This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHartRadio.
Hey, everybody, I'm Ben and Ashley is calling in as we speak.
She is in Virginia right now, seeing her family.
She's in studio.
We are excited, but I had to get online because we have one of our most special guests on this podcast.
He's been around a while.
Peter, are you out there?
I am here.
How are you?
Peter, please introduce yourself.
It's been a while since we've seen you.
We've missed you.
Who are you?
And what in the heck have you been doing?
Who am I?
I am Peter Krause from Madison, Wisconsin, and I am currently about the board of playing any second
here.
So I'm hanging out.
Okay, well, we've got to get going here.
What have you been up to?
I saw that you're at the final four.
I'm extremely jealous.
I'm a huge basketball fan.
My best friend is a coach at UCLA.
I was really hoping they're going to be there this year.
Didn't happen.
What are you up to with the final four?
That's why I've been working with a capital one.
I'm sure you guys know the credit.
card. And they brought me out here to come see the final four. I got to sit pretty close and
got to go all the concerts and everything and just have a really like a super fun weekend. It was a
blast. I mean, I cannot imagine the energy, especially around Loyal. Did you get to meet
Sister Jean? I did not. I got a t-shirt though. That was about the extent of it. I mean,
whoever sold those t-shirts came up with the most, yeah, brilliant ideas ever.
They were saying that she had more media than anybody else in the entire group.
More than any coach, any player, the teams altogether, she had the most.
I mean, I was going to say, she has so much attention around her.
It kind of reminds me of you about a year ago.
I mean, not too long, well, not even a year ago.
If time flies, I would be remiss, this is a Bachelor-focused podcast.
I got to ask you, Peter, moving right into his getting ready to board a
plane. I'm sorry for this, but we have to know the real reason. Why don't you do The Bachelor? These
women are going on Paradise, thinking that you were the Bachelor, so that you, hopefully, someday
you'll go to Paradise. But why didn't you actually do the Bachelor? It's not something I thought
was right for me. I was stressed out and having a hard time as it was being on the Bachelorette.
And when it came down to, you know, what I want to do it all over again, I decided it wasn't right
for my health, my happiness, and moving forward to me.
my life. And so, you know, the conversations didn't really have to go much further than,
hey, would you want to do this? And I'm like, no, not really. Ashley is on the line now.
She has questions for you. She was, she loves herself than Peter. You know that. She thinks
you are that catch me out. So she was disappointed when you weren't the bachelor. I think a lot
of people were a little disappointed when you weren't the bachelor. Actually, I know you,
you want to dig into this a little bit with Peter. Go ahead.
Peter, it's not just your happiness. We all know there are rumors of it being a business decision.
you may be not getting enough money.
You got a lot of us in on the real reason that you didn't do the bachelor.
But then there was winter games.
People were like, oh, okay, he's on board for winter games,
and then something fell through.
And it was a mystery, you let down so many people.
Come on, let us in a little bit more.
It was never about money for me.
I've never had a problem financially.
I didn't need the money.
It doesn't pay as much as people think.
so it wasn't a financial decision for me.
It was more, like I was saying, like,
actually, is this going to be the way that I want to find the love of my life
and at this juncture in my life?
It's not.
It wasn't.
And I can't say moving forward, looking at the future,
if it's something that I would necessarily want to pass up.
But right now, it's not.
And then with Winter Games,
and it's actually a conversation I had with producers.
Like, I would love to do this.
And then they just didn't take me.
It wasn't that I said, no, I didn't want to do anything.
They just didn't pick me.
I think that it was because maybe they had a bad taste in their mouth over the whole backdoor deal,
and then they were like, you know, we don't need this drama going into winter game.
I don't know.
I still have a great friendship with a lot of the people that were on the production side of the show,
including Mike's life, Elon, Bennett, the people that I was closest to is Megan and Todd.
We still talk pretty regularly, so I don't think that was the case.
I can't say it would be the case.
And I think they were happy with what my decision was.
And everything one of them said that they support me and my path in life.
And if it wasn't through the Bachelor, they were all happy for me.
You know, everybody comes off The Bachelor and the fans of the show think, you know, you can do it for the money.
You're going to be a millionaire off the past after the show.
That's just not the case.
Trust me.
That is not the case.
So I understand financially why you wouldn't do it.
I will be honest.
As a friend, I was looking forward to you being at Winter Games.
I think you would have had a great time there.
I just have felt that there was more going on than any of us ever knew.
And I mean, I guess if it really was just them not choosing you,
maybe we've got to get a producer on the line because it just seems odd.
Why would they not choose Peter Krause to be on Bachelor winner game
when a lot of these women going into the bachelor's show?
I'd say most of them actually tell me if you think I'm wrong,
probably we're super excited about you being the bachelor's.
I mean, you're good looking, you're smart.
I mean, from what you say, you're financially sound.
You seem like the perfect guy.
I mean, Peter, you're like winning gold.
I figured that if you were on Winter Games,
they would have gotten at least a million more viewers
because people were just desperate to see more of Peter
after the Bachelorette rap.
They've got the franchise's golden boy in Ben, though.
I mean, I watched the show another way that Ben handled themselves
the way that you guys were kind of,
I should say they were showing Ben in many lives.
I'm like, Ben is the next Bachelor.
I'm thinking this is going to happen.
Oh, yeah.
Is that a question?
Is it a question?
I think I'm straight up statement.
Oh, well, you know, I mean, I hope that however they showed me on Bachelor winner games is actually who I am in real life.
So I hope that I never feel like I've done this show, not representative who I am.
Now, if that looks like the next Bachelor, then I guess people can think it looks like the next Bachelor.
I mean, I don't even think they're having those conversations from what Ashley tells us.
me that the crop of guys on this season of The Bachelorette, I mean, there's some great
ones. I wouldn't be surprised if that guy comes from there. But it does lead us to this
question. I mean, I'm a big fan of Paradise. I love watching Paradise. I always have.
I got into it after my season of Bachelor because the women that I cared about went on the show.
Would you do Paradise? Would it be this year? I would not do Paradise probably ever.
Wait, Peter, what?
No, you didn't answer the question. No, you have to be directly.
No, I probably wouldn't do Paradise ever.
I would not do it.
Okay, now, I can't say for the future, but I would say for now,
it's not something I would ever really want to do.
Peter, I'm like, I could talk to you forever about this,
because this season would basically be called Peter in Paradise.
Because these girls that went on Ari's season,
they went on R&A because I thought you were going to be a bachelor.
So it would just be fantastic, keep you seeing all of them fight over you.
I'm sure it would make good TV, but it wouldn't necessarily make for happiness in my life.
I mean, like, I'm really on such a good, happy path right now, and things are so good in my life that I don't need that.
Like, I don't want that attention right now.
The attention I get is already plenty.
The trajectory of my life has changed drastically since I was on the show, and I'm so grateful for everything I have them along with it, but it's not something that emotionally I necessarily want to go through again.
It was a tough time.
there are some dark days
just as opposed to what so many happy days
and now everything is so positive
that I just don't want to risk
affecting that again
and bachelor in paradise
is not on par with that
in my opinion
so Peter
you're saying that one day
in the far future
you may pop up
as the greatest surprise
of every bachelor girl's heart
again
but not right now
probably
you know
You never know.
You never know. We'll call it that.
Is there one woman, Peter, from R.E. season that you would want to be in paradise if
if I can't you were there.
You know I've got to ask that question.
You're expecting.
Good question.
There are some really beautiful girls.
Yeah, there's some really intelligent, 15-K women.
I mean, I've heard a lot about CNN and how great she is and how successful she is.
She seems amazing.
And then Becca herself, obviously.
Yeah, not for me.
She's in sleep, but not for me.
Okay.
I mean, but you're saying Becca, the current Bachelorette.
Yeah, she's great.
She seems like she's got a great head on her shoulders.
Obviously, they want to pick her if not.
She's very sweet, very kind.
She's Midwestern, which, you know, I love a good Midwestern girl.
We love.
Oh, gosh, you're speaking to, you know, I'm an Indiana boy.
You're a Wisconsin kid.
We love people from the Midwest.
I get it.
We relate better.
It makes life just a lot better.
We hang together.
We kind of, we roll in fact.
Any time I would move to a different city or different country, even, I would always seem to find my friends coming from the Midwest.
Yeah, because I don't know what that is safe by.
It's just a lot to relate to.
I get it.
You can kind of tell them out.
If they have a little beer going or whatever, they're probably from the Midwest.
We don't say too clean cut.
Hey, Peter, last question, because I know you're at the airport.
You're getting ready to board a plane.
There's a lot of background noise.
before we let you go, have you spoken to Rachel since the show?
No.
We had our last conversation there on stage, and that was the end of that.
Wow.
Did not go as hoped, I guess.
Yeah, there's really no reason to continue to have conversation at that point.
Yeah, I mean, so the whole, hey, can we still be friends, saying isn't working for you, too.
I'm not
I'm going to say I'm opposed to it
if I were ever to see
her in person I guess
but I'm not going to reach out to her
I highly doubt she's ever going to need to reach out to me
so
um no
life moves on I get it
I get it I mean with Jojo
I mean I haven't talked to her and I think
Jojo's great I mean I
I consider her one of the coolest people I've ever met
but I haven't talked to her since uh
well since we filmed a little show together
for happily ever after and really
because it would just kind of be weird if we did
Yeah, I agree.
Peter, we appreciate you, man.
I know that you're busy.
We wanted to catch you before you're getting enough flight.
Thank you so much for answering the questions.
You're the man.
I hope we see you on our TV screens again soon because, let's be honest,
a lot of people are waiting for another, you know, scene of Peter ripping off in anger, you know.
So, hey, Peter, thanks so much, man.
We'll talk you soon.
Yeah, I hope we'll see you guys again soon, right?
All right.
Bye, Peter.
Thank you.
All right.
I do.
We always love having Peter on the podcast.
I mean, the truth is he's a good guy.
His situation with The Bachelor is a tag confusing to me.
I still don't quite get it.
I think there's a hidden story there that he's not fully telling us.
But if we're all honest with each other, Peter should have been The Bachelor.
I mean, don't take anything away from Arthur.
This is not an anti-R-E conversation.
But Peter should have been The Bachelor.
He had the skill sets.
He has the look to be that guy.
And he has the skin tone.
And you know what's coming after the skin tone.
One of our favorite products that consistently supports this podcast, we believe in this product.

We had a lot of questions for Peter, okay?
We really wanted to dig into who he is, but he has to get on a plane.
It's not like he could pause or anything.
We've been waiting for an interview for years.
I mean, and I thought, honestly, we could dig in there.
And you're getting ready to, and I would have given you more time to do it, but we had to move on to do it.
We have to figure out the true story behind this whole thing.
We do.
That's like, it can't be true.
The whole, like, it's got to be a business decision.
That wasn't just a personal decision.
We, from the inside, know that he did want to do winter games.
I do.
Well, and I wonder.
I honestly wonder this.
And I get it.
Everybody thinks that being a bachelor is a great thing.
And it is.
It has a ton opportunity to do it.
is enhanced in tremendous ways. You get to meet great people. But I wonder if some of these guys
and some of these girls go into it thinking it's going to financially set them up for a long
period of time. And then they find out what the bachelor and bachelor actually kind of makes.
And I don't think the bachelor or bachelor would be upset with me for saying this. They don't
want you to do it for monetary purposes. They don't want you doing this for financial gain.
Part of them not paying a lot is to keep the focus on while you're there. And that's for love.
Now, granted, it's not a small amount of money.
It is enough for you to survive on.
But the true reason to do The Bachelor or The Bachelorette is to find love.
It is not to get rich quick.
Correct.
You know, it's kind of like the presidency.
They don't make that much money.
No, but they make money from elsewhere.
Just like Bachelors and Bacheloretts can do.
That's a great point, Ash.
I've never thought of it that way.
They make money elsewhere.
The presidency, you know, today maybe more than ever,
the presidency and the Bachelor and Bachelorette feel one and the same.
Well, we had a whole bunch of rapid fire questions that you guys love
and we love to do with Peter, but since Peter had to leave early,
Ben and I are just going to play the game ourselves.
That's right.
Okay.
So we got a few questions here.
for anybody listening, you know, this is our off-season, right?
There's no shows airing.
Ashley and I actually kind of like the off-season because we get to talk about what's going on in our lives.
We get to talk to you all about what's going on in your life.
We get to try new little segments out that kind of help us build on this podcast and bring in really cool interviews.
Well, today, and what is this?
Our second, you know, off-season episode, we're going to ask each other some questions, like Ashley just said.
So, Ashley, we got to know first concert.
Shania Twain.
And I had to pee the entire time, like, so badly.
But I was with my best friend, one of her other friends, and her dad.
And I didn't want to have to ask her dad to go to the bathroom with me.
And it was like this huge pavilion.
So I just sat there in just pain for hours and I couldn't enjoy it at all.
What about you?
What was your first concert?
Well, my first concert was Need to Breathe.
Oh.
I love Need to Breathe.
They're great.
Them and Brian Duncan.
Brian Duncan is an old, old Christian artist.
I grew up, obviously, with a family who really loved going to these, like, Christian festivals.
And there's one that used to be in Indiana called Pulse Fest.
So these are kind of like my ways of going to a concert.
A little different, I'd say the most kids.
But I still remember it.
They're amazing experiences.
And I got to share them with my family, which is always a good memory.
Actually, I got to tell you, are you still.
Shania Twain, fam? Yeah.
I love Shania Twain.
I have something super cool happening
right now with Shania Twain.
You do? Just by coincidence?
Just by coincidence. Nothing finalized.
We're in talk. But Shania Twain
runs a really great organization
called Shania Kids. And Shania Kids
is interested in partnering with
Humanehope United and generous coffee
to build a school
in Central America. And so we're
in talks right now to figure out how to make that happen.
to educate some kids who typically would not get education.
So super cool on tonight's part, super random that was your first concert.
Yeah, I just thought that was cool to say.
Okay, second question, do you?
And I think I'll know the answer to this.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
You know, for a hopeless romantic, I wasn't really sold on it.
I, like, believed in lust at first sight and all that.
But I do have to say, back in Paradise 2, season 2,
Oh, no.
When I did see Jared for the first time, it was a whole different experience than any other crush at first sight.
So if I think I believe I love on Versaite, I think I do.
What about you?
Well, no, you can't just, we got to have some follow up here.
Oh, we got to slow down.
Ashley, I got to know, and I don't know if I've ever asked you this, and for anybody listening, you got to be honest with them.
Did you love Jared?
Yes.
Did you love wealth?
No.
No.
Would you say that Jared is your only love that you ever had?
In an authentic way, yes.
I think I've been in love with the thought of someone or two before.
Before I ever met Jared.
I think like that was just like a true love.
I mean, that's kind of the thing.
And I got to protect you a little bit here because I get it a lot.
Is this, you know, oh, who's your co-host?
Ashley Kennedy?
Oh, the girl that is just obsessed with Jared.
Now, don't think that's wrong here.
But I think it looks like that at times when you just get to see a glimpse of it.
But if you really break it down, you love this guy.
Like, this was a true love for you.
This wasn't a TV obsession.
This wasn't a crush.
This was somebody that stole your heart.
Yeah.
I mean, how incredible, again, no wonder this show has such a place for you
and that you continue to invest so much energy into it.
Because I think there's more going on in this show just to you
and how it's formed you as a person,
then anybody truly understands as just a viewer.
For sure.
I mean, do you think Lauren was your second love?
I don't think I ever felt, yes, I would say I fell in love before Lauren.
But I think with Lauren, there was a love and there was a commitment that I had never
tangibly felt before.
Like, I had never looked at any other person and said, this is the person I'm going to spend
my life with.
So I think it was different.
And the commitment side, maybe the first.
feeling of love and the feeling of I am just, I would love, I would love to, and like just
wake up every morning next to this person and see this person and raise children's
person. That, you know, that's a feeling, um, but the commitment and the excitement
beyond the commitment was the first time I'd ever felt that with one. Okay, so I think I
completely agree. I was in like extreme lust, total obsession, like head over heels for
the thought of someone before, two people specifically. And then when I,
I met Jared, I feel like that was my first, like, adult love.
Like, I loved him for his flaws and for, like, all, like, all the things.
And what really annoyed me during, you know, watching that and the second season of it was people being like,
she's not in love.
She's just obsessed.
This is just infatuation.
And actually, Nick said it to me on the season that I was on with Nick.
And he was like, this isn't love.
This is infatuation.
And I was like, you have no right to tell me what I'm feeling.
That is so annoying.
You guys don't know the relationship that is behind closed doors.
100%.
And for all of our listeners out there, I think this is a topic.
This actually, honestly, is one of my favorite parts about the offseason is we get to really dive into people, into the reader's email or the listeners' emails and take callers.
If anybody out there is listening and they say, hey, you know, we've felt this first love before.
We felt that takeover feeling, the feeling that just kind of consumes you.
And you do almost, in a sense, lose yourself.
You know, you kind of feel something you've never felt before.
Please email us your stories.
We'd love to read them.
They'd be uplifting.
Email us your first love stories at Ben and Ashley.
I love that.
I love that.
I mean, I know I would.
I spend a ton of time reading those first love stories.
I think it's just a beautiful depiction of life is that first time you feel love.
Yeah, I know people are going to be like, well, what about Kevin?
With Kevin, I love him as a person, you know?
I really love him as a person.
Another thing that gets such on my nerves is when people are like, that was a showmance.
You know, they just did it for the cameras.
No, it wasn't.
I really liked him.
It was a crush.
I liked him.
We did for three months.
It was not something we did for the cameras.
It was just like over time, you find the incompatibilities.
Well, and if anybody understands the truth that, you know, you're never going to make everybody happy
and that you're going to pursue what you desire and what you like and people are going to criticize you
and people are going to celebrate you no matter what.
It's if you, you know, you've felt this love, your heart's been ripped out before,
you've shared emotion with people, you get it.
And I think that's just a good lesson almost in life is to pursue what you believe is right,
to not let anybody and the critics slow you down, to listen to.
to the feedback. You know, you don't want to continue on a path that is unhealthy or
unwise, but pursue these things. And I think that's what you've done. You pursued love,
and we got to see you fall for somebody on Winter Games. And that's why everybody was so happy
about it. We got to see you happy. And that's what we all want. And that's what I think
we saw with Jared. And then that was ripped out from you on national television.
In all the relationships that you have, lead to the person you're supposed to be with. I
I do feel like each person is a little stone in your life that grows you and develops you into the person that will find the right match.
That makes sense.
That's right.
So it does.
It does.
Actually, I got to ask you then, with all these love connections and the things that have gone on these shows and you now dating outside of the franchise, should a girl ever make the first move?
Mm, good question.
Just depends on the guy who's on the receiving end of it.
Some guys really like to be the pursuer, you know?
It's that fundamental primal thing or it's like they want to go hunt the girl.
And then there's other guys who find it really attractive when a girl makes the first move.
It's gutsy and it shows confidence.
So really depends on what guy you're working with.
What do you think?
Honestly, I'm very torn here.
I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do this.
Now, I do believe that the man is, should be the pursuer.
Now, that first move, I don't, I don't know because, you know,
if somebody catches your eye and you're a female, like, you have, like, go, go tell
that guy, like, you know, we're all human here.
Like, we're all people, but I do think that both parties should pursue each other.
But I think the man needs to be intentional in his pursuit of a woman.
I think it is his responsibility to make sure that that woman feels cared for, appreciated.
attractive and loved on all the time and loved on not just like, hey, fall in love with
their, but they need to feel that you love them, even if it's just as a person.
So I think both can make the first move, but I do think that it's a man's role afterwards
to make sure that he is a support system for the female, but I'm not a female, so I can't
speak for them, but I would like to say, you know, that the woman needs to feel the
same way, that they need to pursue the man, that they need to make sure that man
knows that they care for him. That's what dating is, right? It's a relationship.
There's no, it's a mutual interaction between two people. Right. I feel like in my experience,
it's probably best, I don't want to say play hard to get, but for the girl to just take it
and sit back and relax for the, for the bit, the start of it. I mean, I know people are going to
give me crap for that, but let's be real. Most guys like to come to the girl.
Well, you know, but Ashley, there's a few things I want to ask you about there because through
this podcast, we've got to know each other a lot better. You've been around me a couple times.
You're like, you're really bad at having the guy come to you. No, no, no. I'm not going to,
I'm going to actually say I struggle with that first interaction. I love the post first interaction. I'm
great at that. I mean, I really enjoy the digging into life and the sharing life together.
I love that part. I am really bad at those first few interactions. I get very nervous still
of this day when it comes to if I see somebody around town, if I just see somebody that I'm
into, I'm really bad at approaching them. I actually, you want to hear something crazy?
Yeah. I don't have to think about it. I don't remember one time that I approached a woman for the
first time. I think it's been like in group settings where we've happened to like
bounce off into that. But when I've never approached somebody that I've seen and introduced
myself to, um, randomly, never done it. You know what's funny? I think that guys really are
very nervous about making the first move. And I think it's totally fine for the girl to make the
first move. But after that move, after you've gotten his attention, then it's time to sort of sit
back and see what he does about it. And Ben, I think that you are not,
the minority there. I think most guys would say there is something about today's society that
has made guys even more scared about going up to girls. I feel like what, you know, back in our
parents' day, it would, the girl would barely ever go up to the guy. The guy was totally expected
to make the first move. But now, now I feel like it's 50-50. And it really relieves the guy.
If you guys are making eyes at each other from across the room, if the girl just goes ahead and does
it you guys are you are thankful yeah definitely i mean and it relieves a lot of stress i don't know
what it is though i'd have to think back and maybe next week's episode i could tell you but i i have
this like fear of approaching a woman who i was into and and her looking at me with and laughing
like that is like something that i think about when you said that i like i have a picture in my head
right now of me walking up to somebody saying hey i'm i'm i'm interested or hi my name's ben or whatever
you say in that first interaction, and her turning around and just laughing, and I think that
would crush me.
And I can imagine that's happened to many people out there before.
If you're listening right now, and you've had a really bad first interaction, if you've
ever felt that, like, just emptiness or the frustration or just felt kind of kicked after that
first meeting, emails your story.
I don't want to feel alone here.
I know I'm not the only one.
Actually, I got to ask you something, okay?
Because I remember this a few weeks ago, and I got to be honest, I'm not familiar with it.
I don't typically, like I try to say it's politically correct or try to walk in a lane as possible.
I got a tweet, and I'm sure our listeners can fill in, and they will, and they should, a couple weeks ago, when I said female, and they said that's derogatory, and it's no longer accepted.
Is that true?
Am I missing something?
Because I said it earlier, I said it, and I realized I said it, and I stopped myself, and I thought, okay, somebody has said that's no longer appropriate.
And I never knew that.
And I think that's what I'm learning in life.
Yeah, that I'm learning things that are no longer appropriate that I say,
mostly due to this podcast, which I appreciate because now I'm more politically correct than ever.
I mean, I'm saying, we don't want you to get more politically correct, Ben.
We created a whole segment, Ben, bitches, because you're too politically correct sometimes.
Okay.
I wouldn't think that it's taboo or not.
not politically correct to say females, but I will say it sounds a little bit like animals.
It's like it's more animalistic.
It doesn't sound like they're humans.
It sounds like they're a species.
Interesting.
I mean, I guess, again, if you're listening and you have any insight into this, Ashley and I,
I mean, Ashley and I don't think you're wrong there.
I get what you're saying.
Yeah.
But we don't know.
We're guessing and we're assuming.
Please tweet us, email us, make sure you tag the podcast because if you're going to
criticize this, we'll promote the podcast.
I can't imagine myself saying males, males.
Really?
Males.
And I'd say, the men.
The men.
The menly men.
Two more questions, Ashley.
We're talking about love.
We're talking about life.
We hope you find love one day.
I root for you in that.
I know you root for me doing the same.
Oh my gosh.
When you find love and you look at that guy in the eyes and there's a little twinkle,
and the moment comes where the conversation has to happen about what your future is
entailed. Do you want kids?
Of course I want kids.
I mean, I want
two to three. I have
to have two. What stresses me out
is because my sister and I are so close
that I feel like I need two
of the same sex. So
I'm going to want two boys or two girls,
but the thing is, I definitely need a girl.
So if I were to have two boys, I'm
not, and people are going to be like, oh, my
God, I hate her, I hate her. I literally would think
I need to gender select the third girl.
Really?
Yeah, because, like, I need to be the mom of a girl.
Yeah, I mean, I think, I think I may.
I don't know.
I really just, I can't even imagine myself being,
it would be like all my little daydreams
ever since I was a little kid thinking about having kids.
Like, I need to play with a girl and play dress up and play princesses and barbies
and have a little playhouse and all that.
You asked, I'd be, I mean, quite honestly, I don't see raising boys.
Like, I cannot imagine a,
little boy I can edit like it doesn't quite make sense to me I don't process that well ideally
this is ideal and nobody can choose this I mean technically actually you can choose it but that's not
the way I'm going to do it I would love to have the oldest boy and then two younger girls yeah
protection or why I like the thought of having an older brother I wonder how my life today would
have been if I had an older brother kind of assimilating me into
male life
men
you know what I mean
like I think I would be a lot more comfortable
I think I would have grown up faster
I would have been able to socialize
with them completely differently and I'd like to
have that for my girls and I also love
the fact of a boy
being there in high school in the hallways for protection
of the girls and always looking
out for them
and I think that most guys
want a son and so I'd want to have a son
for my husband and
I think that would be like the perfect little
But if I have two girls, I may just stick with the two girls unless he's dying for a boy, in which we could do vice versa.
My parents, my dad especially, always wanted to be a dad of girls, never wanted a boy.
And they didn't try to have a third kid because they didn't want to risk it being a boy.
Isn't that crazy?
Yeah.
Well, I mean, you come from, yeah, I can, again, I can see the I Kennedy sisters.
I know that I can age sisters.
I cannot imagine a boy.
I can Eddie.
It really doesn't make any sense to me.
My dad, my dad's like, I love being around women.
I have my wife, my two girls, my female dogs.
Oh, you're poor dad.
Well, hey, you know what?
One day you and Jared will have beautiful kids.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my goodness.
Ben, we got to talk about your kid desires.
Okay.
What is it?
Well, first off, I don't know what is it. I'm asking you. I can imagine you with four kids.
No. Okay. So, you know, as most people know, I am an only child. I grew up in Indiana. I don't know what it's like to have siblings. I had a lot of really great friends. And my parents are very close to me as kind of friends. But I don't know what it was like to have siblings. I would like to raise my children with siblings. I think it would be fun. And I enjoy kids. I really love that like two to seven age.
where like they're funny and they're lighthearted and they're exploring life and they're saying
the weirdest things and they're still like children so you can like guide them and direct them
and they're not arguing with you back they just kind of trust you like I'm excited for that stage
of life and I would like to have a bunch of kids all fairly close in age and so at that like when
they're in that two to seven eight age range like we can just have a blast as a family like just
travel and it's funny actually last night this is a little I just turned 29 as you as you know
last night I did my annual financial budget it's quarter one uh you know it's the end of March and so
for me I redo my budget at the first every year and I'm just now starting to save up for kids
and so this was my first budget that I'm putting putting some money away um for the future even though
I don't have one even though I don't know when that will happen I thought you know I'm 29 years old
I need to start becoming responsible and start prepping for the future.
So it's kind of funny that we're talking about this because last night I did add it to the budget.
There was a little bit going away each month for those little tikes whenever they come around.
A little responsible boy.
I love that.
You know, it's funny.
I've been talking about that a lot lately too.
I've been like, you know what?
Sorry, guys.
If I'm bombarding you with another ad, I'm saving for my kids.
Yeah.
That's a great excuse.
Jane candidate and they made booop too fuck.
I'm pretty sure Emmy's college fund is already paid off.
Yeah, I don't blame them.
I'm about to enter that world as well.
She can go to an Ivy League.
Yeah, I hope we don't stop listening to us once that happens
because with generous coffee and Humanian Hope going on,
like I need an income.
So I'm going to start finding these really cool brands that start endorsing
so that my kids can go to college.
And if you want to argue with me on that, you know,
question me later when my kids are educated.
Okay. You know what you also need to do just for your feature and for your kids
so that they have you around for a long time? You got to work out.
I know. Tell me about it.
I'm always stressed out when my dad goes for like a streak of not working out. I love it when
he works out because I'm like, Dad, I need you here as long as possible. And he's obsessed
with this Peloton now, so it makes me happy.
I'm actually, I'll be honest with you. I'm really excited for this new sponsor.
This next sponsor has a really close place in my life. And it really, really,
really does. And if any of you don't know, my story, I'm going to tell it to you very quickly.
There's a lot more to it. In college, my roommates played basketball for Indiana University.
They're really great friends to me, and I appreciate him dearly. I used to play basketball,
and I got really hurt, so I couldn't play anymore. Well, when you're exercising every day like they were,
they're staying in tremendous shape, but they're eating completely unhealthy. I mean, pizza,
you know, they were drinking late at night. They were having pops. They were fast food,
and I was eating along with them because they're my roommates, and I love them in the day.
But I wasn't working out.
So by the time I graduated college, I was honestly overweight.
I was not healthy.
I was sick.
And I got off in college and I said, I need to do something about this, especially after my
breakup.
I thought, if I'm going to find somebody that I want to find, I ain't going to do it
looking the way I look right now.
I got to get healthy.
And the way I did that was with Beach Buddy.
Actually, I mean it.
It's kind of funny that they reached out and they said, hey, we want to support your
podcast because I really did do it with Beach Buddy.
I did it with the insanity workouts.
I lost 55 pounds.
I was 55 pounds heavier coming out of college.
Now I'm not, I lost.
Ben, that is like, it's insane.
You lost 55 pounds.
It's absolutely wild.
I can show you pictures at some point.
You'll laugh at just how different I look.
But I get it and I mean it and I didn't feel good.

Before we jump in to Bachelor emails, I want to talk about health and wait for just one more
second.
It's just totally random.
Becca and I actually talk about this all the time.
We are at this very lucky stage where, I guess,
are, what's that called?
My metabolism is super good.
And I basically eat whatever I want.
People are like, what's your secret?
I'm like, you guys, I have no secrets.
I don't know.
I definitely eat too much and I eat too much crap.
But it doesn't really affect me.
Like, if I eat all this crap, I look like this.
And I look fun.
Pretty good.
If I'm really healthy, then I can be like seven pounds lighter.
but then like my life is just not as much fun you know like I'm not hanging out with friends as much
I'm not enjoying food as much one day it's gonna catch up with me it's gonna catch up with Becca
and then I'm gonna have to make this huge lifestyle change and it's just sucks but people keep saying
like you're gonna start seeing it when you're 30 so you know I had that magical age turn a couple
weeks ago. So am I going to start seeing it any day now? Like all the sudden, the corn muffin that I'm
munching on during this is just going to go straight to my stomach. And like another thing is, I know
that when I eat dinner, holy crap, when I have dinner, like something really fried or really, honestly,
anything, like that's on a salad. My stomach gets gigantic. We call it my alien. And then my alien's
there. And then I go to bed. And then I wake up, my stomach's super flat again. But then one day I'm
going to wake up and I'm going to have a huge
gut. What do I do about this, Ben?
Well, I mean, you do
beach body, first off.
Second off, I mean, I think it's true.
I mean, it is the process of life.
Nobody can define
age. Age happens. Time is
one thing that is uncontrollable.
We have to keep healthy.
We have to start healthy habits.
I mean, we have to do it. We have to be intentional
about how we live life. We can't
flow through this thing. As kids, I think that's the beauty of being
a kid is you can be a little irresponsible.
Well, you can make huge mistakes.
You can eat what you want and do what you want.
And you get tons of time just to hang out with friends.
As we get older, we have to prepare for the future generation.
You have to be the best person possible for your kids.
You have to be the best person possible for your husband, for your partner in life, whatever that is.
You have to start making those choices now so that you can be that person later.
And so, Ashley, I'm going to tell you, I mean, I think you look amazing.
You are absolutely beautiful.
But we have to start getting healthy.
Ben, do you eat healthy?
I eat super healthy.
You can ask me.
Do you really?
Yeah, I do.
I don't eat fried food.
I limit my bread intake.
I eat a ton of vegetables, a ton of fruit.
I do.
I eat pretty healthy.
How much prep do you put into it?
None.
I just throw some things together.
I mean, that's the beauty of it.
I throw some things together, eat super healthy.
And for anybody out there listening, I mean, I think we can all relate on this, right?
We all know it, especially in today's, like, in today's, like, in today's
world. We have so much access, the knowledge and data on food intake and kind of what we're
eating and how it's affecting us. Now we have a whole, you know, group of people who are still
who have gluten allergies. And we never knew that until, you know, recently. This is
something that we need to stay on top of. And so, Ash, I'm sorry, enjoy that corn lesson today,
but tomorrow might not be happening. Actually, I got to ask you something here. Something super
interesting to me. You know, yesterday was April Fool's Day. The big day, people throwing
random stuff out there. Everybody's making jokes. People are acting like they're leaving football
teams and, you know, people acting like they break up. Whatever. A lot of jokes being played,
a lot of laughs being had. I didn't throw one out there for the first time in a while just because
honestly I forgot to think about it. Our poor guy Ari can't win one. I mean, I don't know. Oh my God.
I feel like this is a podcast where I'm going to get a whole bunch of
trouble.
You guys.
But our guy Ari, okay?
We don't hate Ari.
Let me be clear.
I don't hate Ari.
I think he made some really big mistakes in The Bachelor.
I don't think that he was the best bachelor we've ever had.
His season obviously wasn't the most watchable season we've ever had.
But he found love.
And so if that's what we want out of this, great.
But the guy, obviously, and we all know this, nobody can deny this.
He wasn't the most love bachelor.
People gave him a lot of crap.
They weren't the biggest fans of him for a whole different list of reasons.
I don't know at this point if he's just given up and he just said, you know, I'm just going to go and be disliked.
But yesterday, if you haven't seen on Twitter, Ari and Lauren posted a picture where it looks like Ari's hands around Lauren's stomach.
And it makes it look like they have an announcement that they're having a baby.
Well, people obviously react because some people can't get pregnant.
They're not fertile and they want to have a baby and they can't.
So they took offense to it.
Others were saying, oh, you shouldn't take offense.
It's a joke.
It's April fools.
Whatever.
But, I mean, the majority of people were not a fan of his joke, his joke at all.
A lot of people were very upset.
Ashley, I want to hear your thoughts on this.
And my fault of question, that is, has Ari just given up?
So, yeah, like I'm saying, I feel like I'm getting in a lot of trouble for things I say today.
But I think people really, really overreacted about that.
I mean, you guys, we can't be, we can't take everything, like, everything can't disturb people and make them sad.
Like, we have to be able to, like, brush some things off as jokes these days.
That's like saying that, yes, of course, there's so many people who can get pregnant.
It's like the saddest thing ever.
But that's like saying that people who are pregnant can't walk around and show their baby bump because it may make them sad.
Hmm.
So you're just saying that we're way too sensitive
And I think a lot of people would agree with that.
I think so.
I think so with this people was way too sensitive.
If that's going to make somebody who is having fertility issues really sad,
there's a lot of other things that are going to make them really sad too.
I don't know.
I think we'll totally overreact it.
I think that if it was another bachelor, people wouldn't have caused such or not poor.
Hmm. I mean, Ashley, you're completely entitled to your opinion, and I think your opinion is probably similar to a lot of people. I mean, I think it's split 50-50. You either think people have reacted or you think, no, they didn't, and this picture should have been posted. You're not alone in this. You're obviously going to get people that disagree with you. That's fine. That's life. But we have to be able to share opinions. If we don't share opinions on this podcast, what else do we got? I mean, you know, we're talking about things in reality television. If reality television isn't controversial in itself, like, I don't know what it is. And so,
I, you know, I kind of say more in the middle.
I get that it was just an awkward joke.
And in a sense, maybe that's how I say it.
I understand that we were way too sensitive.
I don't think we need to be that sensitive.
I don't think they were doing anything too intentional.
You know, we always have to think about the intention behind it.
Yeah.
And the intention behind it was not to offend a large group of people.
That was not his intention.
But I will say that the joke was awkward.
Can I say that?
Like, just weird?
It's totally awkward.
And just for a couple that is still.
so touchy that people still have
such issues with that is probably
not the smartest.
They could have come up with so
many other things. That was almost
cliche of them.
I completely agree.
I wonder the world, like, what is their
thought process right now when it comes to life?
I mean, I wouldn't blame them
if I saw an article
written that said, oh, you know, another mistake
from the most hated bachelor couple
in the history of bachelor. Now, I don't want to claim they are
that. I don't know that. I don't have data. That's not
scientific. That's just an opinion of some of a journal. But I wonder at this point, because they
felt so much just heat and hate and anger from the show, if they've just kind of given up and
they're just like, you know what, I don't care if people like this or not. We're just going to
keep doing our thing. And I just wonder where they're at right now in life. I mean, they have
to feel a little isolated from the popular bachelor family. Okay.
We're about to get a caller in.
We got a beautiful email last week from a girl who was very moved by Ben.
But right now we're going to talk about movement watches.
That was really bad.
That was a really bad stretch.
I liked it.
That was really good.
Spring is right around the corner.
Movement is dropping all new sunglasses to get you ready for warmer weather.
There's a big selection.
If you're looking for something for your spring break, your summer vacation,
Coachella.
the beach. They have all the go-to shades for it. I love a good pool shade that's going to
totally cover my tired hungover eyes on vacation. Movement does a great job at making those
types of styles. The guys at Movement, they don't just make great watches. They also make
awesome sunglasses. Here's my problem with sunglasses. I got all these cheap pairs that look
terrible, but every time I spend $200 for a pair, I feel like I got ripped off. I feel like I lose
them. I can't spend that much money on sunglasses because, yes, I do lose a ton. Well, our friends at
Movement were like, yeah, we're the watch guys, but also, how about we become the sunglasses
guys, too. Their sunglasses aren't just plastic. They're acetate. You can get them polarized,
and they start at just $70. They're seriously my new go-to shade. They feel great. They look super
stylish. I've had people come up to me and ask what kind of sunglasses I'm wearing. They think that
it's one of the really expensive brands, but I'm like, no, they're movement, they're really
sleek, they're matte black, they're a little bit retro. I feel like, I honestly feel like a
movie star in them. They're high quality. There's no too plastic here. You can get them a whole
ton of different styles, like classic, trendy round. The round ones are like so in these days.
that for girls and guys, you're definitely bound to find a perfect pair for you.
So if you want 15% off today with free shipping and free returns, go to Movement.
That is mvMT.com slash Almost Famous.
You know that they've basically revolutionized the watch industry,
and now it's time for you to check out their sunglasses.
Go to MovementMVMT.com slash Almost Famous.
And be like Ben and be like me.
Join the movement and look like a.
a movie star in your new sunglasses.
Actually, that was incredible.
I don't know if anybody wants to be like me,
but I do know somebody that we all have to be like,
and that's our next caller.
And I want to take a little second
and segue into our next caller
and give a little background to this.
So for those of you who don't know,
I work with an organization called Humanian Hope United
very closely.
In order to help support the funding of this nonprofit,
we started a company called Generous International.
We sell all sorts of things, but we're best known for coffee because that's what we do best.
And so we sell coffee online at generous movement.com, and our profits are then donated to these nonprofits and causes that are trying to do some type of sustainable good in the world.
Well, with all that being said, this was something that a couple of my friends and I started, and now it's not even, I mean, it's never been about us.
It's really been about what we feel like our purpose is being called to.
And that really comes from our faith and just our belief system that, you know,
God does desire everybody to have hope, to be loved on, and to have opportunities.
So that's where generous came from.
Well, we got an email from somebody named Hannah, and Hannah obviously has a huge heart.
She's a huge heart for service.
She sent us one of the coolest emails I've ever seen.
And Ashley, if you don't mind for a second, would you mind just reading through this email?
before we speak with Anna.
Yes.
Hi, Ben and Ashley, and of course, Amy.
Amy is not in studio today, as you guys can probably tell.
While I love all of you equally, my email is specifically for Ben.
I really want to get in touch with Ben about how to help out with generous coffee.
Back in June, I was forced to quit my job because of health issues I've been dealing with
for years that have started to make it physically impossible for me to go to work.
Despite my fears of not being able to support myself,
I made it work and I decided to stay in this beautiful place, and it turned out that I've been
dealing with all of my health issues and leaving my job. It was actually something wonderful.
Ben, you understand that life is all about giving back, being selfless and supporting and loving
others as much as you can, and for that I truly look up to you. I light up and listen a little
more closely whenever you talk about generous coffee on the podcast. Your selflessness has really
got me thinking about my own life and your generosity is one of the reasons that I decided
that I wanted to donate money that I make from my Etsy to charity. I want to you know that
you helped inspire me for this idea. My goal is to personally raise $1,000 for good causes in
2018, which will require about 400 card sales. My business is called I'm Bringing Crafty
back. We can post, we'll post the, the, the URL on one of our
Twitters. I'm also posting all of my cards to
Instagram and that is at hannah.t, you, R-G-E-O-N, or
at I'm bringing Crafty back if you want to check them out there. So now Ben
is going to get a chance to talk to Hannah on the line.
Hannah, you out there? I'm here. Hi.
Hi.
Hey, Hannah.
Thank you for joining us on the Almost Famous podcast.
Of course.
I'm so excited.
Freaking out.
Don't freak out.
We got a lot to talk about here.
Anna, we received this email, and I want to personally just start by seeing that Ashton, I, we're
incredibly moved by your generosity.
We think it is absolutely incredible that a small little business like here is that
you be willing to support people all over the world.
And thank you for wanting to do that through doing.
It means a lot to me personally.
At generous, we really do believe that everyone deserves an opportunity.
And your partnership with us can make that happen.
And so, Hannah, thank you.
Of course. I'm so excited.
And I've got to ask you here, we just read the email.
What moved you?
Like, what is your dreams for this campaign that you're starting here?
Um, so, um, first of all, I, um, um,
I just think it's so admirable that you've used your platform from The Bachelor to do something great with that.
And I just kind of realized that I wanted to use my Etsy to do something bigger and make it into something more special and meaningful.
And I just realized that there's so many other people in the world that need the money more than I do.
So there's really an easy decision once I thought of it.
And I just wanted to find a way to try to make a difference even if it.
a small line.
And just kind of leave the world a better place.
Go that line from you, Ben.
And I just, like you were saying,
I just feel like life is about loving others as much as you can
and lifting other people up as much as you can.
And that's what I'm trying to do.
And it's not going to be like a huge difference
because I don't make that much of a profit.
But what I do make, I want to give to generous for the next,
Jenny's coffee for the next four months.
That's amazing, Hannah.
So you left your job, and now you've created this Etsy, where you make really cute.
I'm looking at your cards right now.
They're very crafty.
They're super adorable.
They're like donut-themed, wine-themed, coffee-themed, and all of this money you're going
to donate, all the money you make in these cards are about $5 each is going to go to
generous.
Yes.
Well, so right now I spend about 50% on materials, and then I'm taking a different charity each month to donate the other 50% to.
Or not necessarily a charity, but it's some good cause.
I know generous coffee is a business, but yeah, so whatever is left over after materials is going to go to generous coffee.
Well, we can definitely figure out a great way for you to get some free coffee delivered to you for your, for your,
for your donation. And I want to tell you, I know you feel like this is just a small amount.
And I get that feeling, right? When we first started up in October of last year, we were trying
to donate to these causes. And we're writing very small checks because we're new. And it just feels
like, okay, is this impact actually ever going to be seen? You know, is $1, $7, $10, you know,
what impact can that make? And I want to tell you that to supply a day's worth of work for somebody
in Central America right now, it's specifically in Honduras, it's $7.50, and that is almost a
200% increase than what the average is in some of the community that we work with. So, I mean, even
$7 make a huge impact. And it doesn't really matter the amount, and I have to stick to this
in life. And for anybody out there listening, this is something that keeps me encouraged
as we move forward. And I don't care what your face system is. You can believe a thousand
different things. But my face is, I am a Christian, and that's come from a place where I do read the Bible.
And there's a story in the Bible about a widow. And a widow donate a few cents to a really
great cost. And other people are donating hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And the response from the person receiving the gift, which was Jesus in time, says, truly I tell you,
this widow has put more into the treasury than all.
others. They gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything, and she
had to live on. So I'm telling you, Hannah, no matter what it is, you're giving out of a place
that is beautiful, and we appreciate you, and I promise you that lives will be enhanced and
an opportunity will give in, and hope will fill themselves based on your gifts. So thank you,
and I want to support this in any way I can. So for all listeners out there, we want to remind
you. Hannah, where can they go to purchase one of your cards today?
All righty. So, if you just search, I'm bringing crafty back on Etsy. You can find me directly,
but I also post all my cards on Instagram if you want to follow me there and just kind of keep up
and see if there are any cards that you like, and that's at I'm Bringing Crafty Back.
They are so adorable.
Thank you.
And what you're doing is amazing. And the next time I'm,
I need a thank you or a birthday card.
I know where I'm going.
Awesome.
I'll take custom orders.
So if there's something on there that you don't,
if you don't see something on there that you want,
then feel free to reach out.
All right.
Thanks, Hannah.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, guys.
This is so amazing.
I'm really glad I got to talk to you both.
Hey, I'm glad you were born.
Thanks for coming on.
You too, Ben.
Bye.
Thanks.
Bye.
Ashley, I'm telling you right now, the people that exist in this world today, for all of our issues, for all the things that separate us, for all the unpopular opinions that make people criticize us, I'm telling you right now, I'm going to prophesy that the people that live on earth today.
Not just this generation, but the people living are going to completely change the world for good.
I feel it. I know it. It's people like Hannah who are going out of their way to say, I'm powerful.
I'm tired of the status quo.
I'm tired of people suffering.
I'm tired of people not having clean water.
I'm tired of people not having food.
I'm tired of people getting sick.
I'm tired of people having parasites.
I'm tired of people not having healthcare.
They're saying this is not an option anymore.
We're going to take a stand and we're going to make a different.
And hey, if that can be through generous, this is not about me.
It's not about my buddy.
Generous is now with over 1,300 people involved.
This is a movement.
This is a group of people just saying we want to help wherever we can.
If it's a generous, great.
If it's not what you're just awesome as well.
Let's just join together instead of criticizing or instead of bringing us down, let's bring us up.
Let's bring us up by helping others.

Ben, you have just been, you know,
you're just so wonderful.
You're so wonderful.
You're so charitable and thoughtful and warm.
but everybody loves it when you bitch everybody loves it with Ben bitches so we're going to do Ben's
bitches our new favorite segment in a little bit but before that we're going to take a couple
we're going to take one more email this is from Megan I am so happy to be talking to you through
email my best friend and I are both big listeners and we discuss your podcast weekly
this week we've been talking about my dating dilemma and I decided that I needed to go to the
authority you guys but really been for answers i met this guy a little over three weeks ago we've
gone on four dates now with the last one being an elaborate all weekend date where he planned
an all out whole weekend for us he was so thoughtful attentive and likes me more than any guy has
in a long time mentally we click and we have some chemistry oh we have some chemistry mentally we
click and we have some chemistry interesting but it's not bombastic chemistry on my end i would say it's
about 65% chemistry with him on my side i've never done this before and it's always been an all or
nothing thing for me however i know that they say that chemistry can grow and i wonder if i should
give it a few more dates to see how the chemistry really blossoms for me or if i should just cut it off
now i would love your advice and for reference i am 30 and he is 27
Thank you.
I like this email.
I like this email.
You like this email?
The email gets you excited, Ashley?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
I mean, I know you're all about chemistry.
If you're excited about it, let's just go.
Ashley, just take that away here.
Give her some advice.
Let me make it happen.
Okay.
So for me, chemistry can only get better.
It's all there initially, but for me, I can get really nervous.
So sometimes I do need to form a friendship first.
or I need to just spend a little bit extra time with him before he can see the real me.
But I definitely think if you've been on, you've been with him for about three weeks.
I think at this point, you're probably at the, you're at the decision point.
So if you're only feeling 65% chemistry at this point, I'm going to say, give it one more date to really
make sure that you feel secure
and making the breakup decision
because if you're just feeling
mad right now, I don't think it's going to get
much better after this.
I mean, I think there's a difference
between friends
becoming lovers
and, you know, your relationship
evolving over time. But I think
even with those people who started out as friends
and it evolved into more, they had
a sort of, they had a chemistry
in the beginning.
It sounds like you're not mentally...
You say that you have a...
You say you go, you go, we have...
Mentally you click and we have some chemistry?
I don't know.
I feel like you need to be pretty sparky at this point.
If you are not feeling it,
if you're not feeling sparks right now,
I don't think you're ever going to feel sparks.
I don't even know what mentally we click means, honestly.
Like, is that like...
emotionally does that mean like no that means mentally like through like what do you
call that at ESP what is what do you call it when you like can connect yes yes that's when you're
reading each other's minds okay well I don't do what I know actually from my I can
really only speak from experience and from my friends experiences that I've been
able to see I have never been around a couple who has dated for let's say more than a
few weeks, and they were questioning the chemistry, or if one of them was questioned the
chemistry, and that they ended up being together long term. I've never seen that drastic of a
switch. If you're like, I just not that into him, I'm not really feeling it. I've spent
some quality time with the guy. You know, he's great. He treats me so well. It's not like he's
doing anything like wrong. It just, I'm not feeling it. I have never heard, and nothing
it can't happen. I would just say percentages is it's going to not work out.
Okay, so you guys, I feel like over the past couple months, I've been kind of keeping to myself a lot of my experiences because it does affect so many people out there because they're part of the conversation as well.
But I'll let you in a little bit here.
I remember when I visited Kevin in Canada for the first and only time, actually, I had known him for a month at that point.
And I met my sister at the airport because we were going to go down, we were going on a vacation right.
right from the Toronto airport.
And she's like, how do you feel?
And I'm like, I like him.
I like him.
But it's been four weeks.
And I don't feel at all like I'm falling in love.
Should I feel like I'm falling in love at this point?
Or at least like that I can see a future.
And I was like, and I don't know.
I think I should feel like falling, but I'm not.
And I think that that was the point when I knew it wasn't going to be a long-term thing.
Well, Ash, I also don't think you need to put the pressure on yourself.
to get to a certain spot at a certain time.
But don't you think that after a month
you should be like I'm feeling head over heels
not just like I like him, I have a crush?
Yeah, I mean, I do.
I think the truth is if we're to summarize Megan's question
right there is this.
Megan, I would say to be concerned.
I'm not saying it right now.
I'm not saying this is a lost cause,
but it would be a major concern for me
if you feel this lack of chemistry with this guy
after that much time and after that much time together.
I think if we're all very honest,
and this is one of the hardest things to do in life
is the breakup and the split and saying goodbye to somebody.
It just excruciating.
It's like not even a breakup for them.
They've only been together for three weeks.
And I think it's easier if you're not feeling it
to just break it off now, especially if you're 30.
Like why continue to prolong it?
Yeah.
I just know that the percentages are probably not on your side.
And that Ashley and I both agree,
at some point this will end and it just matters when you aren't going to be getting married
Megan to this guy at least I wouldn't assume so but if you were Ashley yeah tell her what
you could do oh my gosh she could do Zola Zola is the wedding company that will do anything for love

about our listeners, our engaged listeners out there.
I get it.
Hey, and speaking of that, I do want to close this whole Megan email.
We're just saying, Megan, keep pursuing data.
I know this is probably a frustrating situation.
I know you probably feel like you're doing something wrong and you can't necessarily
point to what he's doing wrong.
That's a terrible, that limbo and that lack of clarity stage in life.
It's such a hard stage to live in.
But you're not alone in it.
We're all going through.
We've all gone through it.
Just know that whatever you're feeling right now in your dating world,
somebody else has felt that way before.
You're not crazy.
You're not doing anything wrong.
You're not a bad person.
Breakups are terrible.
They're hard.
But they need to happen sometimes.
best thing for both parties. I got to add a little something in there. Hey, Megan, I know that at this age
at 30, you're like, oh, I found a guy who treats me nice and we get along well. Like, maybe I should
just keep pushing through this and see what happens. But you should never be in a relationship where
you're like, I should just push through this and like, because he's good to me. And like, it's a nice,
like, very well-balanced, lovely relationship. But I don't feel any magic. You should always
feel magic as Kerry as Carrie Bradshaw says never settle for less than uh magic right she said
never settle for anything less don't ask me I have I have no idea you're you're on your own here
never settle for anything I got to Google this than butterflies yes never settle for anything less
than butterflies Megan that's all you have to keep reminding yourself up all right it's time for
your favorite segment my favorite segment it's new it's called
Bitches. Ben, what do you get a bitch about today?
It's absolutely unbelievable this topic to me.
I don't understand how this continues to happen time after time after time.
I'm going to call this little segment for me, stand in line and wait your turn.
So I fly a lot.
I fly all the time.
And my biggest pet peeve on these planes is that I'm sitting in my seat patiently waiting.
Nobody's comfortable.
This is a plane for trying out loud.
It's literally a plane.
Nobody wants to be there.
We're all going to have to get off at some point.
At most, the difference from the first person getting off the plane to the last person
getting off the plane is 10 minutes.
But for some reason, every time there's the person behind me that feels like it is
their right to walk in the aisle and stand there at my seat as I try to get off.
There's an order here.
There's an order in life.
lines were created for order.
So if there is an order, there's a set way to process through a line,
especially on a plane where there's no place to go.
I can't even butt in front of you because you're already standing there.
Wait until the person in front of you leaves their seat, stands in the aisle,
grabs their bag, walks forward until you take those steps to that location.
It's the same thing in life.
Let's look at this in a bigger picture.
Okay, we all've got a role to play.
We've all got a purpose to be had.
We're all pursuing something, okay?
But there's going to be those times that you have to stand in line
because you don't know what that line is going to bring.
That line might mean you wait a few extra months to pursue that opportunity
because it's just right and it fits you well.
Being in a hurry doesn't exactly progress you forward.
It just makes you rush through the moments that we may never remember or may never have.
Take time to invest in your relationship.
stand in that line, look around you, take a deep breath.
And when it comes to a plane and you're sitting next to me,
wait your turn.
Ben, are you a minister?
Ben, bitches, is now becoming a ministry
because he's got a message to his bitching.
Oh, my goodness.
Hey, Ben.
I do find that airports are the place in the world
where people are their most oblivious.
They really have no idea who,
in front of them or behind them at that point it's the time is all in their own head they're not
realizing that like there's somebody struggling behind them or that somebody has i don't know maybe
i'm contradicting you but what if somebody has a connecting flights to catch and they do have to be
like i got to go i got to go then what when you ask nicely say hey i'm in a hurry do you mind
if I take your place in this line, so it's understood that you are taking the place in my line
and I'm able to tell you, communicate with you, yes, that is okay, or maybe it is not okay
because maybe I have a connecting flight as well, and I just might be a little more patient.
Ashley, you're right.
Airports are a crazy place.
I cannot imagine four years ago or three years ago.
If I would have seen, saw Ashley Ikenetti walking in airport, I would have flipped out.
I would have recognized that.
Ashley, it is a pleasure talking to you every week.
I'm not kidding here.
I want to close this podcast by saying to all of our listeners out there, thank you for listening.
Make sure you email us at Ben and Ashley at iHeartMedia.com.
This is season five, episode two of the almost famous podcast.
Ashley, we've done five years of this podcast.
Congratulations to you.
Congratulations to you.
Hey, thank you so much.
We're going to continue to have a lot of fun with it.
I got to get out of here, though, because Ashley, my dad and I are heading
to the master's.
I'm so jealous.
I couldn't do it for my dad,
but I got lots of people saying
that next year
they can hook my dad up with tickets.
So this year,
it's your year,
next year it's ours,
and I am so happy for you and your dad.
It's going to be such an amazing father daughter,
father daughter,
father daughter,
oh my God.
Sorry, I'm just used to saying father daughter.
Whoops.
I mean, is there anything more special you can do with your dad?
No, this is a memory.
that will last me a lifetime.
I cannot wait to see a smile on my dad's face
and I'll have a smile on mine
as we walked the course from Look First on TV
and also make sure you tune in next week.
