This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHeart Radio. Hey, guys, I am back with Katie Bigger and Kailen Bell, and we are going to be breaking down some of these headlines that have come out about Taylor Fricky Paul
Starting point is 00:02:54 and the whole situation over the past few days. Taylor Frankie Paul defends her social media activity after The Bachelorette. This is a very, this is a very strange thing. The day after the cancellation, I saw her commenting under a whole bunch of Instagram reels. Even though, you know, we would have thought that her world just blow up, I would have been like rolled up in a ball being like, I don't know how to go on. I am so thoroughly embarrassed and I just need to like literally go to Tahiti. Like I need to like go to a place where there are no screens and no news. And so she was on her phone and somebody said, isn't it weird that like you're on your phone?
Starting point is 00:03:34 Like why are you commenting back to people and reposting TikToks? I would say that her team should take away the phone. But no, she's literally reposting TikToks like that are in support of her and coming back, commenting back to people at Instagram. And then she said, yes, I'm always on. It's my job. still have to work. Want me to stare at a wall instead? Which is crazy. We all do this to a certain degree. She does not have work right now. Nobody is paying her to do an ad right now. Like, you also don't get paid to comment on TikTok, unless I'm missing something. You don't get paid
Starting point is 00:04:11 to comment on TikToks and Instagram. I'm so weirded out by the last comment particularly, want me to stare at a wall instead. It's like, no, we're, we're, just and you do plenty of other things. Also, if she's labeling this as her job, which yes, I understand, yes. But like, it's okay to take some UTO, some unpaid time off would be great or, you know, take a mental health day, which a lot of people do in the real world. So I think she just needs, I think silence in this case is a lot more powerful than her being chronically online.
Starting point is 00:04:48 She has kids, too. Like, spend time with your kids. Get off of your phone. go outside like what do you mean stare at a wall there's so many things you can do you need to be with your family you need to be with the people that like love you the most right now are going to like comfort and take care of you or hire and put you in the best situation um yeah you can hire an assistant but like yeah your comments online are just going to make everybody else think that you are less well we're thinking that like you poor thing you have an actual you have a real addiction
Starting point is 00:05:18 sometimes i feel like i have an addiction to the phone too and i'm in the middle of doom scrolling. Yeah. The optics aren't great, period. Like, even after all this, she's just digging herself an even bigger hole than she's already in. Yeah. All right. So now we'll talk about Dakota's temporary protective order against her. It's been granted. The court finds that there is reason to believe it has jurisdiction over the parties. And this case, the respondent and the petitioner are cohabitants. and the respondent will be served notice of her opportunity to be heard at a scheduled hearing.
Starting point is 00:05:57 The respondent has abused or committed domestic violence against the petitioner or that there is a substantial likelihood that the respondent immediately threatens the petitioner's physical safety. Per the order, Taylor is unable to have any contact with Dakota and must obey by all orders, included on this form and not to abuse, threaten or threaten abuse to anyone protected by this order. La la la la. She needs to stay 100 feet away from him and cannot contact him
Starting point is 00:06:32 through phone, mail, email, communicate in any way. He will be given temporary custody of the minor children. And this includes going and taking her, like, taking him to school daycare
Starting point is 00:06:51 and it looks like this will be in effect until they have their court hearing on Tuesday, April 7th. I think that all of us are probably in agreeance to the fact that even though Dakota is probably not a you know, he's part
Starting point is 00:07:10 of the problem in all of this. He should probably have custody right now. He definitely perpetuates the toxicity of it all. He's added to it, yeah. Back to the video too. We're only seeing when he decided to record. Like, did he do something to her before? Did he do something to rile her up to get the reaction that he wanted so that he had this video
Starting point is 00:07:29 proof? Like, it all feels so manipulative. That's not saying that what she did is wrong because what she did is so, so, so wrong. But we're only seeing him and his narrative of this. Yeah. I know. People will talk about that too. And I see both sides. You could either, he could either be recording it because, you know, he's a victim of abuse and that is what people say to do. You know, yes, document it, which he is, yes, an abuse victim. But at the same time, was he doing it for other reasons as well? We don't know. It's just so awkward to talk about.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Like, I don't want to accuse him of that either. I'm honestly just for my own because I'm just catching up on this. Has she ever once outwardly said that he has abused her? I genuinely don't know. Like, has that ever come from? I believe in the beginning, yes. And then she said no. Because I've been reading into this too.
Starting point is 00:08:31 I think initially in the police report, it was that he did too. Okay. But then she went on a podcast and said he didn't. I don't know. Okay. Well, that actually leads into something. So we got an extended version of the video from like a police body cam. yesterday in which Dakota says,
Starting point is 00:08:48 no, please don't take her. You could take me. Like I feel like I don't even want like this at all. And they're like, well, we have to arrest her now, but you can like decide not to press charges. So he was trying to get her out of that situation as soon as it happened. Again, I think that's probably just because like he felt bad for his girlfriend that she was getting handcuffed and taken away.
Starting point is 00:09:11 But again, who the heck knows? And then in the recent press release from her lawyer publicist, who the heck knows, in response to the cancellation, she does insinuate that he's been like mentally emotionally and physically abusive and that she is the true victim here. But we don't know if that's true either or if it's a PR statement. It just seems like it's the most toxic relationship and that's such an overused phrase. but I know it's like these two people need to be as far away from each other as possible and they do not need to be on TV. They do not need to be filming a TV show together having castmates like riled them up and like for the drama. These people are not well and they need to get help and like take care of their kids and it's crazy. Yeah. And that right there like the priority should be the kids like get away from the TV show like you said like this isn't doing anybody any good.
Starting point is 00:10:11 like just get off get off the TV show and prioritize your family your kids and your mental health i know i'm like are there good grandparents around here because i just like want these kids to like well obviously i know exactly what are the what's his one are his parents like i don't know uh and then of course her ex-husband seems very like even keeled throughout of this he he seems like a good one but i guess we all don't really know he's not really a public figure he like bought pop in every now and again. So I wonder what she was like back in the day with him. Anyway, I'm glad that those kids are in that, that girl, that daughter was his in the video. I can't imagine what he's going through now as the dad's seeing that video and seeing his daughter get hit.
Starting point is 00:10:58 The newest tracks. Let's go. New music and the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all. I think I'm your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers.
Starting point is 00:11:23 I think we need something new. Discover I heart new music. Always fresh, always first. Stream now on the free Iheart radio app. I became a millionaire overnight, but lost everything that actually mattered. Wait a minute, Sophia. Did you just say he lost everything?
Starting point is 00:11:39 That's right. It's inheriting too much drama week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, I just inherited a fortune after losing my mom, and now my girlfriend's entire family is coming out of nowhere with their hands out. One sibling wants me to fund their whole lifestyle. Another vanished for four years and suddenly reappeared. And my girlfriend is already giving my money away.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Hold on, Sophia. So the girl he wants to marry is already sending money out the door. And that's just the beginning. He makes a plan, sets up a trust, and finally thinks he has everything under control. Okay, so things work out then? Let's just say the people he trusted the most are the ones who ended up shocking him the most.
Starting point is 00:12:15 So does the money end up being worth going through all that? To find out, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal. The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctored this particular test twice in so-ins, correct? I doctored the test once. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case.
Starting point is 00:12:49 I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd been through the same thing. Gregalespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, news, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Americopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona. Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade? Think about how many skills they have to do. develop at such a young age? What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year? He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Wagageddon change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory. I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm
Starting point is 00:14:06 tackling on no grip, a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the underwriting to explore pockets of the sport. In each episode, a different guests and I will go deeper into the wacky mishaps, scandals, and sagas, both on the track and far away from it that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Listen to no grip on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl. You may know me from my It Girl series I've done on the streets of New York over the years. Well, I've got good news. I am bringing those interviews and many more to this podcast. Yes, we will talk about the style and the success,
Starting point is 00:14:50 but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work with the women's shaping culture right now. As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated. So you have to work extra hard, and you have to push the narrative in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity. You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Each week, I have unfiltered conversations with female founders,
Starting point is 00:15:13 creatives, and leaders to talk about ambition, visibility, and what it really takes to build something meaningful in the public eye. Because being an it girl isn't about the spotlight, it's about owning it. I think the negatives need to be discussed and they need to be told to people who maybe don't do this every day just so they know what's really going on. I feel like pulling the curtain back is important. Listen to It Girl with Bailey Taylor on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:46 So our next headline is about the video. Taylor Frankie Paul could face enhanced charges over alleged dementia. domestic violence incident due to 2023 plea. So what's going on here is that she's currently on probation for what happened in 2020 if what happened
Starting point is 00:16:06 in February turns out to be something her probation, you know, she can get sent nuts. She can be charged with something worse. And if she didn't have anything pop up during her probation, she could have been charged with her
Starting point is 00:16:22 2023 incident being a lesser charge. So that's, you know, that's all to be determined by whatever the police investigation turns out to seem like. One thing that I would like to talk about is the fact that they cast someone as the Bachelorette who was on probation. I did not know this until last week. I was like, wait, what? They couldn't even like leave the country because of this. Yes, that's what I was going to say. The St. Lucia thing, which is where they film the finale, apparently there's like an out with like U.S.
Starting point is 00:16:58 It's not a U.S. Virgin Island, but that island doesn't have, yeah, it's something. Yeah, no, we found out before they started filming that they would have to film entirely domestically in the country, I guess aside from St. Lucia, but because she's on probation. That really says this shouldn't be your lead. It really, really shouldn't be your lead. Like, I am so thankful for this show. my husband, but they are just making wrong decision after wrong decision. The right decision was to cancel this show, so I'm thankful. But if you can't leave the country, get a new girl, get Brooks Nader, get anyone else. Like, she's not your girl. My thing is too, it's like it's very interesting because
Starting point is 00:17:39 like I feel like behind the scenes, we had a revamp, you know, producers got, you know, whatever. there's new production team camera crew etc all for the most part a lot of new people I'm like who has come in now and has made this decision because I'm like was this the right choice should we go back to the other people or like I don't know it's just very interesting who made this call and I know it's not just one person I know it's a bunch of people like oh that's a good idea would like you know what I mean it's just like interesting how they ended up on this candidate My thought is that it's somebody in charge of like the crossover content, you know, somebody who would want to make that trifecta that is Disney, ABC, and Hulu, like, stronger to connect everything together.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Our final headline in the week is Taylor Frankie Paul melts down during the Bachelorette date, a Bachelorette date, when a guy asked about her domestic violence case. So obviously we're never going to see this date. But TMZ, an insider with direct knowledge, tells TMZ, that Taylor's 2023 assault case was brought up by a contestant named Casey Hux during a one-on-one. She got very emotional about the topic. And then supposedly had a full-fudge meltdown when the arrest was brought up and she stormed off the set.
Starting point is 00:19:14 We're told that Casey raised the sensitive issue because he wanted to know, if anything, if Taylor learned from the experience and how she's grown from it. And, of course, he had never seen the TMZ video going into that conversation. Casey, I can think, tell you, I mean, I don't know if there's such a thing
Starting point is 00:19:34 as a spoiler alert anymore, but reality, Steve has reported that he was top three or top four. and no he made it to hometowns and he was a contestant of no on night one like I definitely considered him in my top four so that's super interesting
Starting point is 00:19:55 I wonder if she was annoyed at him or annoyed at production because perhaps they said something along the lines of like it won't be brought up if your bachelorette because why else would you like freak out in a mad way yeah that is interesting to me and everybody knows about this.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Yeah. And it would also be interesting to see her actual reaction. Like obviously we're hearing, you know, assuming, you know, we don't really know how she reacted. But I mean, judging by how they described it, it sounds like they're still room for growth. Exactly. Exactly. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:34 They probably won't like me saying this. But there was definitely a moment in the season-long teaser at the end. end of the first episode in which the guys basically give back their roses and they leave in a hostile moment. Dang. It was juicy. Yeah, I really wanted to know what that was about. There was also a moment where she took back their roses.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Yeah. Yeah. I also saw that she is lowering up to potentially sue ABC. Yeah. That seems far-fetched to me. And then I've also seen speculation that the guys are trying to sue ABC because their season won't be aired. And I'm like, you don't have a chance there. That's just you don't have a chance.
Starting point is 00:21:23 And then, of course, there's the option I think that ABC might have to sue her because she possibly violated her probation. And she, well, not that, not that part. The fact that she committed criminal activity, possibly allegedly, while under contract. so there's lots of suable matters it seems to be she i mean even just what we know of the contracts not criminal wise uh she spoiled the season so we know that you can be sued for that she spoiled her season in the sense that well it seems like she and dakota were back having some sort of relationship Dakota and she got spotted with uh her the one she picked and she did a tic-tok with him like what tic-tok did she do
Starting point is 00:22:10 with him. I think it's her most recent TikTok. I thought that that was a ploy. I thought that I was like, that arm could belong to any man. She's just trying to be like, look, I don't hear you, Dakota, as you are, you know, saying certain things about me. I can't hear my phone right now because she was playing telephone by Lady Gaga. I'm with a man right now. And I was like, that could be the arm of any man. But I will say he was wearing a t-shirt in one of like the, when he was like recently spotted with her getting out of a car or something. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:44 I don't know. But it was the same t-shirt in that TikTok video. Oh, really? Yeah. So I think it actually could be him. And they were spotted March 12th, I think. It was the day that she posted was the day he came out of the car with her. With that color?
Starting point is 00:23:01 Sure. Yeah. Interesting. Okay. Well, that's, we also heard that that was just kind of a marketing ploy. and like something to get eyes off of the February scandal because that at the time was what we were all focused on. So who the heck knows?
Starting point is 00:23:19 The rumor is based on reality, Steve, that she ended up with you guys, if you don't want to hear this, I guess you can turn this off, fast forward or whatnot, but it's like it's not going to be out there. And even if it does drop on Hulu, like I think you'll survive knowing
Starting point is 00:23:36 that she supposedly ends up with Doug and their relationship, which did end engaged they got engaged at the end of the show he and her ended up breaking up weeks like three, four weeks after the finale.
Starting point is 00:23:51 He flew out to Utah and I believe a filmed moment and she was with Dakota again like she was like reconcilingish with Dakota like she couldn't drop him and Doug was cute and their chemistry in
Starting point is 00:24:09 Night one, which I don't even think I'm allowed to say, was hot. I feel like this Doug dude looks like Dakota a little bit. Oh, she has the most descriptive type ever. Yeah. Ever, ever. What a mess. What a freaking mess. What will they do with these guys?
Starting point is 00:24:29 Will they use them in paradise? What do you think is the future of this franchise? Do you think that they're going to have a paradise? I think so. I think so, too. They didn't pivot correctly this time. And we were at the Golden Wedding. Dean and I told a producer this.
Starting point is 00:24:46 People watch for the messy and the drama, but they also watch for the love. We have so many couples that found love on the show. So do a traitors-ish show with couples. Literally, I've been saying this for years and years and years. I'm like, why don't you utilize your couples? You have so many married couples. Look at us.
Starting point is 00:25:04 All three of us here. It doesn't make any sense. We would all love to do it. I mean, I'm speaking for us all, but. Oh, yes. And make it a competition show, exactly. Like, traders, people will love it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Is that too fast to happen right now? Probably what I could imagine them actually being able to throw together is some sort of live. You know, how they do Big Brother and stuff and like Love Island, like almost live, where it's like every week put something together. Like, just give us two hours of people like just. mingling on a beach or like bring them all to the mansion put them up in like the hilton down the street the sheridan and then like bring them to the mansion during the day give us two hours of tv that's interesting to see it happen in live time they need to utilize the the bachelor mansion was just
Starting point is 00:25:57 renovated so yeah i got to utilize that in some way they i feel like that was a waste of money too now yeah that's true but yeah people love love so it's like let's let's let's hone in it on love instead of drama. Even though the drama's good. A little drama. The newest tracks. Let's go. New music.
Starting point is 00:26:24 And the next big thing. Always on the new music first. Your first place to hear it all. Because you're going to like it, love. I heart new music. Your digital station for brand new drops, fresh vines, and tomorrow's bangers. I think we need something new. Discover I heart new music.

Is there anything else that you guys think that we should broach on this whole situation in the future of the franchise? I think we just need a break and they need to pivot in a different way. Like new show concept, let's like scrap it all and do something completely new. We don't need to copy other shows formats. Like they try to do Love Island and Paradise last season. Yeah. We just need something new and refresh.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I don't know. It's hard because I feel like they're so mixed views. It's like people want it to go back to the way it was. People want drama. People want it to be more like Love Island. So I think they took that. And I think what they just need to do is like what I've just been saying like this whole time is just going back to their roots, making sure you find somebody that actually wants to fall in love. Give it a, give Rachel Kirkconnell this position or a Brooks Nader or somebody like that. I don't know. I don't even know where you go. You guys have been in the franchise. a lot longer than me. I don't know where you go with this. Maybe let it die. I don't know. Give it a fake. Rebrand, like, change the name. I don't know. But I feel like even like Harry Jousy I heard is coming out with like a bachelor type style TV show. So like somebody's also taking that concept and then revamping it and making it bigger and better. So I'm like, how do you stay at the forefront? And it's not Taylor Frankie Paul by putting her as late. You don't do that. It doesn't seem to make sense. It does.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I think we still need that stunt cast. I think we still need a celebrity to revamp the franchise just to bring attention back to it again. But obviously somebody who is a safer choice, maybe now we go with a guy for Bachelor. Yeah. Or Mora Higgins. Everyone's saying that, I know. But like she would be perfect. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:49 She would be really great. And she was, well, so she's traitor. So she's not in the ABC Disney family. They'd have to get over that one. Which is so silly to me because everyone else has branched out. Netflix has branched out. Like they're all bringing in whoever they want, all these different networks. We're the only one that's stuck in our own.
Starting point is 00:33:05 So they get out of that. With Vanderpump, they brought Vanderpump over to Hulu. True. So there's, you know, there's that. Thank you girls so much for joining me. It has been a pleasure, but it's been an unfortunate event. So until next time, guys, I've been Ashley. And they've been Katie.
