Hello, America's sweetheart Johnny Knoxville here. I want to tell you about my new true crime podcast, Crimeless, Hillbilly Heist, from smartless media, campside media, and big money players. It's a wild tale about a gang of high-functioning nitwits who somehow pulled off America's
Starting point is 00:00:54 third largest cash heist. Kind of like Robin Hood, except for the part where he's still. Gills from the rich and gifts to the poor, I'm not that generous. It's a damn near inspiring true story for anyone out there who's ever shot for the moon, then just totally muffed up the landing. They stole $17 million that had not bought a ticket to help him escape. So we're saying like, oh God, what do we do? What do we do? That was dumb. People do not follow my example.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Listen to Crimless, Hillbilly Heist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, I'm Kyle McLaughlin. IHeart Podcasts bring you the ultimate Summer of Love Tree. This is famously available. Welcome back to the podcast. It's your host, Ben Higgins, and I'm here today with our golden famously available gal, Kathy Swartz.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Kathy, we know one of your best. Susan has found love and is happy in a relationship. At least that's what we think. We're not like checking every day, but at least that's our last update. Are you ready to see if you can find your person too? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:12 So this is going to be rapid fire. Like we don't need any. I want like first words that come to mind. I'm just going to throw stuff out there. I'm never short of words, Ben. Okay. This is about you first. I'm excited for this one.
Starting point is 00:03:27 What's your name? Kathy Swartz age 72 describe your physical appearance tall slim slash athletic build I would say strong
Starting point is 00:03:40 I want you to add strong you're a strong woman tell us your history with the show The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise I was on the Golden Bachelor I was eliminated at World Rose Ceremony with Gary Gary's a great guy was not my guy went on Bachelor in Paradise season 10 had a great time felt like a mother and a mentor to all the young ones
Starting point is 00:04:07 great guys but did not find my love there either best thing about being on the show shows getting to meet incredibly wonderful people and having an adventure that so few people get to have in their lives it's the worst thing about being on the shows didn't find anyone single other than your marriage what was the most serious relationship romantically you've had i i didn't he was my he he he was that 18 years old i think you said i met him when i was 18 we were married 18 months later i was 20 years old had just turned 20 when i got married do you want to get married again um it's not on my to do list but i i'm old enough to know never say never so maybe maybe when this like first things that come to mind here three things that are requirements for
Starting point is 00:05:03 your significant other kindness a sense of adventure and love for me and my family now we're going to switch over to some hard questions about dating specifically are you willing to be the primary breadwinner no ideally do you want to continue working or would you like to be fully retired. And you are working. You're doing podcasts now. You're going on these shows. No, I love doing my podcast. I love. So no, would I retire? Probably not fully. No. This is a question that comes up so many times at my age and within my 20s. So I'm interested to see what you would say. Would you date someone that your family does not like? I would date them, yes.
Starting point is 00:05:54 describe the physicality of your ideal man ideally a little bit taller than me warm smile and beautiful eyes and physically has to be fit physically fit we're talking early in the relationship here like one first second date if you meet someone and they mention to you that they're dating other people currently would you allow that would i date him if he was dating other people yeah would you continue to go on dates with him uh one or two but I have enough faith in myself if I really like that guy I think he would see the light and know I'm it
Starting point is 00:06:32 without me being able to be included in any of these next two questions not that I would be included but it's weird if I was of all the bachelor since the beginning who is the most handsome in your opinion Dale it comes right at the top for me I think he's absolutely stunningly handsome
Starting point is 00:06:49 gosh that's a tough one I don't know. I mean, they're all, come on, they're all good-looking guys. That's, that's, you've got to be good-looking to be a bachelor. Okay, Dale was never a bachelor, but we're just going to throw all the bachelor guys into this. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not. Dale works.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Dale's a fine answer. We're just now going to, we're going to open up to any bachelor contestant. That's fair, other than myself. Of all the bachelors, which do you think was the greatest guy? I mean, I think, I love Doughton. I think he's a genuine guy. Sean Lowe. I think he's a great guy.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Don's incredible dude. Sean's great. Yeah, that's a great choice. Dotten is like sneaky, just awesome. He's quiet, but he's sneaky awesome. Yeah, but see, that's an attractive quality because I've seen him. He can let lose. Yeah, he's so tall.
Starting point is 00:07:43 How do you feel about being set up? I think that's how I'm going to meet somebody. Organically, Davey Knapp's just, I may look good on paper. or not look good on paper, but when people meet organically, I think that's the best way. So I'm all in for being set up. Are you open to a long-distance relationship? Yes, first to start with, but it won't stay that way. Say when we get our first date set up here, are you going to be nervous on, like,
Starting point is 00:08:12 going to that date? I know I should say yes, but not really. I would be more excited. Which couple are you most excited about? that is still together from the show. Like, which couple do you just, like, get behind you? Like, they're wonderful together. I just spent time with them.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Spencer and Jess. I love them. And I just, I love them. We're not talking sex here, Kathy. But what is your ultimate? Well, we might. We might hear. But what is your ultimate fantasy date?
Starting point is 00:08:44 Like, not fantasy sweet date. I'm not talking what happens behind that closed door. I'm talking, like, what is your ultimate fantasy date? So, again, For me, at my age, I don't need a trip to Paris with, you know, going up the Eiffel Tower and watching fireworks go off. For me, the fantasy date is spending time with the guy doing, I don't care what, a walk on the beach, a dinner, kayaking.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I don't care what it is as long as I'm connecting with him and he's connecting with me. I really don't care what it is. We kind of asked this question in reverse earlier, but I'm now asking from your perspective. Wait, I can, wait, I have to say I'm sorry to interrupt you. I would love to go on a helicopter ride. I don't know why. That does stick out there for me. Yeah. I have a wild helicopter ride from the show. We were in Vegas and a lightning bolt struck right beside our helicopter. We had to land in the middle of nowhere to let the storm pass. Thanks, Ben. Maybe that comes off the list now. I don't know if I'd tell you to do that. Already yacht. Same. I want to be on a private
Starting point is 00:09:50 plane at some point in my life that's just a goal i've done it one time yeah i've never done it even on the show never went never been on one but goodness it sounds fun yeah um yeah i'm sure wait can you buy me the guy with a private plane yeah we're that's that's that's that's part of the criteria here private jet in the heat of battle your squad relies on you don't let them down unlock elite at Lenovo.com. Dominate every match with next level speed, seamless streaming and performance that won't quit. Push your gameplay beyond performance with Intel Core Ultra processors for the next era of gaming. Upgrade to smooth high quality streaming with Intel Wi-Fi 6E and maximize game performance with enhanced overclocking. Win the tech search. Power up at Lenovo.com.
Starting point is 00:10:50 young Americans move to the Costa Rican jungle to start over, but one will end up dead, the other tried for murder. Not once. People weren't wild. Not twice. Stunned. But three times. John and Anne Bender are rich and attractive, and they're devoted to each other. They create a nature reserve and build a spectacular circular home high on the top of a hill. But little by little, their dream starts to crumble. And our couple retreat from reality. They lose it. They actually lose it. They sort of like nuts.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Until one night, everything spins out of control. Listen to Hell in Heaven on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Crying Wolf Podcast is the story of two men. bound by injustice of a city haunted by its secrets and the quest for redemption no matter the price white victim female pretty wealthy black defendant Chicago a white woman's murder a black behind bars for a crime he didn't commit I got 90 years for killing somebody I have never seen he says the police are his friends and then that's it they turn on it a corrupt detective how he was interrogated the techniques. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:22 A snitch and a life stolen. They got the wrong guy. But on the inside, Lee Harris finds an ally in his sally, Robert, who swears to tell the truth about what happened to Lee and free his friend. And if you're with me, your goal to, I'll take care of you. I'm going to be with you. You stuck with me for life. Listen to the Crying Wolf podcast, starting on October 22nd, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:12:50 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey there, I'm Kyle McLaughlin. You might know me as that guy from Twin Peaks, Sex in the City, or just the Internet's dad. I have a new podcast called What Are We Even Doing, where I embark on a noble quest to understand the brilliant chaos of youth culture. Daddy's looking good.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Each week, I invite someone fascinating to join me, actors, musicians, creatives, highly evolved digital life forms. and we talk about what they love. Sometimes I'll drizzle a little honey in there too from feeling sexy in the morning. What keeps them going? And you're maybe my biggest competition on social media.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Like when a kid says bra to me. And how they're navigating this high-speed roller coaster we call reality. In Australia, you're looking out for snakes, spiders, and f***is. Right. Hey, he's no train mcdougol. This is like the comment section of my Instagram. Join me and my delightful guests every Thursday. And let's get weird together.
Starting point is 00:13:48 in a good way. Listen to what are we even doing on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Again, we asked this question in reverse earlier, but from your perspective, let's talk about it in terms of this experience. If we set you up on a date and it goes really well, and the next day we set you up on a date with somebody different and it goes really well, are you okay dating two people at once? Yes, until I figure out which one I like more, and then I'm going to cut the other one loose.
Starting point is 00:14:26 How quickly are you going to try to figure out who you like more? How quickly? Yeah. It's just a normal process. It just happens organically. You just feel connected to one person, where if you kiss someone and you feel that connection. I mean, I think it's not something you plan for.
Starting point is 00:14:44 It just happens, at least that's way it's been for me. Now we are going to talk about sex, Kathy. I knew you get there, Ben. I know. It seems to be a thing. Okay, I have to break the news. Yeah? I don't want to get pregnant.
Starting point is 00:14:58 I don't want to get. Oh, goodness. I can't wait for you, but that's it. I hope that's a headline. I want somebody pick that statement up is Kathy Swartz says she doesn't want to get pregnant. That would be absolutely fantastic for this. Yeah, I don't. And I, you know, I don't want a nurse.
Starting point is 00:15:16 I have these boobs have done all the nursing they're doing that that shop's close to but how what is the appropriate amount of time until you sleep with someone you know I'm again I'm nothing if not honest I don't sleep with a guy on the first date probably not a second date but maybe after that if I'm really into them but I'll tell you the better answer and I mean that answer is true but the more complete answer is I don't sleep with men unless I'm either in a relationship with them or I see a high potential to be in a relationship with him. It's not just like a one-night fling. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:15:58 That is not who I am. It's not, do you want to go to the movies or have sex? No. No. That seems like a while. Wait, has that been a question or like a statement told you before? Do you want to go to the movies or have sex? Oh, I mean, I've had men.
Starting point is 00:16:14 and say to me, listen, I really would like to, literally, I really like to have sex with you. How do you feel about that? And I'll come straight in the eye and I say, are we in a relationship yet? And they said, well, we just started dating. I said, exactly. Let me know when we're in relationship. Oh, Kathy, this is going to be fun. We're going to have some great conversations along the way.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Final question for you. What is your goal from famously available? whole mod card to find the man who loves me, I love him, and we feel so grateful that we found each other at this last great chapter of our lives, this juncture where we're both looking for our person and by some magical align of the moon and the stars, kismet, call it whatever you want, we find each other, that's what I'm looking for. And I believe it can happen. Kathy, you've mentioned this a few times.
Starting point is 00:17:14 I know I said we're going to close up. But you keep saying this is the last final chapter. What it sounds like to me is you're taking away from the idea or opportunity that you could maybe have a really fun, serious relationship that would end and we would have to start over again. Is the standard here one and done? When I say the last break chapter, the ideal for me is. to find that person to, you know, walk into the sunset with.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Mind you, I don't want to roll them in a wheelchair into the sunset. Can we be clear on that as well? But, yeah, things happen. You can date someone for three or four years, a year, six months, and something changes. I just think at my age, I've had enough experience and enough wisdom and I've learned enough life lessons that I would be surprised if I ended up with a guy and six months or a year later, I said, yeah, I'm done because I have too much knowledge to walk into that kind of relationship.
Starting point is 00:18:19 We've mentioned a few times here what throws you off about somebody on a date or when you're dating. This is always a healthy practice that I try to do daily in my life. What do you think throws somebody off about you? I think when people first meet me, sometimes I'm like, puppy. I'm so exuberant and they might say, whoa, you know, back girl. And so I've tried to temper that a little bit. I think it takes a little while Keith said that actually on Paradise. There's something happened and I started to cry and he said, I can't believe you need to show that side
Starting point is 00:18:57 a few more. It's hard for me to immediately be vulnerable. So I think that's something I have to work on. See, I don't see that in you. I remember we walked in even to the reunion. of Paradise and I was in an office kind of getting prepped, walked in, saw the group, saw you, and you were in tears just from seeing these other humans again. Yeah, who'd make me cry again, because people are so important to me. Relationships are so important to me. And I loved, would I love to have met someone on Paradise? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:31 But the relationships with those young ins and getting to be close with friends with the goldens that were there. That fed my soul. It really did. And seeing the moose, I was overwhelmed at how joy. I mean, I'm crying again. There's wonderful people. That is the best thing that's come from this TV reality deal for me. Yeah, we could see that. I could see it when I was there was that you just really love these people. This is my final question now. Well, you know, I think people have wondered, I haven't heard you necessarily answer it even during the reunion. you say things like, hey, Gary wasn't right for me. I see that.
Starting point is 00:20:10 I get that. Keith seems like the perfect fit for you. Like when I think of your ideal man at this stage of life, it's Keith. What didn't work there? Well, to be fair, Keith is looking for a younger woman. And Keith is, he works full time. He wants a woman who lives in California. I mean, and quite frankly,
Starting point is 00:20:36 our relationship just started as friends it's never you know he's never said he wanted to date me and and keith is like a guy's guy you know yeah i'm yeah he's a guy's he spends a lot of time with guys and i don't i want the guy i want to spend time with me and the guys not exclusively with me don't get me wrong but you know a guy who is is uh when it comes time to play golf you know doesn't that I use my foot wedge and doesn't care that, you know, my seven iron sucks, but he wants to break off with me occasionally, not just go out with the guys. Fair, fair. That makes sense. Kathy, thank you for the rapid fire. Thank you for giving us all the intel and the details. We'll continue to get this thing going. This has been famously available with our golden gal Kathy Swartz.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Kathy, thanks for joining us. Until next time, I've been Ben. In the heat of battle, your squad relies on you. Don't let them down. Unlock elite gaming tech at Lenovo.com.
