Hi, everybody. Welcome back to the most dramatic dance floor ever. It's your host, Trista and Deanna. And this week was dedication week on Dancing with the Stars. And holy tearjerker. Right. I was like crying through the, okay, so I have to say I'm like hooked on dancing with the stars now. Like maybe it just took me a few episodes. But this week, I was like, oh, yeah. Like I get it. I get it. It was like, it. It was like, it.
This week's episode was so beautiful.
Just all of like the, just the memories and the dedications and seeing everybody close to.
And obviously, it's everything that I want to see.
Our producer, Heather, predicted Julia Stiles.
I loved seeing.
Yeah, I just like, I loved it.
Trista.
I loved it.
I thought about crying.
I didn't because I think I'm cold and dead inside.
But, like, I thought about it.
Oh, I was crying.
I even, I posted on my Instagram story.
And Blakesley was at dance and she came home.
she was like, mom, like, what is wrong?
Like, you just posted, you were crying over dancing with the stars.
I'm like, yeah, because it was really sweet and sentimental and sad and just so powerful.
Like, I love Dedication Week.
And I feel like we both like it because we're sentimental people, but I just every single dance.
So we're going to get into it for sure.
We had so many things going on.
I mean, our first tens, we had lots of surprises, Trista.
Lots of surprises.
There is a baby coming.
We're having a baby.
The fact that they did a gender reveal on dancing with the stars.
We're having a baby.
I can't.
It was so epic.
So freaking epic.
Okay, we're going to get into it because I know we have a lot to cover.
And I want to say Kim Johnson was the guest judge.
I love Kim.
Should I have known Kim Johnson?
You have never watched the show before, so you shouldn't have.
She has been on, she's a champion twice over.
And she is just a beautiful human being.
And I thought she was a perfect choice for dedication night because she's a mom.
She's like, she just has a, a,
kind heart and
and she knows what she's doing.
So I loved that they brought Kim back into the ballroom.
She actually married her partner, Robert Hershevec.
He is one of the on Shark Tank.
They were partnered together and they are since married and have had,
I think they have twins.
She was the pro.
He was the celebrity and they ended up married.
I'm pretty sure they were partnered together.
when I, if I think back to watching. And I know he posted, he popped up. Yeah, they were, they were partners
together and they got married because their chemistry was just, you know, palpable. And they fell in love.
I love when love works out that way. Like, it's just meant to be. You know what I mean? Like,
sometimes I feel like we get off, off track with our path, but sometimes it's just meant to be. And like,
they just needed to meet on dancing with the stars. You know what I mean? And that's their story.
Okay, so last week we talked about how, like, I conjectured that Ezra was going to be first because he was last the past two episodes before, which I thought this is really strange. I had talked to Danielle Fischel's husband about it. We both were like, this is weird. Like, why are they putting him at the bottom or at the last spot two nights in a row? It's just not, I don't feel like that.
that's normal. And, and I was like, I think he's going to get the first 10. He got the first 10.
It was so exciting. I was so happy for them. That dance just like out the gate I was crying.
And you know this. I love him. I love his family. We got to meet his mom and his dad.
His mom is so sweet. And then to hear him share about how she pretty much did everything.
Those old videos when they go back,
to her, like, telling him to walk when she gets the...
I was just like, oh, my God, it's the sweetest.
It has a mom, right?
You know what I mean?
That pulled on all of my heartstrings.
And then to see her show up for him and just, like, the pure joy, we know this as mothers,
the pure joy and excitement and just pride, you know what I mean?
She was beaming.
I loved that.
I loved that.
You could feel how special it was for her to be in the ballroom.
I'm looking at my notes from last night because I had to take notes.
on my notes app because I was like, I'm not going to remember everything. I need to take notes.
But you can tell, like I, so I was scrolling this morning. And do you know the podcaster Jay Shetty?
Yes. Yeah, I love his podcasts. Yeah.
Yes. He had Ezra on and he shared this letter that Bahaar had written to, Bahaar and her husband had
written to the parents of his elementary school when he was starting kindergarten.
I have cold chills. Trista. I literally like, I'm like, I know.
already I'm like dying. I love it. I know. And just the support for him and they're like,
everyone has challenges, like whether they're physical or emotional or intellectual or, you know,
all of, everyone has challenges. His are physical. And we're not letting that stop him. We,
we don't want the baseline to be moved for him. You know, he, just the support. And I was literally,
really thinking, was I a good enough mother? You know what I mean? Like, she seems to be just,
they seem to be an incredible parent. What did she say? You walk into every room with your hand
held high. It doesn't matter about your foot or your hand or anything. Like, you don't let any of that.
You walk into a room with your head held high. I was like, good job, mom. Good job. I say it to
Addison. I'm like, we choose flame keepers, not flame blowers. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like I'm just
trying to like make good humans here. And like his mom,
His mom did a great job.
Like when he was crying, talking about his mom, I was like, oh, yeah, you did it.
I hope she, like, puts her head down every night and is like, I did it.
I did it.
He's a good person.
Totally agree.
And to be able to dedicate the dance and have her be part of it, that's why I love this
night so much, is just how special it is to be able to dedicate the dance on dancing
with the stars, share the stage with you, welcome you on into the ballroom, like, onto the
ballroom stage and be able to express that love and appreciation in front of the world is so
meaningful and they freaking crushed it. Danny's choreography was amazing. Like when she climbed up,
I was like, people are going to be doing that. I was just like blown away with the choreos,
oh, this is what I wanted to say. You cannot tell. If you're not specifically looking at his prosthetic,
you cannot tell that he has a prosthetic. No.
he moves very elegantly on the dance floor.
I almost forget that he,
oh God,
I don't want to sound like an idiot
with what I'm going to say,
but like I almost forget
that he has a prosthetic the way he moves on a dance floor.
Yeah,
no,
I don't think you sound like an idiot at all.
I think he is proving that your physical challenge
really don't mean squat.
Like get up,
get moving,
like show the world that you can do it
because you can.
He's proving that.
I just, I am blown away by his abilities, especially because of his physical challenges.
You know, he is my favorite.
I'm going to say it again.
He's my choice for a winner.
There is no doubt in my mind that he will be in the final.
I have a very strong opinion that he will win, and I think that he deserves to win because he
is throwing all of these, like, you know, judgments aside.
I'm blown away by them.
partnership. When I watch the show now with friends of mine, they act like I'm this expert now because
we're doing this podcast. So what do you think? And I'm like, I know absolutely nothing. But Trista believes he is
picked to win. So he's going to win. Like she's the expert. I'm just here for keeps. You know what I mean?
But like it's fun to watch it with other people because now I feel like, because of you and our producer,
Heather, I have so much like insight now on the show. And I saw it last night, Trista. When he danced,
I was like, oh, yeah, you guys might be right. He might be in.
minute for the win. Oh, gosh. I hope so. I think he deserves it. And I just love their love for each other.
The partners, Danny and him. Their chemistry, it's really, every bit of it is beautiful. They got a 37 out
of 40 last night. I mean, that's, that's like really great. Yes, it is.
Like, I was like, oh, my gosh, I have been waiting for tens and perfect scores and all of this thing.
It just kind of like makes the excitement there with the show. For sure.
I do think that he should have gotten more than 110, but that's okay.
I think that the everyday judges, not Kim Johnson, were like holding back so that they could give their tens, you know, maybe if someone did better.
I don't know who could have done better, but I felt like he deserved.
He definitely deserved the 110.
I thought he deserved more, but that's okay.
I think he's fine.
I don't think that that matters for next week.
I am, I am hopeful.
Love, love, love, love, love, love.
Love love. So much love. So much love.
Okay. So Tatiana was next with Jan. And this week, she dedicated the dance to James Avery, who was the dad on Fresh Prince.
He acted like a father figure to her. And to Alphanto, who she brought into the dance, which I thought was so special.
Trista, I literally almost shed a tear. This one really pulled at my heartstrings. I guess because, you know, it's my era.
I grew up watching Fresh Prince of the Bel Air, and they looked like a family.
I love that you just called it Fresh Prince of the Bel Air.
Oh, yeah, Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Such an old lady.
Such an old lady.
Fresh Prince of Bel Air, people.
Get on board.
I grew up watching this show, and they always looked like a close-knit group of people.
You know, some people you just get it on set.
They don't mesh well, whatever.
And, you know, it's interesting to see some, you know, succeed more.
than others. But I thought this moment was so special and the fact that she brought him in to dance with
her. And she sang the song. That was her recording the song. And she was incredible.
And she was paying attention to all the different aspects. And I thought that was really special.
I agree. And I thought she did a great job. I actually wrote, Tatiana is growing on me.
Me too. She's so well spoken. She's so kind-hearted, it seems, and so, like, funny. She has a great
sense of humor. Her energy is so chill, Trista. I'm not so sure I would be that chill,
but like every time they see her, they show her like in her back, her back package,
backstage package. That what we call it. Right. And even on the dance floor, her energy is so
chill. Like I want to grow up and be just like her. She's, I love her. She's definitely,
she definitely grew on me last night. And, you know, I don't know how much longer she'll be around,
but I do enjoy, I am enjoying watching her more and more.
Me too.
Well, she did great last night.
She got all eights.
I mean, she got a 32 out of 40.
Like, I thought that was very fitting.
I thought it was well deserved.
I thought it was a great score for her.
I enjoyed every bit of it.
Totally agree.
Totally agree.
It was their best score of this season.
And I thought it was very well deserved.
So, yes, I love Tatiana, and I love that she brought it in Alfonso.
Okay, Mora was next.
and she has been one of my front runners.
I thought it was really interesting that she dedicated her dance to Ireland,
to an entire country, which, you know, I think that's hard.
Like, that's, that is really an incredible thing to be able to dedicate it to, like, you know,
a country full of people who are watching you and supporting you.
I just felt like maybe the dedication to the personal people who were able to be in the routines
with the celebs and the pros were just, they came across as a bit more special to me,
a bit more sentimental.
Not that her, not that the thought of her dedicating this dance to her entire country
of origin was not special.
But I just, you know what I mean?
Like, I just, it wasn't necessarily as personalized as, I think that the others who have gone before her so far in the show, it really touched our heartstrings.
I actually really love that she dedicated it to Ireland because she is so Irish.
Yeah, totally.
It's so much a part of her.
I actually feel like, Trista, I would have been more confused if she dedicated it to someone or something else because I don't know that as a viewer, I know a lot about her personally.
but I actually kind of really love that she dedicated it to, you know, her people.
She's very Irish.
Like, I think that's super cool.
Yeah, no, I do.
I thought it was really cool.
I just felt like compared to the others that it just didn't land as special as some.
I will say also that, you know me, I have been a fan of Mora since the beginning.
I have felt like she is just showing off.
You know, like not showing off in an egotistical way, but she is really stepping up to the plate
and showing all of us that even without any dance background, she is a beautiful dancer.
I don't know that the tango was my favorite dance for her.
No, sorry, I don't know that the Pasadoblae was my favorite dance for her.
I felt like her footwork was just a little, not sloppy is not the word, just not on, it wasn't
clean.
So maybe it was sloppy.
I don't know, the opposite of clean.
And it was really interesting to me that none of the judges said anything about her technique.
You know, like, I don't know.
I was like, wait, what's happening?
Because usually Derek would, Carrie Ann did point out a lift.
And she does attack all of their notes that they give her every week.
I feel like she's super passionate at the beginning.
I loved how they started with Mark behind her and kind of like peeking around.
I thought that was really powerful.
But technically, I just felt like it wasn't her best dance compared to the other dances in frame where she is perfection.
And we know she does that so well.
We have talked about until we're blue in the face, how beautiful her arms and her hands and the placement of each.
But like we've talked about that.
It was nice to see her do something else because we have seen her.
do that from week to week, you know, different dances and look so perfect with her,
with her hand placement and everything else. You know, it's interesting that you say all of that,
Trista, because I'm with you. But the scores don't necessarily reflect that. She got very high scores.
She got all nine's and one eight from Carrie Ann. She got a 35 out of 40.
I was shocked that she did better than Tatiana, to be quite honest. I felt like it didn't
the nines didn't really land for me in this episode.
I felt like she's deserved her scores up to this point
and maybe even deserved higher scores in the past.
But I don't know.
I was like, oh gosh.
And then after watching the rest of the show,
I was like, oh, I really hope she's in the finals
because I do think that she is showing all of us
that what it looks like to be a non-dancer transformed into a dancer.
So I think she deserves it.
But I just felt like the nines to me.
I don't know.
Just they weren't as deserved this time.
I still love Mara.
But yeah, that was just, that was my take.
Okay.
Jackson and Emma are up next.
And last week, it was considered a breakthrough for them.
and he dedicated this dance to his mom.
I thought it was really sweet that she was on the stage too,
the same kind of thing.
Like, I feel like this was like a Mother's Day episode.
I mean, for moms everywhere, I'm sure we're all like,
oh my God, like I hope my child, you know what I mean?
Like for moms everywhere,
because it is one of the best yet most selfless jobs
that you will ever have.
So for moms everywhere watching,
were we all on the same page with these?
You know what I mean?
It was the sweetest.
It was absolutely the sweetest.
So sweet.
And I did notice, you know, in the beginning,
Julian, or maybe it was Alfonso,
said that, you know, they will be judged,
you know, the judges will be judging them,
but they will not be judging the people who are guests
on the ballroom floor.
Could you imagine?
No.
You have people to break.
I'm sure people would have been like,
yeah, no, this is really special,
but I am not getting on that dance floor.
But I also thought for the people that showed up with our celebrities, they did a great job.
None of these people are trained dancers except for Jenna and, you know, in Harry, right?
What's his name?
Shum.
Yeah, to have their family, their moms, whomever it is, show up and be able to like do a little bit of dance.
I hope that they all did such a great job.
But that goes to credit the pros.
You know what I mean?
Not only are the pros doing this with our celebrities and teaching them to dance and become what looks like a professional dancer, but now they're taking their family members of their friends who are coming in for what, like one week to practice? And I thought they all did such a great job. Like that's, to me, that's really cool when you watch this show. I totally agree. And it's funny that you say that because knowing the timeline of things to happen, like,
in my season, and things have changed a lot since season one.
Yeah.
But you know, you start practicing the dances for the week, the next week,
not right when you finish.
You're already practicing.
I have a feeling that they probably had already called the people that they were
dedicating their dances to.
Like, Guillermo probably had already made that phone call and started,
they started already choreographing.
the numbers, you know. So I feel like they probably gave them a little bit, you know,
extra time in terms of it's, it doesn't happen like the second that you finish the episode on
Tuesday night. I think they probably have just a little, who knows if it's a day or what,
but I think they probably had already made those phone calls. Well, we're going to give them props
where it is due because, you know, could I do that? I'm really unsure. But either way,
they all look great out there. This has been my favorite episode.
episode so far. Same. Same. Okay. So he got, Jackson got 32 out of 40. It was the best score that they
had received yet, but they were at the bottom of the leaderboard, which I feel like, you know,
as we were texting last night, I think it's either between Jackson or Connor to go home. That's
going to go home next. Yeah, next week. And there are two celebs that will be leaving next week because
they didn't, oh, actually, we don't need to go there. We're not going to talk.
about that yet just yet. But yeah, two celebs will be going home next week. And I'm wondering if it will be
Jackson and Connor. We'll see. Yeah. I feel like as we're starting to see these dances get really
good and the scores get bigger, like it's now like we're weeding out like the best from,
from, you know, the good, you know? I hate even saying that because they've all done a really
great job. But like now we're getting above the bar with the dancing. Totally. And I think you can
see the difference is becoming more and more expensive. Yes. Yeah, totally. Totally.
Totally.

I'm Melissa Jeltson, and in my new podcast, what happened to her, I'm bringing you new stories
and conversations every week.
Stories about women whose deaths were too quickly ruled a suicide.
She was starting to get worried and get scared for her safety.
Stories of survival.
The only difference between me and her, frankly, was a little bit of luck, because by all rights,
I should be dead.
Cases that everyone else called closed.
They can't convict her, right?
Like, she has so much evidence.
These stories all start in the same place,
with a woman failed by a system that didn't believe her,
that didn't protect her, that didn't see her.
No child should ever experience that.
And we were babies.
She did all of these brave things and came out and spoke about it,
and he got a year.
You never know who that devil is because he's wearing the disguise.
Sometimes it's a police uniform.

For more than a century, Miss America sold the country of fantasy.
Well, are you ready, ladies?
Okay, here we go.
But over the past decade, the crown's been slipping.
They said goodbye to swimsuits.
Now, hello to lawsuits.
I'm Bridget Armstrong.
Last season, we took you inside the world of America's next top model.
Now I'm back with season two of this podcast, Curse of Miss America,
investigating the rise, fall, and uncertain future of one of America's most iconic institutions.
The Miss America pageant.
I never received scholarship money to pay for my student loans.
He looks and he goes, you don't look like you suffered an eating disorder.
It's great, but looks too ethnic.
It's a story the Miss America organization really doesn't want us to tell.
An exploitation of our Miss America's is treated by the Miss America organization as an attack on Miss America itself.

Evil. They look bad, bad people.
As bad as evil. Yes, definitely.
That's a clip from our newest hit podcast, Royal Swindle, about two Australian lovers who conned their way through British high-is
In 1996, they arrived in London and won over wealthy businessmen, England's horse-loving elite, and even the Queen, all while conning people out of their fortunes.
This short lady comes in, we barely see over the counter.
Everything about has screamed, I'm not an international banker.
It's a story of love, lies, and, yes, horses, told in part by one of the women who lived it.

But whether I've been in or not, I don't know.

Goodbye.
From Pushkin Industries, I'm Jonathan Goldstein, and this season on heavyweight.
Jade questions the confession her grandmother made just before she died.
She said she is the Mrs. Jones and the...
famous song, Me and Mrs. Jones.
And Dan wants to know how he was hired by a professional baseball team
when it was so obvious he lied his way in.
I came up with fake batting averages.
I said I hit 401, 415, and 310.
That's really good.
But I didn't do that. I made it up.
This season, we risk life and limb to get answers.
It seems like maybe we should have brought hazmat suits.
Answers to life's biggest questions.
Sorry, are you eating something?
Yeah.
What are you eating?
What difference doesn't make.
All the difference in the world.
Sorry, are you eating something?

Our next couple.
Trista, I love this.
And I will have to admit, I was not on board at first in our first couple of episodes.
But Amber and Pasha were like, blew me away.
last night. And listen, as an athlete, you know what I mean? Like, she showed promise from the first
episode. I just don't know why I didn't jump on board at first, but like last night, I am like a
full-blown, like, fan-girling out over here. It, for me, this was the best dance of the night. And I have
so many people on this show this season that I am really attached to because I like, I have this
like emotional attachment from like childhood or something. But yeah.
Last night, Amber and Pasha, like, blew me away.
I am huge, huge fans now by their dancing.
I just, I love it.
I love it.
Same.
I wrote down that may have been one of my favorite dances on Dancing with the Stars
ever.
Like, ever.
Yes.
And not just because, like, yes, the choreography was amazing, the execution of
the choreography was amazing. But also, something that I love about dance is that it tells a story.
Some routines tell a story. And they pull you in emotionally. They evoke an emotion.
This was such a clear story on the dance floor. Like, I don't think we even needed to see the package
to know that she went through all of this stuff. If we hadn't even seen the package, right,
and known all of the struggles that she went through mentally and being admitted to a mental health facility and going through.
I have my second set of cold chills right now.
Trista, I'm like, oh, my skin is crawling.
I love it so much.
No, I don't love it that she went through a month.
Obviously, we don't love that part.
But the fact that she's sharing it, we all love that story that comes full circle.
We love that.
I know.
And the fact that her sister was basically there to save.
her life and remind her that she was worthy and she mattered and it was just so freaking powerful.
That's why I love dancing because it evokes emotion and she executed it perfectly.
That part of the dance where he was holding her upside down and then he flipped her out of it
and she stuck it, like stuck the landing.
I was like, that's going to be repeated on social media today and like all this week.
I was blown away and same as you.
And maybe you thought this because maybe I was,
I've been outspoken about it.
I know I have been outspoken about it from the beginning.
But I hadn't really connected with her.
And like there were little things like her feet and her,
you know, those kind of things.
Obviously she's an Olympian.
Like she's an incredible athlete and she has the talent.
But I thought last night's, last night's dance,
I'm forever now a 100% fan.
It was that softer side that we needed to see.
Yes.
It was that softer side.
Yes, I needed that.
Like, we've been talking about connection with Jenna especially and with Amber.
Like, I wanted to hear about how she's not just an Olympian, that she's just like us and she struggles.
And she obviously showed that last night.
And she got two tens for it.
Love it.
I love it. I was like, yes. And they were from Carrie Ann.
And I feel like, tell me if I'm wrong, but a 10 from Carrie and Abba, I feel like has to be really hard to get.
Like she seems like I love all of the judges, but Derek, you know what I mean, he's real technical.
Bruno is just like a party all time, all the time.
I feel like it must be hard to get a 10 from from Carrie Ann.
And last night, it just like very well deserved.
Like I was super excited about it and very well deserved.
but like holy smokes holy smokes the best scores of the season the best scores of the season and the
hers obviously almost a perfect score i was sitting in my living room and it's not like this happens
all the time i'm sitting there watching i was clapping to my television like i love it i love it so
it was a very beautiful dance beautiful story we evoked the motion that we have been like
looking for and just that connection to her that was that was needed it was really like so far
oh man it's tough i was going to say my favorite of the entire season so far but man there's been a
lot of good dances but she's on up there for me this morning uh with ezra yeah the she's in the final
too yeah for sure like like when i when i was talking about mara because she happened before amber
I like Amber definitely has squeaked ahead of Mara in my mind you know after last night I was like whoa well she absolutely should I mean she got a freaking 38 out of 40 like that's pretty close to freaking perfect yeah and then Pasha got um announced as the people magazine sexiest dancing with the stars pro and the part about it that I loved the most was Danny freaking out and like being like I told you I told you he's mine I told
They're super cute.
I guess because I'm watching the show now, they're so cute.
Sometimes their videos will roll into my feed.
And I just like to see that real life version of them.
And they're so cute on social media.
I love it.
I love love.
I love love.
Have you seen that they opened like a coffee and treats or something like that store in Miami?
I feel like it's in Miami.
And they just put out this video.
You have to go look at it.
it's so funny. It's like her personality shines through because like someone asked like a kind of
a stupid question and like the look that she's giving the customer. Like it's, I love them on social
media. I love them in person. I love watching them on my television. I love them. And I'm
really hopeful that this is her season. Like either of them. They could win and I'd be so happy.
So anyway. Yeah. Okay. So Jenna is up next. And she,
was partnered with Alan because of the drama that happened after the episode.
Do you remember in the episode?
I was like, we're going to see this play out on social media.
I do.
I do.
Listen,
you are just rocking my world because you are predicting things.
That's why I tell people, I'm like, I'm not the expert here.
Trista is the expert.
And I remember you talking about this?
And then because of our text chain, I'm like gasping, you know, separately after we
watched the episode.
So this drama we cannot avoid.
Right.
It was almost like,
Val's been on this show for a long time.
Mm-hmm.
It kind of seems like an unfortunate thing to have happened
because now I feel like it changes the taste
for me for the entire season,
which is unfortunate because Jenna is the one
who will pay the price for that.
Yeah.
Like Val will come back.
He'll have a job and he'll dance
and he's going to be just fine.
You know what I mean?
But I almost feel like,
can they really, can they really crown them champions of the season after that?
Well, I mean, here's the deal.
I was never thinking that she was going to win anyway.
I mean, I didn't even know, I've said, I don't even know that she'll be in the final.
So, you know, I guess because that's my mentality or has been my mentality since the show began,
that it's six and one half dozen the other.
Like, you know, it probably won't affect things because I don't.
I didn't think that she was going to end up in the final anyway.
Yeah.
So for the people who do not know, run it out real quickly, Trista, what happened?
You know, the snarky little comment on social media for the people who do not or might
not know about the drama.
And we'll also bring in the fact that Fresh Prince kind of stepped into the ballroom tonight too.
Yeah.
So last week, Carrie Ann gave Jenna Johnson, Val's wife, some criticism that I feel like was unexpected.
I don't think that Jenna, it was about a lift, which is Carrie Ann's thing, right?
At least mostly about a lift.
I think she gave her some other criticism during the feedback.
But Val was not happy with that feedback.
And on social media, he went on and he said, you almost saw Fresh Prince step into the ballroom.
And I think what people took from that was, it's interesting because I was talking to Blake'sley about it.
And she's like, I don't think that they.
everyone was thinking about the slap.
I think that people were thinking that he was talking about,
do you remember in the Oscars when Will Smith was saying that,
you know,
take my wife's name out of your mouth.
Don't talk about my wife.
And I think,
my effing wife.
Yeah.
I think that that's maybe where Val was coming from.
Just knowing Val,
I feel like he is so kind-hearted.
Yes,
he's going to stand up for his wife,
who,
you know, he loves more than anything in the world.
I think it wasn't as dramatic as that,
but I will say from Carrie Ann's perspective,
I would have taken it a different way
in that Will Smith stepped up on the stage
and smacked Chris Rock.
So that's exactly where my thought went, Trista.
It wasn't about what was said.
I immediately referenced the slap.
I don't always remember exactly what Will Smith said on the stage.
I remember the slap that was heard around the world.
And out of a...
serious, like, just out of, like, respect.
You know what I mean for the judges?
Just out of respect.
My guess is Val thought he was being funny, maybe.
I agree.
In a tasteless joke, that's what I agree.
That's what I probably think.
I agree.
It was tasteless.
I agree.
And then it's also, like, almost like, respect your elders.
Like, I realize Carrie Ann may not be older than him, but she's the judge of the show.
Like, have some human decency for your coworkers.
You wouldn't go to the office until.
HR that you're going to slap your co-worker.
Well, wait. So I have to back up a little bit because in past seasons, it has not always been
kumbaya between the pros and the judges.
Oh, okay.
His brother is very well known for things that he has said to the judges. And they fight back,
like verbally. They come back at the judge's comments, especially his brother. And he has said,
you know, Max is his name. And,
he has said things like,
I don't care what you have to say.
Or, you know, like things like that to the judge's face,
like after they give them feedback.
So it hasn't always been an arena where it's like
rainbows and butterflies.
Like they actually stand up for themselves.
And I was saying this to Blake'sly last night.
You know, I feel like it, and mind you,
I do have to preface this by saying,
I am fully in Carriand's camp.
Like if she felt at all threatened because of the slap hurt around the world and the
the fact that Val was alluding to that, I am very thankful that the producer stood up for her
and her safety and we're like, no, this is no, what's the word, non-negotiable?
Like this is non-negotiable.
I need to feel safe.
So I am totally with Carrie Ann and this.
but I will say that, you know, in our society, I feel like people use hyperbole a lot.
And you'll be like, oh, I could strangle that person.
Right.
You know what I mean.
And it can be very misinterpreted.
Yes.
So I feel like I know Val, but I don't know him very well.
It's not like I'm his wife or, you know, a good friend or whatever.
But I do feel like I know that he is a kind-hearted person.
and I just hope that this gets buried quicker.
And I will say last night, yes, Alan brought it up
when Alan and Jenna Dewan sat down
before they started practicing for the week.
And he addressed it, but very minorly.
Like they did not talk about this really at all last night.
Carrie Ann did not say anything.
Nobody said really anything except for during the package
when Alan addressed it with Jenna.
And they had to because they couldn't,
just be like, okay, well, I'm here to help you out, you know.
But I feel like they are hopefully trying to brush it under the rug, and I'm really hoping
that that is what happens.
Yeah.
Listen, as adults, I think it's hard to take constructive criticism.
You know what I mean?
Like, I believe that that's a skill we have to learn in adulthood.
It starts in childhood, but it's something that we have to learn.
And I would imagine, too, on a show like this where this is their, you know, expertise to be
dancing, probably at times, constructive.
criticism because I do not think that Carrie Ann was mean in what she said.
But sometimes, right, like we act like little unruly toddlers when we don't like what we hear.
And sometimes we stomp our feet and we scream.
And that results in posting on social media.
And you're like, oops, shouldn't have done that.
And then we have to deal with the consequences of our actions.
And I thought that was a very appropriate consequence that he has to sit out
for this dance. I don't think that he has to sit out any further weeks. No, it sounds like he was just
suspended from the ballroom for one week. Yeah. The unfortunate part is that I believe that it
changes for me, and maybe when we post this, right, people will let us know in the comments.
For me, I believe it changes the look of them for the rest of the season. And it probably does,
but like I, but like I'm saying, or in my mind, it wouldn't have effect.
things so much as to take her out of the final because I don't know that she would have been
in the final anyway.
Sure.
Even though she is clearly the one who showed up on the ballroom floor with the most talent
from the get-go.
Right.
She is an incredible dancer.
But I just, you know, the connection.
And last night, I was really like, okay, Jenna is who I've been talking about all season,
how I really want to connect more with her, that I want to feel.
her humanness. I want to feel the raw, vulnerable side of Jenna. And I thought, you know, it was her mom again,
which I loved. I loved that her mom, you know, and her dad and her mom split up when she was just a baby.
And that was really hard. And she, you know, showed her mom on the dance floor how much she loved her and appreciated her.
I will say it was a great dance
and she did get one 10 from Carrie Ann
her first 10 which was amazing.
Yeah.
But I will say what I noticed,
the dancing was beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful.
Alan was an incredible partner to her.
They got up to the skybox
after the dance was over
and I cannot remember exactly
what Julianne asked her.
But she didn't mention her mom at all.
So now that you say that,
and I did notice it,
I'm with you.
Did you notice it?
Yeah, was the dedication a little forced to like, was she literally, and I'm just pulling,
you know, out of the sky here, Trista, I could be very wrong.
You know what I mean?
And tell me if you agree or not.
But was it, oh, I feel even just terrible saying it out loud.
Okay, so just bear with me.
Was it a means to pull on heartstrings to get votes by dedicating the dance to her mom?
And it was not a genuine dedication.
Like, you know, some of the others that we have seen.
and talked about so far, it felt like a genuine dedication.
Was this more of a calculated move for votes?
And I feel so terrible saying it.
I feel so terrible saying it.
Well, see, I'm glad that you sensed it too,
that when she got up to the skybox,
that she really, there wasn't any mention of her mom.
And I feel like the question,
I would love to go back and hear what the question was.
because I just felt like everyone else, when they're in the skybox, has been talking about
how special the week was and they loved having their mom or whatever, their sister or whoever.
And tears, like they're crying and the pros are crying like this.
There was a real lack of emotion.
Like the connection.
Is that the right word I'm looking for?
The connection for me was lost with the dance and the person that we saw.
Yeah, it's unfortunate.
Like, I don't know if, you know, we don't.
know all of what's going on behind the scenes right so I try to give everyone the
benefit of the doubt and for her I'm wondering if there was someone else that she
wanted to dedicate it to and then like for whatever reason she couldn't and
not to say that her mom isn't a special person to her because I feel like she
is and the story is genuine but I just was like oh gosh like if she had just
mentioned her mom in the skybox I feel like I would have been like
like, that was beautiful.
And I have no qualms, like no nothing.
She deserved her incredible score, which she did.
Her frame is gorgeous, like gorgeous frame, gorgeous execution of the dance.
I love the choreography.
I just am still yearning for a little bit more connection.
And I don't know why that is, but it's just, it is what it is.
You know, I think it's also, we could absolutely circle it back with a lot of the drama
that surrounded the situation for,
from the week, you know what I mean?
And something that I want to make sure we note is that Val did make a public apology for his actions.
So I just wonder for them, for the two of them, for Jenna, you know, was it just a bit of a week?
Was it just a bit of a week?
And now they're a little bit trying to save face, unfortunately, for what happened.
Was it just a bit of a week for them?
You're right.
That is definitely something that I'm sure played into her week, is that she,
She has built up this chemistry with Val for six weeks so far.
Were we on the seventh week?
Yeah.
For six weeks so far.
And then to all of a sudden have it stop because of the drama and feeling bad for Val
and wanting him to be there and wanting, like, there's so much trust that you build up
too of like guidance and all of that.
So that wasn't there.
So I will give her that benefit of the doubt.
And she still did great, Trista.
She got her first 10 last night.
Yes.
She scored a 37 out of 40.
She still did great.
I will tell you that I was rolling through social media this morning.
And there were a lot of like behind the scenes clips of her with her pro last night, Alan,
just showing that there was genuine connection between the two of them and genuine friendship.
You know what I mean?
So like we're like nitpicking here almost as we're talking about this.
But it's something that we cannot avoid.
It has to be discussed.
She still did.
Amazing. And for someone to have to switch up in a week like that and do a dance with a new pro that she doesn't really have a background or a history with, she still did phenomenal.
She still did phenomenal. She still did phenomenal. She still did great.
I want to bring up something that you just reminded me of. So on social media after last week's episode, there was, remember how we talked about how Justin Baldoni was in the ballroom?
So there was a clip on social media. I don't know whose clip it was.
but it showed up on my feed and they were saying it was a video of Jenna Duan like going ah like
to someone in the audience right and they were saying this is the moment that Jenna Dewan noticed
justin Baldoni and they were saying that she was doing that to Justin Baldoni like saying oh my god
I love you you know I was sitting behind Danielle fischel and it was Danielle fischel who she was doing that too like literally
I remember the moment going, oh my gosh, they have such a beautiful connection.
I wonder how they know each other, you know, like thinking that in the ballroom.
And then when that video came out, I'm like, that was not about Justin Baldoni.
So you know what I mean?
Like, there's only so much that we can, as viewers, we are seeing all of these things play out.
We don't know the full story.
Like you're saying, we're in your picking and whatever.
We don't know the full story.
We're just seeing what they're showing us.
Yeah.
Well, we always appreciate.
You're behind the scenes, things and details, Trista.
You're behind the scenes with Danielle.
Now we know she was not blowing kisses to Justin Baldoni.
We always appreciate everything that you add to the conversation here.
So now we know.

She was starting to get worried and get scared for her safety.
Stories of survival.
The only difference between me and her, frankly, was a little bit of luck,

They can't convict her, right?
Like, she has so much evidence.
These stories all start in the same place,
with a woman failed by a system that didn't believe her,
that didn't protect her, that didn't see her.
No child should ever experience that.
And we were babies.
She did all of these brave things

Yes, definitely.
That's a clip from our newest hit podcast, Royal Swindle, about two Australian lovers who conned their way through British High Society.
In 1996, they arrived in London and won over wealthy businessmen,
England's horse-loving elite, and even the Queen, all while conning people out of their fortunes.
This short lady comes in, we barely see over the counter.
Everything about has screamed, I'm not an international banker.
It's a story of love, lies, and, yes, horses, told in part by one of the women who lived it.

That's really good.
But I didn't do that.
I made it up.
This season, we risk life and limb to get answers.
It seems like maybe we should have brought hazmat suits.

What difference does it?
All the difference in the world.

Okay, so Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson are up next.
Oh my gosh. I love this. I love this. I love it. I love it. Okay,
we've seen all the moms. We've seen them like honor their parents.
you know what I mean?
And the fact that he dedicated this dance to his wife of 20 years.
Like as a divorced woman, you are married, Trista, you know that marriage is not easy.
It ebbs and flows.
It's never 50.
50.
Someone's giving 80.
Someone's giving 20.
20 years is a long time to be with someone.
Like I love, love, love that he dedicated this dance to his wife, Shelby.
And what I also love is that his whole family was on the dance floor.
His parents, he started off with his parents.
And then he got to dance the dance with his wife, who is a beautiful dancer.
Yeah.
She is a beautiful dancer.
And then they brought their daughter on stage at the end.
Like, it was totally cultural.
I am cultural again.
I'm not lying.
I'm cultural again.
Oh, my gosh.
I'm like so happy.
I loved this dance.
And, but what made me so mad is he didn't get any tens.
He deserved tens.
I was like, nines?
No, I'm sorry.
What?
He deserved at least one 10.
I agree.
I agree. You know what? I found it interesting because last week we had Joe who gave some really high scores. And then with Kim, albeit I did not know who she was. I guess I just expected her to hand out some generous scoring this week. And she really, she didn't. She gave good appropriate scores. But I guess I guess just reflecting on last week, I expected her to give some pretty generous scoring. She had some really wonderful notes to say. But I guess I just wanted her to be like the generous like guest judge. The Joe Buck. How Joe Buck was.
last week how he was like oh whatever i don't care what you guys have to say i'm giving i'm giving a nine or
whatever um yes i loved this dance from start to finish i loved the choreography i really truly feel like the
ability of his wife and their chemistry and the humor in their relationship like it just
shined through um the camera i loved what kim johnson had to say that she didn't see a hip hop
dancer in the ballroom. She saw a ballroom dancer doing a beautiful fox track. I was like,
that was perfection, like a perfect, perfect comment. And he got all nines. I really do feel like
he deserved a better score. It was his best score of the season so far also. Like we saw that a lot last
night. Everybody got their best score of the season. I was there for it. I was like, yeah, this is what I've
been waiting for. Totally. Amazing, amazing, amazing. And next up, we had Connor and Riley.
These little cutie pies, they're so cute, but I heard you say it earlier on in the episode,
you know, that you are seeing the time nearing for either Connor or Jackson.
And I think that, you know, as of you are watching it when you saw all of the incredible dances of the night.
And then we get to a Jackson or Connor.
I'm kind of like, huh, okay.
You know, he still did great.
we have seen improvement with him.
I just think for me, Trista, I'm all done.
I'm all done.
Yeah.
You know, it was funny because watching him this week was very different for me because
last week going to the ballroom and seeing him in person and seeing my daughter and
her friends freaking out because they love him, like love him.
It definitely changed my.
thoughts on him and I felt like I was watching him this week with more like love from my heart
instead of just like the critical dancer I am because they just look up to him so much. So I saw
that love through the girl's eyes, you know. I will say the story of his father and how he has
battled lymphoma. Just oh wow. I was just going to say the same thing. I love to see everyone,
you know, dedicate to their moms, but I love that he dedicated to his dad. And there was,
there was this moment for me that was very fitting for my own life. You know, he talked about how
his dad still attended all of, all of his tennis matches. And I thought of that because when I
tell people about my mom, you know, she passed when I was 12. And when Connor shared this about
his dad, never missing a tennis match, it like pulled on my heartstrings because I remember that,
my mom on her deathbed and she never missed a softball game.
whether she was like sitting in the bleachers or like laying down on a lounge chair,
my mom was at every single game.
And so this for me created connection and just, you know, just love that, that like unconditional love that our parents give to us.
I'm so happy he dedicated this to his dad.
Yeah.
Yeah, I was too.
I was happy to see the variety.
I was happy to hear his dad's story and, you know, his fight and his struggle that he's still.
you know, fighting hard and that he showed up. And I love that you could relate to that story.
That if you're relating to it, I guarantee there's so many people at home too who are ready to it.
Yeah, it's almost like there's this whole like part of the connection with adults, people,
children who have lost a loved one, but a parent. You know what I mean? Grief is so hard on many levels,
but just and I realize he hasn't experienced that.
whatever. I'm just the connection for me. You know what I mean? Like it just creates that bond between people,
whether you know each other or not when you've experienced the same situation and walk through the same
thing in life. But yeah, I, I like loved it. I thought he did a great job. It's just for me,
it's just when we are comparing it to the other dancers. But we have seen improvement in him every
single week. He is taking notes of the judges. He is listening to what they say. He is improving. And I love that.
I love that. He got, looks like, all eights last night. You know, that was also his best score so far, 32 out of 40. They're just cutie patooties, those two. They are. Yes. I love, I love them together. But yeah, I wonder if this will be his week next week and he'll be going home. Yeah. Okay, so next dancer, oh my God, I was crying from start to finish. I, when they, I mean, just the package alone, him talking about how he lost his mom to a brain aneurys.
And I knew that story, but hearing him talk about it and the really special moment where Sharna, you know, reached, got closer to him on the couch and put his hand on his and just the support there was, oh, so powerful.
I have cold chills again, Trista.
Oh, my God.
I was just like, I like love this episode.
I am so happy with this episode.
I like love, love it, love it, love it.
I know.
I can't stress it enough.
But like, yeah, it was really sweet.
was really sweet. One of my favorite parts, given everything that was so wonderful last night,
was like his reading over his song. They did supermarket flowers by Ed Shearin, but the letter
that he read over the music to his mom, I mean, I did not cry, but like I could cry right now.
I was like, that is just one of the most special. Oh, maybe I might cry. That was like one of the most special
things that I have ever seen really in a long time, him reading that letter to his mom while
we're watching him dance with his fiance, who we now know is pregnant with his baby. I was just like,
I love them. I love them. This story is going to go down in history as one of the best ones
ever told on Dancing with the Stars. Like truly, I feel like the fact that Tate is a beautiful dancer.
And then you have him lifting her up with her belly to the heavens to his mom to say,
Mom, we're having a baby.
I have cold chills again.
This is getting ridiculous, but I, like, loved it.
And when she, the moment where I don't know what the move is called where it kind of spins
her around and her dress opens and she puts her hands on her belly, Trista.
I was like, oh, my God, I love them.
Have you seen the picture?
It could be like me and Tate and Tyler.
like the three of us because they're just adorable.
And then he put his hands on her belly too.
I'm just like, they're so cute.
I'm so happy for them.
Seriously.
I mean, here's the picture, hold on, where, oh, gosh, it's not there.
Oh, man, I'm so mad.
There's a picture of them standing there with the lights behind them, like,
holding the belly.
It's so cute.
Oh, they're so cute. I seriously, I love them. I love this story. I love that he was able to share it with America and have a freaking gender reveal with confetti blasters, blasting peak confetti. They will have that for the rest of their lives. Like when this baby girl is born, they're going to be like, baby, we've revealed you on dancing with the stars. The percentage, what is that? Like, one percent can ever say that they did that. He is the, the,
51%, you know what I mean?
Like that was the point one percent thing.
Yeah.
Coolest thing.
It was really awesome.
So cool.
He did get a 32 out of 40, which I thought he deserved better scores.
And it is, it was a contemporary dance.
And contemporary dances are dances that evoke emotion.
That's kind of the purpose of contemporary dances or a lot of them is to evoke emotion.
And he definitely did that.
I was so thankful.
had a contemporary number for this piece because I felt like if it would have been the
PASO or something like the Samba, obviously it wouldn't have worked.
So the fact that he had a contemporary piece to be able to really bring us into his emotions
was really so cool.
But he ended up with the 32 out of 40.
He was at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Oh, and this was really weird.
Okay, so after they have a gender reveal.
I was wondering if you were going to say this.
Yes, they have a gender reveal.
It's the most special.
Like, I'm bawling my eyes out.
And then they have this cat in the hat number where people are wearing blue wigs and like, wait, what?
Like, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Like, I don't know.
The placement of that just felt a little odd to me.
Let us all cry for a moment.
Give us that moment.
Like, why didn't they cut to a commercial break there while we all sob and get our tissues?
Like, we're so happy for Tyler Cameron.
Let us be happy.
It was so weird.
I don't know.
It was weird.
And I love So she.
She is so cute.
And all of the dancers on the dance floor during the cat and the hat number were great.
It was a fun number.
But I was like, really?
It just was very unfitting.
People in TikTok are already mocking this already.
You know what I mean?
They're already like poking fun at this little, this little tidbit.
It was really, it was missed.
It was missed.
It was missed.
Yeah.
I agree.
Okay.
Last dance.
Julia and Ezra, and I'll let you take this one because since I have never seen.
Well, I've never seen 10 Things I Hate About You.
So, Ristow, we have got to do a movie night.
You didn't see Save the Last Dance.
You did not see 10 things I hate.
It was like, that was like, we say The Last Dance was really like the start of her career.
But 10 Things I Hate About You is where we fall in love with Heath Ledger.
Like this was like his breakout role.
And we all know that he has since passed.
And this, I can't believe you haven't.
Tonight your assignment is to go and watch 10 things I hate about you.
It is such a fun.
You could watch it with Blakely.
Blake's such a fun movie.
She loves that movie.
Yes, she loves it.
Teenage love, you know what I mean?
Actually, crazy love that you have.
How cute is this story?
Max, you know how they do homecoming like proposals,
Hoco proposal or whatever you call him?
He did his to Maggie, their first homecoming together.
It was 10 things I love about you.
Oh my God.
That's just horrible.
I'm like, I don't know, maybe I am a hopeless romantic.
I say that I'm not, but like those were my first sets of movies, like when I was a teenager.
And I did have a first love.
Not 16 candles or Santa Claus Fire?
No, I liked those, but it wasn't that connection that I had.
Like, I still remember watching 10 things I hate about you and it being like, it affected me.
Like it was that like crazy teenage love.
Like I had a boyfriend in high school that I dated for five years and it was that crazy teenage love, like the butterfly.
like you can't live without him and there's a scene in 10 things I hate about you where she's telling him like
I don't hate you I can't hate you like you know what I mean it's that part like that that that first time that you
experience love with someone and it's Heath Ledger we're all turned on to him and that's like his breakout
role he's so great she's so great yeah what what we have discussed multiple times is that our producer
Heather predict that she predicted that that Julia would dedicate this dance to Heath Ledger and she did
She dedicates it to her co-star.
I was just like here for every bit of it.
And at the end, when her other co-stars come onto the dance floor and they're all holding hands, most of which we know who they are today, they have had very successful careers and recognizable names.
For me, it was like nostalgia at its best, Tristan.
Yeah.
Like I was like, okay.
Okay.
This episode has made everything for me.
It was an iconic scene from the movie, Trista.
And it, oh my God, I was just like all up in all of my feels right now.
I like loved it.
It was like a cult classic and I get it.
Like if this was Breakfast Club or 16 candles or something, I would totally be buying into all the hype.
Do you know what I mean?
So I know I'm probably going to get bashed for this, but I, it just wasn't like technically.
Same as Mara.
and I have loved Mara since the beginning.
I just felt like she got all nines.
And I think that was the same as Mara.
She got all nines.
And I felt like there were technical things in the dance
that they didn't bring up because they were so,
like, because they bought into the story so much,
because they probably all are huge fans of the movie too.
I bought into the story, Trista.
I am that person.
I bought into the story.
I did not see any of the technical things that you're talking about.
I was so thrilled with her all nines.
I'll have you know that they used.
I'm just like, I was, I bought in.
I bought in.
Her hair was a throwback to the movie.
Her dress was based on her prom dress from the movie.
It was all in the details for me.
Like I sold, you sold the whole story for me dancing with the stars.
I bought in.
I'm with it.
Like I didn't even care about her feet or the timing or anything else.
You're like, whatever.
That's what I mean.
Yes.
Which is great because it was a contemporary piece, just like I said with Tyler.
But the fact of the matter is, like, I bought into Tyler's dance because of the storyline and he got all eights.
Do you know what I mean?
So it was like the cult classic definitely won out over the sentimentality.
Do you know what it means?
Yeah.
I mean, the fact that you haven't seen that movie, I'm going to have to just like text you after this and scold you.
Like, that's your assignment for the day.
Well, it's funny because Kim Johnson was saying I hadn't seen the movie and I just watched it this week.
I'm like, I probably should have watched the movie.
I'm sorry.
should go right now and watch the movie because it's amazing.
I've watched it with Addison and it's like all of those things they just they do.
Like she could have had the worst dance of her life last night and I would have still been like,
it was amazing.
They included Heath Ledger like her dance, her hair because I have such a connection to that
movie like all of those pieces.
I was like, oh my God, they're so cute.
Like that's all I needed.
Hookline and singer.
I was just like I'm going.
I hear that.
I hear it.
And you're, it's,
totally valid. It's all good.
Hello?
Radio presents the soundtrack to your October.
From spooky podcasts and chilling playlists to non-stop Halloween radio and more.
We have all the thrills and chills you're craving this season.
Press play.
I'm Melissa Jeltson, and in my new podcast, what happened to her, I'm bringing you
new stories and conversations every week.
Stories about women whose deaths were too quickly ruled a suicide.
She was starting to get worried and get scared for her safety.
Stories of survival.
The only difference between me and her, frankly, was a little bit of luck,
because by all rights, I should be dead.
Cases that everyone else called closed.
They can't convict her, right?
Like, she has so much evidence.
These stories all start in the same place,
with a woman failed by a system that didn't believe her,
that didn't protect her,
that didn't see her.
No child should ever experience that.
And we were babies.
She did all of these brave things
and came out and spoke about it
and he got a year.
You never know who that devil is
because he's wearing a disguise.
Sometimes it's a police uniform.

For more than a century,
Miss America sold the country of fantasy.
He looks and he goes,
you don't look like you suffered an eating disorder.
She's great, but looks too ethnic.
It's a story the Miss America organization
really doesn't want us to tell.
An exploitation of our Miss America's
is treated by the Miss America organization
as an attack on Miss America itself.

Evil.
They were bad, bad people.
As bad as evil.
Yes, definitely.
That's a clip from our newest hit podcast, Royal Swindle,
about two Australian lovers who conned their way
through British High Society.
In 1996, they arrived in London
and won over wealthy businessmen,
England's horse-loving elite,
and even the Queen,
all while conning people out of their fortunes.
This short lady comes in,
and we barely see over the counter.
Everything about us screamed, I'm not an international banker.
It's a story of love, lies, and yes, horses,
told in part by one of the women who lived it.
Oh, look, I would say, I'm very sorry.
But whether I've been in or not, I don't know.
From USDA audio, Blanchard House, and Exactly Right Media,
this is Royal Swindle.

Goodbye.
From Pushkin Industries, I'm Jonathan Goldstein,
and this season on heavyweight.
Jade questions the confession her grandmother made
just before she died.
She said she is the Mrs. Jones
and the famous song, Me and Mrs. Jones.
And Dan wants to know how he was hired
by a professional baseball team
when it was so obvious he lied his way in.
What difference does it?
All the difference in the world.
Sorry, are you eating something?

We end the show with them going over the leaderboard.
Amber and Pasha are at the top of the leaderboard.
They should have been at the top of the leaderboard.
Like I said, I think it was one of my all-time favorite Dancing with the Stars
dances.
And then at the bottom, we had a four-way tie with Connor, Jackson, Tatiana, and Tyler.
Like I said, my, I'm thinking that it's time for Connor and Jackson to go home next
week. They, they had us on the edges of our seats. Like, we're texting and you guys didn't have the feed
live yet. So I'm saying, oh, we're at the end of the show. And it looks like they're going to,
you know, send somebody home. And Heather was like, no, I don't think, I don't think they do that
during dedication. And I'm like, well, they're, they're getting ready to right now. Like the,
the music is like, dun, dun, done, done, you know. And then they're like, nah, no one's going home.
We're just going to send two people home next week.
So that was that was a moment that I was thankful for because I was like, how hard would it be?
I mean, how hard is it for the judges to judge this night anyway?
Who do you send home?
You can't possibly send home Tyler Sharna and their baby.
Like, you can't do that.
You can't send Julia Sears home because she dedicated to Heath Ledger.
Like they obviously cannot send anyone.
Oh, my gosh, they're dedicating it to their moms and their dads.
We can't send anyone home.
I know.
But you know what's interesting is yes, we have a four-way tie for the bottom with Connor Jackson, Tatiana, and Tyler.
But I actually, I took a picture of the leaderboard because I wanted to reference back to this.
Mora is next.
Mora had a 35 and then Julia had a 36.
She was tied with Harry Shum.
I don't know.
I'm really hopeful that Mora doesn't go home because she's not at the bottom, but she's, you know, two points away from that.
Yeah.
Three points away from that.
I do, my guess is that it will be Connor and Jackson's time.
Okay.
You heard it here, people.
I mean, I'm probably wrong, but it's fine.
No, you're not.
I don't think you've been wrong so far.
Yes, I think I have maybe, but whatever it doesn't, it doesn't matter.
It's not about right or wrong in this.
I just love watching the show.
I will say that I, even if Connor and Jackson don't go home next week, I think maybe
the week following will be their time, you know.
Next week.
is Halloween week, which is always really fun in terms of costumes and makeup.
They do such a good job in the hair and makeup department and the wardrobe department on this
show. And Shirley Ballas, Mark's mom, did you watch The Next Pro?
No, no. I don't have any clue. I know who Mark Ballas is, but I don't know who his mom is.
I'm not sure like what we're all, I'm not, what am I going to get? What am I going to get?
So Mark comes from a long line of, well, his parents were both pros.
Quirky was actually on the show on Dancing with the Stars as a pro back in the day.
I don't know that he was there for very long.
Maybe it was one or two seasons, but I believe he was a pro on Dancing with the Stars.
And now Mark is.
And now his mom is coming on the show as a judge.
And she was a judge on Next Pro, which was the show that gave us Adele, who was the pro
that they announced this season.
She was a brand new pro.
She won the next pro, which is what Robert Irwin hosted this show,
like leading up to Dancing with the Stars,
where they were trying to find the next pro for Dancing with the Stars.
And she was a judge, and she's definitely hardcore.
She does not hold back in her commentary.
She will tell it like it is.
If you have pancake hands, if your footwork is horrible,
I can't remember the words that she used,
but it will be actually fun to have her in the ballroom,
just to hear what she says because she doesn't hold back.
You know, Julian Huff, I know we're wrapping up,
Julian Huff posted a photo this week of her and her brother, Derek,
and Mark, when they were kids.
I knew that they all knew each other.
And I do, even though I hadn't watched the show,
I knew that they trained together.
But I thought that was really cute,
especially given next week that Shirley is going to be on there as a guest judge.
I thought that was so cute.
I love little things like that,
when, you know,
especially with a show that I'm just really like getting attached to.
I loved that little piece of them.
They must have been like six or seven years old.
They were such kids.
And it was a shot of them when they were just like,
they're just like cheesing like in the early 90s.
You know what I mean?
It was like, oh, they're cute.
I love the throwback pictures.
That's amazing.
And just knowing that they grew up together with Mark is just really sweet.
Yeah.
So I'm really looking forward to next week.
I don't know that any week can top this last night's episode for me.
No, this is it for me.
I'm like, I'm so.
sold. I'm sold. Although the finale. So during the finale, as we've talked about, I think I talked about it
last week or the week before, in the finale, they do a freestyle routine. All of the pros do a freestyle
routine and that are still in the finale. And the freestyles are really fun because they can
make them either really emotional and sentimental or they can make them like a huge Broadway
show performance, you know, Whitney Leave It's dance.
last year with Mark Ballas. Oh my gosh. I'm still thinking about that routine. So anyway, yes,
this was such a fun episode, such an emotional episode. We're so happy for you, Tyler and Tate,
and I'm really excited to see, oh boy, the rest of the season, I don't want it to end.
Even I'm really happy for Tyler and Tate. I know you are.
I can't.
I love it.
Okay.

Yeah.
