Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. I'm Bowen-Yen. And I'm Matt Rogers. During this season of the Two Guys Five Rings podcast, in the lead-up to the Milan-Cortina-2026 Winter Olympic Games, we've been joined by some of our friends. Hi, Boen, hi, Matt, hi, hey, Elmo.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Hey, Matt, hey, Bowen. Hi, Cookie. Hi. Listen to two guys five rings on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. In the middle of the night, Saskia awoke in a haze. Her husband, Mike, was on his laptop. What was on his screen would change Saskia's life forever. I said, I need you to tell me exactly what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:00:53 And immediately, the mask came off. You're supposed to be safe. That's your home. That's your husband. Listen to Betrayal Season 5 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You can scroll the headlines all day and still feel empty. I'm Ben Higgins, and if you can hear me, is where culture meets the soul. Honest conversations about identity, loss, purpose, peace, faith, and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Celebrities, thinkers, everyday people, some have answers. Most are still figuring it out. And if you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Over the last couple years, didn't we learn that the folding chair was invented by black people because of what happened in Alabama? This Black History Month, the podcast, Selective Ignorance with Mandy B, unpacked black history and culture with comedy, clarity, and conversations that shake the status quo. The Crown Act in New York was signed in July of 2019, and that is a bill that was passed to prohibit discrimination based on hair styles, associated with race.
Starting point is 00:02:02 To hear this and more, listen to Selective Ignorance with Mandy B from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This is the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast with Iheart Radio. It's the almost famous podcast. Ben here with one of my favorite people in the world, Wells Adams. Wells, we got a lot to talk about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:25 How are you feeling today? Sluggish this morning. Yeah, yeah, me too. Ben and I had some fun last night. It was awesome. It was an amazing time. We got to play in this really cool golf tournament, which we can talk about in a bit.
Starting point is 00:02:36 And then we went to this concert that was sponsored and hosted by J-Cohen. And then there was some sort of auction for a good cost, the Monter Peninsula Foundation, which gives money back to first tea. And we decided it was a good idea to buy a $3,000 bottle of wine.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Yeah, we did. Yeah. Do I have $3,000 to spend on a bottle of wine? No. Absolutely not. I was reminded that this morning. Yeah. When I looked at my,
Starting point is 00:03:00 I have like the wiring instructions. Yeah. I was like, oh, yeah. That's one of those that hurts. Yeah, I woke up this morning talking to my wife and she goes, so how you feel about buying that bottle of wine? And I was like, oh, I forgot I did that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Now, here's the deal. It goes to a great cost. It's also eight bottles of wine all in one big jumbo thing. You can, you can check me on this. I think it's either called a Nebuchadnezzar or Methuselah, which is the largest bottle of wine. they make and it's gigantic. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:33 What are we going to do with a gigantic bottle of wine? I know we're both married so like we don't need to take it to a wedding. No. I told you today I think it would be a good idea you're doing your big golf tournament coming up this summer. Big Cedar, yeah. Why not take it out there? And I mean, we'll have like 30 guys to drink some delicious cabernet sauvignon.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And yeah, all on us. Yeah. And imported from the Monterey Peninsula. This is AT&T week for the PJ tour. That's why we're out here. We like to come to this event. You're from here. Yesterday we had a really cool opportunity
Starting point is 00:04:06 where we played in a part three competition at the Hay. Yep. Alongside Ricky Fowler and Alexa Melton and then the Pointer Brothers who are like YouTube golf influencers. TikToker guys. They do like the side eye like thing. This is a podcast. You didn't see my face there.
Starting point is 00:04:24 No, but it's really cool. And I think we need to have like a little bit of context. So we're in Pebble Beach, which is modern. Peninsula. Pebble Beach obviously have this famous golf course of which they're playing this weekend, but then also the U.S. Opens coming here next year. And it's just pro-M where, you know, it's all the PGA professionals playing alongside celebrities. It originally started as the Bing Crosby clam bake years ago where he would just have all his friends come and
Starting point is 00:04:51 croon and play golf and get drunk at the tap room and stuff. But then also in Pebble Beach, obviously there's a bunch of different golf courses and one of them is a small par three. course called the hay. Now, I grew up here. It was called Peter Hay. And it was a different layout, but I played a lot of like junior golf there. And now seeing, so Tiger Woods came in like five years ago and redid the entire thing. Redid the routing made all the holes look like iconic Pebble Beach holes. And so yeah, getting to play Jake Owen's part three thing at the hay. For me, it's like super special because I grew up working this tournament, coming to this tournament, being a part of this community. And so, yeah, like pinch me moment. And I think one of the things I always,
Starting point is 00:05:36 you've educated me a lot on the history of this, but for the listeners and knowing our demo, you know, I love to talk about golf. We hesitate to do it because I just don't think it's that interesting for so many listeners. Yeah, but women have husbands who play golf. A hundred percent, you know, but this event specifically is really special because of the clam bake. Like this was the who's who in Hollywood would show up, right? Yeah. It would be a big party. Kind of like, we did last night with Jake Owen's concert. It's like a big party. Everybody's dancing. Everybody's having a good time. You know, it's where you want to be seen. And it's now turned into a PJ tour event. So it's a little more like sanctioned and organized. Yeah. But back in the day,
Starting point is 00:06:13 it was literally a clam bake, right? Yeah, they would have, they'd play it at Cyprus and at Pebble. And it was a four day event and all the celebrity. It was a lot of singers and actors from like way back in the day, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and Sinatra. Yeah, all those guys. And so, you know, they would, they'd go play. And then those guys, I mean, they did it right. Like, they would, like, work hard and then they'd play hard. Like, they would go out and play golf. And then afterwards, they'd come back to the lodge, put on a giant concert for everyone,
Starting point is 00:06:44 croon until four in the morning, get up at six, go play Cyprus. Like, you can read all these old stories of, like, these old, you know, acting and singing greats coming to the peninsula and doing it. So there's a little bit of, like, the old ghosts here in this town that represent what that. tournament used to be. And for me, it's a special one. And I also just think that, like, objectively speaking, it's the, it's the best looking golf course in the world.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And then when you watch it on TV, even if you don't care about golf, the drone shots that they do going over, you know, 6, 7, 8, 9, the 17, 18 at Pebble Beach are just like iconic. The, I told you this yesterday. And I have in my last, like, 10 years of life, some of my best memories. with you. Like if I think of like my top 10 highlight moments, like you're a part of so many of those. And yesterday we're playing.
Starting point is 00:07:36 With the clothes on. With, well, sometimes. I can't say. Yesterday we're walking down the fairway. Ricky Fowler is there. All these pros are playing with us.
Starting point is 00:07:48 The oceans in front of us. And I like had one of those moments. I was like, I cannot believe we get to do this. Yeah. Like just it's one of those moments who are like, this is how life has worked out. And it's so,
Starting point is 00:08:00 special. It's also one of the reasons we had such a great time last night. If you've never been to Carmel by the sea or the Monterey Peninsula, I've been coming now for the last few years with the show. And it's always been just a spectacular time. It's one of the reasons why yesterday was so fun to me, too, is we got to play in the tournament. And then we went to the tap room, which is this iconic bar at Pebble Beach. It's a place that you just want to sit and people watch and talk to people forever at the bar there. and then we went to the concert and then we ended at Mission Ranch, right? And Mission Ranch is...
Starting point is 00:08:35 Owned by Clint Eastwood. Oh, is it? I didn't know that. It is like getting thrown back in time at every point. Like, it's the colors of it, the bar, there is a piano player, there are singers. One of the singers at some point last night
Starting point is 00:08:50 sat down at her table and was singing a song. And I think we sing with her. It's one of those places where even if you don't mean to, you're going to have a great time by just being in that environment. Yeah, like I said, like the old ghosts of, they still haunt this place and definitely a Mission Ranch. I told you last night,
Starting point is 00:09:09 but what's like special about Mission Ranch to me is that my grandfather, Busy, well, that's Portuguese for grandfather, he would go there and croon and play the piano and sing. And, you know, he was like in his 80s when he was doing it. And he was single.
Starting point is 00:09:25 And he was single. doing a lot of things in some of those rooms, Mission Ranch, I think. He's probably as handsome as you and the family is. I'm imagining this like 80-year-old Portuguese man with like charm and talent. Yeah, he was a really good accordion player. He was just like old school.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Yeah. A good accordion player would sound like Sinatra, but he would sing old Portuguese songs too, which I think made a lot of women weak at the knees, you know? Yeah, it might do it for me right now. So yeah, so every time, I go in there, it's like, I'm like, oh, man, this is where my grandfather used to try to take down scores. There's ghosts in this room. So an amazing week out here at the AT&T. Thanks to the PJ
Starting point is 00:10:12 tour again for having us. We're always excited to be a part of it and excited to support. Also, before we kind of dive into really what people want to hear about, which is your connection to the traders and some of the stuff happening around the world, you just, you just, congratulations. You just had a new show launched on the golf channel. It's called a Vanity Index podcast. Yep. It is fantastic. I've loved every episode. Your guests have been, you at this point, like five weeks in probably have the best guest list of any show on television outside of like maybe a late show, which is going to be a hard thing to keep up with. Yeah, it is. But it's been a home run. I mean, it's a great show. And if anybody tunes in, it's 10 a.m. on
Starting point is 00:10:55 Wednesdays, right? 10 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday mornings and then a replay at 10 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday evening. Yeah, if you like golf, then you should watch the show. It's, but it's not about, it's a, for the people that don't play golf, one of the fun things about when you go play golf is getting the beer afterwards. Like that to me is a very big part of it. Hence why the tap room is so iconic, because that's where you go get your drink after Pubble Beach. And so I wanted to make a show where there's just stories that you have around the table after the round of golf with the beer.
Starting point is 00:11:29 I wanted to make that into a show, which we were able to do. And I've got a bunch of, you know, talented celebrity friends that I can kind of call and be like, hey, you come on the show. And it's been really fun to do. We've got, this week, it's Blake Griffin. Number one draft pick,
Starting point is 00:11:44 golfing great, but also, like, intrinsically one of the funniest people I've ever been in my entire life. And just like a great hang to be around, telling stories of like, you know, playing against Jordan, like not on the court, but on the golf course. Oh, yeah. Like crazy stories like that. So yeah, if you like golf or you like golf stories, yeah, tune in.
Starting point is 00:12:03 It's a lot of fun. You know, one of the reasons I know that I like you is because somehow you figured out how to talk about golf for a living. And I did not get jealous. I got excited. And most of my life, I spend in a place of like jealousy and envy. Yeah. And now I watch it just because I think it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:12:22 and somehow you figured out a way to do. It was like a really windy road and somehow it worked out, but now you're talking about golf on the golf channel. Yeah. I don't know how I got so lucky. Yeah. Lucky and talented. I think of the most handsome.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Mm-hmm. Your date last night. We just got in talking about it. Did you talk about our hot date? Yeah. Did you know I got a little bit of like tingles being around you guys? Yeah. Did you?
Starting point is 00:12:48 A little bit. Just because we're like. Is that inappropriate? No. It's fine, Amy. I'm not going to lie. I don't know if it was Jake Owen. I don't know what got my juices.
Starting point is 00:12:57 No, it's probably those ghosts at the Mission Range that Wells was talking about his grandfather. And you're like, yeah, this is just a place where like Portuguese men thrive. It also might have been Wells sweater. Yeah, he's looking good. And those tight golf pants could have been at. Yeah. Like I don't want to be inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:13:16 No, I get it. Because I understand you're both married men. Yeah. Nothing weird happened. No, you can look, but you can't touch. That's literally how I was like, It was so fun. I'm not going to lie, but we did have a call this morning.
Starting point is 00:13:29 This is totally inappropriate, but since it's on a podcast, I think it's fine. Okay. I don't know how that. I literally was like to the other girls on the, no, because it's on a podcast, you're allowed to be a little bit more flirty than you can be behind the scenes. I said to a girl who will remain nameless, Danielle,
Starting point is 00:13:43 and I said, would you rather Wells or Ben? Oh, yeah. What's you say? You each got one vote. I won't say who picked him. I have 10 votes. Who do you think Amy picked? I've all,
Starting point is 00:13:55 I think Amy has a big thing for the Adams brothers. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She's picking, she's picking me to get closer to my brother. There's a dream scenario that plays out here that Amy has always been very open about and honest about, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I'm not saying you're right, but you're just an easy giveaway for me. We might be barking up the right tree. Guys, did you talk about how like you absolutely made. the party happen. Oh yeah. I mean, I'd like to say I did it. He did. He said, he did not want to do this. So here's a scenario. We're sitting there. Jake Owen's playing. It's a great time, but it's like a very like sit down crowd. And Wells says, you know what I think would be great is if we got up there and started dancing. And so we did. And then what happened?
Starting point is 00:14:42 40 other people followed. It was so good. It was so good. And did you know it was not lost on me? So basically the weird stool, the stools were lovely, but they made you slide downward. So I had to put my feet up. And so I put my feet up onto you guys. Yeah, you did. And it was, I know. Yes, I know. It was like the best night on my life.
Starting point is 00:15:06 And it was during barefoot blue jeans night. And I took my shoes off. And you guys were like, that's a good note. We are a great threesome. Whoa. Nothing inappropriate. Literally, you guys. People listening.
Starting point is 00:15:20 It could not have been more not. No, Amy, I've had some of my best memories with you here in Carmel by the sea. Date nights that we've had with their clothes on. Yeah, very much so. And approved by both your wives. My wife has never had a second thought about me saying I'm going with Amy to admission ran tonight. Here's why.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Because literally this is what the, and I don't want to say like we're famous, but this is like, I'm not famous. You're famous. People go, oh, we saw Ben and his mom. I said older sister. You think you're the lake fucks? I said older sister. Yeah. But the other people. Yeah, it happens. I just spotted Ben Higgins and his mom. Yeah. Which is a, your mom's beautiful. So it's a compliment to me. But like, am I old enough to be your mom? How do you know?
Starting point is 00:16:09 36. No, 52. I'm 52. What does that equal? Oh, actually. You could have been on the MTV show. to be your mom as much. No. You don't need to out me like that. I wasn't even part of this. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Can I say 10 out of 10 night? Best night. Literally, 10 out. Really? Oh my God. Did you guys not have 10 out of 10? No, we were just saying we did.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Yeah. But I mean, you don't drink and we were obviously enjoying libations. The best part of it, because you guys were like, loose. Yeah. Yeah. And Jake Owen is a bang.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Yeah, you did comment. He looks good, doesn't he? The hair. Yeah, it's the hair. He's got great hair. Did you guys notice he, like, shook your hands, but hugged me. I'm just saying. Shucks.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Yeah, I'm jealous now. Careful, Jake. I just got done saying I wasn't jealous. Talented, too. Yeah. We should get him on this podcast. Aren't you friends with him? Call him up.
Starting point is 00:17:12 He's in town. He fully knows you. Yeah. Like, I feel like he knows Ben better than he knows. you. Oh yeah. I met him for the first time yesterday. Yeah. But did I ask him to be on my golf show? Oh, yes. Immediately. I did a deep dive on
Starting point is 00:17:25 your golf show last night because you mentioned Rick D's. I didn't realize you get such good guess. Oh, yeah. That's what he said he has the best guess in the country right now. I never, I didn't even know it existed and then you mentioned Rick D's and I was like, I got to say Rick D's. Yeah. Thank you, Easton. And then I was like, um... Coming up with next Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:17:41 First of all, his name's out of my head right now, because of menopause, but the one from when a man man loved, Andy Garcia comes back. I got to do menopause ladies, take a breath. Yeah. And it'll come back in. I was like, what? You have like A-listers.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Oh, yeah. Is your co-hol some sort of a famous person? No, so I married a famous person. She's just going to introduce me to her friends. So smart. She's also rich, too, man. I really. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:18:05 It was so good. Wait, I'll leave you. I interrupted. Well, I will say this. Okay. So I like that. My hair looked good last night. Everything was great.
Starting point is 00:18:15 No, but you're saying, one, Thank you for saying that my sweater, you like my sweater. Oh my God. I know not to be weird. You looked a, and this is a weird. Because Ricky Fowler made fun on my sweater. No. You looked so cute.
Starting point is 00:18:26 And I don't want to be weird because that feels emasculating. Like, you look sexy. Like, I don't want to say that because you, and then I went to a store today and they said Preppy is so back. And I go, do you know Wells Adams? I know. He's totally starting that. He looked classic.
Starting point is 00:18:40 He looked adorable. But also about the dancing thing. I mean, yes, we were a little drunk. But everyone's been. at one of those parties that like, everyone's stuffy and like not like letting get letting go. And you're like, come on. This is Jake Owen. He plays arenas.
Starting point is 00:18:55 And there's, there's 45 people here. Sure. Let's, what are we doing? And you know, so it's like, hey, listen, be the change you want to see in the world. I want everyone to be dancing. Let's go. And they loved it. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:09 It like took off. Literally how my brain works. Because I was like, that guy sells out places for at least eight to 10,000 people. Oh, yeah. And I'm like 10,000 people times $100 a ticket. That's $1 million. We saw a million dollar concert with just us. Literally, guys, that is like, how do I get so lucky to be like friends?
Starting point is 00:19:28 We're just talking about. I don't know. I don't know. 10 of 10, I can't wait for tonight. It's going to be great. Yeah. We need to do another recap tonight. I don't have what I had last night in me tonight.
Starting point is 00:19:40 What? I mean, I have a little bit of it. Is that because you drank and you can't do back to back? No, get them a couple marty. teenies with blue cheese olives and he'll be just right as rain. And they have some more dip where we're going tonight. I'll be fine. Yeah, you'll be.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Yeah, I'll have a good time. What's going on? He's the youngest one of all of us. I know. Guys, I'm not that young anymore. 36, we just did the math. Yeah. That is pretty young still.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Stop telling you everyone. Yeah. Should I go? We're going shopping to get you guys gifts. Okay, great. If you had your druthers, would you want Carmel hats or like Carmel sweatshirts or like, what would you want? You know it's funny?
Starting point is 00:20:15 Sweat shirts. That's the number. one thing they sell in Carmel? Sweat shirts. Because everyone comes to Carmel thinking it's going to be warm and it's never. And so it's the number one selling thing in Carmel. Thank you for the Carmel Tidbit local. There's literally sweatshirt shops just on every corner.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Oh yeah. Yeah. Carmel sweatshirts. Legit. Or a quarter zip. Mediums, boys. Large probably. Large. Large.
Starting point is 00:20:37 I'll do a sweater as well. Sweater or sweatshirt? Sweater. Oh, really? I mean, if I get to be. Yes. Yeah. Half zip is the ultimate golf. No, I don't want to have to.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I'm not 80 years old. They have a cardigan. I would really. Oh, my God. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pull over. Pull over. No, it's a cardigan.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Okay, we're off. Who's going with me? By the way, I have to get a snap to. I love you guys. It must be mentioned that Amy does not do cocaine. That is wild. Can we one time get some cocaine just to see what happens to you?
Starting point is 00:21:13 Absolutely not. No, this is literally what they told Jake Owen. Who is handsome. Guys like so handsome. They're telling this very handsome, very famous country singer. I don't drink, which I don't. I don't do drugs. You've never even had it like...
Starting point is 00:21:27 Nothing. And that I have a toilet in the back of my car. And they said, which I poop in. Which I absolutely do not poop in. I've never pooped in that thing ever, ever. But you do have a toilet. Just in case. But you have a toilet in the back of your car.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Correct. And then later in the night, Jake Owen comes back up to say bye to us. And he goes, I can't stop thinking about the pooper in the back of the car. I'm like this. It works exactly how I wanted to. Wow. It's going to be weird when I see you later. Dude, we got to get him on.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Are you text friends with him? Yeah. Oh, my God. It doesn't have to be today. But like, we need to promote his whole, like, not just his music, but like the whole golf thing he's got going. It was so great. I think that was for charity. It was all for charity.
Starting point is 00:22:15 It was all for charity. We bought a three. dollar bottle of wine. I know. I talked about that too because I was like, that was like, I don't want to be inappropriate. You liked it. Yeah, you, I knew it. She loved, she would like, she's the type of person that like on a date if the guy was like dropping like dollars, she'd be like, yeah, that's my guy. These two were baller. They're like, this bottle of line, let's start it at 2000. And then Ben and Wells are just like hands up. We're like, let's go to 2500,000.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Anybody in the back? And Ben-N-Wells just hands up. And I was like, oh, my God. Yeah, I got to take a loan. Yeah. I hope this podcast does really well. Yeah, everybody, like and subscribe. Like and subscribe.

Some guests have answers. Most are still figuring it out. If you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is
Starting point is 00:24:30 for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Bowen-Yang. And I'm Matt Rogers. During this season of the Two Guys' Five Rings podcast, in the lead-up to the Milan-Cortina-2026 winner Olympic Games, we've been joined by some of our friends. Hi, Boen, hi, Matt. Hey, Elmo. Hey, Matt, hey, Bowen. Hi, Cookie. Now, the Winter Olympic Games are underway, and we are in Italy to give you experiences from our hearts to your ears. Listen to two guys, five rings on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome to the A building.
Starting point is 00:25:17 I'm Hans Charles. I'm in Alec Lamoma. It's 1969. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. have both been assassinated, and Black America was out of breaking point. Writing and protests broke out on an unprecedented scale. In Atlanta, Georgia at Martin's Almermata, Morehouse College, the students had their own protest. It featured two prominent figures in black history, Martin Luther King Sr. and a young student, Samuel L. Jackson. To be in what we really thought was a revolution. I mean, people would die.
Starting point is 00:25:51 In 1968, the murder of Dr. King, which traumatized everyone. The FBI had a role in the murder of a Black Panther leader in Chicago. This story is about protest. It echoes in today's world far more than it should, and it will blow your mind. Listen to the A building on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, so by Order of the Faithfuls is a show that you're doing with IHeart about the traitors. Yeah, so famously, I was on season three. of Traders U.S. where I was banished first.
Starting point is 00:26:33 So I lasted two episodes, which was awesome for my ego. So I now, for some reason, IHeart deemed me worthy to be able to talk about the traders because I was on said two episodes. And I do it with Dolores Katanya and Tamara Judge, who are both housewives. And your show is also hosted by a housewife. I can't get away from housewives.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Yeah, well, they're just expanding. Yeah, they're just going, you need to be a housewife. I could see it in myself. No, you know, you need to be, you need to be on season five of the traders. I would love to be on the traders. You'd be good at it. You wouldn't, you'd be a terrible trader, but you might be good, it might be good for you to be a traitor because no one would suspect you.
Starting point is 00:27:14 That's a good point. But you're too loyal, so you couldn't do it. You got to be faithful. Well, we play the game with my friends. Yeah. Like we play like around like a dinner table. We'll play the games. And I always feel like I am never believed.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Yeah. which I think could be a problem in the game. Like, I need to figure out how to communicate so that people believe me. I must either be a really bad liar or they always suspect that I'm up to something like sneaky. Yeah. But I love the show. I would love to be on it. I think it's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:27:48 We're seeing like, especially last two seasons, people coming off this traders get like huge bumps. Yeah. Well, not me. But do you feel like, I mean, I was going to say even. Well, like for my season, Dylan Ephron definitely got like a huge. Yeah. He became a overnight star where there was other people that were already kind of big names.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Chris Shell obviously in selling Sunset's huge and, you know, Boston Rob's been doing this for a very, very long time. Isn't Gabby on your season? Gabby, I mean, yeah, Gabby's kind of been iconic since she was the Bachelorette. But I feel like Traders really like made her go like this to like. It just gave it, you know, you sit in the chair a lot, which. is why she was such a good bachelorette's because she was very funny in interview right and so when you sit in the chair lot in traders you get to show off your personality and it's different too because you know in the bachelorette when you're when you're doing an ITM or you know an interview with the producer you're
Starting point is 00:28:43 looking at a producer you're not looking down the barrel and in traders there is no producer in there there's a there's like a speaker and someone's talking through the speaker and you're talking straight to camera and i think that that has something to do with like you know, having Gabby being like talking to straight to you through the TV, I think it gravitated a lot of people towards her. But the show's really fun. It's, I mean, listen, you know, you go to Scotland. You live in a beautiful castle for, well, for me for four days. But, you know, you can be there for a month. You can win a bunch of money. It's like fun challenges, but they're not like crazy. It's not like special forces where you're like hanging off of helicopters and stuff. Yeah. And yeah, the show is like exploded. Like season two was kind of big. And then pilot Pete was on it. And he was kind of like a big faithful.
Starting point is 00:29:38 And then season three killed. And now season four is doing really, really well. But with so many like kind of controversial characters, right? You've got Michael Rappaport who is very polarizing. You've got Lisa Renner who's, you know, been a housewife and an actor forever. That's like very loud. you got this guy named Rob who was on Love Island who's just like the dreamiest guy in the world
Starting point is 00:30:03 and so unassuming and plays off to like, I'm just a dumb hot guy but he's actually like a genius. You know, you've got Colton who's out there playing like loose and fast with like attacking people and accusing people of being traitors and stuff. So this season has, I feel like they've really caught their stride a little bit. But it's also like
Starting point is 00:30:25 with shows becoming popular. Like, I feel like we felt this, especially 2016, 2017, like the height of the Bachelor world. And the show, like, it hit like, like maximum exposure was also maximum like PR issues, right? It was like a lot of like TMZ stuff. And the same thing I think is happening this season. Like, you know, we know Colton.
Starting point is 00:30:54 I did a show with I did Paradise. with him. He's getting kind of like dragged on social media and all this stuff. And I feel bad for him in that respect. But I do think it's a it's a causation of the show becoming so big. So many people have an opinion. So many people have a voice. So many. I mean, people are really passionate about it. And I picked it up during your season. And in fact, it's, I know you joke about only being on for for two episodes. But we just did an event last week. week in Orlando. And people still shout out to you. Like I've heard multiple people say, I loved you on traders. Yeah. Like they still recognize you from traders. And it feels like it's not,
Starting point is 00:31:38 it's not mentioned as much as Paradise. Yeah. But it's still mentioned. Are you under the, kind of this belief? You're very savvy when it comes to this world. This has obviously been a career for you being in entertainment since, you know, high school even. Are you under the belief when it comes to like the Colton's of the world, that all press is good press, because he's not getting a lot of good press right now. I mean, I think that's like, would be universally like, agreed upon. Or it's old press that's being brought back up. Sure. Is it, is he sitting there or is his PR team or whoever is behind the scenes going, okay, this is still good people are talking about him? Or in today's world, is this maybe a negative? I think when he looks back, it'll be a good thing.
Starting point is 00:32:22 I think that this probably needed, if he wants to be back in the, public guy. Okay. I think that this probably needed to happen. He needed to probably have to go through this because he was kind of out of the public guy when all of the turmoil with Cassie and all that stuff like went down. And so it wasn't as as front facing as it is now when he's on this giant show. But I think that once people, all people want to do is be angry for a second.
Starting point is 00:32:48 And then they're like, okay, I'm done. You know, then it's over. And I feel like for him, if he wants to continue being a public person, It's probably good that he's having to kind of go through these trials and he'll be able to come out clean on the other end. Okay. That's my thought. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:03 I'm sure he, you know, is very upset. I would be too. I know that he's been saying like he doesn't want to go to the reunion. Reunion, which like contractually, I don't think he can do that. Yeah. I hear that and I'm like, what are you talking about? It's part of the contract that you are supposed to go to this thing. And they pay you to go.
Starting point is 00:33:22 The headline is that he's not going, right? Was he not invited or did he say, do you know if he's not going? I don't know. That obviously, I mean, is an interesting choice. I think there's a few things where it's like, you need to, you know, own this and confront this. Or maybe it is the whole, hey, this was a lot. I'm hiding out. I'm done with the public eye.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Maybe that's kind of what is going on is I don't want to be in the public eye anymore. I mean, he had a show with Caitlin Bristow. Yeah. I don't even know if it ever came out. Yeah, it was like Virgin Island or something like that. Yeah. It's funny. They filmed it at the exact resort we filmed Paradise this last season. That resort has a thing, huh?
Starting point is 00:34:04 Yeah. Apparently so. It's racking up the TV. Yeah. TV dollars. Well, if people want to listen to it, are you doing like weekly episodes? Yep. So obviously we're recapping every episode.
Starting point is 00:34:15 So yeah, tune in. We try to get them, you know, the show airs on Thursday nights. We try to get them out on Friday. But we've been doing like a two episode a week thing where like we'll do a recap and then we'll also have like someone from the show either this season or past seasons to come and talk and just share their thoughts in mind about, you know, the show in general and what they're up to. And so if you're a big fan of traders, yeah, go listen to by order of the faithfuls. You can listen to it anywhere you get your podcasts. But I think the I heart app is the best one because you pay me to say that. Yeah, that's fair.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Going it back. 20s, the decade. To the days of huge hits. And unforgettable items. A nonstop stream of the biggest and best. Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce, Katie Gaga, the weekend. And more. All your decade defining favorites all in one place.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Hi, it's Katie Perry. Hey, it's Bruno Mars. This is Kesha. Find 2010s the decade on the free IHeart Radio app. Preset the station so it's always one tap away. What do you do in the headlines? Don't explain what's. happening inside of you.
Starting point is 00:35:33 I'm Ben Higgins, and if you can hear me, is where culture meets the soul, a place for real conversation. Each episode, I sit down with people from all walks of life, celebrities, thinkers, and everyday folks, and we go deeper than the polished story. We talk about what drives us, what shapes us, and what gives us hope. We get honest about the big stuff, identity when you don't recognize yourself anymore, loss that changes you purpose when success isn't enough, peace when your mind won't slow down, fake when it's complicated.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Some guests have answers. Most are still figuring it out. If you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Bowen-Yang. And I'm Matt Rogers. During this season of the Two Guys' Five Rings podcast and the lead up, to the Milan Cortina
Starting point is 00:36:33 2026 Winter Olympic Games. We've been joined by some of our friends. Hi, Boe, hi, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Bowen. Hi, Cookie. Hi. Now, the Winter Olympic Games are underway, and we are in Italy
Starting point is 00:36:47 to give you experiences from our hearts to your ears. Listen to two guys, five rings on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome to the A building. I'm Hans Charles. I'm in a McLembourg. It's 1969.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. had both been assassinated, and Black America was out of breaking point. Writing and protests broke out on an unprecedented scale. In Atlanta, Georgia, at Martin's Almemata, Morehouse College, the students had their own protest. It featured two prominent figures in black history, Martin Luther King Sr., and a young student, Samuel L. Jackson.
Starting point is 00:37:28 To be in what we really thought was a revolution, I mean, people would die. In 1968, the murder of Dr. King, which traumatized everyone. The FBI had a role in the murder of a Black Panther leader in Chicago. This story is about protest. It echoes in today's world far more than it should, and it will blow your mind. Listen to the A-building on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Final thing I wanted to talk you about today.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Our buddy Chris Harrison recently announced. I saw this. That he is going to be hosting a show on a substantial or prominent, I think was the word prominent streaming platform. Getting a lot of press. One, Chris is back. That's a big deal. Like we've wanted this for a long time.
Starting point is 00:38:27 We want to see them on our televisions doing something. The press is coming from, the language of the caption asked for, I think people interested in a traditional marriage with traditional marriage roles. Yeah. That's where the press is coming from. I honestly, I'm under the understanding,
Starting point is 00:38:46 knowing Chris and his marriage, I think it's pretty clear with if he would be creating and hosting a show, this isn't some outrageous like request for like a housewife and a guy that goes to work every day and comes home and a cocktail is made on his table. Yeah, you don't think they're like casting trad wives, potential trad wives. No, no.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I don't. Amish bachelor. Yeah, I really don't. I think it's a, I don't know. I mean, again, you're used to this world more than I am. That language had to be like chosen and specific, maybe to create conversation. Listen, I mean, like the, I guess like the analogy I can make is like what's the difference between you know, like the Super Bowl halftime shows that competing with turning point
Starting point is 00:39:36 halftime thing. And then like, okay, you guys, all these, these, you know, shows that are loose and wild and, you know, Love Island and, you know, X on the beach and Boy Island and stuff. And can we have a show what's like going back to more traditional values? I get it. And I think there's an audience for that. And I think that there probably has been a backlash of people. being like, that's a little too much, like watching.
Starting point is 00:40:04 That's not what I'd think. But I can see people being like, I can't watch Love Island. It's nine hours a week of like, they're all having sex. Well, I felt that with perfect match. I mean, we watched it here and broke it down on Almost Famous. And I remember watching it and even texting our almost famous thread being like, this is wild. Like, I could never sit down and watch this week by week by week.
Starting point is 00:40:24 If this was what my like brain was consuming, it just, it felt like too much to me. I would honestly say the Bachelor, maybe even today, is more of a traditional easy watch show than like most of those other shows you just mentioned. Yeah. And maybe that's kind of what we're bringing back is this love story base show where two people meet each other. They fall in love and whatever format, you know, they've created. So the backlash is interesting. I wonder if they would have chosen instead of traditional, more like, I say conservative and that always feels more political than anything.
Starting point is 00:41:01 But like traditional feels like a word that does point people to think of like the 1950s. Yeah. Anti-feminism maybe. I can't imagine that that's what the show. A couple of things. And it should be known that Chris is a good friend
Starting point is 00:41:20 of both of ours. And I think that the world will be will be better when Chris is back on our TV screens. So like just right off the bat. The wording of the whole thing, okay, whether that's what they want for this show or not, I don't think it matters. Because the wording did the thing that they wanted it to do,
Starting point is 00:41:40 which is cause a bunch of press about this thing, right? So who cares if that's really what they're casting for? It did what they wanted it to do. It got everyone talking about Chris coming back to TV doing a show. Yeah. And so for that, I think, it was a win. Yeah. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:41:57 And going back to the, yeah, all publicity is good publicity, especially when you're trying to get a show off the ground. Yeah, people are talking about it. Chris Harrison is coming back to our televisions on. And the platform hasn't been announced yet. I don't know the partner to the whole thing yet. But I can't imagine if it's a prominent one, it's going to be one of the big networks.
Starting point is 00:42:17 I could see a peacock saying this is a good choice, right? I cannot see ABC jumping back on this. with Hulu. I don't think there's any chance there so that eliminates ABC. So, I mean, I wouldn't be shocked to see a Fox, maybe like, yeah, something like that.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Pick this up. They don't really have a dating show, I don't think. So it would make a lot of sense. But you're right. I think you said it best. It's getting people talking about it. We know and love Chris.
Starting point is 00:42:46 I can't imagine the show isn't going to be anything more than just a really good love story in the making. I think that's why he did The Bachelor, why he loved The Bachelors. I do think, outside of everything else, Chris Harrison loves being a part of love stories.
Starting point is 00:43:02 So he'll be back on our televisions. Wells, you've got a lot going on these days. Sarah's on Broadway. Crushing it for her, what, third show. Is this her third show? Yeah, in his many years. So she's doing a show called Just in Time, which is the story about Bobby Darren.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Bobby Darren is the guy who's saying, a splish splash I was taking a bath and that kind of like iconic era early 1950s and she plays Connie Francis who was an iconic singer who dated Bobby Darren Bobby Darren's played by Jonathan Groff
Starting point is 00:43:35 who you probably know is like the he's the king in Hamilton and you know he's in Frozen and he did a show called Mine Hunter which is phenomenal and they should bring that back and he's just the most lovely person in the world and if my wife has to make out with a man eight times
Starting point is 00:43:51 a week. I'm glad it's Jonathan Groff for a lot of reasons. I think it works pretty well for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But no, it's a great show. It's a tough ticket to get, but if you go to New York, I highly suggest it. It's in Circle in the Square, which is a very fun, intimate venue in New York,
Starting point is 00:44:06 which is much different than a lot of theaters in New York, where it's a big circle and you are surrounding the cast. And there's even seats where you can sit like, you know, kind of looks like the Boca, right? Like little tiny tabletops with like drinks and stuff, and you can sit there and you're a part of the show, which is very cool. It's very immersive. So yeah, you should go see
Starting point is 00:44:26 that. Banyan the next podcast, again on Golf Channel, you've got by order of the faithfuls, you still have your favorite things. What else are you doing? I think that's it. Goodness gracious, buddy. You're busy man. And you still find time to beat me at golf. Wells, thanks for hanging out with us today. We appreciate it.
