It's all requests Friday on the Ben Ball Radio Show.
Back-to-back double play as we take you into the weekend.
No, this is a great song.
Of course, Chris Stapleton.
We got a request for some Chris Stapleton.
So again, if you're something you'd want to hear as bumper music as we call it,
please feel free to shoot us a text.
416-870-6400.
And we'll try and play that.
It's Friday.
Why not?
We can't play the whole song.
We're still trying to do spoken word content here, folks.
Give us a break.
But at the same time, we are trying to ease you into your weekend.
But I'm not sure that Chris Stapleton is the right sort of vibe for this next segment,
joy. Oh, here we go. Yeah, yeah.
You unlock this door with the key of imagination.
Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound.
A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind.
The Twilight Zone theme, it feels like maybe I am in the Twilight Zone today, as a matter of fact.
But, more importantly, this is a serious subject.
I think there's a lot of conspiracies out there as it relates to UFOs.
But today, the government did release, the U.S. government, released another wave of documents tied to UFOs, or what the official word I think is UAPs, unidentified aerial phenomena, the military sightings, pilot encounters, radar data, objects moving in ways experts still can't quite explain.
So what's actually in this newly released set of documents? What's real? What's speculation?
and why is the government taking this more seriously than ever before?
Well, I asked the intrepid producer, Mike Drolle.
We were back and forth about the show earlier today,
and we were talking about UFO document dump.
And I said to him, in the most respectful and affectionate way meant to be,
Mike, find me the best nerd possible to talk about this.
And I mean that as an endearing comment.
I think there's a lot of people out there
that I wish I had their brain power.
And Chris Rottowski is one of them.
He is a Canadian UFO expert.
Chris, welcome to the show.
And please, I hope you don't take offense to how I asked Mike to find this guest,
to find you as our guest.
No, I think I'll take the compliment.
Why not?
It is meant to be a compliment.
So thanks for joining us.
Before we get into it, what qualifies you to be a UFO expert?
I mean, your own Twitter just calls.
calls yourself a UFO guy.
So what makes you the expert?
Well, I guess in reality, no one is a real UFO expert because, you know, we actually
haven't caught an actual UFO and the UFO is long gone by the time we started looking
into it.
So I've been into this for a while.
My background, I have degrees in astronomy and education.
I've investigated cases.
I was a consultant for the recent Sky Canada project from the Canadian
government. I have, you know, been writing about what people have told me and what I've found. I've
found interesting government documents. And, you know, I have a bunch of books on the subject that
talk about exactly what's going on. Yeah. I think it's actually a really fair assessment to
suggest that title you as a UFO expert because of all the research that you've done. So tell us
about these documents that were released today by the, by the U.S. government.
Well, it's an interesting batch of stuff.
It's not the disclosure that I think people have been looking for.
It probably is a step in that direction.
It's kind of a dog's breakfast, actually,
because there's pages of documents from 1947 detailing very old cases,
cases that we knew about before.
There's a batch of stuff sort of in the middle that we hadn't known a lot about.
And then there's cases as recently as this year,
from a gun camera and infrared video
from pilots and drone footage
from the Middle East,
from Syria, Iraq,
of interesting little dots and things moving around.
A lot of it's pretty vague.
There's one case I was reading that,
and the video is there of an unusual glare
that was caught on camera.
Now, to me, that doesn't automatically say alien.
It just means that there's something interesting glare
going on out there. But, you know, this was taken seriously by the American government and around
the world scientists are becoming more and more comfortable talking about UAP and studying the
phenomenon. So it really is, it is nothing new necessarily in all those, some of the cases we
certainly haven't heard of before. But nothing that shouts, you know, this is the extraterrestrial
connection for sure. And so, and so, Chris, tell me one thing.
I'm going to ask you for multiple, but let's start with one.
What is one thing that you saw today in these released documents that you find interesting?
Oh, well, you know, there's a lot that's actually interesting.
I'd have to say one of the more interesting ones was goes all the way back to the 1947,
where there is a color scan of the drawing made by a fellow named Kenneth Arnold,
who is credited as seen the very first flying saucer
and described it,
and he got all the hoopla back in 1947
when he had seen something flying over Washington State as a pilot.
And we've seen versions of this before,
but this is a beautiful, you know, hand-drawn color drawing
that we've never seen before.
So what we're seeing is stuff that had been kicking around in the archives
somewhere that had never been seen
before. So we do get to see documents that have never seen the light of day before, so that's a plus.
A lot of the more modern stuff, especially some of these videos from the Middle East in the past five years or so,
they're very heavily redacted. They're all by military personnel, and one can understand that, of course,
you know, we don't have the time, date, exact location, name of the person filming at that type of thing,
or the equipment that was used and the camera angle and what kind of camera because that's all classified stuff.
So, you know, we got some teases as to what was seen in some of these cases.
But, you know, it just makes me, I'd have to say, it's made me more curious.
I'm not disappointed necessarily because I didn't have my expectations all that high.
But, you know, it certainly piqued everyone's curiosity, including mine.
Speaking with Chris Wittowski, he's a Canadian UFO expert written countless publications
with regards to the search and the data and the stories behind, you know,
sightings or non-sightings or activity, I guess I would call it.
Chris, maybe, you know, you could just answer for me.
I thought I read somewhere online that as it relates to these documents that were released
today that there was a debrief with Buzz Aldrin.
I don't know if you saw this.
And he described what is being called a, quote, sizable object near the lunar surface
during Apollo 11.
And there's a lot of questions being asked as to what exactly it was.
Why was it classified at the time?
Why is it only now being declassified?
Maybe you can, have you heard about the Buzz Aldrin story about this object?
and also maybe we could just quickly go into like,
should we read into anything because something is deemed classified?
Sure. As a matter of fact, there's a number of cases by astronauts that are included in this dump.
Not just the Buzz Aldrin thing, but certainly things that were seen in the sky during Paul 11,
but also, you know, dating as far back as 1965 where Frank Gorman,
on Gemini 7 had reported bogeys flying around his spacecraft back then.
So, you know, there's a lot of this.
A lot of this was classified at the time because, you know,
we're talking about military involvement.
As far as the whatever was seen over Paul 11,
there were a number of photographs that I hadn't seen before that were finally released.
Why it was classified?
Why haven't we seen it before?
It's difficult to say, but we do know that in many cases it's because of some of the military involvement that had been all the way through the Apollo program.
Chris, I need you to say on the line.
There's so many more questions I have about this.
It's fascinating to me and hopefully to the audience as well.
If you do have a question that you're thinking about as you drive around or you're out listening to the Ben Mulroney show this afternoon,

What did the data dump today say about proof of extraterrestrial life?
We'll see.
Does ET actually exist?
Well, they talked about it in the documents today.

Thanks for those that are texting in there.
It's all you can request Friday on 640 Toronto and across the chorus radio network.
I don't know why I'm talking like this.
My name is Mike Ben Dixon.
I'm filling in for Ben Maloney.
I'm trying to have some fun.
It's Friday.
Why not?
Thanks to the texters that texted us asking for some Sloan.
we just hit you up with that.

Just name the artist and we'll get it going.
But right now, right now,
the X-Files, baby.
And I remember watching this show.
The reason why we're talking about all things X-Files and UFO,
speaking of X-Files, a lot of those X-Files were released today
by the U.S. government.
and joining us to chat about all things extraterrestrial and UFO and X-Files is Canada's foremost expert on these things.
His name is Chris Ritzkowski, and he's been kind enough to join us this afternoon.
Chris, thanks so much for your time again.
I do want to take some phone calls because we got a lot of phone calls from people that want to talk to you.
Are you okay with that?
Sure, why not?
All right.
Let's go to line four.
Jim is calling.
Hey, Jim, where are you?
Are you in Alberta?
Calgary, yep.
Hey, welcome to the show. How's your Friday going?
Good, good, absolutely beautiful out here in sunny Alberta.
Awesome. Great. Thanks for listening. Yeah, go ahead with your question.
As we think about this, and I'm off the age that we actually had a radio broadcast at one point in time where people actually believe that we were being attacked by Martians.
To the point now where we have Voyager, which I think has been flying for somewhere around 50 years, and it would take one day get to where it is.
So where would we think these aliens would be coming from?
There's nowhere in our realm of possibility that something could travel that far to be visiting us.
Yeah, great question.
Jim, I'm going to let you go so that you can listen to the answer.
So what do you say, Chris?
Where would they be coming from?
Well, that's a very good question, as a matter of fact.
You know, astronomers have been able to find quite a few of what's called exoplanets, planets are kind of like us.
here on Earth that, you know, if we're here, maybe evolution worked on another planet out there somewhere.
There's a number of these exoplanets is one called Kepler 182F or something like that.
They have some strange designations.
That's a little bit bigger than Earth, but probably is very similar to it.
But it's like five or six hundred light years away, which means we have no way of really detecting this ourselves
and communicating with whatever might be there.
but you know the possibility is strong I mean we know that you know life evolved here on
earth maybe there's a planet out there that's you know about a thousand 10,000 a million
years advanced than us because there's stars a little bit older than us maybe they figured
out a way to travel between the stars and that's what people are hoping for so we have no
idea where these things are coming from but you know we're not alone in the universe most
astronomers agree that, but, you know, we don't have the smoking gun. We don't have the proof yet.
And when you say we're not alone in the universe, most scientists can agree with that.
Like, I don't agree with that. I'm not a scientist, but I, like, what makes you so bold in that
statement to say that we're not alone? Well, as I said, we're, you know, we're here through
evolution and we know that our star has evolved and you know a number of billion years ago
Earth is you know was formed and eventually life formed and there are going to be planets like
our Earth around other stars elsewhere in the universe and we have detected and have photographs of
some of these planets around other stars so we suspect very strongly that if these planets are very much
like our earth, life is very, very capable of living and existing in unusual places.
We have life detected at the bottom of oceans and volcanoes.
There's interesting life now growing inside the Chernobyl reactor.
So we know even under harsh and unusual conditions, life is very persistent.
Given that, it's very likely that life is going to be elsewhere in the universe.
That's the general biological view.
Okay. General Biological View.
416-870-6400.
416-870-6400.
Let's go to Dan.
Hey, Dan, welcome to the show.
Thanks. How you doing?
I'm great. How are you, sir?
I'm good. I'm good.
Go with your question.
I love the topic.
Yeah, me too.
I wanted to ask what anyone is saying about the idea of the Fermi paradox, which was brought up in 19,
by Enrico Fermi and what he says about, you know, where is everybody, right?
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Who's Enrico Fermi and why am I listening to him?
Okay, so he was a physicist in the 50.
Okay, okay.
Around 1950.
Okay.
And he sat around with a bunch of other physicists and all he said was,
why isn't anybody here yet?
And when he said that, it kind of said everybody.
aside because they started thinking about it and they realized when he started doing the calculations
he said listen our universe is over 14 billion years old we have you know millions upon millions of
different permutations of earth sustainable kind of planets throughout our universe yeah and in that
amount of time look at we're tiny we're six seven billion years old and we've come to where we are now
So if you have a gap of another $10 billion.
Dan, I just want to get your answer to your question.
I understand where you're coming from.
I understand the philosophy.
I understand what your question is.
Let's see if our expert, Chris Wittowski,
is that how I pronounce your name, Chris?
Rutkowski.
I apologize.
So, Chris, what do you think about the Fermi paradox?
Well, you know, Fermi did pose that.
His actual words were, where are there?
in terms of the aliens.
You know, if they exist, then where are they?
But he also phrased it in a different way in that where are they?
Because, you know, if we say that there's life out there in the universe,
the paradoxes we haven't seen any yet.
Why not if there's so many out there?
And there's a couple of reasons.
One could be that, you know, either we are alone in the universe,
which is very depressing, or that they're just so far away that, you know,
travel between stars is really not that good.
It seems so easy on Star Trek, but in real life it could be something different.
Or there's actually something called the Great Filter, and this will cheer you up,
that it could be that civilizations get to a certain point in their development,
and they basically blow themselves up or an asteroid hits and wipes out the whole planet or something like that.
And it could be that we're so lucky that that hasn't happened to us yet.
So the paradox is if there's so many aliens, where are they?
and there's not too many good explanations.
Okay, I'm going to try and squeeze in one quick call, Barry.
If you could be as quick as possible, I'm running late, but I wanted to get to your question.
Go ahead.
No, real quick.
I was wondering if he heard anything about Bob Lazar and his project of re-engineering or reverse engineering UFOs that have crashed on the planet.
Okay.
Thanks for the call, Barry.
Chris, can you answer that real quick?
Yeah, real quick, I know of the story.
He says that he was part of a government project.
There's a lot of holes in a story, and many people don't believe him, but many people do.
And my argument is if they really did back engineer stuff, we probably wouldn't have used Artemis to get to the moon.
That's a great point, actually.
Yeah, we could have done it the way that the aliens are doing it.
Exactly.
Chris Rutkowski, thank you so much for joining us.
We've got to have you back on the show.
You've got to come into the studio and hang out with us.
People just want to ask you questions, and so do I.
So, again, thank you very much for making yourself available today.
Okay, no problem.
Thanks a lot, Chris.
