Hey, guys, welcome to the almost famous podcast. Today we're talking headlines. Ben had sort of a headline making weekend himself as he organized a big Bachelor Guy's trip to his home state of Indiana where they golfed. It was Zach Clark, Joey, you, Wells, Dean.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Am I missing anyone? Joe. Oh, Josh or Joe. What a great group. I want to hang out with that group. It was a great time. We're going to have them on to talk all about it. We have a lot of fun stuff coming out.
Starting point is 00:03:28 We actually had 36 guys there. So, as I mentioned, it was like buddies from middle school, high school, college, my first job out of college. And then post, you know, that job into the bachelor world and today. And so, yeah, we had everybody from pastors to influencers to accountants all mix in together. There nobody knew everybody except for me, which made it really fun. It was an incredible trip to French Lick, Indiana, one of the best golf resorts in the country. We had a lot of fun, a lot of stories to be had. I did not play well, so I'm frustrated.
Starting point is 00:04:14 But we will have hopefully most of those guys able to come on next week, kind of talk about the trip, talk about what it was like to be together. Because there was no, you know, here's what. what I wanted to do. I wanted to bring everybody together because they're friends. There was no expectation for publicity or content or exposure. There was no asks or requests. And so it was a trip just to be friends. And I'm excited to hear kind of how they felt about that. I don't know if many of us go on trips anymore where there's not some reciprocal ask that needs to be done in exchange. But I really wanted to make sure
Starting point is 00:04:56 that this was just a trip to hang out because I like these guys. What did everybody stay? We stayed at French Lake. It's the West Baden Resort. It's a very nice old, like it was built in the 1800s. It's a, if you look it up,
Starting point is 00:05:09 it used to be called the Ninth Wonder of the World. It's a huge dome. I was nervous, honestly, bringing 36 guys in to a like five-star resort was very scared. for me that they would tear it up. Nobody did. Nobody got arrested. Nobody got in trouble. Nobody broke
Starting point is 00:05:28 anything. But I was nervous. But we stayed there. And then we played the three courses that French Lick has kind of around the resort. Had dinners there at night. They have a casino. We watched a lot of like basketball together. Stayed up way too late. My watch said I averaged four hours and 30 minutes asleep every night, which is crazy. Was it three nights? it's three nights two days of golf three nights we got in sunday i think it's three nights yeah sunday night monday night tuesday night left wednesday morning uh so sunday night we just did a big like welcome party um with food in the game and then tuesday 36 or monday 36 holes of golf Tuesday 18 holes of golf and then um i had a big like campfire set up they have like this amazing stables set up there at um french lick
Starting point is 00:06:22 And so we had a big campfire with everybody and just hung out for the rest of the afternoon, which was great. I know that you want to have the guys on to talk about the experience, but just give us one little tidbit for the week. What was the best laugh that you had? Oh, goodness. I mean, for me, this was like a laugh the whole time because I had so many men I loved throughout my life there at one time. we did have a camera like that kind of and a drone that followed the trip
Starting point is 00:06:53 I wanted to capture the trip for these guys that helped me plan it. They're called golf trip makes sense they helped me plan this trip and I wanted to make sure we got good video and photos and my the funniest was just the guys kind of
Starting point is 00:07:09 getting caught peeing in the woods by the drone that was my favorite I think also I rented out the high limit room one night at the casino so it would just be us in there. And so we got all around a craps table and played craps. And it was just full of laughs and cheers and hugs. I don't know. It's a really cool thing to have so many people that I have memories with. And one of the things I'm sure these guys and I won't talk about, but I went to a store here in Denver called Pins and Aces. It's a golf brand. Um, and they do like really cool
Starting point is 00:07:48 head covers and golf apparel. And I went in and picked out a head cover because they have like 200 different head covers in there for like your clubs. Yeah. That reminded me of each person. So like a guy. You bought 30 something golf head tops? I did for these guys. Then how much are one of those things? Oh, they're not too like they're there. I mean, it wasn't a cheap trip for me. No. because the guys only had to pay for their food while they're there. So it was, yeah, but it was worth it. Like, I think it's worth it to, if I'm able to bring everybody together. But it was there like 36 to 50 bucks a head cover.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And so, but it was fun to like pick out, like a guy I know gets a ton of sunburns. Like he doesn't ever not sunburn. He's like, has like really light hair and he like really fair skin. And so I got him like a hot, like a fire hot sauce head cover. I got Wells like a a transfusion which is like a golf drink head cover for his
Starting point is 00:08:51 you know and he had flown back from Paradise to get there for this which meant a lot too there was a sacrifice there on everybody's end for him to be there Dean flew in from Bolivia for this so there was just a lot of like sacrifices
Starting point is 00:09:08 that these guys made I got Dean a leopard I don't think he liked it, but I got him a leopard because he's an adventure. I got Zach Clark and Abe Lincoln head cover because I think Zach Clark could change the world and he is honest and a man of integrity. I got Joe a Ninja Turtles
Starting point is 00:09:30 because all the Ninja Turtles are Italian. Ben, this is so good. I love this. Yeah. Because you know I love personalized games. It's so awesome. Yeah. So I got Wells.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I said Wells is Dean. Zaks, Joe's, who am I missing out of the group of Bachelor guys? Oh, Joey. I got Joey a dancing flamingos head cover for Dance With the Stars, and it's like a bunch of flamingos doing dance moves.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Oh, that's so fun. I love that so much. Honestly, if you're looking for a personalized gift for somebody that golfs, pins and aces is the way to go. It just has so many different options. They were great. And they were super fun.
Starting point is 00:10:13 And so I started out the weekend by, because again, not everybody knew each other. So I started out the weekend by like pulling out the head cover, explaining why I got it for this person and how I knew them. And then they would walk up and get it. And so everybody in there would be able to like, be like, oh, that's so-and-so. He has dancing flamingos. That's the guy from The Bachelor because I don't think any of my buddies watch the show. That's such a good idea to put things together, give him something to spark a conversation. Ben, what are your head covers on your own clubs?
Starting point is 00:10:46 It's Waylon, my dog. Oh, so it looks just like Whalen? It's literally Whalen remade. That's hilarious. Oh, you made it? It was like personalized? It's personalized. And then I got like a Sasquatch head cover because there's a Sasquatch
Starting point is 00:11:00 Museum in Bailey, Colorado, just about 20 minutes from my house. And I think it's the funniest, fun, most interesting place. And I'm like obsessed with Sasquatch now. And so I got a Sasquatch head cover from Pins and Aces because, you know, does he live or not? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. But if my voice sounds weak, it's because I spent all week and not sleeping and yelling. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Because you get 36 dudes in one place and it's hurting cats all the time. Right. And so you're just yelling command. at everybody and I woke up Wednesday morning and I can't like I haven't been able to get my voice back yet. I'm just now recovering. Um, so yeah, it was great. My dad was there. My father-in-law was there. My brother-in-law was there. Uh, so, you know, they got to, to be around these guys again, um, meet a lot of them for the first time. My dad knew a lot of them just from life, uh, but get to meet them. It was just special. Uh, and I think, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:09 I want to do it more often. But, you know, it's one of those times that you don't know how many times you're going to get to do it. And so it, Jessica said it best. She said, hey, when we got married, you looked around the room and I whispered in her ear at our wedding. She said, I said, hey, I'm just now realizing this is one of the only times of my life that so many people I love are going to be in one room. And she's like, you found a way to do it again. And I was like, you know what? You're right.
Starting point is 00:12:37 like this is this is special for me it's what i think life's all about i i feel that and it is depressing at your wedding to realize that that is one of those only moments so it's cool that you were able to have sort of a similar one yeah and i'm sure we're going to get the guys on here and they're going to talk about the golf um i do want to mention wells is going to love this uh and he's going to see the headline what did you tell you about paradise yeah i'm sworn to secrecy the head-to-head matchup that I had with Wells, I did beat him. I want to make sure that is clear and out there. So that is three times in a row now in our head-to-head matchups when we play with each other,
Starting point is 00:13:19 that I do come out on top. And that is a brag that is me floating my ego out into the world and also saying, there's very few people in this world. I'd rather beat it golf than Wells Adams. And I know he's going to hate it if he hears this and sees it. And I love that so much. So, yeah, that's my big takeaway from the weekend. And Joey, Dean, Wells and I got to play in our own group one day against each other.
Starting point is 00:13:44 And it came down to the last hole, but some missed puss later. And I walked away with $100 from each. Good job. Thank you. You're still the best of all of them. No, I can't say that. I think Wells is better. But for some reason, I think I'm in his head.
Starting point is 00:14:00 You got a crappy, yeah. Yeah, I think he just shuts down. I think I just stare at him too long. You're the Eli Manning to his Tom Brady. Yes. him. He just gets on the course and he wants the one so bad that he acts like he doesn't. He acted like he didn't care. Oh, it burns him inside. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the okay story time podcast. So we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Now hold up, isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. It's even more likely that they're cheating. He insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person
Starting point is 00:14:58 to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, it's Daniel Official. Writer Strong. Well, for the Backstreet Boys residency at Sphere, of course. We sat down with Kevin Richard's. and A.J. McLean just minutes before they took the stage and our very own Wilfredel basically became the newest member of the band. Boy band, please.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Plus, the man who has the longest running comedy show on the strip joins us and gets his props. It's carrot top, baby. And finally, we all L-O-V-E-Hur. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed.
Starting point is 00:16:31 There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently the explosion, actually. A impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances. Just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and Order, criminal justice system is back.
Starting point is 00:16:56 In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of Law and Order. criminal justice system on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts hey i'm j sheddy and i'm the host of the on-purpose podcast and today i'm joined by one of the greatest athletes of all time novac jockovic the world's number one male tennis player he's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career novac joccovich you've been through so many injuries, losses.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I always heard himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose? I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic? It's a consistent practice. It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest
Starting point is 00:17:58 battle. When you reach your 30, you start counting your days to your retirement. I'm 38 this year. How far can I go? How long can I push my own limits? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Have you ever wished for a change but weren't sure how to make it? Maybe you felt stuck in a job, a place, or even a relationship. I'm Emily Tish Sussman, and on she pivots, I dive into the inspiring pivots of women who have taken big leaps in their lives and careers. I'm Gretchen Whitmer, Jody Sweeten.

Learn how to get comfortable pivoting because your life is going to be full of them. Every episode gets real about the why behind these changes and gives you the inspiration and maybe the push to make your next pivot. Listen to these women and more on She Pivots now on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:19:03 all right shall we get into other headlines yeah we have some big headlines today ash and we will bring those guys on to talk all about it and i have a lot of good i have a lot of questions for them based on the trip first headline is this we're getting our first look at bachelor and paradise's season tens they call it chic new costa rican digs i guess i can spoil this because it's not really a spoiler. The weather was really bad down there. It's Costa Rica this time of year. It's rainy season.
Starting point is 00:19:41 It's not like it's always bad. It's usually a beautiful place. But I do know it was bad. You can look at that on the weather forecast or, you know, maybe talk to somebody who's there. Okay. Well, that sucks. It's called the Azora Beach Resort in Costa Rica. If you Google it, it's a four-star hotel.
Starting point is 00:19:58 I was told by one of the cast members that it did take a four, it was four hours. from the airport, a drive, so that's rough. But the thing about this season, as we suspected a few weeks ago, there won't be any crabs around and there won't be any excessive sweating because every contestant gets a room with four walls, air conditioning, and a private pool. That's nuts. When they write this, this is an entertainment weekly article.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Do they truly mean that each person has their own room? with their own pool and when we say pool like i'm looking at a picture right now it's kind of like a big pool but every room has its own entrance way like a walk-in entrance way into the pool which is very nice i can see there there's a bonus to okay so i like to see everybody sweat and i think that like that survival camping experience that is traditionally a paradise thing i think that that like brings more drama it's probably just because because of the way that I experienced it, but like I think that's like,
Starting point is 00:21:05 we must survive. We must survive in love. We must survive in this heat. I just, I like that it comes along with like amazing race, survive or whatever you want to call it, like that kind of vibe. But this is going to be more lux.
Starting point is 00:21:21 I would feel like this is going to be more of like a love island situation. I will say I think drama could come from this because if everybody has their own a room, that means there's probably going to be a lot more hookups early on because I think there's a lack of privacy in Playa Escondida. Everybody knows everybody's business. We're all sharing eight to ten people a room with bunk beds. Some people are even sharing beds. Nothing really has a door with a lock. Everything's made out of straw and, you know, plywood. And in this case, they're going to have like resort rooms. And I think that that's going to mean a lot more dirtiness, if you know what I mean.
Starting point is 00:22:08 I think the last spot also was good for bonding. It took away that kind of reality television aspect where you're like, I don't really know what your life looks like outside of this. And what is life like when everything's not plush and comfortable? I always appreciated seeing how people handled the bugs and the sweat and the dirt and the downtime. I do think this will add a different element. element. I actually, actually will say my guess is that there are less hookups because the privacy is, yes, more. I don't think people didn't hook up because of privacy, though. I think it's because
Starting point is 00:22:46 of the cameras. And the cameras still are going to be there. Yeah. And how weird is it to be like, hey, we're going back to my room. And then there's two camera crews following you. And it's just like the four of you in your room together. I actually think it would be more common to make out on a, sunny love seat with 30 people around, then it would be with like you and two camera guys. No, I understand. I'm reading this article further, and they say that each person will have one roommate,
Starting point is 00:23:13 but they won't be sleeping in bunk beds, and there will be a VIP suite available, much similar to the boom boom room for special, quote, quote, occasions to get a loan time with a potential love interest. This room has a real private pool. It's on the top floor. with a jacuzzi and a full-on kitchen, huge balconies.
Starting point is 00:23:36 It is, yes, they're saying, like, the boom-boom room, but a lot nicer. I mean, it's helpful. It is helpful. And I've always respected, like, the Jaden Tanner move where they just pretty much call the boom-boom room their own because they're like, I know we're getting married. We love each other. And it's the only place that's air-conditioned. And so we're just going to call it our own.
Starting point is 00:23:55 But they didn't sleep together for quite some time. Sure. But they, yeah, but like it was smart. It was a good move. I've always appreciated it. Next headline is this. I guess we'll close that to say we're looking forward to Paradise. I think it's going to be different.
Starting point is 00:24:10 It's going to be interesting. I am excited to watch the changes. I hope the changes are good because I do believe it is one of our biggest chances to see The Bachelor return next year is if Paradise does well this year. So there's a lot riding on it. Ben, did Wells tell you anything about the accommodations? not necessarily we didn't talk too much of honestly about paradise it's i usually try not to because you know he it's his job and he has an india but he did say that it rained a lot uh that it was really
Starting point is 00:24:44 hot really humid um and that was about i mean that's all i really do remember uh i don't know anything about relationships that went on people that came or went um he did say there was a lot a twist. It like was different than years before, which I think has already been talked about, like that it's going to change it up quite a bit for this year. But no, I did not get a lot of like juicy details. Okay. And it makes it hard to do this show when I do. Years past, I've gotten juicy details. And then I'm like lying to everybody the whole time being like, yeah, I don't really know what happened. I really have no clue what happened. I know. I know. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly, and now I'm seriously suspicious.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Oh, wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. Starting point is 00:30:20 the valley's jasmine good on the bachelor this is interesting so obviously Nick does a lot of recapping of the Bravo shows, the Valley being one of them and his former cast, the former cast member from his season, Jasmine has been on it. And he said on his podcast that he would love an apology
Starting point is 00:30:40 from Jasmine because he is still triggered from the time that she was on his season and she was trying to express anger towards him because she was frustrated by not getting a one-on-one. So she put her hand on Nick's throat. I remember
Starting point is 00:30:56 the moment. It was bizarre. And she's just like, your behavior makes me want to choke you. And apparently he still wants an apology for it. Good for him for even remembering what people did during his season. Somebody was asking me that this weekend about my time on The Bachelor. I'm like, I don't remember half of it. I couldn't tell you like. No, you've been saying that. That's what also Molly was saying. Doesn't remember anything. I guess it's just been like so far removed. But But I'm sure he could get one. I'm sure she doesn't think twice about it or if she does. It's one of those moments that she's like, I wish I wouldn't have done that.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Oh, yeah. She probably had it's one of those moments where she lies in bed at night and then pops in her head and she's like, oh my God, oh my God, suppress memories. Yeah, well, how do I do these things? Hey, we have an update on the Clayton Eckerd, not trial, but we have some updates on the pre-trial hearing for Laura Owens, the woman that, allegedly lied about pregnancy with the former bachelor star. Her arraignment is scheduled.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Ashley, what do we know? Yeah, so we do know we talked about it that earlier this month, Americopa County grand jury did indict her on several felony charges, including fraudulent schemes, forgery and perjury. Now there is, we're waiting to hear about how she's going to get sentenced. She did enter a not guilty plea in court on Thursday. She wasn't present in the courtroom, but she appeared virtually. And the prosecutors are saying that she went to extreme lengths to manipulate Clayton.
Starting point is 00:32:33 We will know more at a pretrial hearing, which is scheduled for July 11th. The real trial will begin on October 23rd. Teresa Nist's life is updated after her breakup. And also, we find out if she had Paradise FOMO. Oh, hmm. she was on a podcast this week and she said that Gary recently called her before going news with the public that he has a new girlfriend and she said that she wishes the best for him but that was very polite of him to do and she said that she has a wonderful relationship of
Starting point is 00:33:11 friendship with her runner-up Leslie and Leslie is on Paradise and well Teresa said that appearing on Paradise wasn't for her we don't know whether she was astronaut but she said that it wasn't for her. She says she's ready to cheer on her friend as she goes on the beach. And she did say that she has a bit of FOMO but is excited to go to the watch party at Leslie's house and watch her journey.
Starting point is 00:33:36 So, I mean, yeah, we don't know whether she said yes or no. And Teresa totally should have said yes. But I understand that she's, she's gone through a lot with the show in the past year and a half years. But when we talked to her last, it sounded like she wanted to be back out there in the public. So it's shocking that she would say no.
Starting point is 00:33:55 In fact, I would. And why would, have her? Yeah, it's a big name from that season, maybe the biggest. So kind of interesting that she is now saying she was not there. Ashley, Rachel Kirkconnell is talking about Matt James. She went on a podcast called The Squeeze. Her quote is that she wants to remain friends with Matt James. I don't think that's the most interesting part here.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I think most exes that end the relationship in some type of healthy way, and it sounds like they did, even from her interviews right after the breakup, would say publicly they want to remain friends. I mean, what other option do you have? You want to say, no, I never want to talk to that person again? But I think the most interesting part is that she's still emotional as she reflects back on her relationship with Matt James. because it feels like there is still this,
Starting point is 00:34:53 not maybe love pole, but there is this pull towards him and that time together. Yeah. The squeeze is Taylor and Taylor Lautner's. Taylor's time to Lottner's podcast. And on it, she said, people are going to kill me for this,
Starting point is 00:35:08 but I do wish on some level we could be friends because he was my best friend. So it sounds as if they're not actually friends right now, but she would like to be. She said, I'm trying not to cry. And of course, he was my best friend for years. And we're friends, we were friends before boyfriend and girlfriend in our relationship.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Not like every relationship is like that. And for me, at times, I was like, it really does just seem like we're best friends. And again, so many relationships are different. And I love that. But I want all my relationships to feel like the man that I'm dating is actually my best friend first. She said that there's part of me that will always be rooting for him. and we'll hope that he's doing okay. I would love to maybe some day,
Starting point is 00:35:54 someday, not anytime soon. Don't worry, guys, but like have a catch-up. If we run into each other at an event, I would love to be able to sit down and have a conversation. I'll have a catch-up. I don't think either of us will have any bad blood.
Starting point is 00:36:08 So maybe when we're ready to be like fully moved on, that's something that we can do. Oh, yeah. One of the breakdowns from her interviews was that he was still calling her. I think he probably sounds like got the hint and stopped calling her.
Starting point is 00:36:21 So it doesn't sound like they're speaking very often, which is healthy for a breakup, no matter where and how you break up. I think it's healthy to cut ties for a period of time and allow both people to move on and get their lives back in order. And Rachel's definitely done that. Goodness gracious, she's blown up since the breakup.
Starting point is 00:36:39 She's everywhere now. Speaking to somebody who's everywhere, this person was also in paradise, Hannah Brown celebrated her bachelorette party in Florida. Hannah posted yesterday in Instagram the house that they stayed at and she was like Bachelorette in your 30s
Starting point is 00:36:56 are different than bachelorette in your 20s you just like kind of want to sit in a nice house with your girls and it's not about like going out and partying it's more about like being in a house and having good conversations and good food and that's what she did her wedding is coming up any
Starting point is 00:37:14 well I feel like in a month or so and they did like a little fun dress-up nights, they did a Hannah era. It was like dress up as your favorite or different Hannah era, you know, like her pageant era, her bachelorette era, her wedding era. And the only other bachelor nation friend that was there was Heather Martin. And she dressed up as Bachelorette Hannah. She was holding a rose and a red gown. Yeah, they've been friends for a long time. Very close. Final headline is this. Jin Tran, reveals she's a mom.
Starting point is 00:37:53 She says, I've been giving a secret for you guys for like a half an hour. I'm a mom. I'm a mom. And then she pans over and she shows her new adorable kitten. It's a foster cat. She said she might end up adopting her. I don't know what to name her right now. We'll just kind of see what her personality is like.
Starting point is 00:38:10 But right now she's seeming like very brave, very smart and friendly. She said usually when I foster kittens, which she's been doing now for a couple years, they're very skidish and scared. But I met her half an hour ago, and she's already warmed up to me. Very adorable, very, very sweet. That's very sweet. Hey, those are the big headlines we have this week for you.
