It's the stars of the scrubbing in podcast.
They are rock stars in their own way.
They're award winning.
They're friends.
They're also with us all weekend in the mountains of Colorado in Meredith, Colorado,
for Dean and Kaelan's wedding
and yes they're here to talk about all
the dirty details of the wedding
Tanya and Becca welcome to the
Almost Famous podcast.
Wow.
Thank you for we'll cheer ourselves.
Guys, I'm so jealous
that you get to record together in that studio.
It's so fun.
Like, if y'all were here, this would be
an absolute perfect scenario.
Yeah.
We are big in the in-person
phase of life.
We like, we like refuse
guests to be on Zoom. I like that. Really? I mean, if you have the luxury, go for it. Yeah. Yeah, but
if it was like Patrick Dempsey or something, we'll take him over Zoom. I hear something funny before
you get started. I don't know how I got on it, but like maybe three days ago, I was scrolling
through Instagram. There's a picture of Patrick Dempsey on there. And I started looking at his pictures
because of his fashion. Like I'm trying to get into this, like I want to be a little more fashionable,
Well, not a lot, but I just want to start wearing clothes that, like, feel like an almost 40-year-old.
And- But you're not.
I was still on the other side of 30.
Yeah.
Wait, what?
You're younger than me.
I'm like, wait.
Yeah.
And I also feel like you are kind of fashionable.
Yeah.
Look at the way you killed it this weekend.
That's our first question is talking about fashion.
I think that that's what inspired you.
Is it not?
Yeah.
It might be what it's better.
Anyways, my whole point is that dude is good looking.
Like, that dude is really attractive.
Like, there is not a picture on his social media doing whatever that you're not like,
that is a good looking fella.
And he's just aging like fine, fine wine.
Is he hotter now than he was?
Or is it just like impressive that he was able to like stay so hot?
So I thought that that he was hotter than he was.
But then you had to watch old episodes and you're like, oh, never mind.
I saw this whole montage of him from like different years.
Me too.
Did you post that or did we just have the same exact algorithm?
I think we have that makes sense.
So we have the same algorithm.
That makes very much sense to me.
But, yeah, I did see some, like, around 2017, where I was like, oh, yeah.
He was, that was a good time for him, too.
This is hairline.
He just got good hair.
Anyways, we're not here to talk about that.
We're here to talk about other good hairlines, which is Dean.
We can talk about Patrick Dempsey for a great hairline.
Don't open that.
Dean's hair is going to be there forever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Dean is looking good.
Okay, let's kick it off with this.
The fashion of the weekend.
We can start now explaining the themes and kind of what Kaelan's vision.
for this wedding was.
I'm going to set the stage for what the weekend was, though.
We went to Meredith, Colorado, which is a very small town.
In fact, it doesn't even have a town as a general store.
It is about an hour away from Basalt, Colorado, which is where Dean grew up.
This lodge that we went to was made into a camp.
They called it Camp Bell, because their new last name is Bell.
So all of their guests, most of their guests, were invited to stay on property,
which meant no cell phone service.
All of us were eating in the same place.
We were living in cabins kind of around this main cabin.
It felt very similar to summer camp.
And I would say, what, there was 65 or so people there on property.
And the first day that we arrive, Kaelin has planned camp games.
And so they really wanted all their friends to meet each other and enjoy some type of activity together.
So they planned camp games, which included, like, um, water, uh, water balloon toss,
egg races, um, three, um, three-legged races, tug a war, flip cup, um, just the games that
you remember as a kid, right?
Flip cup.
Totally a kid game.
Play flip cup until I was in college.
Yeah.
Well, flip cup with water.
It was flip up with water.
So you could have played an end in the eight.
Yeah.
Um, I think Becca and myself were the, you know,
two out of this group that were there for the camp games, right?
Yeah, because Sonia and I wrote together.
Yeah, because you guys came in a little later in the day that day.
Becca, I've always known you to be competitive.
Yeah.
There was a side of myself that came out during these games that I told myself,
please don't let it come out.
Like, don't show them that you're crazy.
And it still did.
Wow.
I didn't see that for me.
I missed it.
It was mostly when cheating started to happen.
I'm not a fan of cheating.
Oh, me, either.
Who cheated?
There was not to name names, but there was somebody who's also a part of the wedding
whose team during the race where you spun around on a baseball bat and then ran,
dizzy bat and ran to the other side that did not spend five times.
They spent less than five times.
Was that your wife?
It might have been.
I heard she did win.
She's fast, though.
Becca, the camp games I really did, though, think, you know, these teams were all mixed.
They're random draws.
It really did help us get to know some of the people that are a part of Kaylin and the
Dean's life who were not a part of Bachelor Nation or that we've known before.
Right.
Yeah, I also get so competitive, but I told myself the same thing.
I'm like, you know what?
All these people don't know me, so they don't know that this is coming.
coming from a good place.
It's just a dark part of me, but like it's from a good place.
And so when I got my team and I saw we were mostly all women, we had the least amount
of people because Robbie was supposed to be on our team and he didn't show up.
He would have been a good asset.
Yeah, well, he wasn't there.
So it was like, we had the least amount of people.
And then all girls except for two guys, I think, on our team where some of the teams were
all men, like muscles.
Mine, mine.
My team was all men.
We had one girl and she was pregnant, so she sat out of everything.
She didn't do one event.
So, um, okay, so we can go into that.
Again, this was just a setup.
There was one really amazing piece of games that I want to talk to Becca about.
Uh, you did win one event.
Your team did win one event, right?
Were you on Haley's team?
No, no.
Uh, they, they won the whole thing.
Okay.
Well, Haley plays Flipcup.
And I didn't know this about her, but she is very competitive, obviously.
because as soon as that left cup that she flipped hit the table and she saw that she won,
there was an inner scream that came out of her that I've never seen.
It felt so good.
It felt like it was like like her savages or like her,
she connected with nature and all of a sudden she became a bear.
It was like visceral.
It was a,
it was.
Visceral is the word I'm looking for.
Yes.
She, so it was like a.
joke the whole time because she won and like her reaction. I was talking to Debbie off to the side and
I looked over and realized she won and Haley's like looking up to the sky like shaking her hands like
she had just won. She said she compared it to winning the world series. That's a quote directly from
her and I was like oh wow like I didn't know that would mean so much. Did she like I never got chosen
to play like flip cup or anything and I won for my team. So it was like a huge moment.
things there.
It was deep rooted.
So it felt it felt lighthearted on the, on the top.
But like, it was a deep rooted reaction that came out.
But she was on Cloud 9 from that moment the whole weekend.
I really think it set a vibe for the whole games then.
Like her reaction, I think, spurred all of us to go, this can be really fun.
Like, let's all get into it a little bit more.
Let's all take this a little more seriously.
Because I want to have a reaction like she just had.
Yeah.
Because that was crazy.
Like that was like that you like it was visceral.
Like something came out in that moment.
It was like, let's go.
She's been waiting for it.
And then her team won the whole thing.
Yeah.
It was great.
We'll flash forward them because the game's ended.
And then we go into the evening, which I know we all have very strong like we have a lot of
opinions on and about the fashion.
The theme for that evening's party, the reception or the rehearsal dinner was
Mountain Sheik.
I'll pass it off there because obviously the you all, um, prepared differently.
I did.
No.
Wait a second.
No.
We all were like, I guess we'll throw this in our suitcase because it like might be the
only thing in my closet that's about in cheek.
And you were the one that's like, I have a full on get up that I've been waiting my
whole life to wear.
I felt very at home.
You looked really good too.
Like you just.
Thank you, Ashley.
Presented yourself.
Like you were in your most confident attire.
Yeah.
I felt good.
I think that matters.
Jessica said I look good, which is obviously also what matters.
Okay, so let me ask you this.
And if you didn't, when you heard Mountain Sheik or when you saw Mountain Sheik on the invite,
you know, two of you live in L.A., Ashley, you live in Rhode Island.
I live in Colorado.
So this, that isn't like an abnormal attire for me.
If I was going on a fancy date, like I traditionally don't throw on a cowboy hat,
but I wear a lot of cowboy boots with jeans.
That's a good look.
I can wear them with soup.
I've never seen you in cowboy boots,
but I'm sure it looks good,
and I don't deny that you wear them there.
Yeah.
Well, I mean,
I don't like wear them to iHeartfest.
Not exactly what I'm pulling out.
But if I'm out here,
that's not like abnormal for me.
So for you all,
where did your mind go?
Go ahead, Tanya.
My mind went to panic
because if you could describe the opposite of my style,
I feel like it would be mountain cheek.
So I was like,
what does one wear?
I needed inspiration.
boards. I'd never owned a pair of cowboy boots. I didn't even know where to buy cowboy boots.
So I went a little panicky. But got it done, I feel like. You crushed it. Thank you so much.
Yeah. So I dropped Dawson off in Virginia for my parents to take care of him. And I was like, I remembered that in maybe the back of my
closet here, I would have my first pair of cowboy boots that I got 15 years ago when Taylor Swift used to wear the
sun dresses and the cowboy boots and
I found them and there you go
pair it with a dress.
Wow. I love that you
keep everything. Yeah. I was like
it's unhealthy. I love
that your mom keeps everything
for you. My bedroom was cleaned
out the second I moved out. I still
have my, I still have in my room.
It's fully attacked. I have my
missing dolls and shit. It's an office. It's not even a
bedroom. Wait, actually
yours is still just how you left it.
Yeah. I mean, yeah.
so it was perfectly mine when it's still 100% mine but like my mom read did it when I was in grad
school just so it looks like more like an adult room because beforehand there was it wasn't
all in sync posters like the pinups but like it was still like adult posters so like I'd
have like my American Idol posters and like um like Jonas posters and stuff and they were all
like very adult like they were all framed guys they were all everything on the wall was framed
but it was still like montage like you know montage that's not the word um like collaged
it looked like a gallery wall of jonas of posters and such so now's like half those posters
so when jared stays over with his no i don't he lays in a bedroom full of i don't
and seeing backstreet boys and yeah framed posters yeah but now they're like wet on the mouth i was
just not to say tony used to kiss her backstreet boys post for so much it had a wet like hole
from her I used to be so secretive about those kisses I'd like make sure that like there was no
little like kiss marks yeah I like actually told Kevin Richardson that I would do that to his poster
and he's like now married with children so you know he has been for like 30 years too that man got
married back in the day um also love that you were Kevin girl because you just scream Kevin
girl I know I was a Kevin girl and actually you know I thought it would be weird telling us like
married man with children that but like
all the backstrip boys really rallied around it because I feel like not a lot of people gave Kevin a lot of love.
And so like, you were the mature one because now as adults, we all see that Kevin was the hottest back then.
Exactly.
Maybe still.
Ahead of my time.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast.
So we'll find out soon.
This person writes,
has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now he's insisting we get to know each other,
but I just want her gone.
Now hold up, isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor
and they're the same age.
And it's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him
because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor?
or not. To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart
radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this until this.
that turn this. It's just... I can do my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show,
No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading

They had no idea who it was.
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
These are the coldest of cold cases, but everything is about to change.
Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA.
Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.

I was just like, ah, gotcha.

The only thing in this podcast that I've got nervous for is when boy bands are going to be brought up and we go on a complete tangent away from this subject.
Well, that's like when he talks about nature to me.
You know, it's like, yeah, nature's beautiful.
It's like he loves, you know.
We can bring this back to games, games.
James, I don't know games, like he could be in a boy band.
There we go.
Me in the middle.
So what did Dean look like, Ben?
He looked like a young Leonardo to Capro to me.
Which everybody's always said for life, but he doesn't get enough credit for it.
Well, but I think Dean goes through phases, right?
Where he lets his hair grow out and he pulls it straight back and then he kind of like doesn't, you know, really care.
But prepping for this wedding, and we talked about with Kaelin and Dean, he hiked all these 14 years.
He did, he was able to accomplish all 58 of them.
him. He got in really good shape for the wedding. And then on wedding day, he cut his hair. And he cut
his hair and it was, that dude's a good looking, good looking guy. And I think his haircut just,
you know, really helped him stand out. We have a lot of wedding details to get into. Let's go back
to the reception just for a second. I want to talk. I have something fun. The rehearsal. I have something
fun. Ben, you don't even know that you're sitting around with three girls who definitely all had like
secretive crushes on Dean back, you know, on, you know, we, we, we, the three of us always been
friends. Yeah. We all had crushes and never told each other. Not shocking. Oh, you never told
each other. No, because it was like we were all in direct competition. We were all single at the time.
We were all fighting for it.
Yeah. Tompius wasn't secretive. Okay. Actually, it was all not secretive to him, but he played it
like we were his best gal pals. Yeah. We were all the best friends. I mean, it's not shocking. I just
remember Tanya actually, like, pursuing it, right?
Yeah, there was like a moment. Remember, no, oh, you were, Becca was out and he guest
hosted the podcast with me. And he was like, pulling my leg and he was like, why wouldn't you
ever go out with me? And I was like, we're so opposite. Like, we would never work. And he was like,
just give me a shot. So we like went on on a date. And I was like, wait, maybe I could like
Dean. I think I do like Dean. And it was like very short lived. It was maybe like a week and
a half. But I remember this period of life. I remember because it became a thing. It became
way more than a thing than it ever should have.
It's all coming back to me now.
Yeah, because it was an I-Hart Festival one year.
Oh my gosh.
I will never forget it.
That I-Hart Festival, I feel like we all like shared him as like, we're like, oh, we're
his date now.
And like an hour later, it was like, oh, no, Becca's his date now.
No, I was never because I was, well, the one we're talking about, I was with Haley at the
time.
Oh, okay.
After Becca's time.
Yeah.
This is after my crush.
Yeah, this is after her crush.
Tanya.
Because you got with Haley the exact same time I got with Jared.
so we align in the story.
Yeah.
Did you really?
A couple months after, I think.
Yeah, like three months later.
So your crushes on Dean were earlier than mine.
We're like fresh off the show, Dean, like right after Rachel's season.
Yeah.
I'm glad.
I'm glad that was brought up because I do remember the I Heart Festival where this became a,
we don't have to go to the details.
I just remember being like, I have, like, this is, this is more wild than I know how to process.
Hey, Becca.
I think I cried.
I think I was right.
Peter Krause was there too.
And we were like,
screw you, Peter. We're like, Dean's, we're like, he's our golden retriever boy.
Okay. So to come back then to what this wedding is, the interesting point here is Tanya,
who we obviously have always loved and known for years now, has never been on a bachelor-esque show,
right? She's been surrounded by a bunch of people who've done this crazy show and we became
friends through it. But what we're talking about now is something that gets really weird when
you're in Bachelor Nation, that you can have crushes on people that also are your friends that
end up getting married and you're invited to the wedding. And then you're like, yeah, that works out.
Like, we're all good. Like, this isn't weird no more. Like, we're all of us here on committed
relationships and we're all pretty happy about it. But like, yeah, at one point in time, I really
thought, you know, you and I had something. Yeah. It was actually funny. I brought my fiancee to the
wedding. And I feel like at some point I told him that, like, I had a crush on Dean. And he was
like, I could not see you with Dean. I was like, yeah, I know. But we all had a crush on
him, you know?
Wow.
Yeah.
It is a lot of cross-contamination in the bachelor world, but it feels very normalized when
you're, Tanya's very bachelor-adjacent, so she's always just been.
She's the girl that wasn't on the show, but we all feel like she could have been.
And if you really wanted to have been, you could have been.
And we could just tell people she was and no one would question it.
It was like a deep cut one season.
This comes into the next portion of what I want to talk about.
with you because I had to have a heart to heart with Wells. Nobody here knows this yet.
Becca, this is about you personally. Um, so you should get nervous. Um, this is good.
This is good. Uh, so we obviously all go. So Wells had a crush on Becca, obviously, but they never dated
because neither them knew it. And I didn't know that. Um, no, I'm totally kidding. I was like,
I'm just going with a theme here. No, no, no, no. So, uh, we play field games on day one before the
party that evening. And,
we have a couple hours in between.
And so all of us are kind of going back to our cabins and we start like pouring some drinks
and we're catching up because a lot of these people we don't get to see in person very often.
And Becca and Haley are there.
And I've met Haley a few times.
I don't know how many, a few times.
Jess and I have always, we're really excited for this weekend because we get to be around
Haley again, because a lot of you, I do see more and I know more about your life.
I don't know Haley that well yet.
And so I was excited to be around her.
And so going into what we were just talking about, I'm sitting there and Haley is standing with
Becca and I. Somebody else asked the question, like, how do you guys all know each other? And I go,
well, Becca and I made out once or a couple times. And I left it at that. Like, again, that's
not a weird thing for me to say or think about. It's not awkward for me to think that at one point
in my life, like Beck and I tried to pursue something because we both. That is so crazy to
think about. Yeah. It is wild. Well, so this kind of gets said.
and I do this a lot, and it will lead to another question later on in the show
that I want to talk to you all about because I think it's relatable. So I say it, don't think much
of it, everybody leaves Wells and I are sending a step. And all of a sudden, I have this
massive amount of anxiety that comes over me. And I'm like, I should not have said that. That was
so inappropriate of me to say in front of Haley. I never, like, I don't think that makes me feel
weird, but I bet it makes her feel weird because she's not a part of this world. She's not like
in the weird intermingling mix that we've all dated each other at some point in our life.
And that would have been like somebody standing there saying that, you know, to Jess and I probably would have felt a little weird about it or like had to kind of laugh it off and be like, whatever.
So I talked to Wells about this for 45 minutes. Like, why do I do this to myself? Why do I say the stupidest things and the stupidest scenarios when I really was excited to see Haley and not like, I never went into seeing her being like, hey, let me say something that's really going to like make her mad at me for the next 24 hours. And I, Wells like talked me off of a ledge. But he was also like, yeah, we all have to remember.
that, like, those jokes that we say in our weird little family,
they don't work for everybody.
Well, I was telling her, like,
after the fact we were talking about,
we were, like, laughing about all the crossover of everyone at the wedding.
Yeah.
What does that mean?
Is this what you were saying?
Is this what he does?
Is he crying?
Is he okay?
He just goes to the bathroom.
I mean, it thinks we should just continue.
I literally told me. I literally told her about this week.
It's not like we were talking and he got up.
He started engaging in conversation with Deca.
He got an edible arrangement.
He just brought in an edible arrangement.
I almost want to keep this in.
Yeah, you have to keep this.
I'm sorry, Ben just gets up mid-sentence and just
tells us.
He wants you to start telling the story.
story.
I'm just going to tell it.
And we're telling him.
Then you started that conversation.
Well, then a really nice old man just came to the door with an edible arrangement.
I'm like, I can't make this dude stand outside.
Leave it at the door.
It's not even for me.
It's for my neighbors.
And I'm holding on to until they get home.
Edelble arrangement won't let you leave it.
Someone else is a sign.
I've gone through this.
And it's for my neighbors.
He's like, hey, do you know him?
Can you drop it off?
I'm like, I kind of know.
I don't know.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay.
Okay.
So, yeah, wait, this is so interesting.
No, so I was telling Haley, I was like, I know it's so, it's probably so weird for you because we all just think of it like, I don't consider you an ex.
Like I just think of you as like my good friend.
We had this crazy experience together, but I'm not like, oh, Ben's my ex.
And so Haley will be like, you know, we're going to this thing where your exers are there.
And I'm like, I don't really think of it as that as much as I think like we went on this show together.
we tried to make it work.
It didn't work out.
But like, I truly...
Well, that's what dating is.
Okay, but...
It's not a monogamous relationship.
If you had gone on a date in real life,
would it have made it more awkward?
No, I don't think so.
Because you guys never went on a date in real life.
If she went on two dates,
like, that's basically what I did with Ben.
I went on two one-on-one dates, I think.
Yeah.
And then she, we went to an event
and that person was there
and they had just made out a couple times.
I don't know that I would be,
like I'm uncomfortable you know so I tried to just say it in that way and I'm like I know it's weird
because we talk about it so casually and like yeah flippantly so you know I think I just when when she's
in those situations I just have to make sure to be like hey like you know grab her hand or just like
let her know like where it's all good but I think she was I don't think she was ever in a position
where she felt anything where you would need to have anxiety about it.
Well, I think my point is by, and I guess we probably all could get a little more careful
in social situations with people that probably are not familiar or comfortable with that
because if your partner who obviously cares about you, all of us, has any type of like,
not jealousy, but just like it's weird, right? You don't want to be surrounded by your, your,
your partner who you loves other people that they've dated in their life. I guess how I see it
when I see like all of these people who are part of the show or that we've had crossover with
or we've tried to pursue dates with. It's like we did that because of this like not only attraction
of like, hey, you're a beautiful person, but like respect of hey, I think you're somebody that would be
like worth pursuing in my life or at least figuring out if it works or not. And for me, that is a
compliment more than anything else. Like, hey, I like who you are as a person. Me are obviously
not going to work out romantically. But I would hope that Jessica would like come to an event
and see a bunch of people that have dated. I mean, like at this, some point in their life,
like, they at least thought enough of my like now husband to like want to pursue him for
marriage. Now, it didn't work out for them. But at least they thought highly of him. Like at least
they said yes to a date. To play devil's advocate, it's the attraction that makes it awkward, though.
It's not the respect.
It's the fact that, like, they thought they were hot enough to make out with them.
Yeah.
And so that probably hasn't changed.
They still probably think they're pretty hot.
Wait, I need to know, Ben, did you come back from that spiral?
So, like, you said that and then, like, went into a corner, talked to Wells for an hour.
And then, like, how did you come back from that?
You know, it's interesting.
Okay, so this is the question I was going to ask coming up.
So then I sit next to Beck and Haley the next morning at breakfast.
And Haley, I think, comes in and mentions that, hey, she has a lot of social
like, Becca and Haley, I think we're both talking about. Like, after a lot of social interaction
with people for long periods of time, you can oftentimes wake up the next morning and have this like,
you guys put a good word to it, Becca, but like this like social like anxiety. Like, why did I say
that? Or why did I do that at that moment? And so I was still carrying that. I would say I'd still
care today. But they're the ones that bring it up about their, they're separate like communications
with people. And they explained it. And it made me feel a little bit better because it's like,
yes, all of us have said something stupid in the last 12 hours of being around each other.
Like, I'm not alone in that. And so maybe we can just all forgive each other for saying
something that made somebody else feel uncomfortable.
I woke up this morning and was like, did I, in my mind, like, I was like, no one likes me
from the weekend. Like, I had a full-blown, like, mental anxiety situation where I was like,
did I, I just was going over every single conversation. We had it yesterday because we were
like making a joke about like our cabin and sharing a bathroom like as like a joke and like it's like a bit
for the podcast you know and I feel I felt bad I'm like I hope Kaelin doesn't think that we're like
actually upset about the situation yeah because like we're not at all and I loved it but then like I just felt
really bad I was like I hope she knows that like we're totally joking yeah so I went through that spiral
I got on I got on today's podcast with Ashley I said hey do you hate me like after spending this much time
I was like are you still mad at me and I was like wait a second mad at you about what did
I was just checking in
just like if you were mad at me
you had a free space to tell me right now
because I don't know
I think we're all super weird
so a bunch of weirdos
show up to the mountains together
and here's
here's like how this scenario plays out
we are in cabins
we are together with no cell phone service
we spend a lot of time
with each other this weekend
it was and for me
it was a very sacred experience
because I just don't get to do that
with you people
like, and we also don't
do it without cell phones or other people
pulling at your attention or one of us going
to do an interview. There was
games, like a lot of like
chess and card games
and fish bowl, which
Tommy taught us all how to play, which
is great because I'm not a game person, but that was
a pretty great game. Yeah, it's a really great
game. And we won our team. You guys,
all of us were on one team. I got
not Ben. Not Ben. No, Ben.
Absolutely destroyed. Absolutely
destroyed.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Oh, wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now, hold up.
Isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age.
It's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?

and so there was a lot of that there was like communal breakfasts obviously we had the rehearsal dinner
that was absolutely beautiful it was outside Ashley and I kind of made we talked about it on
our first show as a kind of entering into this one that everybody is very nervous about the cold
and very nervous about animals now I don't think any of us that
this weekend saw a bear, right?
No.
No.
Are we sad about that now?
I wouldn't have seen a bear.
I wouldn't have been cool.
I would have seen a bear.
Like, if I was, like, in a safe space, I think that would have been cool.
But the biggest animal that caused fear was Alistair, Dean and Kaelin's dog.
They removed Alistair's teeth because it has such a biting problem.
He still made a mark on someone's hand.
And he chased me.
On two feet, he chased.
me. I tried to pet him and I didn't know. So I go to pet him and he snaps at me which I was like,
oh my gosh. And then he starts running after me like on his back legs. It was like my bear fear
immediately was replaced by Al. The only fear that was caused was by Ben because he's like this
alarmist texting us all days before the wedding saying like, oh, just make sure that you don't
eat a Snickers bar before the wedding. And I'm like, I just made my homemade Snickers literally last night.
And I'm panicking that a bear is going to like swallow me. I didn't pack perfume.
because you said this.
Like, I didn't want to, like,
I didn't want to have any sweets in the cabin
to allure the bears.
Like, I was so panicked.
They don't like fake snickers.
They only like the real deal.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not your healthy snickers stuff.
Yeah.
And I,
I said all this half joking,
but half also being serious.
It was going to be really cold at night.
And also please make sure you don't keep your treats
outside your cabin.
Because if you want to see a bear,
just leave something food related outside of your cabin.
And I bet,
the morning, it's no longer going to be there.
But nobody saw a bear.
Nobody had any issues.
The best part is, Haley comes walking into the room on Saturday night and she was like,
you guys, a mouse pooped in my suitcase.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, so we're all like, great.
There's a mouse in our cabin and it's pooped in Haley's suitcase.
There's poop dropping, she says.
So I go, let me see these poop droppings.
I waddle on into their room.
I'm like, where are they?
She points in the corner of her suitcase.
Raisinettes.
I get a clean X to, like, investigate
because I'm like, I don't believe that it's rhinestones.
The whole cabin's mood shifted
because we were like, oh my God, there's a rat.
Like, I was so scared to like pack and like move around.
And luckily, Tanya was brave enough to go in there and check it out.
And yeah, it was just some rhinestones.
Yeah.
And to get credit to this whole venue, it was so nice.
Like the cabins, the log cabins that we stayed in, it was beautiful.
The main cabin.
and was absolutely gorgeous.
Yeah.
A lot of good fire time.
Very possible that mice could get into these cabins.
It was a very rustic experience.
This was like,
I could tell personally that this was a wedding plan by Kaelin,
but had a lot of influence by Dean
and what she thought he would want for a wedding
because it felt like,
and in fact, when we were pulling up,
Wells was in the car with me and he's like,
this place feels just like Dean.
Like, it just feels like deep.
And it did.
I know.
I love it.
It was even prettified beyond. Yeah. Yeah, it was like such a beautiful combination of both of their personalities and styles. Like she made it this dream wedding in this place that felt comfortable and safe to him, I feel like. It was just like really, it was, I couldn't stop talking about it. Everyone I've told him, like, that was the coolest thing. And I was so happy we were all there together. Like we left like on the drive to Denver and we were like, we obviously had so much trouble with Tanya and Robbie. We spent a lot of time with them. And we just like love.
hanging out with both of you and your partners.
I get so, like, emotional just thinking about, like, how blessed we are to, like, found
these friendships from the show because, like, I don't, there are few groups of people
that, like, I have that we can, like, get together as groups and have, like, that kind
of camaraderie, even though we only see each other, like, a couple times a year.
And it's just so nice.
And I really get mushy about it, like, every single time because I'm so thankful for it,
because I never had that, like, group of friends.
it's really special to have that as adults and to be able to like yeah like we don't get to
see each other a lot because we all live in different places but when we do it is so special
and fun and like easy to just like catch back up and yeah i think haley i know that jared i wasn't
sitting there but jared i guess said something that like really impacted her about something that
she's working on and yeah we won't talk about what they were talking about because it's secret yeah
she sat next to robbie and he made her cry and i was like it's just
cool being surrounded by these people
that like I love so much
and who have taken her in
and like are such an encouragement to her
it's just it's it was just really special
yeah and then I have been who says something stupid
and then I have been
my favorite
video of the weekend is you
start a dance and then I'm going to
post it Haley joins in and it like
starts and then Tanya joins in
and then Debbie joins it it's like a
mini flash mob yeah it's really cute
I was going to say what's nice is that
like we were all friends like I'd want to say like at least six years ago and then well Jared was obviously part of this but then like you three found somebody else and like your spouses basically I'm just going to go significant others basically just like integrated so well and like now like we have like a friend griven used to like love everyone so much and like everybody just gels it's nice yeah it is so nice I felt like that too like I was like that you know look we
We, the four of us, would have never shared a cabin.
Like, if we, let's just say it was like free for all and there was rooms available.
We would, we would have gotten our own separate rooms.
And I'm like, and I thought it was so special that we got to like do our makeup together and like wake up together.
Like I felt like I was in college again.
And I love that so much.
And like, because we didn't have cell service.
So we would just like walk to the main cabin and whoever was out there doing whatever.
We would just like join in, go on hikes, go fishing.
Like, and everybody just was so open and welcoming to everybody.
It was just like such a nice feeling.
Ben, how does Jess handle those situations?
Because we were talking about that earlier.
And she's been in it a little bit longer and been around it probably more than even
Haley has.
But how does she handle like just the, like kind of the weird bachelor camaraderie?
It's weird for her.
I think it's odd.
It's only been odd a few times when it feels like the people she meets from the franchise
don't accept her in, which does happen. And I feel it even in some of these bachelor groups,
right, where you're like, it's very clicky in some levels. I think the people that obviously she
gets excited to see are people that, one, you could assume she gets excited to see. And then obviously
the people that she has been around and wanted to be around more. And it was also why when we were
going up there, I sent the text to, you know, the group and I said, Jess is just really excited to see
you guys because we were talking about it. And like, that's a big feel.
for me when she's excited to be around the people from this franchise. Because the show has
very little impact on our relationship. It does not get talked about. It does not get brought up.
She's not, she doesn't really watch the show at all. And so we just like it, we don't have to
like to cross that line very often. But when we do, it feels really good for me to bring that part
of my life into now this new season of my life and feel like I don't have to leave one of them
behind. Like it feels like they both kind of grew up together. And she, and you guys have
always. I mean, I told Tanya, I told you this years ago when she first met you and she's known
Ashley for longer. But like, you guys were just so sweet to her that first time at I Heart Fest when it was
her first time having any public appearance ever. Like, she's never been like on a red carpet.
And all of a sudden, she finds herself at I Heart Fest on a red carpet. And she's like, I'm so nervous.
And like, this isn't like something I'm used to. And you guys brought her in and made her feel very
welcome with that. And I think ever since then there's a safety there. When it comes to the comments like I made,
which I do think is just inappropriate,
and I should be more careful of those things
because I don't think we can throw it around
as flippantly as we get older.
I just, I don't think she hears it.
I don't think people are saying it to her very often.
And also when she would hear it,
she's just like, yeah, that was just a weird time in his life.
Like I don't, like there's not like a,
you know, we got married for a reason.
We're together for a reason.
I think as you're together longer,
that kind of fades.
You're like, no, he's not looking to do that again.
like he's very you know like that's it's just a season but ben like does has has jess ever
had a crush on deed i don't know if she would have even known who he was until we got together
but i bet she would have who doesn't um okay just wanted to know she could like be welcomed
into this club you know yeah yeah well i'm sure you i'm sure you yeah um okay so we are going to go
through some details yeah so we're going to go through some details so here's
what I'm going to do. I'm going to lead the headline of like what stood out from the weekend.
You all comment on it. We'll race through these pretty quick. Obviously, we've already touched
on the rehearsal dinner. That evening we played games and had a blast. People stayed up super
late. Some people are up till 4 a.m. It was wild. The next day starts out very slowly for most
people. I think it was a very slow start. This lodge that we stayed at did have a cold plunge.
I did it for both mornings. It was the only thing that kept me going. That
day, some of the activities that all of us did. We went fishing, caught some salmon. Some of our
spouses caught some salmon. Some of our friends caught salmon as we watched it, right? Robbie caught
a salmon. Yeah, his first fish ever. It felt so, yeah. That's adorable. Yeah, so we got to stand
out there as he pulled up and, I mean, the dude took it off the hook. Like, a lot of people just
are, like, weirded out by that. He just grabbed it. Took it off the hook. Said, let's go. Josh
done who is married to Debbie. Ryan, he caught a salmon when we were standing there.
That was a blast. Quick. And it was like one of my favorite times of the whole weekend because it was
very peaceful. We're all just down there casting a line hanging out. Then it's time to get ready,
obviously, for the wedding. Wedding ceremony. I'll just let you guys kind of explain it with
your own words because I think that was the next step, right? We all got ready in these cabins.
and we all walk out for this wedding
about 50 yards maybe from where we're staying
in the middle of the mountains.
So you guys can talk about my reaction.
I should post that video.
I got video of Ashley.
Just a mess.
Like Ashley, are you okay?
It was the most beautiful setup
because it was just like in the trees.
The wind was blowing.
The sun was shining.
We were all facing the aisle,
which is I love that.
I've never seen that before.
Was that why I got emotional?
before anyone walked on the aisle.
I was like, you guys, I don't know.
I'm sitting here and, like,
looking at these sedunding white roses.
And I'm, my eyes were welling up
and, like, my throat was all tight
before there was anyone in part of the ceremony walking down.
I've never seen a wedding set, like, set up like that
where the chairs are all facing towards the aisle.
I've just seen it on, like, Instagram,
inspo wedding videos.
But it was so beautiful.
And Ashley, you said something because they played,
um,
Kiss me.
No, the smile on your face.
It's a cover.
When you say nothing at all.
Yeah.
And we were taking photos when we heard it playing and I was like, oh my gosh, this
song is so beautiful.
And then you posted about it.
But it was this, the whole thing was emotional.
And then, of course, the music starts and it's lose yourself by Eminem.
And that was Dean's walkout song, which couldn't have been more Dean.
Yeah.
They didn't have bridal parties.
Yeah, they did have pride parties.
Fisciant who was Jackson, which was Dean's long-time roommate.
I hadn't seen him since they were like real roommates back in like our single days.
And they apparently all the three of them lived together during like 2020 or 2021.
And they shared an apartment part-time in L.A.
And Jackson's the best.
And he did like the greatest personalized ceremony.
It was perfect.
And he has a voice that you'd want to get to sleep listening to.
It's like, oh, Dean, and Caitlin.
It's very nice.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.

What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison
or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs
that mimic military basic training.
These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life,
emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs.
Mark had one chance to complete this program
and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you.
And we didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Nobody tells you anything.
Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Okay, so Kaelin, obviously, I mean, it kind of even feels weird to speak about it
because I don't think you can put words to just, like, one, how beautiful she was all weekend
and how, like, accommodating and hospitable she was to her guests.
And it was cool because she was also a part of field games and also a part of every breakfast.
and then all of a sudden she disappears on wedding day
and comes back just and comes back down the aisle
and I'll let you all take it from there.
Well, she comes down to kiss me
by suspense then the richer.
And it literally felt like I was in a movie.
I felt like I was watching a rom-com movie scene.
Like it was perfection.
She kind of ran down the aisle.
She kind of like skipped.
Yeah, I also too have never been to a wedding
that was just like, official.
bride, groom.
It was like so intimate.
Like I felt like, yeah, I don't know.
I've never felt that before.
Like it just felt very...
Yeah.
The lack of formality made it even more emotional.
Yeah.
It was like very intimate.
Now, I did have another awkward bin moment this weekend.
There's probably many that I don't even know happen.
So you guys could probably fill me on all that.
I've told Ashley this before.
You know, I really love going to weddings.
And I love doing this.
I have this thing where,
typically it's set up where everybody's sitting facing, you know, the bride and groom and
you're not turned sideways. And you're usually at a pretty, a lot bigger wedding than what we were.
So I see Kaylin walk down the aisle and I'm like, my goodness. Like it's exactly what I did.
I mean, like I said, you can't even put words to just how beautiful Kaylin is and how amazing
she's been for Dean and all of us. But then I always turn to the groom because I want to see his
reaction. So I do it, right? Not thinking I have a
like old cowboy hat on and I'm the only one turn facing Dean so you know what Dean does he gives me
a head and on and a wink as she's like at the aisle and then afterwards he's like yeah I had to because
it's so awkward everybody was looking the opposite direction you're the only one looking at me I didn't
know what to do you have to look at the groom though that's a 27 dresses rule I think I just did it
quicker than everybody else okay because I think I'm always torn you do have to go back and forth
yeah you just stood out because you had your hat on well I just have my hat on it's a very big
wide turn.
Wait, we have to go back to something
because you mentioned something
about Kailin, how beautiful she looked all weekend.
And we didn't touch on her rehearsal dinner.
I can't even talk about it.
I'm like, I'm being silent here about Kailen's look
because like you just, you can't talk about it.
It's just too perfect.
She's perfect in like sweats.
So like, like no makeup and sweats.
Kailen's stunning in person.
Like I know people see photos of her.
Like she's so beautiful and has like the sweetest heart.
Her look for the mountain she could tie.
I've never seen anything like it.
It belongs in Vogue.
She was like parent trap mom when she puts the hat on the model in parent trap.
Oh, yeah.
Like the classic look that everybody's like kind of like going for now.
Like they're trying to kind of copy that look.
But like she did it.
She did it.
And she made it way better than the original.
It was perfect.
Yeah, she really looked perfect.
So I just wanted to touch on that.
She stops you in your tracks.
I think that's what happens.
And then obviously together we've all now.
came to the conclusion, they were a very good-looking couple together because Dean is very good-looking
and we obviously know Caitlin's beautiful. The ceremony itself was emotional. It's, you know,
there were a lot of tears, but it was informal in a lot of ways also. There wasn't a lot of
formality. There wasn't anybody else really standing up there with them. You know, we're in the
middle of this kind of like valley in the hills and the mountains. But when it comes to the vows,
there is a beauty to just it letting you come, like letting it come from the heart.
And I told Ashley this before the wedding started.
But Dean and I got to play golf together last week.
And I said, hey, man, how do you feel like emotionally?
Because like for me, I broke down at my wedding.
I did.
I didn't expect to.
I didn't plan on it.
But you just do.
It's a very weird experience.
He goes, I'm kind of nervous because I've, because he said, I've been practicing my vows when I hike
because I don't listen to music.
I don't listen to podcast.
And I've been hiking so much that I've been like rehearsing my vows.
And every time I do, I start to cry, like ball.
And then people walk past me in the mountains and I get, I feel embarrassed and I'm crying.
And so like, I'm nervous.
I'm going to cry and feel embarrassed about it.
And I was like, well, that's totally different when you're at your wedding.
Cry it as much as you want.
But then he gets up there and Kaelin gets up there.
And it's time for us to talk about their vows.
And I think it got a lot of us like at a deep level.
Why was that?
Well, the mom part, of course.
Like, you know, that was, Dean bringing up his mom was going to obviously just really do us in.
And I, you know, it's one of those moments, really, you're not going to remember, like, word for word what they said.
But I know that she got brought up with, like, him bringing back their proposal and how, like, feathers have always been, like, a sign that his mom's around.
And that, like, right after he got that on one knee, Kailen, like, came running to him being like, look, Dean, a feather.
so I know I'm like I can barely listen to you tell it I know well the part they got me because I love
Dean greatly uh and I've got to know like Dean over the years and you know Dean is a complex
individual as we all are but Dean is complex because he's very free spirited but yet he holds
on to things very tightly and he's very he's a very sensitive human but he doesn't show that
sensitivity he I think he pushes aside very quickly uh and
And we've all know, you know, if you know Dean, you know this about him.
And he had a line in his vows that I'll never forget.
Because I've seen it for seven years or six years how long or known it.
He goes, you know, for 17 years of my life since my mom's passed, I've had no purpose.
I lost my purpose when she passed.
And, Kaelin, now that I found you, I have my purpose again.
And Dean doesn't just say that.
Like when he says that there's something very deep within him saying, I'm now a husband to you.
and yes I was a son and I lost my mother
and once that happened like she was such a great woman
that didn't know where to turn
and now that I found you like
I know what I am again
and that to me is when I lost it
because like I haven't lost a parent
I haven't lost somebody very close to me to love
but like for him to struggle with that for 17 years
and I know he has
and then for him to stand up there and be like
but today's the day I have it back
ugh. Yeah.
Yeah.
I know.
I just, I feel like we've all gotten to watch Dean grow into, like when he met Kaelan, it was so different.
It was like, everything, all of us felt it because it was so different in how he was with her.
And you can watch when he talks about her or looks at her, you can feel this, just like respect or something.
Like there's something about him that just like thinks she's the greatest.
I just think it's like even in the small, nuancedy things, you know, like he said, like,
never finished a project until like you came around and like you know what I mean like little like
she really makes him a better person and like that is something that's so rare and so beautiful
and so just to know that like he found that in her is so special yeah and he's like matured but
also stayed true to himself and I think Ben what you were saying is like we know that that
sentimentality is in him but he but because he doesn't often say it out loud it was so much more
mushy. We just felt so much because he was saying it. Yeah, we felt it. Well, we only have a few
minutes left with you all. And we're going to speed round some of the last things because we can agree
Kaelin was incredible. She's beautiful. She's just awesome. She really hosted us all weekend. As much
credit I loved to give the dean for doing this wedding, he didn't have planned anything.
He said admittedly. Yeah. So, you know, she was absolutely fantastic and made for one of the most
special weekend I can remember in my life, just being with all of you and being with them and
celebrating them the way we did. Then after the wedding, we had a great sit down dinner. Nothing crazy
there with when it comes to like just a really good camaraderie, breaking bread together. And then we
went into the party, which was a party. They had the Jordan Khan band there who has been at a lot
of Bachelor Nation weddings, including my own and Ashley's wedding. They're the best band wedding
band or one of the best like live music bands I've ever heard because they put on a good show.
The unique part of their party was they did have a tattoo artist come in.
Did anybody here get a tattoo?
I had signed up.
I was getting one, but we were too far down the list and then I went to bed before.
They got to me.
Yeah, you ghosted the party early on.
Early.
There was a little good.
We already talked about it on the last podcast.
He talked about how he was going to get like social fatigue and he just wanted to leave being
his best self.
But at the tattoo thing, so you guys.
had a sheet to choose from
and they were all like pre-decided
which is why I wasn't a
total proponent of Jared getting his
first tattoo there because I would
there's just a couple specific things
that Jared's talked about getting
and I'm like I don't want you to just like put
something on your body that doesn't mean anything to you
I decided not to do it I feel like there's like a good 12 hours
like when we found out there's going to be tattoo
person there Robbie and I were like let's do it
and we were like yeah and then like as we started learning more
we were like maybe not for my first one
Yeah, I know.
I think Jared would have done it, though, for Dean.
So he put his name on the list for Dean also knowing that they probably weren't going to get to him.
But, like, yeah, I was like, I want you to do for Dean, but I also like, don't.
So many people got tattoos.
Did you see how many people got tattoos?
It was a nonstop.
That's why I said I could never get to it.
I would have either done the mountains, which I want to do anyways for a couple of reasons.
Yeah, that would have been good.
And you have plenty.
Yeah.
And my one buddy who's super sick right now who had to move from Denver, like I would have got him
kind of in memory of him
because he has that same tattoo
and I've been like, that's it.
So I really wanted that or
the other option was
blue cheese stuffed olives
which they had on there also.
I don't know why they had olives
but I was like,
I love a good martini.
Like, I think it's a little
kind of meaningful.
I love a spicy mark,
but you couldn't scale it to size
so I was going to have one like this big.
And I just said,
you know what?
I don't think that this is the move.
Do you have tattoos at all, Becca?
No.
Yeah.
So we're all.
All, like, all us girls are clean of tattoos.
So it would have been, yeah.
Yeah, and I got them.
So we were going to, it was an amazing party, a wonderful celebration.
No, no drama, which I think is an important note for us to highlight, is there was no,
at least drama that I know of.
And outside of my own causes and anxieties in my own head, um, you just don't put me
around people that much for like straight periods of time because it's a lot of fun for me.
And then I question everything.
like just don't do it you are so wonderful like I think everyone around you had an amazing
time so I'm honestly so shocked by this yeah I mean no I'm not shocked right anytime Robbie's around
you he's like Ben is such a great guy like I've never heard anybody say anything like that
you've said anything uncomfortable but it's but here's the point and I think that out of all
the details of Dean and Caitlin's wedding I think this is an important point for people listening
because you know kind of the hidden things that we find out about ourselves
and these really cool events oftentimes are relatable in a lot of ways to other people
where it's like, okay, you guys can say that. And I appreciate you saying that. It does mean a lot
to me because I do get really jacked up about it. You can ask Jess. She has to hear it.
But I don't think I'm alone in that, right? Like I think a lot of us go to these social events.
And oftentimes I think Haley and I talked about this where we'll say no to social events
because, or maybe it was you and I, Becca, like because of the fear of what we'll feel like
after we leave them. Like, will we feel this anxiety, this social anxiety, because we're like,
why do we say that? Or why didn't we talk to that person long enough? Or did we really hear what
they were saying? Did they mean something else? Like, I in my life, as I've gotten older,
have stayed away from going to social situations because I know my reaction afterwards will be
like one of like heaviness. And that's something I need to work on. And I realized it this weekend.
In a weekend that it was drama free in a weekend that was beautiful, a weekend filled with people
that we all love and care about, celebrating two people that we care about, those anxieties
still come up. And it's like, okay, now it's something I need to work on. And that's why at 2 o'clock
this afternoon, I'm going to therapy.
Oh, that's not a lie. Did you book it in response to this? Or it was just just like you're
already there. So it's perfect. Perfect timing. Okay. We do have to close an amazing time
with all of you. Thank you for coming on the podcast. Thanks for talking about it. I'm just,
it's so amazing to see how life and how God has been a
in all of our lives to keep bringing us back together in an amazing scenario with new people
in our lives as well, like the Robbies, like the Haley's. You know, Jared's always been around,
like the Jessica's. It's really fun to be able to do this together and get to see where all of us
have evolved in life. And I couldn't be more happy that we got to do this together. Me too. It was
the best. Me too. I'm sad. Thanks for having us on. We should have a retreat every year.
We should. Congratulations to Kalin and Dean. Thank you.
we're putting on the most epic wedding.
Hopefully we can just do like a year reunion.
Yeah.
