Who catfishes a city? Is it even safe to snort human remains? Is that the plot of Footloose? I'm comedian Rory Scoville,
Starting point is 00:00:48 and I'm here to tell you, Josh Dean and I have a new podcast that celebrates the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals. It's called Crimeless, a true crime comedy podcast. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm investigative journalist Melissa Jeltson. My new podcast, What Happened in Nashville, tells the story of an IVF clinic's catastrophic collapse and the patients who banded together
Starting point is 00:01:16 in the chaos that followed. It doesn't matter how much I fight. Doesn't matter how much I cry over all of this. It doesn't matter how much justice we get. None of it's going to get me pregnant. Listen to what happened in Nashville on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I know he has a reputation, but it's going to catch up to him. Gabe Ortiz is a cop. His brother Larry, a mystery Gabe didn't want to solve until it was too late. He was the head of this gang. You're going to push that line for the cause.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Took us under his wing and showed us the game, as they call it. When Larry's killed, Gabe must untangle a dangerous past. that could destroy everything he thought he knew. Listen to the Brothers Ortiz on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Who would you call if the unthinkable happened? My sister was y'all 22 times. A police officer, right?
Starting point is 00:02:11 But what do you do when the monster is the man in blue? This dude is the devil. He'll hurt you. This is the story of a detective who thought he was above the law until we came together to take him down. I said, you're going to see my face to the. the day that you die. I got you, I got you, I got you.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Listen to the girlfriends, untouchable, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey there folks, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes here, two of your hosts here on Ido Part 2. We're continuing to give you some great options for last minute gifts for the people in your life. Single or otherwise? This is what we recommend? This is where a single person or? Yes, maybe because if you have someone with you, you can say, hey, don't forget to wake me up. But if you're alone, yeah, you need your alarm clock more than ever, correct?
Starting point is 00:03:18 If you're single, you got you yourself and, well, you. Don't worry about it. But hey, but I do part two, part of our, well, you know. the whole podcast is to get people hooked up. Correct. So you won't need this alarm clock later. So we'll just deal with right now for you folks who haven't quite gotten love right the second or third or fourth time. Yet, this clock might be for you.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Okay, this was the one that was not on our radar. And apparently it's all the rage on social media. Yes. So we did not, had not heard of the Hatch Restore 3 Sunrise Alarm Clock. But apparently this gift is everywhere on TikTok. And I say this because our 19 year old came back from college and she saw that the producers of I Do Part 2 had sent a hatch alarm clock for us to look at
Starting point is 00:04:07 as a possible gift idea for any of your single friends or for you if you happen to be single. And she said, oh my God, a hatch alarm clock. Am I exaggerating? You're not exaggerating. Again, but before the 19-year-old came home, we have the 12-year-old at home. And Sabine sees it sitting on the counter
Starting point is 00:04:25 and she's, wait, can I have it? You all don't want it? We didn't get it at all. So that was the first indication to us, how popular this thing was, how fun it is to people and how, yes, they're itching to get their hands on it. Yes. And so there are all of these incredible features in terms of helping you fall asleep, helping you potentially stay asleep, and to wake you up in a very curated, specific way that you would prefer. So Annalise got really, really, really excited when she found out that she could set her hatch, restore three sunrise alarm clock, and I say her, because we gave her the other one, to Good Morning Islanders. Does that sound familiar to anyone else who loves to watch Love Island? We died laughing. She was still playing with it trying to figure out
Starting point is 00:05:11 how to do it, but she said she cannot wait to have that be the first thing she hears in the morning. Now, it's supposed to be. Now, if that's your preference, you want to hear Good Morning Islanders. I don't think I want to hear that. The only thing worse than that, if it's screamed out, I got a text. I would throw the damn alarm clock out the window. But I'd be awake. But yes, they say this thing is designed to help you build a bedtime routine that quiets your mind so you can sleep better. Now, it looks cool and it has all these features, but it is supposed to really be good about helping people get restorative sleep. Yes, Annalise was telling us that you can have, and I say this because she was explaining it to us more than we actually knew
Starting point is 00:05:49 because she's seen all the TikToks, but apparently it can read you a bedtime story. It can walk you through a meditation. It can actually have some light that will help soothe you and get you to sleep and relax you that it sends out. Also, that light I was talking about, it actually illuminates in the morning. It mimics sunrise. So it kind of starts or jumpstarts your circadian rhythm, a circadian rhythm, apparently. So it's supposed to actually, from a visual and from an audio standpoint, help you fall asleep and help you wake up feeling refreshed. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:22 And even though the light does that. in a soft way, right? It's not supposed to be a sudden hit of light, which is supposed to mimic the sun. Like you said, it also has what they call science-backed sleep sounds. They have 80-plus of these things. What is that white noise?
Starting point is 00:06:37 I like brown noise. No, what's the different difference between white and brown? Brown noise is softer and a little bit, yeah, just softer. The white noise is a little harsher. And then like the blue and violet noise is very harsh. It's more tinny in a sense. But the brown noise to me...
Starting point is 00:06:52 I don't know what tinny is. What's tini? It almost has like... What the hell? You know I didn't know what I meant. If someone has a tinny quality to their voice, it's almost grating. It's like piercing, piercing, maybe. Is there a black noise?
Starting point is 00:07:05 I didn't see a black. No, there's a brown noise. Did I mention how much I love the brown noise? Black noise is just a Kendrick Lamar's song, plan. That's just your ringtone. They're not like us. They're not like us. Okay, but we did have some downsides or at least some challenges we found with it.
Starting point is 00:07:21 First, we should say it is good looking. It's like a, what do you say? A half dome, however you want to put it. Kind of a look, and it has a mesh front to it, so you don't just see a display of numbers. It has this mesh front and the numbers. You can have them up or down, so it could just be sitting there and nothing digitally showing up. No light. So that's cool.
Starting point is 00:07:39 The other thing, though, in trying to get it to work, I think, was our first challenge to where it almost turned us off and made us question at least to let people know. Think about it before you give it as a gift. Yes. So I couldn't figure out how to even use the act. which is how you basically control the alarm clock without agreeing to a subscription. And so they give you a free seven-day trial, and it's $6.99 a month, even though they advertise it's $4.99 a month. When you get on there, it's actually $6.99 a month, I can confirm. Or you can opt for a 30-day free trial, and then at the end of the 30 days, it's $69.99 a year.
Starting point is 00:08:19 That is a very hefty price tag, especially for a 19-year-old. I guarantee you she's not going to pay for it. I told her to set her alarm to remind her to cancel her subscription. However, the problem is all the cool features that she was raving about go along with that subscription. So I was even considering paying for maybe at least the first year of that subscription to see if she actually uses it and likes it. So just something to keep in mind. They are all the rage and they sound like a good, fun, cool product if you can deep dive into the features. Because this is not for somebody who just needs to hear an alarm to wake up.
Starting point is 00:08:58 This is for you if you're focused on your sleep or even want a cool item or trying to do better about your pattern. This is for you. If you're not worried about that, just set the iPhone alarm and you'll be fine. But this is a cool one. Good luck out there. Anything else on this one? I will just say if you have somebody who loves TikTok or is of that generation, that age, I would say anywhere, and if you are yourself, probably anywhere from 40 down under,
Starting point is 00:09:23 you're going to get a big reaction when they open this. So that's the fun thing. Just know that it might come with an ask to go ahead and pay for that subscription after you've already purchased the actual item. And it isn't cheap. It comes in four colors. You can get it on Amazon for $169.99, but go ahead and add that $69.99 a year. to your thought when you're thinking about how much you want to spend.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Well, again, thanks for the young folks to helping us out. We are not as adept at social media gift guides, but we learned something on this one. We will now, folks, get back to our lane talking relationships here on Idu part two. I'm investigative journalist Melissa Jeltson. My new podcast, What Happened in Nashville, tells the story of an IVF clinic's catastrophic collapse and the patients who banded together in the chaos that followed. We have some breaking news to tell you about. Tennessee's attorney general is suing a Nashville doctor.
Starting point is 00:10:28 In April 2024, a fertility clinic in Nashville shut down overnight and trapped behind locked doors were more than a thousand frozen embryos. I was terrified. Out of all of our journey, that was the worst moment ever. At that point, it didn't occur to me what fight was going to come to follow. But this story isn't just about a few families' futures. It's about whether the promise of modern fertility care can be trusted at all. It doesn't matter how much I fight.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Doesn't matter how much I cry over all of this. It doesn't matter how much justice we get. None of it's going to get me pregnant. Listen to what happened in Nashville on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Have you ever listened to those true crime shows and found yourself with more questions? than answers. And what is this? How is that not a story
Starting point is 00:11:22 we all know? What's this? Where is that? Why is it wet? Boy, do we have a show for you? From smartless media, campside media, and big money players comes crimeless.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Join me, Josh Dean, investigative journalists. And me, Roy Scoval, comedian, as we celebrate the amazing creativity of the world's dumbest criminals. We'll look into some of the silliest ways folks have broken the laws.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Honestly, It feels more like a high-level prank than a crime. Who catfish is a city? And meets some memorable anti-heroes. There are thousands of angry, horny monkeys. Clap if you think she's a witch. And it freaks you out. He has X-ray vision.
Starting point is 00:12:04 How could I not follow him? Honestly, I got to follow me. He can see right through me. Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Who would you call if the unthinkable happened? I just fell and started screaming. If you lost someone you loved in the most horrific way. I said through you got 22 times.
Starting point is 00:12:29 The police, right? But what if the person you're supposed to go to for help is the one you're the most afraid of? This dude is the devil. He's a snake. He'll hurt you. I got you. I got you. I got you. I'm Nikki Richardson. This is The Girlfriends, Untouchable.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Detective Roger Galoopsky spent decades intimidating and sexually abusing black women across Kansas City, using his police badge to scare them into silence. This is the story of a detective who seemed above the law until we came together to take him down. I told Roger Galoopsky, I said, you're going to see my face till the day that you die. Listen to the Girlfriends Untouchable on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Stefan Curry, and this is Gentleman's Cut. But his brother Larry, he stayed behind. and built an entirely different legacy. He was the head of this gang, and nobody was going to tell him what to do. He was going to push that line for the cause. Took us under his wing and showed us the game, as they call it.
Starting point is 00:14:24 When Larry is murdered, Gabe is forced to confront the past he tried to leave behind and uncover secrets he never saw coming. My dad had a whole other life that we never knew about. My mom started screaming my dad's name, and I just heard one gunshot. The Brothers Ortiz is a gripping true story about faith, family, and how two lives can drift so far apart and collide in the most devastating way. Listen to the Brothers Ortiz on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

Starting point is 00:15:34 easy to use. It's an automatic jar opener. It's designed for maximum simplicity. allowing you to open jars with just a single button press.
