Starting point is 00:01:59 Spegg, host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and this month we're helping you make sense of the person that you are becoming, from setting boundaries and navigating friendships to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment. Sometimes our biggest decisions, without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly want, but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone. Listen to the Psychology of Your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio. Hey, everyone.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Welcome back to another episode of The Almost Famous Podcast. We are together after a holiday weekend. Ben, how was your weekend? What'd you do? My family was out here, actually. And we went to the park. We played in the yard. Yeah, this sounds like my kind of weekend.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Is this a weekend? That was it. It we did go to Nashville for a few days to see Jess's family and spend time with them, which was fantastic and get winning around her cousins. But then we came back here on Saturday and played in the yard for the last three days. It was fantastic. What about you? Ben, wait till your second child comes and you're just like, wait a second. You have no time to rest.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Like weekends, you still don't think you have time to rest now. Well, because I work every weekend. So I'm gone on the weekends more than like the weekdays. Sometimes I get a day off, but usually I don't. Well, I feel guilty taking a day off ever. I don't. If I could get space, I would love to. But, yeah, I mean, I would say this year I've worked 75% of the weekends,
Starting point is 00:03:51 traveled or been gone for them. So, you know, this wasn't a work. We went and saw family. So it was great. But the idea of having a lazy or nothing Saturday or Sunday would be a unique idea. Okay, this is, I should clarify. I definitely have days off. They're called the weekends and they're with the kids.
Starting point is 00:04:10 What I feel guilty about is ever taking one of my weekdays that I have our nanny here and do and use it as an off day for myself. Like I can't imagine just being like, okay, well, you're paying someone to be here. so you should just lie in bed and eat junk food and watch TV all day. Like that sounds like my dream off day. But I haven't had that since I guess I was pregnant with Hayden and I didn't really have any option. I just needed it. My body needed it.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Yeah. I do take a nap every day. I take a 20 minute nap starting at 2.30. I'm a high in 20 minutes. I can't do 20 minutes at all. Yeah. So I've closed my eyes for 20 minutes and that is a good reprieve. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:56 So the weekends are the weekends. If we're not working or going to something, then we're, then I don't really know what to do with myself. So, you know, it's just the way life is and it's great. But, you know, we're right back at it today. And we're going to break down all the headlines because nobody is just really taking breaks, including Bachelor Nation, Ashley. Big news coming out of Bachelor Nation to kick this headlines off. Bachelor's Peter Weber expecting twins with girlfriend Jaden Carr. This is crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Are you surprised? Yes. Are you surprised? Yes. The last time we had Peter on the podcast, which I don't even know it was a year ago, it was me alone, and he had another girlfriend that he was revealing, that he was, was starting to see. And he had since broken up with her and then got together with this girlfriend. But he wasn't even like out. And we kind of like broke the news when he was on there. We're going to have to see what that date was. I really feel like it was in the past calendar year. But now he has a new girlfriend
Starting point is 00:06:08 that he did hard launch September 14th. And of course, they probably knew they were pregnant. She was pregnant on August 14th. So I guess come out with their relationship before coming out. on September 3rd that they're pregnant with twins because it's, well, they don't say twins. It says one plus one equals four heart. So yeah. Do we have confirmation that it's twins outside of this? I mean, that's pretty obvious. Well, I mean, maybe they're like including a dog.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Not from them, but it looks like there's comments and nobody's denying it. Okay. I'm sure Barb will be out there being like, it is twins. Any second. Yeah. It's wild. I mean, goodness, new life is always exciting. But having twins with a girlfriend, you know what it's like to have two. I know what it's like to have one and one on the way. Kids are the best gift in the world. They are spectacular in every way. They're so fun. But it is
Starting point is 00:07:12 it is not easy if you are not on the same page with your partner. And even my wife, wife and I, who I love dearly, have had moments, days where we don't feel like we're on the same page. We're two ships, you know, crossing in the night, or we're just not aligned on how we want to do things like functionally. And marriage helps us sit down and say, okay, I love you. We're in this for the long haul. How are we going to figure this out? I do think there would be a complexity when it's unexpected. When it's so early, when it's so early in a relationship. If they were you know, together, but it had been two, three years, then that's one thing. But yeah, if it's so early on and you're going to throw twins into the mix, like, you're
Starting point is 00:07:57 basically putting it, you've got a commitment ring on. You're 100%. You're locked, locked and loaded. But I will say, I will always celebrate new life. Always. I just, I see this. And I'm more of like a coming from the outsider looking and being like, oh boy. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Like I hope this is the best. I don't know their relationship. I hope it is the tightest, most solid boyfriend-girlfriend relationship ever for the two of them and for the kids. Yeah. Same. Same. Same. Congratulations, guys. Like, you know, obviously. Definitely in order.
Starting point is 00:08:34 I'm sure they're so happy. I'm sure they are very happy. Was there a moment where they were probably like, oh, shit, probably. I mean, I think if I found out Jessica was having twins. If I was, yeah, if I was pregnant with twins, I don't. Holy shit. Even if it was our first. Yeah, be like, this is insane.
Starting point is 00:08:55 How do we navigate it? But we wish them nothing but the best. Yeah. I hope that you guys are like soulmates and you would have gotten married regardless and all that. I feel like, I feel like from everybody who knows him closely knows that, like he is totally head over heels for her. Good. Great.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah. Get Bell Pure Fiber Internet with Crave Netflix and Disney Plus from $94 a month. Price guaranteed for two years on internet with a two-year term and auto pay credit. Visit bell.ca for details and to check availability. Bell, connection is everything. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months. I survived, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the survivors.
Starting point is 00:09:54 files. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed, and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't. stories about what's taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:10:39 On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero. And I travel by myself. because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If your bookshelf and your For You page are equally important to your
Starting point is 00:11:42 personality, welcome home. This is Prose Society, the weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks Pride and Pressure and Love Island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo, and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story. I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed.
Starting point is 00:12:08 From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, then that is a Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro Society on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. Self Care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. but sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff, and understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spegg, the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s,
Starting point is 00:13:08 from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter-life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, The quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Tyler Cameron says joining Dancing with the Stars was the quickest yes ever. It's hard to say no to the Dancing with the Stars, you know? It's good money, good opportunity, long time franchise, fun, and also a little harder in your body. But I am not surprised to hear from Tyler that it is the quickest yes ever because I think it's a lot of people's quickest yes. He said that this is even more exciting because his fiancé Tate is actually a pretty great dancer herself. It was like her dream to be one of the professional dancers. So she's going to have a ball in the ball room, he says. And this is a great time.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Like just like, you know, looking on the outside in, I feel like for them, this is like such a great time for this. They're in a great spot in their relationship. They've been together for over two years. They just got engaged. They're happy, but they don't have kids yet. They don't have to be in that wedding planning phase. Like this is a great couple months to just have.
Starting point is 00:14:51 fun with this and we all know that he's going to excel because the man already did a dancing show the dirty dancing show where he was basically like kind of Patrick Swayze's role and he's he's gonna kill this and he's got he has the whole fan base behind him like he I can already see Tyler in the top three do you remember the days where it felt like Dance with the Stars was going to be gone from television I personally not a huge star fan like I'm a fan of the entity. Like, I'm a fan of big pop culture things that have
Starting point is 00:15:27 huge fan bases and a lot of excitement around them. Like, I always will, like, support those types of things. For example, like, I don't like Marvel. But when Jared gets excited about a new, like, Avengers trailer coming out, like, I understand the excitement. Dancing Gloos stars is similar.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I think it's a fun concept. I like seeing the celebrities dance sometimes, but I'm never going to like sit, I personally, like, if it wasn't work-related. Very rarely am I going to, like, sit down and watch an episode for myself. This season between Tyler and then mostly, love you, Tyler.
Starting point is 00:16:00 But mostly because of Taylor Hansen, I can find myself actually following along with the season. Taylor Hanson, Ben, I'm not sure you probably, you probably know Hansen, the Hansen brothers based on... I know the band, yes. Based on Umbab.
Starting point is 00:16:14 But you know that it was... It's... There have been one of my very favorite bands forever. I do know that. Yes, you know that I said that on TV once on my date with Wells. And they actually aired that. And it was very cool for them to air something like that. Because typically they wouldn't be like, what's your favorite band on the show?
Starting point is 00:16:31 And I said, Hanson. And then I got like, I love that the Fansons out there were like, oh my God, she's a fanci. It's like, of course I'm a Fanson. So this is cool to see Taylor out there. It will be annoying for me to have to deal as a hardcore fan with everybody being like, oh my God, Taylor Hanson. He's so cool. He's so cute.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And like I love oombo. It's like, yeah, have you been with them for the, like, in their club tours for the past 30 years, their theater tours? No. I'm a real fan. Have you? Ben, I go to like a handsome concert at least a year. Whenever they're on tour, I go. And yeah, and you don't understand.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Like, there's a real dedicated following. They have never been gone. Like, they have always been able to very comfortably support themselves with their music and they're touring. There's, they are not like some 90s has been. Like they have been current putting out albums and albums. I'm looking at it now. Yeah, they've done well. Yeah, they have done well.
Starting point is 00:17:28 And I just feel if this is going to make people discover their library of music from the past two, three decades, I'm really, really for that. Please, guys, go out and discover all the hands and gems that you've been missing out because you just listen to the mainstream. Another Tyler Cameron to host headline. Tyler Cameron to host. It's like moving on. That's what headlines are. You talk about it and you move on. Tyler Cameron is to host, let's go back to your place for HGTV.
Starting point is 00:18:00 I love this for Tyler. I love that he is like a staple on HGTV. He's good at what he does there. So this new show that Tyler will be hosting is on the back of him doing Bachelor Mansion Takeover and going home with Tyler Cameron, which was an Amazon thing in 2024. This premise is that he will be playing a matchmaker for singles, so that makes sense, looking for love in potential suitors' most personal spaces. This is incredible already in one sentence. In each episode, Tyler is going to be the guide for one hopeful romantic on three
Starting point is 00:18:38 house tours. Okay. So the one person will be taking a look at three. houses looking for design clues that reveal more about the people that live there. Sight unseen, they will choose their blind date based on nothing other than the story that their home tells. Whoa. That's awesome. Our producer Heather is like, this is a modern day room raiders, which is a show back from like MTV.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Oh, a good show. Yeah, and like the early 2000s. That was a good show. This is such a fun concept. When does it air? It looks like it'll premiere next year. Okay. Bachelor Nation's grocery store Joe reveals five daily struggles he's facing after undergoing brain surgery.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Let me just start this by saying his resilience, his determination has been an inspiration to many. Yeah, he's doing a great job. So he said I wanted to make this video mainly because I'm doing wonderful, but has it been all great? No, there are things that I'm struggling with. And he has only, you know, been in the recovery zone for like not even a month yet. So he says one over-stimulation. If I'm scrolling too much on social media, if I have the big TV on in the room and I watch it too long, I feel a little lightheaded. He goes, I'll have to go to the bedroom and turn the lights off.
Starting point is 00:20:11 He also said that socializing is another thing that he's been hesitant to do, starting to get back in. into it. He said next week there's going to be a lot of people in New York and I've been on my more cautious side. He said three anxiety, something that I've always dealt with, but definitely ramped up now. Anytime I read anything about a certain tumor, my hands will start to sweat, I get anxious, I feel 100% at times and then I tend to overdo it. I'm really an overdoer. And then he said he was struggling to make this video. And then he also said that he used to to be able to operate on very little sleep. He usually can't now.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And he said, an honorable mention is that this is going to be with me for the rest of my life. What does he mean it's going to be with him for the rest of his life? So I talked to my dad about that. It's something that can, like, I believe, depends on his stage. But it might always, I think it's always going to need to be monitored because they have a tendency to grow back. So there's just this underlying, like. Yeah. Fear, anxiety, you know, about, well, so far, he has been an inspiration.
Starting point is 00:21:23 And we know he will continue to be that. I also read this and I say, my thought is if I talk to Joe, which I did a few days ago, I would probably tell him to sleep. You don't need to go without sleep. Make it a priority in your life, Joe, you're not young. You're not young, you 40-year-old. Yeah, and you just had brain surgery. Take some time to rest, my man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Hey, you might remember these two people from Bachelor in Paradise. One of the most untalked about misses from Bachelor in Paradise season 10 was the fact that this couple got together, yet they were never on the beach at the same time. So us viewers never really got to watch them fall in love or date or flirt. How the two of them got through the whole thing with never meeting each other in the beach. Beach in season 10 is is beyond me. It sucks. Yeah, but Allie Joe and Sam McKinney
Starting point is 00:22:24 move in together after one year of long distance dating. You basically summed it up, but yeah, they've been doing long distance between South Carolina and Florida. She's in the Florida native. And now they have made their official home together at Delray Beach, Florida.
Starting point is 00:22:42 She says this move has really felt like the beginning of something completely new for us. and we're happy for them and it would be crazy and wonderful if the two of them end up getting married but a bachelor miss
Starting point is 00:22:54 for sure as you mentioned well that's all the headlines we have for today those are some bangers congratulations again to Peter Weber and Jaden Carr on expecting twins we believe allegedly twins it has not been confirmed yet
Starting point is 00:23:10 but unless they're really bad at math one plus one does not equal before, but that's the caption that they gave. Also, Tyler Cameron has a lot going on in his life. Congratulations to him. And then we wish Joe the absolute best. We'll be back this week with a ton of stuff happening on the Almost Famous Podcast.
