Welcome to The Almost Famous Podcast. Today it is the Almost Famous Podcast, but I am joined by the OGs, Trista and Bob,
Starting point is 00:02:21 because Ben is away for two weeks in Italy. And who better? I'm going to, who better to break down the golden bachelor with than these two golden alums? You guys are golden because you're wonderful. And you also happen to be, you know, a little bit more on the, you know, you're a little more on the, you know, you're a little more on the vintage side. I think so.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Vintage is fine to say, right? You know, whatever. It is what it is. What I like to say is that we relate more to the Golden Bachelor than I think maybe we do to the 20-somethings on Bachelor and Bachelorette these days. You guys are a little closer. You're a little closer to the age group in this new cast,
Starting point is 00:03:10 but you're certainly nowhere close, close to it. That being said, guys, let's talk about the ages. There's no 50-somethings. It starts at 60. I think this is a surprise to a lot of people. What do you guys think? Do you think? I didn't think it would,
Starting point is 00:03:28 I didn't think it would start under 60. Oh. I thought we were going to get 50-somethings, yeah. I did too. I'm with you. I actually thought it was going to be, I was looking for a couple outliers. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:03:39 Like a few 45 and 50s. And I was shocked, pleasantly surprised, actually, when it was. Me too. Me too. Yeah. I didn't want to call 50-somethings golden. No.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Thank you. Because I'm not. I wasn't thinking about that way. Yeah, I'm 52. You're right. That would be way too young for this show. Yeah. You know that sooner, you know that soon people are going to say stuff like,
Starting point is 00:04:04 okay, but what about me? Like, where's the middle-aged bachelor or bachelor? Oh, we've already been. The 40s and 50s definitely want their own show now, too. We talked about it. So we had Deanna on the OGs, and we talked about how her and I went to the Mentel all and how she, you know, was talking. to the producers about um hello she's single like she would like a middle age show yeah um so yeah for sure
Starting point is 00:04:30 i feel like it would be a great show i mean i don't know if you hear this but and bob probably hears it too as much as i do but you might not just that people come up to me and they're like oh i watched during your season but i stopped watching that and they were older people so they're in their probably 50 60 70s maybe and and i feel like there's going to be a resurgence of those people because they stopped watching after maybe me and Ryan or were somewhere around there, maybe after Bob. And I think they're going to watch again because, like we just said, I think they relate more to what Gary and these women have been through in their life and how they have kids and
Starting point is 00:05:10 grandkids and whatever more than the 20-something's coming right out of college, you know. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I've heard that a lot too, actually, Tristan. It's funny because I always say the same line, which is, oh, I, I, either, you know, set the bar so high you couldn't watch anymore or I completely tanked and really, there's probably no middle ground in there. It's, you know, hopefully it's neither of those. But yeah, I do hear that a lot. So I think you're right. I think it's going to be, I mean, my, you know, for what it's worth, my mom and her friends are all very excited about it.
Starting point is 00:05:42 And, you know, they're talking about it and asking me a bunch of questions. I'm like, I don't know. I don't know anything. We'll have to wait and see. So I'm excited for it. The social media hype around the show is unlike a Bachelor or Bachelorette season that it's been years. It's been years since we saw this kind of excitement. And to add in, everybody's pretty excited about Joey. So I think we're on an upwards trajectory with the franchise. I think that this show, though, might get like some seriously crazy ratings in comparison to our past few Bachelor or Bachelorette seasons. I totally agree.
Starting point is 00:06:15 I really do. It's so interesting and different. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and the conventional viewing platform. I mean, at the end of the day, you know, the one thing that's made it, you know, so sustainable over the years hasn't been the weekly viewership on ABC. It's really been the streaming and all of the other platforms where people have actually been able to watch the show. And I think you'll probably see a resurgence in the traditional ratings around this show because a lot of the people watching it that will relate to it, you know, don't know how to get online anyway. Totally. I feel terrible saying it, but it's true. No, it's 100% true. I think we're going to get a lot of first-time viewers,
Starting point is 00:06:53 people who have never watched the show before, and a lot of returnees, and then basically anyone who's still currently watching the show, Chris, Trista, you actually have an episode that you've already filmed of The Golden Bachelor. Ben isn't here to express his jealousy. I know. And before we dive into the cast and, like, all their bios,
Starting point is 00:07:15 I would love to get a little teaser from what you witnessed in person. So I can't talk about what I did. Everyone will just have to tune in. But I am. I did get a chance to meet a few of the ladies. And I am, let me just say, this will be what I say. I am so excited for this show. Like, you know, I think when,
Starting point is 00:07:43 um when this concept first kind of came about i heard like people in the press or whatever on social being like are you kidding me like they're going to have grandma and grandpa doing this these are grandma and grandpa grandmas um obviously gary's a grandpa but these are grandmas but they are with it like they are gorgeous in person we've seen my personal opinion um they have had lives that are you know pretty outstanding like I I'm here for it. I am so excited to see these ladies and what like transpires
Starting point is 00:08:20 you know, on the show other than what I got to be a part of. I am just, and I was trying to get the ones that I met, you know, on social, like, get in touch with me after the show. You know, I know you can't have phones. And they're all kind of like, well, we don't know how to do that. I'm like, well, hopefully someone will help you with back. I really want to, I want to connect with them on social.
Starting point is 00:08:43 And I know that it was, it's really, you know, not their thing. But I am so, so excited. So excited. How was Gary? I'm assuming you met him. I did. So I met Gary at the, the Mentel All for Charity. And actually, we're talking about social media.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I don't, I think I shared this story on, oh, geez. But I walked into the makeup room and he was sitting there. Gina had just finished with him. And I was like, oh my gosh, Gary, hi. How are you? Like, how is it going? And, you know, of course, so pleasant and so sweet. And I said, how is social media?
Starting point is 00:09:25 Because I think he had just done an interview or something where I heard him talking about how it's really daunting because he knows nothing. And I was like, how is social media? And he goes, oh, are you part of the social media crew? Oh. And then you had to say, I'm just the first batch. at? I was like, no, my name's Trista. And I was on the, you know, the first show and then was the first bachelor. And he jumped out of his seat and came and gave me the biggest hug. And then later, I think I posted this on my, on my social account. So later we went to, I went to his room to
Starting point is 00:10:05 like, you know, take a couple pictures with the rose, of course. And I walk into his dressing room. And he is, He's just the sweetest and kindest man, like just so wholesome, but also so fun and so funny. And he was like, let's dance. And he grabbed my hand and started singing at last to me and was like dancing. Did you post this? I did. Yeah. In a carousel.
Starting point is 00:10:31 So it was like the last. I think I did. Maybe I did. I think you did. I think you did. Yeah. Anyway, it was just the sweetest moment. And so, yes, I have had the pleasure.
Starting point is 00:10:42 of meeting him. I gave him some advice when I was there and I'm hoping that he takes the advice. It was basically, and I would tell this advice to anybody, but basically choose the person that you can't see living your life without because that's the best advice that I ever got during my season and obviously it's worked out this far. So hopefully he'll heed that advice and it will turn out to be a successful um you know show and relationship for him afterwards when you were there for the what we'll presume was a date did you like sense any drama amongst the cast you guys this is what i think will be so different about this show is that 20-somethings they're like all for the drama you know what i mean like they're just they don't care about who
Starting point is 00:11:42 who you are and admit it's it's been a thing you know for years i'm not here to make friends right i've always hated that term like because why not like why don't you want to make friends yeah it's a fun environment so why not make friends and and obviously we are all from different parts and we're friends you know so like why not but anyway um i think that their age like they're just like why would we want drama we are here to you know to meet gary and i think they truly get it that it's just what it is like they do not have social media they don't want to like and maybe i don't know because i didn't meet all of them maybe like some of them are there to like promote their businesses or whatever and they've heard you know that that's that can be a benefit
Starting point is 00:12:30 but i truly feel like they're there for what the show was started for and that is to find love and that's why i think even more than you know us being able to relate is that people are going to watch because it kind of is back to the feel good part of the show and that's just to find love i i got to tell you guys i'm a big fan of just even the uh the photo of everyone with a little more elegant right everyone's black dresses the gold background is that i love it yeah love it and i got to say and the video and the video yeah i mean everything about it so far has has a different what i think is more of a classier take on the show and i I feel like it's basically almost announcing right from the jump,
Starting point is 00:13:16 hey, this is going to be different, guys. We get it. It's not just about the age difference and things of that nature, but we're going after, you know, a totally different feel. And I hope it rubs off on future airings of the show when we go back to, you know, the normal contacts. Because, you know, like you said at Trista, and because I'm driving, I was muted and didn't want to say anything.
Starting point is 00:13:38 But I was there to make friends when I went on Trista's season or bachelor. And I've made great friends, not just with Trista and Ryan, but with so many guys that were part of the cast that I remained close to over the years. And it's like, that was such a huge thing for me. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You know, at the end of the day, you hope that at the worst, you can walk away with some friends.
Starting point is 00:14:00 And at the best, you walk away with the love of your life, you know? So I feel like that's something that I'm really looking forward to with this season. And after looking at the photos of the ladies, and especially at the group photo and everything else. I mean, it seems better right now already than where we're at after the first, you know, rose ceremony when everyone's all glammed up and ready to go. It's like it's already at a different starting point for me as a fan,
Starting point is 00:14:26 and I'm really excited about that. Yeah, that group photo was so Vanity Fair slash, you know, Kardashian Christmas card. Everybody looks so classy, and they're definitely not going for like a real housewives vibe at all. And let's mention, that the music that they've put to these promos shares do you believe and then golden hour oh my gosh they're so perfectly placed and they get us excited like an old school
Starting point is 00:14:53 bachelor promo agreed i love the video promo with like little snippets of them putting on jewelry and like you know cleaning their glasses and like putting on their hose like it's it's sexy but it's so classy and I am again, I'm totally here for it. All right. I know we have to break down the cast list but one more question, Trista, just since you have a little
Starting point is 00:15:19 bit more firsthand experience with the team, do you know why the producers chose him and how they found him? Well, I guess it's pretty obvious why they chose him, but how do they find him? So his daughter nominated him. As like the lead? Because I remember
Starting point is 00:15:35 you know, the old casting call, which was a couple years ago. That's actually. early is. I do not know that answer, but I do know that his daughters nominated him. So whether it was to be part of the cast or the lead, I don't know if they knew back then if they were going to do a bachelor or bachelor. No, they did. They knew they were going to do a bachelor first, right? They knew they were going to do a bachelor first, but yeah. So it was basically kind of like send in any older person. Right. Who's deserving of this? Yeah. Yes. It was his daughters. And I'm so thankful they did because I truly feel like he was a genius cast, like, for the casting directors.
Starting point is 00:16:19 I think he is just, as I said, so wholesome. And I personally think that everyone is going to want to root for him because his story is so heartbreaking. And you want him to find, you know, someone to share his life with again. um maybe not replace not not maybe not not replace his wife but have start this new adventure with someone for the remainder of their lives which you know hopefully they have a a lot longer to live and they're going to be together for at least 20 30 years you know um i just i think he is he's he's good looking he's really witty and charismatic Um, obviously he was singing at last to me and dancing with me the first time I met him. Um, and he's so
Starting point is 00:17:15 fun. Like, I just think he has such a fun personality. He loves his friendships. He loves his family. And I don't know. I just, I, I, I think it was a genius cast move for the cast characters. Yeah, I'm so happy they found him. Okay. So this is what we get, this is what we were going to do. what we do at the beginning of every season when the cast list is announced for those listening at home go to the roster that we're going to use which is the ABC.com
Starting point is 00:17:45 Golden Bachelor cast you just type it into Google if you want guys it's just the Golden Bachelor ABC.com okay so we're going to go through each of the ladies there are only 22 ladies which I also kind of like we're not going to be overwhelmed by them I wonder if that means
Starting point is 00:18:02 it's going to be a shorter season I would say like after charities season, like since it's following charities, that it's shorter. Do you know what I mean? I think it's going to be shorter too. I can't imagine. Charities was what an episode shorter? I kind of enjoyed it. I kind of liked it being more fast pace and like just getting to the good stuff really. I agree. I agree. And wasn't it was it two hours long? Was Charities? Yeah, it was two hours long. Oh, it still was. Okay. Yeah. But I assume just for their filming schedule that it needs to be shorter. But like either way, I like the fact that the cast is a little bit more condensed. And they
Starting point is 00:18:36 seem like so high quality when you look at all these little pictures here you're like it's such a good looking cast everybody looks at they've just taken such good care of themselves and i just i just love these ladies already actually i i still agree with you like my mom is 78 okay and i literally am so protective of this generation of women and men just i just have so much mad respect for my elders and especially like my parents age and stuff and i just i feel like the people that they chose to be the show, I hope that they are treated well by The Bachelor fans. Like, I'm sure they will be, but man, I will just be, I'm going to be beside myself if it's just like a Shredfest online all the time. I just hope it's not. I know. I don't think so. I love these women. I've not met
Starting point is 00:19:24 any of them, but I absolutely like, I already adore them and I'm going to be so protective. So I just hope to God that people are respectful and appreciative of these people putting themselves out there at the stage in the game. And, you know, are just, I mean, I am just, I just think it's such an honor to have people like this on this show right now because there's not a, there's not a person of a bunch that seems like they're a joke by any means, right? They're all coming in there. And there's no stunt casting or no, you know, obvious person that's going to stand out as, you know, like the dude last season with the feather earrings. Yeah. Yeah, there's nobody coming in here trying just to stir the pot, you know. Yeah. Guys, Bob's traveling right now. So he's not the most reliable soundwise. So we are going to go back and forth, Tristan and I, through this cast list. If there's anything that we'd like to make up per what Ben does, usually, we will.
Starting point is 00:20:16 But if not, I just want to be sweet to these ladies because they seem wonderful and they're all our moms or grandmas. So, Trista, let's start with Anna. Okay, so Anna is 61. She is a retired nutritionist from Summit, New Jersey. She's traveled to over 20 countries. she has three daughters and loves hiking and skiing with them and the adventures don't stop there because when she dives with sharks
Starting point is 00:20:42 she goes cagedless she also likes spending her Sundays at the local farmers market and I love that she put foraging for mushrooms foraging for mushrooms okay I saw this too and learning about new herbs and plants does she sound like someone who may like want to smoke a little duby with him
Starting point is 00:21:01 That's my Ben take Well wait, she's New Jersey Is New Jersey? Yeah, I think so Yeah Okay, yeah Or she's just a chef I don't know
Starting point is 00:21:15 Forging for mushrooms Interesting Yeah, foraging I don't know anything about mushrooms Because I hate them so I'm not a mushroom fan either I'm never gonna buy some at the grocery store So her going out of her way to find them
Starting point is 00:21:29 Very interesting Yeah, right Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone to land this plane. Think you could do it? It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just...
Starting point is 00:22:01 I can do it my eyes close. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And on our new show, No Such Thing, we get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And then, as we try the whole thing out for real. Wait, what? Oh, that's the runway. I'm looking at this thing. See? Listen to No Such Thing on the I Heart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my name is Enya Umanzor.
Starting point is 00:22:37 And I'm Drew Phillips. And we run a podcast called Emergency Intercom. If you're a crime junkie and you love crimes, we're not the podcast for you. But if you have unmedicated ADHD... Oh my God, perfect. And want to hear people with mental illness, psychobabble. Yes, yes. Then Emergency Intercoms is the podcast for you.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Open your free... I heart radio app, search emergency intercom, and listen now. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York state number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training.
Starting point is 00:23:33 These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio, app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello, Ed. From a very rural background myself, my dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin. So, like, it's not, like... What do you get when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club? I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story. that no one expected to hear. Well, 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get when a true crime producer
Starting point is 00:24:47 walks into a comedy club? A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now. Listen to Wisecrack. crack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Next up is April. She's 65.
Starting point is 00:25:12 She's a therapist, and she's from Port St. Lucy, Florida. All right. So she is like the Zaza Aga Bore, right? She just seems like a little over-the-top extravagance, luxury lady. I just imagine her just like living the luxury life by the pool. in Florida. She says that she talks to her family daily and makes sure to end every conversation with I love you.
Starting point is 00:25:37 I feel that. She has been dating since losing her partner and it's been really difficult and she enjoys spending time with her kids, grandkids, loves dancing to Taylor Swift, watching Bridgerton and playing with her two dogs. So I would like to hang out with this lady. I mean, right. Right? She would all get along.
Starting point is 00:25:59 We all would. she wants to write a best-selling book Finding pennies brings her joy That's awesome And she's a secretly hidden tattoo Of her nickname Which is Presh
Starting point is 00:26:12 Which just further continues This Zaza Gabor thing for me Yeah Zhajah Not Jaza Oh jaja But it's spelled Zaza right So have you
Starting point is 00:26:22 You've heard of the word Juz right? Yeah So I honestly Lisa Levinson and I back on Bachelorette days, she, I swear she coined that term, and it's used
Starting point is 00:26:34 all the time now, and we used to talk about how it's spelled, and I think it's spelled ZS something, but because of Zsa, because it's josh, like the ZS, I don't know, anyway. Well, thank you, because I wouldn't have no
Starting point is 00:26:52 idea how to even Google the word juz. I know, right? I'm pretty sure I'm try to do it before. All right. Let's go on to Christina. Okay. Christina is 73 and I wonder if she's the oldest. She is the oldest. She is. I thought there's like a 75. No, no wait. There's a second page. 75 is the oldest. There's two 75 year olds. So she's the third oldest. She's a retired purchasing manager and she's from Sierra Madre, California. She says these are her go-go years. not her slow go years
Starting point is 00:27:30 and well the biggest fun fact is that the internet is buzzing about when it comes to Christina is that her first ever concert was the Beatles in 1964 yeah so that's a cool cool fun fact to have about yourself she also loves a good dude ranch
Starting point is 00:27:49 and prefers to drive stick shift so this is our badass bitch I think totally right I can I mean Sierra Madre I don't know anything about it but it seems like it's very outdoorsy. And from what I remember, I believe that Gary is into adventure. And yeah, I don't know exactly, but I have a feeling that he likes a good adventure and
Starting point is 00:28:12 being outdoorsy. So who knows? Okay, Edith, she is 60. She's a retired realtor and she's from Downey, California, another Californian. She's also a mom and grandmother. She's retired realtor, but she's still kind of like, keeping up with that life. She's building an ADU in her backyard, which I had to look up what this was.
Starting point is 00:28:35 But it's basically like a little, like, it's like a guest house in your backyard. And she's the project manager. She also doesn't do cold ever, which is like, I mean, the guy does live in Indiana. And he loves this very sentimental lakehouse. Let's see how that goes down. And then Edith makes beautiful hand-painted birthday cards as well as loves going salsa. dancing. Okay. That's amazing. I, yeah, the cold thing, I used to say that, you know, when I think there was even a clip of me on one of the shows being like, oh, I really don't like
Starting point is 00:29:12 cold weather and hello, I moved to Colorado and have been living here for 20 years. What we'll do for men. Okay. Next stop is Ellen, because I also live in a cold state for my husband. We do what we do. We do what we do. Okay. Next one is Ellen. She is 71 and she's a retired teacher from Delray Beach, Florida. All right. She is super friendly looking. She looks like a retired teacher. You know what I mean? Like she has that friendly teacher look. I wonder what grade she used to teach. So like many of these ladies, she loves playing pickleball. There's like a joke in one of the promos that they just all love playing pickleball. Right. Me too, by the way. Love it yeah i have never played but i do enjoy bouncing that ball around the house and then and i'm sure
Starting point is 00:30:02 dawson does he that's what i mean that's why i have a pickle ball loose in the house if anybody was wondering i love the fact that she admits that she enjoys watching tv she also likes um just remaining healthy playing botchy ball with her girlfriend she dreams of going on an african safari loves dancing um despite her left two feet and idolizes michelle obama okay I love it. I mean, who doesn't want to go to Africa and safari? I do. I would be worried.
Starting point is 00:30:32 But again, another adventure. Yeah, that's true. Although, I don't know. I feel like there's a way that you can say that they're an adventure. Like, I'm, you know, I'm kind of in between an adventure and not. And I definitely would want to go to Africa. Yeah, okay. Safari isn't in between, but listen, cageless shark diving is the extreme.
Starting point is 00:30:52 I know that for sure. Okay. Okay. Next up is Faith, and I just love her name, first of all. She's 60, and I believe that's the youngest, right? Yep. There's a couple. She is 60. She's a high school teacher, and she's from Benton City, Washington. And having high school students, I can tell you, it takes a very special person to be a high school teacher. mm-hmm you know for sure two sons four grandkids and she's a woman of many talents so she is still teaching it seems radio hosting i want to know about that yeah oh guess guess what she also has on her bucket list that she'd like to dive with sharks she also wants to ride a motorcycle and get a tattoo and she's trying to find someone of course that will do all that with her she loves riding her horse liberty through the mountains and hates technology that doesn't constantly work, don't we all. I mean, I love hate. Got to love and hate it.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Okay, Jeannie is 65. She's a retired project manager, and she's from Estill Springs, Tennessee. She's a certified scuba diver. This is where I really question Jeannie, though. She says that her favorite color is neon, and I'm like, girl, that is like a shade of colors. neon is not a color it's a shade of pink and green and yellow she dreams of going to the Super Bowl one day and she loves taking active like Zumba lessons walking dogs is anything that's active for her and uh yeah she's got great role models in Oprah Dolly Parton and Princess Diana
Starting point is 00:32:40 I mean those are some pretty good role models Um, okay, next is Joan who, holy gorgeousness. She is gorgeous. Like, I don't want to like rank anyone, but I will say that she's like one of the ones that my eyes goes toward. Okay. She's going to be, she could be quite the haughty. And the, uh, I'll tell you when I, when we come to her. Yeah, there's another one that I know what's when you're talking about, I think.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Yep. She looks like Michelle Pfeiffer or something. Uh, I mean, she doesn't have blonde hair, so maybe not. Okay. Joan. She's 60 years old, a private school administrator from Rockland, Maryland. Is that somewhere near you in Rhode Island? Yeah. Yes. So, like, I want to hang out with her because she's, well, one kind of around my home. And she also loves listening to Elton John, hanging with her dog, cooking a delicious meal, all those things I like to do as well. She lost her husband of 32 years to pancreatic cancer. So this is definitely going to be like one of those stories that I think is going to be quite highlighted. She loves dancing after a few glasses of wine. She enjoys historical museums and she likes big juicy burgers. So like, yeah, this is my girl.
Starting point is 00:33:53 So next up is Kathy. She is 70. She's a retired educational consultant, which I'd love to know what that is. She's from Austin, Texas, which I love Austin, Texas. Great, great city. So for many years she worked as an educator. consultant, where she helped students apply for their dream colleges. Actually, I had one of those.
Starting point is 00:34:20 My parents got me one of those, and he was not helpful whatsoever. Oh, he wasn't? No, I did not like, I did not like going to see that man. And I also, like, did not agree with the kinds of colleges he wanted me to go to. And I ended up going to some place that he, like, wouldn't have been, like, totally a fan of. Anyway, okay. Or maybe she's better. I'm sure she's better.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Such a side note. Okay, so she loves the outdoors, kayaking, hiking, hiking, skiing, and she has been to three continents, but once go to all seven, she has two adorable geriatric cats. And Kathy is obsessed with Christmas. That's very sweet.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Oh, I love it. The cat lady who loves Christmas. Okay. Leslie, she's my other eye-catcher. Like, I think she is a stunner. those cheekbones, her eyes. I just, she's stunning. Leslie is 64.
Starting point is 00:35:19 She's a fitness instructor and she's from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Okay, so she goes beyond fitness instructor. She also loves to figure skate and dance and she has run 10 marathons and is looking for her running buddy for life. When she's not the gym, she is a mom to three kids and a glamma to three grandkids. I love it. She's a former aerobics champion, and Lady Gaga and Post Malone are at the top of Leslie's best concerts ever list. She's cool.
Starting point is 00:35:53 She's my favorite. I mean, just from that bio, even if you took away, like, what she looks like. She's amazing. Okay, Maria is the next one, 60 years old. 60 years young is what we're going to say. Health and Wellness Director, she's from TNAC, New Jersey. She's got three kids in their 20s. her career in health and wellness is extremely important to her and she's also really passionate about helping families affected impacted by autism she has never gone paintballing but really wants to try so people out there are yeah people are out there are saying like please put maria on a paintballing date
Starting point is 00:36:30 that's cute her favorite indulgence is a glass of 100 year old gren marne is it grand marne or mariner marne marne right and she also loves Valentine's Day which is just like an adorable fun fact for somebody who's supposedly been single for a bit yeah that's true hopefully if they end up together Gary stepped it up on Valentine's Day okay Marina she's 60 years old she's an educator we have a lot of teachers
Starting point is 00:36:59 and educators in this list educator from Los Angeles she's super pretty too I mean they are all very attractive I love the gray I like the gray with like her big thick healthy hair yeah yes same so she's a mom to two kids and when she's not spending time with her family she likes well like so many of them spin class hiking cooking going for long drives i appreciate that she has not one two but three master's degrees she refuses
Starting point is 00:37:33 to stand in lines wait what do you mean like it just says marina doesn't stand in lines. So Marina need to know, like, are we talking like long hour, hour long, like amusement park rides, getting into the club? Yeah. Or are we talking like grocery store lines of two or three people? That's literally what I was thinking. Like, how do you go to Target? Like, you have to stand in line. I know. I think it's probably like, you know, amusement park rides. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. I mean, unless she goes to clubs and she's like, I refuse to stand out. outside. I have to have the door open for me, you know? Well, I don't know about you, but I stopped going to clubs a long time ago. Same. Yeah. Okay, Nancy is the next one. She's so cute. This is Nancy. She's the one I think looks like Michelle Fiverer. Super pretty. She does. You're right. You're right. She's 60 retired interior designer from Alexandria, Virginia. She is also near my home. She's got a golden doodle. She likes playing golf. She's a of three and um she i think i think she may have also lost her husband because it says even she believes
Starting point is 00:38:50 in love stories even having a great one she believes that she can have another one uh nancy loves a good rom-com she's a dancing machine but only at weddings and she's a big bruce springsteen stan as she calls herself ah cute very cute cancel a bunch of concerts i heard um Oh, yes, I did hear that. Yeah. Natasha, 60, pro-aging coach and midlife speaker, and she's from New York. She is looking for a romantic, athletic, and emotionally available man. I like that.
Starting point is 00:39:25 She also enjoys the farmer's market, taking walks around Central Park and spending time with her 15-year-old granddaughter. She'll be taking dance classes, yoga classes, listening to Janet Jackson around New York City, she says, and she also wants bell bottoms to make a comeback. Oh my gosh. I remember reading that. That's the cutest thing ever. So cute. I mean, also, Natasha, guess what? They're kind of coming back. They're pretty back. Yeah. They're back. Yeah. They're back. I agree. What, the Janet Jackson thing, that is so funny because I literally just said the same thing to somebody. We were talking about concerts and i was like god janet jackson came i would go and people were like janet jackson like
Starting point is 00:40:12 how old are you why jennett jac i think she's on tour right now and like kately bristow and stuff went there i freaking live her i don't find a love for janet jackson to be a dated fact whatsoever i know right um i will say it's it's interesting because i think a lot of these women have a lot in common like the shark shark do the um farmers markets so i wonder if they're using that and they're going to put the use that for dates like if they're going to go to a farmer's market and they're going to go shark diving and you know i don't well it's it's telling to me that they keep up with their health because like they're eating fresh and they're all active yeah and i i think he wants that i think they probably took notes because that's what they usually do with the leads is see what
Starting point is 00:41:01 they're looking for and those are the kind of people that they cast so yeah i think they listened you know which is good um okay so pamela is a 75 year old she she's one of the oldest too or the oldest um retired salon owner from aurora illinois it says when she's not at the salon she loves to read on a hammock while sitting a cocktail i'm like yes that sounds like a great life yes she has two kids three grandchildren loves a backyard barbecue can't get enough judge judy in her life and loves to cuddle i got enough judge judy that's hysterical oh goodness i don't know if i see a gary liking that but um that's okay uh she just wants to kind of like sit on the couch you know what i mean she's a relaxer netflix we don't see anything about her wanting to work out but like i also respect
Starting point is 00:41:56 you know yeah hey you be you um okay Maddie, this is Matt James' mom. And she is 70 and she's smoking hot. Holy cow, like gorgeous. Matt, yeah, he gets it from. Retired real estate professional and from Durham, North Carolina. So she's been single for almost 30 years. I'm sure she's dated in there. But, you know, like she hasn't had, I guess, it's been 30 years since she was with Matt's dad. It says her heart is open and she hopes to share her positivity in Zest for Life with a partner. She's, an avid sailor. She loves body glitter and encourages you to also apply body glitter. And you can't start her day without a cup of coffee, which, you know, that's pretty normal. But body glitter. You got me there, girl. Body glitter. I don't know about that one because my daughter wanted to apply it everywhere for the Taylor Swift concert. Mind you, she had all these jewels all over. And those looked really cute. But the body glitter, I was like, I think that's a little too much. She did a little. I remember, like, for insane concerts, like, getting ready to feel my prettiest.
Starting point is 00:43:01 Like, I would just slab on a ton of glitter, just like a roll of glitter onto my cheeks. Just the center of the cheeks, like my cheekbone. Like, I thought it was cool. It was very strange. I mean, it's not strange. It's just life. It's just childhood. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Right. So she continues to be passionate about her work. She even went back to her dental practice after initially retiring because she missed it so much. I cannot imagine missing being in other people's mouth. But she really does like she loves she loves this she's gone on multiple dental missions around the world where she's volunteered to serve developing nations. That's amazing. That's really, really cool. She also has a bejean named Libby. She would love to be Jennifer Lopez for the day. I mean, you wouldn't. I know. And then she's a go-karting enthusiast. Imagine that you're on an airplane, and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers, the pilot is having an emergency, and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane. Think you could do it?
Starting point is 00:44:15 It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this. It's just... I can do my icecloth. I'm Mani. I'm Noah. This is Devin. And just like all those fun facts about her just make me love her so much. I love Sandra. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:49:25 That is really cute bio. Such a cute bio. Because I feel like everyone, everyone has kind of been the same. Like, you know, you say the same thing. It's like, oh, gosh, when I filled out my bio, it's the same. Like, you just say who you are, and we're all kind of the same. Yeah. But Sandra, I mean, that's a perfect bio.

So I'm assuming that there's like some inspiration going on with her look. That is going to happen 100%.
Starting point is 00:50:22 We have to make that happen. I know. So Chris is a fan of the show. She's, I would assume, would definitely be watching this show. Oh. And could you imagine if she makes like a little cameo appearance? That would be so cool. So fun.

Okay, so something strikes me about Sylvia when I was going through the bio. It seems like she's never been married. Sylvia has always dreamed of getting married and is looking for a man who's a good listener with a romantic heart. She's a total boss girl and has been, you know, very professionally successful. but now she's ready to shift her focus over to romance.
