Big news today.
Massive news.
This is the last off-season episode we will have until the start of the premiere of The Bachelorette Charity,
be walking into the mansion dating. I don't know if we know exactly how many people yet,
but it's going to be incredible. It's like 25 or 26, 27. Remember it was less than the last few
seasons? Perfect amount of people. We're excited. We're ready. Also, Ashley, it is the week of the
birth of my wife. We celebrated her birthday this week. It was, happy birthday to Jess.
It was great. I know that you guys went to dinner and stuff last night. What else did you do? Anything?
we went to the pool, which was nice. So we hung out by the pool. We don't have our own pool,
but we do have a pool near us that we go to. We had a great dinner. We did, I did get her a gift,
something she was very surprised by. I had to, and I don't know if this is a thing, Ashley,
or how you feel about it. I would love, I'm not a big gift guy receiving or giving. It's just
not something I grew up doing. Oh, I love giving.
Yeah. You know, I like thinking of people and doing it sporadically, but it's not, I don't like the pressure of, for an actual day. Got it. Yeah. And this year, for the first time in the five years that I've been with Jessica, I want to hear your honest opinions on this. I had no clue what to get her. She does like receiving gifts. She also likes giving gifts. I had no idea what to get her, like a zero. And so I had to reach out to her mom. Her mom gave me some great.
insights and tips because when I asked Jessica, what would you like this year for birthday?
She goes, nothing. We're going to Italy. That's the gift. And I was like, that's never going to
fly. If we go to your birthday and I don't have something, something, it doesn't be big, but something.
I know that there's going to be like a little disappointment. So I had to reach out to her mom.
Here's my thing. I'm always very thankful for her mother. I'm very thankful that her mom knows
Jessica so well. Is it,
am I a bad husband because I don't know what to get my wife?
No. I think reaching out to a mom or a sister is like the most obvious thing. Yeah,
of course. Okay. Good. Well, I just want to make sure. Would you get her?
Got her necklace. She had a necklace. She's been having her eye on, I guess, for a year.
She saw it at an event that we went to. Somebody was wearing it. She fell in love with it.
Kind of sent it to her mom and said, oh, this is so beautiful. So that's what I did.
and she loved it.
Like, we had legit tears, which I've never cried over a gift in my life.
And so I, but she literally cried, which was very sweet.
So for Father's Day, this is how in sync of Jared and I are about gifts.
So first off, he was like, I don't want anything.
I don't want anything. He didn't get me anything for Mother's Day.
So he especially didn't want me to get anything.
I like, I like that move, Jared.
He got me a little chocolate in a single rose.
Get this at CBS, at 2.
a.m. the night before on his way home from work. He was thinking about you.
Which was sweet. Like, I mean, that like really took effort at 2 a.m. So I appreciated and I would
never hold it against him that he didn't get anything else. It's totally fine. Um, but I love,
also because like, I just don't need anything. I'm always like, I don't even like want to get a
gift because like I already feel like the house is too jam packed. Sure. So I'm like,
please don't bring anything else into the house. Um, but with Jared, I love giving him gifts because
like he just has these certain interests that really give to gift giving because he's so into sports
he's so into movies and you know tom brady it's just really easy to shop for him i know i've said this
before so for father's day it was funny i was like what does he what does he like actually need
like what's not like a little gimmicky gift that he would go that would go on display in his man cave
like something that he would actually use use and i was like oh he needs a bag for his softball stuff
because he's always just, like, lugging bats and bases and softballs in, like, his arms and, like, in multiple bags.
Good idea.
And we play softball.
I'm just, like, intramural, like, fun, like, girl and guy softball on Sundays.
It's like his favorite part of the week.
So I go, I'm going to go get him one of those bags that carries it all in a very nice organized way.
And I'm going to do it while he's at his softball game because his softball game lasts, like, two, two and a half to three hours.
And it's too long for me to sit there.
so I go to like one of the two games
and it's by the Dick's sporting goods
so I told Jared I was like okay I'm gonna drop you off
and then I'll go run air I'm gonna go I'm gonna go do things
and he's like what are you gonna do I'm gonna get you gift
and then he's like don't get me anything don't get me anything
he's like but if you get me anything he goes get me a bag
no at dicks for like my softball stuff
Come on, Jared.
Don't ruin it.
Are you kidding?
We had never, ever had discussion about a softball specific backpack.
So isn't that kind of cool?
It was annoying at the same time.
It's annoying to me.
I was like, yeah, it's very frustrating, right?
So I had to say right there and then I go,
how did you know that that was what I was going to get you?
Because if I had just gotten it, then he would have thought that, you know,
I just took his clue.
Yeah.
His not so subtle hint.
is not so similar. Yeah, that's more annoying. Also very good that you recognize that you're in sync. Yes. But I would have been
frustrated because, again, it's so hard for me to think of gifts that if I did get a gift or I had a gift idea and Jessica was like, you know, if I would really like that, I'm like, no, I was, I wanted you to be impressed with my, what I saw and needed.
I know. Your intuitive, like, husbandness. Yeah, I know.
which I've lacked this year very much.
No, you don't.
No, you don't.
What do you?
Why?
How so?
I didn't know where to get her.
I had no idea.
Zero, zero idea.
Ben,
it is totally fine.
Okay, so before we move on from birthdays and celebrations,
I do have to give a shout out to my bubby, my grandmother,
who will be turning 100 years old, knock on wood in 48 hours on Thursday.
So we're going to New Jersey.
We're all going to go to her house.
She doesn't, she hasn't left the house.
I want to say a couple of years.
But she'll have probably about like 30 people, like, circling in and out throughout the day.
And it's very exciting.
So she has great grandchildren.
One, only one.
One.
So Dawson is going to be, Dawson is going to have to really perform.
He's going to have to show up.
He shows up every time.
Good.
He's there.
He, like, sits on her belly in her bed.
I love it.
And she just says, so boy, beautiful.
He's just the most gorgeous boy.
Oh, well, he is.
Ashley, we do have some headlines to get to.
today. It is the last week again before season 20 of The Bachelorette. But I know you that you took some
time. You were curious to get on Instagram to get some thoughts from some of the people that
listened to the podcast. Walk us through this little segment as we do get prepped, pumped,
ready for the premiere of The Bachelorette, which will just be happening in our next episode.
Okay. Well, what I did was I have...
Instagram, just for their random thoughts on charity season, thoughts, predictions, anything like that,
like the first thing that came to your mind.
Now, I have to say, I only posted it about an hour ago, but I'm shocked at the lack of
responses that I've gotten.
So that makes me worry that there's going to be a lack of watching.
One of our headlines, let's just go into that headline.
It's a big deal that it has to do with this, the amount of people that I think will be watching.
This is the headline.
Air quotes here.
It says, sick joke.
Bachelor at fans furious over major show change for Charity Lawson's new season and claim they
won't watch. Now, Ashley, you're going to go into this here. It seems to be a problem with the
fans. We haven't gotten a great explanation for why the time change. I can't read or find out
any reason that they'd make this change thinking they would get more viewers. It definitely is a
a less desirable time slot.
You know, typically, and before we get into to your stuff here on Instagram,
typically when we lead up to this season, we are in the conversation between the two of us,
was this the good choice for the lead?
Will people buy into this lead?
Do they like the lead?
Are they invested in this lead?
Was there a better lead to choose?
Now, that conversation really isn't on my mind for charity season.
I think she's a great choice for the lead.
I think people like Charity.
I don't know if they know her well enough yet to be invested into her,
but I feel like they know her as much as they probably knew, let's say,
the Hannah Browns, when Hannah Brown came on to be the Bachelorette.
This isn't an argument for are people going to be into watching Charity Find Love or not?
This is really right now for me an argument on why aren't people watching the show?
And then if the fall up to that is, if the reason is the time slot,
is that really going to lower the viewership as much as what it feels like,
it seems it will, especially based on some of your responses.
So, Ashley, go into it.
Okay, so sports is like the one thing that needs to be live these days in order to get
ratings, okay?
Because lots of people just watch it on Hulu.
They watch it on, you know, DVR, whatever.
It's usually not a huge, I wouldn't normally think that this one hour was going to
play a huge, you know, um, factor into the ratings, except for the fact that I think people watch
the Bachelorette like sports. It's one of the shows that people actually tune into at the time
that it airs. And they watch it with friends. It's like a communal watch. And they engage on social media,
on Twitter, like very active. Yes. It's like a live event. For some reason, that's just how it's been.
So that's why I actually think the time change is going to hurt it a lot. It's claim to fame.
the Frankie Jonas and Kevin Jonas show
that is airing before
the Bachelorette now at 8 a.m. on ABC.
So I'm assuming that they were really happy
with how that show performed last season
and maybe they think there's a general
relatability with the audience.
I'm just thinking because like the host's age,
the demographic, I don't know.
But moving, and I actually think it may have gone
after the Bachelorette.
last season. So that's concerning because that means that, like, they, they really want to promote
that show more than they want to promote The Bachelorette. And it brings up a conversation or are they
facing out the Bachelorette? Are they trying to face it out almost? The franchise. Like,
why would they, like, they're prioritizing another show, basically, by moving them out of the 8 o'clock
slot. This is like what happens before they move a show to Fridays.

Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency, and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just...

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York state number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camp,
are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life,
emphasizing strict discipline, physical training,
hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program
and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming,
and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
nobody tells you anything listen to shock incarceration on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever
you get your podcasts so claim to fame uh pulled down uh less viewers than we expect the bachelorette
to you know to have so at the peak of this season uh it was the premier it was three up uh it was three up
the premiere of claim to fame pulled in 1.953 million viewers last year. It did show really
positive growth towards the end of the season. So some weeks you saw drops of 10 and 12
percent. That was kind of middle of the season. But then at the end of the season, you saw a growth
of 12.5% week over week for claim to fame. So if the Bachelorette is pulling in 1.9 million viewers
this season. That would be a low number for The Bachelorette. It wouldn't be a shockingly
known low number because past seasons have, you know, held some of those numbers.
It's the trajectory. Yeah. But I also wonder, because I am not convinced that they're phasing
out the show, uh, I think some of the recent changes in management, I think some of the, um,
the commitment to the show, some of the changes they've made. I think they're going to phase out
the luxury of the show. I don't think they're traveling internationally as much. I don't think they're
much. They did it in this season, right? I think they did for the finale. Okay. I've heard.
But that is a gigantic change for a non-COVID season. I agree. I don't know if they're,
I don't think we're like coming to the end of the bachelor at our bachelor. I don't believe that.
I believe that the show thinks, okay, we've lost a lot of viewers in the last four seasons, right?
A lot of viewers have gone away. However, the viewers that have stayed are very loyal viewers.
They are, they are loyal to our show. And they're going to watch.
watch the show no matter what. I don't, I think the people that were kind of on the fence,
the fringe viewers, the fringe, uh, the fringe fans have kind of gone. I think they still
might stop in for a week or to, to, you know, to check out and see what's going on. But I think
the loyal fans are still there, which, you know, are, is you and I. I will make this argument.
Yes, I don't like the new time slot because I am an early bird. And the more people I talk to
these days. And their 20s and their 30s, it feels like the new norm. Like staying up late is not a
cool thing anymore. It's not something, you know, maybe you do in high school, but people young and
people who are, you know, middle-aged or in their 30s like me, we enjoy going to bed early and
waking up early. We enjoy our early mornings. We have, you know, to be healthy because people in this
new generation want to be healthier. They want to work out. They want to, you know, read. They want to take
some quiet times in the morning. They just before their day gets started. And so I do think this
new time slot is concerning to me because 9 to 11 is really late. Like I am not up at 11 o'clock
ever unless it's like a Friday night and I'm, you know, out or whatever. But I think for charity,
I think she's a good enough choices lead, a popular enough choices lead. I have a feeling that
people will still tune in or at least they should tune in because I think she's going to be a really
exciting, enjoyable lead to watch.
I think her season is going to be good
because the show has to have a good season.
Like we've said it year over year,
over year, they have to have a good season.
They have to.
It's not an option anymore.
Last season was surprisingly entertaining for me.
And it ended up with a couple
that I do think isn't going to stay together.
Sure.
But Zach was, but the difference was not saying Zach was a bad lead again.
Not going into that.
People just weren't excited about him.
Weren't excited about him.
You think that people are excited.
excited about that about charity and maybe call me hung up on the fact that I really would have liked it to be
Gabby or Ariel because I just felt like we were way more invested in their love stories like the progression
of their love stories. Yes, I think, but I don't think people are making, like you don't hear that
argument out there very much. Like I think the, the Ariel's and the Gabby's, you know, maybe they go to
paradise. I think that people would have said, hey, they would have been in great leads. It's kind of the
Rachel and Gabby situation where people are like, we don't want to choose between the two of them.
make them both bachelors. I think that's why the show did that. I think with charity,
they're like, okay, great choice, but we could have had Ariel, you know, we could have had Gabby,
we could have had all three of them. So we got one of them, one of them that we wanted. Charity's
going to be great. And I think they're bought in. I don't think anybody's holding resentment
towards the show because of Arrow guy. No, no. Everybody likes her. Yeah, that's the thing. It's
undeniable. Everybody likes her. And would, you know, root for her happiness. Now, um,
I was going to say, do you think, and I'm sorry that if we're like reiterating sort of thoughts that we've had over the past couple months, but especially with the, it wasn't, this is the official announcement of the time change. For some reason, it's just becoming more of a topic of conversation with being a week out. I think if you'd done some little research beforehand, you would have figured out this was, this was coming. So I'm wondering if you're thinking they're not trying to phase out the franchise, but perhaps they're trying to
which the Hulu stream situation with Disney Plus.
You know, Disney Plus and Hulu, like, I'm confused because ABC is, like, kind of integrated into both of those streaming platforms.
Because Disney owns, uh, yeah, Hulu.
And they own ABC, so.
Let's just say it ends up on one of those, the way that Dancing with the Stars ended up on that.
And then they switched it back because their demographic, which is way older than the Bachelorette, ended up, like, not going over to streaming.
So do you think that they want to switch their spots and then have the Bachelor go over to the Hulu slash Disney Plus?
It would never work. No, I don't see it. I don't think it was, I didn't work with Dancing with the Stars. I think it was a good experiment. I think they knew it was going to be an experiment. I don't see The Bachelor or Bachelorette going to streaming.
Why? I think it would be not the worst idea. I would also compete with the other dating shows that usually put their shows out in a big.
big chunk and people watch it in a big binge, which would be kind of be fun. I mean, of course,
you're going to get lots of spoilers, but that's exactly what Love is Blind does. Yeah, I mean,
exactly. I think with The Bachelor and Bachelor, one of the hooks still is that you never know
what's going to happen week over week. It's the cliffhangers at the end of the episodes. And I think
if they are cool with people binging it, great. I just think it dramatically changes how people watch
the show. And I don't know if the viewers would be more or less, because I still think people
would tune in. But I think the Bachelor and Bachelorette are still holding on, maybe by a
thread, to this idea that we can have watch parties, that we can get together with friends,
that we can have wine and cheese and sit on a couch together, that it's an excuse for us to get
together on a certain night of the week. And it's my night out, right? It's my thing to do this week
with my friends because we've done it together since we were in college or in high school or
middle school or whatever it was.
And I still think that is the differentiator
between The Bachelor and Bachelorette
and all these other dating shows.
Is it still has the spectacle
and it still has the gathering
and like you said, it's almost like a sporting event.
It's an event still.
And the event, once the event aspect goes from this show,
I think the show really starts to go.
And I think ABC and Disney, if I was in charge,
would be trying to hold on to that event aspect.
And you see it.
with their promotions.
I mean,
not that long ago, right?
They had a massive watch party
kind of premiere party
where they brought everybody
together to watch it
at the same time.
You still have people, right?
I know you get these offers.
I get these offers every year
to come watch the premiere
at some specific space,
like a bar or whatever.
That still makes the show unique.
And you have to keep it.
Hello, Audrey's.
We normally have the Monday watch parties,
but we're definitely not going to be doing it often
this season with the 9th.
to 11 because Jared's like I just can't keep the place. I would end up having to keep the place
like working there until 12.30. Sure. A.m. And he's like, I'm not doing that on a Monday.
Okay. So what are the thoughts did you get on Instagram? Okay. So yeah. One person said, I told
them that they'd be anonymous. One person said, I have high hopes that she will actually find the one.
Another one said, I think charity is going to fall in love fast and hard. Another one said,
love her. Can't wait to see the outfits. Then some other
people were not as thrilled saying that, um, hate, you know, hate the time change, but I think
she'll find love. Some other person says, I feel like I know her more after listening to
interviews of her this week. So like I'm excited for it. Then I also have one person here that said
Instagram ruined the Bachelor franchise. Everybody's there for fame now. I don't agree with that
actually anymore.
We had that spike in the Instagram life,
and now you don't get much.
So I think people need to get over that thought.
If that's still why people are going on the show,
then they're going to be like really disappointed
because it just doesn't happen.
Really, really disappointed.
Yeah, that's not a thing anymore.
There's nobody getting famous
or making a ton of money coming off the show.
That's not what's happening.
And so I,
and I think this next, you know,
generation of contestants and leads
are going to figure that out if they haven't already
where they're like,
I'm going to go on this show because it's a cool experience.
I'm going to meet a lot of great people.
I'm going to be exposed to some really amazing opportunities,
maybe not financially or through social media,
but just opportunities in general.
And maybe I'll find love.
And that would be great.
But I think the famous side,
the social media side is gone.
That's no longer a narrative.
We really need to pound into the ground.
Hammer home.
I agree.
Yeah.
And as a result,
people will be there for the right reasons now more than ever,
I think.
because if you're not there for the right reasons, you're really wasting your time.
There's very little financial benefit.
And I think people, you know, we've talked about years past.
I think people think that people get off the show and they just make a ton of money.
Everybody, right?
Everybody gets off.
Some have done very well for themselves.
Some have really found their niche in the social media realm or they've done hosting or they've
done events or they've done podcasts or et cetera.
They found the way around in this world.
for most part no it doesn't happen it's not a thing um and uh and i i think viewers maybe will enjoy the show
more if they know they're watching people who are not going to come off the show and i've told
this story before you know i had people calling me after uh their time on the show and they'd say
i know everybody comes out the show and they become instant millionaires and i said that's not true
it's not a thing um that's that's not how this works instant instant just people are just throwing money
Yeah, people are throwing money at you.
That's not what's happening.
And so I hope a charity season,
we've now kind of said that narrative is no longer a thing.
I hope for charity season,
we see these contestants in a better light
because they're there for the right reasons.
And if they're the villain still,
or all those things, great.
But they're not doing it for fame
because fame is not going to come from it.
Well, Ashley, the bachelor's season,
it's a week away.
We're very excited for it.
We're going to be watching it.
We're going to be breaking it down right here on the Almost Famous Podcast.
We're going to be talking about charity season, all their guys.
We're going to give our first predictions after the premiere.
We have some really exciting things coming up for the premiere.
We are leaving the off season.
That has been a great off season with some incredible content, right?
We had a Jojo and Jordan interview.
We had a couple live interviews with some past leads.
We got to talk to Zach and Katie.

Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency.
and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane
with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do my eyes close.

Well, we do have headlines.
Let's dive into him now.
The first headline is this, Bachelor Nation's Kelly Flanagan.
Debues new romance.
Well, after her split with Peter.
Ooh.
It was fast.
It seemed fast.
Maybe it wasn't.
It seemed faster via Instagram.
We'll say that because they never, like, made an announcement that they had split.
remember her and Peter? Because I think the second dating time around, which was about when we're like, let's guess to me like seven months. I don't know if it was ever like to the very much exclusive title. And I think that they just kind of knew that they were revisiting it for fun. I don't know. I'm also kind of just like assuming here. Okay. And we yeah, because we never got that official announcement that they broke up, it seems like it was fast because it went from just like Instagram post with Peter to Instagram post with this guy.
But it was even back in April that Peter was at an event and he was asked if he was single and he said yes.
So it's been like over two months.
And yeah, so let's just talk about what we see here.
Kelly is, is she in Greece at a wedding?
I think she said it's some formal event and she's looking gorgeous and she has this very handsome man on her arm.
And the caption is simply three heart emojis, but her mom hilarious.
She's obsessed. Her mom is feeling this couple. Maybe her mom is happy that she moved on from Peter. Also, maybe I'm just assuming things and trying to make drama. But this is what she says underneath the photo. Great looking couple. Best of the lot. Guy of my dreams for my daughter. Greek, Greek, Greek, because Kelly is part Greek and goes, what else can I ask for? He's a dream vote. That's my generation's way of describing one.
a great catch. Go get him, Kelly. We're all behind you. Goodness gracious.
I mean, I'm all for it. However, this couple better be very serious because if not, if I'm
Ari and I'm reading this, I'm like, we just started dating two weeks ago. Like, I would be like,
oh, there's a lot of pressure on me. But he is an entrepreneur. He is, uh, like, who is he? I was
confused because when I first saw this, it sounded almost like she was paired up with a celebrity
right now. Like, people seem to have known who he is. Do my, am I supposed to know who he is?
Uh, I don't think you would know who he is. According to what I have found, he's definitely
an entrepreneur. He's the founder and CEO of, uh, some transportation companies. So I don't know
exactly what he's transporting. But he, he, he is a hundred percent.
working at some point in his life in the marijuana industry because he was considered a top 40
rising star in the industry. But this is back. The last known article I have on him is when he was 30
in 2017. Okay. So what does that make him now? Oh, so he's like 37. Yeah. And it's Talaria
transportation was his company. And it was kind of to, it was
based in medical marijuana back then. I don't know if they ventured out as
you know, marijuana has became more legalized. Yeah. Uh, recreationally throughout the U.S.
But he, uh, it's a very successful company. Uh, at least it was. I would have to do a little
more research to see where they stand now. But he, he is an entrepreneur. He is living in that
space. Very handsome man. Uh, so good for Kelly. We're always run for Kelly. And, uh, we hope
Peter also finds his way to somebody. Um, sure he's doing.
just fine.
I heard that Peter may be flirting with somebody from from Zach's season, but we'll
or further former season.
We'll have to, we'll have to figure that out.
Maybe a little busy and those will be in headlines next week.
Yeah.
Okay.
Next headline is this.
Bachelor Nations, Haley Ferguson opens up about emotionally draining failed I-U-I attempt.
That's according to us weekly.
This is really, this is like sad.
So Haley and her, well, it's not sad yet.
I mean, there's plenty of hope.
There's so much hope ahead of Haley with this fertility journey that she's on right now.
But she's on one because they've been trying to conceive, I want to say, it's been close to a year, like, since their wedding.
You know, like maybe the end of last summer.
And she had to undergo a hystereoscopy to remove a polyp that was in her uterus.
And since then, she's been in the process of starting.
IUI. So she describes IUI as kind of like the first step that they offer before you go
do IVF. And it's kind of a way she said to trigger ovulation and to get like the perfect
timing. So what you do is you go into the office like at least I think like three days in a row
at a specific time that they know that like the egg is good. It's a perfect time for insemination.
Right. So they did one attempt of this and you're on certain hormones to make sure
that it's also like your body is like prepared and ready um she's really sad because this one
didn't work out but she's going to go for another round and she says that um it actually the odds of
it working more the the odds increase with each time that you do it or at least with time one um two
and three there's a better chance of you conceiving with those times um she says on her tic talk
that it's an extremely, extremely emotionally draining time for her.
And I'm sure it's not easy that she and her sister Emily got married within months of each other.
Yeah.
They got engaged within months of each other.
And now Emily just gave birth to her son Beckham and now, and now Haley is in the situation where she's just trying and it's not happening.
She said she's gotten to this point where it seems like she just assumes that every pregnancy test she's going to take.
It's going to be a negative because she's like, you know, you just.
assume that is just not great positive. It's very draining. She said, it's very disappointing.
And she's trying to stay very, very super positive because she said, this is a quote,
the second round of IUI because your chances your success rate goes up a bit higher on your second
or third time. So that's really, that's great, uplifting news. And she said that because of the
stuff that she needs to be on for the process, she's feeling like very bloated and getting a little
weight gain. She doesn't feel like herself and she's not confident in her.
right now, which she all knows is normal to be going through something like this, but
she said that, you know, the one thing you feel like you should be able to do as a woman is get
pregnant. So when it's not happening, she just says she feels very insecure because of it.
But, you know, there's a lot, a lot of stuff that they have, you know, that they have
in front of them to attempt. So I'm keeping positive for them. And to Haley, just my advice,
was to stay as positive as you can be as well
because the more you stress about it,
I know it sounds silly,
but it really supposedly affects your body
in the way that it helps with conception
if you're not stressed.
Sure. Yeah. Definitely. That makes sense.
Well, Abigail and Noah, you know,
they've met on the beach.
Abigail Herringer reveals what caused her hearing loss.
And if she and Noah will have deaf children,
This according to The Bachelor Nation, Ashley, this is the first time I believe Abigail has opened up about what actually caused her hearing loss.
So it's very interesting to read this headline.
Okay, so Abigail has this series on her Instagram.
It's called Hear Me Out and she talks about her hearing loss once a week in this video.
And it's really interesting.
Each week there's something new that she talks about like there's one where she talked about her cochlear implant.
And this week, this is what she shared.
both my sister and I have hearing loss due to what's called
and pardon me for not knowing how to say this
connection 26 you're right
while my mom and my biological dad were hearing
they both carried this recessive gene
with this recessive gene there is one
a one in four chance of rachel and i being born death
interesting so both of them got that one and four chance
and she goes and the odds just happened to work that it was
twice in a row. She said, ConX26 is the most common cause for a profound hearing loss.
It's non-sendromic, meaning that there's no other medical issues with this mutation except for
hearing loss. My mom didn't do any genetic testing before I was born. She said in kindergarten,
she eventually underwent genetic testing to find out
what was causing the hearing loss
and that's when they learned that it was Connix 26.
She also said as far as passing on the genetic mutation
to her future children, which do you like the way that she's referring
to her future children with Noah?
She says that when that time comes for us to get ready to start a family,
not anytime soon, he would need to have the Connix 26 recessive
gene in order for our child to have the one and four probability of being born death.
Some of you guys asked if we would do the genetic testing beforehand and we just decided that
wasn't necessary for us. A lot of parents opt out to do it. A lot of parents opt to do it to relieve
any surprises or to even help them better prepare. But for us, it was a personal choice not to do
it. No matter how our child's born, deaf or not will handle it as a family and we'll go from there.
So they've had these come. I mean, there's a lot here, right? And
it's interesting to learn more, but they've had these conversations about what they would do.
So they're obviously planning, like family planning right now and having conversations about
how they would navigate all this. So it feels like, I mean, not that we ever doubted it,
but their relationships in a really good spot. And it's also really great of Abigail to be
doing this Instagram series because I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who, you know,
are watching it and feeling like, hey, they can relate, less alone, all those things that are really good
for the social media platforms to be used on.
So, interesting.
Yeah, there's a lot to take from that,
including that Noah and Abigail are talking about kids.
One of the series that I thought was one episode in the series
that was interesting was her deaf accent,
which I've never heard it put like that before.
But she says that, you know,
the way that she sounds when she speaks
is different when she has her implant in
versus when she has,
does she have an implant?
It's like the hearing aid.
in and when she doesn't.
Yeah.
She has a cochlear implant.
She has the cochlear implant.
But I do think it's funny that Becca and Thomas, and then Noah and Abigail are both
couples that didn't even leave that season of Bachelor in Paradise together.
But like perhaps it was one of those situations in which, you know, they weren't ready to get
engaged.
So then they were sort of less pressure.
Yeah. They were like, if you're not going to engage, get out of here, right? But now, since there is less pressure in the real world and they can like really grow that relationship naturally, it's two possible marriages and babies coming out of those.
Sounds like it. Well, that's all the headlines we have for you do. Again, this is the last week before the premiere of charity season of The Bachelorette. We're going to be breaking down everything. We're
excited. We're ready. We hope you watch. Charity's going to be an incredible
Bachelorette. I believe, I believe her cast will rise to the occasion because the show
needs them to. It has to have a good season. I think this is going to be a really good season
to watch. So we hope you watch and then tune in every week to break it down with us. We'll keep
you up to date on all the headlines, all the news, all the goss, the hot goss.
Oh my God. That's so genuine. Z of you.
I'm doing great.
And we'll be back next week, again, with the premiere of The Bachelorette.
Season 20, you want to know some crazy, Ashley?
Season 20, you were the season 20 Bachelor?

The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs.
