Well, Dakota, luckily it's I'm not afraid of a scary story week on the OK Storytime podcast. So we'll find out soon. This person writes, My neighbor has been blasting music every day and doing dirt rituals. and now my ceiling is collapsing. I try to report them, but things keep getting
Starting point is 00:01:32 weirder. I think they might be part of a cult. Hold up. A real-life cult? And what is a dirt ritual? No clue, Dakota. To find out how it ends. Listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Hey, I'm Kyle McLaughlin. You might know me as that guy from Twin Peaks, sex in the city, or just the internet stand. I have a new podcast called What Are We Even Doing, where I embark on a noble quest to understand the brilliant chaos of youth culture. Each week, I invite someone fascinating to join me to talk about navigating this high-speed
Starting point is 00:02:08 roller coaster we call reality. Join me and my delightful guests every Thursday. And let's get weird together in a good way. Listen to what are we even doing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Chicago. A white woman's murder. a black man behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. 90 years for killing somebody I have never seen.
Starting point is 00:02:35 The Crying Wolf Podcast is the story of a corrupt detective, two men bound by injustice, and the quest for redemption, no matter the price. Listen to the Crying Wolf Podcasts on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous. podcast with iHeartRadio. Hello, everyone. It's Ashley and producer Heather
Starting point is 00:03:03 is also joining us again for headlines today. Let's just jump right into it. First headline is Grant Ellis opens up about his celibacy journey. So he's been on social recently, kind of like talking about how he's going to do this show. I think it's going to be on YouTube, but I'm not really sure. And it's going to be about helping guys
Starting point is 00:03:25 basically like hold out until you find the right person and like he's still like you can be like really cool and suave but still in being celibate like you're waiting until you find the right person and like God's going to like set this up for you but like I'm going to teach you how to kind of like be cool and do it that's kind of what I'm I'm gathering is his show is going to be about and I think that the show might be kind of like I've been like I've been. just guessing here kind of like queer eye but like this is more of like an actual straight guy thing or it's like his plan is that he's going to like take these guys and make them cool and celibate act this is like really respectable i'm sorry what were we call the version of queer
Starting point is 00:04:11 eye but for celibacy queer eye for the celibate guy oh my right straight the grant eye for the celibate guy I'm also just like assuming based on the content that he's putting out that this is like where he's going with this and I'm totally you know me guys I'm totally down for this celibacy journey of his I think this is nice it's refreshing he's following God's path for him this is great but what to me and I know makes Ben sorry to throw you under the bus Ben makes Ben feel comfortable that he's calling himself basically a dating expert.
Starting point is 00:04:55 He says, me being the most recent bachelor, I feel like I have a little authority in the dating space. And that's what the show is about. It's about dating. The thing is, Grant, you were the bachelor, but like, you didn't do it really successfully. So I'm not really sure if you have an authority here. It's just, that's where you go a little bit, uh, cringe um also where i think that it's a little like it's a little funny it's a little cringe he says whenever this woman comes into his life when we do have sex he says it will be great i am very good that's the most cringe part about this is honestly guys this is the only reason this is really a headline because he says i'm very good my whole thing is i'm down for the
Starting point is 00:05:45 celibacy like do that if that is like would you call yourself a born again virgin i don't know yeah i think it's like to each his own right i think if that brings you like closer to god and it helps you to get in touch with like what you want in a relationship and you're not like your brain isn't clouded fine it's the being public about being celibate that i'm a little bit question mark about because why not just do it and not talk about it but if you're saying it's more about training other guys, then I guess that makes sense when he's so vocal. He's trying to say, like,
Starting point is 00:06:20 this is a great path for me. I want other people to know that it can be a great path for them. I think that's why he's sharing. Now, to give your point of view credit, I do think that if you ask famous virgins of their time, Jonas brothers, Bernie Spears,
Starting point is 00:06:37 they will tell you it's never a great idea to talk about publicly because sometimes you change your mind. Also, we're not that far removed from said Bachelor time, right? We're just a year out. So I think, like, let's give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he hasn't had any since his time on The Bachelor. So we're talking.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Well, actually, I say, like, bravo, props. That's so awesome that, like, he's taking dating that seriously, that he's not sleeping around with random girls just because of his fame. And I think it's super awesome. I totally agree with that. I do agree with what if you do slip up. Now you've been so vocal about this. What's to say somebody doesn't turn around and be like, uh,
Starting point is 00:07:23 and like come forward and try to like dismantle this whole thing. That's the only problem that I foresee happening in the future. But props to grant, I think do what you want to do. I think it's great. I'm just like concerned about whenever people make huge public declarations and then life happens or things happen. people are always so quick to come back and be like, well, you said you were going to do this, this, this, this.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Yeah. Well, he does say, I'm a man. I've had my urge, my urges, my desires, and I'm just being fully transparent. I have messed up in the past. So I think he'll probably just say, hey, guess what I messed up. I think if he's going to be like on, if he's going to be speaking about this on a platform, I think that based on just how he's talked about on social media the past couple weeks, I think that he'd actually admit to having mess-ups if that were to come.
Starting point is 00:08:17 So we'll see. All righty, Jeremy Simon, you know, Jeremy and Bailey Brown, they are raising funds for cancer research. And we just wanted to put that out there that her goal for her team, which is in support of pancreatic cancer research, is $5,380 this week. So if you can go over to Bailey Brown's Instagram. I'm sure she has a link up there. Her dad passed away from pancreatic cancer three years ago, three years ago to this week. So this is her way of honoring her dad. She has a purple stride team.
Starting point is 00:09:01 So there is a walk or a run for pancreatic cancer. It's on April 25th. She definitely wants to raise this amount of money, 5,300. dollars totally doable let's let's help her out here um she wants to raise it by then but specifically if she can do it this week because it's been three weeks this this week since her dad passed away for patriotic cancer can i just say that for people coming off of reality shows especially them right this they're just fresh off of paradise um and i i understand totally that this is a personal connection to bailey but this is the kind of stuff that i love to see
Starting point is 00:09:41 reality stars using their platforms for if you are given a huge following or if you have eyes on you like nine times out of ten i don't want to see you doing a haul i want to see you doing stuff i know messages that are like important to you and can help lives and like help spread awareness on something so you know for somebody like me who walked away from watching paradise and wasn't maybe the biggest fan of jeremy i saw this headline i was like go jeremy i actually really like that you're doing this, that you're supporting your girlfriend, that you guys are giving back to something that is personally connected to her and her family and can really help others. So if anybody listening is able to donate and help, I think this is a great cause, and I really
Starting point is 00:10:25 commend them for using their platforms for good. Yes. And the link to donate to her Purple Stride team is on her Instagram bio. And her Instagram, if you guys, don't follow her, is Bailey Taylor Brown. Yep, guys. Thank you for putting that out there. I'm so, so sorry to Bailey for losing her dad. This way, pancreatic cancer is the absolute worst. Oh, in other sad news, Caitlin Bristow has an update on her dog, Pino, who, you know, Pino and Robin are just like pretty, they're pretty famous dogs. And if you follow Caitlin, you know how much her dogs mean to her. She got some really sad news last week at the vet cardiologist found out that he has um he has heart disease and she's not sure whether
Starting point is 00:11:20 it's genetic or not um doesn't know if it's like something they can like you know treat i've got a text her and see if they figure that one out yet because i know she posted about this i think on thursday night but she's going to be doing everything she can to help you know live as long as he can medicine acupuncture supplements she said i don't even know how i'm going to do this but even extra love and she's very sweet she says that like she's trying not to let her sad energy affect pino uh i have great faith that if anybody can extend a dog's life expectancy it'll be kately this one kind of pulled up my heartstrings just because i know kately has been through so much publicly in the last few years and how much these dogs have been her support system through
Starting point is 00:12:08 this through all of her different transitions. And so we're all, you know, thinking about Pino and wishing him a safe and healthy recovery for something like this. It's absolutely awful. I'm sure all dog parents feel the same. And I just met him, you know, for the first time a couple weeks ago. And he's just wonderful. And like, you know, his brother Raman needs him there for sure. Those guys are attached to the hip. It's so sweet. All right. Leah Canyon. You guys know Leah from Joey's season in this past season of Bachelor in Paradise. She teased last month that she's seeing someone new. And now she's on TikTok talking about where they are at in their relationship.
Starting point is 00:12:49 She said, I don't know how to date casually. Like, are you in love with me or not? I only know how to be a wife. No. I need your opinion on this because I'm a little concerned. Just because I will tell you I'm concerned after I tell you. what she did. So she says, me and this guy are yapping it up. Why do I hate the expression yapping it up? Like that just, oh, I hate, I hate what it's like this and yap. Oh, I hate it. I don't
Starting point is 00:13:23 know why it grinds my gear so much. What did you just say this and yeah? Yeah. You know, like on Instagram when people are like, they'll be like cheersing or they'll be like watching something and they'll be like this and yap. I've literally never heard that before in my life. That's hilarious. Oh, my God. It's like, it's supposed to be like gossip, basically, like this and gossip or like this and just chatting with your girls, you know? Oh my God. I can't stand the expression yapp. Yep. Sounds like yak. Like throwing up. Like yippy yak. Okay, but she says me and this guy are yapping it up. So that just like, oh. And then she goes, we're talking. And he told me he got sick. And I'm going to drop off a bad. And it says, feel better. So then she shows everybody what she's putting together for her boyfriend, her situation ship, the guy she's talking to. We don't know if there's a label on it because she doesn't call him boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:14:25 She said, I have a ginger shot that I made, a homemade ginger shot, a bag of green tea, dayquil, nightquil, emergencies, a sourdough bag. French Brie, Theraflu, Zicam, and Vaporub. I'm Filipino and we Vaporub. I wrote on the bag, Get Better Kit. If this man is not my husband, I'm going to institutionalize myself. At least she has a sense of humor about that. She's a little tongue and cheek, a little aware that this may be going above and beyond the amount of CVS. But we also need to break this down a little bit.
Starting point is 00:15:08 bit. Okay. Yeah. Okay, go for it. Dairy when somebody is sick is definitely not the move. If I'm sick and somebody sends me brie and a baguette, um, I don't know. I think that's phlegm inducing. I think it is, it is, but I don't think about that when I'm sick. I'm just like, give me whatever I'll eat and a grilled cheese is usually high up on the list. I'm sorry, a brie grilled cheese. No, a regular grilled cheese, like an American grill cheese. Okay, but like, what's he doing with Brie and a baguette? Are we just making fun right now? Because I don't want to just make fun.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I'm being serious. Okay. I think she's just thinking like, oh, it's a cute little snack. But yes, you are correct to be technical about it. I just, I'm like, where's the soup? Like, where's the soup? The soup? Where is the soup?
Starting point is 00:15:59 See, when she said sourdough baguette, I was like, oh, to dip in the soup. And you're right, the soup isn't even on the list. I'm a little confused, Leah. I'm a little confused by this Get Well list. You had me until you said Baguette and Bree. Everything else seems good. It's, I'm just confused. What's up everybody?
Starting point is 00:16:25 This is Snacks from the Trapner's podcast and we're bringing you the horror every week all October long. Kicking off this month, I'll be bringing you all my greatest fear-inducing horror games from From Resident Evil to Silent Hill, me and Tony bringing back fire team on Left for Dead 2, and we're just going to be going over some of the greats. Also in October, we'll be talking about our favorite horror and Halloween movie, and figure out why black people always got to die first. The Umbro Reliquary invites any and all fooling, brave enough, to peruse its many curiosities. But take heed, all sales are final.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Weekly Horror Side Quest written and narrated by your show. truly with a full episode read and a commentary special and we will cap it off with horror movie battle royale jason versus freddie michael myers versus the eightie thing with the little tongue muster october we're doing it halloween style listen to the trapners podcast from the black effect podcast network on the iHeart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast here we go hey i'm kelpen and on my new podcast here we go again we'll take today's trends and headlines and ask, why does history keep repeating itself? You may know me as the second hottest actor from the Harold and Kumar movies, but I'm also an author, a White House staffer, and as of
Starting point is 00:17:44 like 15 seconds ago, a podcast host. Along the way, I've made some friends who are experts in science, politics, and pop culture. And each week, one of them will be joining me to answer my burning questions. Like, are we heading towards another financial crash like in 08? Is non-monogamy back in style? And how come there's never a gate ready for your flight when it lands like two minutes early? We've got guests like Pete Buttigieg, Stacey Abrams, Lily Singh, and Bill Nye. When you start weaponizing outer space, things can potentially go really wrong. Look, the world can seem pretty scary right now, because it is. But my goal here is for you to listen and feel a little better about the future. Listen and subscribe to here we go again
Starting point is 00:18:27 with Cal Penn on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you guys. get your podcasts. I live below a cult leader, and I fear I've angered her. Well, wait a minute, Sophia. You know she's a cult leader. Well, Dakota, luckily it's I'm not afraid of a scary story week on the OK Storytime podcast, so you'll find out soon. This person writes,
Starting point is 00:18:47 My neighbor's been blasting music every day and doing dirt rituals, and now my ceiling is collapsing. I try to report them, but things keep getting weirder. I think they may be part of a cult. Hold up, Sophia, a real-life cult? And what is a dirt ritual? No clue. But according to this person, contractors are tearing down the patio to find out what's going on with their ceiling and her neighbors are not happy. Well, she needs to report them ASAP.
Starting point is 00:19:14 She did. And now they've been confronting her in really creepy ways all the time. So do we find out if this person survives their neighborhood cult or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Yes. Hey there, I'm Kyle McLaughlin. You might know me as that guy from Twin Peaks, Sex and the City, or just the Internet stand.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I have a new podcast called What Are We Even Doing, where I embark on a noble quest to understand the brilliant chaos of youth culture. Daddy's looking good. Each week, I invite someone fascinating to join me, actors, musicians, creatives, highly evolved digital life forms, and we talk about what they love. Sometimes I'll drizzle a little hunt. in there, too, from feeling sexy in the morning. What keeps them going?
Starting point is 00:20:04 And you're maybe my biggest competition on social media. Like, when a kid says bra to me. And how they're navigating this high-speed roller coaster we call reality. In Australia, you're looking out for snakes, spiders, and fuckwise. Right. Hey, he's no train McDougall. This is like the comment section of my Instagram. Join me and my delightful guests every Thursday, and let's get weird together in a good way.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Listen to what are we even doing on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Crying Wolf Podcast is the story of two men bound by injustice, of a city haunted by its secrets, and the quest for redemption, no matter the price. White victim, female, pretty, wealthy, black defendant. Chicago, a white woman's murder, a black man behind bars. a crime he didn't commit. I had 90 years for killing somebody I have never seen. He says the police are his friends
Starting point is 00:21:05 and then that's it. They turn on it. A corrupt detective. How he was interrogated the techniques. That's crazy. A snitch and a life stolen. They got the wrong guy. But on the inside, Lee Harris finds an ally in his celly, Robert, who swears
Starting point is 00:21:21 to tell the truth about what happened to Lee and free his friend. If you're with me, your goal to I'll take care of you. I'm going to be with you. You stuck with me for life. Listen to the Crying Wolf podcast, starting on October 22nd, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Halloween is around the corner, and your favorite podcasts are serving of episodes that are so good, it's actually scary.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Sex in the City meets Severance when Adam Scott joins Kristen Davis to discuss the haunting relationship. between Big and Natasha on Are You a Charlotte? And 911, what's your emergency? The new episode of Call It What It Is, of course. 911 Nashville co-star Kimberly Williams-Paisley joins Jessica Kapshaw and Camilla Ludington to talk about her health scare, her superstar hubbyed Brad Paisley, and her memories on the set of Father of the Bride with the legendary Diane Keaton. Oscar winner Brie Larson is a work in progress.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Sophia Bush finds out why, and waltz right over to Danielle With, because Danielle Fischel has fellow Dancing with the Stars contestant Dylan Efron on to talk about the ballroom, the leaderboard, and more. Listen now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Heather, I took a little break. We went and we watched the actual TikTok, and now Heather has more thoughts. My guess would be that it's early in the relationship, and maybe they've had a a charcutory board or something at some point.
Starting point is 00:22:55 And she's like, I know what he likes. Brie cheese. I'm going to send him Brie in a baguette. Or maybe my second theory is, oh, do you need some help eating that brie and that baguette? Maybe I can be your nurse and I can have something to nibble on while, I mean, these are my theories, Leah. This is what I'm going with. Because otherwise, when you're sick, why would you send Brie in a baguette? Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:20 So I am not as phased by this cheese sampling. However, I am scarred. This is what I was referring to earlier. Because one time when Jared and I knew each other, well, we were friends, obviously, and I loved him, but we weren't together. Friends. And I don't think that we, I don't know if I found out about this story
Starting point is 00:23:42 until we were together or not, because it had to do with him talking to another girl. So he was talking to another girl. And he also casually mentioned he wasn't also very into the other girl or so I was told and like I think that maybe they were supposed to meet up no no they weren't she lived in Florida
Starting point is 00:24:03 so okay so he's chatting with some probably bachelor fan in Florida and he thought she was cute yapping yeah with the bachelor fan in Florida and this girl ends up sending Chinese
Starting point is 00:24:21 wonton soup to his house at nine o'clock at night he gets a knock on the door and there were like Chinese delivery and he's like what? And he's like somebody sent you wanton soup. Oh, I remember now
Starting point is 00:24:37 because he wasn't comfortable giving out his address. He gave his parents address. So then his parents call and they're like, Jared, why did you order Chinese food or Chinese soup to our house at nine?
Starting point is 00:24:50 And he was like, oh my gosh, it was this girl. because he said he wasn't feeling good and like I don't even like that sounds like something I would do so like the thing is this that girl just like sent soup which is kind of adorable and also like in a way heartbreaking just because like I know Jared and like he probably like wasn't that into this girl and she just was being thoughtful and cute and then he was like oh gosh I don't really like her and she made this really sweet gesture so I just like fast in that moment that like that could be me and that's why I'll I'll remember that story forever and this is and and because I knew that he was like not really into her that like I just have like a little concern for Leah that maybe she was just yapping it up with this guy and then like he didn't really feel like seeing her and then and maybe I'm totally wrong there's a good case I'm totally wrong when I say this. But maybe he just didn't feel like hanging. And then he was sick.
Starting point is 00:25:57 And then she dropped off a whole CVS. She spent a lot of dollars at CVS with the amount of fresh things that she bought. Let's not forget she made the ginger shot. So that's appealing, pulsing in the blender, you know, and then bottling. That's a lot of steps for a ginger shot. I'm going to say, Leah, you do sound like wifie material. 1,000%. Like, you are going to take care of a man so well one day. And I want to know what care package are you getting from this guy in return once he is well? Because if the answer is nothing, then stop yapping.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Bye-bye. This guy is gone if he does not give you a care package as a return gift. Yes. Now, Leah, again, like, I'm sorry, we are not really making fun of you here. but I just I we're really not because like this is like deep care and you did make fun of yourself or possibly being institutionalized after this I just am worried it was a little early to use this much effort and I really hope that it pays off and that you guys are more serious than like it may seem because when you're just yapping it makes me a little concerned that like this is
Starting point is 00:27:14 going to freak him out and that maybe he doesn't deserve all your time. Okay. That was a lot on one thing. But now we'll move on to somebody who is currently actually wifey material because she is an engaged woman. Daisy Kent, she got engaged last week. We talked about that. Congratulations to her and Thor. They're thinking that they're going to get married this timeish next winter. Next winter. And she said that she's surprised that she wants to have a winter wedding, but her sister had one. So it was so beautiful that she was. now wants to have one. She's thinking maybe Utah, because that's where she and Thor rekindled their love. And they're thinking that they want to do something that, like, is like a major city where people will have a lot of hotels and they'll be able to fly in and out easily because she said that they're going to have a pretty big wedding because they have big families and a lot of friends, especially from college. We all know that she has, well, we probably don't all know. She actually has a podcast right now that I heart about sororities, fraternities. So they
Starting point is 00:28:22 have the whole sorority and fraternity basically having to come to their wedding. So they're hoping to do it at a big winter wedding venue in Utah or Minnesota. Have you ever been to a winter wedding? Because I haven't and I honestly think that they're pretty unique and cool. I think everybody gets married in August, right? Because I got married in August. I'm a summer girl. Like, I feel pretty when I'm sweating. So, like, it had to be, it had to be a summer thing. Like, that's what I feel pretty is. It's like a little sticky in like a saltwater environment. But I totally see Daisy looking beautiful as a winter bride. Yeah, kind of like giving Elsa vibes or something. Or yes, yes. Jade and Tanner had a winter wedding.
Starting point is 00:29:13 but it was in Southern California. So it did get cold. And we were out there freezing. It was probably like 50, but it's 50, you know, and it wasn't going to snow. I had like one friend who got married in New Jersey in like February. And I actually didn't go to the wedding. I was invited. But I remember seeing her wedding photos and the snow and everything.
Starting point is 00:29:37 And I was like, this is freaking beautiful. Like, why don't more people have winter? weddings. I think it's stunning. I'm sure people in Canada do, and I'm sure people on the East Coast do. But on the West Coast, I really don't see it that often. And when I saw this headline, I was like, that's pretty cool, Daisy. Like, I think that that's unique and me. That is cool. I'm thinking about all the weddings that I've been to. And it's so crazy the way that people like kind of like X out any month in like December, November, December, January, February, March, April. Like, those are just like off the table for weddings.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Totally. It's so funny. All right. Well, Heather, thank you so much for joining me. You will also be joining me on another podcast that we're about to record about our first impressions of the new Bachelorette cast. So stay tuned for that. It'll be full of judgment. We know you guys love those episodes.

Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcasts on Iheart radio or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. What's up, everybody? It's snacks from the trap nerds and all October long. Starting point is 00:30:48 Bookety, boogity, boogity. We're kicking off this month with some of my best horror games to keep you terrified. Then we'll be talking about our favorite horror in Halloween movies and figuring out why black people always die further.
Starting point is 00:30:58 And it's the return of Tony's horror show, Sidewise written and narrated by yours truly. We'll also be doing a full episode reading with commentary. And we'll cap it off with a horror movie Battle Royale. Open your free I-Hard radio app and Search Trape Ners Podcast.
