Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh, my God, perfect.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth?
Starting point is 00:01:17 Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you. Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do we really need another podcast with a condescending finance brof trying to tell us how to spend our own money? No thank you. Instead, check out Brown Ambition. Each week, I, your host, Mandy Money, gives you real talk, real advice with a heavy dose of I-feel uses.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Like on Fridays, when I take your questions for the BAQA. Whether you're trying to invest for your future, navigate a toxic. workplace. I got you. Listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with Iheart Radio. Hey, guys, welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. This is part two of our interview with Sean McLaughlin, in which we're going to try to get him to spill some deeds on the rest of the cast. Here we go. Um, is there anybody that you just feel like is on the brink of having a, being the next drama? Anything you can preview for us?
Starting point is 00:02:34 Ooh. Um, anyone that's on the brink of being the next drama. I mean, Braden, like it or not, the guy makes, makes really good television. So, uh, he might, I think he's always on the cost of causing some stuff, just because that's Braden. But, uh, we'll have to see, have to see how it turns out. But it's paradise. There's always going to be drama. Are you, uh, are you happy you went to paradise? I mean, right now we see your story kind of building up to be one of just confusion, chaos, sadness, like some drama. But now that you look back on it, are you happy you went? Yeah, I'm really happy I went to Paradise.
Starting point is 00:03:11 I mean, I met some great friends. I already had these connections built with the guys from charity season and then meeting some other people from past seasons. The girls were great. I had a really good time. I think up into this episode where like we see like the, you know, argument with Rachel and the brain stuff. Like, I thought Paradise was giving people a little bit more into my personality and, like, who I am.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I got a chance to, like, narrate the story, which was pretty cool. But, like, it sucks watching it back sometimes. Like, it definitely does, especially with this where I don't think, like, like, I don't think I said what Brayden was saying. I said, so, like, when it gets viewed that way, it's a little tough. But overall, I mean, I, both times I've had amazing experiences. You meet some really cool people, and I'm happy I went. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Question about the, um, the truth. box and Aaron S's reaction toward it. Was that the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen? Well, Aaron, Aaron S is, he's one of a kind, but he's, I love him. He's awesome. He's very direct. He's going to tell you exactly how he feels. And I think at that moment, Sam had left.
Starting point is 00:04:17 He's got no connection on this beach. And he's just like, I'm probably going home. So let me burn down this beach. It was just like, threw the box down and just read all the notes. So I was loving it. there was like a little bit of drama off me at that point. I'm like, I could get him. I don't want to keep running into interviews and doing stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:04:35 That was our guess as well. Yeah. Do you think Wells, you were there? Do you think Wells was actually mad? Like he looked on television like he was going to, like he was fuming and he was holding everything in. Yeah, I think Wells was, I think Wells was probably mad at the moment. But I think watching it back, it makes me like good television.
Starting point is 00:04:55 We probably loved it. But yeah, it was like, His thing, he is like saying he fashioned it out of Driftwood. Like it was his truth box. It was his thing. He wanted to do it. And then Air Ness comes in and just blows it up, I guess. So I think it was so bad.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Wells has told us that you guys complain that his drinks aren't strong enough. Is that the general consensus? So the only thing that I put in that truth box was Wells needs to stop pouring half shots of tequila. I needed that night, I needed like a full bottle of tequila. Like I was just running out like crazy. I was stressed out. So I was, like, messing around. But I think his drinks are good.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Just depends on what you're looking for in the moment. Sometimes they're great for you. And sometimes you're like, right, man, like, let's go. Like, fill this up to the brim. I need it. I need a little bit. There's been a rumor, though. And I don't know if it's happened yet.
Starting point is 00:05:44 But somebody on the beach, there was a girl, said that Wells's drinks were too strong. Do you know who that would have been? Was it Olivia that was saying that? Yeah. Is that sound right? Yes, it is. Okay. So Olivia thinks they're too strong and you're saying they're not strong enough.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Yeah. So, Ben, when you weren't here, when you weren't here and Wells was here, he said that Olivia, that he messed with Olivia because he put like just a splash and then like, and she'd still complain. And then once he gave her just straight like tonic water or lime water or something, no alcohol in it. And she was like, dude, this is way too strong. And then he goes, I got the camera on me while making the drink.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Roll back the footage. I didn't put anything in this, you crazy woman. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like I just lean more into the, hey, it's not strong enough camp. Because on the beach, it just feels like they need to be stronger. Well, you know, they keep tally over there.
Starting point is 00:06:49 They do keep tallies, but I think it would be better. If they were a little bit stronger, you might see some more stuff like Aaron S. smash in the truth box. Well, you know, it's just like you sweat it out immediately there. I never, I barely, there are very few times that I ever felt anything there because it's just like, it just spritz right out of your pores. Uh, just, my last question for you is Olivia. Like, give us a description about Olivia knowing her in person because she's a little
Starting point is 00:07:13 scary to me, but she's also very entertaining. Yeah. I think she's, she's super entertaining. Um, I don't think I like, like, I didn't get Olivia at first because like the first time we had, we had the interaction was when she's mad at Will for going on a date. And in my mind, I'm like, we just, I've been here for like an hour. Like, like, chill, he's going to go on a date. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:07:32 And her reaction I thought was like a little intense for that moment. But she's cool. She like doesn't take herself too seriously at all. Like she can laugh and have a good time. So I've been really enjoying watching her interviews because she's definitely animated. But I wouldn't want to be on her bad side. Like I'm good staying away from her bad side because she might kill me. Same.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah. same i i thought she's hilarious because all i've got to see is her interviews and i think she is one of the best commentators we've ever had on paradise you know uh the last question about paradise before we get into now what your life looks like is uh we kind of got got left on a cliffhanger we see the legs of somebody walking down the beach um we see the rest of you know you guys who aren't with somebody kind of get excited about this um can you give us a tease for what we can expect next next episode and um and then we'll get into your life now yeah uh next episode it's gonna be it's gonna be fun uh at that moment in paradise i was pretty
Starting point is 00:08:36 defeated like there was no no hope i i was going home so to have someone come down to the beach just a new person um yeah it's gonna be i think you're gonna see a lot of the guys that were thought they were going home now have a have a lifeline so we'll have to see how to turns out. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious. Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
Starting point is 00:09:14 He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor, and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hi, my name is Enya Yumanzoor. And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:10:02 But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercom is the podcast for you. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear,
Starting point is 00:10:21 this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just, I can do my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, no such thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise, lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
Starting point is 00:11:02 And then, as we try the whole thing out for real, wait, what? Oh, that's the run right. I'm looking at this thing. Listen to no such thing on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hola, it's Honey German, and my podcast, Grasasas Come Again, is back. and we're going even deeper into the world of music and entertainment with raw and honest conversations with some of your favorite Latin artists and celebrities.
Starting point is 00:11:29 You didn't have to audition? No, I didn't audition. I haven't auditioned in like over 25 years. Oh, wow. That's a real G-talk right there. Oh, yeah. We've got some of the biggest actors, musicians, content creators, and culture shifters sharing their real stories of failure and success.
Starting point is 00:11:45 You were destined to be a start. We talked all about what's. It's viral and trending with a little bit of chisement, a lot of laughs, and those amazing vivras you've come to expect. And, of course, we'll explore deeper topics dealing with identity, struggles, and all the issues affecting our Latin community. You feel like you get a little whitewash because you have to do the code switching? I won't say whitewash because at the end of the day, you know, I'm me. But the whole pretending and code, you know, it takes a toll on you. Listen to the new season of Grasas Has Come Again as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:12:21 well how many hours left in the evening when she came down because it feels like it's getting late and the rose ceremonies you know pretty soon yeah um i don't think there was a lot of time left i think it truly was like i was praying to the paradise gods i was like somebody any literally anybody just come down and toss me a lifeline and so we got we got a little bit of of hope going into the road center where there's not much time left yeah so there was a little bit in you of hey i want to get another rose like there was a little bit of the oh no this isn't looking good now and i would like to be around next week to try to pursue somebody i actually like yeah and like you're having a lot of fun like the night before sucked obviously but like i didn't want to leave
Starting point is 00:13:13 like i wanted to be there like if that if that person that comes down is she can be my person i don't know, but maybe someone else comes down and they're my person. So, you know, this type of stuff can happen in Paradise. It's been a lot of great couples that have came out of this show. So I didn't want to leave yet. I wanted to have some fun. And thankfully, we got someone coming down that might toss me
Starting point is 00:13:32 a lifeline. We'll see. I'm really torn on whether you're going to stick around or not. Do you want me to stick around? Most people, like, get this guy off the fucking show. No, no, no, no. You're great TV. I would imagine that, like, you'd be the one to save. I think
Starting point is 00:13:48 Will's probably going to be out of this, and Aaron S is going to be out of this. And let's see, who else is on the shopping block? What's his name? Peter, pilot Peter. He might be on the shopping block. Hmm. Yeah, of course we want to save you.
Starting point is 00:14:01 We know you now. Yeah. We'll save, Sean. Sean, you mentioned before we started recording, they're currently in Nashville, Tennessee for a work conference, and the guys kind of got together. First question about that is, what guys came to join you then in Nashville?
Starting point is 00:14:18 Yeah. So we had a really good group. Warwick lives here. So Warwick was here, John B, John Henry, Caleb, the wrestler, Zay, and James. So we had a, we had a good crew. We had some fun on Broadway. You went to Broadway. Oh, so you guys were trying to be seen and see because you don't go to Nashville. Yeah. You go to Nashville and go to Broadway now. I've never been. I've never been to Nashville ever. And a lot of the guys on the trip had never been to Nashville. so I think we had to go and experience. Yeah, that was the first time being here. So we had to go have some fun. I love country music, love live music. So it was a good time.
Starting point is 00:14:56 We know that you love Taylor very much. I love Taylor, which by the way, I don't know who I pissed off in the Kairon department. Because, like, I actually am a Taylor Swift fan. And any chance they got to just like. Say fake me. Yeah, they're like not a Taylor Swift fan, not a Swifty. Doesn't smell good. Doesn't look like a Ken doll.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Like all these things. Okay, this is hilarious. But so we bring up Broadway and National because, like, I don't know that there's one center in any of America more than that street that the Bachelor fan girls roam wild. How was it? Yeah, it was fun.
Starting point is 00:15:36 I think it's really crazy because they're in that group that we had. Like, if I said John Henry to the average person that watched The Bachelorette, they'd be like, who's that? Yeah. He's a really good looking dude. He's fun to be around. So you had guys like that and James who didn't necessarily like have as much of a story. And then you had obviously like some other guys here like John B and Zay and myself.
Starting point is 00:15:59 So like we had a huge group where everyone noticed Zay, Zay 6, 6, and then we're all together. So most of the time it was an interaction where we would be walking down the street and someone would come up and just like, oh my God, you were on the Bachelorette and then you're surrounded by six guys that were also on the show. So it was fun. Yeah, we had a good time. I bet it was. But the whole point of this is you were there for a work conference.
Starting point is 00:16:23 And I think there's a line on Paradise where you talk about that you left your job to go to Paradise, but now you're saying you're back employed. So can we celebrate the fact that you do have a job and how long did it take you to find one after Paradise? Okay, yeah. I had a job lined up before I left to go to Paradise. So a funny story with the whole situation. When I went on The Bachelorette, the company was supportive to a degree of me going on the show initially.
Starting point is 00:16:52 I think they thought I was going to get sent home like night one or like day two. So I didn't get any phone calls at all the entire time. They take your phone. But I got one phone call when I was in New Orleans, like about to, we're down to the final sixth. And I guess from my work, they're like, hey, if you don't show up to work on Monday, you're fired. And I was like, I got to see this thing through. And I got sent home like right after that. So I showed up to work on Monday and we're all good.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Oh, you did? Yeah, we showed to work on Monday. We were good. And then they were so happy to have me back, went to Oahu for a president's club trip, everything's good. And then I kind of went to him again. I'm like, so round two, Paradise maybe? And they're like, no, we can't do it.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Like, you're going to be here or there. And then ended up leaving and finding a job, fortunately, like almost immediately afterwards. So I had something lined up before I went. Okay. Okay. Okay. So you did leave a job. to go on Paradise, but the fear of you being unemployed when you got home was not there.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Yeah, I'm in sales and I've built like fortunately a pretty good network within this community where like I knew there was opportunities for me to find something if I was going to leave that one job. And I actually, an old coworker had reached out to me who were like best friends now. And she's like, we need you to come and sell for us. So it was, it wasn't a huge fear I knew. there's going to be something else out there for me. Yeah. Well, that's good. Good for you.
Starting point is 00:18:18 I'm happy to hear that. That brings peace to my life. I can sleep tonight because I know. It is honestly quite stressful when you hear that people lose their job. I just bought a house too. Before the bachelor, I got the keys to my house the day before I went to L.A., so I just bought a house, like, have a mortgage. So, like, there was a moment where I'm like, oh, God, like, am I going to not have a job
Starting point is 00:18:38 and not be able to pay my mortgage? I just bought this freaking house. So now, everything's good now. Okay, great. All right. Well, we're now rooting for you to, you know, complete the adult dream, if you so choose to have that and find love next after getting the house and a good job. So we'll continue to see what unfolds for you in paradise. Really do hope that you stick through this row ceremony. Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. Me too. I'm looking for it. Looking for some love. Just the only part of my life that's really missing out right now. Oh, well, spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Well, no, like in the show right now, there's no. You mean present day on the show, present day on the show. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, well, bye, Sean. Thank you. Yeah, I appreciate it, guys. Thank you so much for having me. See, yeah, bye. Bye.
Starting point is 00:19:22 So, Sean McLaughlin coming on to talk about his drama during Paradise. And yeah, he's entering into some drama. Maybe some of the most drama we've seen so far in Paradise happened during this episode. And Sean seemed to be a part of a lot of it. Stay tuned to our breakdown of the Bachelor in Paradise episode this week, where we talk about the Sean's there. Does he go? At this point, I really have no.
Starting point is 00:19:43 clue. I am hinting just based on his face, kind of his energy that whoever that was that walked out of the beach finds some interest in Sean and the two of them are together. My vote is that he stays. That's my guess too. Actually, you're in the same camp? Uh-huh. Okay. Yeah. All right. All right. Well, hey, uh, tune in. Again, we have a big week full of breakdowns. We've got the Golden Bachelor. We've got Paradise and we've got headlines coming your way. We're working hard. We're staying active. This is the
