Welcome to the Ben Mulroney show on Friday, November 21st. Thank you for spending. You've been with us all week. You've been with us since the beginning. And actually, so today's my last day before a trip to Israel. And I will not be in studio on the 25th. Why is the 25th an important day? Well, that is the one year anniversary of the Ben Mulroney show. Baby's all growns up. And so I'll be happy to call in another host from this radio station.
Alex Pearson will be dutifully and I'm very thankful that she'll be sitting in for me,
but I'll be calling in every day from there.
Last week, or earlier this week, was two days ago when we're talking about Donald Trump's
very, very, very bad day with the Epstein files being forced, his hand being forced by Congress
to sign into law a demand that the Justice Department release all the non-confidential documents,
even though he got elected on that, said he wasn't going to do it when he got elected and there's
nothing to see here. Now his hand has been forced and he does not like, he does not like being
forced to do anything. So while that was happening, he was being interviewed or is being questioned,
I believe fairly about the glowing relationship he seems to have with the head of Saudi Arabia.
You remember Saudi Arabia was sort of very, very tightly linked to 9-11, and their agents were responsible for killing a journalist who had been, he wasn't an American citizen, but he lived in America, and he was killed and dismembered in Turkey.
And this was all happening on Muhammad bin Salman's watch.
And I think he was probably annoyed, but he got asked these questions.
and then he was on, he was on a plane where he told a journalist, was it not now, Piggy?
Quiet Piggy.
Quiet Piggy.
And we talked about that on this show.
And some listeners of the show, by the way, thank you for listening, said he didn't say Piggy.
He said Peggy.
He said Peggy.
So we did a deep dive and he did not say Peggy.
And even if he did, there's nobody he was talking to on the plane named Peggy.
Peggy. So it's more likely that he said Piggy. And so this has been, this has stayed in the
news cycle. That this, his meat, his petty side has been showing its, it's, it's, its ugly
face. And his press secretary, Carolyn Levitt, was asked about this. And in typical Caroline
Levitt fashion, she spins. What did the president mean when he called reporter Piggy?
Look, the president is very frank and honest with everyone in this room. You've all seen it yourself. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons that the American people reelected this president because of his frankness. And he calls out fake news when he sees it. He gets frustrated with reporters when you lie about him, when you spread fake news about him and his administration. But he also is the most transparent president in history. And he gives all of you in this room, as you all know,
unprecedented access. You are in the Oval Office almost every day asking the president
questions. And so I think the president being frank and open and honest to your faces rather
than hiding behind your backs is frankly a lot more respectful than what you saw in the last
administration. Okay. There's a lot there. And some of it is valid. But when you mix it with
the turd salad that she made, the whole thing tastes like turd salad. He is the most open
with his access he gives more interviews than any president ever that's a fact and compare that to
the last guy it's a marked improvement but um we're talking about you say he's most transparent okay
why are we talking about him today we're talking about him because he made a promise to release
documents in the name of transparency and then made it his mission to conceal them you didn't want to
show them. So in this moment, maybe you don't bring up transparency. And he's, don't you want
him to be honest? He's, he's honest and frank. Now, he was elected, I believe some people elect
him because he is so different. He is so different from typical politicians. And they found
that refreshing. But calling a journalist piggy is not a demonstration of honesty. That's like
when somebody says, um, um, um, no disrespect, but, and then they proceed to, to disrespect
you. Like you, you can't, you can't change the message. The message itself is not proof of him
being open and frank. It's proof that he's capable of being petty and mean. Well, then that also
leads to the real story that sort of came, that came out yesterday, which is eye opening, uh, when
And the leading Democrats, who have all served in the military, released a video, basically telling soldiers, people who are enlisted in the military not to follow orders.
If you get an unlawful order, you do not have to, you can stand down.
Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders.
You can refuse illegal orders.
You must refuse illegal orders.
No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our consequences.
Constitution. Okay. It's pretty clear what they're doing there. And he does not like that. Donald Trump
did not like that. He accused the six Democratic lawmakers of, quote, seditious behavior, punishable by
death. And he wants them held to account. And he responded on truth social. He wants them
arrested and put on trial. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. We won't have a country anymore.
an example must be set, signed president, DJT.
And look, again, like, unfortunately, I hate sometimes that Donald Trump is the guy who's making a decent point.
Like, I'm not condoning anything he said there.
But I do like, I like his clarity.
I kind of like his clarity.
Sorry, we don't get that a lot from politicians.
He's a very blunt instrument.
He is, so yeah, he's not a scalpel.
He is a hammer.
He hits it.
And whether or not you like it or not, that doesn't matter whatsoever here.
It's whether or not that it's just the fact that that's what he does.
And then how he responded.
And then, of course, the response, there's always follow up when he says when he puts
something out there like that.
So the press had a very interesting question, possibly one of the most remarkable questions,
ever asked in a White House briefing.
Just to be clear, does the president want to execute members of Congress?
No. Let's be clear about what the president is responding to, because many in this room want to talk about the president's response, but not what brought the president to responding in this way.
You have sitting members of the United States Congress who conspired together to orchestrate a video message to members of the United States military to active duty.
service members to members of the national security apparatus, encouraging them to defy the president's
lawful orders. The sanctity of our military rests on the chain of command. And if that chain of
command is broken, it can lead to people getting killed. It can lead to chaos. Again, there's
some good stuff in there. And then there's the turds that you throw in. And the reason they're doing
this is obviously because of the political turmoil.
Yeah.
And the fact that the president is using the military within the United States.
Well, he's been using the National Guard.
National Guard, yeah.
Right, that National Guard gets deployed in the United States all the time.
Yeah, but he's throwing it and with ice.
There's a lot of different levels of the law enforcement that are being used by the federal government.
That people are not happy.
If I were, like if I'm a casual observer, right,
If these are unlawful orders, then there is a place for that to be remedied.
And that's the courts to tell the brave men and women that suit up in defense of the United States that, you know what?
You may want to sit this one out.
I don't see the political gain there for the Democrats.
Launch a lawsuit.
Launch a lawsuit.
That's why you have the judiciary is to find out whether you have executive overstretch.
And if you do, Donald Trump will have his hand.
His hand slapped, and he won't do it again, or at least he'll try a different way to get it done.
You might not like what he's doing, but I really don't think this rises to the level of seditious.
Look, we don't like his tariffs here.
We're not choosing to not pay them.
We are attacking him in court where we will seek hopefully the remedy that we want.
It's at the Supreme Court right now, so we'll see.
But the option is not for us to just don't pay the tariffs.
No, we got our remedy and we'll go get it in the future.
Hopefully.
All right.
Up next, I had a fleeting moment of glory.
Stop writing these.
I had a fleeting moment of glory last week.
And is it BS or is it real?
Certainly that can't continue.
Can it?
No, it cannot.

Well, yes, it is the Ben Mulleruny show,
but for this segment on this Friday, November 21st,
it's all about my intrepid producer, Mike Droulet.
He's a very, see, listen.
Everything should be about me.
Well, I was going to, you know, you said it for me.
I was going to, I was going to point out, he's a very selfish man.
I've heard that he's selfish man, but generous lover.
Yeah, that's why I have a t-shirt that says.
Selfish man, generous lover.
That would be, we have to start making Ben Mulroney's show swag.
I think so.
I think there's, because there's a lot of stuff we do on the show that pops up a lot.
There we know, and then we say something fun.
Sorry, lefty ninja math.
I thought that was a good one today.
Actually, that was a good one.
Lefty Ninja Math.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, they're pulling some lefty ninja math.
Okay, so now it's time for a segment that we do every week.
It's turned into a battle of good versus evil.
Good.
And it is what it is.
I find it so fun to watch this man's head explode every time I get one right.
It's, is it BS or is it real?
And before we start, there is some saucy language.
in the opening of this show
of this segment. So, I mean,
if you don't know by now how to deal with it,
I can't help you.
See, now that's some bullshit.
This is bullshit.
Man, this is some bullshit.
You want answers?
I think I'm entitled.
You want answers.
I want the truth.
You can't handle the truth.
You are fake news.
You are fake news, but I just realized
some of you might be new to the show
and you don't know what this is.
So my producer puts together a list
of news stories
some of which he pulled from the headlines
some of which he pulled out of a part
of his body and I have to determine
whether it's BS or it's
real. Which one stinks and which one
doesn't? I ran the table
last week. I pitched him. No, no.
I didn't. Oh, the last one I got wrong.
Yes. Yeah, it was
my arm was tired
but the game, I had won the game already.
No, you gave up a home run of the ninth.
Yeah, okay, so yeah, padded your own stats.
And so we're going to go to Dave Bradley
in the newsroom who adds a certain level of authenticity
and classes up the joint.
He's going to read them and I have to determine whether they're real.
And play along at home.
So let's start with story number one, Dave.
A new Russian-made video game set amid the ongoing war in Ukraine
is facing sharp international backlash
after players discovered it uses real, unedited footage
from battlefield attacks and civilian targeted strikes
as in-game cutscenes.
The critics argue the developers are exploiting real suffering
for entertainment and propaganda with Ukrainian officials condemning the game as
war tourism built on stolen tragedy.
The studio has defended the footage as authentic storytelling,
but tech platforms and human rights groups are now reviewing whether the game violates
policies on graphic violence and the use of sensitive conflict material without consent.
Interesting one.
That's a really great way to start, Mike Trolley, and I'll tell you why.
Please, tell you why.
This is terrible behavior that I would expect of Russians,
I expect of the Russian government, I should say.
And it seems like this is where technology would go.
I've never heard of video games coming out of Russia,
but I don't know that much about them.
I don't want to live in a world where it's real.
I should probably say it's real.
I'm going to say it's real.
This is bullshit.
Shit.
Yeah, no, that was good.
That was a good one.
Thank you.
That was a well done.
Yeah.
I thought that one was so middle of the road, you would have to flip a coin.
Yeah, I did have to flip a coin.
I did.
All right.
And the gods were not smiling on me for round one, so let's move on to round two.
Rapper added Eminem is suing Australian beach brand Swim Shady,
claiming its name is too similar to his trademarked alter ego, Slim Shady.
Eminem filed a complaint with the U.S.
patent and trademark office in September, looking to cancel Swim Shady's trademark, arguing the
brand creates a false association with him. The Sydney-based company, which tells beach
umbrellas, towels and shorts, said it would defend its intellectual property, noting it was
originally launched as Slim Shade before rebranding. M&M, who trademarks Slim Shady in the U.S. in
1999 and in Australia in 2025 is called the name distinctive and famous, while Swimshady has
challenged his trademarks over alleged non-use.
Huh.
Why don't they just change their name to Swim Shade?
I mean, if they were Swim Shady and then they were Slim Shade, Slim Shade, let's combine the two,
and then you get something different.
Last one was fake.
He's American.
He defends his trademarks.
He defends his IP.
I'm going to say it's real.
A similar event did take place.
Yep.
You flipped a coin.
No, that was an educated guess.
That was a coin.
That was an educated guess.
Yeah.
Ah, educated guess.
All right.
You're a flipper.
Coin flipper.
Ah, shame on you.
Okay.
Next one, please, sir.
A Pennsylvania court ruled that a home seller didn't have to disclose swastika
in German War Eagle tiles hidden under rugs in a basement.
saying such symbols aren't material defects that affect a home's value or safety.
The buyers argued the ruling ignored the harm tied to hate imagery
and noted the tiles are costly to remove,
but the court compared the issue to psychological stigma,
which doesn't require disclosure.
The seller said he installed the design back in the 70s.
We forgot about it.
Uh, what?
So, some people bought their dream house.
and when they bought it, there was a rug covering something up.
And then they rolled it up, and there were swastikas everywhere.
And it wasn't had that experience.
I'm shocked that the court didn't find in favor of the buyer.
Like, I'm sorry, when I bought, I was like, okay, well, I can just,
and the rug's not coming with the house.
Okay, I want to live in a world where
these people got justice, but in order to do that, the story has to be real.
So I will say it's real.
It's fact.
Yes.
They bought a house with Hitler's bunker in the basement.
I'm sorry.
Oh, it's a psychological thing?
No, it's not, there's a physical change you're going to have to bring to the house
in order to ever have anybody over who's not part of the Aryan Brotherhood.
Like, unless that's your plan for the house, it's going to cost you some money.
It's a fixer-upper.
The coin flips working well for you today.
You know what? Don't undermine my ability to sniff out your BS.
You're like a truffle pig, I tell you.
I am. I'm a truffle pig. You're exactly right. You're exactly right.
Moving on to number four, please.
Two landscapers in Ohio got more than they bargained for when they found a gun in a yard
and started pointing it at each other while pulling the trigger.
A 32-year-old was shot in the mouth after the 18-year-old co-worker took the weapon and fired.
EMS rushed the injured man to hospital.
police charge the younger man with negligent volonious assault.
Authorities are investigating the gun's ownership
and how it ended up in the yard in the first place.
So they got more than they expected.
What do you expect when you pull a gun and you pull the trigger?
Getting shot in the mouth, man.
Yeah.
Dental bills.
So.
Okay.
Quick, so we get to number five.
Okay, so I'm going to say it's real.
It happened.
Yes.
You're correct.
It's fact.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I know you picked it because you're like, you know, if that had been in Florida, Ben would think it was real.
So this one's Ohio.
So he might think it's fake.
Ohio is practically Florida.
It really is.
It really is.
It is.
Okay.
We got time for the last one.
Let's see how we're doing here.
A French landscaping company is under investigation after it was discovered using sand taken from the
beaches of Normandy in its commercial projects. The company had been promoting a
jardin du debarkment concept or landing gardens, claiming to bring a piece of the historic
coastline to clients' properties. Authorities say the sand was removed without permits,
raising concerns about the environmental impact on the protected beaches, which are both
natural habitats and sites of immense historical significance. Officials are reviewing the scale
of the operation and the company could face hefty fines and orders
to restore the affected areas.
Local residents and environmental groups
have condemned the practice as irresponsible
and disrespectful to the memory of the D-Day landings.
There is no part of me that believes that that story is true.
None. Zero.
I could see people in Ohio and Florida doing that.
But there's no way that some self-respecting French people
would ever do that, ever.
And I don't see how you get enough sand off that beach
in order to make a business model out of it.
So that is BS.
Man, this is some bullshit.
The Gerdin du debacle,
no, no, you got a little greedy there, man.
You got a little greedy.
So you had three coin flips and a guess.
What?
So I have another victory under my belt.
That's what talent is my buddy.
Scoreboard, scoreboard Mike Droulet.
And thank you very much, Dave Bradley,
and thank you for playing along.
All right, when we come back from the break,
I had a flea.
Oh, and that was last one.
Jesus, I got to keep moving.
Thank you.
