This is Nick.
This is Jack.
It's Friday, the real Friday, June 30th.
And today's pod is the best one yet.
But Yeties, before we hit any of those stories.
Jack, we got a special pod for the besties out there.
The initial baby offering is finally here, Yeties.
The IBO.
It just went public.
Our first baby made an entrance on June 22nd last week.
Nick's baby was born on June 22nd.
And Nick, you were born on January 22nd.
Not too shabby. I know. I love the 22s. We're going to roll with the 22s, Jack. Great number.
Now, Nick, before we talk about the baby's name, can we get some financial statistics on his child?
I mean, yet he's Jack and I had to jump in T-boy style here. The numbers. First, this baby IBO was valued at 8.4 pounds.
Am I reading this right? This baby had 21 inch return on length. Jack, I'm checking the footnotes here.
We're talking exponential cuteness in the statistics. This new Martel baby has serious.
growth potential.
Yes.
Now, remember, yet,
to sprinkle on
some more context here,
the gender was a surprise.
Yeah.
So I never had this before.
I always knew for both of my boys,
it was going to be a boy.
Okay, so, Jack,
in the delivery room,
when the lights were like on
and the spotlight was happening,
I got to yell out,
it's a boy.
That was your only job.
The whole time you were in the hospital,
you just had to say it's a boy.
I like, cut an umbilical cord.
I yelled an only boy,
and then I kind of blacked out,
Jack.
Molly is the absolute star of the show.
Okay.
Without further ado,
Nick, can we get this baby's name?
I gotta tell you,
we haven't quite decided yet.
We're gonna give it one more day, one more day.
We decided we take the guy home,
get to know him a little bit,
and then decide on the name after that.
So this is John Q. Martel?
Yeah, in the meantime,
I got Social Security's phone number on speed dial.
I got to call them after this.
Was there any debate about the first name?
We had four names picked out, you know, for both boys and girls.
Wait, you had two for boys and two for girls?
Four for boys.
We're having the elite eight.
Yeah.
And then once he came, we were like, you know what?
We should like get to know the guy a little bit more.
We decided we'll take him home and then we'll decide on the name.
Have you been testing out one of those four boy names?
We've been test driving them all week long.
Like Luke, he doesn't respond.
Larry, he's not responding.
Let's try toning.
In the meantime, yet he's will have a name picked out by Wednesday.
For now, let's just call this thing, baby Martel.
Let's roll with the check.
And yet he's to sprinkle on a little more context.
The labor took.
longer than expected. Yeah, Molly and I, we were in the hospital for four days not to. And we want to
give Nick and Molly the proper time to love that little baby boy before life returns to normal.
By the way, Molly powered through this and she's doing fantastic, by the way. Molly is
fantastic overall, generally speaking. She gave everything. And she's still giving everything.
Because it doesn't just stop after the labor. Like there is so much more that comes after. It's
incredible to watch. Molly, you're doing amazing. Thank you.
you for all you are giving our child every day.
Besides, we figured you were probably traveling for the 4th of July weekend anyway.
Yeah, Jack and I were looking at the calendars.
It's kind of like an awkward four-dayish long weekend, isn't it, Jack?
Ibso facto, we decided to extend paternity leave a little bit longer.
Our daily show will return on Wednesday, July 5th.
Today, we just wanted to jump on the mics, give you the update that all is well with Nick
and the whole Martel family.
Today, Jack and I were talking, we just wanted to thank all the besties and yeties out there
who let us take all this important time
every time we have a baby to be with our families.
Because Yetis, you are our boss.
Like, you guys literally, you're our bosses for this show.
So thanks for letting us have paternity leave.
So, Jack, what's the takeaway for all our listeners out there?
Have a fantastic long Fourth of July weekend.
Celebrate the wins this entire weekend.
We'll see you on Wednesday.
And we'll have a baby name by Wednesday.
