This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio. Hello, everyone.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Welcome back to the Almost-Tamist podcast. cast. It is Ashley holding it down today. So we got Heather, producer Heather, being my little sidekick. I always have fun with her. So last week, ABC gave fans a glimpse. A glimpse. They're not necessarily confirmed suitors for Taylor Frankie Paul, but they might be in the cast, probably going to be in the cast. So we wanted to, you know, do a little judgment, go through this list of guys, Not like we normally do, where we're like, this is age, hometown, bio, judgment. No, we'll wait for the official cast list for this. I wanted to go through a couple of these guys because, because, I mean, let's see who we think is Taylor's type.
Starting point is 00:03:44 You know, like, are these guys worthy of, well, how worthy, you know, we don't know them, so we can't call them worthy. You guys know what I mean. Let's just judge a little bit. A little light, hard judgment in this episode. It'll be fun. Don't take anything too close to heart. We're literally judging a book by its cover on this one. Exactly. Exactly. And the cover, we have basically other covers. Like we have chapter one for Taylor, which is her ex-husband, Tate Paul. And then we have chapter two for her. And that is her ex-boyfriend, Dakota. We're going off those books and judging these. this new book, the cover. I'm trying to make an analogy here. I don't know if it's working, but we're basically saying who's on the cover of Taylor's third book based on these pictures? I will say the age range is really great.
Starting point is 00:04:41 It's refreshing. There's a lot of mid-30s. Obviously, Taylor was probably like, listen, I am not dating anyone below 27. I want to say the youngest guy on this list is about 27. majority are in their 30s love that for her but we're going to go through and see if my picks are of age so the Bachelorette the official ABC Facebook put out some of these pictures and they wanted to get some reaction from the fans and here's my reaction here's Heather's reaction and Heather has some good little tidbits that I can't wait for her to get at
Starting point is 00:05:21 because she is a um she used to be in casting are you still in casting yeah i'm still in cast so she she still does casting for reality tv so some of these guys actually have familiar faces for her all right so if i'm going just based on what taylor's exes look like dakota and tate i have picked five guys in this list for her, Doug, Casey, Brandon, Lou, and Michael. And now I will go through those guys. Did you have any other people that you thought that perhaps she'd be into? There's one that I'm rooting for, Richard, Richard from Charleston, South Carolina. I think that that guy is super foxy and is giving dad energy.
Starting point is 00:06:17 he's 35 okay i was going to put him on my list but then i was like uh he may not be like hot enough so let me he's like the hottest in the bunch wait okay hold on maybe i just went by him i'll me go to doug first so wait no minute let me go to brandon first this is alphabetical order guys um they put him in alphabetical order so you can be checking it out on us weekly or on the bachelor at facebook so brandon is 28 he's from milwaukee wisconsin I again just kind of picked him because he looks like her type and then Casey is cute
Starting point is 00:06:55 he's got a good smile he's 30 he's from Nashville Tennessee Casey is the one that fans when the day this was announced fans were like oh Casey is a dead ringer for Dakota okay both these guys both her exes
Starting point is 00:07:11 have light eyes okay the fact that like Tate and Dakota both look so freaking similar in the pictures that, like, we have in front of us, it's nuts. And yes, this guy, he has a Dakota look. I think this guy's cute than Dakota.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Really? I think he's got obvious. The muscles are off display. So my guess is probably personal trainer or something in the fitness industry because those guns are. Yeah, they are huge guns. Just to like go to the gym like a couple times a week,
Starting point is 00:07:45 that's not, that's not. the muscles you get. All righty. So then I was thinking Doug. Doug, Doug, Doug. He's 28 from San Diego. He's cute. And again, has that look. You can definitely tell who they cast for Taylor. Because like these guys have a look. They have a little bit of a couple day. They have a beard, but very tamed. They have lighter eyes. Good smile. I all have very nice smiles, very nice smiles for sure. Doug's got a nice, uh,
Starting point is 00:08:24 Doug's got a nice neck. It's got like, you know what? You're not wrong. You know, I will say, so I have the tidbit about Doug. Oh, you do. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Doug is the one you have the tidbit on? Yeah. So like I was saying, I have been a reality TV casting director for many years. Full disclosure, I've never worked on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, but lots and lots of dating shows. And I actually have DMs going back to 2023 with Doug, trying to get him on TV. You wanted to get him on TV or he wanted to be on TV?
Starting point is 00:09:02 I wanted to get him on TV. Yes, because you could tell he looks like he should be. Exactly. He's very attractive. And for anybody wanting his Instagram handle, it is. underscore toned bone. But that's judgy. Like what?
Starting point is 00:09:21 Toned bone? What does that mean? Owned bone. I have no idea. Doug Mason, why that is your Instagram handle, but it is. And so I won't say what shows I hit him up for,
Starting point is 00:09:36 but they were all dating shows. And he responded to me every time that he was single. So I know he was single going back to 2020. But I will say that he turned me down multiple times because he was focusing on his acting and his modeling career. So he just wants to bang. So I don't know what has changed from 2023 to now that that is no longer. So there's two things. F boy.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Or his career is not going well enough now and now he needs a boost. Or he loves the fact that Frankie Taylor, Taylor, Frankie Paul is famous and he will immediately be dating a famous girl who will have a continuing reality show after this. Or maybe he saw the light and realized that going on a dating show does not kill either of these other aspects of your career, Doug. Maybe somebody finally showed him the light that I could not over text messaging. But yeah, I'm definitely very excited to see him on this journey because as soon as I saw this list, I went, I know that guy. I have seen that guy multiple times in my DMs. And so that's the way it goes sometimes with shows. And yeah, I'm excited to see Doug on the show.
Starting point is 00:11:10 All right. So am I. I think he might be my frontrunner right now. I think Doug and Brandon probably right now I'm going to continue down our list We have Lou Lou W-E-W Wow, I'm dyslexic
Starting point is 00:11:24 We have Lou L-E-W-L-E-W He's 32 And I was initially like I don't know He's a nice looking handsome man Like there's no doubt that this is a good face He needs to grow his hair out
Starting point is 00:11:41 He has hair but it's like short and not a good look. This guy could be really cute, actually, if he had a few inches on top. So I was like, Eh, Lou, okay. I can see that being her type. So I was like, you know, he's kind of borderline.
Starting point is 00:11:58 But then I saw Salt Lake City, Utah. And then he got on my list. He's a hometown guy. I think that it makes it for an easier process. So he's going further than I would think. What do you think about Lou? W-L-E-W? So first of all, Lou, yes, handsome guy. He, when it comes to his facial hair, not really something I like in the sense, personally, of when it's like scruffy on the neck.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Because it's hard to tell, but you can see where his chin ends and his neck begins. And it's like scrub the neck. Not really a fan of that. Scruff on the face, fine, not on the neck. Anyways. I digress. I think the Salt Lake City angle is interesting. Yes, I think that that could be a great sign for a relationship.
Starting point is 00:12:50 It's a little bit concerning to me as a fan of the show, which I mean Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, that there's no way you live in Utah and you don't know who Taylor Frankie Paul is. You don't have some sort of preconceived notion of who she is or what her background is. or you don't already know her or know her ex or know somebody connected to her. This is definitely a guy who knows like one of the exes, I would say. Thank you. This is what I think is like producers are probably being messy, producers being casting people, being like, let's put somebody in that maybe like went to her high school
Starting point is 00:13:30 or somebody that like knows her sibling or like worked for her mom or something. You know what I mean? It's like, so there's that that I'm just. like, uh, like, uh, but, um, I'm excited to see it. I think Lou out of the Utah guys in the bunch, I think that he's probably the one that could be the frontrunner of those guys. Yeah, he was the only one from Salt Lake City that I put on the list. Yeah. I also, just to be nitpicky, I don't think that this color shirt is doing him any favors. I think he really should have done something like dark green. The skin tone.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Exactly. That's why I'm like, Lou, for a casting photo, for the actual bachelorette photo, he will probably not be in that color. He will be in something else. Here we go. Hey, I'm Cal Penn. And on my new podcast, here we go again. We'll take today's trends and headlines and ask, why does history keep repeating itself? You may know me as the second hottest actor from the Harold and Kumar movies. But I'm also an author, a White House staffer, and as of like 15 seconds ago, a podcast host. Along the way, I've made some friends who are experts in science, politics, and pop culture. And each week, one of them will be joining me to answer my burning questions. Like, are we heading towards another financial crash, like in 08? Is non-monogamy back in style? And how come there's never a gate ready for your flight when it lands like two minutes early? We've got guests like,
Starting point is 00:15:09 like Pete Buttigieg, Stacey Abrams, Lily Singh, and Bill Nye. When you start weaponizing outer space, things can potentially go really wrong. Look, the world can seem pretty scary right now, because it is. But my goal here is for you to listen and feel a little better about the future.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Listen and subscribe to Here We Go Again with Cal Penn on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Crying Wolf Podcast is the story of two. Two men, bound by injustice, of a city haunted by its secrets, and the quest for redemption, no matter the price. White victim, female, pretty, wealthy, black defendant. Chicago, a white woman's murder, a black man behind bars, for a crime he didn't commit. I had 90 years for killing somebody I have never seen it.
Starting point is 00:16:04 He says the police are his friends, and then that's it. They turn on it. A corrupt detective. How he was interrogated the techniques. That's crazy. A snitch and a life stolen. They got the wrong guy. But on the inside, Lee Harris finds an ally in his celly, Robert, who swears to tell the truth about what happened to Lee and free his friend. And if you're with me, you're golden.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I'll take care of you. I'm going to be with you. You stuck with me for life. Listen to the Crying Wolf podcast, starting on October 22nd, on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The forces shaping the world's economies and financial markets can be hard to spot. Even though they are such a powerful player in finance, you wouldn't really know that you are interacting with them. And even harder to understand. Donald Trump's trade war 2.0 is only
Starting point is 00:17:00 accelerating the process of de-dollarization, which in a way is jargon for people turning away from the dollar. That is where the big take from Bloomberg podcast comes in, to connect the dots. How unusual is a deal like this? Unprecedented. Every weekday afternoon, we dive deep into one big global business story. The biggest story of the reaction of the oil market to the conflict in the Middle East is one of what has not happened. Katie, you told me that ETFs are your favorite thing. They are. Explain that. Why is that the case? And unpack what it means for you. Our breakfast foods are consistent consumer staples, and so they sort of become outsized indicators of inflation. Listen to the big take from Bloomberg News every weekday afternoon on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I live below a cult leader, and I fear I've angered her. Well, wait a minute, Sophia. How do you know she's a cult leader? Well, Dakota, luckily it's I'm not afraid of a scary story week on the OK Storytime podcast, so you'll find out soon. This person writes, My neighbor's been blasting music every day and doing dirt rituals, and now my ceiling is collapsing. I try to report them, but things keep getting weirder.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I think they may be part of a cult. Hold up, Sophia. A real-life cult? And what is a dirt ritual? No clue. But according to this person, contractors are tearing down the patio to find out what's going on with their ceiling, and her neighbors are not happy.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Well, she needs to report them ASAP. She did. And now they've been confronting her in, really creepy ways all the time. So do we find out if this person survives their neighborhood cult or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up everybody? This is Snacks from the Trabner's podcast, and we're bringing you
Starting point is 00:18:52 the horror every week all October long. Listen to the trap nurse podcast from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts
Starting point is 00:19:47 or wherever you get your podcasts. Halloween is around the corner and your favorite podcasts are serving of episodes that are so good, it's actually scary. Sex in the City meets severance when Adam Scott joins Kristen Davis to discuss the haunting relationship between Big and Natasha on Are You a Charlotte?
Starting point is 00:20:07 And 911, what's your emergency? The new episode of Call It What It Is, of course. 911 Nashville co-star Kimberly Williams Paisley joins Jessica Kapshaw and Camilla Ludington to talk about her health scare, her superstar hubbyed Brad Paisley, and her memories on the set of Father of the Bride with the legendary Diane Keaton. Oscar winner Brie Larson is a work in progress. Sophia Bush finds out why, and waltz right over to Danielle With, because Danielle Fischel has fellow Dancing with the Stars contestant Dylan Ephron on
Starting point is 00:20:36 to talk about the ballroom, the leaderboard, and more. Listen now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I want to go off what you were saying. I do think that this guy may have had a past, maybe not a past with her, but he hasn't been able to date her before, so he went on the show to date her. So I'll see. or how do you know that producers aren't going to be ultra messy and be like I went on a date with her it was amazing she didn't call me back
Starting point is 00:21:09 the fact that they don't do that more often I'm like come on now that would be so fun to watch people getting out of the limo and be like whoops I've done multiple dating shows where they did that where they did oh the same thing with Love Island this last season two they didn't do this on purpose but two people that ended up matching up had met at a club before and had like this ships passing in the night kind of relationship where they were friends on Instagram but actually never met up. So anyways, some of the Salt Lake guys or some of the Utah guys in general, I just feel like that's going to end up being a storyline. It's going to be we matched
Starting point is 00:21:47 on a dating site. You didn't end up going out with me or we know people in common or we went to high school together or something like that's going to happen. Gotcha. Love it. All right. Last guy for me Kind of looks like Tanner Tolbert. Kind of looks like Tanner and Michael Garifola had a baby. And he's 36 from San Diego, California. It's Michael. Definitely has the look that Taylor likes. And he's 36.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And it's, that's awesome. I even, one of the comments underneath the photos was like, Michael, she's going to pick him. Who is 36? six on this list usually love it i fully agree that michael i think is a frontrunner like this guy looks like a stud first of all i'm really the facial hair good notice the neck it's it's like it's coming in the scruff but he's like also taming it like he knows not to have it go down the neck but the hair looks really good great hair and like love the smile like the the crow's feet like we are all annoyed
Starting point is 00:22:58 that it works so well for men and this guy's got the very attractive smile crow speed. Yeah, he's got I'm really into the Sherpa caller. I know. I know me too. It says hi, I could live in Salt Lake
Starting point is 00:23:14 and we know that like they picked this photo on purpose. Because they wanted us to think that this guy gave cold weather vibes. I will say though it's giving headshot vibes. Oh, 1,000 percent. This is a headshot. Now, is it a headshot for, like, his lumber company, or is it a headshot for modeling? I feel like we could, he has, he owns a company in which he uses his hands.
Starting point is 00:23:41 I think he's a guy who does brawny paper towel commercials or something. You're probably right. I'm just being hopeful. Yeah. I mean, but we're into it. We're both aligned in the fact that we think Michael is, is going to be a front runner. Mm-hmm. Anyone else who I miss that you think is going to be a frontrunner? I think just based on the articles that have come out that I think, who is Lana Del Rey's ex-fiance, I think he's going to stick around for a minute, Clayton. I don't know if he's going to go far, but I think with a celebrity connection, he's not going to be going home in the first couple of weeks. Yeah, I agree. And to be honest, like his face looks like it could be her type too. They definitely cast for her.
Starting point is 00:24:36 This is so funny. I guess normally we don't know what the leads like real type is. But in this case, we have two serious exes that have been in the public eye. And they both look so similar. Well, I can also say, I don't know how many people. on the casting team normally work on a season, but I can tell you that almost everybody that I know in Los Angeles worked on this season. No way. Some capacity. I'm not even kidding that I stopped counting after like I saw six of my colleagues working on this show. So. Heather, no way. You are
Starting point is 00:25:15 coming with the tea. I love this. So many people that worked to make this season happen, not only from, because they were casting men and women simultaneously. That's what when we talked about, they kind of did the switch up and they instead made season for Taylor. They were already in the process of casting women to be on a season of The Bachelor. So they were reaching out to guys and women at the same time. So, yeah, like they had already a bunch of people that they had been speaking to by the time her announcement came out.
Starting point is 00:25:51 And then they stayed on and were casting for a couple. more weeks after the official announcement of her being on the show. Obviously, the team knew it was her before the announcement was made. So they were kind of casting to her liking already before the announcement. But yeah, a lot of really, really hardworking people on the casting side have been putting a lot, a lot of effort into this season, which is one reason I'm very excited to watch, for sure. They definitely want to be successful in the terms of like they want to. her to end up with someone because they're going to want to document it on secret lives.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Exactly. And in addition to that, the more people that are her type, the crazier of a season they're going to have, could you imagine if you walked into a room and there was like six guys that were like, so your type? Because, wow, that's a lot of guys to be your type in one room. I feel like the normal Bachelor, Bachelorette is probably like, holy shit. I'm going to actually say Bachelorette because I do think that women are. or tend to be pickier and have I'm just okay I'm also just speaking on behalf of myself if I walked
Starting point is 00:27:01 into a room and there were six guys that were my type I'd be like holy crap I was truly expecting the one if I was lucky so it'll be nuts if she actually is attracted to six and I know you started watching the show recently so you're kind of getting familiar with her she falls hard and fast and so that's going to be so interesting because if they give her such great options that are all similar and like what she's kind of looking for. It is going to be a very compelling season to watch her try and make those decisions and make cuts and eliminations. It's going to be difficult for her.
Starting point is 00:27:39 The other one that I'm going to say, because I don't think I mentioned it while we were recording, is Richard, 35 from Charleston, South Carolina. Oh, yeah. You think he's hot. So let me see this guy. I think he's the hottest in the bunch. Okay. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:27:53 scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. We talk about the rugged look. He's got that LLB in catalog looking. All right. You know what it is? He does have a good face. Totally understand what you're talking about. But he doesn't have hair.
Starting point is 00:28:10 And for me, like, I mean, he does not bald. Yeah. He just, I just like a guy who grows out their hair a little bit. Anything that resembles a buzz cut is not my fave. So would this guy cut that grows his hair three inches? then I'm like, yes, I get it. I fully agree with that. But he has your neck scruff that you don't like.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Yeah, and also he needs to tighten that up. But you know what? I'm going to say he was in between because like he's also really light in general in the facial hair, which is also not really my thing. I don't know. There's something about him. I think he looks like a former bachelor, Dr. Travis Stork. I see that.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Definitely see that in the eye area. I think it's literally one of the hottest bachelors of all time. Yeah, he's underrated, right? And I do love 35. Charles and South Carolina. I do see her with somebody from the south to Midwest to, you know, I would cut ice. We always get weary when we see the Southern California, guys. That's close to Utah, Ashley.
Starting point is 00:29:15 It's not a far flight. Southern California? Yeah. No, yeah, I know. But it's just like, you know, that they always, I always feel like they might be a little bit more wrong reasonsy. I'm also stereotyping hardcore. No, for sure, but you're absolutely right. For the most part, it's like, these guys aren't from California.
Starting point is 00:29:35 They moved California for a dream or a good-looking face. I don't know, whatever it was that got them out here. But I hear you. I think the East Coast guys are going to be at a loss on this show, for sure. I think that she really is going to take that into consideration. Yeah. already well guys that was fun can't wait to get these official pictures and see who's really on the season which i do believe is filming now i think so too i think it did start filming
Starting point is 00:30:02 yeah well i'm gonna have to i'm gonna have to stock her activity on instagram she i'm surprised that she didn't say audios but i guess it'll be obvious i know that they put out a notice last week on bachelor nation um to be a part of her upcoming group date in los angeles but that is not until the first week of November. So you know what's weird is normally they start in late September so that they can get done by Thanksgiving. They usually wrap like days before Thanksgiving. I guess they'll be going into Thanksgiving and just skipping that week.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Well, can I just say that if you want to film Utah and it's peak time, I know, right? I want to film it in the winter when there's snow because otherwise it kind of just looks like womp womp on TV. So that might be a factor in why that they're doing filming kind of later in the year is because if they're filming in Utah, which we know according to her mom that they are going to be, it'll make for a much more beautiful background when Utah is looking snowy. See, I was thinking that they could not start filming in September like usual because they decided it was going to be her. And like they really wanted. do casting just for her and they were going to have to work around her schedule so i do think that
Starting point is 00:31:23 they would probably put themselves in a pickle and they're just like all right well it's going to be a weird month to film in november december when usually the industry is like off well i think also remember the bachelor mansion renovation we know just finished finished i think that probably had a factor in too yep lots of things to think about all right guys We love us so much, so much. Until next time, I've been Ashley. I've been Heather. Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcasts on IHeartRadio, or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. Johnny Knoxville here.
