Starting point is 00:03:08 in beautiful napa valley i am having the best time with i do part two crew um new friends i'm actually seeing some old friends so we've been talking about this little matchmaking moment that we've had here on the podcast. And I have sitting next to me, the man of the hour, I want you guys to please welcome Pascal from the Golden Bachelorette back to the pod. Hello, my new friend. Hello, hello. Pascal, how are you? I am so happy to be sitting here with you. We have had a chance to get to know each other a little bit tonight. Yes. And it's been an absolute pleasure. Same here. Thank you. Thank you for saying that. Pascal. Yes. Again, I've had a chance to spend a little bit of time with you today into tonight. And it's been a pleasure.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I'm a big fan already. I watched a little bit of you on the Golden Bachelorette. You got very close to the end there. But you were charming. I was charmed. The audience was charmed. I think Joan was charmed. The world was charmed. But now we're going to talk about Kelly being charmed. So Pascal. Talk to me about you and Kelly. You're slid into her DMs, tell me why, and then we're going to get into a little bit about how the night went. I slim into the DM.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I think there was a little misunderstanding in here because I think what I found out from Gary, then he went into the story about the Valentine's Days, about the mystery day she was going to take for the music award. and I find that then the guy was going to go with her and then I end up seeing her with Gary and I talked to Gary on the phone
Starting point is 00:05:02 I said what happened so Gary started telling me a bit about the story so you know that's how we get in touch Kelly and I and then I think that's it but you heard that she wasn't with guy she was with Gary and then you just slid into her DMs because you thought let me jump on board
Starting point is 00:05:21 this just on board just about She's trying to be funny. Yes, you're trying to be funny. Try to be funny. And then, you know, I just told her, I said, I think I would have better match as a joke. Did you know, by the way,
Starting point is 00:05:33 did you know anything about her at this point? You didn't hear the podcast. Did you listen to the Dating Game one? I heard about the Dating Game. I heard about the Dating Game in Valentine's when she had to choose one of the Golden Bachelor to go to the Festival, the Music Award. So I heard that from Gets.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Gary as well as I heard that from guys. Okay. Okay, but I didn't know anything about Kelly. I didn't know who she was. I didn't know. I had no idea who she was now. Do you know she looked like? Not neither.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Oh, nothing. So it's just like, you know what? She says, she said, it'd be funny. Okay. All right. I like it. All right. So you took a little chance there.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I took a little chance. Yeah. Okay. So you, I, if I say it one more time, I'm going to throw up. I hate the expression slid into her DMs. Yes. The dumbest fucking expression. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I agree. I digress. I agree. Thank you. But now here we are at Live in the Vineyard, the beautiful Napa Valley, California, and you meet the beautiful Kelly Ben-Simone. So just tell me what was your first impression. The first time I saw, I thought she's very attractive, definitely.
Starting point is 00:06:38 She's tall, she's fit, she's fashionable. You met her when she was in a bikini from her. Actually, yeah, I was walking out of my hotel room. I was walking downstairs, and she was at the pool at the time. She walked out of the pool, and that's how we made. So I met her in a bikini. So I was, it was there already. So I knew where she looks.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Right, right, right. She's attractive. She's, she's well-spoken. She's got a good personality. She's a lot of fun. Was she what you pictured when you were, you know, talking to her on the pod? I didn't realize at all she was. How tall she was?
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yes, yes. Me not taking the podcast. We were both sitting down, so we couldn't really see the height. But is that a turn-on for you? Do you like tall women? I'm not, I like to be the dominant. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:07:28 How tall are you? I'm 511. You're 511. Yeah, Kelly's tall. I don't know exactly. Yeah. So you like to be, usually you like to be a little taller. I like to be a little bit taller, yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Okay. So tell me, I mean, we just came back from this whole adventure. And I guess you seem very confident to me. Were you nervous at all? I mean, I watched you guys from the beginning here. And you seem very just, I don't know, sure of yourself, easy. Did you feel that way? Were you nervous? No, I wasn't nervous. I mean, remember one time, I'm in an industry where I deal with women
Starting point is 00:08:00 all day long, okay, this is what I do for a living. So I'm much more comfortable with women than I am with men. Wow. So to me, it's very easy when there is a woman around me, it's very easy for me to engage a conversation because that's what I do. So, no, I wasn't insecure at all. I feel very confident. I knew that whatever happened after that experience, is Kelly now will be friend, okay? And that's the best part of it, is I get a new friend today. I wish that everyone, I hope that everyone's listening who is single and who is looking for love.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Here's what Pascal just said and Kelly and I spoke about it a little bit and takes it to heart. Like, at the end of the day, when you are out there and you are dating, I think the best attitude is when you meet someone new, probably not going to be a love connection. But guess what? I'm in it to make a new friend. maybe who knows we'll hit it off in a different way. But that is the best healthiest attitude, in my humble opinion. I'm sorry to interrupt.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Please go on. Yes. I mean, I think to me that's the way I look at it. You know, sometimes you look at somebody and you're very attractive to them. And then when you meet them, there is not that spark. But it doesn't mean because there is not that spark, then you cannot be friends. So I think, you know, sometimes you meet some people and you look at them and say, you know, you better keep them as a friend than lovers.
Starting point is 00:09:19 And I think Kelly is a very attractive looking woman. I think she's got a lot of class. She's got a great personality. But I see her more as a friend than a partner. Okay. So interesting. Was there anything specific that she said did, that made you feel that way? No, not at all.
Starting point is 00:09:40 I think we had a wonderful conversation during that event where we're together. You know, I mean, I just, I need, you know, to meet all about. chemistry, you know, you know when the chemistry is there or not. You know, I have enough experience over the years, my daily in my marriage. I know that to me, chemistry is extremely important. You think it's like hit or miss, like boom. Yes, it's in a mess. You see somebody who says, you know, that's the person you want to get to know. You know there is, there is fire there, okay? And to me, when I see Kelly, I see her, don't get me wrong, Kelly is a beautiful She's a knockout.
Starting point is 00:10:17 She's a knockout, okay? She's, I mean, she's got a lot of confidence, and I think she's a wonderful woman, but I need that spark, and I had the same problem when I was in the Golden Badger. I was going to say. I didn't have the spark for Joan. I think Joan is a wonderful woman. She's classy, well-spoken, well-dressed, elegant, easy to talk to, but I just didn't have that spark. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
Starting point is 00:11:18 He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Fischel, writer Strong, and Wilfredel from PodMeets World. And we're bringing you Viva Las Content. That's right.
Starting point is 00:11:45 we are back in Las Vegas, the city of sin, and giving the people what they want. A full week of Y2K content. Wait, we're back in Vegas? Tell me why. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richardson and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage, and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Boy band, please. Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us, gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur, Ashley Simpson-Ross, joins us to talk about her upcoming sold-out Vegas residency. It's a full week of nostalgic interviews you don't want to miss. Listen to PodMeets World on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything
Starting point is 00:12:54 changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order criminal justice system is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order Criminal Justice System on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the Unprivileged. Purpose podcast, and today I'm joined by one of the greatest athletes of all time, Novak Djokovic. The world's number one male tennis player. He's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career. Novak Djokovic! You've been through so many injuries, losses. I always showed himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose? I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic?
Starting point is 00:14:13 It's a consistent practice. It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle. When you reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement. I'm 38 this year. How far can I go? How long can I push my own limits? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Have you ever wished for a job? change but weren't sure how to make it. Maybe you felt stuck in a job, a place, or even a relationship. I'm Emily Tish Sussman, and on she pivots, I dive into the inspiring pivots of women who have taken big leaps in their lives and careers. I'm Gretchen Whitmer, Jody Sweeten. Monica Patton. Elaine Welteroff. I'm Jessica Voss. And that's when I was like, I got to go. I don't know how, but that kicked off the pivot of how to make the transition. Learn how to get comfortable pivoting because your life is going to be full of them. Every episode gets real about the why behind these changes and gives you the inspiration and maybe the push to make
Starting point is 00:15:18 your next pivot listen to these women and more on she pivots now on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts i think that kelly could tell and we'll bring her in and we'll talk a little more about that um that you weren't feeling that spark i don't think she maybe we should save this for when she's actually in the room. But, yeah, I think you guys are a little simpatico. Like she was feeling what you were putting out. Yes. She was getting that.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Did you, was there anything that you may have learned about her, about, I don't know, her parenting style or her, like, do you think about her and do you think, listen, she's a great woman. I'm sure you do think this, but not for me. Do you think of anybody else you would want to set her up with? do you see? Do you have any ideas in terms of like who she would click with if it wasn't you or why, you know? You know what? I'm not a good matchmaker's. You know, I just don't know her that well. I mean, I did spend a little time with her and we talked a little bit about our
Starting point is 00:16:28 married divorce. Was there any flirting going on? Was there any? No, no, not nothing like that. Okay. I think, you know, we talk a little bit about a ex-husband, a children, where she live. How long did you have found out than she was living in France in Paris for quite a few years? She speaks French fluently so we engaged a bit of the French conversation together. That was wonderful.
Starting point is 00:16:52 But no, she didn't do anything to turn me off or make me get away from it. I enjoy a company. I just don't think this is a good fit for me. So I just want to say this to our listeners and I'm not a psychiatrist. I'm not a relationship expert. I'm just putting it out there
Starting point is 00:17:11 that like what I'm hearing from you is so interesting like it just because Kelly is a knockout and smart and successful and a wonderful mother but for some whatever it was the planets were not aligning you didn't feel it and there wasn't that little tiny bit of chemistry and I think that where from where Kelly's coming from I think maybe she would have given it a little more time and space and maybe, you know, seen it out. I don't know what the right thing here is. Again, I'm not a relationship expert, but it sounds like for you, you're the type of man that if you don't feel it, you don't feel it, you're not going to feel it.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Let's be friends. You can appreciate the fact that she's beautiful and desirable and wonderful. It's not even about her, but the chemistry wasn't there. And so. You know, it's not always about beauty, okay? Agreed. You know, it's not always by beauty. I think beauty is, we have a tendency to be a little bit too.
Starting point is 00:18:08 A superficial, by looking at a woman who want her to be beautiful. I mean, I've been out with some beautiful woman where the chemistry wasn't there, and I went out with some women who weren't so attractive where the chemistry was there. I think it's not about a beauty. It's just something chemical. The chemical, the chemistry wasn't there. And that's not some time you could develop, you have it or you don't. I mean, sometimes, you know, I've met someone.
Starting point is 00:18:35 It's there. I know I want to get to this person. I want to engage a conversation. I wanted to get to know her. And Kelly, I want to get to know her as a friend. I was not, I don't think there is any physical attraction. And again, she's a very attractive looking woman, but she's not the type of woman I'm looking for.
Starting point is 00:18:55 I don't know. I don't know why I'm thinking that this is so healthy and fabulous that we could like talk about it. You can be, you know, so appreciative of who she is. And yet say it just didn't, there was no spark for me and I don't know like it just makes to me if I'm single I feel like that's so encouraging you know you can go out with someone they could see that you're a wonderful person interesting beautiful intelligent and just that's okay that there's not a spark there and so
Starting point is 00:19:23 you just we just keep moving right because you're going to spark with someone else yes yes yes yes I mean it's not about Kelly or you necessarily or it's just it's there it's not and that's I mean, you know it when he's there or is not, you know, I've got enough experience in over the years with dating and marriage. Yeah. And I know then, you know, he has to be that special sense, that special touch, the special, who makes you want to get to know her. Yeah, I think that some people feel like, like maybe Kelly felt like she would have given it some more time and maybe that would have, you guys could have found that. But it doesn't really matter in the end. You both, it seems to me, you both thought that he, she thought wonderful things about you as well.
Starting point is 00:20:10 She said all nice things to say. Okay. So now we move on. But before we move on, we're bringing Kelly back in. Okay. Okay. Which you know is going to be fun. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:20 We're all adults. Oh, yes. I think this is so evolved. We've handled it all so beautifully. Yeah. And we're going to bring back your new friend. Okay. Kelly Benson.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Love to. Love to. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, it's Danielle Fischel. Writer Strong.
