Starting point is 00:00:00 The topic is, should JT have gotten the F out of BC? You like all those letters I just used there? Do we have the audio of this? As you know, the Prime Minister was in BC skiing. And he got approached by a woman, and she had this to say. Mr. Prime Minister. Please get the f*** out of BC. Have a wonderful day, man.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Yeah, you suck. Yeah, that's the story is more interesting than just that audio, by the way. We'll get into that in a second. But the question I have for you is no matter how much you hate a politician, is this appropriate or inappropriate? Or do you side with the woman? Has Justin Trudeau lost the moral high ground by the way he's governed or because of some of the things he said about Canadians? Let me know what you think. I think I think this is a moving target. Honestly, my opinion changes depending on the factors that I hear. I think
Starting point is 00:01:00 it's absolutely appropriate to criticize, but his kid was there. His kid was there, and that, for me, is a bridge too far. I think she could have wanted to do it, and when she saw that there was a child present, I think she should have turned and walked away. That is my personal opinion on this, but I do appreciate how angry people are. I do appreciate how angry people are. I do appreciate how angry people are. And you have the democratic right in a free society to voice your outrage. I've heard that apparently she had a limp because she'd crashed going down the mountain.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And as she was hobbling away, the prime minister turned and said, did you really just hobble all the way over here to say that to me? So he ended it with, I think, quite a charming tagline. And she has expressed regret that were she to meet him again, she would apologize for saying that. So I think this can go in a lot of different directions, but I do want to hear from you. Let's bring George into the conversation. Hey, George, welcome to the show. Good morning. Good morning. Happy New Year.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Yes, indeed. I think they're both in the right. Justin Trudeau, you know, the failed prime minister that he has, has the right to travel and vacation anywhere in Canada and as a as second citizen of Canada with a terrible prime minister it's all right to go up and actually state her opinion directly to him or he actually can hear how all Canadians feel about him through one voice so it's very strong message I mean I would I would not apologize to them all I would just tell him that same thing every day if I was able to see him. Because somebody came, how can you look in the mirror and wake up in the morning and say, you know, Canadians love me. You've got to be a narcissist or completely delusional. Yeah. And listen, you bring up a couple of points that I want to touch on.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Thank you very much, George. Thank you. Thank you. George has brought up a couple of things that I want to talk about. One, what's up with his security? We saw what happened on the beach in Tofino, I think, where a citizen journalist was haranguing him incessantly. I don't like that my prime minister is this accessible. I don't care how much I dislike his policies. I don't care how destructive I think his government has been. I don't I don't care how foolhardy they've been with the the public coin. My prime minister represents me everywhere he goes.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I want him to be protected. I want a show of force. And this woman was able to just walk up. I mean, what what if this woman was even more angry and decided she wanted to slap the guy, punch the guy? We're always prepared for the things that have happened in the past. We don't prepare for the potential threats of the future. And that concerns me. 416-870-6400 or 1-888-225-TALK. Was the woman in the right for telling Justin to get the F out of B.C.?
Starting point is 00:04:08 Let's welcome Joe to the show. Joe, welcome. Good morning, Ben. Good morning. I think that the woman expresses the sentiments of most Canadians, and although I may feel the same way, I think that you can't lose humanity. Yeah. You know, the guy is a guy is, is a human being.
Starting point is 00:04:27 He is a dad. He had his kid there. But I think it's a trade-off. You lose your humanity because you want to make yourself feel great because you're going to post all this on social media. And look at you. Wow. You're so tough that you told the prime minister where to go you can't lose sense of your humanity because of that yeah joe joe that's you know i i don't think i could have put it any more beautifully that's a very apt way of describing it it's a And and I get the anger and the desire to vent. And all of a sudden, the physical embodiment of your anger is in front of you. I get wanting to confront that anger. You know, I I in my entire life on television.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I can remember the only time somebody came at me because they didn't like my dad. And I made sure that I gave that guy, I gave it right back to him. And we don't have to get into it because it's not suitable for radio. But it only happened once. And because of that, I have said many, many times in the past that it takes a certain type of anger and a certain type of person to leave their life, come out of their life, walk across the street to go insult somebody they don't know. And so I appreciate the anger that this woman has, but I don't know that it was well
Starting point is 00:05:59 thought out telling him to get the F out of BC. That's not, I don't think that's for her to say. I think she probably, if she could rephrase it, she would have said something a little more on point, but I think the you suck, you know, I think she could have had a better soundbite is my point. And I think it could have been more effective and probably more kind. Hey, let's welcome Mike to the show. Mike, welcome. Happy, what day are we? Monday. Hi, kind. Hey, let's welcome Mike to the show. Mike, welcome. Happy, what day are we? Monday.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Hi, Ben. Hey, Mike. Yeah, I don't, I'm not a fan of these flags and that sort of thing. Like I'm no Justin Trudeau fan, but he's our prime minister. That's the office of our prime minister. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And the flags, the bumper stickers, all of that is just a real white trash thing to do that, that really devalues our country and makes us look weak. This woman get out of BC. Who the hell is she? Well, yeah, I I'm,
Starting point is 00:06:59 I'm of that mind as well. I, and I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. Mike, you tell me what you think. But I, I, I think in that moment
Starting point is 00:07:06 she probably had a million things she wanted to say, and that's the one thing that came out. Get the F out of BC. She doesn't own BC, and he's the Prime Minister of Canada, and he's on vacation. I have
Starting point is 00:07:21 tough times seeing how that was the most pressing, important thing for her to say. You give her a lot of leeway with that. It kind of sounds like somebody that says something like that, in my opinion, is probably also under the influence of something. Okay, thanks, Mike. I appreciate it. Hey, Tim, welcome to the Ben Mulroney Show. What say you? Yeah, well, you're saying about the humanity out in B.C. Where was Trudeau's humanity during COVID?
Starting point is 00:07:49 When all this started, he was following his own agenda, which delayed the vaccine rollout. Hundreds of people in seniors' homes died. Other people lost family and friends, all because he had his own personal agenda. If he'd have been on the ball, he'd have been doing what everyone else is supposed to do and i'm yet to figure out why as a prime minister of canada he has legal obligations to look out for the people and yet a duty to do that so i am no no tim tim i think i think i i think you highlight some important points i i i feel that we are in a pretty unique time in that the anger that exists towards our prime minister, I have not seen in my lifetime. And people, there's people chirping from the cheap seats. What about your dad?
Starting point is 00:08:39 What about your dad? He had a majority government. And this government does not have that mandate. This government, because of the minority mandate that they've been given, have been told by the people, we don't trust you with a majority. And what happens, and I've said this on this show before, minority governments typically last between nine and 18 months. And the fact that he's been governing as if he has a majority has made people people even angrier than they have ever been before. Throw in what Tim just said about COVID and the things that this prime minister has said. And I think that there's just a toxicity
Starting point is 00:09:15 that's built up in the anger towards him.
