Maybe find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The U.S. Open is here and on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain. I'm breaking down the players, the predictions, the pressure. Open your free IHeartRadio app. Search Emergency Intercom and listen now. This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcast with IHartRadio.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It's almost famous podcast. Yes, we are back. We are here and we are together. Hello, Ashley. Hello, Ben. Thank you for having a great time in Carmel, California with a whole bunch of our friends without me. But, like, I say that dead seriously because I could have never gone on a plane. Why?
Starting point is 00:02:31 Because I just don't, like, I'm telling you, after the Golden Bachelor wedding, like, I will not go on a cross-country trip again, pregnant. Can't do it. It's so hard on my body. Yeah. So, like, thank you for just doing podcasts. And I, like, I lived vicariously through your stories, which looks so much fun. Can you give me a shoe?
Starting point is 00:02:55 I just peed, you know, I just peed. And that's how honest I'm going to be. Wait, you sneezed and peed at the same time? Yeah. Do you need a change? No, it's like a little squirt. It's like, this is a mom thing. It's like, you have a baby.
Starting point is 00:03:11 And when you sneeze, you pee. And then people go, you have to go to pelvic floor therapy. Okay, listen, I probably do, but I'll do it after this kid. And then when you're pregnant, you pee your pants like far more easily. when you sneeze. Like I think before I was pregnant, I could probably hold that in. Now it's just like,
Starting point is 00:03:32 and then when I throw up, it's like, I don't know whether or not to throw up on the floor and pee in the toilet or pee on the floor and throw up in the toilet. The real solution there is something that never comes to my head
Starting point is 00:03:44 in the moment. And that is you throw up in the garbage can and you pee in the toilet because if I, because believe me, it's a full stream of pee when I throw up.
Starting point is 00:03:54 All right. Hold up. Up, is this something that, like, I could laugh at or is that a friendship for me to laugh at it? I think you can laugh at. Maybe some other women would say, like, don't laugh at the mother's body. But, like, I totally think you can. Because the fact that you just sneezed and peed at the same time and haven't lost a beat, like, that you just kept talking is amazing to me. Because it happens all day long. Sometimes I wear, like, a giant, like, urinary pad. Like, if I'm going to, if I'm going to be, like, at the airport or when I was in Disney.
Starting point is 00:04:25 world i did because i was like heaven forbid i am like on a on a line for a ride then i throw up in line and then i pee my pants and it's like a bottle of urine with the girl who's throwing up so i just um i have that as a backup but right now now and look at that tangent like look how far we came we came from you recording podcasts to me just peeing my pants and this is why i can't go to Carmel but that's okay yeah well I get it now I don't want I don't need you there that's fine I'll do anything no I have great sense of humor about it no I'm glad well I appreciate it yeah Carmel was great we did miss you a lot Ashley but obviously we understand why you couldn't be there we had a great group um you know over the time it's been really fun to kind of bring in some familiar faces but also
Starting point is 00:05:20 bring in some new faces each time too and to see how the group kind of comes together and to hear the shared experiences. We got to be an obviously beautiful Carmel. The Pebble Beach, actually, we only missed one day of the tournament because it got canceled after yesterday because of the storms. It did rain a lot. Some of the highlights, I guess, Ashley, from that trip, and I'm excited for people to tune in.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I mean, honestly, these trips, sometimes the highlights don't happen during a recording. Sometimes they happen outside of a recording, and we don't get to capture those. The highlights of this trip was the time together, but also a lot of it happened. during these podcasts that are going to be posted on Almost Famous and the Most Dramatic podcast ever. Also, suck, suckers, I think they're calling themselves now. Suckers. Is it suckers? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:08 It happened during those. But the Almost Famous podcast came out, I think, was some really great interviews, not because of anything I did, but because of the guests. Justin and Susie really opened up, talked a lot about their experience as a couple and what led them to finally try and get together. Um, Dean, uh, Chris Harrison and I sat down and had a really great conversation. Jason, Chris and I sat down. Uh, and then Bob Guinea, um, did, we thought it would be fun since you and I had already talked to some of the golden ladies to have Bob talk to him. Uh, and as Bob's
Starting point is 00:06:41 wife says, Canyon says, uh, he should talk to them because of their same age. And so Bob, Bob got to sit and talk to them and came out just with some really fun, but very heartfelt interviews. Um, It was a great trip. I am happy to now be back with you. I do miss you when you're gone. I told Justin and Susie all about kind of our bet on if they would ever get together or not back in the day. And if they actually were together or not. And then they said, well, we really miss Ashley being here.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I said I do too. But I think this interview would go in a very different direction if she was sitting next to me. Because what we got to get to is really before love happened in their relationship. And I think that's a really fun story. to tell. So then tell me what you experienced going to dinners and stuff with them as the couple today? I mean, you know, the coolest part. They remind me of a married couple. And I don't say that in a sense that like they're boring or they're not exciting. So I think that's a comfortable. So comfortable, right? Well, they're comfortable and they talk about on the podcast. They're comfortable
Starting point is 00:07:45 because they're a friends first. And so they weren't hiding anything from each other, right? It would be similar to what you and I just talked about, right? Like you could tell me anything that like, You know, you sneezed and did all these weird bodily functions. And we could be sitting on a couch watching a movie next to each other, right? And that is where their relationship started was as friends first. The difference was they were both single, which was when my bet came in and said, there's no way these two attractive single people can watch this many movies together and not at some point think about making out.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Like, there's just no way that's a thing. And so they were friends first, so they weren't hiding anything from each other. which I think into their romantic relationship, the interesting conversation that we got to have with them was, well, then how do you turn that gear? So that, you know, Susie wants to be sexy for him, right? She wants to be attractive for him and he wants to do the same for her. So how do you go from being friends that are, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:41 doing all the weird stuff that humans do in front of each other to then, like, turning that gear and being, okay, now I need to, I want them to see me as, you know, their partner and be physically attracted to me. So what kind of things has to change in my life? What kind of things do I have to do differently now? So is that recorded? So we can all listen to it? You can listen to it.
Starting point is 00:09:00 It's great. They're really fun to talk to. So going to dinners with them, they're exactly who they were on the podcast. They're a lot of fun. Justin's a lot quieter. Like sneaky, sneaky funny, though. Like quiet, but if you sit next to him, he'll say some stuff that just makes crack up. And Susie is a little more out there and hilarious.
Starting point is 00:09:20 is. She's, I mean, it was, they're great. I really see, I'll say this now publicly. I'll be shocked if they were a breakup. Yeah, okay. That's what I was going to ask you. I'll be shocked if they ever break up. Yeah, okay. Same. I think so too. Okay, cool. Should we get to headlines? Definitely get the headlines. Please go out and listen to all the episodes recorded during Carmel. The first headline is this, Bachelor at Charity Lawson, on why Golden Bachelor brought franchise back to life. That's an interesting conversation. to have right now. So yeah, she says she thinks it's exactly what bachelor nation needed. The past year was really good for the franchise. I'm really happy to see that
Starting point is 00:09:59 demographic, that age of people, find love again. I just spoke about it that when you get to that age and your life doesn't have to like fit into this timeline, you don't know what to expect in your 60s or 70s. So these women, they all showed us that there's so much life to be lived at that point. And everyone's supposed to be having these opportunities. But for us seeing it on national, like, public TV like this, it's never been done before and it was done beautifully. I do believe charity is right. I think the big question that you and I even argued about
Starting point is 00:10:32 was what is the Bachelor going to look like post-Golden Bachelor? And I do think it brought fans back in. And so far, I think this Bachelor season is probably meeting their expectations on what they remember the franchise being. I have a feeling it's going to be a kind of maybe a good year for the Bachelor in general. oh my gosh totally because joey i just am so into watching him he is the bachelor we've been
Starting point is 00:11:00 waited too long for he's so easy to watch 28 years for you've been waiting for him he's been so good i love it um i i just he's so much more compelling to watch them we've seen the past couple years so yes i do think that we're off to a really good start has 10 years no that's not true. Dean said Dean told me this. He said Joey's the first bachelor I've ever liked in the last 10 years. Okay. Well, you're in the past 10 years and then
Starting point is 00:11:29 Nick's in the past 10 years. So like I have got to say that my friends, they were great. Just because they're friends. You're biased. Brian defends ex-Rachel Lindsay and their past relationship amid split. Okay, so Brian
Starting point is 00:11:45 spoke out against the negativity in the comment section of a new post that he posted. he said that we've been living together for almost three years in L.A. This split has nothing to do with long distance, not sure why people think we've been apart this entire time. Yes, her career came first, but there were opportunities for her that were smart for her to take, which could not have been offered later. I think, like, you know, she couldn't have pressed pause on her career because she had so much, I'm assuming, couldn't press pause on her career because she had momentum coming from TV.
Starting point is 00:12:19 and all that. Brian continued to say that he didn't have anything lined up for himself in L.A., but we were a team, so I closed uprooted and opened a new business in L.A. It's not just women who should be expected to sacrifice a man can do it too. And then any rumors about the fact that he had a problem with Rachel's professional success? He also said that her building her future was not the problem. I would encourage anyone to pursue their dreams and hope that they have a healthy support system to do so. He said a lot of things on this. He said a lot of things under this post.
Starting point is 00:13:00 He goes, because Rachel did want a family. Things happen as they're meant to be. God bless. I mean, I think that's great when you see a couple ending the way they did supporting each other. It has a question for you, though, because I'm not familiar. And has Rachel came out and publicly defended Brian yet? All she did so far was say, like, yes, we're getting divorced. It's been a really tough time.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Like, I'm really kind of like reeling right now. And I'm not going to talk any further about it right now, but I will eventually. Okay. So we're assuming that they're on decent terms. Like, it's over. They're moving forward, but they're both supporting each other still. especially publicly. Well, he's especially publicly.
Starting point is 00:13:52 She's just kind of like asking for privacy. This is the first time that anybody like ever addressed any of the rumors that could have caused this blow. Okay. So first time one of them's really spoken out. Not to say that she's like not been kind. It's just that she like hasn't really said. He's asked her privacy and she's taking her time.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Okay. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly. and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam, maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend has been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her. Now, he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Now, hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That sounds totally inappropriate. Well, according to this person, this is her boyfriend's former professor and they're the same age. And it's even more likely that they're cheating. insists there's nothing between them. I mean, do you believe him? Well, he's certainly trying to get this person to believe him because he now wants them both to meet. So, do we find out if this person's boyfriend really cheated with his professor or not? To hear the explosive
Starting point is 00:14:58 finale, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. A foot washed up a shoe with some bones in it. They had no idea who it was. Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable. These are the coldest of cold cases. But everything is about to change. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA. Using new scientific tools, they're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it. He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen. I was just like, ah, gotcha. On America's crime lab, we'll learn about
Starting point is 00:15:45 victims and survivors, and you'll meet the team behind the scenes at Othrum, the Houston Lab that takes on the most hopeless cases, to finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Ed. Everyone say, hello, Ed. Hello, Ed. I'm from a very rural background myself. My dad is a farmer, and my mom is a cousin, so, like, it's not, like...
Starting point is 00:16:13 What do you get when a true crime producer... walks into a comedy club. I know it sounds like the start of a bad joke, but that really was my reality nine years ago. I just normally do straight stand-up, but this is a bit different. On stage stood a comedian with a story that no one expected to hear.
Starting point is 00:16:31 The 22nd of July 2015, a 23-year-old man had killed his family. And then he came to my house. So what do you get? when a true crime producer walks into a comedy club. A new podcast called Wisecrack, where stand-up comedy and murder takes center stage. Available now.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Listen to Wisecrack on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, This was the choice he faced. He said, you are a number, a New York State number, and we own you.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short-term, highly regimented correctional programs that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life, emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor, and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months. The first night was so overwhelming, and you don't know who's next to you. And we didn't know what to expect in the morning. Nobody tells you anything.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Listen to shock incarceration on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Clear Crawley opens up about relationship with surrogate. After birth, uh, and her also, she opens up about her hardest moment as a mother so far. So she did a Q&A on Instagram and she asked if they got to stay overnight at the hospital with the surrogate because, you know, Claire and Ryan didn't have to recover. But of course, with the baby there, you're going to want to stay overnight. So she said we did get to stay over with the surrogate. We were in the room right next to our surrogate's room while she recovered. covered after the delivery and we all stayed about 24 hours. She also shared that the surrogate was
Starting point is 00:18:49 involved for the first few days of Rowan's life and she will always be. She's like family to us, she says, and I always want Rowan to know her beautiful story of how she came to be. She said that the hardest part as a mom thus far was having to travel home after the delivery because they didn't have the baby wasn't born in California. The perfect surrogate for them was not located in California. She just, she said that there were, you know, there could have, they could have worked that out possibly, but like she felt really good with this one woman. So getting her home safely, having to, you know, fly with a baby of that age. She said she's never been so psycho about germs. Hey, uh, I mean, just crazy to even read a headline with clear crawling being a mud
Starting point is 00:19:37 in the same headline. It's so cool. So amazing. We're just so happy. We're so happy. Speaking of mothers, obviously, we just announced that Amanda Stanton just had another little baby, and this is the headline. Amanda Stanton reveals her bachelor-coded name for her daughter, the final, Rosie. It's very cute, but she does say that she hesitated to name her daughter Rosie because it seems like a nod to her time on The Bachelor, but she said it's really not at all. It's more of a fun thing that I did when I was 25 versus a big part of my life now,
Starting point is 00:20:10 but I won't be annoyed if you do make any Bachelor puns with her name, like the final of Rosie. Ah, there we go. It's very cute. Interesting headline here, because I just think it's something that some people know, some people don't.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Sydney Warner. Sydney was on The Bachelor a few years ago, and she was on Season 24, The Bachelor, with Peter Weber as the Bachelor at the time. well she's married to one of the if not the best football player in the NFL right now fred warner yep and the headline says this sydney warner gets candid about traveling to super bowl four weeks before her baby's due date so hana our producer and i big girl crushes on sydney she was on our podcast a couple months ago and i think we even to be asked we're like
Starting point is 00:21:00 what's going to happen if he does make the super bowl well she got the clear from her doctor that she can fly to Vegas for the Super Bowl this coming weekend, which will be exactly this weekend, four weeks before her due date. And it's because it's only an hour flight back home to San Francisco. And because she is four weeks off, you know, so the odds are probably not very high that she's going to go into labor. But if she does, what a story that will be. the and I can't imagine with the excitement and all that but she said she got to clear it's from a medical
Starting point is 00:21:41 standpoint she's she's going to be okay but she does say that she's stressed out about the trip because she's just slowing down a lot she's starting not to like feel good she said she she felt good most of her pregnancy but now she's just like okay I think I'm ready for this thing to come out yeah it makes sense well I would say I mean there could be worse places to have a baby than in a Super Bowl, like, sweet. That'd be sweet. Well, Nick Vile is now a dad. He's just recently posted.
Starting point is 00:22:15 River Rose, Vile, is the name of his new daughter with his wife, Natalie. This is a very exciting. Beyonce, soon-to-be wife. Good point. So River was born on February 2nd, and she's named after Natalie's great-grandmother. and niece, and he says, both of them together in a joint statement on Instagram. I say, the best part of my life starts now, which is so adorable.
Starting point is 00:22:44 And she's such a beautiful little baby. And we're so happy for Nick. He's going to be a fantastic father. Final headline is this. Abigail reveals her thoughts on the bachelor's Daisy Kent and shares advice for her. So Abigail spoke to People Magazine. talking about how Daisy and her both share being deaf and wearing cochlear implants. And she said, I was excited to hear that on the current season, we'd have more representation from the hearing loss community.
Starting point is 00:23:17 I know everyone has a different experience with hearing loss and cochlear implants. So I'm interested in learning about Daisy's story and for the conversations to continue on raising awareness for the death community. Abigail was born without hearing and Daisy lost her hearing because of Lyme disease. And Abigail shared some words of wisdom for Daisy as she goes into this bachelor journey. She goes, I know she and I both have these cochlear implants, but we have two very different stories. And I'm excited to learn more about her journey with hearing loss. And the advice that I would give her is to enjoy the experience and to know that her journey is hers alone. People are going to cast opinions, be ignorant with their comments, and project their own experiences onto her.
Starting point is 00:23:58 And just remember that everyone's path is different. And she should be proud that she's taken the brave step to put herself in her. her story out there. Wow. Absolutely awesome. Cool to see those two come together, bring awareness, be great, just great people for the franchise in general. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Well, that's all the headlines we have for today. There's just some big headlines. We got some babies. We got some future babies. We got Ashley P and her pants. We got the stuff on Carmisle. I mean, we got some stuff today. We'll be back with another episode of the Almost Famous podcast.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Again, please tune in and listen to all the content coming out of Carmel. I thought it was a very intimate weekend. Like a lot of, it felt like the space that was created caused a lot of people to open up more than maybe what they would if we were on Zoom or in a more chaotic environment. And so I thought that was really cool. Anyways, we're breaking down episode three of Joey's season of The Bachelor very soon. Tune in for that as well.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But until then, I've been Ben. I've been Ashley. See you guys. Thank you. Follow the Ben and Ashley I, almost famous podcast on IHart Radio, or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts. My boyfriend's professor is way too friendly,
Starting point is 00:25:07 and now I'm seriously suspicious. Wait a minute, Sam. Maybe her boyfriend's just looking for extra credit. Well, Dakota, luckily, it's back to school week on the OK Storytime podcast, so we'll find out soon. This person writes, my boyfriend's been hanging out with his young professor a lot. He doesn't think it's a problem, but I don't trust her.
Starting point is 00:25:23 Now he's insisting we get to know each other, but I just want her gone. Hold up. Isn't that against school policy? That seems inappropriate. Maybe. Find out how it ends by listening to the OK Storytime podcast and the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
