All right, everybody, we're back on Kind of Famous
breaking down the final three episodes
of our new favorite dating show, Love Overboard.
This has been such a,
funny, hilarious, and dramatic journey on this show. And finally, we get to see who wins, Heather.
Just before we get into it all, were you surprised by who won this show? Well, I was, and I'm not
going to give it away because we're at the top of our episode here, but I was because I had a
couple pegged to win. So I would say that I was a little bit at a loss and some grief at the end of
this episode because who I had pegged to win, didn't win, and they're the cutest,
cutest, cutest, cutest, cutest.
I got the winner spoiled to me by a title of an article three days ago, so I already knew
what was going to happen.
Okay, you mentioned it in our last episode, and I saw it.
I purposely did not open up my social media yesterday.
Thank you for the warning, but I saw it after I finished the three episodes.
It's hard just in how fast the internet moves with these shows and especially
with something like this where they dumped all the episodes. It's similar. It's like, you know,
when I'm watching Secret Lives and Mormon Wives on Hulu, and they drop nine episodes, that's my
weekend. I sit there and I will watch all nine in 48 hours, you know? So I kind of enjoyed this,
like watching a couple every night and stopping myself. But it is really hard to avoid the spoilers
on the internet for sure. You know what? I did do myself just the tiniest service and
read some of the comments on that article. And you were not alone. The majority, 98% of them were like,
really, bro, like, could you just wait a little bit? Like, you ruined the entire thing for us.
And under a week is kind of mean, spirited people. Like, there's a way to release articles
similar to what we do here on the pod. We say, spoiler alert, you can use a static image that is not
of the people on the cast or just the logo of the show.
Like, it's a purposeful thing when they do something like that.
I agree.
Let's jump right in because you guys, as we started this episode,
we were chatting a little bit.
And I do believe it was a stretch to bring out the end of the show in three episodes.
I could have done with one, two is a stretch for me.
But I think they could have wrapped it up a little bit quicker.
So let's jump right into episode seven, Heather.
this episode opens with the cast going to their beach party.
And shockingly, they're being greeted by the exes that were sent overboard.
David is so anxious from jump that Lowe might be there as well.
I mean, we see him just so sweaty and he is talking about how sweaty he is.
He is just crippled with anxiety, rightfully so,
given everything he has done and put her through and himself and vow to, like the whole triangle.
I was clinging to every word.
And we kind of get in some sort of passing moment, we get kind of an idea of how much time has
actually elapsed between this decision and where they're at now. And it's been about two
weeks, Val says, that they've been spending time together. So yeah, it's been two weeks of no
low. So it feels very fast when you're watching the episodes all back together. Like, oh,
she just left like a day ago. But it's actually been a little bit more time. So you know what
is interesting to me from a reality TV standpoint. Like when I was on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette,
the contestants get sent home. Like they might keep them in a hotel for a couple of days, but they
don't stay through the longevity of filming. And it became clear to me and tell me if I've got it wrong.
But maybe because it's the first season, they were kind of unsure the concept or what they were going to do.
But it was clear to me that the cast off stayed. They must have stayed the entire time during filming.
I think that was planned.
So they don't know ahead of time who is going home or who's being eliminated when.
But when you do a casting like this, I think the assumption was always to have that survivor style ending where the final couple is chosen by the castaways.
And so in order to do that, you just, when you're in the midst of casting, you say you will be gone for six.
four weeks, six weeks. And when you get eliminated, you just go back to the hotel. A lot of people that you'll talk to that have been on shows like that will say, some of my best moments were just when I got eliminated and I go back to the hotel. People usually like love that because they're sick of the cameras being in their face. On this situation, too, if you've been living in the downside, you're probably like, great. Now I get to go back and like live in a normal hotel and like, you know, you don't get free rain.
That's a misconception.
Just because you're not filming the show doesn't mean you just get to go.
Vacation.
Yeah, you're not traipsing around Malta on your own.
You will have a handler with you and you're probably still not having access to your phone.
Yeah, I do remember that part.
For the most part, I was confined to a hotel room and I had a babysitter, my handler.
You know what I mean?
That took me to and from.
Anyway, I found that very interesting.
All right.
So we are then shown like Gabby comes out.
She was very much a part of these final three episodes where I feel like in the beginning,
we only saw her kind of like she came in for the plank ceremonies and certain things,
but we got a lot of Gabby in these last three episodes.
Gabby comes out, the exiles can tempt their way back onto the yacht by breaking up one
of the other couples or connecting with someone who's single.
And if two exiles connect, they will be able to come back on board together.
everyone starts to mingle and fill in the exiles on what's been happening on the yacht.
We immediately see Reese.
He's interested in Sophia.
And I don't know.
These were kind of like for me, Heather, they were bits that I just didn't really need.
Tim starts to overthink and have anxiety about the relationship with Gia because Bo is there and he's in the mix.
Prasad desperately tries to make connections with someone.
He doesn't care who's in a couple.
Sophia's goal is to tell Andrew she doesn't like him and go for Reese.
Christine spills that she and Jake had sex.
There is so much in this short period of time that like it were back to the chaos for me,
what felt like chaos in the first episode.
There were just so many bits that I don't think as a viewer I needed.
I think it would have been funnier just to see them kind of mingling and just kind of catching
each other up on the drama.
I don't know if we needed this whole element of like,
try to break up a couple. That's probably not going to happen at this point. Like,
everybody's pretty firm in their ways and we're like a second away from the finale. So I don't
think that's going to happen. And like two exiles coupling up and getting back on,
I mean, it happens, but it's kind of unnecessary. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. None of this
mattered. I cared about just a couple of things. Once I heard Sophia speak, I wanted to see her talk to
Andrew because I just feel like some things needed to be brought to his attention. And then
And the only other thing that I was holding on to was seeing David and Lowe. Those are the only two things that I really cared about in all of this situation. But first we get Sophia and Andrew. And this makes me so happy. She's so cute. I don't remember seeing a lot about her in the beginning. Like her role in the show was very minimal. But she says none of the girls like Andrew. She calls him egotistical, which Heather, we've been discussing this since episode one about how it's just not there for him. He is so blinded.
by his own persona that he can't see anything else.
So there's a part of me that was like screaming watching that episode.
I'm like, I can't wait for Heather to see this because were you just like,
amen, sister?
Thank you.
Someone finally said it.
I mean,
I think egotistical is kind of like mean.
I think that like Andrew is just for lack of a better term, dense.
Yeah.
I think he just like kind of just sees what's in front of him and not like a big like
peripheral viewer.
And so I don't think that he's egotistical to me is like somebody who walks around and is like,
I'm the hottest guy here and I can act like an asshole because everybody's obsessed with me.
That's what I.
Well, to be fair, though, you don't think that in the first episode that he was quite getting that edit?
I think that like everybody on this ship knows that they're very hot.
And that's why they were on this show.
And they were probably like, it's a competition.
I got to like flex and I'm around a bunch of dudes.
Like I give him a little bit of a pass on that.
I just think that like this whole conversation with Sophia felt super forced to me.
And I felt like she was playing it up for the cameras quite honestly.
I don't think she had any intention on like ever speaking to him again and like didn't really want to clear the air.
And like I just think it kind of made her look even worse.
I agree.
I agree.
because she left on a high note, you know what I mean?
She at least like let him believe whatever and then jumped off into C.
So I also, I'm with you.
I really didn't need this bit of her calling him out, telling me Zegotistical repulsed by him.
I just didn't need any of it.
It felt kind of gross.
What I did need was Lowe.
That's what I needed.
Lowe enters and the girls are excited to see her.
No one jumps up but her girls.
They all run over.
They're so happy.
They greet her with hugs.
and they immediately give Lowe the info.
They tell her that Val gave David a blowjob on their date.
Like they fill her in immediately.
Lowe starts to direct her anger at Val.
And so we go back.
I'm just like when I was watching these episodes,
I'm thinking about all the things that we talked about.
And I was, I don't know, when you and I spoke about it before,
it didn't bother me at first,
but it really bothered me in this episode how she attacked Val.
But how on the money were we? We literally said, like, don't slut shame the woman. Like, your anger is misdirected. And then all of our words were literally being said right back to her. They were like, wow, you really shouldn't slut shame her. Wow, you're like anger is misdirected. I was like, we didn't watch ahead, guys. I swear we did not. We've been watching it as it's quite now. Nope, we watched it as everybody else. But I was happy to see the other girls stick up for her because I think there was that moment where everyone was pretty angry when Lowe got sent home.
and truly in all of this, I'm with you. I believe that the responsibility lands on David's shoulders
and what he did and the way he handled this. But in that moment, it just made me think, like,
this is what we do. A lot of women do this. We immediately think it's the other woman's fault.
We skip the blame on the real person who needs to take responsibility here. And Lowe did that.
She showed us every bit of that. She literally called her Lowe.
class to her face and embarrassed her really. Why do we do that, do you think? He had every opportunity
to walk over and diffuse the situation. He did. He let it continue. He's like a little puppet master
in that sense of like creates the chaos, walks away, watches the women, you know, doing their
thing. So I, I just think as these episodes continue to play out, I think. I think,
think that David had multiple opportunities to set the record straight, take accountability,
you know, take control of conversations. And time and time again, as we watched, he just continued
to dig a deeper hole for himself, gaslight, not take accountability. And from what I see,
not really grow from this experience. It also, like, at what point did he not think that he could
go over and stand up for Val? You know what I mean? What point? Why didn't he? Why didn't he
do that? Why didn't he defend her? Why didn't he stop the situation? Because it wasn't Val's fault.
It was not. It goes back to what I think from the last episode that he doesn't actually like her.
I don't think that he's actually that invested in it. I think that he liked what happened between them.
I don't think he actually likes her. And it goes back to what Tim said, which is he made his bed and now he has to lie in it.
So I think he just was like, oh, I just like blew up the boat and like made the,
this crazy decision, everybody hates me already.
I guess I'm going to stick with this girl now because of it.
And like, I think if he had it his way,
he would have like kept a wandering eye or whatever.
Have his cake and eat it too, per se, right?
Well, we get the chat, Lowe and David.
We get the chat.
Loe pretends like she does not know what happened between David and Val.
She's waiting for David to tell her the truth.
And poor girl,
she's going to be waiting for a while. David says he wishes that he had time with Lowe to tell her
about his concerns, about their relationship, and then he goes into things like Lowe being jealous
that he didn't like. You know, for me, this is more gaslighting. This is more gaslighting,
Heather. This is anybody listening. This is the definition of gaslighting. I mean, this guy,
starting out by saying, I wish we had time. Oh, bro, what were you doing? Yeah. For
however many days before Val ever showed up, all you were doing. And we see him, Heather,
talking to the other guys about how the sexual chemistry wasn't there. He never had an orgasm the
many times they had sex. We see him telling other people. He just did not take the time to tell
Lowe. Like, he didn't care about her that much. No accountability from this guy, David. I really
hope that watching this experience back is like holding up a crazy mirror to you.
as to how you're moving through life because,
woof, this is, this was not good to watch.
And she keeps poking him.
She keeps poking him.
You're not telling me everything.
I know you're not telling me everything.
Tell me more.
And he's like, you know, going on this dance of like,
oh, I really don't know if I should like betray Val's privacy and tell low.
Or I should just like give her most of the truth.
Bro, you already told cry as soon as it happened.
Like what went down?
You told Tim what happened.
when it went down. Everybody on the boat knows what went down, but now you're like, oh, I want to
respect Val's privacy. Again, this is, these are, this is lying. You're not interested in
respecting Val's privacy. You don't want to take accountability. You don't want to talk about the
details. And for anybody that is wondering, when you evade telling the full truth, that is still
lying. Yeah. That's still lying in a way. So he's not doing anybody favors and Lowe ends up just like,
you know, leaving this conversation because David chooses to not tell her the details of what he
ended up doing with her in the shower. Yeah. Yeah. See your way out, girl. All right. We see Reese and
Sophia. They choose to couple up, so they're back on the yacht. I don't know, Heather. I didn't need this.
it felt neither here nor there for me.
It felt like a piece of the show that just I could have done without,
but here we are.
David and Val connect after the dramatic day.
He says that he thinks he and Val have more of a chance
at a long-term relationship than he and Lowe did.
I still don't see him taking responsibility in this moment either for Val.
He doesn't even acknowledge or apologize for the fact that he could have stood up for her in this moment,
that he could have protected her, really.
And he just didn't.
It's all about David.
We see that.
It's fine.
We're moving on to the next day.
And we see more of Reese and Sophia.
We see them grilling each other about past relationships.
You know, this feels lost for me, Heather.
You know, I don't know.
They go on to be on the plane.
It feels like they did something with them that we didn't see.
Like they had to be quizzed in order to get back on the boat.
I don't know.
It just felt very rushed.
Yeah.
Yeah.
we see spin the bottle.
I love how reality shows, like, if there's enough chaos, they need to create more chaos.
And this is what happened.
Gabby tells them that they're going to go upstairs to play spin the bottle.
But when they spin the bottle, the person they land on and the person who spun the bottle
have to answer a question.
I've never played spin the bottle this way before in life.
Oh, I played it when I was really young, Heather.
And when it landed on me and I had to kiss a boy, I chickened out.
I was like, absolutely not.
As soon as he stuck his tongue out,
I was like, that is not going in my mouth.
I don't know what kind of kissing you people do, but not me.
But this was like truth or dare, but spinning a bottle.
But like, it was like, it's not spin the bottle.
And we're also at a point where these people are in relationships
and they're locked in.
It just felt really weird because during the game,
James makes a comment about girl-on-girl action.
Lexi doesn't love it.
Come on.
James is 26.
He jumped on the boat saying how horny.
he was. Like, I expect nothing less from this cutie pie. And listen, I love James. You know I do.
I expect nothing less for him. And so for Lexi to be upset, I kind of was like, girl, come on now.
Give him a free pass. He's so far up her ass. He has no room for anyone else. It is what it is.
Tim reenacts a position on Lila and pulls her hair and Gia doesn't like this. I kind of was like, okay.
but also when Gia got so upset, it just, I don't know, Heather.
It was just bits that I just didn't need.
This was very Love Island-esque, this whole situation.
They do this a lot on Love Island where they're constantly, you know,
people eventually couple up on the show.
And then they'll do challenges where they all have to like kiss each other after.
And sometimes people will be like, oh, I'm in a relationship now, like, kiss me on the cheek.
And some of them will just still, like, go for it.
And their partner will be like, that, like, is disrespectful.
Like, we're in a relationship now.
And, like, then these kinds of conversations and bickering happen.
So this felt like Love Island adjacent to me by doing this game or whatever,
where we didn't really learn anything about anyone.
Yeah, I would have liked to have seen at this point in the show where people are like in their final couples.
Since we are supposed to be crowning the winner as the strongest couple, I would have liked to have seen a quiz element where it's very newlywed games like where you ask these people the questions off camera and then their partner has to reveal the answer that best matches what their partner would have said.
those kinds of games always one show who is strong but also the ones that have cracks in their foundation
that usually is a very divisive game that makes people upset when they get things wrong and we never
had that and maybe that maybe production felt that was like a low-hanging fruit kind of game because
it is played on a lot of these kinds of shows but I think that's what was kind of missing
especially towards the end for me
was the who knows their partner
the best kind of element
which I need in a dating show I think.
Yeah. Yeah, totally.
We see some drama come from this
in the happy hour Gia confronts Tim
about her feelings over the game
and asks him to be more mature.
Tim apologizes.
I didn't love this in the bottle
but I love this moment between Tim and Gia
because we see a lot of maturity
And we've said this in previous episodes about how Tim very much admitted that he was a boy when he came on the show.
And we see a lot of, this is what I hope to see for David, but I'm not getting that.
So I'll take it from Tim.
We see a lot of growth and maturity from Tim.
We see him, you know, face Gia and be really open to it and confront her and acknowledge and apologize.
And then we separately see him in his little interview, Heather.
tearing up and sharing like he never wants to hurt this woman. I just was, I have, this is so stupid.
I have cold chills right now. Like that's what I want to see. This is what we all hope for.
This is redemption in itself. This is a man growing up and taking responsibility for his actions and
becoming a man. He genuinely cares about this woman. And I think it was all in fun that he did this,
but he is not trying to go out of his way and hurt this woman. And he handled a situation
properly how we want to see it.
Yeah, I really liked how he handled this as well.
And I thought that for Gia, who's like 23,
what an effective communicator.
We've, you know, had some people asking about their communication skills to others.
And I was like, this girl is very poised.
She's not being mean-spirited when she is telling him about her hurt feelings.
and he is listening and receiving and they are having an effective communicated problem and solution
coming out of this. So I thought it was really cute. And then obviously we see Lexi and James
their conversation doesn't go as smooth the first go around, but James quickly rebounds and comes back.
I love them. I love them, Heather. They are little cutie patooties.
cuty-p-tooties.
I just want to, like, hold them and take them to lunch
and tell them just how cute they are.
I love them.
I love them.
I love them.
I love them.
All right.
We see Keith and Delaney kiss, finally.
I don't know about the two of them.
We're going to see more, but, you know,
it feels very forced for me, Heather.
It's fine.
We're going to get to the two of them.
He also straddles her.
He does.
I saw that.
I don't know.
I wasn't going to bring it up because I thought that I was the only one.
I was like, something's wrong with me.
Clearly, Heather, something is wrong with me.
But in that moment when we are seeing that and he straddles her,
I immediately thought, I immediately thought in my own head, I'm like,
why is he straddling her?
This feels very feminine for me.
She was like asking him, like, what do you think about me or something?
He's like, does this show you what I think about you?
And I was just like,
We have to remember that he's 23.
He seems so mature because of his career and he doesn't drink,
so we don't see a lot of stupidity from him.
But in certain moments where we expect emotional maturity, it's not there.
He's 23.
You make a good point.
I actually completely forgot how old he is.
Yeah, yeah.
It's fine.
Jake and Christine, these two, I am so, they have great physical chemistry.
but Christine wants to see more there.
And all I'm getting is their physical chemistry.
Like the two of them were like ready to get it on like the second they laid ice on each other.
So you know what?
They're having fun.
We'll let them have fun.
All right.
The next day, Gabby announces the next challenge that it's for couples.
Everyone has 20 minutes to couple up.
We end up with Andrew and Anna.
They're still together.
That deep friend connection.
Chaudet and Bradley couple up, friend connection.
And then all of the other couples.
they remain the same, Heather, untouched.
I want to know if you have noticed at this point,
we haven't seen our one lonely guy.
We talked about it in our last episode, Heather,
how he has just fallen to the wayside.
At this point, even with this warning from Gabby
that they have 20 minutes to couple up,
he's nowhere to be found.
Yeah, my guess is,
because he also doesn't look extremely happy
when he is on camera.
So my guess is that he, this is a guess, is that he was not happy when he got on board being, whether it was that he was a latecomer or that like the girls weren't his type or whatever, whatever.
But I think he was just not down to play ball like an Anna or an Andrew who wasn't making a romantic connection.
And I think that he probably seemed grumpy.
and they were probably like, we got other people that we can focus on and we're just not going to talk to you or ask you to come into the interview chair at all because he also doesn't seem to have a sense of humor about the experience. And that's kind of just, again, when you go on these shows, it is unlikely that you're going to find long lasting love. What it is more likely is that you're going to make friends and that you're going to have a good time and that you're going to do crazy experiences.
But if you come in thinking that you're going to go to Poundown or something every single night,
everybody's really hot and then that's not happening because you're sleeping in a twin bunk bed down there.
They're sorely disappointed.
You're going to be upset.
So especially people to, for a lot of these shows, as probably is very obvious,
a lot of these people we go after for other shows.
So they have kind of like sometimes the pick of like what show they want to go on because they've been approached by so many.
So if this guy has been like holding out to go on a dating show and he finally agrees to go on one and then this is his experience is that he doesn't like think anybody's hot or he doesn't have a connection, then yeah, he's probably bummed.
Yeah, well, well, we saw that.
Yeah.
It's fine. Gabby says that they have nine couples, but there is only room for five of the couples on the top side.
At this time, there is no more downside, which like everyone seems really thrilled about all the copyses.
will vote on who gets to stay, the four couples with the least amount of votes will be going
overboard. Listen, at this point, I am ready to clean house. I'm ready to clean ship. Let's send a few
overboard. Let's really dial it in. So I'm here for it.
So this is a podcast about video games. Kind of. It's also about friendship. Definitely. And chaos.
Unavoidably. Welcome to It's Dangerous to Go Alone. A podcast where we talk games, culture,
and nostalgia, and immediately go off topic. There is no gatekeeping. There is no skill check.
If you win a game on easy mode, we support you.
If you've never touched a controller, honestly, same energy for some of us.
It's fun, it's chaotic, it's friendship with a loose gaming theme.
And somehow we keep getting away with it.
You should listen.

Anyone can now be an entrepreneur.
Anyone can build an app.
And it's very empowering.
Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future, and we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you.
What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion, they're actually dating the companies that create this.
We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history.
And let's be honest, that can be messy.
There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment.

You know, Roaldol, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG.
But did you know he was also a spy?
Was this before he wrote his stories?
It must have been.
Our new podcast series,
The Secret World of Roll Doll,
is a wild journey
through the hidden chapters
of his extraordinary, controversial life.
His job was literally to seduce the wives
of powerful Americans.
What?
And he was really good at it.
You probably won't believe it either.
Okay, I don't think that's true.
I'm telling you.
I was a spy.
Did you know Doll got cozy with the Roosevelt's?
Played poker with Harry Truman
and had a long affair with a congresswoman.
And then he took his talents to Hollywood,
where he worked alongside Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock
before writing a hit James Bond film.
How did this secret agent wind up as the most successful children's author ever?
And what darkness from his covert past
seeped into the stories we read as kids.
The true story is stranger than anything he ever wrote.

Why hasn't a woman formerly participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?
Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age?
What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
And how did a 2023 event called Wagageddon change the paddock forever?
That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on No Grip,
a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport.
In each episode, a different guest and I will go deeper into the wacky mishap, scandals, and sagas,
both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.

Let's run on over to episode eight.
The episode opens with the couple's court
where the cast members have to plead
as to why they should stay on the yacht
before they cast their votes.
Four couples will be going overboard today.
We could rush this a little bit, Heather.
There was a lot of nonsense here that I just didn't need.
At the couples court, Rees thinks he and Sophia
have a target on their backs because they came in late.
Reese, you do, son.
You do.
Exactly. I don't think anybody really cared for Reese and Sophia anyway, but it just at this point,
so many of those people have deep connections and deep friendships that like Reese and Sophia just
didn't stand a chance. That's just the way it is. Shadei uses her chance to speak up to say that
she's leaving the yacht because she didn't meet her person. I have nothing but respect for someone
who can just see their way out. We saw Bella do it. Now we see Shade like, please, send me, I don't
need to. I'll just jump in. It's fine.
Lexi says that she and James have been together the longest so they deserve to stay.
I'm here for it. Lexi, I'm with you, girl. Delaney tells everyone that she and Keith kissed for the first time last night.
Hurrah, right? Christine gets emotional saying how good Jake makes her feel. Heather.
I don't see it, but okay. I don't see it either, but like, I'm here for love, you know?
Yeah. Let's, let's, yeah. Anna says that she and Andrew have a strong relationship.
and the others point out that they are just friends.
So listen, I give Anna the Emmy here for her speech.
Yeah.
For her role, for how solid she plays this part.
But the others are right.
They actually have like a true connection.
They are dating.
And why would we keep Anna and Andrew?
They're just friends.
They're here for vacation for the summer.
It doesn't make any sense.
Exactly.
Anna, babe, you didn't have a chance with this one.
And it's funny because she tries to like poke holes in like everybody else's relationship and say why their friendship is so strong.
And it's like, okay, you're having fun.
Like, stop.
This is this is not real.
But it's David when he says that he and Val have gone through the biggest real world struggles, which means they can make it on the outside.
And then David calls out Kari and says he doesn't see Kari and Lila working out.
and that they look fake, and he tells Karai he deserves better.
I don't understand this.
I'm like, for those listening, I am so uncomfortable right now, I'm starting to sweat.
I don't understand this ploy.
Like, is David, are we just seeing him unravel?
Like, what is happening?
Why is he starting to pick apart?
And obviously, we can't see everything that goes on on the yacht, but he doesn't like
Lila.
She's the one that has had the biggest mouth about him.
he just literally knows that Kari is like not going to be like an alpha male with him.
So he's like, yeah, Lila, you suck is essentially because she's, and we get all the flashbacks
of Lila being like, David, you're a dick.
David, you just sent your girlfriend overboard.
What's wrong with you?
And Lila's like 21 years old.
You know what I mean?
And like David's what, 30?
So yeah, yeah, he got talked down to by a woman.
much younger than him and he didn't like that and here he is trying to like stand on his soapbox
because that was mean to be like Karai you deserve better. It's like bro, you actually should
just be silent. You should like be saying anything right now. And again, this is where I go back
to David just through these last few episodes continues to dig himself into a deeper hole
instead of turning the boat around and like changing his ways, this is real David.
This is what I think David really is in this moment.
Spiteful says things like out of anger is what I feel like in probably situations
and evades telling the truth when given the opportunity.
Yeah, I believe that there have been more than one opportunity for redemption.
story for David. There has been more than one opportunity for redemption. And we hear it just,
it just doesn't happen. It doesn't happen, Heather. Everyone votes the five couples, everyone votes for
the five couples that they want to stay on board. And then there's a plank ceremony. I loved Gabby's
look in this. This is the one where she was wearing was like off the shoulder and it was all sparkles.
And then she had her hair tied back in a really tight bun. I was just like, Gabby has the most,
milky, beautiful skin.
And then just in the sparkles, I was like, she's so pretty.
I just think that God is so pretty.
I had the same thoughts as you.
We must be cut from the same cloth because when she was standing there,
I thought this is the best that she has looked the entire show.
This is the most gorgeously stunning look for her.
I was right there with you and I had the same thoughts possible.
Well, we get this plank ceremony started and Bradley because Chade has already left
has nobody. So that means Bradley's got to walk the plank and he just gladly just walks it.
Like there's nothing else to do. And then each couple has to walk the plank and either they go
overboard or they find out if they're going to the top side. So first is Tim and Gia,
topside. Reese and Sophia overboard. Duh. Shocker. Lexi and James topside. Love him.
And Keefe, top side. I think of
So everybody was kind of a little surprised by that one.
Anna and Andrew overboard.
Christine and Jake, topside.
Mm-hmm.
Interesting choice there.
Yeah, this is where it got really interesting.
Karai and Lila overboard.
Now, it was, we only had Karai, Lila, David, and Val left.
And so the second that they called Lila and Karai down and David and Val were left to watch,
I knew that Lila and Karai were going overboard because you would never, because we knew it had to be one of them.
We would never have one couple stay.
You wouldn't have the second to last one stay and then be like, okay, that means you have to walk down now and go overboard.
Like it would have spoiled that.
So if you're just paying attention to those kinds of things, you would know how it's going to play out.
So Karai and Lila overboard, which means David and Val are top side, which everybody is extremely shocked by this in the top side when they are assuming that Lila and Kari are going to come.
And they see Val and David turn the corner.
So that is a little bit of another twist that David has nine lives somehow in this.
I expected nothing less.
If they sent David and Val home, I might have stopped watching the show.
because at this point, I'm living for it.
You know what I mean?
I'm so happy for my friends, Tim and Gia and Lexi and James.
I'm so happy for my friends.
But like I am living for what's going to happen between David, Val, and Lowe, the whole saga.
I'm not done with it.
I need more.
Well, and we're clearly not done because then Gabby says that she has a treat for the top five couples
and that they're going to go off the boat for a full day exploring Malta.
And then a chance to explore.
the relationships because they're going to spend individual one-on-one overnight dates on land.
And this is when we get to see Keith and Delaney go on a little romantic boat rider.
What should have been romantic, but they immediately start talking about marital roles.
And Keith is looking for a traditional marriage with a woman that raises his children.
Delaney is a working model.
Did you hear him, my skin caroled when I heard him say to take care of his children.
That rubbed me the wrong way on so many levels.
He is literally looking at a woman who is a model, who is a working model.
I just, the generational roles that he laid out right then and there for everyone to hear and see,
I was rubbed the wrong way, Heather.
For me, you know, I will stand by that being a mom is the hardest job that you'll ever do,
even though I'm not a mother.
But it's the job, right, that doesn't have set hours.
It's never anything.
And you have to do it when you're sick, when you got a full schedule, whatever you have.
I think that being a mom is the hardest job ever.
And I think that stay-at-home moms, you know, are hardworking individuals.
and women that are moms that are working and raising their children are hardworking individuals.
So I don't think that there's anything wrong in aspiring to have traditional roles in your household if that is what you want.
What I don't like is when he said things like when you're with me, you represent.
those kinds of things started to rub me the wrong way because because it implies that being a model is a poor representation of him.
And a woman traveling or going to working events alone without him is not a positive representation of him.
That's how it was coming out because if he said more than that, we didn't get to see it, unfortunately.
So that's kind of all we have to go on.
I appreciate him in the sense that he has a strong vision of what he wants for himself and his life.
My only thing that I would say to Keefe is that having morals and values in common with your partner is extremely important.
Yeah.
But having a narrow view of what your future can look like, I think can be a problem.
how you make your future with your partner can be individualistic to you.
And I think that this is where his young age really kind of shows through,
because if you haven't been exposed a lot to women that have, you know,
huge careers but are still present mothers or women that have jobs where they travel a lot
that are still able to be present partners for their husbands and be supportive,
then you don't know that that exists.
But you shouldn't be putting people in boxes and really should be focusing on, I think, at this
point, the connection.
And do I like this person?
Am I communicating well with this person?
Is there attraction?
Is there, you know, a connection on whether it be faith or family or whatnot?
And then you work those other things out the further you get into a relationship.
I think it's like borderline creative.
crazy to be talking about, but are we expecting sanity, Heather? That you want a woman that like will
raise your children. That's great. You can aspire to want that. I think it's a very strange thing to
put on somebody that you probably don't know their last name at this point. Like those are,
I would have approached that conversation and been like, you know what, in my ideal world, I would love to
have a woman that, you know, stays home and has, you know,
full, you know, rearing of our children. That would be my ideal world. But you telling me that your
career is really important to you and fulfills you. I think that's amazing. So maybe that's like,
you know, something that we put on the table now when we talk about further on down in our
relationship when we see ourselves moving in that direction. You know, it's like as much,
and I love the fact that Delaney thinks and values her career so much.
I think that's amazing, but I think any model will probably tell you that they don't model for forever.
So that's a job that does have a transitional period a lot of time.
Now, are, am I not saying that people, you know, become senior citizen models and like do
of course they do.
There is a market for everything.
But I think you'd be hard pressed to find somebody who was a model in their 20s all the way
through to their 60s and 70s.
It's not usually that kind of a career for most people.
You said it perfectly.
The whole time that you were talking,
I was literally thinking like you're putting so much in a box.
But the other pieces where you're taking two young adults,
keep in particular at 23 years old and asking them to figure out the rest of their lives.
Like, there is so much of me that I just want to take these people and shake them and be like,
you have your whole life.
You have your whole life.
Your 20s are meant for living.
And if she has a lucrative modeling career, milk that right now while you
can and you figure out the rest. You know, you and I, Heather, are old enough to know that we are
not the same person that we were in our 20s. I lived mine to the fullest, you know, but there is
so much of this watching them that you just want to be like, oh, man, you have your whole life
to like settle and settle down, not settle, but settle down and live out the rest of your
dreams, like live right now, live while you can. And not to be morbid or anything, but like, Keith,
you work in a line, an industry that is extremely demanding and also is prone to accidents or
things to happen. Let's say you get injured on the job. Wouldn't you like that fact and security of
knowing that my wife also makes additional income? So, you know, I am able to heal and do things.
And that's part of those vows, right, that people take when they're married up in sickness and in health.
Like you are going to have periods in your life and your relationship most likely where you are sick and your partner has to take on more of a load or vice versa.
And so that would be a nice thing to consider or as beautiful as children are and wanting to, you know, expand a family.
You have to take into consideration that not everybody is able to actually do that.
Not every person is blessed with the ability to have children.
So then what does that situation look like?
I think that it's a wonderful thing to daydream and plan and want something for a future.
But what's the saying?
We plan and God laughs.
I mean, it's just something to consider, Keefe.
I would not be throwing people out of our lives this early on.
But we all see this kind of unravel because Keefe has such strong convictions.
It does start to kind of raise some red flags for Delaney.
who is in this period of her life where her career is growing and she's taking advantage of that
and she's enjoying what's happening in her life and she's not necessarily ready to settle down.
I just have one more like note, Heather, of something coming from a woman who I never wanted to be a stay-at-home mom.
I struggled in that moment because I never saw Keith ask Delaney what she wanted.
It was all about what he wanted.
You were either going to fit what he was looking for.
And maybe they did and we didn't get to see it.
But we are not shown that he asked.
asks her, what is it that you want? Do you even want to be a stay-at-home mom? Do you want to give up your
career? Would you like to move out to, where is he from? South Dakota? Where is he from? Do you want,
he lives in a town of 200 people. Like, do you want that? We only hear his wants. And sometimes
men without that emotional maturity cannot think past what it is that they want.
it might not even be emotional maturity.
I mean, it might just be that's his value.
You know, there are certain people out there who think that the man is the head of the household.
And this is how it goes.
And you and I aren't saying if that's wrong or right.
We're saying that that's not necessarily the lives for us, but that works for some people.
And there's part of me that is like, you know, I'm glad that he has a vision of what he wants,
but and is speaking it.
But what I would say is Keith not to be so boxed in because also life happens.
Things change.
Experiences changes.
Circumstances change.
And you have to pivot.
And what you really want is a partner that is supportive.
and is able to pivot with you in those moments.
Life is not black and white,
and we actually don't know what's going to happen to any of us.
And we can plan and, you know, dream as much as we want,
but at the end of the day, we're not in control of a lot of things.
And so I just, I hope that Keith gets what he wants in life,
and I hope Delaney gets what she wants in life.
but it felt like because they're in this very pressure cooker situation, they were forced to have
these kinds of conversations, I think way earlier than anybody naturally that had had known each other
as long as they had would be having.
So this is a podcast about video games.
Kind of.
It's also about friendship.
Definitely.
And chaos.
Unavoidably.

All right, we move on to Tim and Gia's date.
These two little cutie pies are in it to win it.
They're in it for the long haul, and nothing makes me happier.
they have their tea leaves red.
Have you ever done this, Heather?
I've never done this.
Never.
But listen, we see that their tea future says that they will have kids.
And, you know, what I love is that the two of them, they're on board.
We see a lot of just like them on the same page.
And everyone loves a good happy ending.
So hook, line and sinker, I'm down for it.
David and Val, David thinks that he and Val have a good shot in the real world.
Val says she trusts David.
I am very confused by this, given the situation.
And again, from the get, we have said there is no slut shaming, but you have to take
relationships from what they are and how their relationships started.
And it started in a trauma bond.
So that's why she trusts him.
They started in a trauma bond of the entire boat is against us.
So she has nobody else to turn to other than the shipwrecker that she came in with, which is Christine.
She is not fully connected to anybody else.
So that is why she has built this quote unquote trust with David.
It's them against the boat.
Yeah.
Here come my little cutie pies, James and Lexi.
I don't know why I love them.
I just, they're my, I like love them, my little babies.
James has known Lexi was his person since they met. Lexi says she loves him in an interview and then
catches herself. That was funny. I loved it because you know how you're just like overwhelmed with
feeling sometimes and sometimes it slips out, but then you think, oh my God, immediately like I don't want to
be that crazy bitch. This is not love. Like I'm infatuated right now. This is obsessive thinking.
You know what I mean? But I love it because in that moment we saw such a normal woman speaking in that
interview. I loved it, Heather. You know better than anyone being on the other side of this experience,
how much these producers are grilling you? How are you feeling? Are you falling? What's going on in your
head right now? They ask you so many different ways, hoping that you will have a slip up like she did on camera.
And yeah, that was absolutely hilarious when her eyes were like, whoa, that just sounded crazy.
So I immediately was like, slow down, girl. And she catches herself, her eyes.
every bit of it when she thinks, oh, love, I said the O word. That's not what I meant. That's crazy.
We're all crazy. Everything's crazy. But everybody's feeling the love in this episode. It is,
the word is getting thrown out there a lot. A lot. Yeah, yeah. So then they go to their hotel rooms,
and that's when Tim tells Gia, he's starting to fall in love with her. And Gia reciprocates this.
And then we see James to Lexi, he's in love with her. And she's,
she goes, I love you too.
And it's just like, oh, it's so much love.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
But then everybody is hanging out in their rooms and they get knocks on their doors.
And they go and answer and that's when they're surprised.
And Gia is surprised by her twin brother.
And then Val, Christine, Delaney, and Lexi are all surprised by their best friends.
And this is very much reminiscent, right, of hometowns or, you know,
know, try and visit on the bachelor.
I was just going to say this feels very bachelor for me.
This feels very bachelor, bachelorette, bring in the family, let them girl the person,
let them try to tell the one, this is not whatever.
It felt very bachelor for me.
They do this on Love Island, too, at the very end.
They have them show up to the villa as well and surprise them.
And in the villa, they don't know what day it is.
They've been there for so long at this point, but they're just.
like completely confused. It's like 30 days in and then their family shows up randomly at the villa.
So everybody's like emotional and excited. And then, you know, these friends and Gia's brother are
really there to kind of grill the guys and see how they're feeling. And we get Lexi, her friend
is shocked that Lexi and James are in love. And James talks to
the friend about how he kind of loves the way Lexi and him have approached conflict so far that
they have faced. And her friend really likes how James talks to Lexi. So that's a sweet little
moment. Christine's friend calls Jake very suave in the way box. And then she asks him,
she asks Christine if she's dignitized, which is so funny because this is just a very funny
term. I love that they gave the definition of it. I love that, Heather. I was so glad that you said that. I love
it on screen. They literally give the definition. And I just thought for us old ladies, you know what I mean?
For me to be schooled, that was really great. Well, I think it's so funny because this is a term that I have
used many a times on dating shows when we talk about girls' past and, you know, history. And, you know,
if somebody on this cast was dignitized at all thus far, I would say it was.
low first and foremost.
Absolutely.
And then it was Christine probably in this situation.
So Christine's friend said she wants to see more of Jake and thinks he's like a bit of a smooth talker.
So she kind of, you know, and also, let's be frank, Jake is 23 years old.
So her friend's red flags are going up.
Val's friend.
So Val's friend and David, David tells the friend that he had to make a big decision when choosing Val.
And David says his last relationship ended with trust issues.
Okay, so this goes back to what I said before, where he kind of glazed over this very quickly in his path.
But we get it.
But he told on himself.
And so now we find out that he has cheated in a previous relationship.
And this is like concerning to Val's friend.
We find out later it's not concerning to Val because Val has also cheated in a previous relationship.
So again, it's very.
trauma bonding, two people kind of mirroring each other in this situation, which I personally think
too much of the same is never a good idea. I think that you want to have differences in your
relationships and differences in personalities, which is why I think that, like, Lowe and him
were interesting to look at and watch from afar because they were different. But I think
David is used to being with people that kind of move through life and approach relationships
and sexual interactions maybe is similar to him.
And I think that that's why he's drawn initially to Val is because she is moving.
They're on the same level.
They're on the same level.
She's moving through things the same way as him.
Gia's brother, who's adorable, by the way.
I mean, those little glasses, like he was so cute.
Um, he asks Tim, uh, why Tim came, uh, to find love.
And Tim says after one conversation with Gia, he knew it was her.
And the brother continues to grill him with questions.
And then, uh, at the end, he tells Gia like, he isn't sure Tim is her person, but he's like
here for it.
Like if she, if she's like into it and having fun, then he's like, great.
Like, do you?
Free for all.
Yeah.
Free for all.
And then Delaney's friend, you know, is talking with Keefe.
And Keefe makes a weird, sarcastic joke about Delaney not being funny, which doesn't land.
It is very awkward.
Uh-huh.
And her friend says, Keefe doesn't look like Delaney's type and she doesn't think a 23-year-old is ready to settle down.
I'll go against the grain on the ready to settle down thing just because clearly Keefe,
is, you know, very into straight and narrow. And so I think that there's plenty of, you know,
young people in the South and in different communities that do settle down in a young age. And it
worked for them. So I wouldn't say he's not ready to settle down. But her friend probably knows
what her type is, you know, and is being honest with that. I'm wondering, though, in this
conversation, I loved Delaney's best friend and how she showed up for her friend.
But did you notice when she asked Keefe, what do you like about her?
And he was like, well, she's beautiful.
She's not funny, but she's beautiful.
Did you notice, I mean, I don't know if I'm just hyper aware because of who I am,
but he doesn't say anything about her, like, core about her as a person.
And not that he would.
They've known each other, what, 48 hours?
But to me, that would have been a red flag.
She's asking him for honesty.
Like, he couldn't even brush the surface and been like, well, she's super kind.
She's very intentional.
She's, you know, even if he needed to just fluff it a little bit, but he doesn't.
He doesn't.
He talks about her beauty and she is.
She's a model.
Girl knows she's beautiful.
But he doesn't give any other substantial evidence to show that he even knows who this girl is on a deeper level.
Yeah, you make a good point.
I'm going to go out on the limb and say that was an edit.
trick.
Okay.
Personally, because we've seen him being very conversational when it came to his interviews
about what he had to say and think about Chaudet.
So I think he's capable of communicating.
Maybe he didn't in that moment and maybe you're correct.
But I feel like the editing was done with them specifically in this episode to really
drive home the point that they are not compatible.
And they're going to do that, I think, in any way that they can.
which means including the weird joke, which means including any moment of tension between them.
He is also a man of few words, though, so you could very well be right.
But I think the friend said it best in the sense that their lifestyles don't mesh.
And she say that, like, Delaney has in the past, like, dimmed her light, essentially, in relationships.
And, like, she doesn't want to see her, like, do that again.
So I think the friend is on the money.
And I think that that was, those were clearly the little voices in Delaney's head that she was subduing.
She was already thinking these things.
These were already, this wasn't a mind-blowing moment for her.
This stuff was already on the surface for her.
Exactly.
And I think, listen, this is, this point in these shows is also when it gets tricky, right?
Do you stay in because you want to win the game?
Or do you stay in because you are interested in what could happen?
and in this relationship.
Same thing on Love Island.
People sometimes stay together and try to make it work towards the end because they still
want that chance at the money.
Because it is still about winning.
Yes.
You would hope that you make a connection, but it is about winning.
That's really, I think that's where viewers in particular, if you've never been on a reality
show, that's where it gets confused.
You want the real thing.
You want the love, right?
but ultimately you get to a point where it is about staying.
It is about winning the concept.
You're not so aware that you need to be able to admit that,
but that's ultimately what happens.
Exactly.
So we go into our final episode,
and just to recap our couples at this point are Lexi and James,
Jake and Christine, Tim and Gia,
Keith and Delaney, and David and Val.
And I just watched this opening scene,
and I was like,
Delaney has the most incredible hair.
I feel like I've ever seen.
Oh my God.
Is it not like a thick, gorgeous, like horses mane of hair?
There was a lot of hair this season, but I most appreciated Delaney's and Anna.
Anna has the, I don't, if it's, she paid for it, it's extensions, I don't know, but they have the most gorgeous, gorgeous hair.
It's just long and beautiful.
And I just, the scene of freaking Delaney waking up in the morning and like no makeup
up on and putting on like lotion on her face. I'm like, this girl's gorgeous. This girl
wakes up and is like a Disney princess. She is so stunning and she's just going to be fine.
She's going to be just fine. They're all going to be just fine after this show. So Delaney decides to
pull Keith for a talk before they get back on the yacht. And that's when she says, you know,
I don't think that we should move forward with pursuing a relationship.
he very much is in agreement at the exact same moment.
There's no, like, they know that the jig is up.
They're in agreement, but didn't it feel very high tension?
They're in agreement, but I don't know.
It just felt like high tension to me.
I think that nobody wants to be dumped on camera.
You know what I mean?
And have you ever been in those situations?
I mean, I know.
Yes, actually.
I have been dumped on camera, Heather.
Did you miss that?
I have not been dumped on.
camera. But what I was going to say is, have you ever been in those situations where somebody
dumped you? And you were like, gosh, dang it. I was going to dump you. Like, I actually,
I am thinking of something right now from my past where I was literally crying because this guy
dumped me before I could dump him. Like, I was not sad that it was over. I was literally sad because
I was like, I wanted to dump him.
So I feel like that is the energy I'm getting from Keefe in this situation is like, this dude was also probably talking to, they were both probably talking to their own individual producers.
And he was like, I'm going to dump her.
And she was like, I'm going to dump him.
And then they let her talk first.
And he was probably just like, no, me first.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I see it.
All right, Heather, the burn box.
We see the segment about the burn box.
they'll write down their deepest and darkest secrets and thoughts about the other couples.
I don't know, Heather.
This was excessive.
Excessive.
And then it's like, then we're going to go cast another vote.
And it's just like, okay, let's just like get to it.
So it's just like the couple's just saying mean-spirited things.
And then there's only four couples at this point.
So everybody knows who's writing about who.
like this is something that you do early on.
Yeah, because you don't really,
you see people fighting with David the whole time
because of what he's done,
but you don't see any kind of arguments
with the other couples.
They're all friends.
So it felt really unnecessary.
Exactly.
But it's like this,
we see this kind of game or element play out on other shows,
but you do it earlier on when there's more people still on.
So you don't know who wrote what.
And it's a little bit more confusing.
This was very blatant who was writing about whom.
Like, you know, these couples are in alliance on two and two, like basically the whole time.
So someone wrote on that David will ghost vowel as soon as they get off the yacht.
I mean, they're not far off, Heather.
That's probably correct.
That's probably right.
Gia is not going to take it to the next level with Tim physically.
I think that's like a stretch.
I think these two have shown that they are attracted to.
incredibly mature. And fine. And I think that, again, it's like you can be sexually free and be giving BJs five minutes after you meet somebody in the shower on camera. That is your prerogative. Somebody choosing to wait until something is special or something has been discussed a little bit more in length should not be weaponized against them by any means, just like we don't weaponize the opposite to somebody because they're more free-spirited. So I didn't really like that comment.
part either. It's also the part of the culture that we live in, too. You know what I mean? Oh, you don't drink. Why? What's wrong with you? Oh, you're not doing,
you're not doing sexual activity. What's wrong with you? I think it's more of a culture on these shows, right? Especially, where everybody's rock in the boat,
except for this one couple. It's like, that's not how everybody, a majority of people, I think, move through life.
So anyways, it's just, it was excessive. And then one says you were just supposed to be a shipwrecker,
a homewrecker.
Let's get over it, guys.
Okay, we're over it.
They weren't married.
Jake and Christine is just lust.
Okay.
I mean, sure.
It is.
Okay.
Yeah, great.
Lexi and James are not compatible outside the boat.
It's a stretch.
It's a stretch.
These two clearly are into each other.
They're young.
That's the only thing that I think is like the biggest flaw in what could happen.
It's just like young.
And then against David, it says, once a cheater, always a cheater.
David, you haven't done anything to, like, really help yourself out in this whole situation.
So everybody votes, who should go home?
Tim and Gia, they both vote for Jake and Christine.
David and Val, they both vote for Tim and Gia.
Val follows his choice.
Jake and Lexi, they both vote for Jake and Christine.
And then we could be at a tie, which Gabby said we can't have a tie.
and so Jake and Christine decide to vote themselves to leave.
I love that they did this.
I mean, I wasn't super connected to Jake this whole time anyway.
You know what I mean?
But I love that he was just like, I'm just going to take one for the team.
I'm going to ride off to the sunset for whatever reason.
Either he's over, Christine, and he's ready to move on or he just is like,
we don't stand a chance.
I just love that they did this and they didn't make it a whole situation.
They were just like, we're going to see ourselves out.
It was fun.
We had a good time.
Goodbye.
It was just annoying.
So then we have our last day on the yacht and Gia is still irritated, but by what David said the night before about her not having sex with Tim.
And Lexi doesn't support David or Val anymore.
And, you know, Val is telling David that he's the only one who could take down her walls and they get like emotional and talk about this.
And then Gabby asks the couples to come to the Sundack, final vote.
all the castaways return to determine who the winning couple is.
So this is very survivor-esque.
You have everybody from the show come back.
But not everybody.
Our girl Bella was not there.
Did you notice that?
I was looking for our girl, Heather, and she was not there.
She was noticeably missing, and I was so very sad.
Where was my girl?
How did I miss that?
You missed it.
I looked for her in the pans.
They did the panning very quickly with all.
of the contestants. And I was looking for my girl Bella because I just needed a little bit more of
her, but she was not there. Bella, DM us. Why weren't you there? What happened? This is crazy.
You actually, she wasn't at the ex. She wasn't. Party. She was missing from the time she left
the boat. She was gone. Bella. She must have really been struggling and was like I go home.
Wow. Bella.
We just noticed that. I just noticed that. Wow. Interesting. Okay. So Lexi and James. James calls Lexi the love of his life. I love them. I love them, Heather. I love them. And I love that Lexi reminds everybody. She's like, my man went to the downside and I followed him because I like him that much. So that's a good point. Tim and Gia, Gia says that she's falling in love with Tim. And Tim says he wasn't expecting to
fall in love, but being vulnerable has been hard for him. And now he gets to show his soft side with
Gia and he loves her. David and Val, Val says she was attracted to him from the start.
And that we know that. David provides her passion and security and that Val says she's in love
with him. This is actually shocking to everybody that is walking. They've been there two weeks.
We've heard the timeline. They've been there two weeks. All they've really experienced is,
his situation with Lowe.
Yeah.
And so Lowe chooses this time to interrupt and she asks to read a little speech that she's written.
Lowe, I'm going to give you your snaps on this because you start out first by apologizing
to Val and misappropriating your anger.
So great job.
That is a really good sign of growth and reflection.
She calls out David for flipping so quick and not coming clean to her when he had the chance.
Again, David, he apologizes to Lowe, but the castaways like really don't think he, it's that
great of an apology. And then he starts to tell Val how he feels and he just goes, fuck it.
And just stops talking. It is this moment for me that my heart actually breaks for Val.
She is given, I mean, a less than stellar opportunity on this show.
I, not that he needed to like confess his undenying love for her,
but just that like she doesn't get what she deserves.
It is, it's all about the situation and how David acted and how he was wrong and that is played over.
And he does no part in taking accountability or even at any point turning and looking and going,
I'm sorry.
Even if he doesn't want to take accountability for just like being like,
I'm sorry that you are having to do this right now. I'm sorry that this is taking away from you.
I don't know. I needed more from him. Yeah, but this is the thing like you can't will somebody to change.
They have to do it on their own. And I think that this is a really good example of somebody that is just right now set in their ways and not willing to take accountability.
And again, I hope that this experience is kind of a mirror for David because,
Like I said previously, this is going to follow him for a really long time.
So this is a podcast about video games.
Kind of.
It's also about friendship.
Definitely.
And chaos.
Unavoidably.
Welcome to It's Dangerous to Go Alone.

There is no gatekeeping.
There is no skill check.
If you win a game on Easy Mode, we support you.
If you've never touched a controller, honestly, same energy for some of us.
It's fun.
It's chaotic.
It's friendship with a loose gaming theme.
And somehow we keep getting away with it.

Anyone can now be an entrepreneur.
Anyone can build an app.
And it's very empowering.
Each week, I'll speak to the people building that future.
And we're going to break down what all of this innovation actually means for you.
What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion,
they're actually dating the companies that create this.
We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations in human history.
And let's be honest, that can be messy.
There's no playbook for what to do when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment.
Mostly human will show you how.
My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit.
The reason I say agency is because if we can give power back,
back to people, then I think that's probably the best thing we can do for your mental health.

You know Roll Doll, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG.
But did you know he was also a spy?
Was this before he wrote his stories?
It must have been.
Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Doll, is a wild journey through the hidden
chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life.
His job was literally to seduce the wives of powerful Americans.
What?
And he was really good at it.
You probably won't believe it either.
Okay, I don't think that's true.
I'm telling you.
The guy was a spy.

Why hasn't a woman formerly participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?
Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age?
What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
And how did a 2023 event called Wag Ageddon change the paddock forever?
That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman,

a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport.

So the castaways vote for the couple they think will last, and two couples will be going
overboard tonight.
So we have our final plank ceremony, and Gabby says the men will be representing the couples
for this.
So first up is David and James.
David chooses at this time to tell the group why he likes Val.
And she makes him feel safe, is what he says.
And so James and Lexi end up going overboard, which is shocking.
I know they were your favorites.
James gets dumped.
And as soon as he does, Lexi goes and dives in after him and says, my man.
That is the moment I needed the entire show, Heather.
Okay.
So, you know, I'm all for.
James and Lexi, and I was so sad because I really had them pegged to win.
I thought about texting you in that moment, but I was like, I'm going to save it and save
it for our episode.
Yeah.
I had them pegged to win the show.
So I am very, very sad for multiple reasons, mostly because I'm wrong.
But also, I just think they're so cute.
And I think they can have somewhat of a lasting relationship for their age.
I think they're really into each other.
But the moment that Lexi is like, nah, I'm going after my man and she jumps in.
I needed that the entire season.
I needed that.
So I felt fulfilled in that moment that she, we get this like heroin moment where she jumps overboard
and her hair and her lashes are all wet and she swims to the raft for her man.
And that's what I needed the entire episode, the entire season.
I think it was shocking because, again, that means David is staying for the next round where he goes up against Tim.
And this is finally where Tim and Gia win, meaning David goes.
overboard and they are our winning couple. They embrace. They are so excited. We see them
sail off into the sunset together. It's cute. I mean, I was not disappointed by it. Do we know how
long they're going to last? Obviously, we don't know. But the fact that they do live in the same city,
I think is a very good thing for them to try and build their relationship.
Okay, I'm going to bring it back to the interview that you saw on social media that People
magazine posted of him.
Oh, yeah.
And he is talking and he literally says, you know, they're like, what's your status?
Where are you guys?
He's like, we'll have to wait and see.
I'm like, we've already seen it, bro.
Just tell us what's going on.
And then at the end, he very coyly is like, well, she lives right down the street.
Yeah.
And I'm like, okay.
But I need a reunion, Heather.
I love the idea of a reunion for this show.
I will say that I did some social poking.
Looks like Tim posted a video from him and Gio during Halloween.
That together.
And then I did a little poking.
And Val wrote this whole long post saying,
I know everybody wants to know the outcome.
after the show, I'll share my thoughts when I'm ready.
Her and David are not following each other on social media,
so I can't imagine that it was good.
But David has...
I saw it. I saw it.
Not only posted pictures of him in Lowe, kissing, embracing,
he's also posted pictures of him in Val.
So David is acting like this was an experience and, you know,
he's posting things from it.
But, yeah, I would...
I would bet that they are not together anymore.
I wasn't even in a relationship with David, and I am confused.
I just think that David, I don't think he ghosted her, but I'm sure he said something like,
I need to get back to reality.
I need to figure things out.
We need to focus on me right now.
To focus on me and ended things with her.
I'm interested to see, like you, if Tim and Gio,
are still together. I feel like it's a little questionable, too, about Lexi and James.
I haven't seen. James is very active on his social media. He's very active in posting.
He's been answering some fan questions and stuff like that. I don't get as much from her.
So I am really interested. I have had to refrain because I want to get to the end of the show
before I start DMing all of my friends to find out what's going on in their lives. I'm like,
I'll just inch into the crazy lady position first, but I'm really curious. I hope that they give us
a reunion show. I would really like that some sort, even if it's just like online,
I would really like a reunion show. And if they're not together, like, I need it for my own sanity.
We'll keep you guys posted. If we see a reunion, obviously, we will recap it. But this has been
such a fun journey, Deanna. Thanks so much for letting me come on and co-host these episodes.
with you about our favorite new show.
And hopefully we get some answers on what happened with Bella, what's going on with her.
But I'm staying in tune for a season two because this was such a fun show to watch.
And I hope that everybody has enjoyed listening to these recaps.
Tell us, who were you hoping to win this show?
And what did you think of the outcome?
But until I guess we have a reunion or another show to recap, that's all.
for us. Thanks, Deanna. Heather, what am I supposed to do with all my free time now?
Follow them on Instagram and obsess over them in real life. Exactly. Exactly. Until our next show that we have to
recap where people are kind of famous, we'll have to figure out what that next show is. Until our next
reality show, I've been Deanna. I've been Heather. Bye.
Bye.
