This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHartRadio.
Hey, guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast finale edition part two.
Ben is at a conference right now.
So I'm going to meet with a panel of our Bachelor faves.
and we're going to just get their opinion on the finale.
His, what would you call it, Rachel?
It's Rachel Reckia with us right now.
Hi, guys.
Grants, it's not a bad decision to pick somebody that you think you're properly fit with.
What's the bad decision here?
Is that you told the other girl it was her the whole time.
Crazy.
Crazy.
And going off that, I don't even.
feel like we were shown as like much as he did say that like I feel like I didn't realize so she
was sitting down on the couch how much of a switchup I guess this was I don't know the whole time
I thought she was running away with it but as viewers like we know sometimes it's not who you
think it is so I'm curious to hear your opinion well I gave my opinion for our audience to know
in the episode with Ben mine is just and so I'll just
briefly summarize it here, I just, I think that he wanted somebody to date and not somebody
to necessarily marry because he knew that Latia was like, we're on the marriage path,
we're on the kids path within two years, this is our timeline. I think he just knew that with
Juliana he could have more fun, he could kind of play by ear. I also feel like there was, I'm actually
kind of shocked they went with this like confusion storyline because watching this last episode
I feel like he could not be more obvious it wasn't Latia actually yeah I didn't mention that
yes I did not mention that with Ben I think that he was like really happy to see that like
that Juliana's connection was catching up with Latia because I think he started to feel
the Latia relationship was too heavy and the second he sat down with
his dad which by the way his conversation with his dad was probably my favorite part of the episode but
not for me not the not the um the final conversation with the dad but the conversation that he had
during one of the girl meet and greets where the dad started crying about how he was going to be
involved with his life going forward and like even after everything that he opened up about on gen
season like seeing this kind of all come to a close for him it was very nice but
the second he started mentioning he started like throwing in seeds of doubt about Latia and about the kids and I'm just so confused because Grant is 31 and did he not say he wants kids like when do you want those kids? It just felt like he was looking for an excuse to pick Juliana. I don't even know if it was that. It just felt like he was looking for something. I'm so glad you brought this up because this is stuff that I didn't talk about with Ben. Yeah. I
that um he made that comment to his dad saying like i played basketball my whole 20s and it sounded
as if he wanted to say but couldn't say because he's the bachelor but it sounded like he wanted to be
like and now i just want to have fun that's i want to travel i want to like you're picking your your
two decisions here are someone who is a little bit older and who's ready for the family and ready for
every single thing that you said you wanted first episode you stood there and you said
this is what I want but now you have this option okay Juliana she's a little just a tiny bit younger
and it doesn't feel like to him maybe as much pressure and now that this is really coming into the
engagement which all these men too I think don't realize they're actually getting engaged
I know across the board and I think now he's like oh shit I'm getting engaged and now I have to have a baby
like he's just I don't know because I do think he has a great connection with Juliana but as of you
where this definitely was a crazy switchup at the end, but not at the very last minute.
I don't think he was conflicted at the last minute.
I think that that was kind of built up, too.
I think what he was conflicted about was that he had said so many things to Latia,
that he was like, how do I get off the hook here?
I've just buried myself in lies.
Like, this is what I'm scared about, not necessarily who I'm going to, who I'm drawn to picking.
No, absolutely. And I'm, I actually am shocked, too, that they, it feels like they protected him a lot with this ending.
We think that they took a lot out of that, like, deciding term oil moment because, like, he just, they teased it all season long.
Like, he's going to have, he's going to go in 30 minutes beforehand not knowing.
But we didn't really see any of that emotional debate in his soul.
I didn't see any debate. I saw him sit down with Latia.
and basically try to get her to, like, have doubt.
And he starts bringing up this kid's thing again.
And she's like, no, it's fine.
It's totally fine.
We could discuss how you feel in those three years.
Like, she was literally saying, like,
anything you want, here's the platter.
And it just felt like he was trying to get her to doubt because he was doubting.
But then she said that he was saying,
I can't wait to get engaged tomorrow.
Why didn't they air that?
Like, genuinely, where's the footage of that?
Because I believe her.
I don't know.
Oh, I believe her, too.
And I'm dying to know what was said in the finale.
Yeah.
I mean, the fantasy suite, the fantasy suite.
And I also would love it.
I mean, they would never do this to their lead, though.
Maybe there was like one lead, you know, or maybe like Juan Pablo.
They would have done this too.
Like, I thought they were like protecting him, like especially having the panel of leads come up and be like, I did this too.
That was crazy. And I feel like it was overlooked how crazy that was.
You're right. That was a defensive mode.
That was them being like, you love, you love charity, you love Gary. Look, they did it too.
You hate Clayton. These are not as bad as Clayton. It felt like that's exactly what they were doing.
I love getting your take on that. That is so, so true. See, I, I mean, in a dirty way. Like, you know how, like, they, they totally produced Jen's finale in a dirty way.
where it was like, how could you do this to her?
So it's almost like they did the opposite here where they were like too kind to him.
Yes.
Because if we wanted to do him dirty, then we would roll the footage, which they have of him on FaceTime with Latia's mom being like wrap up the show now.
It's her.
And him being like, she said on their last chance date, he said, I can't wait to get engaged tomorrow.
Yeah, I know.
If that aired, if that actually aired and the FaceTime aired, the world would be.
destroying him where now I feel like
I've seen a lot of people like hating on Latia
really? Yes have you not seen people are like
the switch up of Latia was crazy
I'm like he's lucky she didn't freak out on him
she thought it was her
she used her brain and not a lot as
as much sass as she could have
she did use sass but it was well articulated
she is so much class I would have
been first of me and you would have just been crying
like emotional mess
But she was in shock and I thought handled herself great.
She did.
She really did.
Which is crazy.
I love your take here.
So seeing Clayton up there, having you been one of the ones that he said, basically, I love you too.
Did he say I love you to you?
Yeah.
And he told me that I'm the first one.
He said it to an eight years.
So of course, I also thought it was just, I'm like, oh, it's just me.
Like you always just you.
Yeah.
So how do you feel in Latia's shoes, having been.
in such similar shoes.
I don't know.
I think for me,
no matter what he said to me,
I always knew there was a chance.
Like, it wasn't me.
Because he said things like,
I love you,
but he didn't say you're the one stop the show.
No, no.
He never said that.
And I don't know.
I just think I was so aware of, like,
the environment and I knew it could switch up.
I didn't think it would.
Like, I really thought I was running away with it.
But I can't imagine how she felt,
being told
I love you
it's you
yeah like that's
end game
cut the tapes
he said I think he did say
something along lines
that in his
famously sweet interview
but
I have no idea
how she held it
together so well
I would still love to see
you in Bachelor in Paradise
which I know that you probably
would it you're not going to do
that's okay I respect it you know
that would have been your fourth show
and you were a lead so you don't want to
do Bachelor in Paradise twice. But listen, what do you think about the whole adding the
golden's in? I was going to ask you that. No, no, no, no. Nobody cares about my opinion. I already
gave it. Your turn. I hate it. Okay. That's the general consensus. Yeah. It seems like people really
did want the Goldens to have their own mingle show, but they didn't want it to be mixed.
I think there is just a special thing about Golden and what makes it different is that it is wholesome.
truly is about like finding love and it's such a deeper message and I think paradise just is messy
it's produced to be messy that's why people like it and I don't think watching them be messy
is going to give me entertainment I also feel like we have to realize that everyone on that beach is
an adult and I feel like producers are looking at it like oh clearly you know the goldens are
just going to be interested in the goldens and they're going to do but it's like
they're all adults like who knows like what is going to happen like I don't know it just feels like a mess waiting to happen unless they are separate I don't know not that something bad would happen but it just feels like unnecessary mess that I'm not going to want to watch I think to them it sounds like a show that's enticing for people to watch who've never watched before you're going to be like wait there's older people dating on a beach and it's like it's like love island with young people like I'm
mean with older people like i got to check this one out so that's i think it's for getting new
viewers in i i mean this sounds awful maybe this sounds awful maybe but i don't want them to like
i'm tired of them stealing the younger people's thunder there i said it i feel like i feel like
they're kind of just taking up space for there to be more bachelor young couples that like i don't
know maybe I'm obviously saying this from somebody who met my husband on the show yeah no I agree
and I also I was talking to someone about this last night and I mean if you look even back at me
gabby season having so many storylines makes it not fun to watch because there's so many things
happening there's so many characters you can't keep up it feels like there's going to be so much
that's buried when we're going over like love story love story and then you have all these
golden love stories, which they're going to take so much time on as well. Like, we're not going to
see anything. That's what Ben and I were saying. We're like, we already feel like we're having
storyline problems. We're not sewing things up properly. That, like, this is just going to add in
more, like, how many people are going to be there? Are you taking away people from the younger
beach? I'm going to say it's the younger beach. And we also don't know whether they'll be on the same
Beach. But even then, what are we going to go back and forth? Like, it's just storylines. Like,
okay, now we're at the old beach. Now we're at the young beach. We're going to miss so much
from what I want to watch, which is the young beach. I want to watch the mess and the screaming
and they're running up and down. Like, we're going to miss so much if we're going back and forth.
We just didn't need extra in Paradise because Paradise already has so much extra. So many
storylines that you don't even see because there are so many people there.
I really like I would have been so down for them to do a golden paradise-esque thing where it's like golden in paradise and they like go to Aspen or something and like they all like live in a cabin.
I don't even know if I would have watched that because it's just not wholesome I feel.
It's like you feel like that's not wholesome?
Do you think it's going to be wholesome?
Yeah, I think it could be.
I think a lot of these people like all a lot of you're being very generous.
I think they are wholesome too.
but I also think that like they're going to they're going to eat up the drama like I know but do
people want to watch old people drama I think that maybe they do you don't think okay I'm going to have
to get Bob and Trista's take because Bob and Trista are coming up next and you know they're they're not
golden's yet but they're closer to them than they are too yeah I don't know I don't know no in
their I'm talking about their actual physical age okay I'm just I
I am so, so, so happy that I went last year.
That's all I'll say.
Because if I was about to go and I heard this news, I'd be so mad.
I wonder if it is going to affect decisions of some people.
Are they going to be at the same rose ceremonies?
Like that would be weird.
Now, that would be crossing a line.
No.
No, it's just, and it's also like these, like, I don't know.
It just feels like unnecessary.
Like, everyone there is an adult.
Like, who knows what lines are going to be.
Like, I don't know.
Yeah.
It just seems uncomfortable.
I would be uncomfortable.
Yeah.
All right, Rachel, thanks for giving me your take.
And I love that it was different than what Ben and I had already discussed.
All right.
So we'll see you next.
You're the greatest.
All right.
We'll see you next time.
There will always be so many next times with Rachel Rackia here.
All right.
See you, Rachel.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Oh, wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra.
credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK story time podcast, so we'll find out
soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know
each other, but I just want her gone. Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That
sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former
professor and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists
there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to
believe him because he now wants them both
to meet. So, do we find out if
this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor
or not? To hear the explosive finale,

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that
they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Do this. Pull that. Turn this. It's just...
I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah.
This is Devin.
And on our new show, no such thing. We get to the bottom of questions like these.

Trista Sutter is here, guys.
I need to pick up where I just left off with Rachel Ranking it with you right now.
Okay.
We were talking about the Golden's in Paradise.
And I said since you were like somewhere in between.
What's your?
in the age groups what is your take on this like I need to know like do you think she thought
it wasn't wholesome enough for the goldens and I'm like I don't know I think the golden's like
their drama I do too and actually the fact that Leslie's going to be on there like she is
super excited about doing it and I feel like so part of me kind of agrees with Rachel and maybe
one of the reasons that I loved golden was because it was
so wholesome, but I also feel that, like, I'm starting to feel kind of what Joan expressed
on Golden Bachelor, and that was they feel invisible. I feel that sometimes at my age, and I feel like
as you get older, you just start to feel invisible. And they deserve love. You know, they deserve
to find it again. And if this is a way that they can do it, while they're having so much fun,
because Gary and Leslie, like, social, they're super social.
They are great television.
And I think, why not?
Like, let them not feel invisible and give us a great summer, you know, of entertainment.
Oh, my gosh.
You were saying the exact opposite of what I just said.
I go, I feel like they're stealing the younger people's thunder.
Like, they're not going to even, like, do, why is everything?
golden infiltrated now.
I think it is because it was such a success, you know, that's, I would, I would think.
But you know what?
We'll have to see because it's never been done before.
We'll have to see if people like it, if they actually like it.
Like, they might get there and be like, what the hell am I doing here?
Like, I should not be here.
Who knows?
Like, who knows what's going to happen?
It will all depend on the cast.
And it's really funny because we, Bob and I just had Jonathan Rohn on the podcast.
And I specifically asked him, would you do Golden Bachelor in Paradise if it was a show, not knowing that this was coming, like that this was an announcement.
And he had just broken up with his girlfriend.
Yes.
Basically, I think that he was like, I don't know, you know, maybe Golden.
bachelor like if I was asked to be the bachelor but um yeah I think I think it'll be really interesting
I love the cast members that they've had the only thing that I feel is maybe a stretch is the fact
that they don't have a lot of cast to draw from you know if there's only been two seasons so they don't
have a lot of cast to draw from and maybe that's why they're combining it you know you
know, and I wonder also how that's going to work. Like, are they all going to be in the same, you know,
like resort or whatever you guys called it? Um, or are they going to separate them and have them
join together like just hanging out during the day? Like, I'm really curious to find out what the
format's going to be, you know, how they're going to do dates. If it's going to be like just golden
dates and then, and then like Zoe was up there and I'm thinking, gosh, you know,
there are relationships where there's a huge age gap.
Like, maybe there's going to be a golden, like, non-golden.
Do you think that's their hope?
I mean, maybe for the producers, because it would get people talking, I don't see it
happening, but I'm just really, really curious to see a format and who's going to show up
and what's going to happen this summer.
It's actually kind of exciting, and it's getting us all talking.
So I think that's smart.
Who has not been announced that you would most certainly, like, expect to see there?
Oh, I don't even know who's been announced.
I would expect to see Nancy there.
Well, I mean, I guess all we see is Leslie and Gary.
Yep.
You know, big Gary.
Not, not Bachelor Gary.
And I'm just, like, assuming that, oh, my God, how, I'm forgetting her name.
Who's the third woman?
Susan.
No, no, no, no.
Not Susan and Kathy.
Susan and Kathy obviously are going to be there
Obviously, yeah, they'll be there
For sure
And then, and then
Who was it April?
April.
April? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
April.
I wonder if they'll bring her back
Because there was kind of some drama,
it seemed like, between her and the other girls, you know.
Yeah, that would be good.
And then Nancy, of course,
I think all the men want to see Nancy.
And then what about faith?
Faith.
I love faith.
I wonder if she would do it.
But, you know,
I feel like if they don't have anything going on, it is exciting to just go hang out at the beach.
Hopefully it's going to be at the beach this summer and see if there's a love connection to be had.
I don't know.
I also think Jonathan would be great.
I don't know if he knew about Bachelor in Paradise when we talked to him.
I would love to see him on there.
Oh, and Jonathan from Jen Tran season.
I don't know if he's been announced.
He'll definitely been there.
He's been announced.
Okay.
Okay.
What about like, not old school, but older school people, like, Mike Johnson.
Yeah.
And, right?
Like, I would love to see him.
Definitely anyone who's single who was a bigger name back in the 2010.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
No, I, and I'm, you know, I think it'll.
all work out, um, as it should. But, um, this season, I wonder about Latia, because there's not
going to be a bachelorette. Well, that's what I was telling Ben. I was like, Latia has to be in
paradise. And he was like, no. He doesn't think she'll do it. I think that Ben has like a thing about
paradise. He, he was never there. So I think that there's like almost sort of a stigma to Ben,
I might be wrong. He should be here to answer for himself. But he says,
he doesn't see her doing that.
And I'm like, if there's no
Bachelorette, you got to do it.
Right. And it's another chance
to meet somebody, especially
if you were pretty serious. And it seemed like she was pretty
serious. I mean, she might still be
heartbroken, even though she seemed very
solid. No, she's
done. She's done. That was the kind
of breakup where she like doesn't even have to mourn it
because he was, as she said, such a different person
and then she thought he was that like, she's like, oh, whoops, I was in love with somebody who was
like kind of a figment of my imagination. Yeah. It was heartbreaking to me, but I was like,
you go. Like, just speak your truth. I loved. One of my friends texted me and she's like,
oh my gosh, she is such a rock star. And her clarity. Like, she really was just so clear in her thought
process and like her like the way that she expressed it I'm like why I'm like it's like it's like
the Hannah Brown moment you know why can't I be like that when I'm upset just be like boom boom boom
they're my points you can't retaliate uh-huh no she was so clear and very articulate and so mature
and she had all the receipts you know like she was like you said this you said this you said
it then then and you said it the day before like I don't know I don't know I
grant and um Juliana seem really happy and I'm happy for them and I hope that it works
because that's just who I am like I want all the couples to work out but I feel like
unless Juliana doesn't watch the show which could possibly be the case because a lot of
them don't watch the show. I think she might have a hard time with what happened between Grant and
Latia. I was very interested. I was very interested by the fact that they seemed so happy Dory,
honky Dory, when they met at the end on the couch, because I was assuming that they would be
like, oh, we've gone through it. Right. You're so right. I was expecting that too. And they seem
really happy. So I wonder if she
hasn't watched the show and
she's just trying to stay away from
the gossip and people
talking about it. Who knows? I feel
like that's kind of the only way you
can be successful.
Yeah.
Is if you just kind of ignore it.
Yeah. I mean, look
at like Des and Chris.
You know, I feel like her,
I don't think she said, it wasn't exactly
the same, but I feel like
her and I think it was Brooks, you
there was something between them and Chris didn't watch the show and look at that they're they've got three kids now you know very happy good good point this almost is the most similar that's the most similar scenario that I can think to this because they were just the entire time it was Brooks it's gonna be Brooks give me Brooks and then it was like no it's Chris and I was like oh was that your default exactly but we we now know that we know that Juliana was not his default girl no he definitely picked her but I do think that he picked her but I do think that he picked her
because he wanted to date someone because they said, he said, I'm looking to have fun now
after playing basketball for like my 20s. And it's like, wait a second. This is what Rachel
just brought up. Did you start this season being like, I am ready to be serious right now?
100. He definitely said that. And I think that's too bad, you know, that he got to the end.
And he was like, oh, well, this whole timeline, like Latia was saying, like I told you. I told
you about my timeline the second week. Why are you bringing it up the day before? It was his weight
of getting out of it. Yeah. Yeah, I bet. And I wonder if like the compatibility between them
in, you know, more intimate moments was made him happier with Juliana. Who knows? Okay. Maybe there was
more physical compatibility between them and he realized that later on. I don't know, but if I was
Latia, I would be pissed too because he definitely, if he said all of those things, and I
100% believe that he said those things to her, that that is 100% leading her on. And he was
like, what? Do you think that I was, did he say leading you on or misleading? Do you think that I was
misleading. And she's like, yes. You said, let's get engaged tomorrow. I know. And actually I, so it's funny
because Ryan ended up watching the last half of the show with me or the last little part, like maybe 15
minutes. And I was like, that is why you don't tell people, at least multiple people, that you love
them. Like you don't say all of these things. You have to be thoughtful about what you're saying. And
with Ryan and I, it was similar in that, well, the opposite. So I didn't say I love you to anybody
and I waited to even tell him, even though I was in love with him, until we were standing
face to face and getting engaged. Because Alex, Michelle, told me two days before the final
rose ceremony that he was going to pick me. And so I totally went into it thinking, like,
Lettia, like, I'm getting engaged today. And it just breaks.
your heart. Like Alex didn't tell me all of the rest of those things that Grant told Lydia. So I don't
and I don't, I don't claim to know what she's going through in terms of that. But I do know that
it is heartbreaking when you are thinking one thing that your life is about to change in the best way,
in the way that you hoped for when you started the show. And then all of a sudden you're like,
whoa, whoa, whoa. Is this reality? Like, what is that?
happening well he just took it a step further because now on the show you're like oh if you say
i love you um doesn't mean it's necessarily me because we've seen it before where it's not actually
that person and if you are a scholar of bachelor history and you're on the show you could know that
yeah and the but but grant really took it a step further by saying like you're the one stop the show
blah blah and i'm like totally they did they protected him yeah no kidding they did not
show any of that to us just until the very end. So, I mean, Latia will land on her feet. She is,
I feel like, the whole package. Oh, heck yeah. My gosh, I just, I love her. If they were having
Bachelorette, she would be my number one. She win. I felt more connected to her than I felt
connected to a Bachelor contestant in a while. Yeah, I loved her. Maybe, I guess Joey. I guess we all
like Joey actually I liked Joey on charity season was great yeah but I didn't like wasn't like
obsessed with like of course I'm not obsessed with Joey but like I didn't think I didn't think like wow
this is a great bachelor character until he was like announced as the lead then he like had that
haircut and like kind of a glow up and he was and everybody was making like the TikToks about it and I was
like oh I love what he's doing for the franchise um and I feel like I love what Latia has done
for me as a viewer as well.
I finally find somebody
who I'm like, no girl, you rock
and you go find someone
really, really deserving of you.
Yes, she deserves it.
And I really, really, really hope
that she opens up her heart again
because when she said that I've never said
I love you to anybody I've ever been in a
relationship with because I feel like it
opens the doors to me being hurt
or it's more likely that I'm going to be
hurt or that's going to be taken away from me,
oh, it broke my heart.
heart because I was like, she just opened up and did this and then she got her heart broken.
So I really, really hope that that doesn't dissuade her from opening her heart again.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, we have Bob coming on next.
Is there anything that you think that Bob would be especially wonderful at talking about regarding this episode?
I think the golden stuff for sure because he's met a lot of those people, you know, with you or, you know, I don't know that you were there.
But I feel like he's met a bunch of the golden people.
So I think he'll have a good insight into how that's going to go down.
And I think he'll speak his mind when it comes to how he feels about Golden Bachelor in Paradise just in general, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All righty.
Well, thanks, Trista.
We're going to get him on now.
I know he'll be so good.
Oh, yeah.
Trista, thank you so much for all of your thoughts.
Of course. Thanks for having me. Bob, hello there. Well, hi. Hi. How are you?
I am great. How are you doing today? I'm doing fine. I wanted to ask you because Trista told me that
you would have some interesting insight into this announcement that Paradise is going golden.
So yes, I'm actually very excited about this. And I think, you know, I've had some conversations with people
where they think it could be a little gross.
I think it could be a little awesome.
You know, I mean, I love the Golden Cast.
I spend a lot of time with them.
And I feel like there's a couple people there in particular
who will be really fun and make it very memorable.
So, you know, I don't know.
I mean, what are your thoughts on?
Well, my thoughts are probably unpopular.
I just, like, I don't want more,
I don't want time taking away from the traditional paradise.
I would have liked a totally separate gold.
Yeah. Golden in Paradise.
Yeah, or at least like a separate show.
So we have two hours of traditional paradise and then like an hour of golden paradise.
That would be fun on a different day.
Usually it's like Monday and Tuesday.
So I'm down for that.
Do you see there being a possible problem with like there being a crossover couple?
Wait a minute.
Are you telling me that they're going to have Goldens on the same season with the traditional paradise people?
yes oh i thought it was going to be all goldens no no no oh boy young young ins as well
if there's a crossover couple what in the world yeah okay now i'm bothered no i wouldn't say
that i'm bothered but now i'm like i'm a little taking aback okay i'm a little taking a back um
that's interesting that's interesting okay now i see why you why there's um
I see why there's apprehension now.
All right.
So, yes, I can see the apprehension.
I don't foresee a crossover couple.
Okay.
I foresee everybody staying in their lane.
It could be cross-border flirting.
Yeah.
Yeah, I could see that.
A couple of the, a couple of the, you know, the golden guys will probably flirt with everybody, right?
Yeah.
Especially if they cast a few people on there.
I could see that.
Double standard.
It'll be sort of sweet to see if the younger guys are flirting.
with the older ladies, but it would be so creepy to see the older guys looking at the younger
women.
Yeah, there's going to need to be some camp counseling prior to arriving to that island.
And it's going to have to be like, okay, guys, look, stay in your lane.
Don't be that creepy grandpa.
And then, you know, all right, young dudes, you can be flirty and fun, but don't go, you know, don't
be ridiculous. I don't know. It's definitely going to be interesting. It's definitely going to be
interesting. Wow, I totally misunderstood what was happening here. Oh my God. Okay. I got a whole new
reboot on my thought process. I was thinking full golden paradise and I thought that'd be
awesome. But I also thought like you were saying like a conventional paradise or dare we say a
younger paradise as well. And so that's kind of what I was thinking was two separate shows running at
the same time. I didn't realize that they'd be running at the same place at the same time.
That could be interesting.
It's unclear how they will handle who's staying where, and it'll all be at a new resort.
So what's your general takeaway?
You know, I mean, okay, I feel, I watched an episode that you and Ben did recently about your thoughts on not really feeling like you've gotten to know this Bachelor.
And I feel the same way.
Like I feel like I'm sort of, I feel like I like I like I like I like I like them.
I like what I know, but I don't feel like I've gotten to that next level where I feel like
I know this dude.
Super nice guy.
Yeah.
And so I'm hopeful, you know, I'm hopeful about this one that it all works out.
And, and, you know, I mean, I was, I was hoping for that union.
I was hoping for the two of them to end up together.
You were hoping for Juliana.
I actually was.
Yeah.
And I know that I think I was, I was a rarity there as well, right?
It wasn't everyone sort of.
But see, here's my, here's my thought process.
Like I feel like, you know, what's old as new again, right?
And what The Bachelor did on this particular season was, I think was what they used to do back in the early seasons where they always make you think the runner up is going to be your, you know, the final rose recipient.
And so you, by edits, by everything that you're watching on the show, you're like, oh, it's obviously going to be Latia.
Whereas I, on the other hand, was like, I feel like this is an old school bait and switch move they're doing to me.
I think Juliana is the one that he's vibing with.
and they're trying to make me think it's the other one, L.
And so I was sort of like banking on Juliana.
And I do think they have like, you know, here's what's going to be tough, right,
is that every season, and we know of one in particular very well,
that ends with the guy saying he loves both women.
He's already done his rant about it today.
Yes, yes, yes.
But I understand it.
Like, I really do understand it.
And I don't think people who don't go through a show like this could,
possibly understand it, that how is it at the end of the season, I end up saying, I love you
to two different people. I will say on my season, I definitely had very strong feelings for both
of my final two. And so I almost did the opposite, whereas, you know, because of my fear of
emotional commitment at that time, I like put the brakes on completely and didn't propose
anybody, right? Was that the right answer? I don't know. But you see these people that go
through this experience, and at the end of it, they're like sitting there really torn between
to people. And it doesn't seem like that should be the case that anyone would have that kind of
feeling. But when they do, you know, and then they make their decision, I feel like maybe that
gives them a better chance of, you know, they've been through a little bit of trial and tribulation.
They had to make a decision that wasn't obvious. And, you know, I mean, I always think about
for me, you know, I mean, I was unlucky in love until my wife now. And, you know, I, when we first
were together, I remember thinking, well, this is just going to be casual.
because I don't want this, you know, to, I don't want to be in a serious relationship.
And, you know, the whole time, like, jokingly, 12 years later with two children.
And she's always like, yeah, we got two casual kids.
We spent 12 casual years.
She messes with me.
But, you know, sometimes I feel like maybe people go through that challenge early,
and then they end up on the other side of it.
And they're so thankful they went through it, you know.
And, I mean, I don't know.
I think that there's something to it.
I don't know if you're outside of the circumstance of the Bachelor,
aura, does that argument stand? No, it doesn't. But, you know, in these circumstances, maybe it
does. Bob, I appreciate that perspective, because it is different than what us ladies have been
talking about earlier in the episode. So thank you for that. And I get it. I think if I'm a lady
and this dude is told, and I have to watch this finale where I know I'm going to be the one with
the ring at the end of this thing. And I see him telling another girl the same thing he told me,
I would lose my mind. Yeah. Bob, thanks for joining us. We're going to get
It's Susie on here next, and we'll see her take on all of this.
I'm excited to hear it.
Thank you for having me, Ashley.
Always a pleasure.
Enjoy Mexico.
Bye.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his younger.
professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting
we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now hold up, isn't that against school
policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's
former professor and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists
there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person
to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's
boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive financial

Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency, and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Pull that, turn this.
It's just...
I can do it my eyes close.

Hey, sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance, bro,
tell you how to manage your money again.
Welcome to Brown Ambition.
This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards.
If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards,
you may just recreate the same problem a year from now.
When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates,
I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan.
starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because
they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive
in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card
debt when it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice
and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it.
And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment-free money advice,

My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello, Ed.
From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin.
So, like, it's not like...
What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago.
I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different.
On stage stood a comedian.
with a story that no one expected to hear.
Well, 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family.
And then he came to my house.
So what do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club?
A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage.

Susie Evans is joining us now. Susie, you were the winner of a season in which the lead said,
I love you to multiple people, led on multiple people you might want to say.
How does it feel being in Juliana's shoes now?
Oh, I had so much empathy for.
her last night and
compassion for both
of them because
it was just, it was so sad
to watch her because you're like watching Latia go through
this and you're like rooting for her and you're like
Grant's the worst. Oh my God. How did he do this?
And then
you see that he also like has
a strong relationship with Juliana
and he loves her too and that
she's this beautiful kind person and like
she just, yeah, it's so
complicated. It feels like
it feels like shit if I'm being honest.
Like I remember that feeling and it's like, okay, nobody wants to celebrate us.
Nobody wants to, you know, embrace us.
Like we came off and we felt, me and Clayton felt like the rejects of like Bachelor
Nation for a long time, to be honest.
And it's like, it's a really hard position to be in, but it's tough.
I'm like, I just sent her a message before getting on here.
Like you did amazing and, you know, I'm here for you.
Oh, that's sweet because yeah, that's my issue.
It's like, I'm sorry, Juliana.
absolutely nothing against you. I'm just not thinking about you today. I'm just thinking about Let's
I know. I know. Yeah. That was like the press, little press thing we did after our season every,
it's like we joined us like, okay, we're the happy couple. And it's like, so Gabby and Rachel.
And I was like, oh, we're not going to talk about Clayton and I. Okay, cool, cool. Like it's,
it really is like, you know, that's just how it goes for the, in these scenario specifically,
I think. You saw Clayton last night. You were in the audience. Yeah.
Yeah, we sat like kitty corner to each other.
He's right behind me.
How long has it been since you guys saw each other?
I think I saw him last summer.
Okay.
So it's not like super awkward if you guys get put together in a moment like that.
We talk so much shit.
Literally, the producers were like, hey, like, is Clayton's going to be there?
I don't know.
And they texted him.
And I was like, oh, my God, no worries.
And he wrote back, it was like, she's the worst.
Don't sit her by me.
And they're like, oh, God, what's going to happen?
He's like, you guys, I'm kidding.
we're fine.
That's hilarious.
Yeah.
So what do you think about the fact that they seemingly, I want to say that they kind of, they protected,
they protected Grant by like having a panel with Clayton on there just to kind of show like,
hey guys, this happens.
Sometimes people are really confused at the end and they say, I love you to two people.
And then they also didn't show us a lot of the times that Grant had said really affirming things to Latia.
I know.
Well, that's the hard part because as much as I do want to celebrate Grant and Juliana, I also am like, realistically, it felt messed up, like watching it.
And it's just really complicated.
but I do have a lot of compassion because I know like firsthand I read Clayton's journal.
He literally, we sat down and he like like showed me the pages of his journal where he like genuinely thought he was in love with three people and was so confused.
And so I obviously don't know the position grant was in.
It seemed like he was like Julia or you know, all in on Latia.
And then it seemed like there was a switch up.
I don't know.
but I think the show
I mean to an extent I feel like people didn't embrace this season
entirely which I feel like Clayton went through that same thing
where like from the get-go like people weren't really like
into it and you have to have something to root for
and we don't have a bachelorette season
so we don't so Latia's just going on to the world right now
so it's like you got to root for somebody so they're really like
they have to do something and I think Grant is a good person
And I do just think he was confused.
So I think, yeah, I think the panel was a good idea because it is true.
Even like Charity, who I think is like so respected and so like she's, you know, just this great person and Bachelor nation that people like look to and are like, oh, she's like, her relationship is working.
She's a good human.
But she told to people that she loved them too.
And she's like, it is very confusing when you get to the end.
I know.
I know.
I just feel like it was, I know that I feel like a broken record.
we've been recapping this episode for like two hours now and I just keep coming back to the fact that like Clayton even he had he was a very flawed bachelor but he seemed to be like wrecked over his decision making and like you know we had like these huge emotional moments from him yeah and with Grant it was just kind of like okay here's my decision I was hard yeah we didn't we didn't get a lot of emotion from Grant
I yeah you know what I thought that too I felt like there wasn't a jump the fence he wasn't saying I'm so broken we didn't get sat but I will say and this is just me looking at the at his face he looked sick to his stomach the last like two episodes I know and like every time I would see him I was just like he either has a stomach bug or like he has major anxiety so I've been there and I know that feeling because his
face just looked like he just looked unwell even when he was like talking to both the girls I was like
he doesn't look good but I don't know if that's because he was like so stressed about it but yeah we
never saw this emotional breakdown but then I'm also like some people aren't like that it's probably
what it was he probably was very vocal about his anxieties that's true but I know I mean you're a
crier I'm a I'm a baby so it's like I can't relate I'm like I would
literally be in shambles.
Maybe that's why I'm so weirded out by it.
Yeah.
It just keeps it all in.
I can't relate.
All right, Susie.
Any final thoughts about this season?
Oh, man.
I guess just like, my thoughts are like to everybody.
I'm like, be kind.
It's like, it is so hard to be in that position.
It really is so hard to be on such a public platform and not feel like people want to
celebrate you or your love.
And like, you know, I hope that it's the right.
they're the right match you never know but if nothing else i hope that they're both okay and
hope that people are nice to them online for the most part you know you can give grant a little bit
of a hard time but like but don't give juliana anything she's she's a princess oh yes this
juliana is 100% out of this equation that's fair glad that they're moving to boston to be
close to her family because i just think that was a non-negotiable i love that yeah yeah and i would
love a follow up with her dad to see like what he really thinks after watching this season
Yeah, it's painful, I'm sure.
Yeah. All righty. Well, thank you, Susie, and thank you to everybody on this panel,
and thank you all out there for listening to us Recap Grant's season. And up next,
we have Bachelor in Paradise, which, Susie, are you going to be there with Justin?
Oh, gosh. We'll throw Clayton in, too. Why not? Let's all go.
Oh, both of them. I know that you and Clayton won't ever, that's not a reconcilable path, I don't think.
But with Justin, I think that would be some big emotions there.
I'd be sick to my stomach.
Yeah, I think everyone has big decisions to make, I'm sure.
And I think I'll see you all there.
You think so?
Yeah, I think so.
All of you.
All three of us.
All three of you.
It's call it X on the Beach.
I like that.
All righty.
Yeah, let's call it Bachelor in Paradise meets X on the beach.
See you guys.
Bye.
