Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh, my God, perfect.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? Answer, a new podcast called Wisecrack,
Starting point is 00:01:18 where a comedian finds himself at the center of a chilling true crime story. Does anyone know what show they've come to see? It's a story. It's about the scariest night of my life. This is Wisecrack. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
Starting point is 00:01:43 or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio. All right. So we're back on this famous podcast and I've got a beautiful couple in front of me, Kenny and Mari. How are you guys?
Starting point is 00:02:19 So good. How are you? Oh, I'm good. I'm tired. Oh, yeah. We, uh, yeah, we're. how long did you guys stay we actually didn't stay very long we left probably just before 11 yeah we did our secret we're going to go to the bathroom and then just walk yeah irish what irish what do you call
Starting point is 00:02:40 that in irish goodbye yeah i love it how was the wedding for you guys like did it bring back memories of your own nuptials it did it was beautiful i mean everything was so gorgeous um and i think just being able to watch them up there after having seen the whole season. It was super special. And then it definitely did kind of bring me flashbacks to our paradise wedding too. Yeah. So you guys did watch Golden Bachelor. We did. Yeah. And what did you think? Like, do you think they need to continue it? Do you think it was a good thing for the franchise? 100%. Yeah. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn't sure what to expect. But I think they definitely took it seriously and treated it with like the respect and the grace that it deserves for what it is.
Starting point is 00:03:25 So I think they did a great job and I definitely think they should keep it up. I'm sure they will. Why wouldn't they? Right? It seems to be successful. Absolutely. Everyone loves Gary and Teresa. And all the Golden Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Oh my gosh. I can't believe it. They have like the biggest fan base now. It's incredible to watch. We had Joan and Susan in here just a second ago and we were laughing about the golden Bachelorette and who that would be if they do that show, if they do that spinoff. And Joan was
Starting point is 00:03:56 laughing and she's like, I don't know if I could do it by myself. Like, we need to have like, I would be, I would like to be one of two, which you can speak to. And then she was like, but maybe we should do three or four. And Ben was like, maybe we should have the whole group of
Starting point is 00:04:12 Golden Batch. Well, that's just paradise at that point. That's true. Well, they would need to move it, I think, to a different location to do like, you know. But definitely agree. That would be fun to watch. Right. I was like, maybe you're on to something, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:26 That would be a little too chaotic. Maybe. It might be a little too crazy to follow, too, just from a viewer's standpoint. Exactly. Keeping up with everything. I would like to see what it looks like having a bunch of old guys in a house and doing that whole thing. I just think a lot of people would tune in to see what that's about. Well, honestly, she brought, so Joan said that.
Starting point is 00:04:49 She's like, I don't know if we can get guys to, like, come and sit on a couch and talk about how they're going to find love. Like, really? Are you? And I think so, too, because there are a lot of people in this world. I mean, casting would have to do some work, but I bet they could find it. We just need to find more of the garries of the world. You know, if he can do it, I think more men will too. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:14 It'll be interesting to see, though, because I feel like it would be a bit of a different dynamic, you know, especially for older men. men, but I'm interested. I think that she also said, like, we don't know if any men would be able to leave their jobs. Yeah. And I'm like, that's actually true, but maybe they're retired or maybe they're like CEOs and they own a company and they're like, and Susan was like, yep, that's the kind of guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Exactly. Okay. So what did you love, what did you love about the wedding? Having just been through yours, what did you love about it? Oh my gosh. I love the decor. Everything is so stunning. I loved the seating, how they had some sofas and some chairs. And it was just so elegant looking. The flowers were gorgeous. It was just so stunning. Gorgeous. Did anything, was anything similar to your wedding? Like, did you have anything that was in common? Not really. I think, I think the most commonality we had was
Starting point is 00:06:15 probably just like the outdoor gardeny vibe. And kind of the color scheme. and we did like white and green and theirs was kind of like neutral white so i think that's about it but yeah it definitely gave me a little bit of a reminiscent moment tell us about your wedding like how besides the decor like was it big did you have a lot of people was it was it a destination it was yeah puerto rico yeah yeah so we've had two weddings we had our paradise wedding which everyone got to see which was that before your other wedding it was it was in june it was filmed before i didn't know if that was like a you're just doing it for the cameras because they wanted you to come back to the beach.
Starting point is 00:06:53 A lot of people seem to think that. Yeah, so we actually were married in Paradise, but it filmed in June. Oh, okay, right. So we've been married since June. Yes. But we knew that our families weren't going to be able to come to Paradise. It was short notice and, you know, passports travel. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Just a bit of a hassle to have our family and friends come there. So we knew we were still going to do. And you had probably already started planning your other way. Yes, we were already, yeah, in the planning of Puerto Rico. So we still had our Puerto Rico wedding And that one was smaller We had about 60 people or so Just our families pretty much
Starting point is 00:07:26 And closest friends Got it And we actually still have one more Celebration to go You do? We're doing like a party Because like a lot of our friends Couldn't come and whatnot
Starting point is 00:07:35 In Chicago? In Chicago It's just it's really more of a reception Yeah Just a big party pretty much For our friends to celebrate with us Yeah When is that?
Starting point is 00:07:44 Well you don't have to tell me It'll be March 30th Yeah March 30th Oh amazing My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
Starting point is 00:08:05 This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
Starting point is 00:08:25 He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden you hear the... This. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And they're saying like, okay, pull this. Do this. Pull that. Turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devon. And on our new show, no such thing. We get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Listen to no such thing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Humanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. Starting point is 00:10:20 Evil spells to cast on your ex. No, no, no, no, no, we're not doing that this season. Oh, well, this season, we're leveling up. Each episode will feature a special bestie, and you're not going to want to miss it. Get in here! Today, we have a very special guest with us. Our new super secret bestie is the diva of the people. The diva of the people.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I'm just like text your ex. My theory is that if you need to figure out that the stove is hot, go and touch it. Go and figure it out for yourself. Okay. That's us. That's us. My name is Curley. And I'm Maya.
Starting point is 00:10:55 In each episode, we'll talk about love, friendship, heartbrates, men, and, of course, our favorite secrets. Listen to the Super Secret Bestie Club as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. you know reality steve um i think leaked the fact that the wedding was here yeah and last night i was looking at instagram and i can't remember what you call it the page where people like tag you or post for you or whatever so i looked at that and someone posted a picture that they had taken with me and their post said i loved stalking the golden bachelor wedding last night and i think there were people that like literally found out that it was going to be here and either live in California or jumped on a plane and booked a room and wanted to just come and hang out and see everybody
Starting point is 00:11:53 around at the reception part at you know when the Dan band came out yep oh yes people yeah like over the fence over the fence taking like peeking over the fence for the whole time pretty much they were like like see and i went over to get food yeah and she goes mom who are those people Yeah, they were just watching. There's quite a few of them. There's quite a few. There were a lot of them. I looked up and I was like, oh, and they were all waving.
Starting point is 00:12:17 I'm like, hi! So funny. It was funny. Okay, what was your favorite moment from the reception? Well, the Dan band, the dude that came out, is my jaw dropped when that happened. I know. I'm obsessed with that guy. You are?
Starting point is 00:12:35 I am obsessed with that guy. I love it. Like, you know, when he was in old school. and hangover and all that stuff. She didn't really know who he was and I was like acting like a child. I don't think a lot of people did. So Ben was like, you were all acting like a child.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Ben looked at like Twitter feed last night and just to see kind of what the general consensus was about everything. And he did say that a lot of people had no idea who they were. I'm glad I'm not alone. No, you are not alone. Me and my friends and even my dad texted me. He was like the Dan Band and then like 100 exclamation points. I'm like, yes.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I'm like, it's amazing. And I took a picture with Dan and sent it to my friends. You did. I love it. Do you have any connection to them? So, funny enough, we actually, I have a mutual friend with Dan. Okay. And on my 30th birthday, the Dan band sent me a video singing, happy birthday to me.
Starting point is 00:13:31 And it's hilarious. So I pull them off to the side and we talked a little bit. And then we sent a video to my friend that we have in common. That's amazing. I love it. Small world. Okay, were you guys on the day? I did see you on the dance floor for a little bit, like across the way.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Oh, yeah. I was getting my groove on. Oh, yeah, it was so much fun. Kenny, when we first met, he straight up was like, I don't dance. I hate dancing. You're never going to see me on a dance floor. But I am a Latina. I love to dance.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And like, it's part of, you know, who I am. And so he has slowly loosened up. He danced a lot at our wedding. And, yeah, danced last night. So we're warming him up a little bit. I love it. Oh, well, maybe you'll turn into Ryan. I don't know if you saw Ryan, but he was sitting the whole time.
Starting point is 00:14:18 That's my comfort zone. Yes, that was his. So I had a couple drinks early on enough to get me on the dance. Yeah, that's what Ryan said. He was like, I'm not drinking unless I'm, or I'm not dancing unless I'm drinking. And he hasn't been drinking in a while. So he was like, nah, I'm just, I'm good watching you dance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:38 That's where I'm at, I think. It was so much fun. Natasha lit up that dance floor. She was the first one out there. Like having a whole solo moment. Oh, yeah. It was incredible. She was amazing.
Starting point is 00:14:50 We sat next to her for dinner too. You did? She's a hoot. She came up and introduced herself. She's like, I need to introduce myself. And we talked about how she actually was a dancer. Oh, that makes sense. I know.
Starting point is 00:15:03 She like studied with Alvin Ailey and like all I know. I was. Had no idea. Yeah, legit. But she killed it. She got everyone into it. Oh, yeah. We always need the one person who's going to, like, get the party started, you know?
Starting point is 00:15:19 But in, like, a cool way. It wasn't like, like, an old dad, like, you know, doing, like, whatever kind of moves. She's good. She's good. And she's fun. Oh, I loved it. I had so much fun on the dance, probably too much fun on the dance floor. I actually can't even believe I'm here this morning.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Well, they were playing good music. That band was fantastic. What do you think about that? It was a very good band. Yeah, Mr. Boy Band Man. Fantastic. They were very good. Blakesley was like, Mom, they performed to Justin Bieber's wedding.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Oh, really? Yes. That's what I heard. I love Justin Bieber. I know. You're a believer? I am. I've been a believer since day one.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Me too. How can you not be? They were fantastic. Yeah. Like the dance moves, I felt like I was. watching like an old Motown like in some moments. Yeah, like a temptation.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Yes. And the girls, the pipes? The voice is fantastic. What? I wish I could do that. I do too. That's the one thing about myself that like I wish I could sing.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Me too. I do too. Okay, I have to ask as we're closing because that's always the next question. You know what's coming. We're not having kids. I need to ask.
Starting point is 00:16:34 As far as I know, I'm not. Yeah, hey. No, yeah, it's not in the plans for right now. I think we've got our two dogs right now. Those are little babies. And it's funny. What kind of dogs? A little Maltese and a little Yorkie.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Oh, we used to have a five-pound Yorkie. Oh, tiny. Ours is like eight. Yeah, ours is a little. Mine was seven or eight. Oh, my gosh. 17 pounds? 17 years old.
Starting point is 00:17:04 17? They last forever. Our Maltese is going to be 10 in a couple weeks, and the Yorkie, he's only one. Yeah, he's going to. Amazing. Do you carry him everywhere in a little purse? We have a stroller. We actually use a stroller.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Do you have a stroller? I need a picture of Kenny with a stroller. Oh, I've got one on my Instagram. There is. Oh, my gosh. I'll show it to you. Yeah. But those are our babies for now.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I think, you know, if kids are in our future, it probably won't be for a few years. I think that's very wise. enjoy you somewhere right you can't at some point probably yeah a few more years i mean i don't i don't mean enjoy you can't enjoy each other after you have kids but i think like enjoying the time together like there's something to be said for that for sure absolutely i totally agree so yeah we want to just like be married and like do stuff yeah travel around everywhere you know yeah and not have that responsibility yeah yeah because it is a big respect a huge one absolutely but you guys i just met you but i know you're going to be great parents no thank you anyway it was so nice
Starting point is 00:18:03 You can meet you guys. Hang out a little bit. Thanks for joining. Thank you. Thank you.
