didn't make the trip because the boys are both sick but her mom and dad
have been staying with us since Halloween, and we'll be here until Christmas, two days after Christmas.
Okay, I can want up you.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that's a long, that's a long time.
I can one up you.
Oh, that's right.
You guys are in the midst of a lot of us.
Five months.
So it makes my, I'm not complaining, but if it were to have been a.
I am not complaining.
I am very grateful that my in-laws have allowed us to live in their home for the past five months.
What amazing in-laws you have.
You both have such great family.
are very lucky. Yes. I think it's just we're the four of us share a bathroom. Four of us. Two
teenagers and two full grown adults. And we share a bathroom. So anyway, we closed her in our
house today. Hey! Congratulations. Okay. That's something to celebrate. So it is. It's good. It's good. It's
good. And then we got on a plane like I literally woke up super early this morning after not being able to
sleep, of course, because we're closing on our house.
It's a lot of stress.
And it's been so exciting and stressful and all the things.
And I woke up, got the kids like up and made sure they're ready to go to school,
drove some stuff over to our new house, which is like 10 minutes away from me.
Oh, it's really close.
That's so nice.
Yes.
And then went and got on a plane, flew to LA for the live finale.
Right. So you, let's be, let's explain it here.
So you actually went.
So I came in from Detroit.
Yep.
You came in from Denver.
From Denver.
Yeah.
But you got here a super.
only because you guys went to the actual taping of the finale.
We did.
With Gary and his girls.
Yep.
I got in a little bit later than you because my only thing here was tonight, the wrap-up.
Yep.
So you were at the actual function.
Yes.
What happened?
It was amazing.
So you go there.
Yeah.
You're watching it unfold in real time.
Yeah.
I mean, you know these ladies.
I don't know these ladies.
I have met several tonight.
Oh, my gosh.
I love them.
I seriously love the golden girls.
Did you have an investment in one person over another?
You know what?
So I met them both when I came right here, a couple doors down.
And Leslie immediately knew who I was and came running up to meet with Ellen.
Ellen and Leslie were like, oh my gosh, Trista.
You know, like screaming my name, gave me a huge hug.
That's nice.
And Teresa, too, was so kind and sweet.
So I, I loved both of them.
I honestly didn't, I don't, I don't like spoilers.
I don't know how you feel about spoilers.
Let's not give a spoiler.
No, no, I'm not saying that.
Oh, no, I don't like spoilers either.
I don't like spoilers and I, I could have very well found out what it happened and I didn't
want to because I don't like spoilers.
So you want to be organic.
But I will say.
So the whole thing with how Gary says, like, you know, I can't choose.
the person I'm going to live with.
I want to choose the person I can't live without.
That came from me.
I remember you saying that's why I was left in the cutting room floor.
Shut up.
That's why I wasn't in episode eight and night.
Season four.
So we are sitting at this table having lunch.
I scoot over.
I ask him how it's going.
And we get into this conversation and that's where that advice came from.
But when we were talking, I swear.
And I have a really bad memory, as I think you know,
I have a horrible, horrible memory.
And I think that he told me, I said, so who are you excited about?
And I swear, I thought he said Faith and Leslie.
And Teresa wasn't, like, mentioned.
But that doesn't mean that he wasn't thinking about Teresa.
It's just I didn't have her on my, like, yeah, because he having to mention.
Well, and honestly, he was just in the moment, like, whatever, he said, what he said,
there's no bearing on it.
whatsoever. Because as you'll see in the episode or what people will have seen tonight is that
things grew pretty drastically for Teresa and Gary in the fantasy suite. And it changed things a lot.
I think that's why the fantasy suite is ultimately important because it doesn't matter what
goes on behind closed doors, but it totally matters what goes on behind closed doors. It could be
conversational. It could be emotional. It could be a lot of things. It doesn't have to be physical.
but I'm sure there's some of that as well.
But I think that that's probably the biggest moment
because it's the first time you're not on camera.
You know why?
You can be your genuine self.
I think it's because you can trust.
Like there's a trust element to it
that the person is being themselves.
Yeah.
I mean, think about it back to your season.
I mean, this is, you know, 20 years ago for us
when it was your season of The Bachelorette.
I mean, you're behind closed doors with Ryan,
and I can only imagine the making.
him that went behind there, but that's not what we're talking about right now.
What we're really talking about is the emotional sharing, you know, because he's an emotional
100%.
Like you, you knew he was my bunkmate in our little horrible mansion at the time, not nothing like
what we're at tonight.
I know, it's gorgeous.
But it was like, you know, he was writing you poetry every night.
He was doing things that were genuinely, they weren't really seen on the show, but they
were seen, but they weren't seen.
Oh, he sent me notes.
The length of which he went to on a nightly basis was head and shoulders above.
but I mean you see that stuff when you finally get a chance to spend time with them behind closed doors
without cameras and without the awkwardness of a microphone guy in your face just not thinking about
all that it's more like real life and you can trust each other and know that you're in a safe space
I feel like um anyway I yes it it was it was a great show Leslie my heart is just broken wide open
for her and you know what's what's crazy it happened to me it's exactly what happened to me yeah
Alex Michelle told me that he was going to choose me you were the one he literally said you're the
one and then Leslie he told her she was the one and she wasn't and so my heart like I really
truly sympathize with her is sympathize meaning that I think I empathize with her because I've
been through it. So, and I love Leslie. We were actually, we've been DMing like kind of through
this season. I mean, love her. I'm really, really hoping that she becomes the golden
bachelorette because. Are they going to do that? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. God,
I hope they do. I know. I know. I think it'll be so amazing. Here's what I think. I don't know much.
And I have been removed from the franchise in a way for a long time until we put this show together.
I love the idea of not focusing on the young hot thing, right?
I mean, I hate to say it, like so catty, but that really is kind of...
No, yeah.
I mean, you're talking about these women who are age appropriately cast.
I love it.
I love them.
And every one of them that I've met tonight, magical.
Like, they're beautiful people.
You are so right.
Beautiful people.
Oh, my God.
And they're so deserving.
And not that everyone isn't deserving of love, but I really truly feel like I
I am rooting for their age.
Right?
Because, so it was said multiple times in the show tonight that they don't have much time left.
And that, oh, I guess if you're thinking about it from a standpoint, like, can we be married for 50 years?
No.
Right.
Can we be married for 20 years?
Absolutely.
Can you be married for a day?
Like literally, Teresa said, we've given people hope that there is still love out there no matter what age you are.
Even if you're 90 and you have a day to live, you should still try to strive for love.
The U.S. Open is here.
And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.
The predictions will we see a first time winner and the pressure.
Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know.
Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature
cocktail of the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential
sporting event. I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis
fans, whether you play tennis or not. Tennis is full of compelling stories of late. Have you
heard about Icon Venus Williams' recent wild card bids or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko,
making a name for herself? How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form? To hear this and more,

Culture eats strategy for breakfast.
I would love for you to share your breakdown on pivoting.
We feel sometimes like we're leaving a part of us behind
when we enter a new space, but we're just building.
On a recent episode of Culture Raises Us,
I was joined by Volisha Butterfield, media founder, political strategist, and tech powerhouse
for a powerful conversation on storytelling, impact, and the intersections of culture and leadership.
I am a free black woman who worked really hard to be able to say that.
I'd love for you to break down. Why was so important for you to do C?
You can't win as something you didn't create.
From the Obama White House to Google to the Grammys,
Valicia's journey is a masterclass in shifting culture and using your voice to spark change.
A very fake, capital-driven environment and society will have a lot of people tell half-truths.
I'm telling you, I'm on the energy committee.
Like, if the energy is not right, we're not doing it, whatever that it is.

Hi, I'm Kurt Brown-Oller.
And I am Scotty Landis, and we host Bananas, the Weird News Podcasts with wonderful guests like Whitney Cummings.
And tackle the truly tough questions.
Why is cool mom an insult, but mom is fine?
No, I always say, Kurt's a fun dad.
Fun dad and cool mom, that's cool for me.
We also dig into important life stuff, like why our last names would make the worst hyphen ever.
My last name is Cummings.
I have sympathy for nobody.
Yeah, mine's brown-olar, but with an H, so it looks like brown holer.
Okay, that's, okay, yours might be worse.
We can never get married.

Okay, so questions
We have a couple questions
And I think they're actually kind of fun
At what point do you become an OG
So I've been thinking about this today.
You were busy doing other things.
Sorry.
What?
You probably heard that.
No.
I really want food.
So I have been thinking about this all day.
I think.
So, you know, it's interesting because.
You've been thinking about this all day.
I really have.
No.
I haven't thought about this.
But I like to sound like I am a little deeper than I am.
You know, it's funny.
It's funny.
I mean, it made no sense.
So true.
No, it kind of does.
kind of does.
I'm a shallow hell.
What?
No, I will say this.
What makes you an OG?
I think we do have a period of time, and I'm not sure what it is.
Clearly, it's not Old Mansion versus New Mansion, because this is my first time in this place.
Right.
I will say, I do think this place is lovely.
It has OG vibes.
It has OG vibes, though.
It's kind of outdated a little bit.
Yeah.
We got some OG people.
It doesn't look like this.
So you're not seeing it.
when everything's set up with the beautiful furniture.
Oh, I bet it's elaborate and wonderful.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But remember our mansions?
Yeah.
We were kind of in the ghetto, in the ghetto.
I mean, honestly, God, I remember staying in that mansion thinking I might get robbed tonight.
And I can tell you where I'm at now, I don't feel like I'm going to get robbed.
Like, I could leave my purse out.
I could.
I'm not going to worry about it.
I could leave my handbag.
I could leave my handbag out.
That's what I got from that.
My merse.
It's a mirse.
But at our old mansion, where we did the show, our old mansion.
I say mansion.
I mean, guys, I mean, potato tomato.
Yeah.
Point is, it was a lovely ranch.
No, it wasn't.
Actually, I think ours was.
It was a Spanish.
It was totally a ranch.
It was a Spanish.
We couldn't get the guy that owed it to leave.
Remember that?
He was a total creeper.
With the dog.
With the dog.
And any time the girls came over in bathing suits, he was like, hey, ladies.
I'm like, dude, can I please have a one-on-one here?
I mean, it was a disaster.
So the fact that he got foreclosed on, not super sad about it.
Wait, wait, wait.
Can we back up?
Because what girls came over in bathing suits?
None, but had they?
Had they?
I wanted to be ready.
Whoa.
So you were dating me and you were having girls over in bathing suits?
Listen, all I can tell you is this.
What I remember of this time in my life was it was an infinity pool that overlooked the lovely ocean.
And the house itself was a freaking haunted house.
Wait, you're talking about.
Your season.
Yes.
Mine, Andrew Firestone.
I think Aaron Burgies.
Bergey.
Bergey.
None of us could sleep.
None of us could sleep.
I remember waking up
the middle of the night one night
and I was like,
I'm going to walk around
and just look around.
So I'm terrified.
And I walked around.
I'm the only person in the middle of the night.
That's a good idea.
Because I've watched many horror films.
And I'm like, is this a chainsaw factory?
I'm going to walk in here.
No, but here's the thing.
I found the area with which they shot the show.
Yeah,
we've talked about this. What is they called? The village? I don't know, the confidential room.
And I went down there and Tristan knows this right. I went down there and I'm like, what in the
effing age is this place? And it was beneath the house. That's exactly what you said, the effing age.
I might have not said the effing age part. I might have said the actual words, but now that I have
children, I'm trying to be responsible. I find everything from submission tapes to addresses to
everything of every girl that's on my season. So I copied them down because my cell phone was a flip
phone at the time, just to date myself. And I wanted to make sure I sent them a loving and
heartfelt note about why I really enjoyed them being on my season. I remember there was a girl
on there that had like a cow or something. And I'm like, hi, you know, just loved learning about your
cow. I swear. No, you didn't. I wanted to let them know. I love learning about your cow.
And I do love cows as a people. And I just thought it'd be nice to let them know that I listened and,
you know, and things of that nature. But I remember things.
thinking of myself, I'm going to get kicked off the show for this. And then I remembered halfway
through, I'm like, oh, wait, they can't kick me off. I'm the guy that's doing the thing with the
stuff. And so I wasn't kicked off. But it was my mansion, I hate to say it, was not like this
mansion. Yes. This mansion's pretty badass. It is amazing. Okay, who are the newbies and who are the
wise old souls? But what does that mean? What does that question mean? Well, we're wise old. We know that
part, well, at least I am.
You're still kind of newbie-looking.
What I do want to, oh, thanks.
What I do want to bring up is the fact that I believe that the OGs, even though they're
considered the older shows, okay, so when it comes to time, right?
So time has gone on, right.
But what I want to, what I want to point out is OGs are the first to do something.
Okay.
So I was a dancing with the stars, O.G.
Yeah, you sure?
And I was a celebrity marriage boot camp, OG.
Yes, you were?
And these people on Golden Bachelor, and I don't say women because it was Gary, too, all the people on Golden Bachelor were OG in my mind.
Even though the show is not old, it's brand new.
but they are OGs in my mind because they are the first.
Okay.
But we also have to think about it from the standpoint of like from the Bachelor franchise itself.
Where do our OGs come into play?
So it can't just be the first because we'd have a really short season.
So we got to think about it from the standpoint of like I think there's a threshold or a window.
Like I think like for example, Ben and I were talking about Ben Higgins.
You guys might know.
I call him my boss.
he's the almost famous guy and then we're the OG OG guys um I think he he said to me he
might have been the first or second season in this mansion so I find that interesting because
he's got some stories about this place for sure also you know they did um they did the bachelor
not in paradise was paradise was a pad I came here I came here uh-huh I was you've been here
before I've been here before I've never been yeah it's definitely
It's crazy.
Isn't it crazy?
It is crazy.
Like I walk in here, I'm like, what the hell?
I know, Ryan's never been here.
I said Ryan today, I'm like, Ryan, have we ever been here?
No.
He goes, no.
I'm like, he goes, he goes in the car.
I was never invited.
I'm like, well, I wasn't either.
I mean, the only time I came was Bachelor pad and then when I was just here for the pickleball date
with Golden Bachelor.
And then we had an event where Sean Lowe and I were handing out roses as the press walked in.
Yeah.
Well, so.
Well, well, well, sorry.
No, I do love Sean.
I'm not going to lie to you guys.
I do love Shon Lowe,
but that does kind of hurt my OG heart.
I didn't plan it.
I will say this.
I am very honored to be here.
I am too.
I'm excited to see it.
I love that Ryan and I are seeing at the same time
because I think we are two of the serious OGs.
Yes.
So for us to be here in the mix
for the first time together.
Yeah.
Kind of a thing.
And I think, like you were saying,
where's the cutoff?
We've had people on the show
on the OGs.
we have interviewed multiple people from from different seasons so we've gone I don't know
Claire Crawley was on it Ashley Rosenbaum or a bear she's been on our show um Jillian
Harris's season I'm ready to expand I'm ready to expand I don't well I don't know should we expand
people so what I would love is if people are listening hopefully someone's out there listening
Hi, if you're listening.
My mom is.
My mom is.
Love you, Granny.
I want to know, we want to know what you think the definition of an OG is.
And then who would you like to hear on the show?
Would you like to hear people from the first, second, third, fourth, fifth seasons?
Or should we go to like the Ben Higgins season?
I think you do.
Right?
Like, I don't know.
My mindset is this.
I think that as the show continues to grow year over year.
yeah the OG threshold also it's a sliding scale right so I think we're going to start
finding ourselves talking to first season Bachelor Pad yeah yeah first season of
bachelor paradises or second and thirds because man I would like to talk to Bachelor in Paradise
first season and I would like to talk to Bachelor Pad like like Holly Julian love to talk to her
love her um I'd love to have people who's the Viagra guy biagra guy biagra
remember he married um oh yeah oh evan carly and evan they were on the first season of bachelor
and paris i feel like they were early on i'd like to talk to them i'd like to have carly on i mean she seems
lovely i love carly he seems like he's an active dad i love you know there's a lot of things that are
redeeming qualities about people and we need to figure them out and we need to talk about them yeah
and these people need to have a platform with which to do things other than promote tooth whitening
kids. Well, and honestly, well, by the way, I don't think anyone does that anymore.
So.
Or the hair gummy bears.
They don't do that anymore either.
Damn it. I really need to catch up on this. Yeah, you do. Um, he's an O.G. He's real old.
Sorry, guys, I'm super O.G. I don't really pay attention to it.
The U.S. Open is here. And on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history.

I don't write songs. God write songs. I take dictation.
I didn't even know you've been a past.
for over 10 years.
I think culture is any space that you live in that develops you.
On a recent episode of Culture Raises Us podcast,
I sat down with Warren Campbell,
Grammy-winning producer, pastor, and music executive
to talk about the beats, the business,
and the legacy behind some of the biggest names
in gospel, R&B, and hip-hop.
This is like watching Michael Jackson talk about Thurley before it happened.
Was there a particular moment where you realized
just how instrumental music culture was
to shaping all of our global ecosystem?
I was eight years old, and the Motown 25 special came on.
And all the great Motown artists, Marvin, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Diana of all.
From Mary Mary to Jennifer Hudson, we get into the soul of the music and the purpose that drives it.

It bothers me
So okay
Okay, so very funny story.
Do you know I brought no long socks?
Okay, so listen, at the show tonight,
we were sitting next to Jennifer Love Hewitt,
who I know you have a story about,
but, or at least your wife, she's told me.
Why was J.L.H. there?
She loves the show.
And my...
We dated for a short time.
Oh, you did? I didn't know that.
You didn't know.
What did you think my story was?
Reese Wetherspoons,
grandma or mother and daughter were there,
and I'm so mad I didn't take a picture with them
because I'm a huge fan of Reiswether Spud.
Let's pump the brakes.
Okay.
You, what do you think my story is?
Would you stop doing that?
What's my story about JLH if I, if I wasn't about my day?
Your wife just said you need to ask him his story.
Oh, so Jennifer and I, first of all, Jennifer Love Hewitt is a lovely person.
Love her.
And incredible talent, by the way.
I'll tell you.
Yes, we've met many years ago.
Yes.
Wait, were you at the place where we were, so we went to the president's, what is this
called?
I know it wasn't there.
I wasn't anything of the president.
I was never invited those things.
It's like the media president.
You'd get invited to the vice,
the vice kitchen consultant role.
Okay, we're going to have Trista come to the vice president
and the president's dinner.
Bob, you go to the vice kitchen closet controller meal.
Okay, that's funny because do you know what I have to say?
So last night, I was really depressed.
What?
Because, well, first of all, my daughter was.
kind of mean to me.
And then my son didn't want to listen to me.
I mean,
they're teenagers.
I call that a Thursday.
Exactly.
You just wait until they're teenagers.
So, and then I get on social media and all these people that I'm friends with that I follow,
they're all posting about how they're at the variety most influential women in reality television.
And I was like, oh, okay, I guess.
Okay.
I get it.
guess my in my god. No, I get it. I get it. You're in my god. Maybe they didn't know your move.
Yeah. Yeah. They didn't know you're living with your in-laws. Exactly. So they, their,
their invitation got lost in the mail. Thanks, variety. And thanks, I, I, and I just worked
with DirecTV. And I was like, I was an influential and I was an influential woman in
reality television. Okay. Okay. Thanks. That would bum me out. When you, when you first
started talking about it, I thought, I was thinking, like,
get over it, dude, it's fine.
But then when you said the most influential women in reality TV show,
I'm like, Trista, that's kind of who you are.
You are the most influential woman in reality television.
Well, obviously, I'm not, according to Varroian.
I don't think that you're not.
I don't think you're not.
Anyway, okay, so we digress again and again and again.
But so we were talking about getting left out.
What were you talking?
Oh, you were talking about Jennifer Love Hewitt.
So what's your story?
You have to finish with this.
All I will say is,
that she's a lovely person.
We spent some time together,
and I really enjoy her company,
and she's an amazing talent.
Okay.
Not only as she is a wonderful actress,
she's a great singer.
Yes.
And she's singing with my band.
Oh, she did?
Before she sang on you.
Do you all know about Bob's band,
Fat Amy?
Well, not that.
She's saying a band from TV.
Oh, ban from TV.
But first of all,
I love that you went,
no.
Trista, I love that you went there.
But she went to a band from TV,
which was my celebrity band.
And she came in and singing us.
That's funny.
And it was amazing.
Hi.
Hey.
But yeah, she's such a talent and such a lovely person.
Yeah.
And yeah.
So we had some really wonderful times ago.
Okay.
That's all we'll leave it at.
Anyway, we had a really fun time with Jennifer Love Hewitt.
But the socks reminded me.
So Ryan is wearing Converse tonight because he wears Converse with suits.
First of all, those are some shoes.
Hey, thanks.
What are those?
Those are some high.
Libby Towns?
No, those aren't loads.
So he had on white, like, knee-hyes.
Not knee-hyes, but, you know, like knee-high socks.
Mid-A-Inx.
Okay.
No, higher than that.
Caves.
With his converse, because he forgot to bring, like, other socks.
And he turns to Jennifer Love Hewitt, and he's like, are these, do you think they're,
should I have worn other socks?
Oh, that's nice.
And the friend that she brought had white socks on too.
And so we took a picture.
I'll share it.
I love it.
I love her.
I think she is so great.
All right, great.
So we've had a great episode here of the Almost Famous OGs.
