This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Hey, everyone. Welcome to The Almost a This podcast. It's Ashley. And it's you, Ben.
It's me. After all these years, you know, we're introducing ourselves. I don't know why I did. I just did.
I mean, I hope people, hope people know.
Ashley, I got to tell you a story as we kick this off.
Okay.
You know, as we mentioned weeks ago, I was going to start quite a bit of travel.
I've been in that and I've been in two different airports now.
But this, where people have came out to me and said, I just love listen to your podcast.
This week was a really incredible week where I was sitting, getting ready to get on my flight, home from D.C., sat next to a guy.
he goes my and he just says like hey my wife listens to your show and uh tells me kind of out
their story he ends up buying me my drink oh it's very sweet of him um super nice guy and then
at the same time somebody came up from behind and uh she shared a story that she was on her way
to her father's celebration of life in arizona and she said that i've she's listened to us
since the very beginning absolutely loves a show she said i love ashley ashley uh she's like
Like when I first watched her on TV, I didn't think I could relate with her.
But the more I get to know, Ashley, I can relate with her so much.
Oh, my gosh.
So I just wanted to share that with you.
Some very nice people have been coming out in airports just to say they listen to the show or they, you know, maybe their girlfriend listens to the show.
It always makes me feel warm inside.
Yeah.
You know, it's exciting.
But, yeah, I just want to give that little shout out.
And that, again, Ashley, you are still loved and you always will be loved.
And at the same time, we have a lot of love to talk about this week on Paradise.
And so it's a big episode, Ashley.
I know that you are fresh off of watching it.
So your thoughts are very clear.
Yes.
I'm fresh off of watching it as well.
And I just, you know, that was the first thing I did this morning as I watched Paradise.
This is quite a way to wake up and have your coffee is watching Paradise.
Yeah, it's nice.
I just pull my laptop onto my lap, get a couple of things.
of coffee. It's great. This episode was overall
just like confusing to me in some ways.
Okay. Why? I guess we'll hit on them as we go through.
We will start with the first big storyline,
which was the fact that Sam hasn't pooped. So she will be leaving
again, confused the theme that she didn't try an enema.
Yeah. She must have kind of wanted to leave.
She must have kind of just wanted to leave, right?
I mean, you know, my thought there was I was confused to until the end,
and obviously we're going to get into that, where Aaron S. kind of has his moment.
I was wondering if she kind of had already started.
She probably just didn't like him.
She wasn't like convinced and she's like, I don't feel good and this isn't working for me.
So I'm going to go home.
They didn't seem compatible, to be honest.
The more we get to know him, I'm like, he's drama.
He's angsty.
and she just seems well-adjusted.
Yeah, I mean, even in the midst of a very weird time,
she was just kind of chill and cool about it.
And I don't think there's anybody that I've ever met in my life
that would have handled that situation with as much, like, grace and just comedy
and also, like, realness as she did.
I'm sure it was embarrassing for her.
She's going home.
I would say I'm shocked that it didn't happen.
really thought this was all a teaser to like for it to happen at some point yeah i was very surprised
there was going to be like some silly like the turtle thing like they were going to do so many things
they were going to like shoot fireworks or something and definitely thought it was leading up to
something that they were going to make funny and then at the end of the episode to realize it's
truly not funny because she's been gone for two days and she still hasn't gone assuming that she's in
America and you know maybe maybe she's gone to the hospital now but who I'm hoping she posts on
Instagram an update like hey she's good I like it's been months now like I think I think we need
to get an update like hey it all it all worked out I do want to know the whole story like I feel
guilty because it's weird to like no space private business like that but yeah she should
definitely post an Instagram real explaining the moment it actually happened uh not explaining
I didn't say leave the details out.
Okay, well, tell me how many days.
Tell me how many days.
And did it happen at home or was the hospital?
That's what I mean.
And I would love to know from Sam, like, what was the feeling like of jubilation?
I don't know.
It probably hurt like hell.
I would like to know that.
But I don't need the details.
I don't need the details.
But I need the details.
Yeah.
But that's the big storyline at the beginning.
And then it goes away.
And it probably should.
We've talked about it for weeks.
It's been in every teaser.
It has its own animals making fun of it.
It's done.
It's gone.
But I do just think we should end it, Ashley, with being very clear that we are on Team
Sam.
We feel really bad for her.
There is nothing embarrassing about that.
Nobody is judging her.
In fact, I hope nobody on any date and for the rest of her life brings it up to her.
She can bring it up.
That's fine.
Like, hey, I'm known as the girl who couldn't poop on Paradise.
But just really a big fan of Sam.
And I'm sorry her, her chapter ended like this.
Totally.
Totally.
All right.
So next big drama is John Henry comes down the stairs.
And John Henry's cute.
And I get why everybody's into him.
He kind of has a pilot Pete look.
Okay.
And Cat seems like she's complimenting him a lot.
And he also pulls Kylie and Olivia.
And he ends up asking Olivia on the date.
I was surprised by this because they seem like,
complete in total opposites.
This guy is relaxed,
just bro-y.
He's also awkward.
He's very awkward.
Yeah, but like,
socially very, like, shy and kind of.
Endering.
Endearing in so many ways.
I don't think, that's not,
I don't say awkward in like a bad,
in a bad way as much as like, I just don't,
he's not as smooth as it is.
Which I like.
Like, I like the fact that he's hot,
but doesn't have this.
like ego is not cockiness to go with it.
And he's interesting.
He has a great story.
I would argue back to you,
Ashley, and say that the Olivia
John Henry relationship makes sense to me
only because in my life,
I have so many people who have been married
for their lives
who are very similar, right?
The guy is maybe a little shyer,
more awkward, quieter,
kind of just like enjoys his things.
then his partner is usually like more outgoing like boisterous and he just kind of sits back and
smiles and he he loves it and he laughs at it and he's so appreciative that she keeps that like
humor and spark in the relationship and that she's so loved by everybody and she's so extroverted
and the guy's just kind of more quiet i i know many couples like that and it works because
they they both love the uniqueness of each other yeah it's definitely an opposites attract attraction sure
And I can see how she made him comfortable because she's so not shy that it made the date not awkward because she was just like pulling it along.
Could you imagine if he did pick somebody who was a little bit more subdued that it would just be like maybe pulling teeth?
But they had a great time.
Yeah, it'd be very quiet.
Yeah, here's the confusion for me.
I watch this date and then make out in the pool.
and have this cute chemistry.
And I was like, why is she even considering Peter at home?
As they wrap the date, she's like, I'm excited that I get to have like both of them right now.
And I'm like, I don't know about you, but I am sold on John Henry for you.
Peter, you gave him a rose because like there was nobody else to give a rose to.
Or like, or he gave you a rose because there was no one else to give a rose to.
You guys don't have anything?
He might be the safe choice.
He might be the safe choice right now.
Why? Because, like, he's less sought after.
He's left sought after.
And the John Henry deal, I think she understands who he is, right?
She knows that he's nervous and he's a little awkward and he's shy.
And I think that definitely, like, pulled her in and she was very attracted to that.
But I think there's probably still a question in her mind of is, but is it like, is this really somebody I want to hang out with more?
Like, is he going to get comfortable?
And I think we saw it.
We saw it.
Yeah.
We saw it towards the end of the date.
Um, yeah, I, I, I wonder if the, the whole Peter drama there is maybe a little overplayed.
Like I don't, I mean, I think she is excited to have both of them, but like a more of a love triangle for TV than it really is.
But then they end up making out. And she was like pretty giddy about it. And my thought is like, if you come back from a date with somebody that you really like and made out with and you're like ready to make out with somebody else, I guess you really weren't that sold. But she came back so giddy.
Yeah, it's interesting. It's going to be a relationship that I,
think we're going to be very fascinated to follow.
You know,
I've been very clear since the beginning.
Mercedes and Olivia from week one were like two people I thought
we're going to have big personalities on this show.
We haven't seen as much of Mercedes,
especially this episode.
But we,
you know,
we got to see her one-on-one last week.
Olivia has continued to be the narrator for this season.
And she's done a great job at it.
She's really great at it.
She is funny.
Still scares me a little bit,
but a lot less,
especially since Cat is the one that scares me the most.
Yeah, Cat definitely, I would much rather be on Olivia's bad side than I would like to be on Kat's bad side.
Yeah, because Olivia is going to like shame you with words and like in conversation and cat's just going to scream at you.
Yeah.
And we really haven't seen, I mean, we've seen Olivia be mean, you know, kind of in the ITM's interviews.
Yeah, snarky.
But we haven't seen her exactly, like, lash out at anybody or belittle anybody on the beach.
I mean, I think you could definitely pull those interviews and be like, yeah, she was not being kind or she was definitely upset with somebody.
But I don't think, and again, I'm a fan.
I'm biased here.
But I think Olivia doesn't want to hurt people.
I think she felt like she had to kind of protect herself and defend herself at the beginning.
in the midst of something that she thought was like really mean and as we keep going through
paradise it's happening every week now and so nobody you know it's maybe not as mean as it felt
before because it's like yeah everybody's stealing each other yeah so true it was just like our
shock effect okay the next thing that happens is that john b arrives and again i'm a little
confused um well i guess i get confused later and i guess i'll jump ahead to it
he ends up picking Eliza for the date.
And Eliza is obviously got something good going on with Aaron B.
And I like the way that Aaron basically said,
I don't want you to go on the date because, you know,
I like it when people are really honest like that.
But then she goes on the date and they make out
and they have what seems to be a great time.
But the confusion, the theme of the show, comes back.
When she comes back and she goes,
I was thinking about you all day long.
And I'm so happy to be back.
here with you. And she's basically telling Aaron B that she's picking him. But you were just
making out with someone's doing the top of the stairs. Where are you at, girl? Well, yes. And I think that's
probably one of the things about Paradise that confuses me the most is how exactly do you figure out who
you're into and who you're not? Because as, you know, John Henry said, like everybody here's good
looking. Like everybody here has the physical attraction to each other, right? It's a beach full of good
looking people. So then you get into kind of the personalities and the beliefs and the desires and
the values of each person. And, you know, then you really start to figure out like who you like
and who you don't. But I still think that for me, it's hard to watch. Sometimes you're hard to
understand because the physical attraction is so prevalent always that it just feels like you got to
make out. And then once like the dust settles and you get back to everybody, then you
probably have some clarity on. But I'm really actually into this guy.
because he, you know, cares about me more or, hey, he believes in this or, hey, we've shared these
conversations together. I don't know. But I do just feel like that's the danger of paradise is
everybody's so attracted to each other that you can make out with anybody at any time. And it's
going to feel right, you know, as long as you're not, you know, dating somebody else.
I, um. But she was dating someone else. I know. But like, are they really? Like, that's the,
that's the part. That's what I'm trying to get to. Everybody kept saying that they were like this
most solid couple there.
Well, maybe not anymore.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam.
Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon.
This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot.
He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Now hold up, isn't that against school policy?
That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age.
It's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not?

Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.

I wonder, Ashley, if there is a piece here because we are starting to get into this every week
where you and I are both coming to the table, watching these separately, coming to the show and saying,
hey, there's confusion. I'm wondering if this season of Paradise is maybe not storytelling as well
as past seasons and closing up or continuing on with stories. So as a result, we are left
confused. Like we are left with a bunch of cliffhangers. We are left with the whole picture
where maybe in past seasons we felt like we had more of an ability to tell what each person's at.
Because quite honestly, if Eliza and Aaron B are the most solid couple, we haven't seen that much from
them that points to them being that solid.
And so it doesn't feel weird that she would go on a date.
But then everybody's shocked by it.
Aaron B is really saddened by it.
And then she gets back and she's back with her and B.
But we have no context for why that relationship feels so powerful.
because I don't think
that we're getting the stories
that maybe in past seasons
that we were getting.
Yeah, we complain about
storylines not closing last season two.
And I do feel like there was
like a lot of stuff
during this episode
that they could have clipped shorter
and we could have given us
more context in these relationships.
Who knows what we're missing?
But I do prefer
Eliza with Aaron B
they're just based on what
the little we've seen.
I just feel a little bit more depth
from them.
I think he's very serious
about this relationship.
Um, and then, um, you know, just to add in there, one last thought, it's interesting with all
the stuff that starts happening this week, that Aaron B and Braden really have, you know,
everybody's talking about the Sean Braden drama, like how they were like, they've closed,
you know, that drama pushed it behind maybe until this week. But we haven't really seen any
Aaron B. Braden conversation or drama. And that was such a storyline during charity season.
Yeah, there's no drama.
there, but we do see the drama
between Braden and Sean.
Sure, but don't you think
the Aaron B, Braden drama?
Oh, yeah, I'm so happy. It's gone.
Yeah, I mean, it was so, it was kind of
annoying, actually, during charity season, where
it felt like that, you know,
the special thing, Aaron B really didn't like him,
and he was trying to protect himself from him. Maybe they're running
in two separate groups in Paradise, and so
there's really no crossover, and so there's no reason
for drama. No, I think that he just likes
him now. Okay, good. Yeah, I think
he's just gotten to know him better, and I think, because
it's not a direct competition between them.
There's plenty of girls to choose from.
And yeah, they're not overlapping with girls.
It's been good.
But yeah, let's talk about that drama between Sean and Brayden
because I think Sean really kind of deserved it.
Yes, I need to.
Yeah, okay.
I mean, so Sean is just being a dumbass.
Sean is really still hung up on Jess.
There's no chance.
for him and Jess, but this is all proving to me.
This whole episode was proof to me
that Jess and Blake don't really have
anything serious.
Maybe.
You know, they're like good to,
they like each other for now,
but I don't think they're like unbreakable.
Sean was weird in this episode
because I do think he's right
in the fact that he was seeing
the writing on the wall,
that Rachel and Sean are not progressing
in a path that feels like it's going to work out
and that she kind of has her eye on whoever else comes down to the beach.
They've made out like,
once in seven days, okay?
And I can say it now, but remember, and I think,
I don't know whether we cut it out or not in the episode a couple weeks ago.
Yeah, but I texted Rachel, and Rachel said I forgot that I even kissed him.
So, like, you guys have nothing.
And, Sean, don't act as if you think that Rachel really likes you when you guys have
kissed once in seven days.
Well, and that might be, that might be what he's feeling, but he's not communicating
it well like it doesn't come off well when he's talking about how much rachel likes him also i don't
quite understand where his mind was at i think he's kind of swirling here um and his mind's in chaos
because he says that jess kind of stabbed her in the stabbing in the back yeah and i'm like why
like how she doesn't like you yeah like i did you guys come to paradise saying that you're going
to date maybe you didn't but that's not even that bad like if if she got to paradise and like
somebody more like that's how that works and whatever but we're at what point did she like hurt you
or like personally like make you feel less than because you've had no relationship that we've seen
and she's been very honest with that and she was very nice about explaining that hey I just don't see
it man sorry like I'm good that was a reactionary comment because he just felt so wounded
that he shot his shot and got rejected and in the meanwhile
loses his backup, his rose, which is from, quote, quote, from Rachel.
But who the heck knows?
Even with him not doing that, I don't even know that their, quote, relationship would have lasted
through the rose ceremony, Sean and Rachel, because it's a mingling session.
And it's like, you know, Sean's a smart dude.
He came on the podcast, you know, you and I both had a great time interviewing him because
he was very open and he's dramatic.
He's dramatic.
I think
so I'm confused at what his strategy was here
like how did he see this playing out
how did he see a path forward through this
what was the best case scenario
because okay say justice says
no I'm so into you Sean
then he goes back to Rachel
and he has to anything that was her
I don't think she's that hurt
but then he has Blake
sitting there being like dude
what do you like okay cool
like what are you doing about this
and then obviously with the
the Braden drama
then he brings up Braden again
and he opens up this can
that has been closed and I'm with Brayden to get on this.
I do wildly, I don't know how this has happened in my life, Ashley.
I have no idea how this has happened.
That you like Braden.
Yeah, I'm Team Braden right now.
It feels like from every angle he's kind of getting like shots taken at him.
And he's just like, I don't get it.
Why would you do this?
I thought we were good.
It's just weird.
Yeah, I just like him.
He's honestly doesn't seem like he's, he was like so dramatic and cannot.
a little bit on charity season and like now he's just like what up i'm grounded yeah i mean
sean is hurt by brain a little bit too and i get i get why yeah so how do you feel about
him going over to rachel and saying like hey he's talking to jess because he does he thinks that
you're really into him but he's not really sure um just saying i would have been so freaking
pissed if I was Rachel like she was and he goes yeah she's really into me but I don't know about
me like what she's really into me she and again she has to show no signs that she's really into
dude that's like him building up his own ego that's great it's great like what does he make a comment
about if somebody wants to come down that down those stairs and date a kendall like he's living
in this world way too much like he's believing this whatever people are telling him way
much. And as a result, it's backfying on him.
The Braden thing, I would have gone without. However, I don't think it was untrue.
And I, and I guess we have to gauge in paradise in this messiness on what is true and what's not
true. And what Braden said was not untrue. And so I can see where Sean would be upset about
it because there's a bro code, an unspoken bro code. But I also think, but I also think,
that Brayden at this point was saying he wants to talk to Jess. I see the door open. I'm
walking through it. So technically he could have not brought up Jess or Sean at all and just kind
of like hit on Rachel. And I think she would have been fine with it. I think she would be like,
I'm in. Yeah. Sounds good. Yeah. He didn't have to like break their relationship in any way to get a door.
I do see this relationship continuing, Ashley. I don't, I don't see Rachel and Braden
splitting apart on the beach.
They're super hot together.
I love it.
Their chemistry, the kiss.
I was like, woo-woo.
And they both have that kind of similar personality.
They match each other.
I see it.
And so I do think if I had to put my vote behind it.
I'd say that would be, in my opinion,
one couple I would say we'll definitely make it to the end of the beach.
I don't know if they're going to engage,
but they'll make it to the end of the beach.
Yeah.
I don't know that they're going to make it to the end of the beach,
but they're going to have a good time together.
Yeah. I mean, they're painting each other's butts in a preview, so.
I mean, let them leave together. I'd be down. I'd be down. Let's do it. I like them both separately, individually.
It would kind of be, you know, something interesting, Ashley, I thought of? Yeah.
It would be a very similar storyline to the Thomas Becca situation. Oh, yeah.
Where Ali comes the beach, dates the villain from his past season. That villain becomes very beloved by the audience and the two of them walk off the beach together.
Ben. Bravo for just coming up with that comparison because it's right on.
Okay, good. Good. I thought about that last night. Yeah.
Oh, amazing. Okay. I love that. Okay. Next big thing to discuss is the truth box, which Wells introduces, says basically it's whatever that post secret that we used to have in 2008 or whatever that was.
Instead of online posting your truths, you put your truths into the box and then at some point, Wells is supposed to read them.
Well, during the Rose Ceremony Cocktail Hour, Aaron S does the weirdest thing when Wells gathers the crowd.
He's going to read it and he's like, you know, Wells, the ones you're reading are really tame.
This is like, honestly, like, let's just say it.
This is a production move.
there's no way this guy came up with this idea in his head to be like, you know what,
I'm going to steal the box and break it.
Sure.
Okay.
We can say that, actually.
You're probably right.
But here's the deal.
And it's a great example of what we talk about episode over episode.
He could have said no to doing it.
Like this is not a forced production mood.
This is somebody from production being like, Aaron, I can see you're upset.
Oh my gosh.
How crazy is that Wells is doing this?
Like you have one night to try to meet somebody and get a rose so you can stay around
next week and you're wasting your time by reading these simple little, like, secrets from
people. Like, how angry you're getting? And he's like, yeah, I'm getting angry. Yeah. This is getting
more annoying. This is getting more annoying. And then they say, you should just step in and start
reading him yourself. And he's like, okay. And he does it. Like, he could have said no.
And then none of this becomes a thing. He liked, he probably wanted air time too. He knew he was
leaving. He's like, I'm going to leave with a wrecking ball. But it's how production works. And so
this is a good example of how production works where it's not forced upon you.
is a recommendation they start putting seeds inside you know of doubt inside your head and then you
make the decision to act on whatever it is they're saying and most of the time if you are not seeing
it clearly it's going to look really bad yeah there was a moment last year when jared and i were just
guests in paradise that we were around the same bar and somebody came down the stairs and they were
like actually are you curious about this and i was like no no no no no i don't no i don't i
am not my place. I am not saying that. Wells ended up saying it. And I was like, yeah, well,
that's Wells. He's like a host. Of course he can say that, you know. So yes, this is one of those
quick suggestion possible moments. And you can just quickly be like, uh-uh, I'm ignoring you.
Not doing it. I know. And I do want to say this. I haven't texted him yet. I was going to.
But, you know, Wells is one of my best friends in the world. I've gotten to know him very well.
and I've gotten to see a lot of different sides of Wells.
And for 99% of the time, Wells is Wells.
He's a blast.
But he does have a fuse.
And especially if you mess with a project that he's working on, that fuse gets shorter, right?
He's very professional.
He wants to do a good job.
And he wants to make sure things go and make good TV.
He's good at it, too.
Great at it.
when Aaron S. did this.
Oh, he was pissed.
Oh, well, that was a real Wells anger.
I know.
I loved it.
I've seen it, especially when he pushed a box at Aaron and said,
how about you read it since you broke it?
I was like, Wells is fuming inside.
And he wants to blow up.
Like, there was no faking it.
He had no clue that was coming.
Wells was so mad.
So mad.
And he should be.
He was so grossed out by him.
He was like,
ew.
Well's,
and again,
knowing Wells,
Wells could have absolutely word smash that dude.
Like,
you don't want to get in an argument when it comes with what to Wells like back
and forth.
Yeah.
Wells could have made that dude feel about one centimeter tall and like cry his way
off the beach.
But he didn't.
And that's why I think we just see Will sit back and stay quiet because he's like,
it's not my,
he's good.
Again, he's so good at what he does that he's like, not my place.
This is not my, this is not my battle to fight.
This is his battle to fight.
And I'm going to stay quiet because if Wells started speaking, it would have gotten really, really hilarious because he's good.
We missed out on that, but we still got the reaction and it was satisfying to me.
Just that clip of him standing there being like, you read it.
I was like, oh goodness, he is about ready to pop.
My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Well, wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit.
Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate.
Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor,
they're the same age.
It's even more likely that they're cheating.
He insists there's nothing between them.
I mean, do you believe him?
Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him
because he now wants them both to meet.
So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend
really cheated with his professor or not?

Imagine that you're on an airplane
and all of a sudden you hear this.
Attention passengers.
The pilot is having an emergency.
and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane.
Think you could do it?
It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane
with the help of air traffic control.
And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this.
Do this, pull that, turn this.
It's just, I can do it my eyes close.
I'm Manny.
I'm Noah.
This is Devon.

Okay, so the notes, they read Cat played Braden.
Okay, like, it's kind of a statement.
We kind of know, you know, Tanner should watch out for Kat.
It sounds like the same person wrote those two notes.
Who do you think it was?
Braden.
Okay.
Yeah, sure.
I think Braden was all about the truth, but I think he's like the only one that wrote in it.
Also, he's already said it.
her face, pretty much.
Yeah, I don't think there's any secret that it was Brayden.
No.
I think he stood at the bar, wrote a couple truths, and then, you know, even Rachel asked
Braden, like, did you write that?
And I think he's like, yeah, I wrote that.
Like, you and I should make out.
Yeah, totally.
Third note, I don't think Kat is actually looking out for just like she thinks.
And I actually interpreted this the different way.
I guess it wasn't listening very well.
I thought it said
I don't think Jess is looking out for Kat
is looking out for Kat
or there's actually some underlying tension there
in which case I was like, yeah, probably
because Jess was interested in Tanner
and there was no conversation
when she went out with Tanner.
And they're good friends, right?
Yeah, yeah.
The reason that matters is because off the show
they are good friends.
Yeah, but what would this mean?
I don't think Kat is actually looking out
for Jess the way she thinks
because I don't think Cat doesn't want to be with Blake.
I wonder if this is just kind of summarizing that...
Just not a good friend?
Yeah, like Kat at this point has had a lot of ideas
about what she's doing right and wrong.
And I think most people in the beach we've seen
have disagreed with her on what she thinks she's doing right.
Yeah.
And I think the beach is just saying Kat keeps talking about how she's,
you know, maybe a good friend of Jess or all these things.
And maybe we're not even seeing it.
but she's saying like, you know,
Jess is a good friend of mine
and I'm just trying to protect her
and all the, I don't know.
And the beach is like, no, come on.
You're not doing any of that.
Like you're not actually making the right decisions right now
or you have it in the past.
But I don't think we have a lot of context for it.
So I do think it's a confusing, you know, no.
If we don't, but I do think bottom line is,
this is saying cats about herself.
Like she's going to want to be with him.
Yeah.
fourth note braden and rachel should make out well we know that brayden wrote this too and um
cute i like it and that's when brayden pulls rachel and the cute kiss happens
that's what the whole thing starts so maybe brayden really did write all these notes
yeah and if he did good for him good for him and also here's the funny part ash you know
Aaron S's little tantrum didn't lead to anything positive for him.
In fact, it was a weird look.
People were kind of confused.
And I think he thought that if we got to some truth within this box,
then maybe he would get some attention.
Maybe he'd find his one.
I don't know.
But really none of these things that he read were even anywhere close to relating to him.
And so he just kind of read him and just made himself kind of look like a jerk.
Yeah.
And that was it.
And he just made Wells Matt.
So have fun getting good.
You know, if you do stick around, have fun getting any good cocktails from here and out.
Yeah.
And based on the scenes for the next episode, I did some deducting.
And it definitely looks like he's eliminated and it looks like Sean's eliminated because there was
one of the guys that was on the chopping block that ended up making it through.
And it probably made it through by the new girl who's coming down the stairs.
So we get this little scene of Aaron and Sean praying for a new girl.
and then all the sudden their wish has come true.
We got legs walking down to the beach,
but we don't know who it is.
So, okay, to close up this episode, then Ash,
who are the guys on the chopping block as this episode ends?
Okay, so Aaron, I suppose Peter?
Peter, that makes sense.
Yeah, okay, yeah.
John Henry then?
I guess John Henry, you're right.
and then um Sean John John B and then Sean Sean I didn't say that okay yeah and um and probably
Aaron B so if we throw in oh yeah well I wouldn't think so I wouldn't think so yeah okay
but yeah so there's in chopping block one new person is coming down to the beach
kind of live left on a cliffhanger we don't know who's going to be around next week but
there are 12 guys and seven women.
So as we note right now,
there's going to be five guys going home,
but we think probably only four.
Okay, it's a ton,
but we also forgot to talk about cat blowing up.
Yeah.
Okay, so cat blows up,
and now I'm not even remembering why.
Because it was so intense,
and I know that it was a huge overreaction.
It's, oh, it has to do with the whole Tanner thing,
because of the things,
In the secret box, she basically talks to Tanner and she's trying to defense herself.
And then Tanner was like, well, you know, Brayden did tell me about what happened.
You know, Brayden didn't feel blindsided and felt like he did a 180 on him.
And then Kat is like, that's his opinion, but it's totally false.
And then Tanner says that he and Kat are probably similar.
in a current similar situation than she was with Brayden before he walked down.
So I think he's just saying like, okay, like I shouldn't feel secure even if I do kind of feel secure.
And now she freaks out.
If this guy heard her reaction, there's no way that he'd want to be with her anymore.
And people were hearing her reaction.
I think that they did dub it over a little bit so it sounded clear to everybody down the beach,
than it actually was.
They probably just heard her like the sounds of screaming, yelling,
not like the actual words.
But this girl is off her rocker.
Yeah, I mean, I think she's panicking out a bit one second.
I mean, she shouldn't be panicking because she's the one with the rose right now.
Just show Tanner that it's not the truth of the matter.
Yeah, and I mean, I think she's panicking out a bit because I think she feels misunderstood.
Um, and I think at this point, she's starting to be confused at why everybody else is misunderstanding her intentions, um, you know, and why, and what she's done that's so wrong. And so it's hard probably to process for her right now why everybody seems against her. And they do seem against her. And I get that maybe that's causing some like conflict inside of herself. And then she's trying to protect herself, defend herself by, you know, reacting the way she is. Yeah. That's so true.
All right. Well, that is the episode of Paradise, episode four. Next week, we see that it's
Kat's birthday and they must ruin someone on every Paradise birthday every year.
Yeah, that stinks. Everybody must go out. Everybody's significant other must go out with somebody
else on their birthday. Here's my closing comment. They don't have to. And yet it feels like
every season they do it's manipulated it's in the way that they're like ah cat's birthday let's make sure
that's the day that so and so comes down so and so comes down well we're looking forward to the next
episode of paradise we're going to continue to break it down we're going to continue to kind of sure up
some of these storylines we're getting to the point in the season where the couples are going to get
stronger and we're going to start really recognizing the people uh that are in relationship i think as
of right now it feels like a lot of chaos and a lot of stealing and taking and i do you
think we're going to get some building upon some of the relationships
we've already seen. I'm excited
for that. But until next
week, I've been Ben. I've been
