Starting point is 00:00:47 A shocking public murder. This is one of the most dramatic events that really ever happened in New York City politics. I scream. Get down. Get down. Those are shots. A tragedy that's now forgotten. End of mystery.
Starting point is 00:01:02 That may or may not have been political. That may have been about. sex. Listen to Roershack, murder at City Hall on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins. But the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax. You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Ellen's, correct? I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Greg, a lesbian, Michael Mancini. My mind was blown.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl. Starting point is 00:02:07 behind it all. As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated. So you have to work extra hard in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity. You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Listen to It Girl with Bailey Taylor on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series. Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets. of F1, including the story of the woman who last participated in a Formula One race weekend, the recent uptick in F1 romance novels, and plenty of mishap scandals and sagas that have made
Starting point is 00:02:46 Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHart Radio. Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. I am back with Trista and Daisy Kenney. is now joining us to break down this week's headlines. Yay, Daisy. Thanks for having me. Thanks for having me.
Starting point is 00:03:14 So Trista, you and Ryan are on the cover of People Magazine this week, celebrating your anniversary. It's been 22 years. Why are they at the 22 mark? So where was your 20th anniversary people magazine cover? So we literally shot this. If you see Ryan's hair, like if you've seen me post about him in the last couple weeks, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:36 He has a lot more hair. than he does on the cover. We shot the cover, I think, in November, or maybe even October. Were they waiting for a week? They were going to do it for our anniversary. Okay. And then a bunch of things happened,
Starting point is 00:03:50 like Catherine O'Hara died, James Banderbeak, like a bunch of cover stories that kept bumping us. So this is where it ended up. They were going to do it for Valentine's Day. Oh, that's cute. So anyway, they were doing it
Starting point is 00:04:05 to coincide with The Bachelorette. And then of course everything. Oh. Yeah. I got a brand box. Yeah. From one of our faves. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:13 And I wonder how that brand deal went because it was all in like coordination. I know what you're talking about. There's so many things out there that just were planned to go live. I can't tell. Yeah. I've seen the Twizzler ads that are all over to talk. Jen Trintern did a twizzler ad. So there's a whole bunch of Twizzler ads that just started airing this.
Starting point is 00:04:36 last week that were like, I'm getting ready to have a girls night in, so I'm going to make my dirty soda and use my Twizzlers straw. No way. And they all keep saying the same thing. I'm getting ready for a night with the girls. Uh-huh. Or a watch party with the girls. Yeah, because you were supposed to watch the shirt.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Friends are out there. Yeah. They're having a time. They stopped sending me stuff with, which by the way. You stopped sending you stuff.
Starting point is 00:05:06 whoever, if you're talking about the same brand that I think you're talking about, they stop sending me stuff. I'm like, where's how back? It was cute. Well, wait, I want to talk about your cover for one more a second. How crazy is it that you guys were on TV like 22 years ago, actually probably more? And then you're still getting people magazine covers.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's crazy. Blake's Lee and I walked into the, to Hudson News, you know, at the airport. And she's been in Rome, like on a school trip. And so she didn't know that the cover had come out. Like she was part of the photo shoot, obviously. And knew that the cover was going to come out, but she didn't know it was out now. And so we walk into Hudson News and I recorded her. I was like, I wonder if she's going to see it.
Starting point is 00:05:48 She was like, is that you? I saw the picture on your story. That's so cute. She wouldn't recreate it for me to put it on my story. So I was like, whatever, it's fine. I'll just put this. But yeah, it is very strange. It's very strange.
Starting point is 00:06:05 It doesn't seem real. You know, that I'm on the cover of magazine, especially People Magazine, which is like our favorite magazine. But like are magazines even a thing anymore? I still think it's quite coveted to get the powder of people. I do feel honored. So thank you People Magazine for having us.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Wow. Super awesome. It was fun. Going to some not super awesome news. I don't know how to transition. Katie Thurston reveals that she's taking a break from cancer treatments and getting a double mastectomy. We know that she's been kind of, you know, wanting to get the double mastectomy for a while. So she said on Instagram this week, I'm taking a break.
Starting point is 00:06:46 My cancer treatment consists of, you know, there's all these different drug names. Luprin injection, a latrosal. I don't know. I'm not even going to say a pill. Three weeks of this other thing. And then one week off of recovery. I'm closely monitored to determine dose reductions or extended breaks. In January, I took a one-month medication break.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And then she went back on it. She's just giving all the details of her treatment. And then she said, unfortunately, the recovery is taking longer than I hope. To my double mastectomy, I have surgery scheduled for on April 29th for the removal of both my breasts. This surgery was already reschedule once and I won't delay it again. because of the timing of the medication break and liver recovery, the date of my surgery, which also requires pausing one of the drugs. She's going to continue to pause treatment for another two months.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Basically, she's just saying that, like, there's a lot going on in her treatment. And I'm going to take a break, a week offline, to focus on my health and my habits. It's easy to do and scroll. And I can't imagine what her algorithm looks like. Did you imagine, like, your algorithm is so tailored to what you're going through in your life that like you can't imagine. Like I just, her entire algorithm,
Starting point is 00:08:00 those must be like cancer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. To get back to like a healthier lifestyle, get her steps in, get sleep,
Starting point is 00:08:07 get back to meal prepping, working out, not trying to be dramatic about announcing my time away. I'm okay. I'm going to be okay. I just need to reset. Thank you for your love and support cancer. Totally.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yeah. That's a lot. Like, ugh, I feel so bad for what she's going through. But I really. She has such a positive outlook though. She really does.
Starting point is 00:08:26 She does. I am so proud of her for just staying so positive with everything, especially because she got diagnosed incorrectly and then going. She did. I thought it was a different form of breast cancer. So she actually was about to start a treatment that wasn't suitable for her. Oh, really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Yes. And she's just so positive. I just, I am so proud of her. Yeah. She is absolutely saving lives by sharing her experience because what kind of, Is she 35? You know? Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:00 It's rare, but becoming increasingly more common for girls in their 30s to get breast cancer. So she is like, she's out there bringing it to the forefront for a lot of 30-somethings. Okay. So you'd be checking their boobies more often. Yeah. Okay. So Ali Fedatowski's also going through a medical diagnosis. And Daisy, I really want you to jump in here because she's having an E&T probably, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:25 something with, she's going to see the E&T, the ear, nose and throat doctor, because she's said that her hearing has just been off. She's been officially diagnosed with a eustachian tube dysfunction. So it just like kind of does it make your hearing go in and out? Are you familiar with this? Yeah, probably makes it go in and out. If I'm right, it's like not releasing fluid correctly in her inner ear. And tell me if this makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:49 She says that she always has to pop her ears. Yeah, probably. Yeah, if that's not a doctor. but I think from what I'm not. No, I'm just kidding. But no, that's the worst when you can't hear, especially when they can't, like, figure out how to make it, like, better.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Yeah. It's so frustrating. So she said that she's been to two E&Ts. They just keep telling her to keep up with Flonais. That's what she's been doing for three and a half years, and it isn't working. So she's hoping to get some answers soon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:17 And, like, might be getting this procedure done. She said on her stories that I think she's looking into getting her, tubes put in. Like you usually hear about kids getting that done. Kids doing that, yeah. Because just keep the canal open and like clear for fluid. Yeah. She should go to another E&T.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Yeah, you're going to give her a recommendation. Yeah. But it's frustrating too because I went to so many doctors that couldn't figure out like what was going on with me. And then I ended up getting a cochlear implant, but I like love my E&T now, my surgeon. I think about what you want overseas for. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah, that was crazy. That procedure and how it like flipped your life upside down the right direction. Yeah. What was that? It is crazy. I forgot about this. I went to Germany. Her Lyme disease.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Yeah. Yeah. It was like the year after I graduated college. Did we talk about this in the, maybe. In the room in Seattle. Because Ryan went through lines. Yes, right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Okay. And so. Yeah. Yeah. But I was like really sick. I like couldn't even walk. And then I went over, did that treatment. And I was there for a month and they heat your body up.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Yes. They overheat you. Yes. You have told me about this. I hope they froze. Like they got you really cold. No, they heat you. So they heat you up.
Starting point is 00:11:30 You have to go over. I think it's like 106.7 degrees. Because like if you have Lyme for a long time, it has like a hard shell over it. Yeah. And so to like crack it open to get to the inside, the only thing that can do it is extreme heat. And so they put you to sleep and do that for like eight hours. And then you do like plasma fiercest where they like take out your plasma and clean it and getting like so many injections. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:52 This is some futuristic jets and stuff. Yeah, but it was like, it was really difficult when I was there. But then like a month after I left, it was like, I was like, well, I can't believe, like, I felt that way for so long. And then you just felt better. Yeah. Like magic. And then the only thing is my hearing, but. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Wow. Yeah. Do you think you're hearing? I want to tell everybody was because of the Lyme? They're not entirely sure because I, they definitely, I have Meneer's disease and, like, Lyme can cause hearing loss. Okay. but to have my ear's disease as young as like I was when I got diagnosed. Like most people don't get it until they're like 55.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I'm pretty sure. And so, but I also don't respond to normal treatments that people do. And it's rare for it to affect you on both sides. So they're not really entirely sure. They think it could be like a mix of things. Yeah. And I don't mean to say the Jetsons.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Like what? I've just been watching the Jetsons with Dawson. So I was like thinking about a futuristic show. This is definitely more. You're so funny. Stephen Spielberg than that. The newest tracks. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:13:03 New music. And the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all. I heart new music. Your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers. I think we need something new. Discover I heart new music.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Always fresh. Always first. Stream now. on the free IHard Radio app. Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade? Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
Starting point is 00:13:51 And how did a 2023 event called Wagageddon change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory. I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on No Grip, a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport. In each episode, a different guest and I will go deeper into the wacky mishap, scandals, and sagas, both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Listen to No Grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Bailey Taylor and this is it girl. You may know me from my It Girl series I've done on the streets of New York over the years. Well, I've got good news. I am bringing those interviews and many more to this podcast. Yes, we will talk about the style and the success, but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work with the women's shaping culture right now.
Starting point is 00:14:56 As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated. So you have to work extra hard and you have to push the narrative in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity. You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Each week, I have unfiltered conversations with female founders, creatives, and leaders to talk about ambition, visibility, and what it really takes to build something meaningful in the public eye. Because being an it girl isn't about the spotlight, it's about owning it. I think the negatives need to be discussed and they need to be told to people who maybe don't do this every day,
Starting point is 00:15:27 just so they know what's really going on. I feel like pulling the curtain back is important. Listen to It Girl with Bailey Taylor on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court, we've got you covered on the podcast, flagrant and funny. You look at the top four number one seeds. What do you think UCLA is going to do?
Starting point is 00:15:51 Break down that for me, my friend. Obviously, Yukon is the overwhelming favorite in this tournament. But I'll be honest, I think people are kind of sleeping on Texas. Experts are suggesting that UCLA is the number one challenger to Yukon and that right after that would be Texas. S&C is so deep and so thick and just about everything. It really is annoying. So it's UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, LSU.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Only ones that could possibly upset Yukon. On Flagrant and Funny, we're giving our unfiltered takes on the biggest moments of the conversations everyone's having. So whether your bracket is busted or you just want the latest on the tournament, we got you. Listen to Flakron and Funny with Carrie Champion and Jamel Hill on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:16:32 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. I'm Lori Siegel, a longtime tech journalist. And consider my new podcast, mostly human, your bridge to the future. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur. Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future.
Starting point is 00:16:54 And we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you. What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this. We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history. And let's be honest, that can be messy. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment. Mostly human will show you how.
Starting point is 00:17:26 My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit. The reason I say agency is because if we can give power back, to people, then I think that's probably the best thing we can do for your mental health. Listen to mostly human on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Next headline, Bachelor Nation alum, Katie Morton, who you guys would remember from Colton's season and also being engaged to Chris Bukowski from Bachelor in Paradise. Oh.
Starting point is 00:18:03 She married a man named Nick in London this past week. And Katie, actually, cool story about Katie. So she had met another boyfriend and moved to England for him. No way. They didn't work out. And apparently it was all meant to be that she lived there because here she is marrying a Brit now. Everything works out for a reason. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:28 So they got like a courthouse wedding, very cute, casual but beautiful black and white photos. She says that they plan on having a big celebration in 27. Love it. Congratulations to Katie. Congrats, Katie. In other marriage news, there was some AI photos floating around about Jonathan Johnson, which, you know, I didn't realize that Jonathan from Jen Seasons last name was Johnson. I did not either.
Starting point is 00:18:56 I say this like, you know, I mean like, Jonathan Johnson. I need my kid Hayden Hayden, so, you know. That is so true. I love me. You just called yourself out. I was so good. So he and Jen had a picture of them floating around the internet this week of the two of them married. There is like a picture of their supposed wedding, which never happened.
Starting point is 00:19:23 They were both wearing wedding attire, smiling, kissing. Jen's holding up her hand to show off the wedding ring. And then Jonathan screenshot this. And he was like, guys, why? He had just came, you know, made a hard launch with his girlfriend, Morgan. He's like, what in the actual F is this? I legitimately have a girlfriend. And now you wonder why, like, I stayed discreet online.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Jonathan, we love you, but you're not discreet, my love. No. No. He goes in case, like, you couldn't figure out this is 1,000% AI. Yeah, which goes to show never believe what you see anymore. Even if you see it with your own eyes, it might be fake. Especially, and I have experience with this, the Bachelor News. It's called
Starting point is 00:20:08 Bachelor News on Facebook. They said that I had cancer. They said that you had cancer, that I had Alzheimer's, that Lauren Zeno was pregnant, that I was going to be a grandmother. So that meant one of my children was going to be a father or mother.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I mean, it's ridiculous. And no one, no one gets them like ended. Like, can we get this website canceled or this Facebook page canceled? Like, why can't they get canceled? Because they make up lies about everything. Everybody.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Yeah. And you all was sad. Like, my friends, I was, they were the ones who told me about this headline about me having cancer. They're like, this is so like, I get, I'm so sorry for this. I'm like, that doesn't phase me. What phases me is that in the comments, people are like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for her and her young family. Like, I hope I'm praying for them. I know.
Starting point is 00:20:56 And I'm like, oh, my gosh, these sweet people are like putting me in their prayers on this fake news. Because these people are, it's so sad. Whoever runs that page. Yeah. I'm sorry. This is a fun headline. Gabby Wendley is saying that her new dating show called Love Overboard is like national geographic for hot, horny people.
Starting point is 00:21:18 So this is the show that is executive produced by Alex Cooper. They taped it in June. And it's a whole bunch of sexy singles that are looking for love, but it's on like a big yacht. It's a luxury yacht series that's kind of like, was it overboard? Wait, was it going? Overboard, yeah. Below deck. Overboard is the movie.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Yeah. Okay. So it's like below deck where there's some people working if they're not coupled off. So if you're coupled up, you get to go live in this suite, a beautiful suite on the top of the yacht. Yeah. Of the yacht. And then everybody else who's not coupled up has to serve them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:56 And there's ways to like get up after them. I clean up after them. Get like, you know, you can move up the ranks by like certain competitions. And then the ultimate way to move up. and get into that yacht, that upper yacht room, is to break up a couple. This sounds like hell on earth for me to be part of.
Starting point is 00:22:17 This sounds like the worst reality show for me. But as Gabby says, she actually got Cass as the host for this because she called them all perverted, disgusting sex fiends. She says that I notoriously say no to everything, but I knew this was going to be different. And then she did like a chemistry test with some of the cast.
Starting point is 00:22:44 She goes, I like worked my ass off. That's exactly what I did in the chemistry test. I was calling everyone a pervert, a sick freak, and they loved it. Here I am. That is really funny because like Gabby is no prude. Gabby is not prude at all. So for her to think that these people are kind of gross. I'm like excited to watch.
Starting point is 00:23:05 I think they dropped all that. episodes, right? They have. Almost famous is recapping it, so there will be a whole of their podcast on that. That's hilarious. Yes, I love that she says. She thinks they're overtly sexual for her who I think is a very sexual person. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:20 She said, tell me Millie Bobby Brown is my competition and I'm going to work my ass off. That's so funny. That's so funny. She notoriously says, yeah, no to everything and I like notoriously will say yes to everything. Our final headline we would like to create here. We would like to create that here.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I think you can create it because of the pictures that you just posted. I thought you got married. I thought those photos were you guys actually eloped, but no, those are your engagement photos? Yeah. So gorgeous. What's going on? I was like, okay,
Starting point is 00:23:53 since we're getting married, we're doing engagement photos. But they were so fun. The photographer was great. And like Thor doesn't like taking photos and he was great with him, too. But it was so fun. They were beautiful.
Starting point is 00:24:05 So did you pick out your dress? Yeah, I did. Yeah. And the wedding is? The wedding is December 19th. Okay. Oh my goodness gracious. And is it like the engagement photos?
Starting point is 00:24:17 Will it be in a colder climate? Okay. Love it. Yeah, we wanted to do a winter wedding. So love it. Do you think you would be here in this engagement moment with him if you didn't do The Bachelor? I honestly don't know. Because you guys met.
Starting point is 00:24:34 each other before the show. Yeah, we met each other in college. Yeah. And then we dated for a little bit in college, broke up. Yeah. And then I, like, dated people in between and then went on the Bachelor. And then after the show. Did he get jealous seeing you on The Bachelor?
Starting point is 00:24:50 I, well, yeah, I think so. But I think I picked him into games. He was like, I can't wait for me. Watch it, but I remember when I got back, all my friends were like, because we have the same friend group and they were like, Thor's freaking out. Yeah. I was like, what do you guys? I always say.
Starting point is 00:25:07 And I got him now. And I was like, well, I got to figure out my life. Because I always say, you're not sure. Yeah. If you need a guy to pull a trigger and get in a relationship, you just have to get another boyfriend. And if he doesn't want you and you have another boyfriend, he's just not going to want you. But I was like, I thought it was so over and moved past it because it had been four years.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Four years. Four years. Since like you guys ever had your thing. Yeah. it's a long time yeah so that was like gone yeah but he was still thinking about it so who names are kid thor so he actually right i've always wanted to ask this what it's like it's so funny so his like grandpa wanted him to be named thunder so then they named him thor but it was like before they wanted one kid i think one kid to be
Starting point is 00:26:03 named lightning and the other one Thunder, the like Grandpa did. And then they named him Thor. It was before the movies came out. Yeah, I was going to say, this was before the cartoon, like the character. Wait,
Starting point is 00:26:13 and I think I told. So it would be less weird if it's still quite a because people like, when you have to like say your name and he's like, oh, I'm Thor and I'm like, I'm Daisy. And people are like, what the fuck are those names?
Starting point is 00:26:28 Like you guys sound like basically villain versus protagonist. You want to have a total. cartoon characters. Oh my gosh. You need to do a cartoon. And then one of our best friends from college, his name is Wolf.
Starting point is 00:26:40 No way. Yeah. Like legit. That's his first. You guys sound like you could be in Twilight together basically. Literally. That's awesome. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Well, guys, that was so fun. So fun. We're going to head to the I Heart Radio Music Awards now. We'll give you a little recap about that. I'm sure in our next headlines. And my big premieres next week, guys. So hopefully things are fine. They are going to be great.
Starting point is 00:27:08 They're going to be great. We love you all. Until next time, I've been Ashley. I've been Trista. I'm Daisy. Bye. Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast on IHartRadio
Starting point is 00:27:19 or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. I'm Lori Siegel, and on my new podcast, mostly human, I'll take you to some wild corners of the tech world. I'm about to go on a date with an AI companion
Starting point is 00:27:32 at a real world cafe right here in New York City. There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you. Mostly Human is your playbook for how tech can work for you. Anyone can now be an entrepreneur. Anyone can build an app. And it's very empowering. Listen to Mostly Human on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:27:53 or wherever you listen to your favorite shows. Five, City Hall building. How could this have happened in City Hall? Somebody tell me that. A shock game. public murder.
