Our hometown is not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America plays out in one small town. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to Our Town on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with IHart Radio. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the almost a day of this podcast. Today we are doing headlines with Jared. Hi.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Jared loves talking about Bachelor. But since last week was our anniversary, our seventh anniversary, we thought that we'd do it a little bit with Jared and we talk about what we did and all of that. But the funny thing that we argue about now every time our anniversary comes around is does it feel like this amount of time or does it feel like this amount of time or does it feel like. less. I always feel like it feels like years less. At seven years, to me, it feels like four years. And Jared's always like, no, it feels about seven years now. I have no opinion. I wish I did. Because like the difference between seven and four matters nothing to me. When you're like, it feels like four instead of seven. And I'm like, I don't care. You and Ben are the two people of my life, of my life, that you guys exaggerate time so much.
Starting point is 00:03:30 that like I feel like your timetable isn't even right. Like you and Ben will be like that was like two years ago. And then I go, Jared, that was this past November. Like you just said we haven't driven to my parents for two years. And I was like, we drove this past Thanksgiving. I have, my brain is mush. What do you want for me? So you just have a, you have a whacked out timeline.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Yeah. So what did we do to celebrate, Jared? We went to dinner in Newport. It was very nice. Went to a dinner at a restaurant called Vanderbilt. It's a Vanderbilt Hotel, the restaurant there's very nice. Went to the rooftop. beforehand and afterwards because it was so beautiful beautiful views of newport we met a couple other
Starting point is 00:04:05 couples out on the top which was wonderful and uh had a couple drinks uh a night out without the kids it was very nice very low key exactly what i wanted and i'm assuming you wanted as well yeah i just love going to newport as much as possible during the summer this night it was a recreation of the weather seven years later that we had it was cotton candy skies like about 80s degrees, no humidity. It was just gorgeous. And I had a great time with you on Tuesday night. It was very nice. And that Jared like really wants to be here. Clearly. Jared. Well, it's not a bad thing. It's just like I have no opinions about it. It was a very nice nice. Do you have no opinions? This is, this sounds great. I know. This is why I'm not a, I don't host a podcast anymore.
Starting point is 00:04:54 What do you mean? You are so good at hosting your podcast. I can't talk about dating. I mean, I love talking to Dean. that's why I did it for so long. You love talking to Dean. Hate talking to my wife. No, no, no, no. I love talking to you as well, but it's, you know, I talk to you every single day of my life. Not enough. Not enough.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Not enough. We could always talk more. I would agree with that. But, you know, both of us working full time, two kids comes up with a lot. The anniversary is wonderful. It's very sweet. We had a very nice night. And, yeah, the weather was nice.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I mean, Ashley, we're on a podcast, about the weather. Okay, Jared. Well, I mean, I was just trying to, you know, paint a picture. Heather watched, Heather, producer Heather, she watched our proposal for the first time in a long time, if not the first time last night. She couldn't quite
Starting point is 00:05:41 figure out whether she watched that season or not. And she asked the question in our rundown, when was the last time you watched back your proposal? I don't think we ever have. We watch our wedding video like pretty much every anniversary.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Yeah, the wedding video is far more meaningful. Yeah, we... The proposal like it keeps cutting back to Kevin. Why would we want to watch that? We don't watch that. It's very odd to the point to which Jared and I debated whether or not that was a good choice. No, it was definitely a good choice, hindsight. Well, when we first watched it, when we got our screener, we were pissed.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Yeah, but also it was the right choice because the moment itself was wonderful. No, I know. The actual moment. The edit we didn't like, yeah, in person that day was wonderful. Wonderful. Fantastic. The edit of it on the show was super annoying. It was fine.
Starting point is 00:06:35 I think we overreacted. And I also think that they could have made it more about the moment rather than making it more of a storyline within that season. But, you know, reality TV. Yeah. It's fine. Pros and cons. You know, and all things considered. All work out.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Very harmless. Do you still have the outfit you wore from that day? Yes, I do. I, is it in that quote? The day of the proposal. Yeah, I have the dress. It's either in my sentimental box in the basement where I have like some sentimental clothing.
Starting point is 00:07:07 It's probably where it is because I don't think it's in that closet behind me. You. Well, I don't know if I'm sure I'd have to go back and look. I don't remember exactly what I wore. I think it was just like a white linen button down. I might still have it. I might not still have it. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:07:21 What is a funny story is at our rehearsal dinner, Jared wore this shirt. I like this shirt. It was like this blue little flowered shirt. And our nanny. may or may not have when I was doing a yard sale recently taken the wrong box and put it out there. And Jared is like going through all the yard sale items like while they're laid out. And he's like, um, why is this out here? And why is that out here? Yeah, there's so many cool things. And then one of them was buying the shirt that I wore for our
Starting point is 00:07:52 rehearsal dinner. I'm like, Ashley, you always save everything. You make fun of me because you think that I'm not sentimental, even though I intentionally kept this shirt. And then you just had our nanny go through my closet and just pick out things that you wanted to get away. No, it was in a box downstairs that was Jared's like sentimentals. Yeah. And she pulled it out as if it was a donation box. Anyway, all right.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And what did we get each other? Is our last question from producer Heather. We didn't even talk. Oh, the seventh wedding anniversary is supposed to be wool or copper, which would be an easy gift. to do something wool, I suppose. However, Jared and I are so tired of physical items. We didn't even contemplate either of us getting each other or anything. No.
Starting point is 00:08:43 It's just wasted money. Like, I love that you got me for our sixth anniversary. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise, which is my shindig, and it was a week before our anniversary, and he got me an expensive Royal Caribbean emerald necklace, and I love Royal Caribbean, and I love Emerald, so he got that for me. And that was a way overpriced item for something that we would normally gift each other. But always very appreciated.
Starting point is 00:09:06 And like that, I will always remember that. No, yeah, I spent a decent amount of money on her necklace last year. So I was like, well, I'm not going to buy her anything. Plus, she didn't get anything for me last anniversary. And so I was like, I know she's not going to get anything for me. This anniversary? Totally fine, obviously. I actually think that
Starting point is 00:09:22 at this point in where we are, like, quality time is a better give than any other. thing. We are never really physical gifts people. No. And plus we're very lucky being this being a part of reality TV that we get gifted a lot of things. Yeah. So it's like there's just so much inside the house. It's like do we really want to add to the clutter? Let's save the money and use it towards, you know, a vacation with the kids or a dinner or something like that. Dinner was wonderful. That was so good. So I don't even think we
Starting point is 00:09:56 would really think about getting something for each other, unless it's like a time and place thing, like last year until 10 years. Or an event or an experience or something. Oh, yeah. Oh, you know, we're, I got tickets to a Patriots game or something like that. A Jonas concert.
Starting point is 00:10:13 You go to enough Jonas concerts. Don't be judgy. I'm not judgy. We're going to see Aaron Tivate together. Well, you're going to figure that out. No, I already figured that out. That is one thing I've truly converted Jared to, which I love so much.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Okay. So let's get into Bachelor headlines to talk about weddings and engagements. Tyler Cameron is engaged to his girlfriend of two years, Tate Madden. We are not surprised by this news. We are super happy. Tyler is such a great guy.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I just love Tyler. Every time he's on this podcast, babe, I just'm like, this guy is such a good guy. And he had all the opportunity to get sucked up in the Hollywood movement and was for a minute.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And he just does not care anymore. And I love it. He just wants to build houses and do a little, social content with his soon-to-be-wife. Nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:01 You'd like never hung out with Tyler. I met him once. Yeah, it's crazy. It was in L.A. We were, it was after a premiere or something. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:11:10 it was out of premiere. I think it was a Spider-Man premiere, actually. No, I don't think I've ever been to a Spider-Man. Oh, really? Might have been Star Wars. Wrong story short. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:20 I mean, congratulations. I know they've been dating for a while. They're a beautiful couple, clearly. And congratulations. Congratulations. That's awesome. Yeah, so cute. And it was like, it looks like a simple engagement. It took place on Florida as a little Palm Island, so by their house.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And, um... I wonder if she has any relation to John Madden. You don't hear the last name Madden too often. Not really, but also Benji Madden. Who's Benji Madden? The Madden brothers, you know, Benji and what's his name? Who are? Married to Cameron Diaz.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I have no idea. And Nicole Ritchie and from Good Charlotte. The Good Charlotte Brothers. Okay. Yeah, you don't know that those are Benji and Joel Madden. Nope. Okay, well, they met. They met, they did not meet in 2022.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yeah, they've known for each other for a long time. I believe they've done, I believe that they've been to get, they've known each other as friends for a very long time. And then started really having something, something, while filming his home renovation show going home with Tyler Cameron. She did photography and stuff for the show. And then they hard launched the relationship in September of 2024. And it's just really cute.
Starting point is 00:12:38 And I'm really happy for them. And can't wait to talk to Tyler next time about it. My SUV is worth more than ever. Time to upgrade. There's never been a better time. I'm Eli Rallo, and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, and that is a Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives,
Starting point is 00:14:04 smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro Society on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months.
Starting point is 00:14:25 I survived, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have, have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up, don't say anything. Every week I'm with survivors who lived through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them.
Starting point is 00:15:07 There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook. Every episode we're trying to help our guests improve their careers by mainly focusing on how they can help us improve our career.
Starting point is 00:15:30 The show is famously super accessible so you can easily jump into any of our 650 episodes and understand what's going on. We recommend some of our recent episodes with Ben Stillard. The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere, too, right? What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride. He loves Nova. Oh, that's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:15:52 And you make it on, you make your own. That's great. I call him tarot read. It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Yeah. I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobieski. Yeah, I don't think she was an American Pie, but I still like that.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Haven't looked it up. Haven't looked it up. She was prominent around the same time. Yeah. Then Mary Steenbergin. Why are you guys talking to me? I'm worried. I'm worried.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Why are you talking so down to me that you think I don't understand your little play, play game? I just really, I get it. I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood. Handbook on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Hoda Kotbby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotbby. If you know me, you know, I'm always searching for inspiration and useful tools to maximize joy.
Starting point is 00:16:46 So this podcast lets us uncover those things together through meaningful conversations with fascinating people. Like when my friend Henry Winkler offered advice to aspiring actors and, really anybody hoping to stand out. You're not hired just to fill time and space. You're hired to fill the space with you. You have something in your guts. You go with it.
Starting point is 00:17:11 And Sean Johnson recalled the moment she realized her now husband, Andrew, was the one. He was just so unapologetically himself and knew nothing of Hollywood. He hadn't been on a plane before without his family. It was so pure. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby on the I Heart Heart. radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Next up is Bachelor and Paradis Lom, Joe Mablae. He reveals his scar amidst his brain surgery recovery.
Starting point is 00:17:50 The two of them did a really funny reel. Did you see that? Yeah, like the Harry Potter one. It's fantastic. It's so good. So I don't even know Harry Potter, but I know that that was thing. So she's dubbing over the voice of Serena goes, So is it true?
Starting point is 00:18:06 do you really have the scar? And then he bends his head over and shows the scar when he lifts up his baseball cap, you know, because he's got a pretty decent-sized scar, kind of like the length of his hairline after his brain surgery from last week to remove the tumor that he had. And then Serena goes, wicked. So it's very cute. I like the fact that they, like, made light of this moment. But, of course, he's doing very well. So Joe told us immediately after the surgery that they got the entire tumor.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And it has been diagnosed as a very low grade astrocytoma. And that is a type of brain or spinal tumor that may result in headaches, seizures, nausea, mood behavior changes. It seems like the surgery went well. And I mean, that's all you can ask for. And he seems to be having a positive attitude. I mean, that's all you can do. It's so much easier for us to sit here. and say, like, you have to kind of be positive and try to certainly not make light of it,
Starting point is 00:19:07 but keep on laughing and keep on living your life. But it seems like he's doing that to the best of his ability. And, you know, obviously, we just wish nothing but the best for him. And I just, I had great vibes for him. I just felt like I was like, this is just going to be a blip. And I'm so glad that Prenovo picked up on it. Yeah. Shout out to Prenovo.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I mean, we love Prenovo. We're going to go get our scans at the end of September, early October for the second time. doing about like every year and a half. All right, guys. Next headline is also medical related. Ari Lyndeike is going to be getting his second vasectomy after having his first one reversed. So as you guys may or may not know, before a couple years ago, Ari got a vasectomy. Because they thought that after having the twins, three kids total, that they were done.
Starting point is 00:19:57 A couple years goes by. They realize that they're not done. They wanted a fourth child. So he went to go get the vasectomy reversed, which is like a four-hour, very delicate procedure. And we all thought that he was nuts when we saw him at Alon's wedding. Yeah, he told us he was getting reversed. Like, you are insane. He said it was the most painful experience he's ever had.
Starting point is 00:20:19 He said the vasectomy itself was fine, pretty seamless. And then getting it reconnected was the worst pain he ever experienced. Like, dude, now you're getting another vasectomy? Dude, his balls must just be like. Today is a great day to get a vasectomy. He wrote on his Instagram story, Hope a laughing gas is fun. So I guess they numb you physically in the ball area.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Then they give you laughing gas. Yeah, okay. We've been thinking about Jared getting one. We'll see. I just keep thinking it seems silly. I don't know. It's like. Why is it silly?
Starting point is 00:20:56 I don't know. Why is it silly? Because I think we'd still worry anyway. congratulations to us both. I'm not pregnant. I definitely have my full-blown period. Yay. Good news.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Every month we do this, guys. Every month. I should get a facetomy. This is probably, but you know that vasectomy is not like perfect until like a year later. It's like you have to like a year. You just got to play the odds. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Well, Jared doesn't mind. So, and I'm on the pill. And for some reason, even though I'm still on the pill, I freak out every month that we could be having a third. So congrats to Lauren and Ari for somehow, Sainly having four children, we are just getting by with a sliver of sanity with two.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Barely, we're keeping our head above water here. We're just constantly confused, like, if our children are different. Not so much Dawson. We know Hayden's different. Yeah, it's crazy. If we had three Dawson's, we would absolutely do that. Hayden is, like, three children and one. Well, Hayden is just at a, he's also at a very tough age.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Two's tough. No, he's been tough His entire life. Well, he got better. Yeah, he had better at two. So, I mean, Hayden is newly, too. Give him a little while. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Well, this is, as Ari says, the second time I got it reversed, I was out cold. This time, I've gotten to a new doctor who does laughing gas, so I'm hoping this goes smoother. Huh. So he didn't like going. Oh, when he says he was out cold, does that mean he, like, he said it was traumatic? Does that mean that he was put asleep for it? or that he was just scared and like fainted. Maybe he was scared and fainted.
Starting point is 00:22:33 That sounds like something I would do. And he says, honestly, I can't complain, doesn't hold a candle to giving birth, so wish me luck. So, and then he was treated when he got home
Starting point is 00:22:43 to a basket of snack, sourpatch kids, Twinkies, milk duds, nutty buddies, and frozen peas. Sounds like a good time right there. Wow,
Starting point is 00:22:53 what's up with all this dick talk? Chalk Chapel, you know, Jones Chalk. He got his prostate removed in a cancer scare. He said he had something happened when he got off the show, had a blood test that was shown that he had an elevated PSA. So we monitored it for a while. My PSA kept increasing.
Starting point is 00:23:12 So long story short, biopsy and MRI and another biopsy. And it turned aggressive. So last week I had my prostate removed and made the decision to go ahead and just get it done. He said, my son asked me how much time I wanted with my grandchildren. And that's what made the decision easy. Get it removed. Be around for them for Joan for the rest of my life. He and Joan have been together for quite some time now.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Like, they're a real deal. Oh. So cute. Oh, no. Susan Knowles confirms breakup with boyfriend. How sad. I did not know this. Who's this?
Starting point is 00:23:48 Susan's from the Golden. You know Susan. Chris Jenner look alike. Aw. She had a boyfriend for about a year now. How old is Frederick? I was hoping. I hope he's 25.
Starting point is 00:23:59 No, no, but he was foreign. He could barely speak English. Amazing. And so she didn't care. She just felt the... Why would she? Yeah. He lived in St. Martin.
Starting point is 00:24:10 And she was going back and forth to St. Martin a lot. And in a new episode of Bachelor Happy Hour Golden Hour, Susan confirmed that she and Frederick have broken up. She was chatting with Kathleen and she said, I'm struggling. I love Fred. Frederick. And what makes this so difficult is I'm at the point where... I was really questioning whether loving someone is enough when you know there are fundamental things that may not work out long term.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Like for instance, we're in such different places financially and have been, have different expectations about lifestyle and retirement. Things may not work long term. And I'm just trying to listen to my head as much as I've always listened to my heart. And then she also said, she ended it. It was the most difficult thing she's ever done. And if I'm being completely truthful, I saw some things pretty early on, ignored some red flags. I loved all the attention. My problem is when we have chemistry with someone and I'm having fun and I'm feeling loved.
Starting point is 00:25:06 I'm very good at convincing myself that other things will all work themselves out. And I realize it's a pattern and I ignored red flags. So, well, my heart's with you, Susan. I know that he made you very happy. But, you know, your head in your heart are telling you different things. I'm sure this is for the best. Yeah, life's too short. Just end it.
Starting point is 00:25:29 That's my advice right there. It's like at the point to when you get to a certain age, I feel like you're, you know, it's like, why are we wasting each other's times? Let's just move on. It's okay. You'll be okay. I'll be okay. It sucks, but we'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:25:42 So our final two headlines are about going Instagram official with people. Peter Weber has a new girlfriend. So Peter had like a new girlfriend for a while and then he like never announced that. that he split up with a girlfriend, which is like fine. It's not like the girlfriend is like a public figure. It's not like anybody has to like to announce breakup. So that's kind of refreshingly different in this world that we live in. But he's no longer with this girl.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Now he has a new girlfriend. He's supposedly been with her for a few months through the grave behind. We hear this. And now he's posted a photo dump on Instagram, including her. Caption is summer 2026. and they look cute. She is still a mystery woman. We don't have a name.
Starting point is 00:26:27 We don't have a tag on social media. But friends are commenting in the comments saying like, ooh, he. So we're happy for Peter. Peter's a sweetheart. We hope the best for him as well. I wonder if she'll write a book about him. The shade. Someone's been hanging around housewives too long.
Starting point is 00:26:48 I know. Wait, that's shady? I feel like that's more shady towards Julie than... That's what I mean. That's what I mean. Yeah. There's no shortcut for saving time. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed, and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced.
Starting point is 00:28:58 But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook. Every episode we're trying to help our guests improve their careers by mainly focusing on how they can help us improve our careers. The show is famously super accessible so you can easily jump into any of our 650 episodes
Starting point is 00:29:29 and understand what's going on. We recommend some of our recent episodes with Ben Stiller. The definition of what is a movie has kind of changed anywhere too, right? What do you think it is now? It's images and words being spoken, captured by some sort of technology. Danny McBride. He loves Oh, that's fantastic. And you make it on you make your own. That's great. I call him tarot read. It's a good name. They're all named after cast members of American Pie. Yeah. Oh, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:29:58 I call, I don't, I never looked up if she was in this, but I call him Leachie Sobieski. Yeah. I don't think she was an American Pie, but I still like that. Haven't looked it up. She was prominent around the same time. Yeah. Then Mary Steenbergin. Why are you guys talking to me?
Starting point is 00:30:12 I'm worried. I'm worried. Did you understand the movie? So down to me that you think I don't understand your little play, play game. I just really. I get it. I'm trying to set you up for success here. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I'm Hoda Kotbby, host of the podcast, Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby. If you know me, you know, I'm always searching for inspiration and useful tools to maximize joy. So this podcast lets us uncover those things together through meaningful conversations with fascinating people. Like when my friend Henry Winkler offered advice to aspiring actors, and really anybody hoping to stand out. You're not hired just to fill time and space. You're hired to fill the space with you. You have something in your guts.
Starting point is 00:31:04 You go with it. And Sean Johnson recalled the moment she realized her now husband, Andrew, was the one. He was just so unapologetically himself and knew nothing of Hollywood. He hadn't been on a plane before without his family. It was so pure. Listen to Joy 101 with Hoda Kotby
Starting point is 00:31:23 on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Wonderful news for our friend Jill Chin. She has revealed that she's had a boyfriend for a whole year. Oh, yeah. And they, she says the love of my life, which is so great, which is so wonderful, considering we saw her leave paradise last year, so upset. You know, everybody was crying for her because she's just like, why isn't it ever me?
Starting point is 00:32:00 What is this? I can't find the guy. I can't find anyone to be interested in me. Like, it was such an emotional thing. And then what's ironic about it is she was probably already dating this guy when that episode aired. Because it aired about a year ago now. And she's just saying they celebrated their one year of being together. Yeah, Paradise was last year.
Starting point is 00:32:26 The East Paradise filmed in June of last year. That's crazy. It feels like May, May, I think. think, actually. So yeah, she was definitely with this guy, which is so sweet. And she said, it's been more than a year. It feels like it's been years since Paradise. Okay, you know what? Speaking of having timetables turned, I agree. This, I couldn't figure out last night when I was reading this. I was like, had Paradise aired a year ago? It feels like forever ago, actually. Have we had a season of Bachelor, right? No. Oh, we had, um, we had a delightful man's golden.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Oh, the one that, with all due respect, I'm sure he's in this guy, but nobody like. He was like a jerk. Yeah. What was his name? Why am I blanking to Harry? Why am I blanking to? No. What is his name?
Starting point is 00:33:12 He was the football guy. Yeah, I know. Wait, why am I having an absolute brain fart? Mel. Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Man, so you're telling, man, that's crazy. that is crazy when you put in perspective all we've had
Starting point is 00:33:34 what was the last Mel and Mel ended like the first week of November What was the last Bachelor or Bachelorette season we got? The last Bachelor Season was Jens Two years ago because it was canceled last year No way it wasn't Jens it was What's his name?
Starting point is 00:33:49 Grants Yeah Grant was the last Bachelor Or Bachelorette season Yeah That was a year and a half ago Yeah The finale of that was in May I think
Starting point is 00:34:01 March? Was it March? I don't know. I'm now losing all track of time. Who is the Bachelorette before that? Jen. So Jen and she was on Joey's season. Yeah. So it went Joey and then there was like a big boost back up. Yeah. And then Jen.
Starting point is 00:34:19 And it was like decent. And then Jones. Oh, Jones, the golden bachelorette. Yeah. And then Grant was on Jens. And then that didn't do great. Yeah. And then Paradise.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Yeah. Grants, Gens was not, didn't do that great in the ratings. It was okay. But I thought it was an entertaining season. But Joey's was like the big boost up. Yeah. So like it's pretty much confirmed that Taylor Franklin Paul season is just never going to air. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:43 No, she's messed up too many times over the summer. That's crazy. So that's, man, that's. That's a long time. That's a long stretch. Yeah, we'll go an entire calendar year without having any bachelor. And it's confirmed that it's going to come back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:58 It feels pretty. Yeah, it's greenlit for Bachelor. Bachelor. We don't know who The Bachelor is going to be. No. Assumptions were it was going to be somebody from Taylor's season. I don't know. But I was like, why don't we just really clean start?
Starting point is 00:35:11 Really clean start. And also, like, let's really stunt cast again with somebody that we can trust. Like, we have, it has to be someone semi-famous. What does that? I'm not even talking about fame. I think he does need, I think this Bachelor needs to be famous. No. What if they just go, go pick somebody that everybody loved from Bachelor?
Starting point is 00:35:29 Like Gary? because Gary. Oh, because Gary was a random choice. No, no, not random. Not random. Jared, all of our former favorite bachelor, bachelors, you know, like. Peter Weber single? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I mean, not Peter Weber. Peter is married. Peter hot Peter is married. He's married? Yeah. With a baby now. Peter Krause is who Jared is referring to. The bachelor that Jared and I always.
Starting point is 00:36:00 wanted to be that never was. Yeah, the Silver Fox, bro. Fifty shades of gray. He was supposed to save the franchise, and they never did it. Who else? Who would be... 50 shades of gray.
Starting point is 00:36:11 It would be his entire, that entire thing would be it. But, you know what, it wasn't in the cards, and now he's so happily married. To a girl that I one time met, like, we are, the both of them were on the podcast once ago. The two of them together.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Yeah. But Jared, the weird-ass thing is that she and I met after I'd only just done Chris's season. I was going into paradise. what we hadn't filmed it yet. And I met her at a meet and greet in Florida. And I hit it off with her so much that I followed her on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:36:38 And I've like kept tabs on her life for the past 11 years. Yep. And then she ends up meeting Peter and now they're married with a kid. Isn't that the weirdest smallest world thing ever? Who is the most beloved? I'm going to. Most beloved bachelor's at contestants of all time. They're all married.
Starting point is 00:37:03 They're all married? All right, here we go. Here we go. Greg Gripo. Greg Gripo. Okay, that's good. That is good. Gregopo.
Starting point is 00:37:13 This is it. This is it, guys. This is it. This is it. Just do it if any bachelor producer. He's the first one that pops up on this. Beautiful. What's the website?
Starting point is 00:37:26 TT. It's in terms of night. 50 unforgettable bachelor at contestants. Yo, Greg Gripo is the answer. Cast Greg Grippo. ripo as whatever it is, the bachelor. Do, yeah, I don't even need to keep looking because they're all, it's all like people that are.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Most of this list are married. Oh, there you are, babe. That's very sweet. It's just impossible. It's all, this is it. Most of these guys are married. This is it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:55 I know I keep seeing it, but this is it, guys. This is your last stand. See? The reason I get grumpy is because, like, with all due respect, it's just like, I love that people get engaged in and and love and it's like, but I don't have much opinions about it. I can talk about logistic things. This is my man brain. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:38:14 Like, we can talk about production and writing and season and ratings and things like that. That's fun to me. Like Tyler and what's his got to? Tate. They're a beautiful couple. They're incredibly popular. But it's like, that's all I have to say about it.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I'm like, I'm so happy for him. I wish them the best. But like this stuff. They're like truly, truly cute. Like I'm just telling you that they're. They're just not like a regular couple to me. Like, even if I didn't, like, I've never met her. But watching them on social media feels like I know that, like, them together as a couple.
Starting point is 00:38:45 And they, like, really adores. I mean, I have nothing. They kind of remind me of, like, us when we were, like, young, wild and free. Wild and free. They'll have kids. They'll get depressed. But, um. Will they have an Audrey's, though?
Starting point is 00:39:03 No, I don't have an Audrey's. That's really, that's the killer. It's not the kids, Jared. That's so mean. But, no, I mean, obviously, I love the kids. The reason I feel comfortable saying that is because I would... Yeah, if you saw the way he declares his love to the children, like, it's just like over the top. It's like borderline romantic.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Yeah, I mean, I just love them so much. They're the best things that ever happened to me. The whole family, Ashley and the two kids, the best things that have ever happened to me. But with this, get Greg Grippo. Because here's the thing. He's denied paradises, you know what I mean? So pay him. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:36 He'll just pay him. You've already lost probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars on Taylor, Frankie Paul. Why would we go back and be like, let's do it, celebrity or another reality personality? No, get the franchise back. Try to bring it back. Try to bring back somebody old school, especially Katie's season with everything that she's gone through, like to bring that back in the forefront and then have Greg Grippo as
Starting point is 00:40:06 the lead. He's charming. He's good looking. He's got all the friends that he could bring along on the journey. Because like he's got such that close group of friends. But I also love that he has that close group of friends because I bet that he's just a nice guy. Like if he's friends with Justin and Andrews, like Justin and Andrews are just two really good people. So if they're friends with Justin. Blake Moynes, yeah. If he's friends with them, he's a good dude. And we met him one time at Nick's his engagement party. Yeah. Yeah. And he was very nice.
Starting point is 00:40:37 And he's, like, really good looking. Yeah, like, nobody's going to look at Greg and be like, eh, he's not my type. Like, he's pretty universal. He's very good looking. Slap a tux on that, dude. Yeah. Put him in front of The Bachelor Mansion. We're looking at his Instagram right now.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Like, he's kind of like a crossover between Aaron Tivay and Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling. I see Ryan Gosling. Dude, like, he's got, like, flow, gray hair. Don't cut it. Let it, like, let's just do it. Hey, Jared's passionate about it. Because it's like, if we want to bring the franchise back,
Starting point is 00:41:06 if we want to like have Bachelors start ingraining itself back in pop culture. You need like a splash, but also you need somebody who's from the franchise because you just can't do this. We tried it. And you did the right thing by trying it with Taylor Frankie Paul. You did the right thing, Bachelor. I'm not saying you did the wrong thing. You took a chance. You made a gamble and you put all of your eggs with Taylor Frankie Paul.
Starting point is 00:41:31 And obviously it just blew up in everybody's face. And I'm not even saying I blame that. on you. Take a swing. I respect people and businesses and companies that take swings and take chances who don't just play it safe. But now you need to take another chance, but you need to do it in a different realm. And I think by taking a chance on someone who is extremely popular within the Bachelor fandom and also someone that's pretty universal, like that dude just looks like he could be a leading man. How old is he? 33. Perfect age. Let's go. Because 30. You can cast 26-year-olds and you can cast 35-year-olds.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Like, it's such a great wide range. I'm in. I'm in, too. Let's just do it. What are we waiting for? And now it's- Jared, I'm taking the mic from him. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:22 It's a great, good, bro. That was the passion I was looking for at the beginning, babe. Put this at the forefront of the podcast, and then it'll just go downhill after that. I love my baby boy, Jared. He's such a good, he's such a passion. and your eyes are so green and beautiful right now. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:42:39 They're green? They're so green. You really don't have... You really don't have brown eyes. They dropped a new trailer for Dr. Doom. They had close up of his eyes and his eyes are green and Robert Dinah Dure does have green eyes. So everybody's like, are there more than one Dr. Doom now? Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:54 And this is what Jared used to do on his podcast too. And then Amy would be like, stay on topic. Isn't it more enjoyable? I would love to have a poll. I like going off topic. too. My favorite thing about the Jonas podcast is that they literally just bro talk for 30 minutes. And it makes me smile through the entire thing. It doesn't seem like there's any sort of agenda. And I love podcasts about an agenda. Yeah, I would rather just talk. Because that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Like, I can't stay on topic. I'm sorry. Unless the topic is something that I'm incredibly interested in, then I can't stay on topic. You asked me to come on this podcast. You know what I mean? And so, like, I'm going to talk. I know I got the producers talking Oh yeah, have them on our hotline. Good, call. Yeah, yeah, this is what, this is what Heather is suggesting that we have our listeners call about their opinions on Greg Grippo being the bachelor.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Call 8445 almost. 8445 almost. Just leave a message and it's not scary. You're not going to have one of us pick up. And then you're just going to be like, this is what I'm thinking about Greg Grippo being the bachelor. All right. Or give us more suggestions.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Or give us more suggestions. But that seems it. That seems it. Because we will no longer have Peter Krause ever be our bachelor, we have to do this. Well, it's not even about Peter Krause. I'm thinking about the new season of The Bachelor now. This is the last stand, it feels like. This is it.
Starting point is 00:44:22 If this goes sideways, it goes downhill. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We can't. It's our final chance. It's the final. It kind of feels like, man, I don't know, like, you know, you're telling me everything that's happened over the past couple of years, including the Taylor-Frankie Pulse stuff.
Starting point is 00:44:34 And then we have a new bachelor. and it's like, eh, yeah, that wasn't that good. Katie's season was so far removed. I mean, it was actually relatively close. Like, Jesse, oh, it wasn't Jesse who hosted that one. It was Caitlin and Tasia, but it was after the whole Chris Harrison thing. So it is recent memory. It's like recent.
Starting point is 00:44:51 In my hem, it's modern day Bachelor, not our generation Bachelor. But Greg still brings home to something that feels nostalgic, and that's what we sort of need. But he also, he's also young. He's young, but still feels nostalgic. That's why I feel like it's a perfect choice. Yeah. Yeah, he was so young on KDC's, and it must have been like 27.
Starting point is 00:45:17 We all were. We all were. I was 26 on Kansas. I know, it was 26, too. I can't believe we thought we were ready to get married back then. So stupid. I would have married you then. Would have made a difference?
Starting point is 00:45:28 Would you have married Chris Souls? No, of course not, but we met you at 27. And we could have get, yeah. And we weren't ready. Yeah, no. I don't think we were ready. that we had it unfolded was for the best I agree for sure
Starting point is 00:45:39 but I'm sure we still don't have it was still been fine if we got married at 27 maybe not for you no it probably would have been like I still wasn't done seeing if there's anything else out there no no no no very sweet now I'm pretty sure that's what
Starting point is 00:46:00 did happen Jared sort of no guys are stupid I'm stupid that's so sweet All right. And until next time, I've been Ashley. I've been me. He's been the grumpy old man.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Grumpy old man. I love you guys. Bye. Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast on IHartRadio, or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
