip of, I think his name's Aaron, Aaron being the guy that says, not everybody is here for the right reasons, which is never a good thing for any contestant to do to be the person that says that. But Ashley, one of my questions for you is, honestly,
Starting point is 00:10:50 when it comes to the first impression rose, can remember a season as of late where the first impression rose getter ends up being there at the end. It's been a while, I think. My point is, I think the trend is that the first impression rose receiver has, as of late,
Starting point is 00:11:18 reacted really poorly to getting the first impression. first impression rose. In fact, they've had the target on their back and they haven't joked with themselves. They haven't handled it well. In fact, they got a little too big of ego. Their confidence kind of gets big and they annoy the rest of the house. And then over time, they end up becoming contentious with the rest of the house. I think this is going to happen with Sam. Now, we've gone through some of the people that sit out to us. You said, Sam. I said Marcus. Obviously, Aaron's there. I agree with you with Marcus, for sure. When she was sitting down on the market's at the cocktail party. I was like, oh, this could be him. This could be the first
Starting point is 00:11:52 impression risk getter. And then even with Aaron a little bit too. Yeah. I think there is definitely some standouts again, though. I think this night one stands out and separates itself to me because there isn't that person that everybody's going to be like, oh my gosh, this guy's it. Yeah. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him?
Starting point is 00:12:48 Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD...
Starting point is 00:13:20 Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it. They had no idea who it was.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable. These are the coldest of cold cases. But everything is about to change. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going to get caught.
Starting point is 00:14:08 And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha. On America's crime lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors. And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy. I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear. The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house.
Starting point is 00:15:13 So what do you get when a true crime producer, walks into a comedy club, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro? Tell you how to manage your money again. Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of, why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan,
Starting point is 00:15:58 starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt. and it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it.
Starting point is 00:16:24 And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment-free money advice, listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Now let's just go generalities here. Who, Ashley, do you want to talk about? Who kind of just go off on your tangent now? who is memorable to you for who they are what they did? Okay, this is shocking. What was his name?
Starting point is 00:16:54 I have this written down. Jonathan, the guy with the head wrap, the patient who came out of the limo with his butt showing. My sister and I were so grossed out. We were like, oh, no girl wants to see a bare ass
Starting point is 00:17:11 as a first impression. And then like the whole gimmick of, the head wrap, and then he unwrapped his wrap, and I was like, wait, he's cute. Like, I was like, I'm, like, most attracted to him out of anybody else in that house. Really? Yeah. And so, interestingly, I think that he might have a future. So that was interesting to me.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Sam M. The Love Virgin made a big deal about never having a girlfriend before. He's 25. I hadn't had a boyfriend at 25, so I'm not gonna, I don't fault him for that. I was weirded out by the fact that he came, that his package included him curling his eyelashes with a lash curler.
Starting point is 00:18:05 So that's interesting. why is that interesting I've never seen a guy prepare himself for a night with an eyelash curler I told you one of the only things I do aesthetically to my face ever especially on the show
Starting point is 00:18:25 well I do that man I guess if that counts I have one of I got a eyelash comb one of those little things and I comb out my eyelashes yeah but that's fun because it feels nice and it feels really good I'm not saying, but I've just said it feels good.
Starting point is 00:18:40 How many dudes do you see do that? Not a lot. Is it a weird thing? Could you say it's a weird thing? If you want to curl those eyelashes because you've got long enough eyelashes to curl, go for it, dude. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:54 I'm not, yeah, again, a little bit of, maybe a beige flag. A beige flag. Okay, page flag. I, Dylan, the 24-year-old medical student, stands out to me as a good potential I liked him in his bio and I am
Starting point is 00:19:15 eager to see more of him but right now he's kind of like the strong silent type I think he'll get far though and then the other things worth mentioning I think were it was the disgusting moment between
Starting point is 00:19:32 the real estate developer who from New York who just cringes me out because he thinks that like his travel and his money is impressive. Hey, here's just a note here to pause you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Anybody that wants to brag about how much money they have should just creep you out in general. And typically, they ain't telling the truth. Yeah. Oh, he was like, I shipped my Maserati or whatever the heck that was, Ferrari, all the way from New York. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:20:06 that car. They shipped it for you. They're right. And that's the dumbest thing you could ever do. You won't need a car now for the next three months. What you're already going to do with your Maserati sitting in Los Angeles. Hopefully that was a cool two-minute drive. It doesn't make any sense. It's not rational. You don't want to be and marry somebody who's going to be making weird decisions like this. This doesn't speak husband. It speaks child. Yes. And then to make matters worse, Brian, the aesthetics guy with the completely frozen forehead comes and, like, tries to interrupt the Ferrari moment. And it's just disgusting. I can't.
Starting point is 00:20:44 These guys only got through for the sake of TV because, come on now. There's no way she was attracted to anything between the two of them. Yeah. I do really like the med school student. I think that the strong silent type, definitely somebody. You know, there is some guys here that even in just their intro packages, you could tell. They were very excited to potentially find love and not just be on television. And I think you saw that in some of their actions, even at the mansion.
Starting point is 00:21:13 There were some quiet people around, which is great. I think those are the people that are going to stand out in the end. Switching gears, because we have gone through some of the standouts now in terms of the contestants, a little bit to go back to our breakdown episode where we broke down each of these guys. I do think, as usual, the guys who were a lot more handsome than we saw in the pictures that were taken and posted online. This is a good group of guys. There's definitely some people, I think, as we get to know them better, will become even more handsome and, you know, attractive to us all. But I do think I was a little nervous after looking at all the pictures.
Starting point is 00:21:57 I was like, this could be rough. And it wasn't. It was not rough at all. They put a suit on well. There's definitely some studs. Now let's talk about gin. We still did not get to know a lot about gin, even on this episode. She is our bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:22:12 And one of the things that we were not concerned about, but what we wanted, desired was to learn more about Jen because we did not get to see a ton of gin on Joey's season of The Bachelor. And honestly, I felt like we didn't get to know a lot about Jen even after this episode. We got to hear a little bit about her family. dynamics and what she wanted and desired for life and kind of her schooling. I will say I want to know more about Jen for one reason and one reason only. I think I really like Jen. I thought she handled
Starting point is 00:22:46 night one with her responses, her ability to listen, her ability to make fun, to laugh, to kind of ease the nervousness of all these guys better than any lead that we've seen in recent history. I thought She was amazing on night one. So I want to, I just want to know more about her. I hope we get to. Well, you know how we talk about when they go on one-on-ones. They usually just learn about the new contestant and not the bachelor, not the lead. I do hope that they have, they show the conversation in full so that we can get to know both of them at the same time.
Starting point is 00:23:24 I also want to go back to what I was saying earlier about the fact that she decided not to kiss anyone. until she decided who her first impression rose was. I just thought that was refreshing because I feel like every night one we keep getting more and more kisses. And it's like, okay, how much do you really feel the urge to kiss this person after a five-minute conversation? So I'm just really glad that she reserved it
Starting point is 00:23:52 for her first impression Rose getter and that she went through like everyone. And then she was like, I've been thinking about you. I keep thinking about you. So it just felt like there was a lot of meaning to it. Yeah. I mean, I do. Sometimes that's just luck, too, that it works out that way.
Starting point is 00:24:08 I don't know if any lead that I've talked to when we, you know, are having drinks and just talking about the experience says, oh, yeah, I went in the night one, just ready to make out with everybody. I don't think that's ever actually a desire or something that anybody believes will be the healthiest for the long-term relationships of all of these people. But sometimes it just happens, right? Like sometimes you're just in a position, you're small talking, and then all of a sudden there's a kiss and it happens on night one. I think with Jen, one of the reasons I would say
Starting point is 00:24:39 that there wasn't as much kissing or there really wasn't any until the first impressioner was good conversationalist. Like the conversations continued. They never stopped. I think she's engaging. I think these guys were nervous and she kept them kind of asking good questions. She was asking good questions back. And when the conversation is flowing, there's no need to stop and have to make out, which you know what? For the first couple dates, I know you and I are like, this is awesome. We don't have to watch Jin make out with everybody. What we do get to do is see Jen connect with people and we get to learn about the contestants. That makes a better season. So that's my prediction now for the rest of the season is that we're actually going to get to know some of these
Starting point is 00:25:22 guys because we've had leads who are so bad at talking and so bad at asking questions that we've only seen them kiss people yeah i know i know um all right well ben is there anything else like i have a couple more random thoughts yeah before we jump into random thoughts i want to talk to you about now your overall overall idea that they won't be at a mansion that they're going to be traveling right away internationally with this massive group of people. Are you excited for this? You know, are you nervous about it? I'll say my opinion is the mansion always seems to bring out drama. I'm nervous that traveling internationally might cause less drama than what we've seen in the mansion because the mansion you live on top of each other, you're in bunk beds
Starting point is 00:26:15 with each other. You're sharing a bathroom with each other. You're waking up around each other. You're around each other all the time in very close proximity. And you're just sick of being in the heat of L.A. sitting outside while somebody else is on a date, you know, twirling your thumbs. I am nervous that that drama, kind of the anxiousness to continue on, will be less because they're traveling internationally. I don't know if I agree with that. I do agree with, like, being in the house, it's closer quarters, you are in a bedroom with, like, 12 people versus three. But I also feel like you're on these long flights and you're going through time changes and you're probably crankier and, like, more out of your element. So that could also bring up some bad feelings.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yeah. So I don't know. I don't have a problem with them going right off the bat travel. I don't think it's going to make a whole different vibe, but I hope it doesn't feel like, and it shouldn't, it shouldn't. I was going to say, I hope it doesn't feel like the quarantine seasons where like we never had a place of familiar. Well, yeah, I don't know. I don't have any strong opinions on this.
Starting point is 00:27:37 But Ben, yours was interesting. Consider it. Your take. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same. age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program
Starting point is 00:29:47 and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything. Listen to shock incarceration on the I-HeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Super Secret Festi Club podcast season four is here.
Starting point is 00:30:10 And we're locked in. That means more juicy chees-me. Terrible love advice. Evil spells to cast on your ex. No, no, no, no. We're not doing that this season. Oh, well, this season, we're leveling up. Each episode will feature a special bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it.

Hey, sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro? tell you how to manage your money again. Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part when you
Starting point is 00:31:15 pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan, starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt
Starting point is 00:31:49 when it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact, it may get even worse. Starting point is 00:32:04 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. We're going to transition now into Ashley's general thoughts on this episode. Everything that's just been swirling in your head after watching it, after feeling it, Ashley, take it away. Okay. So disappointed that the heavyset guy, the teddy bear. We never got to know him. He was such a good character. I liked him.
Starting point is 00:32:30 His personality went along with what I thought he would be like based on his bio. And I'm bummed. I also, you remember the Devin? Okay, so Devin, the one that she said, it reminds her Pete Davidson, who owns, like, a freight company in Texas and was brought up by a single mom. He's the one that, like, likes to poison himself with whatever he's allergic to, remember? Mm-hmm. I don't know about my feelings.
Starting point is 00:32:58 They have something. He's definitely a big personality. He makes me nervous, though. He makes me feel like there's something, there might be some darkness there. Yeah, there's something off. Okay, thank you. You feel? I definitely feel it.
Starting point is 00:33:14 And I think they tried to communicate that to us, to show us that during this episode. I don't know, Ashley, if how it will play out, right? I don't know what this story will end up being. But yes, I think my attention was attuned to him and what his decision making will be like now for the rest of the season. Okay. And then finally, Marcus, who, oh, no, not Marcus, love Marcus, Grant, the basketball player. Yeah. He, we were so right on about him during our profile breakdown.
Starting point is 00:33:53 He was a professional basketball player, and then he turned into a financier. And you said, interested, like, the fine, like, well, how, what extent of finance are you doing? Is this just something that you say to make you. seem fancy and the guy just seems to really like to look fancy um he had and he's a basketball player but he has player vibes all over him extremely good looking uh but he's the kind of guy that will just kind of like say anything he could come up with a line out of his butt and make it sound smooth and suave and seductive it just seems like everything's like a seduction line right and I'm worried that she might be seduced by his overall being.
Starting point is 00:34:46 But I don't think that there's a lot of substance right there right now. I think him and Sam very much are similar in that. Yeah? Sam, Sam General Contractor, Sam. Or no, who's got the first impression rose? What was his name? Oh, Sam M is the first impression. Get her, Sam N is the love virgin. I think those the first impressioners getter and grant remind me very similarly to each other
Starting point is 00:35:13 based in just how they say and how they have handled night one I'm always a little hesitant because both those dudes seemed a little too confident night one confident confident or egoistical which one is it yeah yeah are you confident or is your ego so big that you just could never admit that this is actually an environment that you should feel very uncomfortable in, that this is something very weird. And that's where my hesitancy comes because where does that confidence come from. But you know what? In the past, we've had this similar feeling that we just said about Sam and Grant. And these guys or these women end up sharing their story. And then we get to know them in a whole new light through a whole new lens and we're like, we really like them now.
Starting point is 00:36:01 That has happened. And I'm open to that. I just think as of right now, my guard. up. Yeah. My guard's up for Jen. Yeah. See, my guard's up with a lot of the guys. Except for dealing the doctor.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Dill of a medical student. I trust you. And John M. He's also a medical student a year older. Just a little bit more on the down low. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:36:25 What's the age ranges of these men, Ashley? I think it's probably 24 to mid-30s. Yeah. Well, I mean, that's a pretty good range.
Starting point is 00:36:35 like that and jens how old he is 26 yeah so we're right there I mean this is all it could be anybody you know there's nobody too young or too old really 24 is young I get that but that's also 24 I think
Starting point is 00:36:49 is Dylan right the meds do he seems very mature for his age he was talking about wanting to be a doctor at the age of 12 and like sharing to shadow doctors at that age because of his grandmother's breast cancer
Starting point is 00:37:02 that was very sweet that's very sweet I am excited for the rest of the season, Ashley. I do think there's some great things upon us and to close out this episode of episode one of Jen's season of The Bachelorette. Let's talk about now the kind of preview for the rest of the season.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Anything stand out to you there that makes you excited, nervous, or just memorable. Oh, yeah, Ben. I don't think she's ending up with anyone. Nah, same. I would say the same thing. I'm, like, pretty certain in that, like to the point where I might just like keep saying it and just stand by my thought the entire season.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Because when I interviewed her, which you guys, the interview comes out today, you can listen to it, she didn't seem giddy over anyone. You know how usually I can get somebody to sound giddy over someone? She didn't have that.
Starting point is 00:37:50 She didn't even have like the whole I'm happy thing. Well, maybe she was like, I feel good or like, you know, she like feels like good about her decision making. But she didn't make it seem like she was happy in love. and watching this
Starting point is 00:38:06 my only concern about just being so firm on saying that she doesn't end up with anyone is because I think that that's what they're trying to make it seem like having her put down the rows and pick it up and put it down and la la la la.
Starting point is 00:38:22 My feeling is that something happens in the course of the season that will make us very angry at a few of these guys and that Jen is going to get the raw end of the deal here and she's not going to end up with anybody and she's actually going to end up hurt. I don't think she's deciding not to end up with anybody
Starting point is 00:38:41 because she's just not interested. I think she ends up with nobody because she ends up getting hurt. And that's going to be very controversial. It is going to be extremely polarizing. It's also going to be very unfortunate. But this is my theory. I've been wrong before.
Starting point is 00:39:01 I've been wrong recently. I could be wrong now. But I would, I'm in your camp, Ashley. I think you and I here at the Almost Famous Podcast will say with confidence, we do not believe Jen ends up with anyone. And I think it will be the first time that she doesn't, like a lead doesn't end up with somebody for the reason that it's going to be. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:39:21 Like we've seen like Brad, what I guess Brad was just like, I don't really feel it enough with you. Or like that there's people being like, I just kind of want to date you. I feel like, yeah, you're right. it'll be new the ending will be unprecedented
Starting point is 00:39:37 speaking of a guy comes back from her past who has not been on the show before this is not like a Nick situation this is somebody who's just random
Starting point is 00:39:51 in her life past boyfriend or something and he wants to join the cast do you think he ends up joining the cast no I think this is way overplayed I think this would end up being a very small storyline that makes less since I think he's probably just like a hanger on her who shows up. And she asks the group and the group's like, no, that's stupid. And she's like, I agree.
Starting point is 00:40:12 This guy doesn't stand a chance and he gets out of there. I don't think he joins the cast. Well, and I say that because she's very clear in episode one that she's never had strong feelings for anybody in her past. Right. She says she's been hurt. Three boyfriends doesn't see when she's hanging on to anyone. She keeps saying that like the guys in my past are in my past for a. reason like i i've learned from them and i don't want to be with them so i'd have no i i would
Starting point is 00:40:37 think that there'd be nobody that would pop in that she'd be like oh but i forgot about you you deserve it could be somebody who you know things didn't go all the way with you know she didn't get into her relationship with them but like there was always a crush there i don't i don't know if i'm believing it okay i think i don't think this is a big storyline i think that it comes and goes and it's a great teaser but i do something think the teaser that sticks is that in the end um jim's really hurt and we're all going to be really mad about it and we're going to say what about that love story and we're going to wait till jones season to hopefully find one and we're all going to be really upset because we like jinn
Starting point is 00:41:17 and we like uh her with somebody but rock and roll jen she's going to be great she's she's already on night one showing signs to be captivating uh to be funny to be quick-witted and to be very flirtatious, which is obviously a very good thing for a lead. It feels like she has 40 dudes at this point. It's crazy who goes to Australia. Ashley, for the rest of the season, we'll be here at the Almost Famous Podcast.
Starting point is 00:41:50 At least one of us will be every week now. I think we should just sign off by saying, Ashley, I don't know if this is the week, but if it is, I wish you the best. If it's not, we'll see you next week. The Almost Famous Podcast Won't stop with or without Ashley and myself here We'll keep going
