This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHartRadio.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast.
Where you get me, Ashley Ikenetti, and you get Ben Higgins, who is the wonderful, magical, romantic, sexy, wonderful, smart, intelligent,
emotionally in-tuned former Bachelor
and fantastic wonderful podcast hosts.
You had to say wonderful three times
just because there isn't any other words
to come up with.
You're like, I'm just stretching here
for anything good to say about this guy.
Oh, my God.
Hey, Ashley, you knew who else is wonderful?
Thanks. Who?
Trista and Bob Guinea.
We haven't talked about them in a while.
They're rocking it.
they do our other half of our podcast.
They're rocking and rolling.
I just got off a meeting last night talking about them.
Like, they're killing it.
And they have great interviews with really intriguing people.
If you haven't checked out almost famous OG, I think, I mean, I think it's worth, I definitely
know it's worth the time.
It's a good show and the two of them together are really good.
But Ben, what kind of meeting did you have about them that I wasn't on?
Ashley, I didn't have a meeting.
I was just lying to try to make it.
Jeez.
Oh, I love it.
I love catching bed in moments like that.
He is so funny.
But, okay, yeah, they are amazing.
Sometimes I'll see the Instagram for the OGs,
and I'll be like, wait a second.
Why didn't we get that guess?
Like, I want Claire.
I want so-and-so.
And then I was like, oh, you know what?
I'm glad that Tristan Bob did it.
I am too well I'm just glad I'm just glad they're doing it like they're just getting it done
they're back in the game again it's good to see those faces come back because I think as we move
on from that like what we would consider the golden age of the bachelor which we couldn't even
put ourselves necessarily in that like age because I really think it was the bob guineas and the
Tristas and the Andrew Firestone that's really sweet of you Ben but we definitely were also part
of a golden age whether you want to call it the first dynasty or the second we were part of
one of them. Well, we were. We were. But it's just, the show's changed so much that now it's good to
get back to hearing what it was about back then. Ashley, I got to give a little, uh, a little warning
here. I'm sick. He doesn't feel good guys. I'm sick. So I'm in and out a lot. Uh, I was in Vegas this
weekend. And you would think I would be, you would think I would be, uh, sick from like, you know,
what people typically do in Vegas. I haven't consumed any alcohol, um, other,
than the very first night I was there.
Well, no, I did at the basketball game a little bit.
I, uh, I did, it's not a hangover.
I, uh, I got something bad.
And, um, most people in the trip did.
It's just, I think it's just a very like germy time of the year to be anywhere,
especially in Vegas.
But we went with, uh, my buddy Brandon, who, uh, we've talked about many times on here,
who has ALS, uh, big IU basketball fans, so 10 of us met people from all over the country in
Vegas, went to the IU basketball game.
So I, you just get.
absolutely smacked by Arizona.
But we had a great time,
but I don't feel great now.
I'm pretty tired.
I'm so sorry, Ben.
You honestly sound and look very normal.
I showered for this.
It's good.
Yeah.
Isn't it amazing what a shower can do
when you don't feel good?
It is.
You want to hear some secret about my life?
When we remodeled our master bathroom.
The one to remind everybody had carpeting in a prior.
Yeah, carpet all over the bathroom.
Like, I mean, there was carpet up around the toilet, which is just wild.
So we remodeled that bathroom.
We bought this house.
I decided that for, it's actually not very expensive if we find the right brand.
And it was already plumbed for it.
We put a steam shower in our master.
So we bought a steam like machine.
And so now our shower turns into a steam room, small, but it's great.
And it's a good luxury.
I love to sit in that.
And I sat in it all morning.
I mean, I was just in there.
sitting that is so amazing for a moment like this a moment like this do you guys know what else is
a little luxurious gift just like on making your bathroom feel like a spa it's not promoted i don't
know why i thought of well i know why i thought that you're talking about little luxuries
there's like a forty dollar towel warmer on amazon and you keep it in your yeah you keep it
in your bathroom you plug it in you put the towel in there for like 10 minutes and then when you
get out of the shower, it's toasty.
Seems like my Christmas gift to my wife.
She's going to freak out.
It sounds like you could also just use the dryer, but let's be real.
When you put a towel in the dryer, it's cozy and hot for like 20 seconds, right?
This keeps it a little bit.
And it's a lot of energy to use the dryer every time.
Like just, you know, like this thing, I'm sure uses a lot less energy.
So when you throw a towel in the dryer, you're using a ton of energy.
So this is, this makes a ton of sense.
This is a great little good.
That is so true.
That's smart.
Ashley, it is off-season for the Almost Famous Podcast.
The show is not airing.
So I want to spend a little time today talking to you about some shows that are currently
out there on a streaming or television that you and Jared are enjoying.
We just finished from scratch, Jessica Bald.
I'd say it was a good show.
It's very emotional.
We started then last night because I was in bed early, the White Lotus Season 2,
which we've enjoyed season one.
Yellowstone, obviously, is a favorite in this household.
And then I've also started a show called Dead to Me on flights,
because I can download it.
Dead to me has Christina Applegate.
And it's a good show.
Ashley, I want to spend about, I don't know, seven minutes here
because this is mostly for myself.
What shows are you watching?
What shows do you recommend out there?
What shows have you heard that are good?
Well, Jared and I don't watch shows together,
I'm sure I've mentioned before, but this is like our one relationship downfall.
It's very frustrating.
I would love to binge a show with him.
Just like for like our hour or so alone together at night, it would be really great to like bond over a show and then be able to like speculate what's ahead.
He doesn't watch TV shows.
It's super annoying.
He like wants a plot to be started and finished within three hours tops.
So I watch them by myself.
It's funny.
You know, like he can watch hours and hours of full.
football but like can't watch hours and hours of a plot whatever so yes actually i started white lotus
last night as well because everybody you know i watched the first season last year and um once i
kind of we were like weeks into it i was like you know i'll just start it when it's over and
everybody keeps talking about the finale and it's funny because white lotus is like the show that
everybody says like oh you know nothing happens but for some reason i'm entrenched by it so it is a
little bit hard to, like, get into when you're sleepy. So I fell asleep 15 minutes into it,
but I will get through it. The last show I watched start to finish, besides the Kardashians,
which, duh, it was The Hamid's Tale. That season, I binged. There was like 13 episodes,
and I got through it in a week, and I was really impressed. It was really good. It was a good season,
especially since the past couple have been, like, sneezers. What are you watching that you'd like to talk
I mean Yellowstone. I think Yellowstone is an incredible show that has something for everybody. We
always look forward. Jessica has a couple love Ted Lassow. I think most people do. We watch a lot of
the shows that we hear are good. Um, and usually my wife is very sensitive to what she sees on
television. Very pure soul, that girl. And so we have to like watch something that isn't too intense.
And if we watch something too intense, then we got to like follow it up with something like funny and
lighthearted and easy. Um, I will tell you a show, uh, and then we can move on from this
that is a secret, really funny, good show. Uh, I think it's called like American Auto or something.
It was on like Peacock. Um, so we usually watch that to like clear the mind before she heads
the bed. But those are the big shows out there right now on, uh, streaming. And I saw somebody
other day, tweet, like, what are the good shows that are out there this time of year in the
winter? And I thought it would be important today to kind of go through some of the stuff we're
watching so that if you haven't seen some of it, you would, you know, tune in, check in, find a way
to distract yourself from the cold storms that are going to be hitting you this week. The U.S.
is going to get really cold, really fast. I also was very excited to find out that my, one of my favorite
movies is now a series on Peacock
that starts on like a week, Best Man
and Best Man Holiday. Have you ever seen Best Man
Holiday? Yeah, yeah. Oh my
God, don't you love it? It's just
it's just great. It's just like great character
develop it and like great relationships. Very real.
Yeah, that is a good one. We just
I know we're going back. We just watched four
Christmases the other day.
Isn't it with Vince Vaugh? Rees Witherspoon, yeah.
That movie made me giggle
start to finish. I was giggling.
giggling.
How many times do you watch Home Alone during a Christmas season?
Because I think I watched it four times in the past like 12 days.
So Christmas is all about.
We've watched it too.
It's a good one.
Ashley, we have a lot coming up here on the podcast.
A lot of big breaking news headlines to get to.
You know, this is leading up to Christmas season or holiday season, I should say.
But, you know, it's also a time where you would typically spend time with family.
Again, last week on the episode, we talked about some ways that you can do good for the people in your area, help some people out, help some people feel connected.
I think that's something to remind everybody of, especially this week.
I'm heading to Honduras here at the end of this week to check on some things down there.
I'm going to be down there for a few days.
I'm going to head and meet up with my family.
A little island called Roiton, just outside of Honduras.
It's going to be a great holiday down there.
But just, yeah, as you're spending time with family this week, as you're getting
in prep for the holidays, you're probably out buying your last minute gifts.
Don't forget about the people in your communities that could use some help as well.
Well, with that, let's switch.
It's time for Bachelor headlines.
Take a break.
When we come back, we're going to talk about Tia Booth.
We've had an headline about Nick Vile.
Can I talk about Clayton Eckerd?
We have some big headlines.
Stay tuned.

The U.S. Open is here.
And on my podcast,
It's good game with Sarah Spain.
I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event.
I mean, listen, their whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all 1010.
fans, whether you play tennis or not?
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids?
Or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself?
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?
To hear this and more, listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain, an Iheart women's sports production

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
And we're back with headlines.
I think the biggest headline this week is definitely that Tia had her baby.
Yeah, so here's the headline, Bachelor Nation's Tia Booth and Fiancé Taylor.
Welcome first child, a baby boy.
This is according to us weekly.
So she posted on Insta story a couple, you know, like a week ago, I guess, that she was having
contractions during their last date night.
And I was like, oh my God, it's so exciting.
It's so funny because before I had a kid, I was like, oh, God, she's having interactions.
That's so nerve-wracking.
It feels so bad for her.
And now I feel excited for her.
She's so funny.
But it's probably because I had a good birth experience.
We have yet to know about Tia's birth experience.
She hasn't told that story, which is now, like, such a thing to talk about on Instagram these days.
But she is documenting a lot of their life together with the baby.
She was posted on Instagram this morning that they were, like, up every hour and a half with him.
but you're definitely at that phase where it's just like it doesn't even matter it doesn't matter it's like adorable when they wake up and they're not screaming when they wake up it's like it's like nothing brace yourself for the ear pinching sounds to come but the baby's name is tatum booth so her last name mock and that's adorable I think it sounds really good together I think booth is a pretty cool middle name for a kid for a boy yeah tatam booth mock yeah really
Really cool.
Couldn't be a stud.
So she announced the birth with not a photo, but an Instagram, like, real, I guess it was.
It's a sound clip of her seeing, meeting her baby for the first time.
She captioned it with Best Day of Our Lives.
So, yeah, that's basically what we've got so far.
Tia is keeping it real, though, on Instagram.
So if you're a mom or interested in being a mom one day, she's doing a great job.
documenting the realness that is the first week or so of having a baby.
She's even showing her postpartum belly and, you know, how that takes time to deflate.
So yeah, there we go.
Good for Tia. Good for Taylor. Congratulations to two of them. It's a big deal. I'm very excited for
them. Here's the headline about Nick. The question is, she seems like it's still a question.
I don't know why. But would Bachelor Nations Nick Vile be up for a TV wedding with
girlfriend, Natalie, one day.
We talked about TV wedding last week, right?
Yeah, we did.
Yeah, and we said that they don't really do them anymore because they're awash.
Well, it's always a question.
I think the question is, like, they would not, these weddings probably wouldn't happen
with the actual Bachelor franchise, especially if it's with somebody that is not part
of the Bachelor franchise.
Like, Natalie, you know, that's like if you had a televised wedding with the Bachelor.
It's like, that would make any sense.
No, it wouldn't make any sense.
It's like, that wasn't your journey with her.
No, you just want to, I mean, but I would be down for them to air my wedding if they would have paid for my wedding.
That would have been cool.
Well, would you have, we'd be talking about that for a second.
No, I don't think that.
No, he said no.
Okay.
Yeah.
I wouldn't have either.
I guess it matters.
I mean, I guess it matters how much money they were willing to pay.
Sure.
Astronomical stupid money.
Then, yeah, I guess.
Yes.
No, it would not be ideal.
not I guess if it was astronomical stupid money then yes but I am so glad that we did not have
a TV wedding everything's documented for us in the most perfect way yeah we watched our wedding
video on our first anniversary yeah that was awesome there's the first time we'd watch it we saved it
what yeah we saved it the first time you watched it we did we saved it all year to our first
anniversary and you watch it together. Oh, that's sweet. That's super sweet. That must have been
really emotional. I cried a lot. Just cried a lot. But I cried a lot. Yeah, it was very emotional.
Will you ever share this video for us to see? I think we could. I think it'd be great too. Yeah,
I don't know how to do that, but yeah, I think we could do that. You could put it on YouTube.
You can put it on a long Instagram video. How long is it? It's like an hour long.
Oh, so you're talking about like all the footage. Did you have like a movie made? Like an hour movie?
Yeah, it was like a movie.
It was like showed the whole ceremony and then like clips of the evening together.
It's really good.
I mean,
I don't mind anybody seeing it.
I just don't typically know how to upload that stuff.
So I'd have to get some help from the outside world.
Don't act like a grandpa.
You don't know how to upload a YouTube video.
I know.
I have no clue how to upload a YouTube video.
Then?
I don't.
I promise you I don't.
It's very simple.
Literally you sign in and then there's a button that says upload video and attach it.
I don't have a YouTube account, but one day I will.
You have a Gmail, don't you?
Yeah.
Therefore, you have a Google account.
See?
I'm learning something every day.
Okay.
Anyway, I'm not going to grill you anymore.
This is what Nick says.
He said, I don't know.
I don't know if anyone would want to have the wedding on TV.
But as long as people I love are there, that's all I really care about.
they, to be clear, have not gotten engaged yet.
I'm sure it'll happen soon.
He says that he's always, they also went on to ask him if he wasn't going to have a televised wedding.
When do you ever have a docu series or reality show with Natalie?
He said, I don't see that in our cards.
I'm always fascinated by the content world and the opportunities out there.
So you never know.
but I don't think that's something we're prioritizing or have even talked about to be honest.
And Nick's just really spending this time of year, and often, he's a mush ball now that he's with Natalie.
He says he has so much to be grateful for, first and foremost, his family, his siblings, his parents, Natalie, and his dog, Jeff, my family and them and everything that we've been able to accomplish.
I'm thankful for my team
and all the people around me
and just thankful I get to do what I love
and I could go on and on
but I have a lot to be thankful for.
That's nice. He sure does.
Next headline is about
Clayton Eckerd. He reveals
whether he still talks to Susie
Evans.
If you just remind you,
Susie and Clayton were together
after his season of The Bachelor.
And if he'd ever go on the Bachelor in Paradise,
this according to Bachelor
nation.
Okay, he says a couple
things here.
So bullet point number one.
Yes, he talks to Susie.
It's not very serious.
It's not like, you know,
they're great friends that go back and forth
via text all day along and send TikToks to each other.
But they check in to each other from time to time.
He says we're friends.
Things are great.
I love her and I love her family.
And of course,
I wish her nothing but the best.
He also goes on to say that she's an incredible woman
and is going to make someone extremely happy one day.
he also talks about going on
Bachelor in Paradise
which he says
he's not actively considering it
right now
but dot dot dot later
that's interesting
huh I thought he was going to say a flat out no
because he certainly
never acted as if he I think he should too
I think he should
but he certainly never acted
like it was a positive experience for him
so you know but yeah
he seems open to it
can we also say that
after seeing Jason Tarter
posts with him this week.
I don't know.
Did you catch those reels?
Yeah.
Where Jason asked,
did you make more money
before The Bachelor
as a medical sales rep
or as the Bachelor,
you know,
and you're after it,
and he said he made more money
as a medical sales rep.
So I was thinking, like,
he was going to say...
Going back to work.
Yeah, like he would go back to work.
But apparently,
he is having a great time
with his career right now.
He says that the Bachelor
was able to
give him a platform that was able to allow him to do what really makes him happy. He says he's
currently chasing his passions on speaking of mental health nationally, impacting others
through online personal training, and using the platform to share resources to help others
in their struggles. All three of these possibilities wouldn't be possible without the platform
I was given. And I feel like I found my purpose. So the answer is yes, he, yeah, he's just,
she's just happy for the positive outcomes that came from being the bachelor and says that he's
happier now than he has been in a very long time. Good for him. No, that's good. It's not,
you know, obviously, it's not about the money. It is shocking. I think it's changed a lot here recently
where the leads coming off the show, especially the men, aren't really finding the opportunities
that maybe they once did. I think it's just kind of time of,
you know, who's watching the show, how many people are watching the show. It used to be,
like I heard Clayton in that interview say, like he was, people were saying, hey, you're going
to make millions. Well, that's, I mean, that's not always true. Um, but typically there are
good opportunities for that first year, second year that where you can really start to find your
groove. But I just think it's a different season for the show, which, you know, from the contestant
standpoint, probably disappointing and a little frustrating because you are giving up a lot of to go on
the show. From a fan standpoint, I actually, if I take away, you know, and just say I'm a fan,
I am really excited about it because people no longer are going to be able to go on the show
strictly to try to get famous, strictly to try to be influencers. Like, they're going to have
to go back to going on the show for the reason of trying to find love. And I think that is going
to be a good switch with intentions of people. You know, so who knows? Ebs and flows. But right
now, we're definitely in a season where if you're coming off the show, you're not just getting
handed every gig, every opportunity, every red carpet, every show hosting, every
thing you can do.
This is not happening.
For sure.
For sure.
For sure.
It's not happening.

I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive
for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not.
Tennis is full of compelling stories of late.
Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids?
Or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself.
How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form?
To hear this and more, listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain,
an IHeart women's sports production
in partnership with deep blue sports and entertainment
on the IHeart radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner

Bachelor star Ari Lyondike,
he's in our headlines two weeks in a row last week.
He was in the headlines for burning his Balenciaga shoes.
But Ari and Brandy Glanville
Join reality stars to compete in a new show, The Traders.
This according to Yahoo.
So the Traders to me sounds like it's Big Brother Celebrity Edition.
We don't have a ton of detail.
It is hosted by Alan Cumming, and it's being publicized as a psychological adventure in which treachery and dissent are the name of the game.
They're celebrities and non-celebrities, and they come together.
to compete in a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize.
Prizes can reach up to as much as a quarter of a million dollars.
Three of those 20 contestants will be known as the traitors and they will be plotting to steal
the prize from the rest of the group dubbed the Faithful.
So I guess it's a little bit different than Big Brother.
It'll be set in a remote castle in the Scottish Highland.
and it'll be a game chock full of alliances,
deceptions, and even
murder.
What?
Well, I don't think,
it says quote.
There's like a quote around murder.
So who knows what that'll mean?
Maybe they'll get like captured into a dungeon
and considered murdered.
Goodness gracious.
So it'll be interesting.
I really like Ari's poster, you know,
his face shot, whatever you want to call it.
What do you would you call it?
like his headshot for the
show. It's his headshot.
Promo pick.
Yeah, it's pretty cool. So
not only will Brandy Glanville
be there, but lots of people,
not lots of, but there's people,
contestants from Survivor,
Shaws of Sunset,
Big Brother,
um,
and Summerhouse,
Real Housewives,
and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lockheke.
Because Ryan,
Ryan loves to do things like this.
I was going to say, he just shows up.
That dude's everywhere.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So there'll be 10 episodes and they all start streaming.
They all drop.
They'll drop on January 12th.
Well, Ashley, we're getting more info on the Peter Weber, Kelly Flanagan relationship.
The headline reads this.
Peter Weber and Kelly Flanagan give first joint interview since reconciliation.
Everything happens for a reason, they said.
This according to us weekly.
I know.
So they were at the Points Guy Awards at Terminal,
five in New York City on Wednesday, and they talked in the carpet, and they said it's been
really, really special. This is Peter's words, really, really special. And I think we're both
enjoying how it's been the second time around, and things happen for a reason. And I can say that
I'm very, very happy. Also says that his parents love it. They absolutely love the reunion.
And Kelly says that she's happy, genuinely happy.
We get along and connect, which is good.
And I think coming off the show, you go through a lot of stuff that puts a lot of pressure on you.
And this time around, it's a lot more relaxed, so it's easier.
And they will not be spending the holidays together.
Kelly's 85-year-old dad is going through some health issues.
So she's going to spend the holidays with family as much as she can.
Peter understands and it's very supportive of that, she says.
Good for the two of them.
We'll follow that story.
Follow that relationship.
Another bachelor love story forming,
even though it didn't fully happen on television.
It's happening outside of television.
Ashley, that's all the headlines we have today.
Again, holiday season is upon us.
Families are going to be joined together.
Friendships are going to be coming together.
You're going to have some holiday parties.
Don't forget the people in your community that could use,
a little love and care, the almost famous podcast.
Wants to support that and be behind that.
So share your stories.

Well, that's all we have for you today.
We'll be back next week,
breaking down another week of Bachelor headlines,
which is always fun,
getting prepped, starting to get more prepped
for this next season that's coming up.
We're going to start talking about some of the people that have been on the show,
some of the rumors flying around the show, how we think Zach's going to do.
She will remain nameless, but I have spoken to somebody that was on this season of the show.
I could probably share a few things of what we talked about.
Can you do that now?
No. No. I'm going to wait until next week.
No. Let's have her on, and then we'll put one of those voice transformers on her.
That's so good.
That's so good.
We should utilize that way more often.
How fun would it be to have voice, like, Transformers?
We could be the podcast that does that.
I know.
Well, this is what I know.
And then I went on the show and I was eliminated during, well, I guess it's a week where it's a beginning week.
I will say this, Ash.
I will say one little hint, okay?
Okay.
You got to give us something because this season is not something that we're all very thrilled about.
I am
nervous that our biggest
questions and concerns
about this season are true
are true
yeah I'm nervous about that
you mean that no girls are really into him
I'll leave that with what I said
I think our biggest concerns and questions
may be true
but it is not that no girls are into
to him I just
I think
I think we're going to have to have the cast
really carry a heavyweight through this season. I think I think it's going to have to be a very
cast. I said that with Clayton too. Like why do they keep doing this to us? Maybe we'll be pleasantly
surprised. I'll gather more info from a couple people this week so that we can talk about a little
more next week. I have some more details. I am just nervous as of right now with that. And that scares me a
bit. I don't want to watch a show that it's as like, this is boring. But I don't think it will be.
They always find a way to shake it up. They always find a way to bring in some drama,
some love stories. I just don't know. I don't know if it's a home run. And I think one of
the other reasons I'd say that is because we haven't heard from a lot of the people that usually
tweet about the show during production and after production. Like, this is the most dramatic show
season ever. Stuff's happening that we've never seen before. Like, that hasn't.
been said yet. And usually it's already been said because it usually happens during
filming. And it's been a very quiet filming. Like nobody's talking about it. Nobody's even hinting
at stuff. There's even no rumors spreading around. It's kind of wild how quiet people have
been about this upcoming season. And that makes me nervous. I wish I had something to add here,
but I don't. Yeah, that's the way it is. Well, we'll be back next week talking more about this.
We'll get more info for you.
We'll start teasing this season.
We're going to be as honest with you as we possibly can be.
Basically just scheming how we can make it interesting.
Yeah, exactly.
We're going to figure out a way to make this next season of The Bachelor one that you cannot miss
because you've got to be here.
Hanging out with us, talking with us, catching up on life.
Well, until next time, I've been Ben.
I've been Ashley.
