This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Hello, hello.
Hi.
We have a special guest today.
Becca.
Tilly's in the house.
Hey, Becca, bring it up.
We're so excited to have Becca here.
Becca and I have dated at one point in our life.
So it's super fun for me to be in a room where I know I'm going to get questioned about that.
Becca, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast.
Thank you.
I'm so honored to be here.
This is really, aside from.
Ashley's other podcast. This is the only other podcast I listen to on a regular basis.
I know you're a fan. I'm a huge fan. That's awesome. What is the what is your favorite thing about
the almost famous podcast? Well, I like y'all's dynamic because I love you have zero filters.
It's one of my favorite things about you. And then Ben is like the most politically correct person of all
time. I know. So it's such a nice. I don't know. Y'all are just very balanced and both, you know,
just quality people. Becca, you're too nice. So I'm going to give you a couple of
tips for being in the studio with us today. Okay. One is you have to forget that you're on a podcast
and that people will listen to it because we say things. Ben, you never say things. I was going to say
I actually might say things. Ben, you never say. Sometimes I get tweets with quotes from the podcast
and I'd be like, oh my God, I said that on record. Yeah. Well, luckily, I just get to sit here and
listen, which I think makes it work, right? I think so. That is so easy to open up to. I like, look at
his eyes. I'm just like, oh, I'll just tell you everything.
I feel like you're with that with everyone.
Did you imagine if I was on Ben's season?
Wait, this is something I try to think about a lot.
So, we know that Becca got the second place on Crystal's season, which is where we became
friends.
So I was, what, seventh?
It was seventh on Chris's season.
Best two on one ever.
So where would I have landed on Ben's season, you think?
Because you kind of downgraded.
You went from second to to fifth, fifth.
I was a runner up, went to like way down the line.
And this is where things get awkward for me today.
We'll get into that in a second.
By bed, where would I have placed?
Oh, wait, I thought you're asking her.
Now it's back to me.
No, I wasn't asking her anything.
I mean, Ashley, it's so hard to tell.
I would have been top 10, right?
Oh, my gosh, yes.
Easily top 10.
Oh, good.
I mean, you know, maybe top five.
Whoa.
Oh, I barely made the cut for two.
No, I think you would have fit in really well.
Thank you.
I think the girls that participated in the season of The Bachelor that I was a part of were all really cool.
I think I have more friends from your season currently than I have friends from Christmas season.
I think we would have got along well.
I think you would have been somebody just like you are here that makes me laugh and makes me embarrassed and pushes me out of my comfort zone.
with the things that you say.
And I, I'm always very attracted to that.
But it also, when you're speaking to anybody that wants to listen,
like our podcast, it also makes me very nervous
because something's going to get said that could come back to bite us.
Well, if I was on your season, I'd probably be so nervous.
I wouldn't be being myself.
So then it would have been a whole different scenario.
I imagine there would have been lots of breakdowns from you.
Oh, so many more tears.
So Ben, why'd you dump Becca?
Yeah.
Oh, back to the real story.
Let's, like, set the stage here.
It was a cold night in Indiana.
We had all come back from the Bahamas with a stomach blue.
You picked Kayla over Becca.
Oh?
Well, let's not just call out Kayla here.
No, she's the only one really to call out on that.
You know, here's the deal.
And this is really my thought process, okay?
Was Becca knows that I think she is wonderful.
Becca knows how much fun we had together.
I didn't on the show, but I know now, apparently.
Well, Becca, we had so much fun together.
We were great.
I knew that Lauren was somebody that was extremely special to me.
I knew that Lauren was somebody that was possibly going to be somebody I proposed to.
Now, there were some people kind of sneaking up into those feelings as well at the time.
And I thought that if I knew that that was kind of where my heart was leaning,
that to bring Becca back to her hometown would be so hard on her and her family.
And the reason I think that, all right, I feel like that, because I saw it with Nick's family.
And so I saw how much, like, how emotional it was for his second hometown, you know,
when they didn't know if he was going to end up with Caitlin or not, was they were so torn with that.
And my thought is if there's one thing in this whole franchise that nobody signed up for was the families.
The families don't sign up for this, right?
we do so you know if if if I could have taken Becca to to Jamaica I would have loved to
just like hang but it wasn't right and so I had to do the hard thing and send her home from
Warsaw but it actually was I remember being after the show being with Lauren I was like you know
what there's there's not a lot of things I need to like answer to but Becca is one of those like I
wanted Becca to know that like that was a pretty terrible situation
because I earlier in the season had promised her. I would never lead her on. I would always be
very straightforward with her. Well, what you don't realize is in The Bachelor, you have to lead
everybody on. That's the whole format of the show. Nobody knows how anybody feels about each other
to the very end, right? So I will say this. I did have to let Becca go. It wasn't fun. I could
have probably done it better. I didn't at that point know what was right and what was wrong,
but she ripped me a pretty good new one that night as we were sitting on the bench.
I saw a set of Becca hadn't seen yet.
Yeah.
Bicy side.
I think my whole, you know, I was so
picked because I'd gone through Chris's season
being like the cool girl.
Ashley was like, what's going on?
I was like, this girl hasn't cried yet,
and we are going into week five.
What is wrong with her?
I didn't cry the whole.
I cried when I talked to Chris's mom
and that was it.
And then I go on Ben's season,
and I feel like I was kept around
just until the producers could get some tears out of me.
And I feel like you pushed me to my breaking point.
No, that would have definitely been me.
I really would have said that.
Like, the producer's never kept you around.
No, I'm totally good.
Are you really kidding?
I mean, I think at some point.
We've got to break this down back because here's the deal.
We're now friends.
No, we're totally friends.
Yeah.
We were friends then.
I think we were only friends.
That was the problem.
No, but I think, you know, just like in any situation, you have people you click with.
But they have to make a show.
So there has to be people there.
So I just was like.
I hate not a place filler even though it sounds bad but you know like you knew that you had stronger
I knew that you had stronger feelings rather yeah I got a question what's up so if those those top four are you saying that those are the top four girls that you had the strongest feelings for or that you didn't want to hurt Becca and then you're just like oh it's better off to like fill another girl into the hometown spot then hurt Becca more yeah I think at that point in the show honestly I was kind of closing off feelings to as many people as I possibly could okay I was still trying to stay open but I was also trying to like narrow my phone
because the idea that in two weeks you could be proposing to somebody, you have to start
mentally preparing yourself for that. Like you don't want to be feeling like you're dating
for women and then the next week you're on one knee asking somebody to marry you. That's
an odd concept. So I think at that point in the show, my feelings for the people that I was
for the women that I was sending home were starting to get very, very closed. I wasn't allowing
myself to feel much anymore. I was focused on really two women, but ultimately as that last week
and last two weeks went on after hometowns, like, one.
And I was just trying to make sure that she was the right one for me.
Well, then what about fantasy suites?
Because if I were the-
Hey, let's have Beckin studio, let's quit Ben.
Yeah.
I feel like you're always embarrassing and calling out Ashley on her dates and stuff.
So I feel like this is healthy for you, Ben.
Oh, geez.
So if you're saying that you left hometowns really feeling strongly for one, maybe two,
why even bother with that third fantasy suite?
No, that's a good question.
I can't answer that.
I don't know.
I can't answer that for you either.
Yeah, I mean, honestly, I think having Kayla in the fantasy suite was something that it's just, I don't know.
It just seemed like as the show progressed, that was what you did.
I didn't know I really had the option.
Maybe I should have thought that through, but.
Everybody knows that option.
Andy Dorfman made sure that Chris didn't go the fantasy suite.
Jojo didn't let Chase go the fantasy suite.
Maybe that's something I should have, you know, looking back, maybe that is a scenario.
I should have put like done differently.
Um, but the, you know, the fantasy suite has these, uh, this, this idea around it.
And it doesn't always, you know, to be very politically correct.
It doesn't always have to be what the, the idea of the fantasy suite is.
And to me, it was also, um, the first moment where you're able to be alone with somebody.
And I remember for Caitlin and I, it was really the first moment that I really felt like she got
to know me as a person was in the fantasy suite.
Like for us just to talk free to be silent.
at some times like to not talk and see what that felt like because we're never able to be silent during the show yeah um so for the fantasy suit was just a really big week for me to explore what my relationships were like uh looking back it's hard for me to say i've kind of blocked out a lot of that or tried to um you know why i had caylin fantasy suite might have been and what i'm assuming was was just to try to get to know our relationship better because who knows as as the show likes to tell you let's stay open to the very very end well beck and i both had two very innocent fantasy suites so we understand
understand the meaning beyond the sexy time.
Yeah, well, thanks, Ashley.
So, Becca, what in the heck's going on with your life now?
Well, there's a lot.
I'm traveling a lot.
I'm just trying to, you know, ride this train as long as I can.
Yeah, definitely.
But also, I mean, that was just a very honest answer.
And I love it.
I think it's hard.
You get off the show and all of a sudden you have this opportunity and it's,
I think for me, I think now it's very obvious what opportunities come after.
I think when I went on both Chris's season and your season,
I had no idea that this could be my life after this.
And so I launched a blog and then focusing on fashion and beauty and what I like
and also doing a YouTube channel, which is a lot of work that I've realized.
But I'm really trying to focus on that and just, I don't know, trying to figure it out.
We've talked about it.
No, definitely.
We've talked about a lot because it is confusing coming off.
these shows you don't you don't know what to expect until you get off of it and then all of a sudden
these opportunities get thrown your way and social media becomes a way to kind of support
yourself and it's a great way to support yourself because you're able with I think what people don't
realize is you're able to monetize your social media and also be involved in multiple projects at
once and so for you you're passionate about this blog and you're passionate about this YouTube
channel but you also have a passion as you're explaining me the other day was you're trying to
explore this whole realm of humanitarian work or nonprofit work charity that you have time
to do because these other jobs don't take up maybe as much time yes well you have the time and
you have the platform like it's at some point you're doing all this stuff on social media and it's
great and you're making money and getting these opportunities but you're not there's some sort
of lack of fulfillment or like am I doing anything that's benefiting anyone other than myself
and so that's kind of been what I'm thinking about because it's it kind of gets very vapid very
quickly and I'm very grateful like I can't say it enough but there's got to be more to it
oh my god um you just like really hit a sensitive subject for me because you know no but like back in the fall
they'd be like you'd get comments on your instagram and their ads and they'd be like get a job like do
something and i'm like well because i posted this instagram i'm actually able to spend my time
organizing a charity event that raised $50,000 for charity so goes for yourself you do a lot of that
Like, you are, I mean, you're someone who's an example as far as, like, using this time and this, like, what you have available to you for something really great and both of, both of y'all.
Yeah, it's, you know, it is, it's an awesome world to be a part of.
You're going to get haters.
We all have them.
You know who has them, least of any of us?
You two.
Ashley is loved.
Becca is absolutely adored by, like, everybody out there.
She should be.
That's, like, I get why.
but I think Becca has shown herself well in these shows because that's just the person she is.
And so she moves outside of the show.
People trust her, care for her, want to see the best for her.
And she's also hilarious.
And that's why we have her in here with us today.
I'm telling you, if we can, like, get on the right topic, Becca is going to crack you up.
I mean, she has some perspective on life that her and Ashley could probably just banter.
And I'll just sit here and laugh, which would be my ideal situation for this podcast.
Well, bring up a random topic for us.
Yeah, I'm going to.
Becky, you just got out of a relationship.
Oh, my gosh.
Is that that that kind of topic?
I thought you were going to say, like, what did you last by it's aphora?
Why did you last by it's a for?
Hey, let's do a beauty hall or something.
Let's break this down.
You did just got a relationship.
Yeah, I'm single.
How are you doing?
I'm good.
Okay.
Yeah.
It kind of goes back.
X is being able to be friends.
And I think there is definitely a.
line where I could be friends with Robert right now, and I'm totally fine with it. And I think
we will be friends. I think when the relationship ends and it's kind of more maybe one-sided
or, you know, someone's feelings were hurt or someone wasn't ready for it to end, it's harder
to go into just being friends. Yeah. But I think after time, the cliche, time heals all wounds,
I think it's very possible. And you and Ben, and you and Robert were friends really.
good friends before you start dating, which I think makes it easier to go back to that
friend's date. Yeah, because it was very important friendship in my life and something that I still,
you know, I miss that and I've had to like check myself and not be selfish and asking to hang out
too soon after the breakup because I, you know, you have to be sensitive. But I think eventually
he's amazing and I want him in my life. So it's similar to what you and Jared. Totally. I would like
to ask Becca, this is Amy, the producer. Oh, hey, Amy. Hi. What I
asked Ben on our last episode when I put him in the hot seat is would you date someone else that
has been on a bachelor, bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Bachelor Winter Games, Bachelor,
blah, all the bachelors.
Well, you know, luckily there's always a new fresh batch of people coming up into these shows.
So you never know.
Should we call dibs on our guys already right now, Becca?
So we don't fight over them.
I say Dean.
Dean's my dibs.
Dean's hot.
They're both Peter and Dean.
Yeah, I know.
Well, you know what?
Peter's like a Harry Styles to me.
He's, like, so untouchable.
I just shouldn't even let my mind go there.
What?
That is so interesting to me, because I just don't, like, I feel like what you feel about Harry
Stiles, there shouldn't be anyone in Bachelor franchise who, like, should be compared.
I'm just so good.
Wait, I need more of this.
I'm so confused right now.
How do you allow yourself to get, like, head over heels for these guys?
You've participated in this show.
There's certain celebrity crushes that you allow yourself to wander there.
Wait, we're not considering Peter.
but I am suggesting
that I could never get Peter
just like I could never get
Harry Styles. Okay time out. Let's
focus this down to
Ashley, we're going to do a little bit of
an intervention right now. Beck and I are going to
lead it here. What about
yourself do you believe
that you cannot get Peter?
I actually think I'm awesome. I think you guys
both know that like I'm actually a
confident person despite what you see on TV
but I know like I'm not cool enough for
Peter, like, I would just go in front of him and start, like, blabbling about something.
And it just, he would in front it attractive.
But I think, like, Dean would think it was kind of cute.
So you're just basing it off of, like, what people tell me about myself.
No, no, no.
You're basing it off of your assessment of their, like, their personalities and how
they'd react.
Yeah.
But I think, but I think, I would say Rachel's a little more, I don't say reserved,
because I don't think she's reserved, but she's not such an open book.
like you are and maybe
Peter's just reacting to her
the way he is because it's her personality
I think that he's probably just probably too reserved
for me
to like me
but I think Jared's reserved
I mean you know him though
what if Peter's not fine you guys
oh this is I feel stupid
I'm talking about this
if you were in studio with this right now
you're going to see Ashley like with her eyes
facing the table just like not
confidently making eye contact with this because she's so
embarrassed but I do have to say
Ashley is legitimately one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen in person.
My friend said that after, we went to Vegas during Happily Ever After,
and a lot of my close friends got to meet Ashley.
And they did.
They came back and like, Ashley is one of the most beautiful people we've ever seen in real life.
But aside from her outward beauty, she really is one of the best people that I know.
So I don't get that.
So Peter, if you're out there and you're single.
And Dean.
Peter Dane.
Harry Styles.
Harry Styles.
Shees. Wells, Jared. Any of you like, Chris, please, you know, call in. Becca, let's get back to one thing. I've been wanting to tell you this, right? So let's go back to the season of The Bachelor that I was a part of and that you were on. I know there was a moment during the season. Well, I was sick the whole season, right? I think we've talked about that, but I had the stomach through the whole season. Yeah, I lost a lot of weight. Yeah, I lost like 30 pounds during the season.
Just from stress? No. So I was in Honduras, right?
before the show started and I got a parasite that I didn't know I had and it and it literally
mutated in my stomach so many times that I wasn't able to keep any food in from it's a dream for a
girl yeah how do I get one of those well poo and soil you stick your hand in the soil
you know in with poo so anyways so I ended up getting it taken care of after the show
it was actually two weeks of like heavy medication it was awful but so I was sick the whole time
We hit it well, I think.
Nobody really knew.
It wasn't contagious.
It wasn't contagious.
But I've heard that the women on the show were also really sick at one point.
And I want to hear both of your perspectives.
As you go about this show, right, the stuff that you don't see behind the scenes, like getting sick,
fighting through illness, the long hours.
Like, how do you hide that?
How do you deal with it?
Does everybody know it?
Well, we all know it.
You might not know a lot, but we're very open with each other.
in our tight-knit group in the mansion the first week on both seasons so many of the girls
were constipated could not go to and everyone was miserable we were having to like be in our bikinis
and lay out and then we were drinking and eating and it was not pleasant and a lot of people really
suffered there but you probably never knew you just came to pick us up in a helicopter
not me I never got a helicopter right on either season you don't want one and that was an issue and then
when we went to Mexico City, I got really sick with like, I thought I had strep throat.
They came and gave me some, you know, local antibiotics, which not sure, but it knocked it right
out. I was ready for my date. You had no idea. We probably kissed and I didn't even tell you
that there was potential you were going to get sick. And then when we went to the Bahamas,
we swam with the pigs and like all of us got sick and had really intense stomach issues.
I mean, it was, I mean, and I knew about that.
So that was where... Oh, you did?
Yeah, so I found out about that because all the women during my season, they'd sit down with me and be like, I'm just sorry.
Like, I don't feel good right now.
It's like, something's happening.
Like, something's going on.
And I forget who, but one of the women were like, yeah, we all have the stomach issues.
And I'm like, well, I mean, great.
I have, you know, 10 women that are just like, you know.
We were all just making sure wherever you took us for our chat that there was a restroom here by.
So here's an inside scoop from my season then is when the Bahamas, I canceled the rose ceremony.
Oh, yeah.
Because, and I'm honestly.
I showed up to the house that we're having the roast ceremony at.
And this is the part about the Bachelor and Bachelorette that isn't glamorous that you don't see.
But I remember this.
So I go into the room that I'm holding in until the women are all prepared for me to go out and talk to them.
And I am so sick.
And I have a fever.
And I'm stripped out.
I have my whole suit off.
And Harrison's like, Chris Harrison's in there.
And he's like, dude, are you making it tonight?
I'm like, I don't think so.
All the producers are coming in.
Like, Ben, what are we going to do?
Like, I cannot stand up.
I'm so sick.
And I knew what my decision was going to be.
right and i hadn't like prepped anybody to say hey i'm thinking i need to cancel this night's rose ceremony
like i already know what i'm going to do but i'm laying there i'm like i can't do it like i can't stay
can't stand that long i can't stand that long i can't talk to somebody for that long like i'm so
sick and so i actually had to cancel the rose ceremony only because of how sick i was the cocktail
party the rose ceremony sorry the cocktail party yeah i actually hated the cocktail party
yeah too so i did too and so i wasn't mad about it but yeah for all the fans out there
The Bachelor and Bachelorette isn't as glamorous as you might seem.
Like, you know, things like this happen a lot.
Or maybe not a lot.
Maybe they just happened with me.
Maybe I was the only one.
Jay didn't poop for 10 days in paradise.
Well, she's going to love you saying that.
No, no.
She came on my podcast and she talked about it.
She's very open with it.
And she had to be really open with Tanner about it because she was like,
hey, I look like I'm six months pregnant.
That's because I haven't pooped in 10 days.
Speaking of that, I mean, how cool is it that Jade is actually now pregnant?
So cute.
That child is going to be so.
beautiful yeah yeah definitely i'm glad it's a girl so naturally beautiful like in the best way um
all right so you and i've dated you've both dated chris um what does your life look out from
look like from here on out like are you done with bachelor world are you going to bachelor in paradise
you sit on the ellen thing you would do the winter games okay so i'll see you there here's the thing
this is just something we've just made up okay i have always said i wanted a basketball
Bachelor and Road Rules type show.
I said Survivor and Bachelor.
Survivor's a little much for me.
I don't think I'd survive Survivor.
But Road Rules challenge.
Amazing race I would be down for.
So when the Olympic game came up,
I'm not necessarily great at snow sports,
but I feel like I'm athletic enough
that I could maybe do well.
I'm not athletic enough, which I may not do well,
but I will give you some good TV.
That's what I was going to say.
I will not give good TV, as we all know.
No, but I could perform.
I just want to commentate.
I just want to sit back.
Oh, my God, could he be Bob Costis?
Yeah, that's all I want to do.
What's Harrison going to do?
I want to sit back, and there's Becca Tilly running down the slopes, and she crashes.
I was going to say, like, tumbling down the slope.
So here's the deal.
Before we go, and I want to mention this to both of you, so I've shared this story with Ashley,
and I want to get your perspective on it and see if this was inappropriate or not.
So I'm in New York City this last week, right?
and it's late at night and my buddy and I are walking on the street and these two girls come running up to us right and and I'm granted it's two o'clock in the morning we're walking back to the hotel so they run up to me hey bid how you doing and I'm I'm a little awkward you know a lot awkward I usually don't know what to say at the right time ever um that's not true I know right I don't know what you're you obviously have a weird sense of yourself maybe maybe intervention next time so these two girls come up to me and and I thought that
this was funny and I think I could say it to Ashley and Becca and I think they would laugh or like
at least give me a look and move on but they come up and they're like hey how's it going I'm like it's
going great just having some New York pizza like oh we just got an Indian food we're going back it's a
girl's night we're going to snuggle in the sheets and watch a movie and I'm like that's awesome
I was like Indian food always makes me blow out the sheets and they were so appalled like I literally
got a look on there like like not even like a giggle like you've ruined every thought of of you
like I had this idea of who you were been and you've ruined that which in a sense is a victory
for me that's kind of my goal for life is to ruin any like fantasy of me as they have but at the
same time I felt so awkward that I woke up you know when you wake up the next morning and you've
done something the night before that isn't that bad but bad enough where you're like
hitting your forehead and you're like why in the heck am I so stupid have you ever had those moments
yeah yeah but you know what most mornings for me yeah it's every morning when I wake up
Is that a terrible comment?
Like, is that honesty with somebody that?
I would have liked him more.
You know, I would have liked him more from that statement.
And I think that those girls are boring for not thinking that was hilarious.
I don't like people who don't think those stories are funny.
Me too.
I don't.
Because now in my back of my head, this is what it does to me.
It makes me go, do I need to try harder to be cooler?
Because, like, not in that moment.
I wasn't trying to date these girls.
I was just, like, trying to make eye conversation.
They're trying to be funny.
And now I'm like, am I that?
Like, am I, am I that lame where, like, I can't even make a joke that I, like, who knows?
See, if it lands or not.
See, for me, when I heard this story, if he had said, like, oh, Indian food makes me fart,
I would have been like, oh, my God, me too.
I did know, I thought I was alone in that.
I did not know that chicken, chicken, misal, I had to eat by myself.
No Indian food on date.
No.
So then I was thinking that maybe the way he said, below the sheets.
Like, that seems a little.
Maybe my idea of what I said and what they thought I said is now missing.
You know what?
Now that we're really going into this, blow the sheets.
Sounds weird, right?
Yeah.
I've never heard that expression before.
To the two young ladies that were beautiful and friendly up until that point, if you're listening
to this podcast, when I said blow the sheets, it wasn't an inappropriate innuendo for something
more than to the fact that my stomach gets a little bit upset when I have Indian food.
With that, let's get some callers in the line.
We have Becca in studio to answer some of these questions.
She is so much wiser than Ashley and I.
I mean, she is going to lay some wisdom down on these peeps.
Brooke in Chicago has a question.
Brooke, what's your question?
Hi, first of all, I can't believe this real life right now.
I'm talking to you guys.
I've been listening every week to your podcast.
So, yeah, I thought Colin asked for some dating advice
since I feel all your answers have been absolutely on point from previous.
Wow.
Well, geez, bro.
We can give advice.
Brooke, I like you.
Come on. Keep talking.
But really.
But, yeah, I live in Chicago, and I'm having kind of a hard time meeting guys,
which seems crazy since, you know, this city is pretty big.
You know, I have some dating apps.
I use a whole swipe left, swipe right ordeal,
but I don't really feel comfortable meeting someone from an app.
You know, even though this day and age, it's no super popular and successful for some people.
So I was wondering if any insightful or advice, you know,
on how to meet people outside of the dating app.
for some of us, you know, not wanting to go that route.
You could apply for The Bachelor.
That was my advice, too.
The only, my only pool of dating outside dating apps is my Bachelor.
Is that really?
I mean, I'm not in.
Actually, I'm not kidding that much.
Yeah, I was going to say, actually, after talking to you for a couple weeks here, it does
seem like it kind of pulls from dating apps and The Bachelor.
So I want to ask Becca, I mean, what's your, like, you've been in a relationship for a while.
So I don't know if you're back out dating or not.
You don't have to answer that.
But if you were to get back in the dating world, how would you go about it today?
Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out, Brooke.
I relate to this.
And I almost think being in a bigger city sometimes makes it harder because there's so many people and so many options that a lot of people don't take it.
You know, it's not so much about getting into a relationship.
It's about just random dates.
So luckily, I went on two seasons of The Bachelor and had got to avoid that part of my life.
And now I'm back into it.
So I would say, and don't be scared.
to go on the date just make sure you meet up with people if you're going to do it don't let them
come to your house right off the back yeah go to go yeah that's probably not the safe route yeah
you know i think this is such a good question brook and it's a question that not only uh affects
actually now the three of us in this room um but affects you and a lot of people in our generation
is it's it is confusing we've made dating i think meeting people easier with the apps and with
the the websites but in a sense it feels like and this could get on a tangent we've made
actually harder. We've made commitment harder because so easy. That's such a good point, Ashley.
We've made commitment harder by making meeting people easier. Because there are so many options that
why settle for the one that you're on a date with right there? Yeah, but Ashley and I have talked about
this a lot because I think we're both very old school mentality and how we, and I think you are too
Ben. Yeah. Yeah. How we date and assess relationships. And I think it's rare now to find people who
are genuinely, especially on those apps, looking for a relationship, but you have to put yourself
out there or you have to just go out. I don't even know. I might, I don't want to meet a guy in a
club. So when people like, you have to put yourself out there. Oh my God, we don't go out. I mean,
we go out like as part of like our job or social being. But Becca and I would never choose like,
hey, you want to go to a bar and meet guys tonight? That would never happen. You know, Brooke, we haven't
giving you any advice because i think we're all confused on this topic as well we have no we're just saying
we're here for you and with you yeah you're not alone the worst feeling in the world is being alone
and i will tell you you're not alone um my only advice um is is to stay open to the to dating
you know like beck i said i know for me the idea of going on a date makes makes me so nervous
and so if you are desiring to meet somebody you have to get through the awkwardness we've all
we've all been there done that we've had those first dates that you're so nervous for so just do it
you know if anything it will end up being a good story to tell um and be a free meal and it's a maybe
yeah i mean it has to be a free meal not always though as we've as we know from the almost
on his podcast sometimes you split the check at the end of the date don't let that happen brick
i didn't remember that um but yeah brick i took great question i don't know if we have great
advice i don't know if we have a great answer for you but stay open go on those first days
And if you find somebody through whatever means, make sure you get back to us to let us know because then we'll try that as well.
Thank you, Brooke.
I don't think we helped her at all.
Nope.
I think you guys said definitely I'm not alone and that's fantastic.
I appreciate it.
And put yourself out there and pay attention to your girlfriends who have boyfriends or husbands or whatever.
Pay attention to their friends and just see if there's anyone that interests you in that circle.
You know, I think that's probably the route I should go.
There you go. We helped, guys. We did something. We did it. We did it. Thank you, Brooke. Thank you so much. No problem. They're all awesome.
Bye, Brooke. I like Brooke. She's nice. Becca, do you know about FabFit Fum? I do. Fab Fit Fun. I know about
that. It comes off my lips a little weird. How well do you know about it? I know about it pretty well, Ben.
Ashley, can you tell everybody else about it? Yeah. Okay. So, Becca, have you been getting your, you know, your seasonal box with FavFit Fun for a while?
now. Yeah, I got him for a while. Yeah. Yeah. And they've been getting better and better every
season. So you go to fabfitfund.com, you sign up, and then you get this box that has got $200 worth
of merchandise, and you only get it for $49.99. And if you use our code, which is gift, no,
which is almost famous. So if you use our code, which is almost famous, you could get your
fab-fit fun box for only $39.99.
Are you kidding me?
It is insane.
And yesterday we had Ben try out the eye cream that came in the summer box.
And he's obsessed.
You should see how glowing here.
No crow's feet, no under-eyed circles.
And then for me, I'm obsessed with the new sunscreen that I discovered through the
Fab-Fit fun box.
It doesn't make my makeup look kicking and it doesn't make me look purple.
Becca, do you understand?
Like, you know how sometimes sunscreen will make you look purple?
I literally have no idea what you want that.
I heard that yesterday I chose not to say anything
because I just felt like it was picking on her
but now that you're here, Ashley, what in the heck do you mean purple?
I will bring in my other sunscreen.
What do you use? It sounds dangerous.
It will make me look like blue, purple pink.
That's what happens when you take sunscreen that gets shipped from you from...
No, this was from Whole Foods.
Even, that's sometimes risky too.
You're right, that is probably risky.
But anyway, this FabFit Fun Boxer summer is awesome.
And if you go to FabFitFund.com, you can get it
and tell us your favorite.
favorites for only $39.99.
Yeah, make sure to use the almost famous gift promo code when you're on your packages
and have a fab, fit, fun day for you.
And you can have eyes that look just as bright as Ben's.
Oh, Ashley.
Speaking of bright eyes, I know somebody that has some bright eyes, and it's Brittany from Illinois.
Brittany, what can we do for you?
Hi.
Hey, Brittany.
Hi.
Hey, Brittany.
By the way, we have Becca Tilly, and Steeley, and,
studio. I mean, are you kidding me right now?
She is.
Becca's here.
She's here.
Becca's celebrity.
Hi, Brittany.
Oh, my dreams are coming true.
Oh, my.
My dreams are coming true.
I love all of you guys so much.
Thank you.
We just became friends.
So are we still talking about if you can be friends with your ex or any question?
No, no.
Let's get beyond that.
What else do you have to ask?
Yeah, just come up with the topic.
So would either.
Okay, would any of you guys ever consider going on Bachelor in Paradise?
Ashley?
I know as you did, but would you go for round three?
My third round?
Not this year, not next year.
But if Dean and Peter were there?
No, you know what?
I can meet all these guys in real life.
I really don't need the show to meet these men.
Look at the confidence coming out.
Dang, girl.
Ashley, I'd probably be better off.
I'd probably be like a lot cooler.
I'm hesitant to watch this season without you being on there.
Oh, I know.
So am I.
Yeah, like, is it going to be what it was?
Yeah, I mean, I was going to ask that.
Brittany, do you think it's going to be like it was without Ashley?
Great question.
Without me and Jared.
Jared's key.
It's just, I watched, I feel like I watched it for you.
I started watching the answer because of Ben season, and then I, like, fell in love with Ashley.
So now I'm just like, I don't know.
I want to watch the support of the Bachelor Nation, but you guys aren't on it anymore.
Yeah.
Now we're old school.
I mean, it's weird to even look around this room right now and think of all of us are kind of washed up.
And now we're sitting in a studio talking about The Bachelor and Bachelorette as fans.
And we're just trying to stay alive.
Almost famous.
We almost made it.
Well, I have a question for Becca.
Because, oh, because of what you just said, though.
So if Becca were to go on Paradise, Becca, say Wells or Jared were there.
Would you ever consider dating them since we were so tight?
Ashley.
I wouldn't even look in their direction.
I appreciate that.
I'm just kidding.
I would be friends and I'd be nice.
Don't call with Kayla.
Precisely, Brittany.
We have a different relationship, I think, than Ashley and Kayla.
But I feel like there's just boundaries.
And I know a lot just from what Ashley has told me and shared with me that that would be, that would, I would never.
But do you think that it's weird to like call dibs?
or to date or not date people
that are part of the Bachelor family
because your friends have touched them?
Well, in a weird...
Literally and figuratively.
In a weird way, we're all friends,
or acquaintances at least.
I think some people are closer.
Like, there's some people that...
There's a few people that I would not go anywhere
near their ex
or who they've dated in the past.
And then there's some that are like,
I don't feel a sense of loyalty to,
because we all dated the same guy.
on the same season so I don't know it's hard to say yeah good answer definitely not wells or
but brings up a good point and in a topic maybe uh we should explore here is you know Becca
I I know desires to be a good friend to her friends and she desires to look out for their their
needs and their emotions and so she's saying here's the deal like Ashley doesn't actually has
already verbally told me it would hurt me if you dated one of these guys or I wouldn't be a fan of
watching one of my friends date one of these guys.
Not that Ashley is calling dibs.
She's not saying, hey, they're mine only.
She's saying, hey, to see you do this would just be hard for me.
And Becca's response is, okay, I'll listen.
I'll follow that.
And my relationship with you, Ashley, is more important than maybe my selfish desires to explore this relationship.
And so as a result, I'm going to be a good friend here because I care about you.
I think there are exceptions.
You know, I think that if there was a guy and your friend dated him, but you're like,
this could be my actual husband, then maybe you have to go for him.
It's just a rip.
But if it's going to be like just like a hookup fling, then.
Yeah.
Well, it is a good topic when we all deal with.
Brittany, thank you for asking that today.
Yeah.
You know, sorry about throwing your question off, but you came up with a great one.
I mean, look where we led.
Geez, we got team.
No, this is very interesting.
So, well, thanks, Brittany.
Thanks, Brittany.
Yeah, thanks, guys.
All right.
Well, that was a great conversation we had with Brittany there.
I know before we leave, we want to talk a little bit more about the episode of The Bachelorette.
Yeah, but before that, we got to give a shout out to Adam Tickets, A-T-O-M-Tickets.
This app is amazing, actually.
And I mean that.
So we're getting supported for this podcast by some great companies.
And Adam Tickets is one of them.
We truly believe in and love all these companies.
We really do.
So this Adam Tickets app, you can download the app on the app store.
What you do is you go in, if you're anywhere in the country, you can find the closest movie theater.
it comes up on the app you can buy your tickets save your seats and include in that you can even purchase something from the concession stand it will be waiting for you once you run your barcode when you walk into the movie theater and you guys that is the most special thing about this app because back in the day you know you would buy your tickets online but you still need to get there early because you'd still need to get a good seat and you'd still need to wait in the concession line but this thing you know you can leave the house 10 minutes before the movie and then bang all done all
done so you can buy your tickets invite friends and even even pre-order concessions and new to users
because you listen to this podcast you can get five dollars off if you use the promo code gift
that's gif t gift download adam tickets today all right ashley all right so before we go let's talk
about this episode of the bachelorette we finally say goodbye to lee finally who you know i think is
the most evil of men you know yeah it's okay that's yeah i i would actually actually i don't
I don't know. It's hard for me to say that, but I might agree that there's this level inside of him that, you know, he's getting jolies from making other people upset.
Yeah.
You know, he's like getting off to that.
And I don't like it.
I don't want to watch it.
He's not just, you know, damaging himself in this, but he's attacking, I think, people on the show.
And he does this weird condescending thing that is like, buddy, I love you.
But you suck.
And I don't want you to know that.
And I don't get that.
Like, how can you tell somebody, hey, we're friends.
I love you, but you're, but I want to make sure you feel really small before I leave this room.
That may be my least favorite part of him.
Yeah.
That's my least favorite aspect of him.
I'm just ready for him to go.
He makes me feel weird.
He makes me feel small.
He's doing a great job of that.
Give it to him.
I mean, he's making me feel small from my TV screen.
Remember how we were talking earlier on this season about how he just seemed fundamentally evil?
I've changed my tune a little bit more because I feel like he's just trying to play a role now.
Now I see him as, you know, he was like, oh, I'm going to go into this as the villain.
I'm going to do everything that villains do.
That might be more disturbing to me than, yeah, if he's acting that way, if he's using this opportunity to be himself and make other people hurt, that's more confusing me.
Like, why would you choose to be the villain?
Why would you choose to hurt other people?
If you have the opportunity to be caring, to be loving, to make some friends, possibly fall in love, why would you use a
opportunity just to destroy yourself and others in the process that that to me is just a deep
seated issue that we can't deal with from the show he'll have to deal with on his own let's talk
about his partner on the two on one which was kenny and how i really do love kenny i think he's a good
guy and i think he seems like a great dad based on the interaction that we see with his daughter on
face time um but kenny just seems to get caught up in a lot what i found disturbing about this was
that rachel was like i need more time with you
I'd like to get to know you better.
So let's go to this dinner portion of the date.
And then before they left, as they got on the helicopter,
Kenny was like, wait, wait, wait, I need a second.
I need to go and talk to Lee one more time.
And he just couldn't drop it.
You know how last season with Nick Taylor went back during the two-on-one with Corinne.
And then Corinne and Nick were having their dinner time.
And then Taylor walked in.
Maybe this is like a new thing that's being in.
I mean, I think everybody wants closure. And so, you know, when you're angry with somebody, you don't want to just leave. I don't know if that's enough. I will say with all this in mind, Ashley, I want to ask you, if you were in Kenny's position and you had somebody like Lee kind of poking and prodding at you for this, I mean, really since week two, kind of trying to get under your skin, would you have handled it as well as Kenny has? Or do you even feel like Kenny has handled it well?
Okay, so I thought Kenny was handling it, well, at least good for TV.
I was pretty much entertained at every little diss he threw Lee's way,
but that's also because the bad guy in the situation is obviously Lee.
And I would love to say that I would handle the situation with Grace,
but we all know that I wouldn't.
Well, I don't know if I know that you wouldn't.
Because I've done it on TV so many times.
I guess with Kelsey, I kind of did.
So Kelsey was a part of Crystal's season with you.
Kelsey was the girl in my two-on-one with me.
are both eliminated. And yeah, I gave her a piece of my mind in a pretty concise, articulate
way in like three sentences on a bed in the middle of the badlands. And then I walked away from
her. And when I walked away, I was like, you did it. You said everything you needed to say, and now
you can move on and focus on Chris. And it was kind of too late for that then. And not only that,
was it too late. It's just like, I don't think Chris and I were supposed to get married.
Well, you know, I wonder if Kenny is sitting in this situation going, I wonder, I mean, I don't want to speak for him, but I bet he's, you know, coming back and he says, okay, you've taken a big piece of this experience away from me.
That's true.
From an experience that I really was going into excited about, I left my daughter for, who I love, and you tried to get into my skin, and you did.
You did that successfully.
And I'm not going to let you just walk away from this without me at least expressing to you.
I'm hurt.
You've affected me.
This has been ruined.
totally so okay moving on then we have a bunch of crazy dates this week um one day is somebody
with that honestly i haven't known really through the whole season that's a date with a guy named
will well i think we gets no will a little bit but he's just not someone we are like invested in
why is that but you know who else we're not invested in matt and adam why are matt and adam
still there and why aren't they giving us any reason to root for them yeah i don't even know who
Matt and Adam Marr, so I can't even speak to that.
Ben, there are six guys left.
Three of them, we are pretty attached to.
That would be Dean, Peter, and Brian.
I'm very attached to them.
And now we're kind of attached to Eric because Eric's date with Rachel was so fun.
They just had a blast.
Like, I don't know that Rachel's looking at him like, oh, I'm going to marry this man,
but she's like, I would love to date this guy in real life because we just have a blast together.
What about their date?
What about their date stood out to me, to you, Ashley?
Um, the way that he wanted her to laugh and smile and he liked.
and he liked, he kept it lighthearted.
And they were drinking, they were in the hot tub
with like another barrel of men right next to them.
And then they went to the second biggest theme park on Earth.
It was all just really fun.
And, you know, he has such a happy, positive, uplifting vibe.
She just really like being around him.
So we like Eric.
There's a level to, I think, when you find somebody like Eric
that is a part of your season.
I don't know how she ends up, who she's,
ends up with but either way you keep somebody like eric around because he's he's fun or you know
there's some girls from my season then i kept around because they're they're they're they're fun
they're uplifting they make this experience a little bit better a lot better at times uh and i think that
is something to be said for that after the show is you became friends with those people and you
appreciate them a lot there's some women from my season that i appreciate a lot post airing like the
twins well the twins definitely yeah the twins were always fun emily you know was around a little longer
and anytime you hang out with somebody like Emily
you can look back and go
that was a good experience
so yeah I mean I think that's what I saw on Eric
maybe was that there's not a lot of deep connection
but there is a level of just excitement and fun
and they look like two teenagers
on their date yeah he's like smooth and sexy
and she's like this is it's fun to be flirted with
in this sort of manner definitely so we have
a one-on-one with Eric
we have a one-on-one with Will
outside of that what else stood out here from this episode we can go revisit that will date
the will date was bizarro because he has kissed her in the past but on this date he just
didn't want to touch her and she was very insecure about it it made me feel really bad
because she kept saying all season she's like I'm a touch person I'm a quality time person
those are their two um that's her two love languages and on The Bachelor I love about you Ben
And did you guys talk about love languages a lot a lot?
Yeah, we did.
Because there are some girls from my season that honestly had just read the book,
The Five Love Languages.
And also a book they read, which it meant a lot to me.
I had read a book by Donald Miller called Scary Close right before I went on the show.
And I had posted a picture of one of the excerpts from the book.
And some of the girls actually went out of the way to go buy the book and read it
so we could relate on this level that.
Oh, that's cool.
So that was actually a big topic during my whole season was,
hey, this is the things that were said in these books,
you know, what does that look like to us?
What does that feel like to us?
Which meant a lot because it makes conversation on dates a lot easier, right?
You have actually something to talk about that isn't just your, you know, the darkest,
deepest parts of yourself.
What's really weird to you guys, I will let you in a little bit.
When you're in the Bachelor bubble, there are actually few things to talk about because
there's either the stuff that's going on in the house or there's the deep, dark stuff
about your soul that we are incredibly.
courage to talk about. But there's not much going on your daily life that you could be like,
oh, hey, guess what I did today? Or like, I had this weird experience out at the grocery
store. So you're just kind of, sometimes it's a struggle for conversation. I agree with that.
No, I would say, I'd say it's always difficult to talk. But one conversation that really did
stand out from this episode was, and I think it was one of the most touching moments of the
season so far is a conversation between Kenny and his daughter. They FaceTime on this episode.
It was so cute. It was the second time we got to see Kenny FaceTime with a
his daughter. And it just says so much about his soul and him as a father. He is so attached to
his daughter, so attached that he and Rachel had the conversation where they were like, yeah,
we like each other. And we're two mature adults that know that this probably isn't going to
result in a marriage. So let's break this off now so you can go home to your daughter. Do you appreciate
that? I love the way this went down. This was one of the most heartfelt breakups I've seen on The Bachelor
because it was so mutual and there was so much love and respect between the two of them.
And when he left, he was like, that is a wonderful woman that I want my daughter to hopefully emulate one day.
Wow, that's, I mean, yeah, you got to think about that is he's leaving an experience where it wasn't exactly great for him, not by his own choice.
I think there's a lot of things that affected his experience, including Lee, but then, you know, as he's, lack of a better term, one, this one-on-one, he then comes back and he says, okay, now let's reevaluate.
You know, you've chosen me to stay, but is this a long-term relationship?
And if it isn't, I want to get home, which means a lot.
And I respect that as a man.
Yeah.
Because he's obviously searching for love.
It is so mature to say, I don't want to stick around just for the sake of getting further in this competition.
But, like, I actually want to know, is this something that's going to end up meaning anything in my life?
You know, there was a lot of comments after the show of there were tears that were shed during this conversation.
between Kenny and his daughter.
Ashley, for you, why was that conversation so emotional?
I think we got a sense of who he is at home, off camera, and who he is as a dad, of course.
And something that we don't get to see is their interpersonal relationships outside of this Bachelor bubble.
Do you enjoy, as a fan now, do you enjoy watching the episodes and getting to see kind of those two worlds collide?
Is that fun?
I mean, I guess not fun.
Is it exciting?
is it intimate like how do you feel when you see those those moments i feel warm and gooey i don't
i don't know it's i that kind of warm and gooey well when you go to hometowns like you tell me
i'm not worried about the the gooey like what's feeling gooey i don't know like melty you know
like watching kenny with his daughter was very melty okay we'll do with this all right so sorry
move on here so you felt warm and gooey i've never used that experience
expression like that before you just use it on a podcast i don't know how do i feel
my question is how do i feel in moments where we see the contestants leave their bachelor bubble
yeah definitely that would normally be seen in hometowns and hometowns only yeah and now and now we're
going to a glimpse of that before hometowns i like that okay so if that's the answer to your question
i like that a lot and i think that would be something that would be nice for the bachelor the bachelorette
to see before at the top four because I think it says a lot about somebody's character to see
them interact with their family. So on your season of The Bachelor then, were the contestants allowed
to talk to their, if they had kids, right? You had a couple, I think there was a couple of women
from your season that had kids. I had two girls from my season had kids. Were they allowed to talk to
their kids back home? Yes. They are allowed to FaceTime them. It's like every other, every third day.
I think in The Bachelor House, it was more like every third day. But then in Paradise, they let them
FaceTime more I think there's just like maybe more downtime okay nice yeah and I mean when when
they did that was always filmed uh I do think it was usually filmed yeah well you know I think
it's important for any parents that go on the show to be able to talk to their kids you know
obviously when you're there there's a lot of people you'd want to talk to but it's a different
relationship when you have kids at home yeah I mean it's very intimate it's very important for them
to continue to be the parents they want to be right and and honestly
I just think it means a probably
it means a lot to Rachel
I know it meant a lot to me
when the parents
on the show can keep a healthy
relationship with their kids back on. Right.
And I just want to like speak for Amanda for a second.
She's been getting a lot of hate lately
because it was announced that obviously
she's doing Paradise for the third time.
But she went on this rant that I
truly think is so important
for people to realize out there
that because she does this and leaves her kids
for maybe like three weeks
out of the year, she gets to provide them with an amazing life and she gets to spend all the
time with them. She's home with them all the time because she's allowed to, you know, work from
home or do events that are able to keep them financially supported. I agree. No, I think it's,
you know, it's her decision ultimately. But if who are we? And we said it many times, actually,
like who are we or anybody out there in the social media world to judge these people that we
don't know personally you and i know them personally right and some people do but who are we to
make comments like you're a bad parent for going away for a month yeah um honestly i think
with amanda especially she is able to go back home especially especially i said her right this time
right no dang it mess up every time um i'm getting better i'm trying but with Amanda there is a
level there where she's able to go home and be a better parent because of this show yeah and if
there is nobody out there unless they know Amanda personally and they're a good friend who can give
her advice that should be breaking her down or her kids down or criticizing her to level because that
hurts it stinks it's deep you and I felt that kind of stuff before it's not fun um what we should be
saying is Amanda I hope you can find a man that can support your kids as well and I was going to say
that too so not only can she spend the quality time that she does with the kids and support them
financially like she does but also last time she brought her
home a man who the kids loved and he was just he was such a presence in their life and a positive
one at that you know josh and amanda are no longer together but she will never say anything
bad about him about the way he treated the girls he loved the girls you know amanda yeah
amanda is uh somebody i know personally i think amanda is great i appreciate her she has been
an active part in my life since you know the show uh i wish amanda the best as we watch
paradise that will be coming up here very soon i know we're both excited for it
But that in itself is the essence of The Bachelor app.
It is about love, is about relationships.
It is about finding a very unique way to go about, find your relationships.
And some of that includes sacrifice, sacrificing being away from your kids for a while.
