Let's start with a quick puzzle.
The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land?
Jeopardy Truthers believe in...
I guess they would be conspiracy theorists.
That's right.
To give you the answers and you still blew it.
The puzzler. Listen on the eye.
Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where a comedian finds himself at the center of a
chilling true crime story.
Does anyone know what show they've come to see?
It's a story.
It's about the scariest night of my life.
This is Wisecrack, available now.
Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.

This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Hi, everybody, Bob Guinea and Trista Sutter here on Almost Famous, the OGs.
Looking adorable, as always, Trista.
I love your little stock and cap.
Is this what they do these days?
They do this.
That's what the kids do?
They do these things?
That's what the kids do.
Kind of looks like the IHeart Radio logo.
Oh, that's true.
Like an upside-down.
Well, no, not an upside-down heart.
A heart, yeah, they like frame their face.
So, yeah, that's me for the people who can't see us but are just listening.
Hi, everybody.
Wasn't so pale today.
I love where you, where are you right now?
This is our basement.
So we have a-
I love it.
I love the wine cellar.
I know.
It's one of those notch-outs in the basement that, I'm sure Brad will appreciate this,
being aficionado of, I mean, I know he does some home renovation stuff too.
I know that.
But, yeah, very excited about our guests today, Brad Womack.
I happen to really genuinely like this guy.
Yeah, same.
One of the few, or one of the only, actually, the only two-time Bachelor,
the only guy to go through that process more than once.
Yeah.
That's not true.
Nick.
Oh, yeah.
Well, Nick was never The Bachelor.
Nick was only The Bachelor once.
Nick Vile?
Nick Vile was on The Bachelorette.
Then he came as a late ad to another season of The Bachelorette.
Then he was on Bachelor Pat.
The dude was on every show that they have.
But he was only a Bachelor one time.
Yeah.
True.
So Brad is the only one that's ever actually been through the gauntlet as the main man more than once.
Pretty crazy.
Crazy.
Excited to talk to him.
Excited to show him what the other side of being The Bachelor is because I have a sick wife today and my baby is walking around here.
Oh, no.
Yeah.
Amelessly.
So we're going to have a, we're going to have a.
a guest appearance by Blake at any given moment here.
But it looks like Brad's coming in.
Now, you guys, I'm just going to tell you,
I saw a picture of Brad and Harrison on Instagram this past week.
The beard.
Brad's got the beard, the beard of madness.
He looks amazing.
The beard of madness.
Why do you call it a beard of madness?
Hey, guys.
There he is.
Look at this guy.
Let's up.
Look at YouTube.
Hey, I have to say, thank you so much for even asking me to be on this.
Leslie from you too. You guys were always my favorite. I'm not just saying that.
Oh, dude. How much do we owe you? How much do you? Exactly. We'll talk about it later.
Times are hard right now. Times are hard.
It's so good to see you both. It really is.
You too. We were just talking about before you joined us how genuinely you've always been
one of my very favorite people that have ever been on this show. And then to go through the
gauntlet and do it twice makes you, I mean, you are in your own category, my friend. I know that
No one's ever done.
We've had people that have been on like, you know, obviously, Bachelorette and Bachelor,
but never anyone who's been the lead twice.
So that's just mind-blowing that you were able to get through it.
You know, I don't know if that makes me a glutton for punishment or, you know,
I truly do believe in the process.
I'm not just saying that.
You know what I mean?
And so we've all heard, I'm here for the right reasons a million times, right?
We've all heard that.
So I won't even say that.
But I truly am a romantic.
And I think you can meet somebody no matter what the circumstances and what better way to do it, right?
So, that's been amazing people and had a great time.
So failed miserably twice, but still.
I've done that twice with marriage and it didn't stop me from going for a third try.
I love it.
Sometimes it's not work out.
Things don't work out.
Hey, Brad.
Hey, Brad.
So obviously you were, you know, maybe.
unsuccessful is the word on the bachelor but are you dating now like have you have you met someone and
are you dating anyone currently i am and and things are good you know um uh you know we're taking it slow
of course you know and you kind of have to it's funny that uh you know in spite of what i did in the
past i'm really a private guy and and um i don't know why i'm even bringing that up it's just
She and I would take it really slow, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
And so, yeah, things are really good in that department.
I don't know if there's a marriage in the future.
I have no idea.
But I'm not opposed to it and looking forward to seeing what the future holds, you know.
So yes, to answer your question, I'm happy.
That's great, man.
Couldn't happen to a better guy.
I love your.
Well, thank you.
And I think of something about you, man.
You know what?
I heard you saying something.
Trust me, I don't want to commandeer anything,
but that you had seen that Chris and I ate dinner.
Well, both of you came up over dinner, of course.
I want to say to both of you, you guys were always really good to me.
Bob, I remember when I first met you.
And then, Trissa, you and Ryan both were really good to me.
And by the way, I hope he's doing well.
I heard some, he's having some health issues,
but the guy, of course, will persevere.
He's just such a good guy.
But anyway, thank you both.
So, yeah, and seeing Chris, of course, I love the guy to death.
So it's just blast from the past.
I was with Chris in Vegas and not too long ago.
And your name came up, Brad.
Well, of course, Trista did as well.
But Brad, yours came up, too, as someone who, you know, people can think what they want about,
oh, he went on this season and he walked away with no one.
But that takes more courage, honestly, because people don't understand the pressure that's on you.
you know, oh, you know, you need to propose, you need to propose.
And I mean, I got so much grief just for giving a promise ring, right?
I mean, not everyone's always going to be like Trista and Ryan, which are the gold standard, obviously.
And I mean that sincerely, you know I do, Tristan.
And it was like one of those things where you were, you were courageous enough to be like, you know what, man, let the chips fall where they may.
I didn't find my person.
I'm walking away.
Yeah.
That is like, I mean, I'm telling you from an intimate conversation that I had with Harrison when I was on the
show and that that came up as an option well right and and i remember saying i was like i don't
know how i feel you know whatever and he was like well you can you got at least date one of them
right i'm like okay yeah i'll do that so then when i go to i think i think i'm doing this great
thing by dating him and then you get so much grief for that it's like oh my god you know you
you were just like courageous and that took a lot of a lot of gumption especially back then
where the show was because now little weird you know twist and turns are common right back then
Not at all.
You know, I really appreciate you saying that.
And one thing I'll say, and especially speaking with someone that shares perspective, right?
Because both of you guys know the drill, so to speak.
But, man, I give you my word.
The only thing I was thinking is about Jenny and Deanna.
They were both, and I really sincerely mean this, such good women that I just didn't want to lead them on.
And I didn't know what was going to happen in the future.
but I think all three of us knew that there wasn't a future for either one of us.
So I'm going in that direction.
And I didn't want to sell out, of course.
And I didn't want to lead anyone on.
But you're right, man, I got beat up.
I got beat to a pope.
And you got beat up, right?
You were villainized, like villainized.
And I was like, why is this happening?
He is such a good guy.
I feel the same way that Bob does.
I feel like it is so courageous to,
to kind of, and were you the first one? Yeah, you were the first one. Maybe was, has anyone done it
since, Bob? Has anyone not chosen someone? I don't think so. I think everyone's at least tried a date or
something like that. I can't, I mean, I don't think, I think Brad was the only one that was just like,
you know what? I don't feel it. I got to go. Yeah. I mean, that took some major, major.
And that is honesty. Isn't that what people want in a relationship? Don't you want honesty? I don't
want to be with someone. I wouldn't want to be with someone. Like, if I had been on your show and I was
in Deanna or Jenny's shoes, if I was them, I would not have wanted someone to just pick me just
because I would want someone to pick me because they wanted me and they saw a future. So I
would much rather have you have broken my heart in that moment, like kind of like how Alex did
to me on the first season. I was like, if you don't want me, then I'm sad. Like, I'm sad that this is
over, but I'm okay. Like, I think I said, I'm sad, but I'll be fine, you know, because I knew that
I didn't want to be with someone who didn't want me. So anyway, yeah. Again, thank you very much,
and especially, like I said, coming from both of you guys, it means a lot. And, you know,
still to this day, I think so highly of both the honor and Jenny. And trust me, we all know,
and I've made this joke before, but I did them both a favor. I mean, they're doing much better
They don't want me.
And so, you know, hindsight's always 20-20.
And so Jenny and Deanna, you're very welcome.
I don't know what else is.
Stop.
Have you talked to either of them?
Have you talked to them since?
You know, when I was taping the second time I was on, I have.
And, you know, when adults move on and people get married,
I think there's a respect factor there.
I know they're both very happy.
And I've got to tell you, even with Emily, who I think the absolute world of the second,
and I mean this, the second I heard that she was happily engaged or married.
But we stopped communication.
I mean, there's, I sent her one message saying, hey, I'm genuinely happy for you.
I really am.
And then you kind of respect the other significant other that she's with.
And you don't want to cross boundaries, right?
And so, yeah, so I don't get into that territory at all.
I'm just happy for how things played out.
Of course.
I think especially when it's been a, well, maybe not especially,
but in particular when it's been a public relationship, right?
It's like, you almost have to, you know, like I was that way with Estella.
When I found out Estella, I got engaged, I texted her.
I said, hey, I'm so happy for you.
Congratulations.
And then I was just sort of like, you know, and we've kept in contact over the years
because she and my mom are like Facebook friends, you know.
And so it's always been one of those types of things, but I was, I was so happy for her.
Much like Brad, I remember saying on my season, I remember staying at a row ceremony,
I'm like, believe me, ladies, none of you want, this is no prize.
This is, uh, I love it.
I love it, Bob.
I love it.
But you are, of course.
I mean, you are.
Bless you, you, we're all made for somebody, right?
And, um, and, you know, and I, and Trista, to your point, too, I do want to say one thing
that, um, whether people believe this or not, I was just heartbroken.
as both Cheney and Deanna, too, walking away.
I really was.
I was accused of being almost emotionless and downright cold.
And I can promise, you know, I have nothing to gain by saying this now.
But that's just not who I am.
But anyway, Bob, yeah, I share that sense of humor that, hey, look, man,
I guarantee every anniversary those two ladies are hugging their men, even tighter,
and like, look who I could have been with.
Yeah, thank you.
You say, but who dies the bullet there.
No kidding. No kidding. I think I've often said it that anything I've ever been at about you in particular, Brad, when whenever you know, whenever you would come up and people would like, you know, what did you think about that? And I would always say it. I'm like, I'm like, think what you want about the guy. I'm like, which I will be honest. Usually it was always very favorable, very nice about you too. I mean, I know how that feels though. Because I mean, when you feel like you're the villain, you're just like, oh my God. But I would always say to him. I'm like, meet him for five minutes. And if you can walk away after five minutes and think that guy, that guy.
has no heart, no emotion.
I'm like, trust me, quite the opposite.
Like, me, I think you know.
Thank you very much.
And again, thank you.
I really appreciate it, especially coming from someone that can share the perspective.
It's a, it's an ordeal.
That show is an ordeal.
And you're kind of wrong through the ringer, right?
And I see you smile and Trist.
I mean, you are the bachelor and the bachelorette.
I mean, and I say, again, I say that favorably, right?
And so, but you get it.
You know, you're so.
Yeah.
not used and abused, but you go through some emotional turmoil, right?
And I'm kind of ready for a breather.
So anyway, thank you, Bob, because I do care what people think of me.
And, you know, anyway, and things are better now.
They better be.
It's been over a decade.
You're at 10.
What are you at 12 years?
Is it 12 years for you when you were the best?
Was it 2010?
First time was 2007.
Second time was 2010.
So we're going on a long time.
man. That makes me geriatric in this world.
You know what I'm kidding.

A foot washed up
a shoe with some bones in it.
They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the
fire that not a whole lot was
salvageable. These are the
coldest of cold cases.
But everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.
Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.
He never thought he was going to get caught.
And I just looked at my computer screen.
I was just like, ah, got you.
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors.
And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable.

faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional
programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aimed to provide a shock of prison life,
emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell of a hell of
awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.

My name is Ed.
Everyone say, hello, Ed.
From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin.
So, like, it's not like...
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy comedy?
Club. I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years
ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian
with a story that no one expected to hear. Well, 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man
had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime
producer walks into a comedy club, a new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder
takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. I have something to say about geriatrics, okay? So we always
joke. We're the dinosaurs, you know, whatever. Sure. Your birthday. I have. I have something to say about geriatrics, okay? So we always joke. We're the dinosaurs, you know,
whatever. Your birthday, I just saw, because we have, you know, we have producers who do a little
like work beforehand and they got us some research. Your birthday is November 10th, 1972. Mine is
October 28th, 1972. So I turned 50 like two weeks before you. You got your birthday.
Let me tell you. Let me tell you something because you, and I say this as respectfully as can be, you look,
Amazing.
I would never, ever, ever, ever believe.
Well, thank you.
And, you know, I got to tell you.
Guys, I'm still here.
Still, oh, hey, Bob, hey, Bob.
Sorry.
See what happens when a pretty girl comes in?
I know.
Everybody's just.
You know, Tris, I'll tell you this.
And I hope you're the same way.
I, uh, I feel better at 50 than I ever have in my life.
Hey, and I truly do that.
You know, you know, there's a level of confidence you gain.
There's a level of security.
And, um, you know,
you just realized life is really good, you know, and obviously you and Ryan are so happy.
And so anyway, happy belated birthday, you look amazing.
Thank you.
And right back at you, did you do anything fun for your 50th?
Or do you have any plans this year to do anything fun?
I do.
And I'll tell you this, I'm very happy to say, so I couldn't travel on my birthday.
There were some things going on here in Austin.
But December 7th, I'm heading out to Maui.
And I'm going to spend some time out there just.
to kind of decompressed, you know. I'm a real big believer in taking some time to yourself.
Believe it or not. And you're going to wonder why I'm actually going on this trip solo just to
kind of hike and bike. You are. Yeah, I know. I know. I don't trust me. No, there's not trouble in
paradise. That's awesome. Courage. Holy cow. I don't think I could do that. Just because I feel like
I'm a whip. Like, I feel like I would be scared all the time.
No, I can have two kids. I could do it next week. I could.
I'm like, come on. You know what? I would love it if you join me, buddy.
Oh, my gosh. How fun. That's so amazing.
I don't think I wanted anyone to have to push me in the wheelchair around the island because I'm old now.
You know, but yeah, no, so that's the big kind of culmination of a really good year, 50 years on the planet, and kind of just, you know, decompressed a little bit.
How about you? How'd you celebrate? Did you do something big?
So, Ryan, I was begging, Ryan and my daughter especially knew that I wanted a surprise party.
I wanted one forever.
And I feel like it's just so intimidating to plan a surprise party, especially because, you know,
I have a lot of friends from here and there and everywhere.
And for Ryan to like not to actually invite all the people that should be invited, I think was probably intimidating for him.
So anyway, he ended up doing it.
He pulled it off, but he had a surprise party for me with so many friends.
Actually, somebody that you guys both know, I think.
Haley Platt, and I don't know, her maiden name was Crittenden.
She was on, Bob, you know her.
Yeah, Haley, I love her.
Oh, yeah, okay.
What season was she on?
I can't remember.
I always say Haley Crittenden, but you said it's Crittenden?
Crittenden, sorry, yes, yes, that's probably right.
But her married name is Platt now anyway, so it doesn't matter.
She may have been a producer, I mean, she may have been a producer by the time Brad came along.
Because didn't she work on the show first or a while?
I thought so.
Oh, you might be right.
Anyway, so she flew in town.
My parents came in.
I hadn't seen my dad and my stepmom in a year.
They all surprised me.
And it was, it was awesome.
I love it.
I feel like Brad not, our invitation got lost in mail, Brad.
But it's okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
See?
See what I'm saying, Bob?
Ryan had the list and I feel bad like he he has all these people that he has to remember
and he's like I just don't know how I'm I would never I would never be mad about something like
that believe me right well well Bob it sounds like we have to learn from Ryan still I mean the guy
is good he is really good I still vividly remember your season Tristan the guy is just good
and and so you tell that man job well done and he's doing something right for you guys to be so happy
so long. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love seeing it too. It really is something.
It's enviable. You know, it's one of those things you see somebody getting it right, especially
as we know, Brad, you know, coming through the show from the relationship standpoint, you got to do
it different to survive. And Tristan and Ryan were the first ones to do it different. Everybody
else sort of, including myself, went down this other path, which was, oh yeah, I guess we just do
everything that we're supposed to do. And, you know, that wasn't in Ryan's DNA. And it was okay.
And Trista was okay with it, you know?
Oh, yeah.
Trista was like, I got this, you know, and it was okay, you know.
Well, it's actually much more authentic, obviously, and, you know, and that pays off.
And so, but Bob, you're happy as can be now, too, huh?
I hear that life is really good on your end.
You know, it's definitely fun.
Thank you.
I mean, wait until I was 48 to have two kids.
That's pretty smart.
So I, you know, I'm 51 now, guys.
And, you know, no one has me?
Yes.
Yeah.
May 1, 1971 is my day.
Buddy, I want to drink the water you're drinking.
So, you know, I'm telling you, this is all unfair.
I love this.
I love it.
And so keep going, buddy.
Keep going.
You're doing great.
I got, you know, I got two little dudes, three and a half and one.
And it's pretty awesome.
You know, I will say, I didn't much like you, Brad, I mean, you know, after the show and
everything, I got married and divorce.
And I was kind of like, I really like, you know, I'm single.
I'm okay.
Sure.
Good. And then met somebody and thought, wow, maybe I do want a family. Maybe I do want these things. And the chips just sort of fell in place. And, you know, it's interesting. I will say this, at our age, having really young children, they're, I mean, I always make the joke that a t-ball games are going to be like, your grandpa is so sweet. He comes to every game.
You know, I don't have a little junior, you know. But it's the truth. I mean, it's going to be the case. But it's a different perspective, though. You know, I see all the young.
parents running around and I just sort of like hang back and you know it's just a different
mindset you know my kid falls down I'm like oops he'll be all right well you just have more
wisdom to give to them you know and and and so there you know I've always I've always believed
there's no set schedule in life right and so you're doing the you're doing everything that
to make you happy and and it shows on your face I mean it just shows you buddy and so
No way, you said drink in the water.
There's no water in this body whatsoever.
It's all the hotline.
Actually, it's wine.
I see the wine behind you.
I actually want to fly over and crack over the bottom.
I'm like, that is a sweet wine cave.
I love it.
It's amazing.
You know, I mean, let's see, I moved to New York.
I lived in L.A.
I lived in Seattle.
It's amazing what buying and selling houses in those markets can get you back home in Michigan.
Right.
Well, I'm happy for you.
I tell you, it's funny because I'm literally sitting in one of our bars right now.
It looks so cool.
Well, no, the only reason I'm saying that is you have a better wine selection than I do, David.
I need it. After all this is over, I'm going to text you like, hey, man, what do I need to order?
You know?
You actually said to Trista, I'm like, I know, I'm like, I have a feeling that Brad's going to like this because I know you, you've done some home renovation stuff.
I mean, you've done, you jack of all trades.
I know that, but, you know, I visited one of your bars at one time.
I was down there in Austin, and it was just so cool, man.
I mean.
Well, thank you.
I appreciate it.
Tell us about him.
Tell us about him.
So what are, what bars do you own or restaurants?
Um, so we have the one main one is called the Dogwood.
We, uh, we currently have four of those.
We have, um, awesome.
Uh, just in Austin?
No, uh, two in Austin.
One in Houston, one in Nashville, which I'm really excited about Nashville.
Oh, love it.
Yeah, in fact, I actually moved to Nashville in 2019 whenever we were building the bar.
And, um, I got to tell you, it's a close contender for me.
Austin will always be home.
but Nashville I love
absolutely
you know something
there's a huge
and I mean huge
you know bachelor presence
in Nashville
a lot of old participants
are there
a lot of them run in the same
circle so there was some familiarity
there right
and it's just such an up-and-coming city
so anyway
like who's been to your bars
who are the bachelor circles
I don't know but you know
Sean Booth
has a booth camp there.
So he has a facility there.
Oh, like right near you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, he's right there.
A couple of old participants,
and now, of course, their names are escaping me.
But, you know, you just see them in different circles.
Wait a minute.
You look familiar.
Oh, okay.
Now I know we're all kind of from that same family.
Right, that's right.
And so, but, yeah, so I spent a lot of time there.
And I think I mentioned we have a couple venues in Houston.
Anyway, yeah, just like everybody, I'm working hard and having fun doing it.
And I'm still working with my twin brother, Chad, and one other guy, Jason Carrier.
And we're having the time of our lives.
You know, life's good.
Does Chad have the beard too, or did he not do the beer?
No, his wife doesn't want him looking homeless.
And so, yeah, no, no, no, no.
Yeah, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no. His wife is, I love her to death. And even my little niece, his daughter,
both of them give me so much grief for, they're like, what are you doing? Are you coming to ask us
for spare change? Are you here to eat dinner? I don't know what you're doing. I think it looks great.
If I could do something like that. Oh, yeah, thank you. But, no, no, no, no, no beard on Chad.
So he's a much more clean cut.
But anyway, yeah.
So I have to ask, since Chad has a wife and kids, does that make, does that make you want to
have kids?
Like, how are you, how do you feel about having a family someday?
Is that still something that you would like to, you know, include in your life?
Or are you good just having nieces?
You know, okay, that's a great question.
And I have a little one little nephew as well.
But anyway, that's a great question.
You know, I am very open to it, no doubt about it.
And, you know, again, like I said earlier, even though I'm 50, I truly feel like I'm 25.
I really do.
I love it.
And so I really don't feel that pressure of time, the clock ticking.
Long sort of short, yeah, absolutely I'm open for it.
You know, I think life would be pretty empty in another 10, 50.
years if I'm in some cabin in Colorado all alone with even a longer beard and you know like
Ted Kaczynski writing letters and becoming the shit you know there might be a problem.
Oh my gosh.
So but no, you know, I tend to joke around a lot and I apologize, but no, just to answer your question.
You know, I take something like that very seriously and as far as fatherhood and and yes,
Yeah, absolutely. I'm open for it. And there have been discussions. I'm not going to lie and positive
discussions about it. And so we'll see what happens. And God knows I can't hide it if I do have a child.
I mean, news is out there everywhere, right? Even though I'm a dinosaur. It's like, you guys know everything.
Everything. It's crazy. Yeah, there's not going to get by anybody anymore. It's crazy.
I know, you know, Bob, it's funny because I think I'm literally the only person that's never been on social media, right? I've never been.
I love it too.
Never.
Never.
Triss, I promise.
Never even in my space.
And yes, I'm dating myself, but never, never been on anything.
It's so.
Wow.
Even for the, so wait, do you have people who do it for the, for the bars?
Oh yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we do.
But I give you about what, I mean, I never even peruse Instagram or anything.
It's just I'm blissfully oblivious to all of that, right?
And so that means when people are really criticizing me, I never know.
So good.
Hey.
Hey, all good.
The reason I'm bringing that up is I guess Chris had posted something after we ate dinner the other night because I received so many texts.
Like, how are these people knowing?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Chris might know a few people, just a few people.
Just a couple.
Just a couple.
Just a few.
But anyway.
Yeah, so, but it was so good to see that guy, of course.
But yeah, back to your question.
Who knows what the future holds?
And possibly that'll be a loving.
family and and I wouldn't have it any other way if that's if that happens that'd be amazing man

You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching?
I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me.
Yeah.
But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you.

My name is Ed.
Everyone say hello, Ed.
Hello, Ed.
I'm from a very rural background myself.
My dad is a farmer and my mom is a cousin, so, like, it's not like...
What do you get when a true...
crime producer walks into a comedy club. I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that
really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit
different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.
Available now.

Go and figure it out for yourself.
Okay.
That's us.
We're good at the heck.
That's us.

Hi, I'm Janica Lopez, and in the new season of the Overcover podcast, I'm taking you on an exciting journey of self-reflection.
Am I ready to enter this new part of my life?
Like, am I ready to be in a relationship?
Am I ready to have kids and to really just devote myself and my time?
I wanted to be successful on my own, not just because of who my mom is.
Like, I felt like I needed to be better or work twice as hard as she did.
Join me for conversations about healing and growth.
Life is freaking hard.
And growth doesn't happen in comfort.
It happens in motion, even when you're hurting.
All from one of my favorite spaces, The Kitchen.
Honestly, these are going to come out so.
Freaking amazing.
Be a part of my new chapter and listen to the new season of the Overcomper podcast
as part of the MyCultura podcast network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
I will tell you, it's exactly what you wanted to be at our age.
I can say that.
You know, you get to a point and I was scared.
I was like, oh, my God.
I'm starting so late, you know.
Of course.
It's awesome.
I mean, I really don't even know what the hell I would
to be doing with myself without them.
I mean, I really don't.
Like, I think about a lot of time, like, what would I be doing right now?
You know?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Same.
Absolutely.
Life is all about the kiddos.
So, what was I going to say?
I had a question and see, this is what happens when you have children.
Your brain goes, bye, bye.
They call a mom brain.
Trissa, will you remind me how many children you guys have?
we have a boy and a girl um 15 year old max and 13 year old blakesly wow
max is actually like it has a driver's permit is 5 8 like yeah it's a little crazy my
daughter is outgrowing my shoes she's taller than me uh it's it's nuts but but it's amazing
a funny story so uh Trista and Ryan come to Tahoe and they bring Max okay I mean it caught me
so off guard, Tristan? I'm sure you don't
say it. She goes, oh, Max, honey, hi, I want you to meet my ex-boyfriend
Bob. And I'm like, oh, oh. So we are going down that road.
Yeah, we're doing this. We're really doing it.
Let's go. Cracking up and Max is just like, hey. I mean, he could care last, man.
It was like, I'm like, oh. Well, well, she's not lying, you know?
Honesty. It's all that honesty.
Funny. And it caught me so.
guard trust that honestly god i don't even know if i told you i laughed so hard about that oh my god no doubt
they're amazing kids you know and uh i mean no doubt almost always well sure i mean you know
they they're teenagers yeah but um okay so i know what the question was so if things don't work
out with your current girlfriend sure and i'm not saying that i'm not you know saying that they
shouldn't or whatever i i want you to be happy but would you ever consider being the
bachelor for the third time? Oh, no. No. No. First, right, and let me tell you one. I knew that would be
the answer. I don't know where that was going. Yeah, no, no, no. And I appreciate the question, right? First of all,
they would never ask me. I mean, I, I mean, Jesus Christ. I don't know about that.
My expiration date is maybe 10 years ago, 15 years ago. But another thing, you know, it's so funny and
quite ironic, but I'm really a private guy, you know, and I'm beginning to get some anonymity back.
And I love it.
I love it, you know.
And so, and not that I have anything to hide.
It's just, I really like kind of flying under the radar, hence the no social media and stuff.
Yeah.
And so when you open up that, that, I guess, book or whatever, another chapter, man, you're exposed.
And, you know, let's face it, after another 10 years, I have even more skeletons.
So I think that the court of public opinion would not only crucify me.
they would just trample on my grave, I think.
Oh, no.
You know what?
It's true.
Like, people are kind of cruel now.
Like, they feel like they can say whatever they want and there's no consequences because of social media.
So I think it would be really hard, you know, thinking about it.
Would I do it again if it was now and other people had done it?
I would have to say yes because I did find my happy ending.
But in the same regard, like it would, it would.
Actually, people have asked if I would have my kids go on it.
And I can't be a hypocrite and say, well, no, because times have changed.
But so I would say, you can because that's how I met your dad.
But in that same breath, you have to be really careful because people are not nice.
I don't think you could get through.
I mean, I couldn't handle it.
I can say honestly, there's no way because curiosity, kill.
is a cat for me. You know, like, I would be like, oh, oh, yeah, someone's pinning me on this thing.
Hi, yeah, thank you for watching. And then it'd be like, you know, you piece of, I'd be like,
oh my God. Oh, yeah. So I couldn't handle it. Well, that also, though, means you're such a nice guy,
you know, people can say all the time. They don't care what other people think, but something tells me
you do, and I do too. I do too. You know, yeah, and Trista you as well. And so, you know,
Yeah, I've found a way, like I said, to kind of blissfully hide my head in the sand.
I love it.
And you can't do that these days.
And so I think it's a prerequisite to have, quote, unquote, followers if you go on that show.
I don't even know.
I really don't know.
I think they want that.
I think they do want that nowadays.
For sure.
For sure.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
So I might have one follower, my twin brother, and that's it.
We'll tell you.
We'll tell you.
Yeah, there's two.
There's two.
Yeah, I'm in.
You got me.
Great. Now I'm becoming an influence.
So, who is that? Is that one of you doing?
Yeah, this is Blake.
Hey, Blake, you are a handsome young man.
Hi.
I tell you what those are. Those little PJs look comfy. How you doing, Blake?
Yeah, he's, the whole family's sick today. So they're all laying around the house.
And here we are still working.
That's right.
Bob, I got to tell you, man. And I mean this.
I'd love to meet your family and I'd love it you know and Trista your kids too again
you're so sweet. Your kids have such great parents respectively respectively and so anyway well I mean it
we need to come to Austin we do we need to just plan a trip or Nashville now that you have a bar
there like I was just thinking I'm going to Dallas I think with Blake'sley for a dance competition
but you're not anywhere close so yeah well yeah my home is always yours I mean you know
Oh, you're sweet.
Yeah, I'd love to host you guys and really start some social media fodder.
If we all were jumping around, maybe they are going to do a repeat of the Bachelors,
like, you two together and, you know, and then me and people are like, what is going on?
You know, and invite Chris Long.
Let's just really rock this.
I want to have an OG reunion.
We need to have an OG reunion of like from a certain day, like invite all the leads and their families.
Like, let's do it.
it. Oh, it's so fun. Firestone and Aaron Bergey. Who else?
I've got to go with Aaron and Andrew in the past. I mean, we got to do it, you guys. I
need that be so much fun. Let me tell you something. You guys mentioned Andrew. I have a cool
story about him. Before I had any connection to The Bachelor at all, any whatsoever. He had been
on the show, excuse me, and he came into one of our bars in Austin. And, and, and,
I want to say this for his credit, to his credit, the guy, he wasn't getting bothered too
much, but enough.
And the guy to us, the staff and everyone around him was hands down the most respectful,
approachable guy and just friendly all the way around.
And, you know, in a bar setting, it's hard to show respect.
Yeah.
But the guy just, I guess what I'm trying to say, just carried.
himself so well and and I remember that still to this day you know it just uh he's just he carries
himself really well I'd like to meet it but you know formally meet him but anyway that's not a surprise
I mean he's always been he's always just been that guy I mean I heard yeah yeah people always say
you know what is what is he like I'm like oh my gosh come on you know he's the he's the best
salt of the yeah yeah Chris said the same exact thing Chris thinks it's so highly of them and
and you know I always get the real scoop from Chris and I love
it, you know, and I will air dirty laundry, but he sure does have. Well, I want to know if I was part
of the dirty laundry, because I have texted him, I don't know, two or three times, and he has not
responded to me. So I'm like, did I do something wrong? No, you didn't do anything.
He didn't say anything? Look, I don't think you can do any wrong. I'm not kidding. Oh, I can. Are you
getting? Yeah. Well, I love you, but no. Well, I'm telling you, I doubt it, but no, not at all.
he speaks very highly of you as a matter of fact.
Oh, okay.
Okay, well, good.
Maybe it just got lost in translation or I don't know.
Who knows?
Technology.
You'd never know.
I'll reach out to him today and be like, okay, so Brad told me that I'm not on your list.
I'm not in a doghouse.
Well, you're not.
I can promise you.
So, yeah.
Okay.
That makes me feel better.
Okay, good.
Well, I think we need to wrap.
Thank you so much for joining us, man.
Yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for coming out of anonymity and allowing us to put your name back out there.
Well, I'll tell you, when you two invited, I can't say no to you guys.
I'm going to reiterate this.
I'll let you go.
But you guys truly are hands down, two of my favorite people.
And I don't even really know you that well.
And so I couldn't refuse.
And it's truly an honor.
And so, and again, you guys look way too good for being 50.
I'm not even getting into this.
but thank you so much and uh i hope i didn't bore you guys it's just really good to talk to you
at all i had a smile on my face the whole time so thank you so much continued success for everything
you're doing brad me and nobody deserves it more and keep us posted how that maui trip goes i actually
uh i'm gonna i'm gonna get you my number because i want to i want to make sure that i get it to you
somehow so i'll get your number from the producers and text you after the show same same
i have an old number for you for some reason i have a number that i texted it and it and they
came back that it wasn't even an invalid number.
Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah.
So I must have written it down wrong years ago or something.
I don't know what I did, but thank you so much for coming on with us, buddy,
and thanks for being an OG.
You give us all a good name.
And my son's going to turn it on the set again.
You did the last time he did this?
I love it.
I love it.
Well, Blake, good to meet you guys.
Such a pleasure.
So you guys take care.
Thanks, buddy.
Thank you.
All right.
Bye.
Bye.
Such a great dude, right?
Such a good dude.
And he did.
He got his butt kicked back in the day, I remember.
I know.
And honestly, I always felt like, well, yeah, he didn't get engaged, but seriously, people?
Like, what did he do wrong other than being honest with the, like that, he was honest with them?
And yes, there was heartbreak, but like he said, his heart was broken too, that he didn't find someone.
that he wanted to walk, you know, walk away with.
Enough to come back and do it again, right?
I mean, enough to come back and do it again, which I can say honestly that I don't think after going through it.
Like when you go through it, like when when I went through the first season of The Bachelorette with you,
it's such a different experience that you're like, yeah, I would love to do this again, right?
Then when you do it as the Bachelor, or for you from the Bachelor to the Bachelorette, when you do it as a lead, right?
I was talking my hands a lot because he's irritating me.
It's all good.
But to go through it as the lead and know the pressure that you feel,
especially to come at the end where you feel like you've disappointed everyone,
which Brad was going to then come back and give himself a chance to do it again.
And, I mean, I just, I just think the guys.
Props to him. I know. I know. Props to him. I'm so glad he came on today. I really did have a
smile the whole time. He's just so nice. He's such a nice guy. Genuinely nice guy.
You're absolutely right. Genuinely nice guy.
All right, well, give your whole family a big hug, and I hope they feel better.
I will. I will. I'll make sure they're feeling better soon. We'll get them nice and hydrated.
That's right.
Say bye. Say bye, hey, say bye, trust, bye, bye, bye, bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
